“There’s no other way to say this. The official unemployment rate, which cruelly overlooks the suffering of the long-term and often permanently unemployed as well as the depressingly underemployed, amounts to a Big Lie.”…Gallup CEO Jim Clifton

“In today’s labor market, there are nearly 1 million “missing” young workers—potential workers who are neither employed nor actively seeking work (and are thus not counted in the unemployment rate) because job opportunities remain so scarce. If these missing workers were in the labor market looking for work, the unemployment rate of workers under age 25 would be 18.1 percent instead of 14.5 percent.”…Economic Policy Institute May 1, 2014

The US economy contracted .7 percent instead of the sluggish .2 reported earlier.

Not to worry, it’s just another anomaly, probably the harsh winter brought on by climate change.

From Zero Hedge May 29, 2015.

“”Welcome To The Contraction”: Q1 GDP Drops By 0.7%, Corporate Profits Crash”

“And you thought the preliminary 0.2% Q1 GDP print from last month was bad. Moments ago, just as we warned, the BEA released its latest, first, revision of Q1 GDP (pre second-seasonal adjustments of course), and we just got confirmation that for the third time in the past four years, the US economy suffered a quarterly contraction, with the Q1 GDP revised drastically from a 0.2% growth to a drop of -0.7%: the worst print since snow struck, so very unexpectedly, last winter.”

.

“Incidentally, there has not been a US “expansion” with three negative quarters in it in the past 60 years.

Worse, the breakdown shows that far from being a non-core slowdown, consumption rose just 1.8%, below the 2.0% expected, and contributed just 1.23% of the bottom line GDP number. This was the worst Personal Spending contribution since Q1 of last year, when revised GDP dropped by -2.11%.”

From the White House April 29, 2015.

“Economic growth in the first quarter was restrained by factors including tepid foreign demand and harsh winter weather. At the same time, households saved most of their gains from low energy prices, Over the past four quarters, the most persistent and stable components of GDP — consumption and fixed investment — have grown 3.3 percent. This trend complements the strong pace of job growth and unemployment reduction over the last year. This report underscores that the U.S. economy is directly affected by the global economy, making clear the importance of advancing Trade Promotion Authority in Congress so the President can take further steps to open up markets abroad to increase U.S. exports and expand opportunities for the middle class. In addition, we could further solidify the positive trends in the domestic economy by expanding investments in infrastructure and ensuring the sequester does not return in the next fiscal year as outlined in the President’s FY2016 Budget.”

Janet Yellen was mystified by millennials’ behaviour.

Apparently so is the media.

From Market Watch May 28, 2015.

“Why ‘Generation Rent’ is reluctant to buy houses”

“The fact that “Generation Rent” — 25- to 34-year-olds in the U.S. — isn’t getting off the fence when it comes to buying homes has been well documented. Even with near record-low interest rates, just 38% of this cohort — also known as millennials — owned homes in 2012, according to CoreLogic, compared with nearly 52% of the same age group in 1980, when mortgage rates were in the double digits.”

“Carrington Mortgage Services, a Santa Ana, Calif.-based mortgage lender and servicer, surveyed millennials about home ownership and then did something unique: it sorted the responses by category, and then broke them out by region in the United States.

What they discovered should make real estate agents and loan officers pay attention, because what’s keeping millennials from buying a home in one part of the country isn’t true in another.”

““Student loan debt is universal,” he said. “What does vary is how significant that becomes to the overall equation.””

From Citizen Wells March 1, 2015.

“At least 9 million native born Americans being added to the labor force and immigrants taking native born American jobs.

There was an increase of over 12 million not in the labor force since Obama took office.

The youngest members of the workforce, 16 and above will be hit the hardest by immigrant workers.

And all of those jobs that Obama bragged about and Janet Yellen and others referred to….

Of the approx. 6 million new employments since Obama took office in January 2009, 4,511,000 were Hispanic/Latino!

We have barely, if at all,  recovered all of the jobs lost during the recession and 75% of the job growth went to Hispanic/Latinos!!””

“Janet Yellen: Millennials are a mystery”

“Millennials are a bit of a mystery to Janet Yellen.

The head of the U.S. Federal Reserve said Tuesday that the behavior of millennials — which typically refers to a generation of people born in the 80s and 90s — has top economists scratching their heads.

“I think we’re just beginning to understand how the millennials are behaving,” Yellen said before the Senate Banking Committee. “They’re certainly waiting longer to buy houses; to get married. They have a lot of student debt. They seem quite worried about housing as an investment. They’ve had a tough time in the job market.”

As the economy continues to gain strength, Yellen said she expects more millennials to buy homes and start families. “But,” she quipped, “we’ve yet to really see how this is going to affect that generation.””

“Census Bureau: 30.3% Millennials Still Living With Their Parents”

“From the Economic Policy Institute May 1, 2014.

“This paper’s title, The Class of 2014, is admittedly something of a misnomer, as we do not yet know the labor market outcomes of these soon-to-be graduates. However, the outcomes of recent high school and college graduates provide a good sense of the labor market conditions the young men and women graduating this spring will face. This briefing paper examines the labor market that confronts young graduates who are not enrolled in further schooling—specifically, high school graduates age 17–20 and college graduates age 21–24. We look at young graduates who are not enrolled in further schooling in an attempt to focus as closely as possible on the labor market outcomes of those who are starting their careers. ”

“Key findings include:”

  • “In today’s labor market, there are nearly 1 million “missing” young workers—potential workers who are neither employed nor actively seeking work (and are thus not counted in the unemployment rate) because job opportunities remain so scarce. If these missing workers were in the labor market looking for work, the unemployment rate of workers under age 25 would be 18.1 percent instead of 14.5 percent.
  • Unemployment and underemployment rates among young graduates are improving but remain substantially higher than before the recession began.
    • For young college graduates, the unemployment rate is currently 8.5 percent (compared with 5.5 percent in 2007), and the underemployment rate is 16.8 percent (compared with 9.6 percent in 2007).
    • For young high school graduates, the unemployment rate is 22.9 percent (compared with 15.9 percent in 2007), and the underemployment rate is 41.5 percent (compared with 26.8 percent in 2007).
  • Overall unemployment rates of young graduates mask substantial disparities in unemployment by race and ethnicity. The unemployment rates of blacks and Hispanics are substantially higher than the unemployment rates of white non-Hispanics, for both young high school graduates and young college graduates.
  • The large increases since 2007 in the unemployment and underemployment rates of young college graduates, and in the share of employed young college graduates working in jobs that do not require a college degree, underscore that the current unemployment crisis among young workers did not arise because today’s young adults lack the right education or skills. Rather, it stems from weak demand for goods and services, which makes it unnecessary for employers to significantly ramp up hiring.
  • The long-run wage trends for young graduates are bleak, with wages substantially lower today than in 2000. Since 2000, the real (inflation-adjusted) wages of young high school graduates have dropped 10.8 percent, and those of young college graduates have dropped 7.7 percent.
  • The erosion of job quality for young graduates is also evident in their declining likelihood of receiving employer-provided health insurance or pensions.
  • Graduating in a bad economy has long-lasting economic consequences. For the next 10 to 15 years, those in the Class of 2014 will likely earn less than if they had graduated when job opportunities were plentiful.”

“HIGH STUDENT DEBT EQUALS FEWER HOME BUYERS”

“Going to college usually leads to better jobs and better pay, but it’s also left many people dangerously in debt and unable to buy a house years after they leave school.

A pair of reports in the past two days illustrate the point. The percentage of student loans at least 90 days overdue rose to 11.3% from 11.1% in the final three months of 2014, the New York Federal Reserve said Tuesday.

While delinquencies have fallen from a record 11.8% in 2013, they are still almost twice as high as they were 10 years earlier.

Then on Wednesday the government reported that construction of new homes fell slightly to a 1.06 million annual pace in January. While sales have been rising gradually, they still aren’t increasing nearly as fast as expected almost six years into an recovery. And the percentage of buyers purchasing their first home is still unusually low.

In a fully functioning economy, housing starts should be running around 1.4 million to 1.8 million a year, analysts estimate.

Clearly the weight of student loans is too heavy for many young people to buy a single-family home. Many can’t qualify for a loan in an era of tougher lending standards or afford the monthly cost of a mortgage.””

Memorial Day Monday May 25, 2015, World War hero Pastor Gerald C. Primm obituary, P-38 Lightning fighter pilot, Greensboro News Record obituary, Distinguished Flying Cross

“But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”….Isaiah 40:31

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed,
If you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly,
You may come to the moment when you will have to fight
with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.”…Winston Churchill

God I love that generation, World War II, “The greatest generation.”

They are passing at an alarming rate and creating an increasing vacuum of integrity and accountability.

Will it be filled?

Can it be filled?

The following article deserves repeating.

From Citizen Wells May 29, 2011.

“I have read many obituaries. I always look for the ones of Word War II veterans. It is my way of thanking them for their sacrifices. Today I was presented an obituary that left me in awe and with respect for a shining example from the Greatest Generation. It is fitting that the world celebrate and give thanks for the life of Pastor Gerald C. Primm, a war hero and man of God.

From the Greensboro News and Record Obituaries, Sunday, May 29, 2011, Memorial Day Weekend.

“Gerald joined the Army Air Force during WWII to fight for his country. He became a Fighter Pilot flying the P-38 Lightning. During the war years he flew 56 combat missions (Note: only had to fly 50 but volunteered for 6 more). His exploits as a fighter pilot ranged from starting his European service in Casablanca, to starting his combat missions in Mateur, Tunisia in Northern Africa and in escorting bombers to Sardinia. After Sardinia was liberated by the Allies, he was stationed at Sardinia where he suffered from a bout of yellow jaundice. From Sardinia Gerald was stationed at Gioia del Colle on Italy proper.

He flew six combat missions out of Gioia del Colle – the most harrowing was the mission to escort bombers to bomb a ball-bearing plant in Wiener-Neustadt, Austria. When the bombers arrived at Wiener-Neustadt they had to abort their mission due to weather, but this just started the travails of Gerald as bandits (enemy) were spotted and Gerald counted about 25 of them and then another 35 were spotted for a total of 60. Outnumbered by 60 to 16, Gerald’s plane was fixed upon and a bullet knocked out his hydraulic system and one engine, thus his wing flaps were not maneuverable and his landing gear would not deploy. Gerald dismissed bailing out over Yugoslavia and decided to skim the mountain tops and glide over the Adriatic Sea. To compound Gerald’s problems a German plane was coming in for the kill and one of Gerald’s fellow pilots, Jim Advey, came to the rescue and drove the enemy fighter away. They remained life-long friends after the war. Gerald’s Wiener-Neustadt escapade ended as he spotted an airfield north of Foggia, Italy and Gerald crash landed at 130 miles an hour without the plane somersaulting down the runway.
The remaining number of his 50 missions would be flown out of Foggia airfields which included escorting bombers to bomb the infamous Ploesti oil refineries in Rumania. Other exploits included flying from England to Algiers and having to emergency land on Gibraltar because one engine had failed. But the most noteworthy assignment of the war came about after Gerald had received the promotion to captain and volunteered for more missions (6) beyond his obligatory requirement of 50. At this time he was called into the office of Lt. General Ira Eaker, Mediterranean Commander, USAAF at King Victor Emmanuel’s Palace where he was asked if he knew about the upcoming invasion of Southern France. Once Gerald said no, Eaker informed him that he had been selected to fly Lt. General Jacob Devers, Supreme Allied Commander of the Mediterranean, in a specially modified P-38 to view the invasion on August 15, 1944, called Operation Dragoon. This Gerald did as he and the General, as well as 7 other Generals flew out of Corsica to view the invasion of Southern France by the Allies.

For his exploits in WWII Gerald received the Distinguished Flying Cross awarded for “Heroism or Extraordinary Achievement” and the Air Medal with nine oak leaf clusters. In addition he received the Asian-Pacific Theatre Ribbon, Europe-Africa-Mediterranean Theater Ribbon with three battle stars and Distinguished Unit Citation.

After the war Gerald attempted to pick up his college education that had been interrupted by the war years by attending the UNC-Chapel Hill and moving to Texas to attend Baylor University. But a higher calling was in the offing for Gerald as he felt led to enter the Christian ministry as a Southern Baptist Preacher/Pastor. At about the same time he met the love of his life Ethel Brown at the First Baptist Church in Sanford where Ethel was Educational Director. Their marriage on December 28, 1948 formed a magnificent partnership in serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until Ethel’s death on January 10, 2006. “

“Gerald also took a stand for Civil Rights as evidenced by his bold and heroic actions in the 1950′s at his church in Raleigh which was located beside Shaw University, a black college. Some of the leaders of the church told Gerald that four Shaw University Students (African American) were attempting to enter the church to worship and these officials would not let them. Gerald rebuked them and told the officials to let them come in to worship. The next week Gerald, from the pulpit, resigned as pastor saying the courageous and truthful words to some members of the congregation that “their hearts were blacker than the faces of the students they barred from the place of worship”. This incident made statewide, national, and international news and brought Gerald great admiration from the African-American communities in Raleigh and threats from others. To the church’s credit they received the rebuke from their pastor and voted to rescind his resignation.
Gerald Primm was a war hero and a hero of the faith, but to the ones who loved him and knew him the most he was a loving friend, pastor, mentor, husband, brother, son and father. “

Thank God for the life of Pastor Gerald C. Primm

You have to believe that the folks producing the reports in the mainstream media about the economy and in this case housing starts, are not as stupid as they appear.

It is all about protecting Obama and the hell with the facts.

You have probably read or heard the exciting news, which further stimulated the financial markets, about the big jump in housing starts in April. The so called 20 percent increase.

Here is the truth.

First from Zero Hedge.

“Following two ugly months of dramatically missed expectations, Housing Starts exploded to ‘recovery’ highs (highest since Nov 2007) jumping 20.2% MoM to 1.135million (against 1.015 exp.).”

“Well these huge mal-investment spikes make perfect sense in light of the collapse in lumber prices (and thus demand).”

Here is the report.

“NEW RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION IN APRIL 2015
The U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development jointly announced the following new residential
construction statistics for April 2015:”

“HOUSING STARTS
Privately-owned housing starts in April were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,135,000. This is 20.2 percent (±14.4%) above the
revised March estimate of 944,000 and is 9.2 percent (±10.6%)* above the April 2014 rate of 1,039,000.
Single-family housing starts in April were at a rate of 733,000; this is 16.7 percent (±10.6%) above the revised March figure of 628,000.
The April rate for units in buildings with five units or more was 389,000.”

Click to access newresconst.pdf

Let’s examine it.

First, the 20 percent increase was for privately owned which includes single and multi family. We all know that rentals are where the action is since fewer people are able to afford homes, especially millenials.

The single family increase was 16.7 percent, but hold on:

A. The increase was over March which had dropped significantly.
B. There is a statistical sampling error of +- 10.6 percent.
C. The single family starts was 733,000.
D. That is 61 percent of the April 2007 figure of 1,197,000.
E. That is 41 percent of the best number for the Bush presidency in Nov. 2005 of 1,808,000.

“The fact that the Secretary exclusively used and maintained a private email server, leaving her with sole and unfettered access to the complete universe of her emails, raises a number of transparency and accountability issues. The fact that the Secretary’s attorneys selfselected the emails to be shared with the State Department raises numerous questions about the completeness of the production of Secretary Clinton’s emails to the Committee, as well as more generally in response to other oversight inquiries by the House with which the Committee has been charged. These questions, which have been raised solely due to the actions of the former Secretary, necessitate a third-party review of the server to ensure that all responsive documents have been produced to the Committee.”…Trey Gowdy, Select Committee on Benghazi update May 8, 2015

“From the NY Times June 23, 2000.

“Statement on Travel Office Inquiry

WASHINGTON, June 22 — Following is the statement today by the independent counsel Robert W. Ray on his investigation of the firings at the White House travel office in 1993:

The office of the independent counsel has concluded an investigation commonly known as the travel office matter. This matter concerned allegations that David Watkins, former assistant to the president for management and administration, and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton made false statements in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1001, committed perjury in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1621, or obstructed justice in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1503, in connection with their statements and testimony concerning the May 19, 1993, firing of seven employees of the White House travel office. Independent counsel has concluded that the evidence was insufficient to prove that Mr. Watkins or Mrs. Clinton made any knowingly false statements, committed perjury or obstructed justice in this matter.”

“In contrast to the cooperation received from the White House in the F.B.I. files investigation, concluded in March of this year, this office experienced substantial resistance in its efforts to obtain relevant evidence in the travel office matter.

For example, the White House asserted unfounded privileges that were later rejected in court.

White House officials also conducted inadequate searches for documents and failed to make timely production of documents, including relevant e-mails, in their possession.”

From the Final Report of the Independent Counsel Robert Ray January 5, 2001.

Appendix 3 – White House’s non compliance with subpoena requests for electronically maintained documents.

“I. INTRODUCTION

As of the date of the filing of this Final Report, the White House has failed to produce all documents to which this Office is entitled. Grand juries in the Eastern District of Arkansas and the District of Columbia between March 4, 1994 and December 10, 1998 issued 216 subpoenas to the White House and its affiliates, which required the search of records responsive to those
subpoenas, including all electronic records and e-mails. The Independent Counsel first learned from news accounts in February 2000 that the White House may not have conducted complete searches of records within its custody. It was not until several months later that this Office fully realized the scope of the White House’s lack of compliance with lawfully issued subpoenas.

II. THE INDEPENDENT COUNSEL LEARNED IN FEBRUARY 2000
THAT ELECTRONIC RECORDS FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE
ADMINISTRATION MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SEARCHED
IN COMPLIANCE WITH LAWFULLY ISSUED SUBPOENAS.

The Washington Times published a story on February 15, 2000 that first alerted the public and the Independent Counsel that, due to a glitch in the White House’s computer server, over 100,000 e-mails were never searched in response to subpoenas. The Independent Counsel, as well as several Congressional investigations issued these subpoenas to the White House. The Washington Times article reported that Northrop Grumman Corporation (“NGC”) contractors
working at the White House discovered that one of the four White House Lotus Notes e-mail servers handling the e-mail for about 500 computer users had been mislabeled, preventing these e-mails from being properly managed.1 The contractors first discovered the problem in May 1998 and determined that it affected servers dating back to August 1996.2 The problem was not
fixed until November 1998 according to the article.3

The White House Counsel sent a letter to the Independent Counsel on March 15, 2000 detailing the problems with its computer system and its failure to capture certain incoming e-mails for certain periods of time.4 These records had not been reconstructed, and therefore, White House Counsel Beth Nolan was unable to determine whether any responsive documents to grand jury subpoenas had been affected.5 The White House Counsel recently revealed on October 30, 2000 that “incoming e-mail” could include any e-mail not a part of the Executive
Office of the President’s (“EOP”) Automated Records Management System (“ARMS”), such as the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the various units which report to the White House Military Office, the White House Access and Visitor Entry System (“WAVES”), any user of the All-in-One system, and the Quorum system.6

This Office initiated an investigation as a result of the White House’s failure to notify this Office of the problems with its computer system and its inability to certify that all responsive documents to lawfully issued grand jury subpoenas have been produced. The investigation continues at the time of the filing of this Final Report. However, this Office has determined that the White House’s failure to search all records within its care, custody, and control, in response
to lawfully issued subpoenas, could be broken down into seven categories of records:

1. Failure to search reconstructed e-mail for the time period of January 1993 through June 1994;
2. Failure to search incoming e-mails to 526 users for the time period of August
1996 through November 1998;
3. Failure to search incoming e-mails of approximately 200 users for the time period of November 1998 through May 1999;
4. Failure to search over 600 backup tapes of former employees’ hard drives;
5. Failure to search incoming e-mail from the Office of the U.S. Trade
Representative, White House Military Office, WAVES system, and any user of
the All-in-One system;
6. Failure to search a correspondence database system known as Quorum; and
7. Failure to search the internal e-mail system in the Executive Residence.”

From the House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy May 14, 2015.

“Benghazi Committee Releases Letter on State Department Compliance Failure, Clinton

May 14, 2015
Press Release

Washington, DC—Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy today sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry on the Department’s failure to produce responsive emails and records for top State officials more than a half-year after they were first requested.

“Secretary Clinton is insistent she will appear once and only once before the Select Committee,” said Gowdy, R-S.C. “The Committee must be equally insistent that her appearance is thorough and fully productive. This requires the record to be complete so the Members can effectively base their questions on documents and the Secretary can base her answers on those same documents.

“Since last fall, the Committee has consistently said it would talk to Secretary Clinton about Libya and Benghazi within 30 days of the public record being complete. To date, the State Department has not produced one single piece of paper responsive to the Committee’s request for records from the former Secretary’s leadership team.”

Gowdy noted the Benghazi Committee originally requested all Libya- and Benghazi-related documents from the leadership team of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton back in November 2014. He also noted the Committee subpoenaed the same records in March 2015, but as of mid-May, State has failed to produce a single email.

“The pace of State Department document production has become an impediment to the progress of the Committee,” Gowdy said. “Secretary Kerry promised in previous House testimony swift action when it came to producing Department documents, now it is time for his Department to explain why they have failed to keep his word.”

Gowdy further pointed to the former Secretary’s claim she had emailed her staff in a bid to meet record keeping requirements as part of the unusual email arrangement she had with herself.

“The Committee needs these emails to have some sense of the completeness of Secretary Clinton’s self-selected public record and to formulate substantive questions for her on Benghazi,” Gowdy said. “I have no interest in prolonging the time before she appears before the Committee, but I do have an interest in assuring the Committee has access to all the facts.”

Gowdy pointed to the Committee’s record in its determined pursuit to build the most comprehensive account on Benghazi. That includes becoming the first congressional committee to gain access to State Department Accountability Review Board internal documents—two years after a House committee originally subpoenaed the documents; receipt of 15,000 pages of new Benghazi documents never before given to Congress; getting access to 25,000 pages of Benghazi documents with fewer redactions than when they were first given to Congress; and becoming the first and only congressional committee to uncover Secretary Clinton’s exclusive use of private emails to conduct official public business.

The letter to Secretary Kerry can be found at the link.”

Trey Gowdy and the Select Committee on Benghazi released an update on May 8, 2015.

“Another substantial obstacle to the development of a full and complete record of the facts relating to Benghazi has been the unique arrangement that former Secretary of State Clinton had with herself. In August 2014, the State Department included in its production of documents eight emails to or from former Secretary Clinton. Some of these emails indicated that the Secretary used a private email account to communicate about official government business. Other emails gave no indication whether the email account used was private or a government account.

Since late fall, the Committee has consistently pressed the State Department for the former Secretary’s emails. On February 13, 2015, the State Department produced nearly 850 pages of roughly 300 emails to and from the former Secretary pertaining to Benghazi. The production was significant in that every one of the emails produced came from Secretary Clinton’s private email account.”

These questions, which have been raised solely due to the actions of the former Secretary, necessitate a third-party review of the server to ensure that all responsive documents have been produced to the Committee.

That is why in an April 23, 2015 letter to the former Secretary’s attorney, the Committee reiterated its request for her to turn over the server to a neutral, third party, such as an inspector general. The Committee will call Secretary Clinton to testify once it is satisfied that all the relevant information has been provided by both the State Department and her.”

I have to believe that Trey Gowdy has read the September 26, 1996 House

“INVESTIGATION OF THE WHITE HOUSE TRAVEL OFFICE FIRINGS AND RELATED MATTERS”.

If not he certainly should and so should you.

Here are just a few exerpts.

“It is clear that once the ‘‘official’’ story was made public, any movement toward the truth brought the threat of damaging legal and political ramifications that the Clinton White House could not afford to risk.

The extensive documentary record constructed over the past year has dismantled the White House cover story.

The committee sought records of meetings, phone logs, Secret Service logs and White House residence records that were the only way to fill in the missing memories of countless witnesses. While the recollections of witnesses frequently have been implausibly flawed, the documentary record often tells a very different and far more complete story.

Finally, it is the President himself who ultimately must be held accountable for this persistent pattern of White House misinformation and misuse of executive power and executive privilege. Given the alarming turnover of key White House operatives over the past 31⁄2 years, only the President himself could have sustained such a pattern of misbehavior. Why has President Clinton tried to keep the true story from being told? A recurring question arises whether the President is above the law—whether the First Lady is above the law.

The discrepancies, vagaries and omissions between the ‘‘official’’ White House account of these matters and the factual record now properly falls within the scope of the criminal investigation by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr, now known as ‘‘Travelgate.’’”
“MRS. CLINTON INSTRUCTED WHITE HOUSE STAFF ON THE HANDLING
OF FOSTER DOCUMENTS AND THE FOSTER NOTE FOUND ON JULY 26,
1993, AND SENIOR WHITE HOUSE STAFF COVERED UP THIS INFORMATION
AND KEPT IT FROM INVESTIGATORS

· Mrs. Clinton personally was involved in the discussions regarding the White House’s handling of documents in Vince
Foster’s office following his death. Mrs. Clinton made known her views that investigators should be denied ‘‘unfettered access’’ to Foster’s office prior to the search of the office on July 22, 1993.

· The White House withheld evidence subsequently discovered among the 2,000 pages over which President Clinton invoked
executive privilege, that senior White House aide Bill Burton spoke with Mrs. Clinton on the evening of Foster’s death (July 20, 1993).

· Mrs. Clinton directed that Mack McLarty and others not inform the President about the discovery of the Foster ‘‘suicide’’ note on July 26, 1993. This note essentially defended Foster’s and the White House’s actions in the Travel Office firings and Mrs. Clinton suggested that executive privilege research be done regarding the note.

· The White House’s delay in turning over the Foster note was due to senior staffers’ deference to Mrs. Clinton’s wishes.
Statements by Mack McLarty and David Gergen that the note was not immediately turned over because of the need to notify
Mrs. Foster and the President are not consistent with the evidence. No one called Mrs. Foster the evening the note was discovered and President Clinton was not told about the note’s existence until after Mrs. Clinton met with Bernard Nussbaum and Steve Neuwirth. Mr. Nussbaum and Mr. Neuwirth had been tasked with studying the executive privilege issue at 2:30 p.m. Susan Thomases and Bob Barnett also were in the residence that afternoon at approximately 3 p.m.

· The Foster note most likely was not a ‘‘suicide’’ note but rather a note in preparation for resigning or in the event that Foster was asked to resign or take the fall for the problems generated by the firings and related matters.43”
“WHITE HOUSE OFFICIALS ENGAGED IN A PATTERN OF DELAY, DECEIT
AND OBSTRUCTION OVER THE COURSE OF 3 YEARS OF INVESTIGATIONS
INTO THE TRAVEL OFFICE AND MATTERS RELATED TO VINCENT
FOSTER’S DEATH

· The GAO’s investigation was delayed for months by document production delays. Ultimately GAO did not receive all
documents relevant to its inquiry including: the Vince Foster Travel Office file, the White House Management Review interview notes, documents related to the TRM efforts to obtain GSA contracts and the Watkins ‘‘soul cleansing’’ memo. A GAO representative noted that the level of cooperation that it received from the White House was not conducive to properly
conducting GAO’s work.47

· The ‘‘Watkins memo’’ was responsive to numerous document requests and was inappropriately withheld by David Watkins,
Matthew Moore and Patsy Thomasson. All three had hard copies and/or computer copies of the memo and were made aware
of the various document requests and subpoenas to which it would have been responsive.

· In responding to a Public Integrity request for documents regarding Harry Thomason, Matthew Moore wrote an April 4,
1994 memo to Neil Eggleston stating: ‘‘I know of no documents in my possession, or ever in my possession, responsive to the request.’’ This was false. The Watkins memo clearly was responsive to this request. At or around this time, Moore removed the Watkins memo from his computer and provided a disk copy to Watkins as he left the White House. However,
Moore maintained his own copy of the disk which included several previous drafts of the memo.

· The White House withheld documents from the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility including the
Vince Foster Travel Office file, the White House Management Review interview notes and the Watkins ‘‘soul cleansing
memo.’’ OPR Counsel Michael Shaheen found the White House’s lack of cooperation ‘‘unprecedented’’ in his 20 year
Government career.

· White House stonewalling forced the Public Integrity Section at the Justice Department to acknowledge it had no confidence that the White House had faithfully produced all documents ‘‘relating to the Thomason allegations.’’ While Section Chief Lee Radek noted that the ‘‘integrity of our review is entirely dependent upon securing all relevant documents,’’ he did not obtain all relevant documents: notably the complete Vince Foster Travel Office notebook and the Watkins ‘‘soul cleansing’’ memo, as well as more than 120 items over which the White House claimed executive privilege. The Justice Department quietly acceded to this inappropriate invocation of privilege.
One of the key items that it did not receive was a White House Counsel’s Office memo demonstrating that the Counsel’s office did believe there was a case to be made that Harry Thomason was a special Government employee.48

· Bernard Nussbaum obstructed the FBI investigation into the discovery of the Foster note as well as numerous other investigations, including congressional investigations, by failing to timely inform anyone in law enforcement, the White House, or Congress about the Vince Foster Travel Office notebook that he had secreted in Nussbaum’s office by July 22, 1993.

· An FBI investigation was ordered on July 28, 1993 by Philip Heymann, the day after the note was turned over to the Park
Police after the 30-hour delay in informing law enforcement authorities. Heymann instructed David Margolis to be ‘‘very
aggressive’’ in the investigation.

· Nussbaum failed to inform those tasked with overseeing document production to both the Justice Department and the
GAO that he was secreting a relevant document in his office. Nevertheless, once he informed Neil Eggleston in May 1994,
Eggleston also failed to turn over the documents to the Public Integrity Section in a timely and responsive manner.

· Neil Eggleston and Cliff Sloan, at Nussbaum’s direction, delayed the production of documents relating to the criminal investigation of Harry Thomason and Darnell Martens to the Public Integrity section and ultimately denied all such documents to GAO.

I have been warning you about the decimation of white American jobs under Obama.

Reported here recently:

There were 167,000 fewer white Americans employed in April.

There were 316,000 fewer white Americans employed since January.

There were 875,000 more white Americans not in the labor force since January.

The labor force participation rate for white Americans dropped .4 percent since January.

It has dropped 3.3 percent under Obama.

There are over  2.3 million fewer white Americans in the labor force than when Obama took office in January 2009.

I have also reported about what Jim Clifton of Gallup accurately called a Big Lie, the stated unemployment rate.

The real unemployment rate, that is, real humans not employed, could well be 23 percent.

From Shadow Government Statistics.

“The seasonally-adjusted SGS Alternate Unemployment Rate reflects current unemployment reporting methodology adjusted for SGS-estimated long-term discouraged workers, who were defined out of official existence in 1994. That estimate is added to the BLS estimate of U-6 unemployment, which includes short-term discouraged workers.”

“The ShadowStats Alternate Unemployment Rate for Aprile 2015 is 23.0%.”

UnemploymentRateAlternate

Still not alarmed?

From Zero Hedge May 11, 2015.

“Did you know that 89 percent of all minimum wage workers in the United States are not teens?  At this point, the average age of a minimum wage worker in this country is 36, and 56 percent of them are women.  Millions upon millions of Americans are working as hard as they can (often that means two or three jobs), and yet despite all of their hard work they still find themselves mired in poverty.  One of the big reasons for this is that we have created two classes of workers in the United States.

“Full-time workers” are entitled to an array of benefits and protections by law that “part-time workers” do not get.  And thanks to perverse incentives contained in Obamacare and other ridiculous laws, we have motivated employers to move as many workers from the “full-time” category to the “part-time” category as possible.  It may be hard to believe, but right now only 44 percent of all U.S. adults are employed for 30 or more hours each week.  But to get any kind of a job at all is a real challenge in many parts of the country today.  As you read this article, there are more than 100 million working age Americans that are not employed in any capacity.  And according to John Williams of shadowstats.com, if the federal government was actually using honest numbers the unemployment rate would be sitting at 23 percent.  That is not an “employment recovery” – that is a national crisis.”

The Greensboro News Record is owned by Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway.

For that reason alone I am suspect of anything in print there.

Of course lies, statements and words that give false impressions are nothing new in the mainstream media.

The media, in lockstep with the Obama administration, continue to lie to us.

The Greensboro News Record on Saturday, May 9, 2015 regurgitated another AP jobs report that lies, i.e, gives a big false impression.

From the Greensboro News Record May 9, 2015.

“The U.S. stock market had its best day in two months Friday following good news about the job market.

The surge was enough to push two of the three major U.S indexes to gains for the week.

Investors were encouraged that U.S. employers added 223,000 jobs in April, a solid gain suggesting that the economy may be recovering after a stumbling start to the year.

While the jobs report is always closely watched, April’s survey garnered even more interest than usual after a poor March, which had revised figures showing only 85,000 jobs were added to payrolls.

“I am even more convinced that the March report was an outlier,” Paul Christopher, an investment strategist with Wells Fargo Advisors. “We all know the first quarter was a tough quarter. The jobs numbers needed to hold up and they did.””

(When I find a link to this I will supply it)

The News Record could have reported the following from the US Labor Dept website.

Zero Hedge found and reported the following.

“For all the talk about a jobs recovery and about a US economy that has put the great financial crisis and recession of 2007/8 in the rear view mirror, don’t tell it to those workers who desire a full-time job and instead are forced to settle with measly part-time offerings (mostly courtesy of Obamacare). Because as the chart below shows, as of April 2015, the number of full-time jobs remained well below the pre-recession peak, which incidentally was hit on December 2007, the month the last recession officially started.

We bring this up because in April, while the establishment survey reported a number that was just below the consensus estimate (even if it revised the March number lower by 50%), the household survey painted a far less optimistic picture, with the number of part-time jobs surging by nearly half a million, the worst print since last June, while the number of full-time jobs tumbled by 252K, also the biggest drop in nearly a year.”

Five things you should know about the April employment numbers

WASHINGTON — With the release of the April 2015 Employment Situation Report today, U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez says there are five things you should know about the numbers:

  1. With 223,000 jobs added in April, private-sector employment has grown for 62 consecutive months — the longest streak on record — to the tune of 12.3 million jobs over that time.
  2. The national unemployment rate fell to 5.4 percent in April, the lowest it’s been since May 2008.
  3. The unemployment rate a year ago, in April 2014, was 6.2 percent. Since that time, the labor force participation rate has held steady, which means the decline in the unemployment rate has been due to people getting jobs.
  4. Job growth last month was particularly strong in three sectors: construction, professional and business services, and education and health services. These are sectors that have historically provided good-paying middle-class jobs.”

April 2015 employment down 167,000 for white Americans, up 35,000 for Hispanic/Latino.

321,000 white Americans dropped out of the labor force in April and almost 900,000 this year!!

Bet you are not hearing that from the mainstream media!

*********************************************************

It does not matter what the the April unemployment rate and jobs data is.

You have been lied to by the media and White House.

I am always sickened by the regurgitation of jobs data reporting by the media. Even conservative talk radio media.

Doesn’t anyone care enough to examine the data and not accept the reports at face value.

God bless Jim Clifton, the CEO of Gallup who recently called the unemployment rate a big lie.

He is correct!

I was pleasantly surprised to read the following on Market Watch this AM.

“Obama’s policy failures are not merely matters of public perception, but matters of economic reality as measured by his own administration. President Obama’s policies have resulted in slow economic growth and a chaotic web of foreign policy. We all know the data. The economy is growing at just over 2%. The first quarter of 2015 will likely show a shrinkage in gross domestic product. The unemployment rate is at a low 5.5% because millions of prime-age workers have left the labor force, leaving participation rates at 1978 levels. New employment data will be released on Friday that will indicate how the economy performed in April, the first month of the second quarter.

Young Americans, often known as millennials, are bearing the brunt of the stagnant economy. Youth unemployment, at 10.5%, is more than twice the unemployment rate of those age 25 and up, at 4.4%. If Clinton wants to attract large numbers of millennials, she needs to explain how her policies will be both different from Obama’s and helpful to young people. That explanation has not been forthcoming.”

Also from Market Watch May 6, 2015.

For the first time in about two years, the U.S. created fewer than 200,000 private-sector jobs for two months straight, payrolls processor ADP said Wednesday.

The report will heighten fears that jobs creation — which had been the bright spot of late in the U.S. economy — is continuing to decelerate.

The U.S. created 169,000 private-sector jobs in April, ADP said, after a downwardly revised 175,000 jobs were created in March. From a peak of 284,000 jobs in November, job creation has slowed for five months in a row, ADP says.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/adp-reports-fifth-straight-slowing-in-jobs-creation-2015-05-06

Another big lie:

“jobs creation — which had been the bright spot of late in the U.S. economy”

Only if you are an immigrant.

If you are a white American, which was 70 percent of the population, you have lost millions of jobs since Obama took the White House in January 2009 and those jobs have not been recovered.

That is why 30 percent of millenials live with family or friends and we have record food stamp use and hunger.

From Citizen Wells April 9, 2015.

“he Obama Ministry of Truth

Tell the big lie and repeat it.

Obama’s White House Council of Economic Advisers crafts the big lie, that a large portion of the drop in labor force participation is due to the aging of the population.

And WhiteHouse.org, in a report crafted by one of the advisers, Jason Furman, a member of the 2008 Obama campaign team, repeats the big lie.

So why was it necessary to devise the big lie and divert attention away from something?

Here is the rest of the story:”

“First let’s address the “February’s strong report “.

From Citizen Wells March 7, 2015.

“Nonfarm payrolls increased 295,000 last month”

“Yet, if you simply look at the data from the US Labor Department you find:

43,000 fewer Whites employed in Feb!!!

There were 354,000 more people not in the labor force!

There were 180,000 more people not in the labor force who want a job now!

There were 250,000 more Hispanic/Latino workers employed since December 2014.

It is worse than that.”

Data from the US Labor Dept. for March 2015.

From Citizen News April 3, 2015.

“Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 126,000 in March, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.5 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.
Employment continued to trend up in professional and business services, health care, and retail trade, while mining lost jobs.”

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

“Now for the rest of the story, the truth.

Also from the same website, historical tables.

There were 106,000 fewer whites employed in March.

There were 226,000 more whites not in the labor force.

There were 81,000 more Hispanic employments.

Don’t take my word for it.

Look it up!”

You already know by now that one of the reasons for the drop in the labor force participation rate is the drop in employment of younger Americans.

The other big reason, that is not being reported (except here):

From Citizen News April 8, 2015.

“Why is the Obama White House erroneously blaming older workers for the drop in the labor force participation rate?

The answer is simple.

A diversion.

Why is this diversion necessary.

To hide the fact that younger and white American workers are being decimated by the Obama policies which include allowing so many illegals to stay in this country and work.

This is important.

The drop in labor force participation is significant despite the attempts by Obama et al to obfuscate the reasons.

However, perhaps even more significant is the number that are not in the labor force and therefore prevent the participation rate and unemployment rate from being worse.

Let’s focus on white Americans, since at the time the youngest members of the workforce were born, approx. 70 percent of the US population was white.

When Obama and the media lie about the job situation the implication is that all the so called jobs being created are dispersed proportionately.

That is not so.””
