Senate cloture vote, November 20, 2009, Harry Reid, ObamaCare, Government health care bill, 60 votes, Medicare cuts, Deficit increase, Republican filibuster, CBO cost estimates

From an AmeriPac email, November 20, 2009.

“Senate ObamaCare Cloture Vote On Saturday!

Kill the BILL Today – Stop ObamaCare In The Senate!

Alert: We Have the Chance to Kill Socialized Medicine TODAY –

Reid and Senate Democrats announced they will file cloture today on the motion to proceed regarding ObamaCare. He will go to the floor for cloture on the motion to proceed to a House-passed tax bill, to begin the Senate debate on ObamaCare.

This vote will require 60 votes and will likely occur on Saturday.

Several Democrats have said they will not vote for the bill. Remember cloture is a three day process – file on day one, day two is an intervening day and the vote occurs on day three. Reid is using a House-passed tax bill as a “shell” allowing him to offer up the language he released tonight as a substitute amendment if he gets cloture on the motion to proceed.

Reid’s Senate version of ObamaCare calls for:

  • Hiding the $1.8 Trillion price tag by not accounting for actual costs.
  • Major reductions in Medicare befits to seniors.
  • Major Tax Increases on every American to pay for it all.
  • Reid called for increasing the Medicare payroll tax. “

“ALERT: We all know that “ObamaCare — the two thousand page Democrat healthcare bill — passed the U.S. House of Representatives last week… by THREE VOTES.

The radical leftists in the House were able to squeak their bill through…

But we have STILL have a chance to stop them in the SENATE…TODAY!

TELL THE SENATE TO REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE
BETTER KNOWN AS “OBAMACARE”:”

“Even after a final barrage of over eighty thousand faxes from our members that POURED in to the U.S. House… a slight majority of Congressmen still voted to destroy our freedom in health care.

Those legislators will be feeling the WRATH of voters next year — but WE still have our work cut out for us NOW!

WE HAVE NOT LOST. The bill pushed by Obama, passed by leftist Democrats in the House — and rejected by all but one turncoat Republican — must now head over to the U.S. Senate…

And we CAN defeat it there!

In fact… we can stop this bill COLD TODAY. Here’s how:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) last Tuesday laid the groundwork for the Senate’s healthcare reform debate to start TODAY – Tuesday, Nov. 17th. Reid filed a motion to introduce the bill yesterday, Monday, Nov. 16. Anticipating a Republican objection, the bill would be pushed onto the Senate calendar.

BUT… Reid’s action last Tuesday sets up a critical vote this week on a motion to proceed to the bill. Such a motion would require 60 votes to succeed — and there’s a GOOD CHANCE that Reid does NOT have those 60 votes!

Reid needs a majority (51) to pass the motion to proceed so the Senate can begin debating and amending the bill.  If Republicans filibuster this motion, he will need 60 votes to invoke cloture and shut off debate.

THIS IS IT — one of our BEST chances to kill this bill, before it even gets off the ground!”

“Remember, this bill is the worst of all possible bills. It’s chock full of every far-left special interest socialistic dream imaginable. Here’s some of what’s in its TWO THOUSAND PAGES:

  • The CBO estimates that H.R. 3962, the health bill that the House passed, would cost $1.2 TRILLION over 10 years, including the cost to states for mandated Medicaid expansion ($34 billion), the “Doc Fix” ($245 billion), and authorized discretionary spending for grants, public programs, changes and funding for a variety of agencies that would be responsible for implementing H.R. 3962.
  • The bill protects trial lawyers. The bill gives money (authorized at “such sums”) to states that enact “certificate of merit” (a document signed by a medical professional that says there is a probability that the standard of care was violated) and / or a certificate of “early offer” (an early, confidential apology) laws, as long as the states don’t limit attorneys’ fees or impose caps on damages.
  • The current version will give billions of dollars of taxpayer healthcare benefits to ILLEGAL ALIENS in America. It would allow illegal aliens to use the new healthcare “exchange” and would not require verification to keep illegal aliens out of the other parts of the proposed federal healthcare system. Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus fought back against reports that leaders would add Senate language to block illegal immigrants from participating in the insurance exchange.
  • It will create a nationwide federal government program, the “public option,” which will pay for abortion on demand — with federal funds, of course, because that is what federal agencies spend.

Liberals in the House AND the Senate ignored us when the majority said, “NO BAILOUT.” They ignored us when the majority said, “NO FAKE STIMULUS.” Now, they’re trying to ignore us when the majority demands with a clear voice, “NO GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTH CARE!””

“We all remember when President Obama stood in front of a joint session of Congress — and LIED. He LIED when he said they weren’t planning to set up “end-of-life panels” — his cronies have promoted the idea for a long time now. He LIED when he said his “reforms” wouldn’t insure illegal aliens — it has been clearly shown that there would be NO WAY to prevent this from happening. He LIED when he said that his “government option” health care plan would not force taxpayers to pay for abortions — the Obama-backed House bill would explicitly authorize the federal government insurance plan to pay for elective abortions and would explicitly authorize taxpayer subsidies for private abortion insurance.

The American people are TIRED of being lied to — which is why over ONE MILLION of us went to Washington, D.C., to bring the voice of the MAJORITY to the doorstep of Congress. You see, the “sleeping giant” in America has been awoken… and we aren’t going back to sleep… not while our own government tries to cram a socialist health care plan down our throats!

And on top of all of this… the fact remains that we can’t AFFORD this plan! In the face of an estimated $1.85 trillion federal budget deficit for FY2009 and projected trillion dollar annual deficits for the foreseeable future, how can anyone in Congress vote for this health care plan, which will cost over $1 trillion over the next ten years? Plus, Congress is facing at least $53 trillion of unfunded liabilities due to its passage of the previous entitlement programs, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the recent addition of prescription drug coverage for Medicare. How can anyone in Congress vote for a new entitlement program for health care when Congress has not even begun to face up to this unfunded liabilities problem?

Well, they’re trying to — but WE can stop them, with YOUR help!

TAKE ACTION: Even the Democrats are now admitting that it’s conceivable that we might not even get passage this week on the usually perfunctory motion to proceed to debate. That’s because Republicans will filibuster even that, requiring 60 votes… and there are at least two Democrats who could join that filibuster.

BUT THEY NEED TO HEAR FROM US TO BE CONVINCED!

We CANNOT let the radical liberals in Congress — and the White House — force this plan for socialized health care on the American people! That’s why we’ve set up our website to enable you to send a strong message to every single member of the U.S. Senate, OPPOSING this outrageous plan.

For about what it would cost you in time and telephone charges, you can send Blast Faxes to Democrats, Republicans, Independents — EVERYONE in the U.S. Senate, DEMANDING that they REJECT this socialized health care plan NOW”

Senate Health Care Bill, Government health care, Canadian health care, Cost reduction, Waiting lists, Deferred screening, Cato Institute, Sally C Pipes, Stop this bill

I am not going to address the lies being told by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama about covering more Americans and reducing costs with government run health care. Unless you are a far left, socialist wacko, your good common sense will help you realize the liberal Democrats are lying. Instead I offer a video, that corroborates a body of evidence that proves that government run health care is bad for the citizens and will destroy our health care system. I can assure you from my recent dealings with the Social Security Administration that we do not want the government involved.

“The Difference Between Canada and the U.S. Health Care Systems”

“Sally C. Pipes understands Canadian health care. As the former Assistant Director of the free-market Fraser Institute, she lived under Canada’s national health care system.

Today Pipes is president of the Pacific Research Institute and author of the new book, The Top Ten Myths of American Health Care. She spoke at the Cato Institute July 15, 2009.”

Here is a link to the latest Senate Health Care Bill.
We must try to stop this criminal attempt by the liberal Democrats to ruin our health care.
However, “Let not your hearts be troubled”, we are changing Congress in 2010.
Sharpen your pencils and update your score cards.

Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity interview, Going Rogue, Dedicated to all Patriots, Alaska Governor, Exerpts, The last frontier, Kitchen Table Politics, Drill Baby Drill, Going Rogue, The Thumpin, The Way Forward

Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska, former vice presidential candidate and now author of “Going Rogue”, will be interviewed tonight, November 18, 2009 on the Sean Hannity Show on Fox. I just picked up a copy of the book and have quickly skimmed through it. Here are the Chapters.

1. The last frontier

2. Kitchen-Table Politics

3. Drill, Baby, Drill

4. Going Rogue

5. The Thumpin’

6. The Way Forward

Here are a few exerpts that I quickly found.

“Years before, I had seen our state speeding toward an economic train wreck. Since construction began in 1975 on what would become Alaska’s economic lifeline, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, it had grown increasingly obvious to everyday Alaskans that many of their public servants were not necessarily serving the public. Instead they had climned into bed with Big Oil. Meanwhile, in a young state whose people clung to America’s original pioneering and independent spirit, government was growing as fast as fireweed in July.

It didn’t make sense.

It seemed that true public service, crafting policies that were good for the people, had become increasingly derailed by politics and it’s infernal machines. But I had a drive to help, an interest in government and current events since  I was a little kid, and I had become aware of the impact of common sense public policy during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. I was intrigued by political science in college and studied journalism because of my passion for the power of words. And I had been raised to believe that in America, anyone can make a difference.”

I am sitting here watching the Sean Hannity interview of Sarah Palin. The more I watch and listen to her the more I like her.

She is an intelligent, articulate, patriotic American who loves her family and her country.

She is real and down to earth.

I had already decided to write an article about the hateful, disgusting, unfair attacks that have been made on her. In the article I will state that we are not going to put up with this un American, leftist, evil crap any more.

For now I will state that anyone attacking Sarah Palin, like an elitist comment made on this blog today, whether the comment is made on this blog or near my earshot, will probably be told to shut the hell up.

Sarah Palin book tour, Rush Limbaugh interview, November 17, 2009, Going Rogue, Governor Palin interview, Republicans, Independents, Reagan

Sarah Palin, former vice presidential candidate, and now author of a new book, “Going Rogue”, was interviewed by Rush Limbaugh today, Tuesday, November 17, 2009.

Here are some exerpts from the transcripts:

“RUSH: We are going to open this hour with a rare personal interview, a rare guest.  It doesn’t happen much on this program, but we are happy to have with us former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, whose book, Going Rogue, hits the shelves today and it’s already headed for I think a record in sales.  Governor Palin, thanks for making time.  It’s great to talk to you again.  We spoke last Thursday in an interview for the Limbaugh Letter, but it’s great to have you here on the radio.
GOV. PALIN:  Hey, thank you so much, and dittos from an Alaskan.
RUSH:  Where are you, by the way?  Where are we speaking to you from?
GOV. PALIN:  In a hotel room in New York City.  I’m going to do a couple of interviews after that and then head to Grand Rapids for the kickoff of the book tour.
RUSH:  This is going to be exciting.  Are you looking forward to that?
GOV. PALIN:  I am so looking forward to this.  I cannot wait to meet some of these good Americans all across this country.  It’s going to be a blast.
RUSH:  They can’t wait to meet you, judging by the reception you got during the campaign.  Now, ladies and gentlemen, Governor Palin, when we spoke last Thursday I spoke to her a lot about the things in her book regarding the campaign.  That stuff you’ll read in the Limbaugh Letter, and I predicted to Governor Palin then that much of her book would be ignored in light of the dirt that she was supposedly dishing from the campaign.  So Governor Palin what I’d like to do here is go some different directions from what we did in the newsletter interview and start with the economy.  We have 10.2% unemployment.  We see no end in sight.  The administration and others are suggesting next year could be just as bad with unemployment going up to 11%.  What would you do differently than is being done now?
GOV. PALIN:  It’s over 10%, and in fact it could be closer to 17 or 18 when you consider those who have kind of given up and are not applying for unemployment benefits. So it’s bad, it’s really bad and then of course Fed Chair Bernanke announced that there are still weak job prospects for the very short term and probably long term, and that’s an uncomfortable place for our country to be.  What we need to do is shift gears and really head in another direction because what we’re doing right now with the Fed, it’s not working. We need to cut taxes on the job creators.  This is all about jobs, creating jobs.  We have to ramp up industry here in America, and of course reduce the federal debt, quit piling on and growing more.  But those commonsense solutions there, especially with the cutting taxes on the job creators, that’s not even being discussed.  In fact, increased taxes is the direction it sounds like Obama wants to go.
RUSH:  You mean that you don’t even hear it being discussed on the Republican side or within the administration?
GOV. PALIN:  Within the administration, and as it is discussed on the Republican side, Republicans need to be bolder about it.  Independents need to be bolder about that solution that has got to be considered and plugged in.  This is the only solution that will be successful.  We need to rehash some history that proves its success.  Let’s go back to what Reagan did in the early eighties and stay committed to those commonsense free market principles that worked.  He faced a tougher recession than what we’re facing today.  He cut those taxes, ramped up industry, and we pulled out of that recession.  We need to revisit that.
RUSH:  Why do you think this administration is ignoring that blueprint?  What is their ultimate objective here?  They’re sitting in the middle of abject failure of their number-one stated goal, and that’s job creation.  So what are they really trying to do here do you think?
GOV. PALIN:  Well, you wonder, you wonder because history proves what will work and you wonder if they’re realizing that and if it’s just perhaps a stubbornness at this point that they are so committed to going down this road of growing government and interjecting the Feds’ control in the private sector more and more, which will prove to be more failure.  I don’t know if it’s obstinate thinking that they’re engaged in right now or if they truly just do not believe what the free market, free enterprise economic solutions are that built up this country.
RUSH:  Do you think this is going to be a major issue in the congressional elections in 2010, and if so, how would you advise Republicans to pursue it?
GOV. PALIN:  It better be a major issue, absolutely.  Of course, national security will be, too, and hopefully we’ll talk a little bit about some of the decisions being made in that arena that cause so many of us concern but, yeah, the economy, that’s what it’s going to be because it’s all about jobs, it’s all about Americans who are hurting right now and what those solutions are that are so obvious, so commonsense that need to be plugged in.  And those are Republican, they’re commonsense conservative principles that we just need to apply.
RUSH:  New York-23 is being portrayed as a race in which you and I — because we supposedly went up there — handpicked Doug Hoffman, he supposedly lost, even though that race, they still haven’t finished counting the votes.  It’s two weeks!  This is not Chicago.  They haven’t finished counting the votes.  He says he wishes he could un-concede now.  But they’re trying to diminish conservatism, and I think in the process intimidate the Republican Party from going in that direction.  What’s your read on New York-23?
GOV. PALIN:  I think this is exciting.  It’s encouraging.  No matter the outcome even with his recount of some of those, well, uncounted ballots, it’s exciting that the race is going to be even closer, and it’s a clearer and clearer picture that what Americans are seeking, even in a district there in New York, they are seeking commonsense, conservative solutions to all the challenges that we’re facing.  I’m glad to see this.
RUSH:  So the positive thing there is that the Republican Party was rebuffed in nominating essentially a RINO, a liberal?

GOV. PALIN:  Well, I think what you saw there is — and of course it’s not just the Republican machine, it’s the Democrat machine, too.  You know, if you’re not the anointed one within the machine, sometimes you have a much tougher row to hoe and that’s what Hoffman faced. He was the underdog.  I think great timing for him, though, to stand strong on his conservative credentials and essentially come out of nowhere and prove that an American without that resume, without that machine backing can truly make a difference in an election like this.

RUSH:  Well, now, you used the term, “If you’re not the anointed one by the party machine, you’re the underdog and you have a tough row to hoe.”  Based on things that I read, the Republican establishment would not anoint you to be a nominee of their party should you choose to go that way.  I’m not asking you the question because I know you’re not going to answer and give away what your plans are in 2012.

GOV. PALIN: (chuckles)

RUSH: Do you consider yourself one of these unanointed ones within your own party?

GOV. PALIN:  Well, to some in both parties, politics is more of a business.  It’s not so much a commitment to an agenda or a person or values or issues.  It’s more of a business — and, no, I’m not a part of that.  So if they’re going to keep using that way of thinking in their decisions on who they anoint, who they will support or not then, no. I’ll never be a part of that. But hopefully we’re going to see a shift with independents, with the Republican Party and the Democrat Party, and we’re going to get back to what the issues are, what really matters, and then hopefully we’re going to go from there, which will be much fairer to the electorate.

RUSH:  All right, independents, slash, third party.  A lot of people — mistakenly, in my view — are looking at New York-23 as evidence that, see, a third party could actually do well. But that’s not a good example because there was no primary there.  As you said, the party bosses chose Dede Scozzafava on the Republican side and a Democrat.  Had there been a primary, New York-23 would not have been constituted as it was.  So what are your thoughts now on the viability of a third party if the Republican Party can’t be brought around?

GOV. PALIN:  You know, to be brutally honest, I think that it’s a bit naive when you talk about the pragmatism that has to be applied in America’s political system. And we are a two-party system. Ideally, sure, a third party or an independent party would be able to soar and thrive and put candidates forth and have them elected, but I don’t think America is ready for that.  I think that it is… Granted it’s quite conventional and traditional, but in a good way that we have our two parties, and I think that that’s what will remain. And I say that, though, acknowledging that I’m not an obsessive panther, I understand why people — good people like my own husband — refuse to register in a party. Todd’s not a Republican and yet he’s got more commonsense conservatism than a whole lot of Republicans that I know because he is one who sees the idiosyncrasies of the characters within the machine and it frustrates him along with a whole lot of other Americans who choose to be independent.  But in answer to your question, I don’t think that the third party movement will be what’s necessary to usher in some commonsense conservative ideals.”

2010 Congressional elections, Ship of state sinking, Fix leak, Vote for lesser of evils, US Constitution, Congress must be changed, Lou Dobbs, Bill O’Reilly

“People in hell want icewater.”…Unknown

To the readers and commenters of the Citizen Wells blog and Citizens of the United States.

The Ship of State is Sinking.

We must fix the leak.

Many of you will understand what I am about to write. To the rest, if this sounds like a lecture, it is.

We must stop the Ship of State from sinking.

What do I mean by this?

We are confronted with the following emergencies:

  •  Out of control spending and deficit interest payment service.
  • Weakened national security.
  • High unemployment.
  • The spectre of government run health care.
  • Leftist, socialist agendas forced on our families.
  • Threat of War in the Middle East.
  • China controlling our decision making because of our debt to them.
  • Our military being compromised in Afghanistan.
  • Lack of confidence in our government.

I have been surrounded by many personality types in my life. Some of the people around me have a more difficult time of prioritizing activities or jobs. They want to stop the ship from sinking and at the same time have it cleaned up, painted and ready for guests at the dock.
Those people are destined to go down with the ship.
The regulars on this blog are familiar with my reference to most choices in life being between the lesser of evils. This is a reality. It is not a perfect world. Once again I refer to the sinking ship. We have an illegal president with a far left socialist agenda and a out of control Congress. We have an emergency. We must stop the leak.
I am not referring to choosing the lesser of evils in the congressional races next year as an ongoing strategy. It is simply a strategy to keep the ship of state afloat.

Where is the most power concentrated in the Federal Government? Congress.

Do you want to remove the illegal POTUS, Obama? Change Congress.

Do you want fiscal responsibility? Change Congress.

Do you want to improve national security? Change Congress.

Do you want real health care reform? Change Congress.

No one in Congress, Dick Cheney or anyone in the US Supreme Court, stood up to demand that Barack Obama prove his eligibility to be president. Many people were fooled by the smooth talking devils of the Obama Camp. However, some of those in Congress do support the US Constitution and care about this country. We must salvage them. At the same time we must insist going forward that the US Constitution is followed as the rule of law and that congressmen do their job to protect America and the American public.
So, to all of you who think along the lines of all or nothing, plan to have Obama stay in office until 2012, hunker down in your bunkers and get out your life rafts. The ship will sink.

Footnote:

I want to thank Lou Dobbs for his statement on the Bill O’Reilly show on Fox last night. O’Reilly still refers to “birthers” in a condescending tone. When O’Reilly asked Dobbs about his so called defense of birthers, Lou Dobbs stated the question all real journalists should ask. Dobbs said he does not understand why Obama does not produce a real birth certificate.

O’Reilly, you can learn a thing or two from Lou Dobbs.

Bill O’Reilly, you can also stop making condescending comments about concerned, hard working, informed Americans. You are begininng to sound like Nancy Pelosi.

Reid and Pelosi push socialist Health Care Bill, Reid said next week, Congressional Budget Office, Pelosi defends jail time, Fines

Two jackasses must be removed from Congress. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. They are pushing hard to ram an unpopular, socialist Health Care Bill down the throat of the American public. And the mentally unstable Pelosi defends the penalties included in the bill for not signing up for health care, including jail time.

From the NY Times, November 10, 2009.

“Reid Says Health Bill Will Be Done by Christmas”
“The Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, said Tuesday that he expected to bring major health care legislation to the floor next week and to complete work on the bill before Christmas. But other Democratic leaders said it was unlikely that a bill could reach President Obama’s desk by year’s end.

The House approved its version of the health care legislation late Saturday by a vote of 220 to 215. In a first procedural step toward Senate debate, Mr. Reid on Tuesday night moved to put the House bill on the Senator calendar, from which he could call it up any time after Tuesday.”

“Senate Republicans seized on new polling data showing that Americans are increasingly uncomfortable with the sweeping health care legislation. The Republican leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, said Democrats were ignoring public opinion in pressing forward with the bill.

“As we go forward here in the Senate,” Mr. McConnell said, “I hope it will not be lost on our Democratic friends where the public is, how the public feels about this measure. They’re speaking increasingly loudly that they do not think it ought to pass.””

From a Youtube video

“Does House Speaker Nanci Pelosi Dodge Tough Question on Health Care??? You decide.
Komo 4 News (ABC Seattle) Reporter Shomari Stone Asks House Speaker Nanci Pelosi about the following:

According to Committee On Ways & Means Republicans Ranking Member, Dave Camp, “the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain acceptable health insurance coverage and who choose not to pay the bills new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.”

But in all fairness, the Office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this information in an email to Shomari Stone about an hour AFTER THE NEWS CONFERNENCE:

“Reform includes a shared responsibility requirement, for those who dont already have insurance to either purchase affordable health insurance or pay a fee of 2.5 percent of their income so they are not driving up everyone elses health costs.

Under the bill, the only people who would face the fee for not purchasing insurance are those who can truly afford to purchase such insurance.

For those who can afford insurance but for some reason do not purchase it, they simply pay the fee a fee designed to cover their costs when they use the health care system. For a small number of people who might refuse to pay the fee, it is important to remember that, in the majority of cases, the IRS which will enforce the insurance requirement uses the CIVIL process to settle delinquent penalties and taxes.
It would only be in extremely rare circumstances that criminal prosecutions of any kind would be pursued. Indeed, in 2008, there were 156 million individual tax returns filed in the United States. Out of all of those 156 million returns, there were only 100 criminal prosecutions for willful failure to pay taxes and only for the most egregious examples of those who willfully defraud the system.””

Nancy Pelosi will stop at nothing to push her socialist agenda. Her involvement in attempts to steal the NY congressional seat recently bears this out. This blog will be reporting more on Nancy Pelosi’s past, and like her persona, it is not a pretty picture.

Gerald Walpin, Inspector General, Obama administration fired, Obama ally Kevin Johnson fraud, Sacramento Mayor, Walpin filed suit in federal court, Walpin cleared in probe

From the Hot Air blog, November 11, 2009.

“Walpin vindicated, will demand job back”

“In June, the White House fired Gerald Walpin as Inspector-General of the Corporation for National and Community Service after he objected to an unusually-favorable settlement of fraud charges against a Barack Obama ally in Sacramento.  The Obama administration insisted that Walpin got fired for instability and strongly hinted that Walpin was senile, but a series of actions against IGs seemed to show that Obama had decided to attack their independence.  Yesterday, the IGs struck back by clearing Walpin of the White House’s allegations through their professional board, and now Walpin wants his job back:”

“Among the documents was an Oct. 19 letter from the Integrity Committee of the Council of the Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency telling him that the probe against him had been closed.
“After carefully considering the allegations described in the complaint together with your response, the IC determined that the response sufficiently and satisfactorily addressed the matter and that further inquiry or an investigation regarding the matter was not warranted,” committee Chairman Kevin L. Perkins wrote.”

“The entire matter revolves around Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and an earlier finding of fraud against him by the CNCS.  Johnson admitted that federal funds got misused and had to repay over $400,000.  Instead of barring Johnson from handling federal CNCS funds, which would have been the normal action but would have deprived Sacramento of those monies as long as Johnson was mayor, the White House overlooked it — and Walpin was determined to find out why.”
“For having the temerity to point out the obvious — that Johnson got favorable treatment because of his alliance with Obama — Walpin not only got fired, but also got slandered as non compos mentis when the White House decided to play The Chicago Way.  Had someone in a private corporation tried that in an employment dispute, this administration’s EEOC would have leaped to Walpin’s defense, filing charges of age discrimination faster than one can say Geritol.   Instead, Obama and his team decided to destroy Walpin for his independence as the first salvo against Inspectors General and independent review of executive power in the federal government.”

Somali recruiter arrested, November 11, 2009, Netherlands arrest, From Minneapolis Minnesota, Financing the recruitment of Somali men from Minnesota, Terrorists in Somalia

From the Minneapolis,  St Paul Star Tribune, November 11, 2009.

“Alleged Somali recruiter arrested, linked to Minnesota”

“A 43-year-old Somali man from Minneapolis was arrested this week in the Netherlands for allegedly financing the recruitment of up to 20 young Somali men from Minnesota to train and fight with terrorists in their homeland.

The arrest appears to be the most significant development yet in one of the most far-reaching counterterrorism investigations since 9/11.

The identity of the man, who was arrested Sunday at an asylum-seeker’s center 45 miles northeast of Amsterdam, was not released. But Special Agent E.K. Wilson of the Minneapolis FBI office confirmed Tuesday that the man was arrested in connection with the ongoing counterterrorism investigation that began here when young men began disappearing in 2007.”

Health care reform, Common sense, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, American citizens, Government run health care opposed, No to socialist health care, No to bigger government, Fix the problems

“83% of Americans have health insurance which leaves 17% uninsured. Health care should be made available, at low or no cost, to those uninsured AMERICANS.

However, reforming the entire health care system to accommodate 17% of the population is like taking your car to the mechanic to overhaul the engine when it only needs a tune-up and an oil change.

We don’t need 2000 pages of more regulations. How about just expanding Medicaid eligibility and then Congress can place a moratorium on ALL earmarks and pet projects in order to help pay for this health care.”….Jonah, comment on Citizen Wells Blog

Thoughts on Health Care Reform

The Citizen Wells blog has some great commenters. Hard working, common sense based Americans that care about this country. The above quote is an example not only of the comments on this blog but the opinion of most Americans.
I do not care for either political party, Republican or Democrat. However,

I applaud the Republican party for opposing the socialist health care bill before Congress and fighting attempts by the Democrat controlled Congress to spend us into ruin.

The modern day Democrat party is controlled by far left socialists and appears to be beyond help, save for a few courageous Democrats who voted against the health care bill.
We must continue to voice our concerns over government run health care and hold Congress accountable.
One of the lessons I learned along the way is this. It is not ok to simply criticize a plan. I learned this as a practical consequence of dealing with management. When one is in opposition to a plan or strategy, it is important to not just complain, but to offer a better plan. The Republicans have come up with several far superior plans that have been shunned by the Democrats. They have at their basis the strategem from above. Don’t ruin existing health care to fix it. Simply fix the problems.
The Democrat Health Care Bill is not about fixing health care. It is about control, bigger government, appealing to a support base of far left socialists, attorneys, pharmaceutical companies, abortion proponents and so on. Health care can be dramatically transformed by simply doing the following:

  • Opening up insurance policies across state lines.
  • Tort reform. That is limiting the role of trial attorneys and therefore reducing malpractice insurance costs to all segments of health care.
  • Providing for health insurance portability.
  • Providing basic health care coverage at a moderate price as a safety net for those that truly can not afford it.
  • Opening up the health care field to allow more doctors and PA’s. Of course lower malpractice insurance costs will help.

Republicans, Independents and some Democrats, if we allow you to enter or remain in Congress this is not a vote for status quo. We expect you to uphold and defend the US Constitution and function as statesmen and not career politicians. We also want you to fix health care and not politicize it. We are fed up with business as usual.

We can vote you in.

We can vote you out.
