You were warned.

Beginning in 2008, and especially with the revelations from the Tony Rezko trial, you were warned that Obama would bring his Chicago Pay to Play Politics to Washington, DC.

It has happened. In one of the worst possible places.

The US Justice Department.

One of the latest and best examples is the promotion of Tony West in the USDOJ.

First, a little background on Tony West.

He was a successful lawyer, working as a partner at the San Francisco firm of Morrison & Foerster, and he had lost two difficult campaigns in the previous four years.

But West didn’t have to be elected to become President Barack Obama’s assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s Civil Division – just confirmed by the Senate. He now heads the DOJ office charged with defending the federal government in litigation. West has made a career out of handling complex legal issues in criminal and civil trials as well as during negotiations.

West, who is a part of a power family in California, has known Obama since 2004, and he was a top fundraiser for Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign. He was finance co-chair of Obama’s California campaign, where the then-senator raised a record total of $65 million.

Now, West is the lead attorney on the federal lawsuit against Arizona’s immigration law, which allows law enforcement officials to question anyone they reasonably suspect of being illegal immigrants.”

Consider the following timeline.

  • Beginning in January 2009, when Obama took control of the White House and Justice Department, he began using USDOJ attorneys, at taxpayer expense, to prevent his birth, college and other records from being released. Prior to then Obama used Robert Bauer of Perkins Coie to keep his records hidden. Tony West is one of those USDOJ attorneys. See list below.
  • On January 21, 2009 retired Naval Commander Charles Kerchner, represented by attorney Mario Appuzo, filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama challenging his eligibility for the presidency. “Obama has sealed most of his important documents that would shed light on his true identity and the main stream media has not challenged him as to why he did so.”
  • The case was subsequently appealed. A response was given by USDOJ attorneys on March 8, 2010. Tony West was listed at the top of the list. “Plaintiffs’
    alleged grievances regarding President Obama’s constitutional
    qualifications reflect a generalized interest in the proper
    administration of the law “shared by all the American people,”
    App. 10, not a concrete injury particular to plaintiffs. The
    Supreme Court has repeatedly held that Article III standing may
    not be predicated on such injury. Plaintiffs’ attempts to
    aggrandize their harms, based on oaths they have taken to support
    to the Constitution, their heightened interest in constitutional
    principles, or the possibility of future military service, fail.”
  • Tony West appeared before the House Judiciary committee on June 24, 2010. “One of this Subcommittee’s duties and obligations is to oversee the activities of the various components of the Department of Justice over which the Subcommittee has jurisdiction.” “I thank Assistant Attorney General Tony West of California and points west, the head of the Civil Division, for appearing before us today and to report on the division’s recent activities.” As you can already see, this is like questioning the fox on recent activity in the hen house.
  • Mr. West made a number of statements that you will find interesting:”Since assuming this position in April 2009, I have focused on three main priorities for the Civil Division: Protecting the American people, protecting taxpayer dollars, and protecting the Nation’s consumers.””The Civil Division is vigorously defending the Affordable Care Act health care reform statute against multiple lawsuits brought on constitutional and other grounds.””The President has pledged to make this Administration the most open and transparent in history, and the department is doing its part to make that pledge a reality.”  Read more below.
  • On September 20, 2012 Obama nominated Tony West to be the full time number 3 position in the USDOJ.

Anybody see a problem here? A conflict of interest!

Chicago Pay to Play Politics.

Obama’s use of Tony West, a friend and fundraiser, to assist him, in cooperation with other USDOJ attorneys, in eligibility lawsuits and in keeping his records hidden, is a clear conflict of interest. This was further exacerbated by West representing the USDOJ before the House Judiciary Committee on June 24, 2010. Obama’s nomination of Tony West to a full time position as the number 3 position in the USDOJ is a clear case of Obama’s continued Chicago pay to play politics of reward your crony, put them in a power position and use them to protect and further your agenda.

Our checks and balances have been destroyed by the Obama camp. We no longer have a viable US Justice Department. Congress and the Judiciary Committee have failed to do their job and we have the most corrupt person ever to occupy the White House.

We cannot immediately remove members of congress or the Judiciary Committee, but we can contact them, voice our disgust and let them know that history will not view them kindly. The members of the Judiciary Committee can be found in the document below.

“How exactly did Barack Obama pay for his Harvard Law School education?

The way the Obama campaign has answered the question was simply hard work and student loans.

But new questions have been raised about Obama’s student loans and Obama’s ties to a radical Muslim activist who reportedly was raising money for Obama’s Harvard studies during the years 1988 to 1991.

The allegations first surfaced in late March, when former Manhattan Borough president Percy Sutton told a New York cable channel that a former business partner who was “raising money” for Obama had approached him in 1988 to help Obama get into Harvard Law School.

In the interview, Sutton says he first heard of Obama about twenty years ago from Khalid Al-Mansour, a Black Muslim and Black Nationalist who was a “mentor” to the founders of the Black Panther party at the time the party was founded in the early 1960s.

Sutton described al-Mansour as advisor to “one of the world’s richest men,” Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Prince Alwaleed catapulted to fame in the United States after the September 11 attacks, when New York mayor Rudy Guiliani refused his $10 million check to help rebuild Manhattan, because the Saudi prince hinted publicly that America’s pro-Israel policies were to blame for the attacks.

Sutton knew Al-Mansour well, since the two men had been business partners and served on several corporate boards together.

As Sutton remembered, Al-Mansour was raising money for Obama’s education and seeking recommendations for him to attend Harvard Law School.

“I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him,” Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter. “The friend’s name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas.”

Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt told Newsmax that Sutton’s account was “bogus” and a “fabrication that has been retracted” by a spokesman for the Sutton family.

He referred Newsmax to a pro-Obama blog published on Politico.com by reporter Ben Smith.

In a September 3 blog entry, Smith wrote that “a spokesman for Sutton’s family, Kevin Wardally” said that Sutton had been mistaken when he made those comments about Obama and Khalid Al-Mansour.

Smith suggested the retraction “put the [Obama/Al-Mansour] story to rest for good.”

Wardally told Smith that the “information Mr. Percy Sutton imported [sic] on March 25 in a NY1 News interview regarding his connection to Barack Obama is inaccurate. As best as our family and the Chairman’s closest friends can tell, Mr. Sutton, now 86 years of age, misspoke in describing certain details and events in that television interview.”

Asked which parts of Percy Sutton’s statements were a “fabrication,” LaBolt said “all of it. Al Mansour doesn’t know Obama. And Sutton’s spokesman retracted the story. The letter [to Harvard, which Percy Sutton says he wrote on behalf of Obama], the ‘payments for loans’ — all of it, not true,” he added.

Newsmax contacted the Sutton family and they categorically denied Wardally’s claims to Smith and the Politico.com. So there was no retraction of Sutton’s original interview, during which he revealed that Khalid Al-Mansour was “raising money” for Obama and had asked Sutton to write a letter of recommendation for Obama to help him get accepted at Harvard Law School.

Sutton’s personal assistant told Newsmax that neither Mr. Sutton or his family had ever heard of Kevin Wardally.

”Who is this person?” asked Sutton’s assistant, Karen Malone.

When told that he portrayed himself as a “spokesman” for the family, Malone told Newsmax, “Well, he’s not.”

According to a 2006 New York magazine profile, Wardally is part of a “New New Guard” in Harlem politics that has been challenging the “lions” of the old guard, Charles Rangel and Percy Sutton. That makes him an unlikely candidate to speak on behalf of Sutton.

Sutton maintains an office at the Manhattan headquarters of the firm he founded, Inner City Broadcasting Corporation. ICBC owns New York radio stations WBLS and WLIB.

Sutton’s son Pierre (“Pepe”) runs ICBC along with his daughter, Keisha Sutton-James. Malone told Newsmax that she had consulted with Sutton’s family members at the station and confirmed that no one knew Kevin Wardally or had authorized him to speak on behalf of the family.

For someone claiming to be a “spokesman” for the Sutton family, who was authorized to call Percy Sutton a liar, Wardally even got Percy Sutton’s age wrong.

Sutton is not 86, as Wardally said, but close to 88. He was born on Nov. 24, 1920.

Wardally responded to a several Newsmax phone messages and emails with a terse one-line comment, maintaining his statement that Percy Sutton “misspoke” in the television interview.

“I believe the statement speaks for itself and the Sutton Family and I have nothing further to say on the topic,” he wrote in an email.

Asked to explain why it was that no one at Inner City Broadcasting Corp. knew of him or accepted him as a family spokesman, Wardally responded later that he had been retained by a nephew of the elder Sutton, who “is in our office almost every week.”

Wardally works for Bill Lynch Associations, a Harlem political consulting firm. The nephew, Chuck Sutton, no longer works with the elder Sutton at Inner City Broadcasting, but for a high-tech start-up called Synematics.

“Percy Sutton doesn’t go out idly on television saying things he doesn’t mean,” a well-connected black entrepreneur who knows Sutton told Newsmax.

Ben LaBolt’s claim that “Al Mansour doesn’t know Obama” was contradicted by Al Mansour himself in an extended interview with Newsmax.

Comparing the revelation of his ties to Obama to the controversy surrounding Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Al Mansour said that he was determined to keep a low profile to avoid embarrassing Obama.

“In respect to Mr. Obama, I have told him, because so many people are running after him… I was determined that I was never going to be in that situation,” he told Newsmax.

Al Mansour said he was deliberately avoiding any contact with the candidate. “I’m not involved in any way in celebrity sweepstakes,” he said. “I wish him well, anything I can do if he lets me know, I’ll let him know what I think I can do or can’t. But I don’t collect autographs. I wish him the best, and hope he can win the election.”

He repeatedly declined to comment on the Percy Sutton allegations, either to confirm or to deny them.

“Any statement that I make would only further the activity which is not in the interest of Barack, not in the interest of Percy, not in the interest of anyone,” Al Mansour said.

Unanswered Questions

Sen. Obama has refused to instruct Harvard Law School to release any information about his time there as a student, or about his student loans.

Newsmax contacted the Dean of Students, the Director of Student Financial Services, the Registrar, and the Bursar of Harvard Law School. None would provide any specific information on Barack Obama’s time at Harvard, except for his dates of attendance (1988-1991) or his year of graduation, 1991.

A spokesman for the law school, Michael Armini, said it was Harvard policy not to divulge information on alumni without their approval.

“There are lots of reporters nosing around the library,” he acknowledged. So far, none had turned up any new information.

Law professors Lawrence Tribe and Charles Ogletree have both said publicly that they were “impressed” by Obama when he was a student.

Sources close to the Sutton family told Newsmax that Percy Sutton wrote a letter of recommendation for Obama to Ogletree at Khalid Al-Mansour’s request, but Ogletree declined to answer Newsmax questions about this.”

the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

“The first indications of Arab help to American blacks may be announced in
December.” said Khalid Abdullah Tariq Al-Mansour, formerly known as Donald
Warden, of the Holmes and Warden law firm.

Al-Mansour is the lawyer who filed a friend-of-the-court brief in support
of OPEC last winter when the International Association of Machinists and
Aerospace Workers (IAM) filed an antitrust suit against the 13 OPEC
countries in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

The OPEC countries did not answer the price-fixing charges on the grounds
that a U.S. court did not have jurisdiction over a foreign country.
However, Al-Mansour argued for OPEC as chairman of the Concerned Black
Americans in Suppport of Africa and the Middle East. The suit was dismissed
on Aug. 22.

Al-Mansour, 39, for several years has urged the rich Arab kingdoms to
cultivate stronger ties to America’s blacks by supporting black businesses
and black colleges and giving financial help to disadvantaged students.

In September, Al-Mansour said, he presented a proposed special aid program
to OPEC Secretary-General Rene Ortiz when he visited OPEC headquarters in
Vienna. Al-Mansour urged the establishment of a fund that would provide
$20-million per year for 10 years to aid 10,000 minority students each
year, including blacks, Arabs, Hispanics, Asians, and native Americans.”

I also spoke with a representative of the information center for the League
of Arab Nations in Chicago concerning rumors of “heavy Arab contributions
and investments” in black communities in the wake of Andrew Young’s
resignation as United Nations ambassador this summer.

“It is quite possible,” an Arab spokesman said. “However, I don’t think any
money will be given to individuals.” But he said he had also heard that
Moammar Khadafy, the leader of Libya, is planning to support black
organizations “or institutions.” The spokesman did not name any individuals
or institutions.

The question of financial aid from the Arabs could raise a few extremely
interesting questions both inside and outside the black community. If such
contributions are large and sustained, the money angle may become secondary
to the sociology and politics of such an occurrence.

What will be the response in white America to the recognition that American
blacks have influential supporters in foreign lands?

Several of my media colleagues argue that such massive support will not
come from the Arabs. But suppose it does? How many black colleges could
afford to announce they are rejecting several million dollars annually in
aid not only to their students but to the tottering colleges themselves?

And what will happen if those college boards that do accept Arab aid are
threatened with a loss of domestic support?

Of course, there is another question that focuses on how the black citizen
is viewed by the American majority. Can the average American live with the
thought of blacks being anything other than helpless — a people without
any other resources than domestic “tolerance” and charity and their own
bootstraps?

I’m not about to hazzard a guess as to what the Arabs are going to do now
that they have discovered that blacks do have an interest in the Middle
East. But I strongly suspect their advisors have made it clear that they
must do something to support those rumors.

The new black advocacy of a homeland for the Palestinians and recognition
of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), has put the Arabs as well
as certain black leaders on the spot. Suppose those black leaders who
openly embraced Yasser Arafat suffer extreme shortages in financial
contributions because of their pro-Arab stands. And suppose the Arabs do
not come to their rescue.

Such a failure could cause American blacks to adopt a slogan made famous by
the Jews: “Never Again.”

“Study: Only 15 Percent Of Democrats Believe Economic News Is Bad”

“With just 47 days before the general election and Mitt Romney attempting to pivot the focus of the election back on the state of the economy, citizens with Democratic leanings are actually doing an about-face on the economy compared to their Republican counterparts, according to a recent study from the Pew Research Center.

New data found that just 15 percent of Democrats believe that recent economic news is mostly poor, a percentage that took a significant drop from the 31 percent of Democrats polled last month who did think that economic news was mostly bad. According to the study, the 15-percent clip is among the lowest percentages during President Barack Obama’s nearly four years in office.

But with those citizens with Republican leanings and no political leanings at all, the outlook remains the same. Sixty percent of Republicans find that most of the economic news is bad. Among independents, the percentage is 36 percent. Both of these data sets remain virtually unchanged from a month ago, according to the study.

The study, released on Sept. 11, could show Obama making gains on the economy, which has been what Romney ultimately has wanted to make the election about to this point, crystallized even further in his acceptance of the nomination at the Republican National Convention. Despite Romney’s efforts to turn the attention back to the economy following the backlash from the “47 percent” video, the data found that some Americans were actually beginning to feel better about the outlook of the economy. The percentage of people who feel that most of what they hear about the economy is bad dropped six percentage points in a month, from 41 percent to 35 percent, according to the study.”

The Greensboro News and Record has done a pretty good job lately of reporting the news about the local and state job situation. However, on Friday September 21, 2012, they printed an article that caused a double take and review.

The headline in the Business Section reads:

“Greensboro’s job picture brightens”

To the left the headline reads:

“Bank of America planning to cut 16,000 positions”

Below the article reads:

“American Airlines says it plans to lay off up to 72 people at Raleigh-Durham International Airport and more than 1,400 in Florida”

From the Greensboro News and Record September 21, 2012.
“More than 10 percent of people who want jobs in Greensboro still can’t find them.

But Greensboro’s defying the odds in another job statistic: The total number of people working in the city is now higher than it was before the recession began in 2008.

That puts the city in a category of one when compared with other cities in the region, the state and the nation, according to a new report from the Greensboro Partnership, Greensboro’s leading economic development agency.

Growth in total employment suggests that the city will ultimately have more jobs available for all the people looking for work.

Between January, 2008 and July, 2012, Greensboro’s workforce grew by 2.6 percent, meaning that 3,270 more people were working.”

The article begins honestly with:

“More than 10 percent of people who want jobs in Greensboro still can’t find them.”

The article then tries to spin some job growth, which does not keep up with population growth, as good news. That is like falling down a well while grasping a rope and breaking both legs instead of dying.

The print edition contains the following statement:

“The unemployment rate remains high because the population has outgrown the number of available jobs, but as the number of people with jobs rises, that brings hope that unemployment will drop.”

Huh???

Here are the facts from Citizen Wells.

The latest stated unemployment rate in NC: 9.7 %.

The latest stated unemployment rate for Greensboro, High Point: 10.2 %.

The NC Labor Force Participation Rate is 62 % and is lower than the record setting national rate of 63.5.

And once again:

“The Obama campaign is now selling copies of an American flag painting that replaces the 50 stars in a blue field with the president’s campaign logo. Critics are calling the artwork creepy and unAmerican.

“Our Stripes: Flag Print” is being promoted on the Obama campaign website. The screen print is designed by Ross Bruggink and Dan Olson.
The Obama campaign tweeted an explanation of the poster early this morning: “A poster to say there are no red states or blue states, only the United States.”
The limited-edition print costs $35.

President Obama’s version of the American flag.

Another painting resembled an outline of the continental US. The “Our Stripes: Country Print” was designed to look like an American flag, too. Like the other painting, the stars representing the 50 states were removed and replaced with Obama’s campaign logo.

Reaction on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook has been overwhelmingly negative.

“This is so offensive,” one reader wrote. “I don’t know why I’m shocked, but I am. This stoops to new lows.”

Another reader offered this assessment: “Once again, very shameful. This is a disgrace.

“And just what was wrong with the flag with the stars and stripes?” a Facebook reader wondered. “Why must Obama create his own flag?”

The United States of Obama?

“Obama flag removed from FL Democratic HQ after veterans protest”

“After flying for several months, the chair of the Lake County, FL, Democratic Party, removed a flag that showed an image of President Obama in the blue field that normally displays the stars representing all 50 states.

The flag was removed after veterans protested the flag Tuesday, calling it a “desecration.”

“It’s a cult of personality to show his face, like Stalin or Mao,” John Masterjohn, a former Marine from Leesburg, told the Orlando Sentinel.

“It’s despicable. They don’t realize how sick they are.”

The protest began after 71-year-old Bay of Pigs veteran Jim Bradford, took pictures of the flag and distributed them to friends and fellow veterans.

Don Van Beck, executive director of the Veterans Memorial at Fountain Park in Leesburg, told WFTV that seeing the flag made his blood boil.

“I can‘t describe how upset was because you just don’t do that to the American flag,” he said.

The veterans, saying the flag violated U.S. code that prohibits “marks, insignia, letters, words, figures, designs, picture or drawings of any nature,” demanded it be removed.

Bradford and other veterans approached the Democratic Headquarters with a copy of the flag code, intending to remove the flag.

Van Beck offered a POW/MIA flag to fly in its place, the Sentinel reported, but Party chairwoman Nancy Hulbert threatened to call the police.

“This is private property,” she told the veterans. “This is private property. You’re not allowed to touch anything. I’ll call the police.”

The Sentinel added:

The veterans lingered on the property, discussing whether they would take it down or wait for a response. Masterjohn pointed out that they would be trespassing and risking arrest. Another person repeated the old adage, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

The group had decided that they would take further action in a couple of days if nothing was done.

Then, Hurlbert came out and took down the flag, saying she had researched the matter. She didn’t take the POW flag offered as a replacement.

“We’re proud of our president and we didn’t realize it was in violation,” Hurlbert said. “I am the chair and I take responsibility for this.” Hurlbert also said that prior to this protest, no one had complained about the flag.

“If you’ve been a veteran and fought — and some died for this flag — you don’t want to see it desecrated. That’s how simple it is,” Van Beck said.

Hurlbert, however, told Fox News she believed the issue was not the flag, but the President’s image.

“Certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president,” she added.

According to Fox News, Hurlbert intends to contact an attorney over the matter and did not say if she would fly the flag again.

“I won’t say no and I won’t say yes,” the Party official told Fox. “We want to find out what our legal rights are.””

“A longtime political insider in Springfield was indicted today on federal corruption charges for allegedly conspiring with two Chicago businessmen and others to obtain political contributions for a certain public official by shaking down an investment firm that was seeking a $220 million allocation from the state Teachers Retirement System (TRS.) The defendant, William F. Cellini, Sr., was charged in a four-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury, announced Patrick J. Fitzgerald, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.”

“Cellini’s alleged crimes – essentially conspiring with others to force Capri Capital, also a real estate investment firm, and Thomas Rosenberg, a principal and part owner of Capri, to raise or donate substantial political contributions for Public Official A – were the subject of testimony earlier this year at the trial of alleged co-conspirator Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Cellini was charged with conspiring with Rezko, former TRS trustee Stuart Levine, the pension fund’s outside lawyer Steven Loren and others between the spring of 2003 and the summer of 2005 to defraud TRS beneficiaries and the people of Illinois of Levine’s honest services as a TRS trustee. TRS, a public pension plan for teachers and administrators in public schools statewide except in Chicago, serves hundreds of thousands of members and beneficiaries and has assets in excess of $30 billion.

Cellini is the 13th defendant charged as part of Operation Board Games, an ongoing federal public corruption investigation of insider-dealing, influence-peddling and kickbacks involving private interests and public duties related to various state boards and non-profit organizations.”
