“House Health Bill Has Nowhere to Go in Senate

Government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to some Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate . If a government health plan is part of the deal “as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote,” Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn, said.”

“The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate.

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and “take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people.”

The problem is that the Senate won’t run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

If a government plan is part of the deal, “as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote,” said Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent whose vote Democrats need to overcome GOP filibusters.

“The House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said dismissively.

Democrats did not line up to challenge him. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has yet to schedule floor debate and hinted last week that senators may not be able to finish health care this year.

Nonetheless, the House vote provided an important lesson in how to succeed with less-than-perfect party unity, and one that Senate Democrats may be able to adapt. House Democrats overcame their own divisions and broke an impasse that threatened the bill after liberals grudgingly accepted tougher restrictions on abortion funding, as abortion opponents demanded.

In Senate, the stumbling block is the idea of the government competing with private insurers. Liberals may have to swallow hard and accept a deal without a public plan in order to keep the legislation alive. As in the House, the compromise appears to be to the right of the political spectrum.

Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, who voted for a version of the Senate bill in committee, has given the Democrats a possible way out. She’s proposing to allow a government plan as a last resort, if after a few years premiums keep escalating and local health insurance markets remain in the grip of a few big companies. This is the “trigger” option.

That approach appeals to moderates such as Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La. “If the private market fails to reform, there would be a fallback position,” Landrieu said last week. “It should be triggered by choice and affordability, not by political whim.”

Lieberman said he opposes the public plan because it could become a huge and costly entitlement program. “I believe the debt can break America and send us into a recession that’s worse than the one we’re fighting our way out of today,” he said.

For now, Reid is trying to find the votes for a different approach: a government plan that states could opt out of.

The Senate is not likely to jump ahead this week on health care. Reid will keep meeting with senators to see if he can work out a political formula that will give him not only the 60 votes needed to begin debate, but the 60 needed to shut off discussion and bring the bill to a final vote.”

“House Passes Health Care Bill”

“The 220-215 vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin debate on the issue that has come to overshadow all others in Congress.
In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

The 220-215 vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin a long-delayed debate on the issue that has come to overshadow all others in Congress.

A triumphant Speaker Nancy Pelosi likened the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare 30 years later — and Obama issued a statement saying, “I look forward to signing it into law by the end of the year.”

“It provides coverage for 96 percent of Americans. It offers everyone, regardless of health or income, the peace of mind that comes from knowing they will have access to affordable health care when they need it,” said Rep. John Dingell, the 83-year-old Michigan lawmaker who has introduced national health insurance in every Congress since succeeding his father in 1955.

In the run-up to a final vote, conservatives from the two political parties joined forces to impose tough new restrictions on abortion coverage in insurance policies to be sold to many individuals and small groups. They prevailed on a roll call of 240-194.

Ironically, that only solidified support for the legislation, clearing the way for conservative Democrats to vote for it.

The legislation would require most Americans to carry insurance and provide federal subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford it. Large companies would have to offer coverage to their employees. Both consumers and companies would be slapped with penalties if they defied the government’s mandates.

Insurance industry practices such as denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions would be banned, and insurers would no longer be able to charge higher premiums on the basis of gender or medical history. In a further slap, the industry would lose its exemption from federal antitrust restrictions on price fixing and market allocation.

At its core, the measure would create a federally regulated marketplace where consumers could shop for coverage. In the bill’s most controversial provision, the government would sell insurance, although the Congressional Budget Office forecasts that premiums for it would be more expensive than for policies sold by private firms.

A cheer went up from the Democratic side of the House when the bill gained 218 votes, a majority. Moments later, Democrats counted down the final seconds of the voting period in unison, and let loose an even louder roar when Pelosi grabbed the gavel and declared, “the bill is passed.”

The bill drew the votes of 219 Democrats and Rep. Joseph Cao, a first-term Republican who holds an overwhelmingly Democratic seat in New Orleans. Opposed were 176 Republicans and 39 Democrats.

From the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada issued a statement saying, “We realize the strong will for reform that exists, and we are energized that we stand closer than ever to reforming our broken health insurance system.””

“”We are going to have a complete government takeover of our health care system faster than you can say, `this is making me sick,”‘ jabbed Rep. Candice Miller, R-Mich., adding that Democrats were intent on passing “a jobs-killing, tax-hiking, deficit-exploding” bill.”

“Liberal bloggers at Huffpo and blackpoliticalthought (because we are all supposed to think the same thoughts, you see) are busy disparaging Bishop Jackson and accusing him of perpetuating “misinformation”. Matthew Palevsky (Huffington Post) writes “Bishop Jackson continued by picking up on a common misnomer that the right invented and then railed against, spending tax dollars to pay for abortions.” Good grief…I guess Mr. Palevsky and “DAD” (Dumb-AZZ-Donna, the condescending elitist reader), typical Obama drones have fallen for the semantic tricks of President Obama and the leftist demon-crats. Yes, it is factual that the Senate’s healthcare proposal does not specifically mandate abortion but what these deceptive azz-wipes fail to mention is that anytime Congress fails to exclude funding for abortion it is always included. Case and point, for the last 13 years no federal dollars were have been used to fund abortions in the District of Columbia because pro-life lawmakers specifically excluded abortion funding in the DC spending bill — that is until this year. The demon-crats successfully removed the exclusion so now your tax dollars are being used to kill off black babies otherwise known as genocide. Yes, I’m aware that I’m not suppose to follow the ramifications of that through to the logical conclusion because that makes me a “right wing loon” or worse. It fascinates me how this is lost on the “fight the power” “power to the people” types. I guess they trust the government now….because we have a black(ish) president and all.

I wonder how many religious leaders fell for President Obama’s “ethical and moral obligation” crap yesterday as he urged them to get behind this abominable plan? Too many I fear. But Obama is right it is a moral obligation. We are our brother’s keeper — so the government should leave it to us.”

Orwellian lies are one of the hallmarks of the socialist left in this country. Earlier today, in an article about SEIU and their so called union constitution, the Citizen Wells blog reported,

“Our nation’s healthcare crisis has touched every kitchen table, every worker, every boardroom, and every patient and continues to grow worse each day. 48 million people in the United States have no health insurance and hundreds of millions more are under-insured”

Please explain to me, how is it possible to have hundreds of millions more under-insured…unless, of course, you are including a great many from other countries.

The Trent Franks town hall meeting on Saturday, August 22, 2009, in Kingman, AZ is stirring up a lot of controversy. According to the Mojave Daily News, Franks was reported as saying:

“Franks said there was not enough evidence that Obama is not an American citizen. He did say there was a lot of conflicting evidence of Obama’s citizenship and that he was considering filing a lawsuit, the only congressman to do so. Franks asked why the president did not simply produce a birth certificate.””

The Citizen Wells blog has reported on the town hall meeting as well as further comments coming from representative Franks office.
A comment was posted by a citizen from AZ:

“I have emailed Rep Franks several times,…. and He has responded to me each time….by email and also snail mail letter. Pretty much saying that obama has been vetted and all is in order. MAYBE we should email him some info to WAKE UP his mind a little bit. You prepare what you want and I will make sure he gets it. I will email it and I will also send him a certified letter. WHAT do you think? (I also emailed Sen Mccain,…. but never received any response at all)”
Today we received this comment from travelbugs:

“I just got off the phone with Congressman Franks office. He said that he did not say he would pursue a lawsuit, but rather that he would pursue looking into this. I also explained that it is much more than the long form birth certificate. I further stated that he had to simultaneously ask for the college records and passport records to be opened up to fully understand the depth of this. The staffer said they have been flooded by calls today about the birth issue and he took my message down, in great detail, and promised to pass it along to the Congressman. Everyone needs to call and relay this same information. He can get a fake birth certificate, but he cannot forge the passport and college records as well. These elements are critical to bringing about the truth!”

Politico is now reporting the following:

“Franks in July: Obama ‘born in Hawaii'”

“A month before Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) told a town hall audience that there is not enough evidence that President Barack Obama is a natural-born citizen, he told an interviewer that he believes Obama was “born in Hawaii.”
According to the Mohave Daily News, on Sunday, Franks told a town hall audience in Kingman, Ariz., that there is conflicting evidence as to whether the president was born in the United States. According to the report, the Republican congressman called on Obama to produce his birth certificate and threatened to sue the president over the issue.
But in July, when a camera crew from the liberal blog FireDogLake approached Franks to ask if he believed the so-called birthers, who dispute whether Obama was born in the United States and would therefore be ineligible to serve as president, Franks made his anti-birther position pretty clear.
“I believe Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, stayed within the United States and, therefore, is a constitutionally natural-born citizen of this country,” Franks told the blog’s Mike Stark.”

The Citizen Wells blog has presented many articles about the Obama camp thuggery that has occurred over the past one and a half years and how it resembles the Nazi Brownshirt tactics and totalitarian state of “1984.” The attacks on Larry Sinclair, myself and others for questioning the “messiah”, Obama, aka Hitler, aka Big Brother, were a clue we were entering a new age foretold by George Orwell. Orwell had just witnessed the rise of the totalitarian regime of Nazi Germany. I am as pleased with myself as anything I have written for exposing the Obama camp as Nazi Brownshirts.
Here is an article from someone that has recently been shocked into believing Larry Sinclair’s story:

“After reading a bit about Larry Sinclair (yes, I do have his book, but have not had time to read it) I’ve come to wonder if Barack Obama does not have an explosive temper. We know he and those around him are resorting to something akin to racketeering to prevent Americans from expressing their opinion. Harry Reid just doesn’t understand. Neither does Nancy Pelosi. They’re losing their temper, turning nasty.”
“They are denouncing anyone who disagrees with Obama as a “Brownshirt” and calling us terrorists. If you followed Larry Sinclair’s story the past year, you will know the degree of harassment he has experienced from the same source. You get in Obama’s way and he’s gonna get you.”
“I gather this is what Sinclair has endured for the past year. We all know the White House now has an enemies list. From what I gather, Sinclair is close to the top of the list. I turned myself in today. Fortunately they are finally figuring out that what Obama’s White House has done is probably illegal.

I think we Republicans are now getting a taste of what Sinclair has endured for the past year. It isn’t pretty. In fact, it’s down-right un-American – unless you are a member of the SEIU. Then, you can do what you want, including Rush Limbaugh promoted death threats. Naturally they are blaming someone from New Mexico. If you read the tweets, I’m suspicious and suspect someone is making trouble for the guy, who is an admitted Libertarian. If you are a Union Thug, you can get away with anything, including near murder.

But – not just any Union Thug – the SEIU – OBAMA’S UNION!

Makes you think….and wonder what else Larry Sinclair is right about.”

Adolf Hitler and the Nazis blamed the Jews for their problems.

Adolf Hitler spoke of change and a new Germany.

The people of Germany got caught up in the euphoria of the changes that Hitler promised.

The Nazis bullied Jews and other segments of society.

The Nazis were elitists with talk of the Arayan Race.

The Barack Obama Campaign

The perceived economic conditions are bad. The economic conditions are perfect here compared to post War War I Germany.

Obama worked on his oratory skills. He is a superb speaker with the ability to mesmerize his followers.

Obama has been surrounded by racists, anti semites, criminals and drug users.

Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, and others have blamed white people and Jews for their problems.

Obama constantly speaks of change.

Obama supporters are caught up in the euphoria of the moment and Obama’s promise of change.

Obama has denied having records, not provided records and been extremely evasive when asked to supply records.

Obama supporters have bullied bloggers when questions about Obama or his past are asked. Some of these attacks are clearly orchestrated by the Obama Campaign. Some of these bullies have attacked family members of bloggers.

Obama has recently shown his elitist attitude during his speech in San Francisco. His arrogance parallels Hitler’s Aryan race comments in regard to Obama’s God Like omnipotence in regard to having the answers to problems.

Obama has many people fooled including many Jews that are ignoring all the evil and anti semitism surrounding Obama.

The Citizen Wells blog has been warning for many months now that the
Obama camp is very much like Brownshirts in Nazi Germany. The analogies
are many and are scary. Some people scoffed at or ridiculed the articles
but many commented in agreement. Some that appreciated the warnings
are Jewish and one had just visted a Holocaust Museum. Even Winston
Churchill was ridiculed when he gave warnings about the Nazis. A commenter on PatDollard.com, tps, has written a compelling article and warning about the Obama camp. The writer claims to be a student of history and like anyone questioning the “messiah”, Obama, has been ridiculed.

Glenn Beck tells it like it is regarding the Obama health care plan, AARP and Nazi like policy influencers like Ezekiel Emanuel and Cass Sunstein. AARP is not being honest with their members. Aside from the spectre of out of control spending of a government controlled health care plan, we are entering a new phase reminiscent of Joseph Mengele of the Nazi Regime. “Alan Keyes among 22 arrested at Notre Dame”

“Former Illinois U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes and 21 other protesters were arrested this morning when they refused to leave the Notre Dame campus during a protest of President Obama’s upcoming commencement address there, authorities said.

Keyes and the others were arrested on trespassing charges when they refused to leave campus, a university spokesman said. All 22 were being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on misdemeanor criminal trespass charges, in lieu of $250 bond each, said St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Redman.

Keyes was among a group of 26 protesters, some of them pushing baby carriages with dolls covered in fake blood, who entered the campus and were greeted by Notre Dame police, said university spokesman Dennis Brown.

The protesters had “publicized their intentions in advance,” and were handed notices advising them that university policy bans protests unless they are organized by student groups and approved in advance, Brown said.

University policy is to arrest anyone who refuses to leave campus after being notified of the policy, and Keyes and other protesters who stayed were arrested about 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time, he said.

“We’ve got a long established policy that only members of the university community can organize or lead a protest, and they have to be approved by our office of student affairs,” Brown said.”

“Notre Dame announced earlier this spring that Obama would be the commencement speaker at its May 17 graduation ceremony. Since then, Notre Dame, a Catholic university, has become the target of protests by groups who say Obama’s stance on abortion should disqualify him from speaking at a Catholic institution.”

Barack Obama held a rally in downtown Charlotte NC on Sunday, September 21, 2008. There was a large turnout and the 10,000 reserved tickets did not begin to cover the large numbers. People standing in line were told they would get in, but the majority did not. The crowd was orderly and the only commotion I observed was the banter between the anti abortion and Obama pro choice proponents.

I interviwed the anti abortion group. They were affiliated with Operation Save America. One gentleman stated:

“We want America to return to the lord. We want America to return to the Law.”

I asked for a response from someone standing in line to hear Obama. A lady stated that abortion is not genocide. She also stated that she was an independent, had seen all 3 candidates and chose Obama.

I spent several minutes talking to a gentleman that had spent 4 years
in the Marines and was now in the Army. He was aware of the Philip J
Berg lawsuit served on Obama. He was shocked at the lack of coverage by the MSM. He was also surprised at the armed forces people serving in Iraq that believed Obama would get them home sooner. Perhaps they need to read the article about Obama negotiating with Iraqi leaders to delay discussions until after the election. Obama has a lot of people fooled.

History can and does repeat itself. The evil capacity of humans
passes from generation to generation. Left unchecked, this evil
can grow to levels experienced before in history.

This blog has produced multiple articles about the similarities
between the Obama Campaign and Nazi Germany. There is another common
thread that is more alarming than the other similarities.
It is the disregard for human life and attempting to play the role
of God, which we are so incapable of. Obama has a consistent position
on abortion that panders to his base, the far left. Despite Obama
playing to the middle of the country and pretending to have Christian
values, his position is a matter of record. No amount of lying and
revisionist history can erase it.

The Nazi final solution focused on the Jews but also embraced the
concept of cleansing undesirable elements of society. No practitioner
of this philosophy is a better example than Joseph Mengele. Here is
a small sample of his evil, twisted regard for human life:

“In charge of the “selections” process, he’d show up at the prisoner transports looking quite elegant, and would decide at a glance each person’s destiny. If anyone started trouble over being separated from a relative, he might wordlessly beat or shoot them both. He appeared to have no conscience, and sent anyone with an imperfection (including imperfect height) right to the gas chamber. However, he kept the twins, as many sets of doubles as he could find. They were destined for his labs.

Mengele enjoyed his powerful position and was completely at home with his tasks. To uphold the Nazi ideal of racial purification was his driving motivation. Yet no one quite knew what to expect. Even as he separated families and killed with impunity, he might step into the role of concerned physician and whimsically allow some people to live. The power of life and death resided in him.

In his desire to improve the efficiency of the camp as a killing machine, he taught other doctors how to give phenol injections to a long line of prisoners, quickly ending their lives. He also shot people, and by some reports he tossed live babies into the crematoria. Throughout all of this, he kept a detached, efficient demeanor and viewed himself as strictly a scientist.”

Obama is documented as being the most liberal member of the senate. Obama claims to have no ties to lobbyists. Obama claims to be a Christian, but his words to not match his deeds.

David Freddoso is the author of “The Case Against Barack Obama.” He has devoted a chapter to Obama’s stance and record on abortion, “Abortion: Barack Obama’s America.” Here are some exerpts from Freddoso’s book:

“She had been told to take this baby and leave him in a soiled utility
closet.”

“Stanek offered to take the baby instead.
“I couldn’t let him die alone,” she says. “And so I held him for the forty five minutes that he lived. He moved a little bit. Of course he didn’t cry.””

“Prior to that incident, she learned that Christ (hospital) is aligned
with two Christian denominations that support legal abortion–as it
happens, one of them is Barack Obama’s former denomination, the United
Church of Christ.”

“In leaving born babies to die without treatment, Christ Hospital was
doing nothing illegal under the laws of Illinois. Doctors had no
ethical obligation to treat them. Under the law, they were non persons.”

Stanek’s state senator, Patrick O’Malley introduced three bills. Senate Bill 1095 is the more important and defined babies born alive as “persons.”

“There was no legal conflict between O’Malley’s bill and the right to
legal abortion, but Barack Obama nonetheless had problems with it.
He was a liberal, a proponent of legalized abortion.

“In June 2001, three months after Obama’s first speech against the Illinois bill, the United States Senate voted on the language of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.”

“On June 29, 2001, liberal senator Barbara Boxer of California spoke
in favor of this bill:

“Of course, we believe everyone born should deserve the protection
of this bill…Who could be more vulnerable than a newborn baby? So,
of course, we agree with that…We join with an “aye” vote on this.
I hope it will, in fact, be unanimous.”
It was unanimous, 98-0.
This same bill that Boxer was praising came before Barack Obama’s
health committee two years later, in 2003. As chairman, he bottled it
up in committee and killed it.”

Obama’s deeds are not that of a Christian.

Have you forgotten that the importance of a LONG primary contest is to give people the time needed to stop “falling in love” with a candidate — to get past the honeymoon phase — and to really take a HARD look at the candidate?

Here’s a news flash: Not only is the honeymoon over, but you are walking down the aisle and into a BAD MARRIAGE.

But note that I just wrote that you are still “walking down the aisle.”

There is time to turn around and walk out.

You have precisely one week left to come to your senses.”
