Blagojevich trial, Rezko, Nadhmi Auchi, Rezko bankruptcy trustees, Freeborn & Peters, $3.5 million wire transfer Rezko received from Auchi

Blagojevich trial, Rezko, Nadhmi Auchi, Rezko bankruptcy trustees

Tony Rezko is the gift that keeps on giving. Hopefully this will continue throughout the Blagojevich trial.

From the Chicago Tribune, May 11, 2010.

“Firm asked to return funds from Rezko”

“Freeborn & Peters has been asked to return about $1.7 million in legal fees it collected from Antoin “Tony” Rezko, the convicted political fundraiser.

The trustee for Rezko’s bankruptcy estate sued the Chicago law firm in March to recover the fees. The firm has yet to file a response to the complaint, asking a judge last week for a second extension until May 21.
“Given the amount at stake, (Freeborn & Peters) would like additional time to investigate its defenses and prepare an appropriate response to the complaint,” Robert Fishman, one of the firm’s lawyers, wrote in the request for more time.

The firm declined further comment because it does not discuss client matters with the media, said Randall Vickery, its managing partner for client relations. The firm represented Rezko in several business matters before his conviction, but it couldn’t be determined whether Rezko remains a client.

The suit was filed about 18 months after Gregg Szilagyi was appointed bankruptcy trustee to liquidate Rezko’s assets. His work has been complicated by the fact that Rezko is in federal custody after being convicted in June 2008 of fraud and money laundering as part of a corruption probe into then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Rezko was a Blagojevich adviser and a major fundraiser.

While Rezko was on trial, a creditor who claims he was owed $18 million forced him into bankruptcy. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Carol Doyle later rejected Rezko’s motion to dismiss the bankruptcy case.

One of the first things Szilagyi did was investigate a $3.5 million wire transfer Rezko allegedly received after he was indicted in October 2006. The funds came from General Mediterranean Holding SA, a company controlled by Nadhmi Auchi of London, an Iraqi-born billionaire who has controlled banks, casinos, telecommunications companies and pharmaceutical firms across the globe.

Auchi bought about 15 Wisconsin pizzerias from Rezko, court records show, and took a stake in Rezko’s most ambitious real estate venture: his effort to develop a 62-acre site at Roosevelt Road and Clark Street.

That payment got Rezko’s bail revoked and landed him in jail in January 2008, just before his trial started, after he repeatedly told a federal judge that he had no access to overseas funds.

Szilagyi alleges Rezko directed one of his attorneys to transfer $1 million of the $3.5 million to Freeborn & Peters in early February 2008. The complaint also alleges Rezko sent a letter to Michael Kelly, a Freeborn partner, telling him to apply the $1 million to his outstanding legal fees.”

You remember Nadhmi Auchi.

  • Iraqi-born billionaire who was charged along with Saddam Hussein for conspiring to assassinate Prime minister (president) Abdul Karim Qasim and stood trial in 1959.
  • Protected secret money for Saddam Hussein AND Muammar al-Gaddafi.
  • Financially backed Saddam Hussein’s plan for a pipeline from Iraq to Saudi Arabia.
  • Moved to England after being expelled from France.
  • Rezko described his friendship with Auchi as “close”.
  • Attended a party in 2004 with Barack and Michelle Obama present.

Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan, Update, February 11 2010, Lawsuit, Obama not eligible, North Carolina Board of Elections, NC Secretary of State, Elaine F. Marshall

From Lt. Col Donald Sullivan, February 9, 2010.

FYI – Following are the comments I made verbatim to the court in my last hearing on the Obama eligibility matter.  The hearing was held in Superior Court in Roxboro, NC, on January 4, 2010, at 2:00.  I have attached the motion to amend which was the subject of the hearing and the documents indicated below.  The judge denied the motion, and I objected on constitutional grounds.  I am not planning to appeal.  That is bad news for Obama.  In my opinion, the movement to unseat Obama due to his citizenship may be the only thing keeping him alive.  When the last two cases go away, there will be no other way to get rid of this imposter than the old fashioned way.  I, for one, hope that does not happen.
If any of you have any ideas for an appeal, I would like to hear them.  Otherwise, this is the end of the road on this subject for me.  The United States is on a dead-end road as far as I am concerned.  In a conversation today with the opposing counsel for the State of NC, I was told that it didn’t look like there was any way for the court to get jurisdiction over this matter such that an order could be issued to accomplish what I was after.  I told her that I agreed with that assessment if the court continues to disregard its constitutional authority and its oath to support and maintain the constitution.  I could almost hear her sigh on the other end of the line.
It is worthy of note that this case was not dismissed for lack of standing, as were so many others.  It would appear the “class action” status cured that.  It’s just too bad we can’t find a constitutional judge.
DS

**************************************8
My comments to the court – Sullivan v. NC Board of Education, Wake County File #08CVS21393, Motion to Amend, Vacate or Alter Order (attached), Superior Court Judge Osmond Smith, III, presiding:

Good afternoon, Your Honor, and thank you for hearing this motion to vacate your order in this matter today.  Can I presume that you are familiar with my motion?  First let me remind the court that I am here specially and not generally.  I am not an attorney, nor have I been schooled in the practice of law.  I ask the court to consider the substance of my pleadings and arguments and not the form; as the filings of a litigant acting on his own behalf, such as myself, are not to be held to the same stringent standards as those of a practicing lawyer, pursuant to Haines v. Kerner, 404 US 519.  I appear at law and not of law. I don’t call myself a “Birther”.  I call myself a “constitutionalist”. Without the Constitution, there is no lawful State or federal government.  The Constitution of NC at Art. 1, Sec.5, requires us to follow the federal Constitution.  The federal Constitution requires the office of President be held a natural born citizen at Article II, Section 1, Cl. 6.  The key question before us today is the status of  Barack Obama’s citizenship and whether or not this case can go forward to challenge it.

1.                   First, due to the ruling by Judge Cobb this past December in a prior case, I move to voluntarily dismiss the Secretary of State as a defendant, res judicata.
2.                   Presentation of “Born in the USA” – Wong Kim Ark – Three types of citizenship (attached).
3.                   My motion today is based upon new evidence not available to me in our earlier hearing. (Introduce and present exhibits A, B, C, and D as described in the motion.
4.                   I believe the evidence I have introduced today and previously presents a prima facie case that Obama is not eligible for the office of President and was not a viable candidate in the first place.
5.                   Discuss INS affidavit attached to original complaint, my interview with the Secret Service, and “Unintended Consequences”.
6.                   “Overwhelmed by events and by Time”.  I became concerned that our government was no longer bound by the chains of the Constitution many years ago.  But after my hearing before Judge Jim Fox in federal court on March 21, 2003, I knew we were in trouble.  I had filed a case to prevent the war in Iraq due to the failure of the Congress to declare war.  During the House International Affairs Committee review of the Resolution to Authorize the President to use Military Force in Iraq, the chairman, Henry Hyde, said in response to Ron Paul’s amendment that we declare war as required by the Constitution that, “The Constitution has been overwhelmed by events and by time.  It is not relevant.”  I took this denial of the Constitution personally and made it the crux of my complaint.  Although Judge Fox agreed with most of my arguments, he denied my demand for a TRO to order Bush to stop the war which had begun two days earlier.  During the hearing, he admitted that our Constitution was no longer viable, having been overwhelmed by events and by time.  I read to you from the transcript of that hearing.  This quote has been featured in a Hollywood Movie by Aaron Russo.  [I read two pages from the transcript of “Sullivan v. United States, et al, 03CV039, USEDNC, March 21, 2003)
7.                   Read “Obama’s Own Words” (attached).
8.                   Read Judge Smith’s oath to support and maintain the US and NC Constitutions.  Do not raise the “Oath Question”, although Judge Smith’s oath is improper.  State:  “The people elect their judges to support and maintain the Constitution of the United States and that of the State of North Carolina, where it is not in contravention thereto.  An unconstitutional act is void from the beginning.  It creates no office and grants no authority.  (16AmJur2d)
9.                   Your Honor, failure to allow your order to be vacated and this complaint to move forward in a proper form to provide relief from this probable violation to our Constitutional law would be a treasonous act, a violation of our oaths to the Constitution and to the people of this country.  There is a constitutional remedy for my complaint and this court at law has the authority to grant it.  While I have admitted previously that the court has no equity jurisdiction in this matter, it does have jurisdiction at law under the Constitution and the authority to grant the relief I seek.

That having been said, it is apparent from the passage of more than a year since I filed this class action complaint for injunctive relief that this is no longer a matter seeking equitable relief, but instead one seeking a remedy at law, in this case constitutional law.  That remedy must be in the form of common law mandamus authority rather than injunctive relief due to the overwhelming events of this past year and the judicial delays starting from day one.  In any event, the relief I am seeking has not changed: An order to the remaining Defendant Board of Elections to validate the eligibility of Barack Obama to be the President of the United States of America.  Therefore, I request this court vacate the order dismissing my complaint and grant leave to amend the complaint as a petition for the common law writ of mandamus in this matter.  Thank you for listening, Your Honor.

[After denying my motion, off the record, the judge asked me if there were any more cases out there on the subject of Obama’s eligibility.  I told him there were two that I knew of, the Barnett case in California federal court, and the recently filed Quo Warranto in DC.]

10.               Jury demand after positive ruling.  [The judge denied my motion, so I didn’t pursue this option.]
11.               POINT OF ORDER – Oath question after negative ruling.  [I presented the discussion of the impropriety of Judge Smith’s oath, along with nearly all other officers in the State, including attorneys and all grand and petit juries.  He took home with him my written summary of the issue along with a copy of his oath, a proper oath by Judge Allen Cobb, a copy of the oath sheet used by the clerk of Pender County criminal court, copies of NCGS 11-11 and 11-7, and a copy of the oath given to attorneys written by the State Bar.  He and the judicial officers in the court seemed genuinely interested in the arguments presented.  I informed the judge that his privilege of immunity was not in effect until he is properly sworn and the oath filed with the county clerk of court.  He assured me he would research my information and inform me as to what action he would take, if any.]

John Brennan, Obama, Terrorism policies, Unholy alliance?, Obama passport, Brennan firm cauterized Obama’s passport info, John Brennan’s stance on terrorism documented

The following is a snippet of an upcoming article about John Brennan, Obama, their unholy alliance and their stance on terrorism. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

From the Washington Times, march 20, 2008.

“Obama passport files violated; 2 workers at State fired; 1 rebuked”

“Two State Department employees were fired recently and a third disciplined for improperly accessing electronic personal data on Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, Bush administration officials said today.
The officials, all contract workers, used their authorized computer network access to look up files within the department’s consular affairs section, which processes and stores passport information, and read Mr. Obama’s passport application and other records, in violation of department privacy rules, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.”

“Passport application data includes such details as date and place of birth, e-mail address, mailing address, Social Security number, former names and travel plans. Mr. Obama was born in Honolulu in 1961 to a Kenyan father and American mother. He lived in Jakarta, Indonesia, from age six to 10.”

From Fox News, March 21, 2008.

“The State Department confirmed late Friday that the contractors who gained improper access to Barack Obama’s passport files worked for two Virginia-based companies, after Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice promised a full investigation into breaches that affected all three presidential candidates.”

“The other company was identified as The Analysis Corporation.”

At a time when few people knew much about the past of Barack Obama, a commenter on the Citizen Wells blog, Katherine, on March 21, 2008, wrote the following.

“Obama has a dual citizenship with Kenya. His passport was breached today by inquiring minds because Obama is an anti-Israel pro-pan-arabism Islamic-socialist who has ties to marxist Libyan president Muammar al Gadaffi, Syrian tycoon Antoin Rezko, Saudi Arabian sheikhs, and Rezko’s “close friend” 3.5 million money pal Auchi, the one who gave Obama fundraiser money: Iraqi billionaire global arms dealer Nadhmi Auchi, was Baathist best friends with Saddam Hussein, and the main financial backer for Saddam’s Iraqi-Saudi oil pipeline, and who stood trial with Saddam in 1959 for conspiring to assassinate Iraqi President Qasim, (Saddam even killed Auchi’s brother, but they remained best friends), also marxist Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega is on the frontline supporting Obama for the revolution of the change, and then there’s hardcore anti-Israel, pro-Palestine PLO enforcer Rashid Khalidi, (Obama was on Khalidi’s Woods Fund). Obama was a member of the Woods Fund with communist domestic terrorist Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground who bombed the Pentagon, the US Capital, among other things, and their organization raised money for anti-Israel programs, and also AAAN, for Arabs, and then there’s especially Kenya… where in August of 2007 Obama went to support his E. Germany communist educated cousin Raila Odinga for Kenyan presidential election who claims, coincidentally, to also be a Christian yet who signed NAMLEF and other pacts with radical Muslims who set churches filled with Christians on fire, and macheted them in the streets, causing a political and religious mini-civil war over the MuO.
Sorry folks, I studied all of Obama’s mentors, buddies, political affiliations, organizational memberships, and all of his *hard-core militant Muslim* family members, like his brother Abongo “Roy” Odinga who hates America, and their communist grandfather who ran with Russia and hated America, not to mention his socialist connection to his profound childhood mentor Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Communist Party, CPUSA, and…well, we know Pastor Wright, Jesse Jackson, Jesse Jackson JR, Al Sharpton, and Nation of Islam minister Louis Farrakhan….and they have a *few* issues with america, white people, and jews—> so simply reverse it, and you’ll see they care about: Africa, Blacks, and Muslims, which can be corroborated by things they have said along with their affiliations.
*Don’t forget that Obama’s 2004 U.S. Senate political opponent, Republican Alan Keyes, accused Obama of being a “hard-core academic Marxist.”
-Marxist Nicaraguan President’s endorsement is for Obama, and he says: “It’s not to say that there is already a revolution under way in the U.S.; but yes, they [supporters of Barack Obama] are laying the foundations for a revolutionary change”
*Obama’s endorsement by Black Panthers. Check out their politics, ahem. Well, they are Marxist, of course.
__Militant Islam is the new Communism.__
**Socialism must be accompsihed through proletariat exchange, a revolution, and if you really see it, easily, you will see that the west, america, white people–rich white people–are the enemy. Obama titled his book “Audacity of Hope” after Pastor Wright’s sermon about the need to destroy capitalism and the middle-class at the hands of rich white america and the west. Race OVERRULES religion. POLITICS overrule race and religion: it’s about the change.
Pan-Arabism and Islamic-Socialism spans globally, it embraces not just governments as such but also individuals. All-black-brown people who are against the bourgeoise…rich-white, capitalist, american, western power:”

I repeat, this was written on March 21, 2008.

John Brennan has been in the news constantly, recently, regarding his and the Obama Administration’s stance on terrorism. There is much more to this unholy alliance.

Pastor James Manning accuses Columbia University of treason, Obama in Afghanistan, Obama hides college records, Manchurian candidate, Harvard paid from Middle East money, Obama Columbia Sundial article, 1983, Dr Manning finds no record, Why has Obama employed legions of private and government attorneys?

“Why has Obama employed a legion of private and Government attorneys to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells and millions of Americans

Most of what we know about Barack Obama comes from Chicago corruption trial transcripts, Illinois records such as the IL bar and internet data that has not yet been scrubbed. Obama has kept hidden most of the records of his life.

Obama certainly has a connection to Columbia University. Obama was given a diploma and grades from Columbia sufficient to allow him to enter Harvard. Since Obama has employed many private and government attorneys to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records, we have no proof of his grades or even his attendance and graduation. Also disturbing is the fact that a Middle Eastern source apparently paid for his Harvard education.
Middle East money pays for Obama Harvard education

And don’t forget, Obama first made contact with Tony Rezko, the convicted Chicago corruption figure with long time ties to Obama and many Middle East ties, while attending Harvard.
Pastor Dr. James Manning of Atlah Ministries in Harlem, New York City is accusing Columbia University of treason. Pastor Manning states that Obama was training in Afghanistan instead of attending Columbia. Dr. manning further states that Columbia University covered for Obama.

What do we know of Obama being enrolled in, graduating from or otherwise being associated with Columbia University?

Prescious little!

Here is an article that is credited to Obama from the Columbia University Sundial in 1983.

“BREAKING THE WAR MENTALITY”

“Most students at Columbia do not have first hand knowledge of war.  Military violence has been a vicarious experience, channeled into our minds through television, film, and print.

The more sensitive among us struggle to extrapolate experiences of war from our everyday experience, discussing the latest mortality statistics from Guatemala, sensitizing ourselves to our parents’ wartime memories, or incorporation into our framework of reality as depicted by a Mailer or a Coppola.  But the taste of war – the sounds and chill, the dead bodies – are remote and far removed.”

” This includes bringing speakers like Daniel Ellsberg to campus, publishing fact sheets compiled by interested faculty, and investigating the possible development of an interdisciplinary program in the Columbia curriculum dealing with peace, disarmament and world order.”

“This year, Mark Bigelow sees the checking of Pershing II and Cruise missile deployment as crucial.  “Because of their small size and mobility, their deployment will make possible arms control verification far more difficult, and will cut down warning time for the Soviets to less than ten minutes.”
“At this time, the current major issue is the Solomon Bill, the latest legislation from Congress to obtain compliance to registration.  The law requires that all male students applying for federal financial aid submit proof of registration, or else the government coffers will close.  Yale, Wesleyan, and Swathmore have refused to comply, and plan to offer non-registrants other forms of financial aid.  SAM hopes to press Columbia into following suit, though so far President Sovern and company seem prepared to acquiesce to the bill.

Robert believes students tacitly support non-registrants, though the majority did not comply.  “Several students have come up to our tables and said that had they known of the ineffectiveness of prosecution, they would not have registered.”  A measure of such underlying support is the 400 signatures, on a petition protesting the Solomon Bill, which SAM collected the first four hours it appeared.  Robert also points out that prior to registration, there were four separate bills circulation in the House proposing a return to the draft, but none ever got out of committees, and there have not been renewed efforts.  An estimated half-million registrants can definitely be a powerful signal.”
Alleged 1983 Obama Columbia article

Did Barack Obama write this article?

Was Obama influenced by someone or some government?

Was Obama attending Columbia University when this article was printed?

Why was the first sentence “Most students at Columbia do not have first hand knowledge of war.”?

There is very little else to indicate that Obama was actively enrolled as a student at Columbia University. This is supposedly a roommate, Sohale Siddiqi.

There are some references to an address on the East Side of New York, but no one living there has a remembrance of Obama.

So what else about Obama and his past looks suspicious in regard to Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Soviet Union, etc.

The Citizen Wells blog presented a four part series in May 2009, Obama, the Manchurian Candidate.

Obama, Manchurian Candidate Part 1

“For over a year, many people have wondered about the puppeteers behind the scenes controlling Barack Obama and directing his socialist agenda. Many have used the description of Manchurian Candidate when referring to Obama and his dubious past and radical, socialist, leftist ties.

The best documented aspect of Obama’s past as it relates to possible ties with socialist and communist countries, is his strong, long time ties to socialists, leftists and radicals. Here are a few of the more blatant ones.”
Obama, Manchurian Candidate Part 1

Obama, Manchurian Candidate Part 2

“And as the Columbia News Service reported, the Young Communist League has mobilised to campaign for Obama: doubtless the Democratic Party is less than anxious to divulge to the nation this particular affiliation of these young activists who are helping it get out the Democratic vote.”

“In 1982 testimony, FBI assistant director for intelligence Edward J. O’Malley testified that the CPUSA has been ‘one of the most loyal and pro-Soviet Communist Parties in the world and has unfalteringly accepted Soviet direction and funding over the years.’ The recent book, Comrade J, based on interviews with a Russian spymaster at the United Nations, documents that Soviet intelligence operations against the U.S. continued even as the Soviet Union collapsed and Russia emerged in its place.”

There are multiple reasons why Obama is not eligible to be president under the US Constitution. One is that his father was a British citizen. Without elaborating on the significance of this, if you are not well versed on this subject, start by reading the US Constituiton. The founding fathers used this wording for a reason:

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;”

That had to be included to make the founding fathers eligible due to their ties to England.

That being said, we still do not know where Obama was born. His college records also will tell the tale. That is why Obama is keeping the tell tale documents hidden.

Obama should be arrested for treason.

Obama does not have to be impeached because per the 20th amendment to the US Constitution, he was not eligible.

We have a Usurper in the White House.

Does Paster James Manning ‘s allegation seem so far fetched now?

Pastor James Manning, Columbia University treason, Obama treason, Manning claims Obama did not attend, Alleged Columbia Obama article, 1983, Breaking the war mentality

Pastor James Manning of Atlah Ministries in Harlem, New York City, is charging Columbia University with treason. Pastor Manning alleges that Obama was in Afghanistan during the period of time from 1981 to 1983 when Obama was supposedly attending Columbia. The following document is allegedly an article written by Barack Obama in 1983 and published in the  Sundial . The Citizen Wells blog will be publishing an article soon that will shed light on why Dr. James Manning’s allegations may not be as far fetched as the casual observer may believe. It is believed at the Citizen Wells blog that Obama was probably enrolled and/or affiliated with Columbia University. The question is, what was that connection and did Obama, as Manning alleges, spend much time in Afghanistan.

Here is the text from the article, typed for clarity. Below is a link to a copy of the article. No claims are made here as to the authenticity of the article or as to whether Barack Obama is the author. Commentary about the content will be reserved for the following article.

“BREAKING THE WAR MENTALITY

By Barack Obama

Most students at Columbia do not have first hand knowledge of war.

But the taste of war – the sounds and chill, the dead bodies – are remote and far removed.  We know that wars have occurred, will occur, are occurring, but bringing such experience down into our hearts, and taking continual, tangible steps to prevent war, becomes a difficult task.

Two groups on campus, Arms Race Alternatives (ARA) and Students Against Militarism (SAM), work within these mental limits to foster awareness and practical action necessary to counter the growing threat of war.  Though the emphasis of the two groups differ, they share an aversion to current government policy.  These groups, visualizing the possibilities of destruction and grasping the tendencies of distorted national priorities, are throwing their weight into shifting America off the dead-end track.

Most people my age remember well the air-raid drills in school, under the desk with our heads tucked between our legs.  Older people, they remember the Cuban Missile Crisis.  I think these kinds of things left an indelible mark on our souls, so we’re more apt to be concerned,” says Don Kent, assistant director of programs and student activities at Earl Hall Center.  Along with the community Volunteer Service Center, ARA has been Don’s primary concern, coordinating various working groups of faculty, students, and staff.  “Hot issues, particularly El Salvador, were occupying students at the time, consequently, we cosponsored a lot of activities with community organizations like SANE (Students Against Nuclear Energy).”

With the flowering of the nuclear Freeze movement, and particularly the June 12 rally in Central Park, however, student participation has expanded.  One wonders whether this upsurge stems from young people’s penchant for the latest “happenings”, or from growing awareness of the consequences of nuclear holocaust.  ARA maintains a mailing list of 500 persons and Don Kent estimates that approximately half of the active members are students.  Although he feels that continuity is provided by the faculty and staff members, student attendance at ARA sponsored events – in particular a November 11 convocation on the nuclear threat – reveals a deep reservoir of concern.  “I think students on this campus like to think of themselves as sophisticated, and don’t appreciate small vision.  So they tend to come out more for the events; they do not want to just fold leaflets.”

Mark Bigelow, a graduate intern from Union
Theological Seminary who works with Dan to keep ARA running smoothly, agrees.  “It seems that students here are fairly aware of the nuclear problem, and it makes for an underlying frustration.  We try to talk to that frustration.”  Consequently, the thrust of ARA is towards generating dialogue which will give people a rational handle on this controversial subject.  This includes bringing speakers like Daniel Ellsberg to campus, publishing fact sheets compiled by interested faculty, and investigating the possible development of an interdisciplinary program in the Columbia curriculum dealing with peace, disarmament and world order.

Tied in with such a thrust is the absence of what Don calls “a party line.”  By taking an almost apolitical approach to the problem, ARA hopes to get the university to take nuclear arms issues seriously.  “People don’t like having their intelligence insulted,” says Don. “so we try to disseminate information and allow the individual to make his or her own decision.”

Generally, the narrow focus of the Freeze movement as well as academic discussions of first versus second strike capabilities, suit the military-industrial interests, as they continue adding in their billion dollar erector sets.  When Peter Tosh sings that “everybody’s asking for peace, but nobody’s asking for justice,” one is forced to wonder whether disarmament or arms control issues, severed from economic and political issues, might be another instance of focusing on the symptoms of a problem instead of the disease itself.  Mark Bigelow does not think so.  “We do focus primarily on catastrophic weapons.

Look, we say, here’s the worst part, let’s work on that.  You’re not going to get rid of the military in the near future, so let’s at least work on this.”

Mark Bigelow does feel that the links are there, and points to fruitful work being done by other organizations involved with disarmament.  “The Freeze is one part of a whole disarmament movement. The lowest common denominator, so to speak.  For instance, April 10-16 is Jobs For Peace week, with a bunch of things going on around the city.  Also, the New York City Council may pass a resolution in April calling for greater social as opposed to military spending.  Things like this may dispel the idea that disarmament is a white issue, because how the government spends its revenue affects everyone.”

The very real advantages of concentrating on a single issue is leading the National Freeze movement to challenge individual missile systems, while continuing the broader campaign.  This year, Mark Bigelow sees the checking of Pershing II and Cruise missile deployment as crucial.  “Because of their small size and mobility, their deployment will make possible arms control verification far more difficult, and will cut down warning time for the Soviets to less than ten minutes.  That can only be a destabilizing factor.  “Additionally, he sees the initiation by the U.S. of the Test Ban Treaty as a powerful first step towards a nuclear free world.

ARA encourages members to join buses to Washington and participate in a March 7-8 rally intended to push through the Freeze resolution which is making its seconds trip through the House.  ARA also will ask United Campuses to Prevent Nuclear War (UCAM), an information and lobbying network based in universities, nationwide, to serve as its advisory board in the near future.  Because of its autonomy from Columbia (which does not fund political organizations) UCAM could conceivably become a more active arm of disarmament campaigns on campus, though the ARA will continue to function solely as a vehicle for information and discussion.

Also operating out of Earl Hall Center, Students Against Militarism was formed in response to the passage of registration laws in 1980.  An entirely student-run organization, SAM casts a wider net than ARA, though for the purposes of effectiveness, they have tried to lock in on one issue at a time.

“At the heart of our organization is an anti-war focus”, says junior Robert Kahn, one of SAM’s fifteen or so active members.  “From there, a lot of issues shoot forth – nukes, racism, the draft, and South Africa.  “We have been better organized when taking one issue at a time, but we are always cognizant of other things going on, and collaborate frequently with other campus organizations like CISPES and REEL-POLITIK.”

At this time, the current major issue is the Solomon Bill, the latest legislation from Congress to obtain compliance to registration.

An estimated half-million registrants can definitely be a powerful signal.

Prodding students into participating beyond name signing and attending events is tricky, but SAM members seem undaunted.  “A lot of the problem comes not from people’s ignorance of the facts, but because the news and statistics are lifeless.  That’s why we search for campus issues like the Solomon bill that have direct impact on the student body, and effectively link the campus to broader issues.”  By organizing and educating the Columbia community, such activities lay the foundation for future mobilization against the relentless, often silent spread of militarism in the county.  “The time is right to tie together social and military issues, “Robert continues, “and the more strident the Administration becomes, the more aware people are of their real interests.

The belief that moribund institutions, rather than individuals are at the root of the problem, keep SAM’s energies alive.  “A prerequisite for members of an organization like ours is the faith that people are fundamentally good, but you need to show them.  And when you look at the work people are doing across the county, it makes you optimistic.

Perhaps the essential goodness of humanity is an arguable proposition, but by observing the SAM meeting last Thursday night, with its solid turnout and enthusiasm, one might be persuaded that the manifestations of our better instincts can at least match the bad ones.   Regarding Columbia’s possible compliance, one comment in particular hit upon an important point with the Solomon bill, “The thing we need to do is expose how Columbia is talking out of two sides of its mouth.”

Indeed the most pervasive malady of the collegiate system specifically, and the American experience generally, in that elaborate patterns of knowledge and theory have been disembodied from individual choices and government policy.  What the members of ARA and SAM try to do is infuse what they have learned about the current situation, bring the words of that formidable roster on the face of Butler Library, names like Thoreau, Jefferson, and Whitman, to bear on the twisted logic of which we are today a part.  By adding their energy and effort in order to enhance the possibility of a decent world, they may help deprive us of a spectacular experience – that of war.  But then, there are some things we shouldn’t have to live through in order to want to avoid the experience.”

January 2, 2010, Obama Got Pre Christmas Intelligence Briefing About Terror Threats, Obama had warnings all year from Kirk Lippold, Guantanamo, Gitmo, Islamic terrorists

Newsweek reports January 1, 2010.

“Obama Got Pre-Christmas Intelligence Briefing About Terror Threats to “Homeland””

“President Barack Obama received a high-level briefing only three days before Christmas about possible holiday-period terrorist threats against the US, Newsweek has learned. The briefing was centered on a written report, produced by US intelligence agencies, entitled “Key Homeland Threats”, a senior US official said.

The senior Administration official, who asked for anonymity when discussing sensitive information, said that nowhere in this document was there any mention of Yemen, whose Al-Qaeda affiliate is now believed to have been behind the unsuccessful Christmas Day attempt by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to bring down a transatlantic airliner with a bomb hidden in his underpants. However, the official declined to disclose any other information about the substance of the briefing, including what kind of specific warnings, if any, the President was given about possibly holiday attacks and whether Yemen came up during oral discussions.

According to the senior official, the holiday threat briefing, one in a series of regularly-scheduled sessions with top counter-terrorism officials, was held in the White House Situation Room on December 22. Present were representatives of agencies involved in counter-terrorism policy and operations, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and FBI Director Robert Mueller. The CIA and National Intelligence Directors Office were represented by deputy agency heads: CIA deputy director Steven Kappes, and David Gompert, the principal deputy to National Intelligence Czar Dennis Blair. Also present was Michael Leiter, director of the National Counter-terrorism Center, a unit of the Intelligence Czar’s office which was created after 9/11 to ensure that intelligence reporting about possible terrorist plots was shared quickly among all US agencies who might have some capability to do something about it.

The senior official said that beginning in early December, based on reports coming in from intelligence agencies, policy-makers had begun tracking a stream of information which alluded to a possible holiday-period plot against the US orchestrated from somewhere in Pakistan. However, the official said, this reporting later turned out to be “garbled” and it was determined that the threat probably was a washout. The official denied that the White House received any report, representing the concensus of US intelligence agencies, warning that a Holiday-period plot originating in Yemen and targeting the US homeland could be in the works.

In a background briefing for reporters on December 29, also attributed in an official White House transcript to a “senior administration official”, that official asserted that in the wake of the attempted underpants attack, it had become clear to the President and top advisors that before Christmas, the US government was in posession of “bits and pieces” of information, which, if they had been properly knitted together, “could have…allowed us to disrupt the attack or certainly to know much more about the alleged attacker in such a way as to ensure that he was on, as the President suggested in his statement, a no-fly list.” In the briefing, the official identified three rough categories of information that the government had which could have been relevant to foiling the attack: information about Abdulmutallab and his plans, info about Al-Qaeda and their plans, and info “about potential attacks during the holiday period.””

Obama was warned all year about closing Gitmo (Guantanamo) and the increasing Islamic terrorist threat from Yemen. One of those warning Obama, retired Commander Kirk Lippold, has first hand knowledge of the threat that Yemen poses.

“Feb 6, 2009 – CMDR Lippold visited Fox and Friends to discuss the closure of GITMO and the decision to drop all charges on Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the terrorist responsible for the USS Cole bombing, which killed 17 American sailors. “

Recently, Commander Kirk Lippold had this to say about Obama’s strategy:

Obviously, to get Obama’s attention, one has to be a leftist, socialist Czar.

Barack Obama, Commander in chief?, US Constitution, Oath of office, US Military, ZachJonesIsHome, Tortured Duty & Tortured Mission, Military service, Natural born citizen issue will not go away

“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and
defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies,
foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to
the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental
reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully
discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter.
So help me God.”
US Military officer’s oath of office

Officers in the service of the United States are
bound by this oath to disobey any order that
violates the Constitution of the United States.

From the 20th Amendment to the US Constitution.

“or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until
a President shall have qualified;”

I never refer to Barack Obama as president. The 20th Amendment to the US Constitution reveals why.

Zach, the name I use for the owner of the Zach Jones Is Home blog, has been a patriot blogger for almost two years, in the struggle to expose the truth about Barack Obama and to save this country. I have had many phone and email discussions with Zach. He has been an invaluable contributor to this blog and to the combined efforts of citizen journalists. In the article below provided by Zach today, January 1, 2010, Zach writes of his and his family’s military service. I would like to thank Zach, his family and all of those who have served this country in the military. I would also like to thank Zach for his efforts to reveal the truth about Obama and to take back this country.

From Zach Jones Is Home, January 1, 2010.

“American Soldiers – Tortured Duty & Tortured Mission – The Whys and Whats Becoming Harder to Answer?”

“Families that honor military service are spread all across this nation.  I grew up in one. Even as a teenager in the sixties, I remember knowing that freedom wasn’t free.  My father had served in Patton’s 3rd Army, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and served as a guard at the Nuremberg War Trials. How could I not know the price of freedom? WWII, now that was a just war.  Everyone knew it.  Everyone knew the war had to be won at all costs because failure clearly meant tyranny and death for an entire people, the Jewish people. Everyone knew, even the media knew the Whys and Whats.  Why they were fighting? What they were fighting for? They knew the cost of winning and losing! And,  victory wasn’t a dirty word.

However, my brother and I served in the United States Navy during a time in America’s history dominated by numbing callousness, selfishness, and indifference.  The loss of the Vietnam War brought about by the media and endless protests of duplicitous, naïve dreamers and schemers; the festering pain of Watergate continuously exploited by politicians in D.C., the good but lackluster caretaker President Ford portrayed as a bumbling stumbling fool on Saturday Night Live, the My Lai massacre and Lt. Calley’s conviction not quite distant enough to avoid its stench, and a war/corruption weary people’s vote for change promised by Jimmy Carter all marked this period.  Amazingly, like today, Carter’s change didn’t live up to expectations. Instead it brought gas lines, high inflation, 20+ percent interest rates and high unemployment – despair.”

“It was a perfect storm that had brought us Carter Presidency.  And with it’s battered and bruised image, the United States military seemed to have a hell of time riding out that storm until President Reagan could put his hands to the reigns. Reagan’s zero-tolerance drug testing came along after I got out and things started turning around rather quickly according to my brother.  I believe the foundation that President Reagan built (or rebuilt) continues to serve soldiers today and will not be easily surrendered by the military leadership.”

“See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil is not a command structure that serves the military or the individual soldier well.  Neither is going with the flow.

But it’s the military leadership, the career guys and gals, who have a shot at controlling or changing the flow. Yes, sometimes they fail, but it’s their job to address the issues. It’s especially egregious when they, like politicians, just won’t see or acknowledge that something is becoming a problem – when they don’t want to get ‘their’ hands dirty or risk jeopardizing ‘their’ career paths.  Two words – Ft. Hood.

And so I come to write this conflicted accolade to today’s American Soldier.”

“Soldiers serving in the first few years after 9/11 must have had an incredible sense of the Whys and Whats that carried them through each and every day.”

“Today, we have Obama in the Oval Office and a Democratic controlled Congress (dominated by the radical left since 2006) and they are galloping as fast as they can towards creating a socialist system that would make Vladimir Ilyich Lenin proud. If you look past the rhetoric you easily see that they are attempting to create larger and larger voting blocks that are wholly dependent on the federal government, hands out, afraid to question anything, afraid to vote for anyone calling for personal responsibility. Having a nation of sheeple, like birds at a bird feeder, is not good for the country or our future. Look at the recent action Obama took diminishing our American sovereignty on Dec. 17. Constitution be damned.  Does anyone really think the Second Amendment is safe?”

“I use the phrase “defending freedom overseas” instead of “around the world” because, as much as I love them, I’m not sure they are defending our freedoms at home.  I can’t really blame the enlisted soldier because when I was in the military, I didn’t have time to keep up with what politicians at home were attempting to do to us. I basically thought politicians were all self-serving pieces of crap and the voting process would weed them out.  Unfortunately, that’s not the case today. (The statement that politicians “were all self-serving pieces of crap” is still accurate, but the vote might not be able to undo the damage they are doing to our freedoms and the Constitution.)

And the military leadership continues to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and ignore “the flow” that’s becoming more and more turbulent.

(And the American soldier is expected to accept “the flow” as he or she finds it?)”

“All of these illustrate situations where officers up the chain of command, including the “Commander In Chief”, appear ready to shirk their duty to the Constitution and America Soldiers under their command so they can protect their relatively trivial career ambitions and/or pursue their personal political agendas.

This is when it becomes hard to answer the Whats and Whys.  What does support and defend the Constitution mean?  Who are the enemies of the United States?  Why am I defending something that seems optional for my superior officers?   What is really important to the chain of command – advancement, career or the Oath? Who are the Oathkeepers? Why should I obey my superior officers when they choose to ignore parts of the Constitution? What’s the point? What am I doing that protects the Constitution and the Freedoms of my family and friends?”

“The duty – I think of this as the soldier doing his or her best to live up to the oath they took when they enlisted.  Basically the duty is to support, protect and defend the Constitution and the freedoms/protections flowing from it to each and every citizen.”

“The “natural born citizen” issue will not go away and I’m sure it’s on the minds of many in the military; it affects morale, re-enlistment decisions, and how many traditional military supporters view the institution.  It’s similar to how the epidemic of drug use in the 70’s military effected civilians & soldiers who knew about the problem and cared about what it said about the institution.”

“To the American Soldier – Thank you for your service and sacrifices for this country.

I am truly sorry to be in the position of having to speak so bluntly about an institution that I love.”

Kirk Lippold, Retired Commander USS Cole, Obama, Gitmo, Yemen, Glenn Beck Show Fox, December 30, 2009, CIA whipping boy, Enemy combatants, War on terror, Keep Guantanamo open

Kirk Lippold, retired Commander of the USS Cole and David Katz CEO of Global Security Group were interviewed on the Glenn Beck Show on Fox, yesterday, December 30, 2009. Commander Lippold is an American hero and tells it like it is. He  blasts the last three administrations. Kirk Lippold has been warning about closing Gitmo and threats from Yemen all year. This is another case of Obama not listening to military experts.

Some of the issues Commander Lippold addressed directly and succintly:

  • Keep Guantanamo open.
  • Military commissions process works.
  • Not criminal actions. Terrorists are enemy combatants.
  • This is a war on terror.
  • Quit making the CIA the whipping boy of this administration.

Damage to the USS Cole

Our sincere thanks to Commander Kirk Lippold for his service and especially for speaking the truth boldly.

Napolitano must go, Citizens group, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, ALIPAC, Terrorist attack, Christmas day, Unlimited US visa to Detroit terrorism suspect, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab

From The Examiner, December 30, 2009.

“”Napolitano must go!” says citizens group”

“A growing number of cops believe Napolitano is an empty-suit at best, a political hack at worst.”

“Americans who value their security, freedoms, and future prosperity are being encouraged to call the White House immediately to demand the resignation or termination of Janet Napolitano for overt and gross dereliction of duty after revelations her department issued an unlimited US visa to Detroit terrorism suspect “crotch bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), one of the nation’s largest pro-border and immigration enforcement national organization, is asking citizens to call or e-mail the White House via this link http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/ to demand that President Obama terminate Janet Napolitano immediately.

“President Obama has a few days to fire Napolitano before the American public will place full blame for the grotesque failure by the Department of Homeland Security in his lap!” said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. “If Obama fails to fire or demand the resignation of Napolitano, then he will indicate he is willing to support these kinds betrayals of government trust.”

Janet Napolitano is facing increasing criticism as more is learned about the attempted terrorist attack. Her comments claiming ”one thing I’d like to point out is that the system worked,” have set off a firestorm of public anger. In 2009 Napolitano has focused her department on supporting amnesty legislation for illegal aliens and casting terrorism suspicion on Americans opposed to the Obama administration instead of focusing on protecting the nation from terrorism attacks.

President Obama came to her defense on Monday claiming that the U.S. government is doing all it can to protect U.S. citizens.”

“ALIPAC is now launching a national campaign to demand that President Obama place Janet Napolitano on leave or accept her immediate resignation.

Current U.S. laws require all immigration applicants to be screened against terrorism watch lists. The Department of Homeland Security’s issuance of a visa to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, after he appeared on the watch lists, is a violation of US law.”

“Jim Kouri, CPP is currently fifth vice-president of the National Association of Chiefs of Police and he’s a columnist for The Examiner (examiner.com) and New Media Alliance (thenma.org). In addition, he’s a blogger for the Cheyenne, Wyoming Fox News Radio affiliate KGAB (www.kgab.com). Kouri also serves as political advisor for Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor Michael Moriarty.”

This article is interesting because it reveals several important aspects about Obama’s motivation and attitude.

1. Disrespect for soldiers and the military.
2. Obama pandering to the far left, his core support.
3. The hidden motivation. Obama had monetary ties to many with deep, suspicious ties to the Middle East. This will be explored futher in an upcoming article.

From Michelle Malkin ,  February 12, 2007.

“Obama: Soldier deaths = “Wasted” lives”

“Sen. Barack Obama’s nutroots are showing. RedStateLady has the video of Obama arguing that each and every member of the military who volunteered to serve and died in Iraq wasted his/her life:”

“Of course he thinks their lives were wasted. Everyone on the anti-war side does; that’s one of the reasons they want to end the war. But they can’t say that because it dishonors the dead so they’re forced into rhetorical pretzels like the one Pelosi tied herself into a few weeks ago with Diane Sawyer. Army Lawyer summed up her position at the time thusly: “They didn’t die for nothing, they died for something stupid.””

“I could go on, but it would be a waste of breath trying to get Sen. Obama to acknowledge the existence of countless soldiers and their families who reject his patronizing, infantilizing, and insulting view of all American troops as dupes/victims who have squandered their lives.”

We were all warned, long before I and others opened our eyes to the background and agenda of Barack Obama, the handwriting was on the wall.

From Michelle Malkin,  December 30, 2009.

“Yemen, Gitmo, and jihadi revolving doors”

“My column today spotlights Yemen’s dangerous catch-and-release program for terrorists — and ours. But before you read it, please inform yourselves of this sad passing: American sailor/U.S.S. Cole bombing survivor Johan Gokool died in Florida yesterday. He lost a leg in the attack and suffered severe PTSD. Gokool was 31. R.I.P. and never forget.”

“Bleeding hearts and jihadi revolving doors”

“Sen. Joe Lieberman was right to sound the alarm about Yemen in the wake of the Undy-Bomber’s Christmas Day terror attack over American skies. But he was wrong to call it “tomorrow’s war.” The Yemen-based jihadist network has been at war with us for years – since before the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions, since before 9/11, and well before our current commander-in-chief had begun his vaunted work as a community organizer.
The bleeding-heart ostriches of the Left are blaming (who else?) cowboy George W. Bush for radicalizing poor, oppressed Yemenis. But the killer fruits of botched bomber Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab’s loom have nothing to do with poverty, social injustice, Western imperialism, or Bush Derangement Syndrome. The fundamentalist Muslim is the privileged son of a Nigerian public official. He lived a “gilded life,” as the Independent of London described it, studying engineering at one of Britain’s most prestigious universities before training for terror in Yemen.”

“America, unfortunately, is hardly in a position to criticize Yemen’s jihadi revolving door. ABC News reported this week that two of the four jihadi leaders behind the Christmas Day terror plot were released from Gitmo during the Bush administration in November 2007. (What a quandary for Bush-bashers who have stubbornly denied that Gitmo recidivism threatens our national security.) The freed detainees were shipped off to terror-friendly Saudi Arabia, where they underwent “art therapy rehabilitation” – the ultimate bloody brainchild of the jihadi-as-victim mindset.”

“Hundreds of Yemeni detainees at Gitmo abandoned the benefit of the doubt years ago. Yet, Attorney General Eric Holder’s law firm, Covington and Burling, has provided dozens of them pro bono legal representation and sob-story media relations campaigns. True to form, former Covington and Burling lawyer Mark Falkoff dedicated a book of Gitmo detainee poetry to his Yemeni suspected terrorist “friends inside the wire.” And the White House is rolling out the red carpet to bring them to U.S. soil for civilian trials.
At a time when we should be disabling the jihadi revolving door, its rotating shaft is spinning out of control.”
