2010 Congressional elections, Ship of state sinking, Fix leak, Vote for lesser of evils, US Constitution, Congress must be changed, Lou Dobbs, Bill O’Reilly

“People in hell want icewater.”…Unknown

To the readers and commenters of the Citizen Wells blog and Citizens of the United States.

The Ship of State is Sinking.

We must fix the leak.

Many of you will understand what I am about to write. To the rest, if this sounds like a lecture, it is.

We must stop the Ship of State from sinking.

What do I mean by this?

We are confronted with the following emergencies:

  •  Out of control spending and deficit interest payment service.
  • Weakened national security.
  • High unemployment.
  • The spectre of government run health care.
  • Leftist, socialist agendas forced on our families.
  • Threat of War in the Middle East.
  • China controlling our decision making because of our debt to them.
  • Our military being compromised in Afghanistan.
  • Lack of confidence in our government.

I have been surrounded by many personality types in my life. Some of the people around me have a more difficult time of prioritizing activities or jobs. They want to stop the ship from sinking and at the same time have it cleaned up, painted and ready for guests at the dock.
Those people are destined to go down with the ship.
The regulars on this blog are familiar with my reference to most choices in life being between the lesser of evils. This is a reality. It is not a perfect world. Once again I refer to the sinking ship. We have an illegal president with a far left socialist agenda and a out of control Congress. We have an emergency. We must stop the leak.
I am not referring to choosing the lesser of evils in the congressional races next year as an ongoing strategy. It is simply a strategy to keep the ship of state afloat.

Where is the most power concentrated in the Federal Government? Congress.

Do you want to remove the illegal POTUS, Obama? Change Congress.

Do you want fiscal responsibility? Change Congress.

Do you want to improve national security? Change Congress.

Do you want real health care reform? Change Congress.

No one in Congress, Dick Cheney or anyone in the US Supreme Court, stood up to demand that Barack Obama prove his eligibility to be president. Many people were fooled by the smooth talking devils of the Obama Camp. However, some of those in Congress do support the US Constitution and care about this country. We must salvage them. At the same time we must insist going forward that the US Constitution is followed as the rule of law and that congressmen do their job to protect America and the American public.
So, to all of you who think along the lines of all or nothing, plan to have Obama stay in office until 2012, hunker down in your bunkers and get out your life rafts. The ship will sink.

Footnote:

I want to thank Lou Dobbs for his statement on the Bill O’Reilly show on Fox last night. O’Reilly still refers to “birthers” in a condescending tone. When O’Reilly asked Dobbs about his so called defense of birthers, Lou Dobbs stated the question all real journalists should ask. Dobbs said he does not understand why Obama does not produce a real birth certificate.

O’Reilly, you can learn a thing or two from Lou Dobbs.

Bill O’Reilly, you can also stop making condescending comments about concerned, hard working, informed Americans. You are begininng to sound like Nancy Pelosi.

  1. Important on Global Warming from American Family Association.

Please watch and learn tonight at 8 PM EST if you can:

    NOTICE STARTS HERE:

Join us to see the next religion to threatening Christianity

Important free broadcast – Not Evil Just Wrong – Global Warming Science or Religion?

Who: Everyone, all skeptics are welcome.

Where: AFA Action Alert Video webcast and AFR radio stations nationwide.

When: Tuesday November 17, 2009 7pm CDT or 8PM EDT

Tim Wildmon and Crane Durham of AFA will be joined by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, the makers of the movie “Not Evil Just Wrong” along with other guests including members of Congress and business people as we discuss the Green Religion that is being scared upon us by the secular humanists. Get the facts and counter the myths. We have brought out the experts to arm you. The webcast will clearly layout the distortions and the marketing strategy involved in this deception. See why our leaders have embraced this movement to grab total control of our lives and use population control to satisfy there reckless desire for power. There will be live blogging from the audience and phone calls as we expect the turnout to be large as this issue is critical to our families future.

The documentary is available for purchase if you miss the webcast we will also make the 2 hour broadcast available on DVD.

    Movie Facts
Global warming alarmists want Americans to believe that humans are killing the planet. But Not Evil Just Wrong, a new documentary by Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, proves that the only threats to America (and the rest of the world) are the flawed science and sky-is-falling rhetoric of Al Gore and his allies in environmental extremism.

The film drives home the realities of that extremism. “Turn off your lights. Turn off your heat when you get cold. Turn off your air when you get hot,” one man on the street says. “And then think about that.”

Not Evil Just Wrong warns Americans that their jobs, modest lifestyles and dreams for their children are at stake. Industries that rely on fossil fuels will be crippled if the government imposes job-killing regulations on an economy already mired in recession. Small towns in the heartland, like Vevay, Ind., will become bastions of unemployment and poverty. Breadwinners like Tim McElhany in Vevay will lose their jobs — and will have to start borrowing money again just to buy bread for their families.

The damage that would be wrought is unjustified by the science. Not Evil Just Wrong exposes the deceptions that experts, politicians, educators and the media have been force-feeding the public for years. Man-made pollution is not melting the polar icecaps. The ocean will not rise 20 feet in a flash. And the only polar bears dying because of man are the ones who try to eat men.

McAleer and McElhinney debunk what, for a time, was the environmental movement’s most powerful weapon of disinformation, the infamous “hockey stick” graph that attributed a supposedly unique burst of warming in the 20th century to humans. They also shatter the myth that the hottest years in the United States were 1998 and 2006. The hottest year was 1934, and the hottest decade was the 1930s — when there were half as many people and no SUVs or jumbo jets.

  2. CW,

Good morning and a HARDY THANKS for all the great work that you do. Another great post as usual.

  6. Thanks all.
You know you are not going to get political correctness or MSM here.

My dilemna here from the get go was trying to keep up with the enormous
amount of news that I considered critical to the survival of this nation.
    This has obviously increased.
It has been difficult to balance organizing my internet efforts/organization and
    keeping up.
I have chosen to err on the side of getting info out.
I am certain you know that I am not making any money.
I took a vow of poverty years ago when I had kids (ha ha).
I am not in this for the money (I think you know that).
I and we are doing this because we care about this country
and we are frightened for it’s existence.
I am getting pressure from many fronts to cover stories and will
    do my best.
I truly do care about the eligibility issues and definitely the US Constitution.
I will, however, focus on changing the composition and attitude of Congress.

The Lou Dobbs interview. Yes I hope to post it.

Change CONgress by bringing real DIVERSITY as it was meant to be by the founders. No more monopoly of Lawyers. It shall be composed of private leaders with life, employment or business experience that serve for a short time and then return back to their lives. No more lifetime professional politicians. Most important No More than 10-20% of CONgress shall be of people of same profession or background.

Bring Real DIVERSITY to CONgress, starting NOW, otherwise we will have 2000 pages laws that no -one will understand and enforce. This will only create more bureaucracy and hire more of their cronies to interpret laws that should be simple and easily understood by the common citizen.

    DIVERSITY CONgress.

  26. I saw the O’Reilley show with Lou Dobbs interview laast night. I, too, was appreciative of Lou Dobbs statement. I believe it will be a very short time and Lou Dobbs will be working on Fox. O’Reiley already invited him to be a regular guest on the program.

The following is an excerpt from a response I gave to a very wise lady who often often shares her profound insights with me. The question was over the effectiveness of the Congressional Congress. I know it would never happen like this and in part I was fantisizing so here it is:

“One thing is for sure, America has been severely betrayed by all its elected officials. All these long term Congressmen/women, Assembly, Senate and the rest of the prolific ilk have done is learn how to cover their asses while looting America. I would vote for the presidential candidate who runs on the platform once he elected he will declare martial law in America until he has repealed every law and every act that violates the Constitution, impeach all of Congress etc. and have America reelect new and fresh people to serve and restore America to the Republic she once was. That also means getting government out of the banking, automobile, and health care business. NO. I don’t believe in killing welfare and other government assistance to those in need. I do advocate a more responsible system to prevent the billions of dollars lost in fraud. (I know martial law is a bit extreme but you understand where I am coming from.)

Yes, I know that the new people –if voted into office without term limits–will eventual become just as corrupt as the ones they replaced. That is why I am for term limits.

One more item–the new president must agree to insist Obama produce all his sealed records. Even if Obama is not relected next term–which I believe he will not, it is still vital for America to obtain his sealed records. If it proves as we have long expected, he is a usurper–it will be that much easier to undo the years of mess he has created for America.

The issue of Obama’s citizenship is extremely vital to America’s history. They have elevated Obama to the glory of THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT OF AMERICA. The real facts about Obama must be told. The first black American president was a Chicago thug who purchased the presidency with George Soros and Muslim money and violated not only our Constitution but every thing sacred to our Christian/Judeo beliefs and traditions.

Everything the government is doing needs to be challenged and should have been years ago. You are quite right about American voter apathy. If it were not for that we might not be in the mess we are in today. So now America is awakening and every and any thing that challenges the government and enlightens the public of 300,000,000 + people is better than what we were doing five years, ten years ago.

  27. CW,

Nice statement. I agree with your ideas, and every point listed. Many Americans feel the same way, real change must start in Congress and that is where we need to go first.

  31. “O” MANIPULATES THE SYSTEM, AGAIN!

Looks like “O” plans to use the EPA to rewrite the 1970 Clean Air Act as a work around to the stalled cap and trade scheme, while Congress continues its heated debate over the proper role of the federal government in regulating greenhouse gases. He’s counting on this work around to give him that piece of paper he so desperately needs for the meeting in Copenhagen next month. We must stop him!

“The Obama Administration is pursuing perhaps its biggest power grab yet. Climate Czar Carol Browner is trying to have the EPA regulate carbon dioxide as a pollutant under the 1970 Clean Air Act, a sweeping global warming regulatory agenda WITHOUT A VOTE OF CONGRESS.

Their biggest problem is the law. The 1970 Clean Air Act clearly does not allow them to regulate the way they want. If the EPA insists on shoehorning greenhouse gas regulation into the 1970 Clean Air Act, the result will be regulation of millions of businesses, warehouses, and even schools. Instead, they want to create new rules pretending the law says something it doesn’t.”

TAKE ACTION NOW & STOP THE EPA POWER GRAB!

I wonder if Obama is paranoid about his records being released that it may be discovered that his prior life of a male prostitute/pimp/panderer or all 3. I wonder if it is common knowledge there, much of his “background” remains a mystery, the other mystery is why?
Our friend Murphy over at PUMAPac.org raises an interesting point. Dr. Utopia has been in Asia on his “Lookit Me, I’m the First Pacific President Tour”, embarrassing himself and the country, bowing to Emperors and doing we-don’t-want-to-know-what in those infamous Japanese saunas (and if you’d lived in Andersonville here in Chicago in the mid to late 90s, you might have gotten to see more than you ever wanted to of Dr. Utopia at Man’s Country…when a state senator did much, much more than bow in places like that).

Thsi one you can toggle Dems, Repubs and Inds to see who agrees with whom. If you follow the Inds and Repubs almsot alwasy agree. Also if you look at how Obama moves it almost always follows the Repubs trend and rarelly the Dems trend. Another thing this shows there is no RACISM but we Conservatives and Repubs only look at policy because there are times that we move in the same direction as the Prez and opposite of the Dems which if it was racism we would ALWAYS oppose him because of RACISM.

  47. This was sent to me in an e-mail. I am sure many here are familiar with this, but it bears repeating…we must never forget!

I hope you find the time to read this with an open mind. It’s interesting. Please read it with the open mind rather than immediately breaking it down into left or right, but rather look at it from the neutral viewpoint of right or wrong. It’s like the line below says, “what if he is right?”

Take the three minutes to read this.
    Maybe he is wrong.
But what if he is right?

David Kaiser is a respected historian whose published works have covered a broad range of topics, from European Warfare to American League Baseball. Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany , New York , and Dakar , Senegal .. He attended Harvard University , graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. in history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, gaining a PhD in history, which he obtained in 1976. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976.

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College . He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University . Kaiser’s latest book, The Road to Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

    Dr. David Kaiser

    History Unfolding

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus..

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has “loaned” two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of “we the people,” who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy.. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) – the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten…And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska .. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe are more important.)

Mr. Obama’s winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the “savior” was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative “losers” read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his “brown shirts” would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did – regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand – the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media – did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and …. . … change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It’s all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

    ——————-
Sen burris is an idiot. Just look at who appointed him.

  52. Don:

Agree. Maybe, that is why he isn’t running for the office to which he was “appointed” in 2010!

    No loss there…

Again, thanks for your thoughts and, again, I agree.

  54. Hoffman Unconcedes

    http://www.americasright.com/

“Of course I’m hoping for a Hoffman come-from-behind upset, but no matter what happens the stage is being set for a showdown in 2010. Bill Owen’s lead has already been cut from 5,000 votes to 3,000 votes and will probably shrink farther. If this is how well an unabashed conservative can do in a liberal/moderate race in New York, the GOP should take note for races across the nation.

If they don’t, there might just be a few more conservative independents where Hoffman came from. “

  56. Healthcare – Your voice must be heard!

Healthcare legislation pending in the Senate is the most sweeping change to our culture that has been presented in this century. Government run healthcare is the crown jewel of socialism. It is important for your senators to know how you feel about the important changes they are about to vote on. Please edit the email template below to communicate your feelings to both of your US Senators.

No longer wonder why pp kept him…

  58. James O’Connor, Burris’s communications director, later told CNSNews.com that although the word “health” does not appear anywhere in the Constitution, the senator was referring to the Preamble of the Constitution which says the following:

“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

    ~~~~Well, Mr. Burris and lacky, O’Connor, it seems your idol, Not POTUS, has failed on many accounts, especially in areas where the union is coming apart, justice has been denied, domestic tranquility is a thing of the past, our liberties are diminishing each day; however, promotion of general ‘welfare’ has greatly improved depending on your connotation of ‘welfare'(pun intended).
