Omaha World Herald Obama birth certificate article wrong, Staff Sgt. Daryn Moran questioned Obama’s eligibility, Natural born citizen status

“Why has Obama, since taking the White House, used Justice Department Attorneys, at taxpayer expense,  to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells and millions of concerned Americans

I have been to Omaha, Nebraska. It is a nice city. I like the Nebraska folks. Most of them are honest, hard working citizens. It will be interesting to see if the Omaha World Herald staff shares those values with the citizenry.

From the Omaha World Herald August 18, 2011.

“‘Birther’ sergeant discharged”

“Staff Sgt. Daryn Moran, a so-called “birther” who denies President Barack Obama’s U.S. citizenship, is being discharged from the Air Force, the military confirmed Wednesday.

Moran, of Omaha, says he quit reporting for duty at an Air Force base in Germany last week to protest the commander in chief, whom he disparages as a criminal who should be arrested.

But the Air Force, in its first statement on the case, said Moran was in fact already in the process of being discharged when he stopped reporting for work.

“He is currently outprocessing for discharge from the Air Force, which was previously approved by his commander on August 4th,” says a statement released by U.S. Air Forces in Europe.

Air Force officials didn’t give a reason for the discharge and didn’t comment on Moran’s behavior.

Moran, in an e-mail, confirmed he was being discharged but said he couldn’t provide details until a later date.

Moran has spent much of the past week vilifying Obama in interviews, in online forums and on his Twitter feed, behavior that appears to violate the military’s code of conduct.

He also repeatedly argued that Barack Obama isn’t a citizen of the United States — a disproved conspiracy theory that lost some steam when the president publicly released his long-form birth certificate earlier this year.

During his tour of the “birther” blogosphere, the Air Force staff sergeant called Obama “the enemy” and “a criminal” and made vague references to his desire to “remove” the president. He also derided the military as unprepared and shoddy.”

There are a number of inaccuracies in the article:

1. “Staff Sgt. Daryn Moran, a so-called “birther” who denies President Barack Obama’s U.S. citizenship”
Staff Sgt. Daryn Moran questions Obama’s Natural Born Citizen status. This is a requirement of the US Constitution.

2. “a disproved conspiracy theory”
It is assumed that the author is referring to Obama’s Natural Born Citizen status. Thus far we have no proof.

3. “the president publicly released his long-form birth certificate earlier this year.”
Obama has not presented a legitimate birth certificate. The image placed on WhiteHouse.gov has been proven to be fraudulent.

Nebraska Save the American Dream rally, Grassroots in Nebraska counter rally, Countering Moveon.org Labor Union

Nebraska Save the American Dream rally, Grassroots in Nebraska counter rally, Countering Moveon.org Labor Union

From Grassroots in Nebraska February 25, 2011.

NEBRASKA HAS COLLECTIVE BARGAINING LEGISLATION SITTING IN COMMITTEE!

WHAT: Counter-Rally

We’re countering the Moveon.org “Save the American Dream” Labor Union
Rally (see below)

WHEN: NOON

FOR: Support Nebraska Legislation to Reform Collective Bargaining Laws

WHERE: We’ll gather at the Centennial Mall across from the State
Capitol, Lincoln, Nebraska

for maps of the Capitol area, parking garages downtown, and driving
directions

PLEASE RSVP by clicking HERE <http://grassrootsne.com/?page_id=1480>
and help out by FORWARDING TO FRIENDS!!

**PLEASE DRESS WARMLY! FORECAST = 27degrees**

We’re working on some sign ideas – if you have any, please forward to
sdawdy@grassrootsne.com or post on the GiN site.

Thanks to 9/12 Omaha <http://www.meetup.com/the912project/>
, who began this effort, we know that Moveon.org put out a call for
supporters of labor unions to hold rallies at every state capitol this
Saturday, February 26 and there is one scheduled this Saturday at the
Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln at noon.

While we cannot find any notice of the event on any of the websites of
local unions or supporting groups, the moveon.org Lincoln event
<http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/index.html?action_id=238&id=&search_distance=200&search_zip=68507&submit=Search>
page showed 75 RSVPs as of 10pm Thursday night and a Facebook page
for the event <http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=205229342825998>
showed as many as 50. These events seem to have sprung up quickly and
RSVP rates online are typically lower than turnout (how much varies).

If you believe that government spending must be reined in, that
government employee compensation, health care benefits, and pensions
should be no more generous than that received by employees in the
private sector, then come down and show your support for collective
bargaining reform.

If you are skeptical that this issue is having any negative effect on
Nebraska, PLEASE read below.

OUR PLAN: We will gather on the Centennial Mall because we are NOT
attempting to get involved directly in the labor union rally. I
explicitly urge you NOT to do so as it will only lead to trouble. Our
purpose is to gather together in whatever number chooses to show
support for reforming collective bargaining. (If you are skeptical
about participating, see this article
<http://www.uncoverage.net/2011/02/maryland-tea-party-faces-off-at-union-goon-rally/>
 or this Facebook posting
<http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?fbid=1804584005323&id=1561563753&aid=2101528>
.)

We are unlikely to stay outdoors for the entire length of the labor
union rally; we will likely keep our program brief and those who are
interested in hearing more detailed information about the legislation
on this issue and its status will be invited to join us indoors
downtown at a location we will announce at our gathering on the Mall.

NEBRASKA HAS MANY OF THE SAME PROBLEMS AS WISCONSIN AND OTHER STATES

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like SERIOUS action is going to take
place in Nebraska on this issue – READ TODAY’S ARTICLE ON THE GiN SITE
IF YOU NEED SOME EVIDENCE <http://grassrootsne.com/?p=7741>
. (publishin at 8am)

The information below can be supported and examined in greater depth
by reading some of our articles on the subject, which are listed
further down.

Nebraska has a nearly $1 billion budget shortfall – by population,
it’s proportional the $3.5 billion shortfall in Wisconsin.
Nebraska’s Retirement System – the government employee pension fund –
has been bailed out several times in the past two years because many
government workers’ pensions are not tied to market value, they are
guaranteed benefits regardless of the market, unlike the 401k plans
for workers in the private sector.
In order to “balance” our State budget, we have taken in a great deal
of Federal stimulus funds, most of which was used to bailout the
pension funds, as noted above, with the rest going to education (sold
by Congress as “saving teachers’ jobs), and Medicaid.

One of the reasons Nebraska’s unemployment rate is so low is because
too many people work for government in our State:

17% of Nebraska’s workforce is employed by State or local government
In Lincoln, 24% of the workforce works for State or local government.
In Omaha, 15% of the workforce works for State or local government.

AFFECTING TAXPAYERS: Nebraskans are overtaxed…our top marginal
income tax rate is as high as states that lost population in the past
ten years; several studies in the past decade have shown that our
taxation structure is suppressing business activity. Nebraska’s two
largest cities, Lincoln and Omaha, have increased taxes in the past
year because their budgets are in trouble. In Omaha, two tax increases
were imposed to cover increased costs of a labor union contract.
Lincoln’s telecomm tax was raised in 2010 to increase revenues, making
it the highest in the United States; 24% of cell phone, landline, and
other telecomm bills is taxation.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR A JUNE 19TH EVENT – AN EVENING WITH GARY JOHNSON
Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson is coming to Lincoln on June 19th for an event that includes a reception and talk. Those who are interested in elected officials who limit the size of government, protect freedom, and seek to maximize the potential for free enterprise should mark this event on their calendars.
The event has been organized by the Nebraska Republican Liberty Caucus, for which NE Campaign for Liberty State Director Laura Ebke, serves as Chair. RLC-NE’s mission is to serve as the conscience of the Republican party. As you are likely aware, Grassroots in Nebraska has been working on a number of efforts recently with Laura and the NE Campaign for Liberty group, such as advocating for the passage of the Sovereignty Resolution. When Laura asked if GiN would be a co-host for the Governor Johnson event, it was an easy answer.
Governor Johnson at the very least promises to be have a different perspective from much of what’s being heard from politicians today. While serving as New Mexico’s Governor, Gary Johnson vetoed more legislation than all of the other governors in the U.S. during the same period and reduced spending to the extent that New Mexico’s debt was eliminated. He is proof that limited governance doesn’t mean political “suicide”; he was re-elected and served to the length of NM’s term limits.
Of course, I encourage everyone to forward the information about the event to those who they believe may have an interest. All those who attend may find themselves having been in the position of meeting and assessing a potential 2012 candidate; there are indicators that Governor Johnson may be considering a run for President in the next election.
Finally, in addition to what already promises to be an enjoyable and interesting evening, District 26 Legislative Candidate Tom Dierks (who is running against Senator Amanda McGill) is planning on attending Governor Johnson’s speech and hopefully will have a little time to visit with folks afterwards.
Basic information: (see below for links with additional information and registration form)
Saturday, June 19
5:30 – 7:00pm Reception: Meet Gary Johnson and mingle with like-minded conservatives while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and cash bar
7:00 – 8:00pm Presentation and talk by former Governor Johnson
Holiday Inn Southwest, Lincoln

PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS AND NEXT STEPS
Official results from Nebraska’s Primary Election on May 11 can be read in full on the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website. Click HERE.
GiN’s primary stated mission is to promote limited government as originally intended by the Founders – from the bottom-up. That means our emphasis is within Nebraska and focused on its governmental entities. Those of us who actively engaged in the legislative process this past session recognized in order to effectively advocate for limited government and the protection of individual liberty, we need representatives at the Unicameral who share those priorities.
Of course we are interested in who is sent to represent Nebraska in Washington, D.C., but we have ample evidence that 1) The majority of Congress is currently impervious to all evidence of opposition and 2) the climate in Nebraska favors incumbents, particularly those holding federal offices.
If you are interested in an effort to elect Constitutional, limited government candidates to the Nebraska Unicameral, those of us who spent time walking for District 28 Candidate Nancy Russell intend to build upon her solid showing in the primary, and at the request of several GiN members, are considering expanding our efforts to at least two prospective candidates if we can get commitments from a solid core of volunteers. If you are interested in joining in these efforts, please let us know.
IMMIGRATION
A serious “shout-out” must be given to Susan Smith, leader of the Nebraskans Advisory Group (click HERE for the website). Susan has been working very hard on this issue for a very long time. In the coming week, I hope to do an in-depth interview with her regarding several items of importance, particularly regarding an upcoming vote in Fremont pertaining to an illegal immigrant ordinance. I  will send out a message with a link to a post on the GiN website when completed. In the meantime, some information you might find interesting:
The Fremont vote is June 21. A serious effort is underway to register voters by June 11 for the special election on the ordinance noted above.
Susan is urging calls to the Nebraska Congressional delegation; Reps. Terry, Fortenberry, and Smith, urging them to demand National Guard troops be sent to the border and vote no on any amnesty proposal. Click HERE for their contact information.
GiN Online
You will be seeing changes in the next few weeks on the both the main website (http://grassrootsne.com) and the member NING site. The main GiN site could use an improved look, clearer navigation, and more visible links to resources.
Also, NING networks has announced they will begin charging a monthly fee for their services so we will be moving membership to a new location, which will be similar, but hopefully an improvement over the NING site and more integrated into the main website. I will keep folks informed regularly regarding the move.
Thank you,

Grassroots in Nebraska update, February 10 2010, Meeting February 11, Sovereignty Resolution, Open thread, Larry Sinclair, Government control of health care, Rezko, Blagojevich, John Brennan, MN senate race, Al Franken

Lest we forget.

There is much going on, we are on the road to saving this country from collapse and we must continue to fight to save it. There are many unfinished stories to write and to stay on top of. Here are just a few of them.

John Brennan’s controversial handing of terrorists, his controvesial past and his very suspicious ties to Obama.

The Rod Blagojevich trial, Tony Rezko sentencing and what potentially will be revealed about Obama.

The suspicious MN senate race and seat that Al Franken obtained.

The continuing struggle of Larry Sinclair to keep his story alive and the efforts to silence him.

Aside from the Tony Rezko trial and subsequent indictments of Obama associates such as Rod Blagojevich, Larry Sinclair and his story may have been the single biggest catalyst for many to begin questioning Obama early in 2008. He has not backed down. As many of you know, from the moment that Sinclair came out with his Youtube video in January 2008, he has constantly been attacked and no expense has been spared to shut him down. This is part of a much larger story of the MSM being complicit in hiding Obama’s past. We were not going to let that happen then and now.

I want to thank everybody for their efforts last night to help Larry Sinclair. We are all connected as Americans and as voyagers on this planet. We need each other and I believe one of the lessons of this life is awareness of the plight of others. Mother Teresa certainly exemplified that. Our efforts to save this country also bear this out as well as our efforts to look out for each other. Thanks to all who responded to my plea last night. It is not just about money. Caring, praying for and just doing what you can are what it is all about.

There is a new story that has developed out of the Larry Sinclair struggle. This story reveals what can happen when the government has control of our lives, in this case, Social Security. I have first hand knowledge of this. Just as I was writing this article, I received an email.

“Citizen Wells,  What do you think about a mass petition to US Senators
from Florida with everything that has happened to Larry and demand that his Social Security be reinstated.  I have had a battle royal with them myself, they have stopped and started mine three different due to letters being sent to them from my enemies.  If we could get a petition together including the facts from the beginning and have it hand delivered, I really believe it might make a difference.  They all know this SOB is illegal but want to push it from someone else’s proof.  this might work, especially through the Republican side.  Who Knows???  After all, with Larry’s illness, Obama with his dirty tricks is denying him medical care that will save his life.  Just A thought.  I can’t donate, but I can help push a petition and information of whats going on.”

Anyone out there think that we need to give the US Government control over our health care?

Our friends in Nebraska have been doing their best to fight the bribery of Ben Nelson and prevent the federal government from becoming too powerful. From Grassroots in Nebraska.

SOVEREIGNTY
Senator Tony Fulton’s Sovereignty Resolution has been scheduled for a hearing before the Government, Military, and Veterans Affairs Committee, Friday, February 19 at 1:30pm.
It is currently the first item scheduded to be heard.
**WE NEED AS MANY BODIES AS WE CAN GET AT THAT HEARING –
THINK OF IT AS THE BIGGEST TEA PARTY WE’VE EVER PUT ON**

Linda Rohman and I had a meeting with Senator Fulton on February 1, prior to the hearing being scheduled, to offer what ever support we could in helping the bill to pass. We had a follow-up meeting yesterday to give a progress report on our plans.

Linda has had prior successful experience in coordinating legislative advocacy with the Nebraska Home Educators’ Association. A very restrictive homeschooling bill had been proposed which went no further because NCHEA coordinated testimony and rallied up HUGE attendance at the Education Committee hearing. 1200 homeschoolers descended on the Capitol that day.
*We need THAT kind of support for the Sovereignty Resolution*
Come to the meeting Thursday evening to hear about the effort underway to ensure the passage of the bill.
I will be putting out further details on Friday.

One aspect of these plans is now likely to involve testimony by Oklahoma State Representative Charles Key. Representative Key was the author of the Oklahoma Sovereignty Resolution, which was successfully passed over the OK Governor’s veto in 2009. He is considered a leader in the Sovereignty movement; his bill has been used as a “template” by other states. He has testified before other state’s legislatures, including most recently, Kansas in January.
We will have received additional information about Rep. Key’s ability to come to Lincoln by the Thursday.

In addition to the effort to get people to the hearing, we are planning associated events and we will need many volunteers.
We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. If you are not able to attend but would like to help with the effort, please let us know!
Thank you,
Shelli

Senator Ben Nelson Nebraska, STOP the Health Care Bill before Christmas rally, December 22, 2009, Senator Ben Nelson’s Office, Stubborn_Facts, Harry Reid unconstitutional bribes

Event Description:
NOTE ADDED 12/20 @7:00AM RALLY IS STILL ON!

For much more detail, visit THIS POST on the Grassroots in Nebraska website.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is pushing for a vote on health care before Christmas.

**So YES, it is rather NUTS to try to do a rally on 12/22 in <32 degree weather…in the evening.**

BUT…if there is ANY chance we can impact this bill, it really comes down to US in Nebraska –

Senator Ben Nelson, by all accounts is the KEY vote on this bill and has voiced his unwillingness to vote for it in its present form, including federal funding for abortion.

Sen. David Vitter (LA) an executive member of the Senate Republican Steering Committee, advised on a 12/17 conference call with grassroots organizers from several states that some large, visible rally in Nebraska with media attention may well have some impact on Senator Nelson. He is already under a lot of pressure.

He also said if we could get national media attention that would be very helpful.

The other organizers on the call offered their support by way of encouraging whoever could possibly come from their states, spreading the word, gathering national media contact information they have, and by donating money for us to run an ad campaign about the rally (see below).

Chris Comeaux from Tea Party of Louisiana has made plans to travel to Lincoln to help on Monday and Tuesday. I have heard from a couple of other organizers that they are trying to work things out so they can come also.

PLEASE – DRESS WARMLY!!

We already have….
Lights
Sound system
Gary!

So we need YOU and for you to drag as many people along as you can – and could use HELP, especially in getting the word out, and participating in flyer distribution we are arranging.

IF you want to help, leave a comment below.

If you need sign ideas, see this POST.

Bombard Ben Nelson

Let’s keep the pressure on Senator Nelson through Wednesday!

Besides the rally scheduled for Tuesday (see below), we need people to call, fax, email and make personal visits to his offices. Apparently, there has been a very orchestrated effort by groups who are in favor of the bill to bombard him.

YES you will have difficulty getting through but please keep trying.
If there is anytime when we are going to exert effort in the way it is NOW.
