Little by little it has been happening. American citizens are waking up to the reality of Barack Obama. Generals are speaking out, the economy is shaky, Obama’s socialist agenda is obvious and the Rod Blagojevich trial continues. I am following up on something I discovered from the trial evidence. It could be a small smoking gun.

“The Declaration of Independence states:
“To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.”
We cannot permit the current leaders in the White House and Halls of Congress to continue in their efforts to lead us down the road of Progressive Socialism and destruction of America. This is the current battle that we Constitutionalists face and we must be aggressive in our efforts. Incompetence, Deceit, Fraud, Corruption, Dishonesty and Violation of the US Constitution of officials now come into play as relates to our National Character, National Security, Economy and the Nation’s well-being and is the rationale for resignations. Demand Resignation of derelict officials by the people of this country in now required.
Where is our Moral Compass?
The oath of office is simple and reads:
“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
Sadly, we have seen them violate their oath. Fraud, lying, and corruption are rampant and some have engaged in treasonous activities, and they effectively thumb their noses at us and have sold you to the highest bidder.”

“We now must call for the immediate resignation of Barry Soetoro (AKA President Barack Hussein Obama) — based on Incompetence, Deceit, Fraud, Corruption, Dishonesty and Violation of the US Constitution.
And a call for a National Petition for new elections to select the next President of the United States of America must be initiated. We can wait no longer for a change of Power and new Government.”

Major General Paul E. Vallely, retired

“Paul E. Vallely retired in 1991 from the US Army as Deputy Commanding General, US Army, Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. General Vallely graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned in the Army in 1961 serving a distinguishing career of 32 years in the Army. He served in many overseas theaters to include Europe and the Pacific Rim Countries as well as two combat tours in Vietnam. He has served on US security assistance missions on civilian-military relations to Europe, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Central America with in-country experience in Indonesia, Columbia, El Salvador, Panama, Honduras and Guatemala.

General Vallely is a graduate of the Infantry School, Ranger and Airborne Schools, Jumpmaster School, the Command and General Staff School, The Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Army War College. His combat service in Vietnam included positions as infantry company commander, intelligence officer, operations officer, military advisor and aide-de-camp. He has over fifteen (15) years experience in Special Operations, Psychological and Civil-Military Operations.

He was one of the first nominees for Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations under President Reagan. From 1982-1986, he commanded the 351st Civil Affairs Command that included all Special Forces, Psychological Warfare and Civil Military units in the Western United States and Hawaii. He was the first President of the National Psychological Operations Association. His units participated in worldwide missions in Europe, Africa, Central America, Japan, Solomon Islands, Guam, Belgium, Korea and Thailand. He has served as a consultant to the Commanding General of the Special Operations Command as well as the DOD Anti-Drug and Counter -Terrorist Task Forces. He also designed and developed the Host-Nation Support Program in the Pacific for DOD and the State Department. Most recently, he has in-country security assistance – experience in El Salvador, Columbia and Indonesia in the development of civil-military relations interfacing with senior level military and civilian leadership.

General Vallely is a military analyst for FOX News Channel and is a guest on many nationally syndicated radio talk shows. He is also a guest lecturer on the War on Terror. He has co-authored “Endgame: The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terror” & “War Footing: 10 Steps America Must Take to Prevail in the War for the Free World.”

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR A JUNE 19TH EVENT – AN EVENING WITH GARY JOHNSON
Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson is coming to Lincoln on June 19th for an event that includes a reception and talk. Those who are interested in elected officials who limit the size of government, protect freedom, and seek to maximize the potential for free enterprise should mark this event on their calendars. 
The event has been organized by the Nebraska Republican Liberty Caucus, for which NE Campaign for Liberty State Director Laura Ebke, serves as Chair. RLC-NE’s mission is to serve as the conscience of the Republican party. As you are likely aware, Grassroots in Nebraska has been working on a number of efforts recently with Laura and the NE Campaign for Liberty group, such as advocating for the passage of the Sovereignty Resolution. When Laura asked if GiN would be a co-host for the Governor Johnson event, it was an easy answer.
Governor Johnson at the very least promises to be have a different perspective from much of what’s being heard from politicians today. While serving as New Mexico’s Governor, Gary Johnson vetoed more legislation than all of the other governors in the U.S. during the same period and reduced spending to the extent that New Mexico’s debt was eliminated. He is proof that limited governance doesn’t mean political “suicide”; he was re-elected and served to the length of NM’s term limits.
Of course, I encourage everyone to forward the information about the event to those who they believe may have an interest. All those who attend may find themselves having been in the position of meeting and assessing a potential 2012 candidate; there are indicators that Governor Johnson may be considering a run for President in the next election.
Finally, in addition to what already promises to be an enjoyable and interesting evening, District 26 Legislative Candidate Tom Dierks (who is running against Senator Amanda McGill) is planning on attending Governor Johnson’s speech and hopefully will have a little time to visit with folks afterwards.

PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS AND NEXT STEPS
Official results from Nebraska’s Primary Election on May 11 can be read in full on the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website. Click HERE.
GiN’s primary stated mission is to promote limited government as originally intended by the Founders – from the bottom-up. That means our emphasis is within Nebraska and focused on its governmental entities. Those of us who actively engaged in the legislative process this past session recognized in order to effectively advocate for limited government and the protection of individual liberty, we need representatives at the Unicameral who share those priorities.
Of course we are interested in who is sent to represent Nebraska in Washington, D.C., but we have ample evidence that 1) The majority of Congress is currently impervious to all evidence of opposition and 2) the climate in Nebraska favors incumbents, particularly those holding federal offices.
If you are interested in an effort to elect Constitutional, limited government candidates to the Nebraska Unicameral, those of us who spent time walking for District 28 Candidate Nancy Russell intend to build upon her solid showing in the primary, and at the request of several GiN members, are considering expanding our efforts to at least two prospective candidates if we can get commitments from a solid core of volunteers. If you are interested in joining in these efforts, please let us know.
IMMIGRATION
A serious “shout-out” must be given to Susan Smith, leader of the Nebraskans Advisory Group (click HERE for the website). Susan has been working very hard on this issue for a very long time. In the coming week, I hope to do an in-depth interview with her regarding several items of importance, particularly regarding an upcoming vote in Fremont pertaining to an illegal immigrant ordinance. I  will send out a message with a link to a post on the GiN website when completed. In the meantime, some information you might find interesting:
The Fremont vote is June 21. A serious effort is underway to register voters by June 11 for the special election on the ordinance noted above.
Susan is urging calls to the Nebraska Congressional delegation; Reps. Terry, Fortenberry, and Smith, urging them to demand National Guard troops be sent to the border and vote no on any amnesty proposal. Click HERE for their contact information.

You will be seeing changes in the next few weeks on the both the main website (http://grassrootsne.com) and the member NING site. The main GiN site could use an improved look, clearer navigation, and more visible links to resources.
Also, NING networks has announced they will begin charging a monthly fee for their services so we will be moving membership to a new location, which will be similar, but hopefully an improvement over the NING site and more integrated into the main website. I will keep folks informed regularly regarding the move.

Memorial Day History

“Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women’s groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War: a hymn published in 1867, “Kneel Where Our Loves are Sleeping” by Nella L. Sweet carried the dedication “To The Ladies of the South who are Decorating the Graves of the Confederate Dead” (Source: Duke University’s Historic American Sheet Music, 1850-1920). While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day. It is more likely that it had many separate beginnings; each of those towns and every planned or spontaneous gathering of people to honor the war dead in the 1860’s tapped into the general human need to honor our dead, each contributed honorably to the growing movement that culminated in Gen Logan giving his official proclamation in 1868. It is not important who was the very first, what is important is that Memorial Day was established. Memorial Day is not about division. It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all.
 

 
Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states. The South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days until after World War I (when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war). It is now celebrated in almost every State on the last Monday in May (passed by Congress with the National Holiday Act of 1971 (P.L. 90 – 363) to ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays), though several southern states have an additional separate day for honoring the Confederate war dead: January 19 in Texas, April 26 in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi; May 10 in South Carolina; and June 3 (Jefferson Davis’ birthday) in Louisiana and Tennessee.”

Florida Attorney General, Health care bill unconstitutional, State attorney generals, Lawsuits, State sovereignty, Congress no authority to mandate health insurance

The tax and control bill being forced down our throats is most certainly not health care reform and most assuredly unconstitutional. Here are some exerpts from a letter written by Florida Attorney General, Bill McCollum, on March 16, 2010.
“As you know, President Obama has announced that he will push forward with health care legislation that includes a living tax on Americans who choose not to purchase health care insurance. Congress may take actiopn as soon as this week to send a bill to the President. After a thorough analysis of the individual mandate to buy health care insurance, I reman convinced it would be unconstitutional if signed into law.”

“Florida Attorney General promises lawsuit against unconstitutional health care bill”
“Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum has written a letter to Jon Bruning, President of the National Association of Attorneys General, inviting him to “join me in preparing a legal challenge to the constitutionality of whatever individual mandate provision emerges, immediately upon the legislation becoming law.”  The letter was sent March 16, 2010 and includes an analysis of what McCollum perceives as unconstitutional provisions of the bill being contemplated by Congress.
Among his many objections to the bill, McCollum cites:  “…the individual mandate, whether levied as a tax or as a tax penalty, is a capitation or direct tax that is not apportioned evenly among the states as is constitutionally required.”  The closing paragraph of the six-page document states, “While affected citizens of every state may pursue judicial relief from the individual mandate provisions, states have standing to sue the federal government to protect their sovereign and quasi-sovereign interests.”
According to his website, McCollum has also called for a group of state agencies to analyze the financial impact of any federal health care legislation on his state.  Participating would be the Office of Insurance Regulation, the Department of Children and Families, and the Department of Health, among others.
McCollum is a candidate for governor of Florida.  He has stated that the Florida Constitution has a provision which guarantees “the right to be let alone and free from governmental intrusion into [their] private life.”
On Thursday, March 18, South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster announced that he would join McCollum in legal action if federal health care legislation is passed.  McMaster reportedly said, “”It is my belief and that of other attorneys general that this is clearly unconstitutional. That’s why we’re moving forward. We need to protect the sovereignty of our states and the liberty of our people.””

Glenn Beck, on his radio show and Fox tv show, while talking about upholding the US Constitution out of one side of his mouth, has insulted concerned Americans, current and retired military personnel and the US Constitution out of the other side of his mouth. Beck has insulted the very people who gave him the high ratings. That is not smart.

Glenn Beck has insulted millions of average Americans exercising their First Amendment rights to question the eligibility of Barack Obama. Even Lou Dobbs while at CNN asked why Obama doesn’t present a legitimate birth certificate.

“Hell hath no fury.” Glenn Beck, you have not only infuriated people like me, you have insulted and infuriated military personnel and high ranking military officers. Charles Kerchner, Commander USNR (Retired), is one of those officers. Charles Kerchner and I have been in regular contact for the better part of a year. He and I have decided to send a clear signal to Glenn Beck that his statements are inaccurate, unprofessional, un American and unacceptable. Therefore, we have decided to initiate a boycott Glenn Beck day. I do so not rejoicing and hoping that Glenn Beck will apologize, open his eyes and pay attention.

February 12, 2010 has been chosen for the boycott of Beck’s radio and Fox TV show. This is Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, the one man alone who probably kept this country from dissolving and one of my true heros.

We are asking you to boycott Glenn Beck’s shows on this day, unless he apologizes and changes his attitude. I sincerely hope that he does. We are also asking that you spread this message far and wide.

Operation: Natural Born Citizen?
  1. On Jan 27th, Beck claimed that Obama was a U.S. Citizen rather than calling him a Natural born citizen on his famous blackboard.
  2. Beck thinks he is slick, playing this word game, so we will play it back with him
  3. I guess his crack head staff does not know the difference between a ‘natural born citizen’ and a U.S. Citizen?

  1. Inform Beck that the pending lawsuits are over Obama aka Barry Soetoro, NOT being a ‘natural born citizen’. 
  2. Tell them that you are sick of Glenn crying on the Constitution, as he protects Obama’s biggest violation against it..his ineligibility
  3. YOU want Glenn and others in the media to testify UNDER OATH about everything they know and was told about by 3rd parties in regards to Obama’s ineligibility issue and keeping it out of the public spotlight.  
  4. Let him know that Obama, Soros and the left wing sites on the Internet appreciate his alleged assistance in the eligibility issue cover up.
  5. Let him know that you will NEVER watch his show again…
