John Woodman book, Is Barack Obama’s Birth Certificate a Fraud?,  Computer guy, Market Watch article, Citizen Wells emails Woodman

“Why has Obama, since taking the White House, used Justice Department Attorneys, at taxpayer expense,  to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells and millions of concerned Americans

I posted the following article at Citizen News this afternoon.

“From Market Watch Aug. 30, 2011.

“‘Tea-Party Conservative’ Refutes Claims of Obama Birth Certificate Forgery”

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — New book details 3-month investigation that found “no credible evidence” of fraud

“As Tea Partiers flock to hear Sarah Palin speak in Iowa this Saturday, one conservative who identifies with the movement is busy shredding the “expert claims” that President Barack Obama’s birth certificate is forged.

And John Woodman insists that what might be seen by some as odd behavior for a conservative is, in fact, completely in harmony with the Tea Party’s “Restoring America” theme.

“I didn’t set out to disprove the forgery claims,” he says. “I set out to discover the truth. And truth, even when some may find it inconvenient, is definitely one of the values we need to preserve and restore in our society.”

In this case, unraveling the truth took Woodman, a computer professional with 20 years’ experience, a full 3 months of careful investigation. He meticulously researched more than 30 different claims of evidence that Mr. Obama’s birth certificate is forged – and ended up dismissing them all.

“There are certainly a lot of odd and interesting things about the birth certificate,” he says. “But in spite of what you’ve heard, not one of them amounts to credible evidence that it’s a fraud.”

A related survey by Mr. Woodman suggests at least two-thirds of Americans have heard the rumors that President Obama’s birth certificate – publicly released by the White House in the form of a computer PDF file – is an obvious and proven forgery. And those claims have been backed up by an entire panel of experts showcased by conservative website WorldNetDaily. But Woodman says that all of “their experts” are wrong – and that his detailed analysis proves it.

The full story of the investigation is being released nationwide today in a 221-page book titled Is Barack Obama’s Birth Certificate a Fraud? A Computer Guy Examines the Evidence for Forgery. The book, with more than 70 illustrations, is available through Amazon and other major outlets, in both paperback and e-book formats.

Woodman says his investigation also reveals mysteries about the birth certificate not talked about anywhere else: “In about 20 different instances, I’ve presented information that is either entirely new, or very little known until now.”

But is he worried that WorldNetDaily’s panel of experts will be able to counter his analysis?

“I’m always willing to be proven wrong. But I’d say they’re the ones who are now going to have to backtrack,” he replies. “So it will be interesting to see what happens from here.”

I have over 30 years experience in IT including OCR and a strong technical background. I sent John Woodman the following email a few minutes ago:

“Hi John.
I do not know you & I do not know what your motives are.
However, before I potentially “let you have it,”
how do you account for the following:
1. No chain of document.
2. I assume you have not seen the original.
3. It is clearly not a photostatic copy of an original HI long form
birth certificate.

There is plenty more.
Do you wish to respond before I put an article up?
Or debate?
Let me know.
Thanks.”

I will keep you posted.”

I have engaged in a rather extensive email exchange with John Woodman since posting that article. I will be evaluating what he has written and responding soon. Mr. Woodman has welcomed my scrutiny of his research.

Dick Cheney outs Colin Powell, Powell agenda must be scrutinized, Cheney book sheds light on Powell and Patrick Fitzgerald, Libby and Rove victims

“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”…Thomas Paine

Citizen Wells readers, fellow Americans, we have a three for one, a trifecta, in this article. While the focus of the article is on Colin Powell, the real Colin Powell, whose agenda now must be scrutinized, Patrick Fitzgerald and the Chicago Tribune will be exposed for their agenda. But first, Powell.

Dick Cheney has a new book out, “In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir.”  Cheney was interviewed by Rush Limbaugh today. During the interview Cheney explained that Colin Powell knew that Richard Armitage was the source of the Valerie Plame leak and allowed Scooter Libby and Karl Rove to be investigated. Cheney also mentioned our good friend Patrick Fitzgerald, who was recently praised by the Chicago Tribune for being apolitical. More on that later.

From the Washington Post August 29, 2011.

“Colin Powell’s cheap shot”

“On “Face the Nation” yesterday, former secretary of state Colin Powell accused former vice president Dick Cheney of taking “cheap shots” in his about-to-be released memoirs. However, in taking on Cheney’s account of the Valerie Plame matter, Powell is the one who misleads and distorts.

Powell had this to say in response to Cheney’s book, which lays blame on Powell’s deputy Richard Armitage as the real leaker who revealed Plame’s identity as a CIA employee, setting off the appointment of a special prosecutor and the eventual conviction of Scooter Libby. Powell says this:

Then he goes on to talk about the Valerie Plame affair, and tries to lay it all off on Mister Rich Armitage in the State Department and me. But the fact of the matter is when Mister Armitage realized that he was the source for Bob Novak’s column that caused all the difficulty and he called me immediately, two days after the President launched the investigation and what we did was we called the Justice Department. They sent it over the FBI. The FBI had all the information that Mister Armitage’s participation in this immediately. And we called Al Gonzalez, the President’s counsel, and told him that we had information. The FBI asked us not to share any of this with anyone else, as did Mister Gonzalez. And so, if the White House operatives had come forward as readily as Mister Armitage had done, then we wouldn’t have gone on for two more months with the FBI trying to find out what happened in the White House.

There wouldn’t have been special counsel appointed by the Justice Department who spent two years trying to get to the bottom of it. And we wouldn’t have the mess that we subsequently had. And so if the White House and the operatives in the White House and Mister Cheney’s staff and elsewhere in the White House had been as forthcoming with the FBI as Mister Armitage was, this problem would not have reached the dimensions that it reached.

Let’s count the ways in which this is inaccurate or misleading. To begin with, Powell leaves out the critical fact: He and Armitage never told the president what Armitage had done. Instead, they sat silent as the investigation played out and others, including Karl Rove and Libby, were ensnared in an investigation for a crime that, if committed at all, was one for which Armitage should rightly have been prosecuted. Powell on Sunday slyly said they informed the attorney general that they “had information.” But they most definitely did not tell him, the president or the country that the leaker was Armitage.

The best account of this comes from Michael Isikoff, hardly a Cheney or Libby apologist. In his book, he explained what unfolded after Armitage told Powell about his role in the leak:

The next day, a team of FBI agents and Justice prosecutors investigating the leak questioned the deputy secretary. Armitage acknowledged that he had passed along to Novak information contained in a classified State Department memo: that [ Joe] Wilson’s wife worked on weapons-of-mass-destruction issues at the CIA… [William Howard Taft IV, the State Department’s legal adviser] felt obligated to inform White House counsel Alberto Gonzales. But Powell and his aides feared the White House would then leak that Armitage had been Novak’s source — possibly to embarrass State Department officials who had been unenthusiastic about Bush’s Iraq policy. So Taft told Gonzales the bare minimum: that the State Department had passed some information about the case to Justice. He didn’t mention Armitage. Taft asked if Gonzales wanted to know the details. The president’s lawyer, playing the case by the book, said no, and Taft told him nothing more. Armitage’s role thus remained that rarest of Washington phenomena: a hot secret that never leaked. [Emphasis added.]
Notice that in Isikoff’s account the FBI never told Armitage and Powell to keep quiet. No, the secrecy was their idea. Moreover, Powell states that White House aides were not “forthcoming.” We know, of course, this is false. Numerous aides were dragged into FBI interview and grand jury rooms, required to pay for counsel and, in the case of Libby, prosecuted and convicted while the actual leaker’s identity remained secret. Talk about cheap shots.

Recall how all of this played out. Armitage and Powell allowed the entire country and troops in the field to believe a lie, namely that the White House had “outed” Plame. This, aside from the galling display of moral cowardice, also put the president’s reelection in jeopardy since Democrats were all too intent on making this into a huge scandal.

The extent of the dishonesty is quite stunning. In a Cabinet meeting on October 7, 2003, the White House press corps bombarded President George W. Bush with questions about who the leaker was. Bush said he didn’t know, but there would be an investigation to get to the bottom of it. Powell, who had been told by Armitage just days earlier that Armitage was the leaker, sat there next to the president, stone silent. Not very loyal or honest, was it?

Moreover, the notion that Armitage’s slip was somehow inadvertent is belied by Bob Woodward’s taped interview in which Armitage repeatedly mentions Joe Wilson’s wife, evidently doing his best to get Plame’s identity out there. This was no slip of the tongue. Woodward testified that when he spoke to Libby sometime later that Libby never said anything about Plame.

At issue here is not simply Powell and Armitage’s deception and undermining of their commander in chief. There was a victim, one whom neither Powell or Armitage has ever apologized to. The person who ultimately paid the price for this was Scooter Libby. Had the president and the country known about Armitage, a special prosecutor would never have been appointed. Libby was eventually convicted on the basis of a he-said-he-said dispute between his recollection and that of the late Tim Russert. (Charges concerning Libby’s alleged comments to Judy Miller were dismissed, and he was acquitted on the count involving Matt Cooper.) A compelling case for Libby’s innocence can be found in this account by Stan Crock.

Powell may be peeved at being fingered by Cheney. But on this one Cheney has him dead to rights. The Plame is a blot on his record and that of Armitage.

Maybe it is time to own up and make amends rather than bristling at Libby’s former boss.”

From Citizen Wells August 15, 2011.

“On August 8, 2011, the Birther Summit issued a challenge to General Powell  based on the following:

“It was reported in May of this year that you told South Carolina State University’s 400 graduates that you particularly enjoyed a recent event: “. . . when President Obama took out his birth certificate and blew away Donald Trump and all the birthers!””

Despite the fact that you have been informed that the image placed on WhiteHouse.gov was fraudulent, you have failed to respond to the challenge. I have no other recourse than to call you a traitor and coward. I will say this to your face unless you respond according to your oath.”

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn Department of Human Rights Tea Party email, Alvin Forbes Sr. forwarded email, Blames Tea Party Glenn Beck Palin

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn Department of Human Rights Tea Party email, Alvin Forbes Sr. forwarded email, Blames Tea Party Glenn Beck Palin

“As usual, the face of Emmanuel Goldstein, the Enemy of the people, had flashed onto the screen. There were hisses here and there among the audience. The little sandyhaired woman gave a squeak of mingled fear and disgust. Goldstein was the renegade and backslider who once, long ago (how long ago, nobody quite remembered), had been one of the leading figures of the party, almost on a level with Big Brother himself, and then had engaged in counterrevolutionary activities , had been condemned to death, and had mysteriously escaped and disappeared. The program of the Two Minutes Hate varied from day to day, but there was none in which Goldstein was not the principal figure. He was the primal traitor, the earliest defiler of the Party’s purity. All subsequent crimes against the Party, all treacheries, acts of sabotage, heresies, deviations, sprang directly out of his teaching. Somewhere or other he was still alive and hatching his conspiracies: perhaps somewhere beyond the sea, under the protection of his foreign paymasters; perhaps even–so it was occasionally rumored–in some hiding place in Oceania itself.”

“Goldstein was delivering his usual venomous attack upon the doctrines of the Party–an attack so exaggerated and perverse that a child should have been able to see through it, and yet just plausible enough to fill one with an alarmed feeling that other people, less level-headed than oneself, might be taken in by it. He was abusing Big Brother, he was denouncing the dictatorship of the Party, he was demanding the immediate conclusion of peace with Eurasia, he was advocating freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of thought”…George Orwell, “1984″

From the Chicago Tribune August 29, 2011.

“Anti-tea party e-mail leads to slap on wrist for human rights investigator”

“An investigator for Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn’s human rights agency got a slap on the wrist for forwarding an e-mail before last November’s election that contended the Republican Party had been hijacked by “dangerous, radical hate mongers called the ‘Tea Party.’ ”

The e-mail, sent on a state computer, claimed talk show host Glenn Beck and former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin led the tea party effort to “take down President Obama and the government.”

Following an investigation, officials at the Illinois Department of Human Rights delivered a verbal reprimand to Alvin Forbes Sr. in the spring. The case came to light Monday when the state’s Executive Ethics Commission published the details on its web site.

The pro-Democratic e-mail urged readers to fight at the ballot box against a tea party political coup because “these people hate blacks. They hate Latinos. They hate Muslims and have at times made many anti-Semitic statements. They hate gays. They hate any moderate Republican who might be likely to cooperate with Obama.”

Forbes, 56, of Chicago, said in an interview that the case against him was “petty as hell.” He called the reprimand “bogus,” saying he sent the e-mail accidentally to some of his co-workers. He said his sister had sent it to him.”

Chad Fornoff, executive director of the Executive Ethics Commission, said the violation “was egregious enough to warrant publication” on its web site. The commission can opt not to publish a case unless discipline includes several days’ suspension.

Forbes said he was grilled about the incident by two officials and the executive inspector general’s office reviewed his e-mails back to January 2003. When he learned of the recommendation for discipline, Forbes said, “I’m looking at this thing and thinking, ‘Wow, we’ve got much bigger fish to fry.’ ”

In its explanation, the Human Rights Department noted Forbes was given an oral reprimand for political activity on his state computer and it took into account Forbes had “no prior discipline and his work performance has been good.”

“Even though I may think (the punishment) was not appropriate, it’s the lowest level of discipline that they could initiate,” Forbes said. “And they had to do something to justify what they are doing.””

Virginia earthquake, Nuclear plant design exceeded?, Dominion Resources North Anna nuclear plant, Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection team

Virginia earthquake, Nuclear plant design exceeded?, Dominion Resources North Anna nuclear plant, Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection team

From Reuters August 29, 2011.

“Virginia quake may have exceeded nuclear plant design”

“The historic earthquake that shut Dominion Resources Inc’s North Anna nuclear plant in Virginia last week may have shaken the facility more than it was designed to withstand, the U.S. nuclear regulator said on Monday.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said it had sent a special inspection team to the plant rocked by the 5.8-magnitude quake, after initial reviews from Dominion indicated the ground motion may have exceeded North Anna’s design parameters.

The plant cannot be restarted until the operator can show no “functional damage” occurred to equipment needed for safe operation, the NRC said.

“The company and the NRC will continue to carefully evaluate information to determine if additional actions may be necessary,” the regulator said in a statement.

It will probably take about three or four weeks before the team’s preliminary findings are released, NRC spokesman Roger Hannah said. He would not speculate on how long the plant might be closed, saying it would depend on the team’s assessment.

If it does turn out that the quake exceeded North Anna’s design specifications, Hannah said the team’s analysis could find that the plant could withstand quakes stronger than what was originally intended.

But the team could also call for changes such as back fitting or reinforcing equipment for more powerful earthquakes.

“It could be they would be shut down for a while, we just don’t know at this point,” Hannah said.

MORE KNOWN MIDWEEK

Dominion said the North Anna reactors, which entered service in 1978 and 1980, were designed for an earthquake of up to 6.2 magnitude, but the NRC does not use that scale to measure seismic design specifications. Instead, the commission looks at ground-motion measurements.

Dominion spokesman Rick Zuercher said on Monday that more will be known by midweek about whether the quake exceeded the station’s design as further analysis is conducted on seismic plates from the station’s containment building.”

“As soon as all the corrections which happened to be necessary in any partiucular number of the Times had been assembled and collated, that number would be reprinted, the original copy destroyed, and the corrected copy placed on the files in it’s stead. This process of continuation alteration was applied not only to newspapers, but to books, periodicals, pamphlets, posters, leaflets, films, sound tracks, cartoons, photographs–to every kind of literature or documentation which might conceivably hold any political or ideological significance. Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to be correct; nor was any item of news, or expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to be on record.”…George Orwell, “1984″

“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed
–if all records told the same tale–then the lie passed into
history and became truth. “Who controls the past,” ran the
Party slogan, “controls the future: who controls the present
controls the past.”…George Orwell, “1984″

From World Net Daily August 28, 2011.

“Brian Williams
The names are legendary: Edward R. Murrow, Eric Sevareid, Walter Cronkite, Paul Harvey, Peter Jennings, David Brinkley and Chet Huntley.

All powerfully influential in their time because of their positions delivering the news to Americans.

Now follows NBC’s Brian Williams, picked in a new scientific poll as the media personality thought to be the most influential in America today – even though his liberal bent is so well-known President Obama himself publicly joked about being in bed with him.

One in four respondents picked NBC’s Williams in response to the question, “Of the people on this list I am going to read to you, please tell me which media personality do you think is the most influential figure in America today?”

Williams beat Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Oprah Winfrey.

The results come from a scientific telephone survey of nearly l,100 respondents conducted Aug. 20-22 with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.93 percentage points, according to Wenzel Strategies, which worked on the project.
Williams was picked by 31 percent of the Democrats, 21.9 percent of the Republicans and 21.4 percent of the independents responding to the poll, for a total of 24.8 percent of all those who answered. Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly was second with 17.7 percent of the vote, talk show entertainer Oprah Winfrey third with 16.6 percent, ABC’s Diane Sawyer fourth with 13.7 percent and Rush Limbaugh fifth at 11.7 percent.

Fox News’ Sean Hannity had 6.4 percent, CBS’ Scott Pelley was at 3.6 percent, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer at 3.1 percent and Bill Maher brought up the end with 2.4 percent.

The Media Research Center has profiled Williams’ liberal bent a number of times: when he equated elite U.S. military members with terrorist bombers, when he championed leftist U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi for “making history,” when he asked a World War II veteran who was part of the crew that delivered the war-ending atomic bomb on Hiroshima whether he was remorseful, and when he giddily touted “two for the price of one” when interviewing Bill Clinton about Hillary Clinton’s run for the presidency, among many other incidents.

It was in 2009 when Obama was addressing the 65th Annual Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner that the president acknowledged that mainstream journalists are to be credited with making him a celebrity and even joked that an NBC news anchor is in bed with him

“I have to admit though, it wasn’t easy coming up with fresh material for this dinner,” Obama said. “A few nights ago, I was up tossing and turning trying to figure out exactly what to say. Finally, when I couldn’t get back to sleep, I rolled over and asked Brian Williams what he thought.””
