This is an open thread for January 4, 2009. I am sitting here writing this listening to Glenn Beck on Fox preparing for a scathing article about Glenn Beck insulting concerned Americans, the same Americans who have faithfully listened to his shows and built up his audience.
Glenn Beck, I believe this quote came from your newsletter:
“Just like the notorious ‘seminar callers’ Rush talks about, there is a new type of seminar caller out there trying to get on talk radio: the birther. Sure, there are plenty of idiots out there who actually think Barack Obama was not born in the United States and this is a way to get him impeached. But most reasonable people don’t believe that. It’s so ridiculous that it’s actually a good distraction for Obama, because it’s an easy win for him and distracts from the real issues. Is that why so many birthers seem to be on different talk shows lately?”
I sent several emails to you today and tried calling your radio show. Some of the commenters on this blog got through to your call screener and were ignored.
While I might agree that there are other priorities to focus on, insulting hard working, concerned Americans, Americans who believe that the US Constitution is still relevant and still the law of the land, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
As Bill Cosby said to his TV son, “I brought you into this world, I can take you out.” Your faithful listeners who you just insulted, can do the same.
Glenn Beck, I am well educated, well read and I have a strong background. I challenge you to pay attention and especially to
Apologize to the American People for your stupid, uninformed comments.
And unless you have an answer to the following question, shut the hell up.

Sarah Palin, Alaska Governor, Vice Presidential Candidate, author and rookie journalist said that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a fair question.

Sean Hannity recently maintained journalistic standards on his radio show.

He stated that World Net Daily was just doing due diligence by questioning the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate. He stated that a lot of people are afraid to ask the question.”
Recently, the Citizen Wells blog challenged Rush Limbaugh to ask the simple question regarding Obama and his efforts to hide his records.

We are not asking you to delve deep into legal matters, into court cases, into legal precedents or definitions. We are simply asking you to ask the question that a fifth grader could ask and answer.
The question is why?

And, finally, there is the New Jersey Signer, Abraham Clark.
He gave two sons to the officer corps in the Revolutionary Army. They were captured and sent to that infamous British prison hulk afloat in New York Harbor known as the hell ship “Jersey,” where 11,000 American captives were to die. The younger Clarks were treated with a special brutality because of their father.
One was put in solitary and given no food. With the end almost in sight with the war almost won, no one could have blamed Abraham Clark for acceding to the British request when they offered him his sons’ lives if he would recant and come out for the King and Parliament. The utter despair in this man’s heart, the anguish in his very soul, must reach out to each and one of us down through 200 years with the answer: “No.”

The question of Barack Obama’s eleigibilty has been debated, distorted by the Obama camp and generally ignored by the Mainstream Media. Public opinion has been shaped by a paid cadre of the Obama camp and ideologues of the far left supporters and far left MSM. These Orwellian efforts rival those of Nazi Germany and “1984”. The question below, that I have listed as # 1 on the Internet Billboard, is the defining question about the eligibility of Barack Obama to be president as well as a watershed moment for the US Constitution. It is, I believe, the question of the century.
The question is why?

Rush, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and others that share a love for and concern about this country. I know this is a highly controversial subject. The Obama camp is well oiled to control public perceptions and to attack those who question Obama on any front. However, I often remind myself of the hardships our ancestors endured to allow us to have the luxury of fighting this battle. As I sit here writing this with a sore throat, I think of the brave patriots enduring the intense cold of Valley Forge, out in the elements with rags on their feet. My minor discomfort in this safe and warm environment pales in comparison.
They pledged their lives , their fortunes and their sacred honor.
I will not give up until our honor is redeemed.
The Obama camp wants us to be afraid, to be divided and confused by controversial issues. The question above is not confusing. It is so simple that a fifth grader can understand it and quickly come to the obvious conclusion.
Barack Obama is hiding something big from the American people.

Attention: Rush Limbaugh
It is not a conspiracy theory. Using the term “birther” in a condescending, Orwellian manner to discredit decent, hard working Americans who believe that the US Constitution is the law of the land, will not be tolerated.
1. Barack Obama has employed a legion of private and government attorneys to prevent revealing his country of birth. Innocent and eligible persons seeking the office of president do not do that.
2. Barack Obama’s father was a citizen of Kenya and a British citizen. “natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution” was explicitly written to deal with the issue of foreign allegiances at the time of the writing of the US Constitution.
3. Barack Obama’s citizenship and allegiance was further tainted when he was adopted by his stepfather Lolo Soetoro and Obama became an Indonesian citizen.
4. Some combination of the above allowed Obama to travel to Pakistan in 1981 when travel there was restricted to US citizens.
5. The only document presented by the Obama camp is a Hawaii COLB. There has been no substantiation that it is authentic and it does not establish country of birth. As Lou Dobbs stated, “It is a piece of paper that refers to another piece of paper.”
6. All other documentation, all school records, that would establish country of birth have been kept hidden and restricted.
7. No authentic documentation has been presented to establish that Barack Obama was born in the US.
8. The records of all hospitals in Hawaii have been searched. There is no record of Stanley Ann Obama ever having given birth to a child.
9. Barack Obama’s paternal grandmother in Kenya has stated on multiple occasions that she was present at Obama’s birth in Mombasa.
10. Others have stated, including multiple family members, officials and press, that Obama was born in Kenya.
This has been presented in a manner that a fifth grader can understand. However, if you have any questions, please contact me on this blog.
Failure to learn more about and understand this critical issue and take appropriate measures can only be construed as apathy, ignorance or having an un American agenda. This includes the Mainstream Media and the Fox network.
Questions for Rush Limbaugh
I have listened to the Rush Limbaugh show for at least 20 years. I have much respect for Rush. He strives to tell the truth and upholds American values dear to us. I do not always agree with Rush Limbaugh, but I must say, I probably agree with him at least 95% of the time.
I am requesting that that those reading this article, call in to the Rush Limbaugh show. It is not necessary to quote this blog, although that is ok. Request that Rush ask these simple questions:
1. How much money and time has Obama spent preventing the release of a legitimate birth certificate that proves his country of birth as well as other records such as college records?
2. How much of taxpayer or other people’s money has Obama spent in this evasive effort?
3. Why is Obama employing legions of private and government attorneys to avoid proving his eligibility?
There is no need to discuss plaintiff attorneys or their personalities or methodologies or judges or their decisions. These questions are simple and tell the tale about Obama’s eligibility and guilt.
This is about upholding the US Constitution and the rule of law.

The Mainstream Media and even Fox have ignored this simple but important story. Lou Dobbs, while he was still at CNN, Communist News Network, stated that Obama should present a legitimate birth certificate. I see no reason why you should not ask the above questions. Outside of the internet, we have depended on you to report on the important stories affecting this nation. Rush, we need you more than ever. I am asking you as a fellow conservative American, to present these questions to the American public.

I have a math/science background and possibly more importantly, I am from NC and many of us have built in BS detectors. Common sense goes a long way where I come from and the numbers and peudo science from the likes of Al Gore never made sense. I also checked some real data from time to time like summer temperatures in Antarctica.

Here are some details of the upcoming book tour. I’m starting in Michigan, and you’ll understand why when you read the book. Last year, I made a promise to the good people of Michigan that I would be back, and now I’m keeping that promise. (Michigan is near and dear to my family’s heart! Our eldest son, Track, lived with a great host family there during his hockey days.)
From Michigan, the “Going Rogue” tour will cover as much of the country as possible. I’ve decided to stop in cities that are not usually included in a typical book tour. For instance, I’m looking forward to meeting our honorable men and women in uniform and their families at a Fort Bragg book signing, and to reconnecting with friends my family made last year on the campaign trail in different book signing venues.
We have a tight schedule, but I’m working with the publisher to allow possibilities of stopping at a few unannounced places, too.

Sarah Palin, former vice presidential candidate, and now author of a new book, “Going Rogue”, was interviewed by Rush Limbaugh today, Tuesday, November 17, 2009.

“RUSH: We are going to open this hour with a rare personal interview, a rare guest. It doesn’t happen much on this program, but we are happy to have with us former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, whose book, Going Rogue, hits the shelves today and it’s already headed for I think a record in sales. Governor Palin, thanks for making time. It’s great to talk to you again. We spoke last Thursday in an interview for the Limbaugh Letter, but it’s great to have you here on the radio.
GOV. PALIN: Hey, thank you so much, and dittos from an Alaskan.
RUSH: Where are you, by the way? Where are we speaking to you from?
GOV. PALIN: In a hotel room in New York City. I’m going to do a couple of interviews after that and then head to Grand Rapids for the kickoff of the book tour.
RUSH: This is going to be exciting. Are you looking forward to that?
GOV. PALIN: I am so looking forward to this. I cannot wait to meet some of these good Americans all across this country. It’s going to be a blast.
RUSH: They can’t wait to meet you, judging by the reception you got during the campaign. Now, ladies and gentlemen, Governor Palin, when we spoke last Thursday I spoke to her a lot about the things in her book regarding the campaign. That stuff you’ll read in the Limbaugh Letter, and I predicted to Governor Palin then that much of her book would be ignored in light of the dirt that she was supposedly dishing from the campaign. So Governor Palin what I’d like to do here is go some different directions from what we did in the newsletter interview and start with the economy. We have 10.2% unemployment. We see no end in sight. The administration and others are suggesting next year could be just as bad with unemployment going up to 11%. What would you do differently than is being done now?
GOV. PALIN: It’s over 10%, and in fact it could be closer to 17 or 18 when you consider those who have kind of given up and are not applying for unemployment benefits. So it’s bad, it’s really bad and then of course Fed Chair Bernanke announced that there are still weak job prospects for the very short term and probably long term, and that’s an uncomfortable place for our country to be. What we need to do is shift gears and really head in another direction because what we’re doing right now with the Fed, it’s not working. We need to cut taxes on the job creators. This is all about jobs, creating jobs. We have to ramp up industry here in America, and of course reduce the federal debt, quit piling on and growing more. But those commonsense solutions there, especially with the cutting taxes on the job creators, that’s not even being discussed. In fact, increased taxes is the direction it sounds like Obama wants to go.
RUSH: You mean that you don’t even hear it being discussed on the Republican side or within the administration?
GOV. PALIN: Within the administration, and as it is discussed on the Republican side, Republicans need to be bolder about it. Independents need to be bolder about that solution that has got to be considered and plugged in. This is the only solution that will be successful. We need to rehash some history that proves its success. Let’s go back to what Reagan did in the early eighties and stay committed to those commonsense free market principles that worked. He faced a tougher recession than what we’re facing today. He cut those taxes, ramped up industry, and we pulled out of that recession. We need to revisit that.
RUSH: Why do you think this administration is ignoring that blueprint? What is their ultimate objective here? They’re sitting in the middle of abject failure of their number-one stated goal, and that’s job creation. So what are they really trying to do here do you think?
GOV. PALIN: Well, you wonder, you wonder because history proves what will work and you wonder if they’re realizing that and if it’s just perhaps a stubbornness at this point that they are so committed to going down this road of growing government and interjecting the Feds’ control in the private sector more and more, which will prove to be more failure. I don’t know if it’s obstinate thinking that they’re engaged in right now or if they truly just do not believe what the free market, free enterprise economic solutions are that built up this country.
RUSH: Do you think this is going to be a major issue in the congressional elections in 2010, and if so, how would you advise Republicans to pursue it?
GOV. PALIN: It better be a major issue, absolutely. Of course, national security will be, too, and hopefully we’ll talk a little bit about some of the decisions being made in that arena that cause so many of us concern but, yeah, the economy, that’s what it’s going to be because it’s all about jobs, it’s all about Americans who are hurting right now and what those solutions are that are so obvious, so commonsense that need to be plugged in. And those are Republican, they’re commonsense conservative principles that we just need to apply.
RUSH: New York-23 is being portrayed as a race in which you and I — because we supposedly went up there — handpicked Doug Hoffman, he supposedly lost, even though that race, they still haven’t finished counting the votes. It’s two weeks! This is not Chicago. They haven’t finished counting the votes. He says he wishes he could un-concede now. But they’re trying to diminish conservatism, and I think in the process intimidate the Republican Party from going in that direction. What’s your read on New York-23?
GOV. PALIN: I think this is exciting. It’s encouraging. No matter the outcome even with his recount of some of those, well, uncounted ballots, it’s exciting that the race is going to be even closer, and it’s a clearer and clearer picture that what Americans are seeking, even in a district there in New York, they are seeking commonsense, conservative solutions to all the challenges that we’re facing. I’m glad to see this.
RUSH: So the positive thing there is that the Republican Party was rebuffed in nominating essentially a RINO, a liberal?
GOV. PALIN: Well, I think what you saw there is — and of course it’s not just the Republican machine, it’s the Democrat machine, too. You know, if you’re not the anointed one within the machine, sometimes you have a much tougher row to hoe and that’s what Hoffman faced. He was the underdog. I think great timing for him, though, to stand strong on his conservative credentials and essentially come out of nowhere and prove that an American without that resume, without that machine backing can truly make a difference in an election like this.
RUSH: Well, now, you used the term, “If you’re not the anointed one by the party machine, you’re the underdog and you have a tough row to hoe.” Based on things that I read, the Republican establishment would not anoint you to be a nominee of their party should you choose to go that way. I’m not asking you the question because I know you’re not going to answer and give away what your plans are in 2012.
GOV. PALIN: (chuckles)
RUSH: Do you consider yourself one of these unanointed ones within your own party?
GOV. PALIN: Well, to some in both parties, politics is more of a business. It’s not so much a commitment to an agenda or a person or values or issues. It’s more of a business — and, no, I’m not a part of that. So if they’re going to keep using that way of thinking in their decisions on who they anoint, who they will support or not then, no. I’ll never be a part of that. But hopefully we’re going to see a shift with independents, with the Republican Party and the Democrat Party, and we’re going to get back to what the issues are, what really matters, and then hopefully we’re going to go from there, which will be much fairer to the electorate.
RUSH: All right, independents, slash, third party. A lot of people — mistakenly, in my view — are looking at New York-23 as evidence that, see, a third party could actually do well. But that’s not a good example because there was no primary there. As you said, the party bosses chose Dede Scozzafava on the Republican side and a Democrat. Had there been a primary, New York-23 would not have been constituted as it was. So what are your thoughts now on the viability of a third party if the Republican Party can’t be brought around?
GOV. PALIN: You know, to be brutally honest, I think that it’s a bit naive when you talk about the pragmatism that has to be applied in America’s political system. And we are a two-party system. Ideally, sure, a third party or an independent party would be able to soar and thrive and put candidates forth and have them elected, but I don’t think America is ready for that. Larry and I agree that even if people do not believe his story (now they are more likely with Axelrod and the Obama camp revealing their true motives) that the even bigger story was the Obama camp trying to silence and discredit Larry Sinclair and anyone questioning Obama as well as internet scrubbing, which has intensified. Building Workers’ Strength with Comprehensive Immigration Reform
SEIU members have many reasons to stand united for comprehensive immigration reform.
All working people face lower pay and benefits when some hard-working, taxpaying workers are driven into an underground economy because they are denied legal status.
The political strength of working people is seriously undermined when millions of workers are denied the right to vote because they have no real path to citizenship.
Our primary mission – to unite all working people for a better future – cannot be achieved as long as many workers face exploitation and discrimination.
Our communities are weakened when politicians eager to exploit divisions pass laws that result in workers being denied access to drivers’ licenses and insurance or qualified high school graduates being denied a college education.
As a result of the U.S. Senate’s failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform last year, we have seen an alarming increase in local laws that target immigrant workers and their families, along with costly deportation raids that make headlines but do not realistically fix a broken system. Deportation threats without reform have pushed undocumented immigrants further into the underground economy, dividing the workforce and driving down wages and benefits for all working people.
When the Bush administration announced a federal attack on undocumented immigrant workers, including a new policy on “no match” Social Security cases, SEIU developed a tool kit and held legal trainings to educate employers and workers on their rights in the event of a worksite raid and/or “no match” letter.
As the federal crackdowns increase, so do state and local laws that target immigrant workers and fuel fear, hate, and division in communities across the country. Legislation in states such as Arizona, Oklahoma, and Virginia that deputizes local law enforcement and empower them to persecute undocumented immigrants will cost billions in taxpayer dollars, but solve nothing.
We will oppose initiatives including guest worker programs if they do not provide future immigrant workers with a safe, orderly, and legal process that includes full protection of U.S. laws and a pathway to citizenship.
