WASHINGTON, March 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — An unprecedented coalition of grassroots and “tea party” groups is launching the final push before a possible vote by the House. Coming together under the auspices of the American Grassroots Coalition, various events held by different groups will be coordinated, including a noon rally at the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, a candlelight vigil and “virtual vigil” leading up to the vote.

“All of the groups have a mutual goal — to band together to communicate the frustration of the people and demand the termination of this health bill legislation,” said Jennifer Hulsey, Co-Founder of American Grassroots Coalition.

The past two weeks has seen the “Take The Town Halls To Washington” initiative get nearly 1,000 people to DC to meet with approximately 30 Congressman. The event culminated in the rally at Taft Park near the Capitol, which was sponsored by Tea Party Express. Over 1,500 people assembled to rally against the health care bill and then meet with their representatives.

While the Capitol Police diverted the stage and sound for the park rally, grass roots activists innovated and used a park bench and bull horn to get their message to the attendees!

The following actions are planned for the next 72 hours:

  • Calling campaigns to the House by constituents to vote no on the bill
  • “Talk to Washington” health care town halls in Mississippi, Pennsylvania and other states
  • Code Red rally in Washington, DC at 12 noon on Saturday at Upper Senate Park
  • Nationwide “Virtual Vigil” on BlogTalk radio sponsored by DoctorsandPatients.org
  • Candlelight vigil around the Capitol on Saturday night

Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma issued the following statements  at a news conference today of physician members of the House and Senate regarding Obamacare:

“I want to send a couple of messages to my colleagues in the House.
If you voted no and you vote yes, and you lose your election, and you think any nomination to a federal position isn’t going to be held in the Senate, I’ve got news for you. It’s going to be held.
Number two is, if you get a deal, a parochial deal for you or your district, I’ve already instructed my staff and the staff of seven other senators that we will look at every appropriations bill, at every level, at every instance, and we will outline it by district, and we will associate that with the buying of your vote. So, if you think you can cut a deal now, and it not come out until after the election, I want to tell you that isn’t going to happen. And be prepared to defend selling your vote in the House.”

Parker Griffith Republican representative leaves Democrat Party over Health Care Bill

“A radiation oncologist, Griffith cited the Democrats’ health care plans as a reason for his switch. He was one of 39 Democrats to vote against the bill in the House last month.

“I want to make it perfectly clear that this bill is bad for our doctors,” he said at the press conference, according to the AP. “It’s bad for our patients. It’s bad for the young men and women who are considering going into the health care field.”

He stayed consistent with his earlier statements that he was against Obamacare and that the Health Care Bill will hurt our health care system and likely prevent some people from getting care.

Imagine if they were forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars each year on malpractice insurance and still faced the threat of multimillion-dollar lawsuits with every single decision they made. If so, a government takeover of health care would be the furthest thing from their minds.
Obamacare proponents would have us believe that we will add 30 million patients to the system without adding providers, we will see no decline in the quality of care for the millions of Americans currently happy with the system, and -if you act now!- we will save money in the process. But why stop there? Why not promise it will no longer rain on weekends and every day will be a great hair day?
America has the finest health care delivery system in the world. Let’s not forget that and put it at risk in the name of reform. Desperate souls across the globe flock to our shores and cross our borders every day to seek our care. Why? Our system provides cures while the government-run systems from which they flee do not. Compare Europe’s common cancer mortality rates to America’s: breast cancer – 52 percent higher in Germany and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom; prostate cancer – a staggering 604 percent higher in the United Kingdom and 457 percent higher in Norway; colon cancer – 40 percent higher in the United Kingdom.
Look closer at the United Kingdom. Britain’s higher cancer mortality rate results in 25,000 more cancer deaths per year compared to a similar population size in the United States. But because the U.S. population is roughly five times larger than the United Kingdom’s, that would translate into 125,000 unnecessary American cancer deaths every year. This is more than all the mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, cousins and children in Topeka, Kan. And keep in mind, these numbers are for cancer alone. America also has better survival rates for other major killers, such as heart attacks and strokes. Whatever we do, let us not surrender the great gains we have made. First, do no harm. Lives are at stake.””

“Obamacare: Fixing price at any cost

The justification for Obamacare has been to control costs, but the problem is there is little in Obamacare that will do that. Instead, there are provisions that will ration care and artificially set price. This is a confusion of costs and price.

As one example, consider the implications of Obamacare’s financial penalty aimed at your doctor if he seeks the expert care he has determined you need. If your doctor is in the top 10 percent of primary care physicians who refer patients to specialists most frequently – no matter how valid the reasons – he will face a 5 percent penalty on all their Medicare reimbursements for the entire year. This scheme is specifically designed to deny you the chance to see a specialist. Each year, the insidious nature of that arbitrary 10 percent rule will make things even worse as 100 percent of doctors try to stay off that list. Many doctors will try to avoid the sickest patients, and others will simply refuse to accept Medicare. Already, 42 percent of doctors have chosen that route, and it will get worse. Your mother’s shiny government-issued Medicare health card is meaningless without doctors who will accept it.

Obamacare will further diminish access to health care by lowering reimbursements for medical care without regard to the costs of that care.”

How can you tell when a president is in trouble on a big issue? 

When politicians of his own party avoid appearing with him when he’s in their home area.

Take yesterday. President Obama appeared in the Philadelphia suburbs to once again campaign for his health care takeover.  He delivered the usual falsehoods – for example, Fox News reported that the president claimed $868 billion in savings that is simply a made-up number. He promised that his plan will not cost small businesses more, when everyone knows costs will skyrocket on small businesses.

And three Democrat congressmen from the Philly area – Murphy, Carney and Holden – did not appear with the president from their own party. 

These three Democrats did not stand beside President Obama on their home turf, despite the fact that Obama carried Pennsylvania and their region in the 2008 election. 

They know what we know: The American people have turned against this corrupt Washington health care takeover. The polls clearly show it, with every reputable poll showing strong majorities against the legislation. These congressmen have their ears to the ground in their districts, and they hear the powerful grassroots anger. It’s anger against the president’s arrogance in continuing to push a health care takeover while ignoring job losses and a still-faltering economy, despite the fact that the American people have clearly said, “Keep Your Hands Off My Health Care.”

We’re just days away from a crucial vote in the House of Representatives. Despite all the big talk from Speaker Pelosi and the liberals, they STILL DO NOT HAVE THE VOTES to pass their health care takeover.

They’ve put everything on the line for their ideology, as flawed as it is. 

The question for us is:  will we do the same for our values, our freedoms and our nation?

Knowing what I know about Americans like us, I believe the answer will be a resounding YES. “

Initially against ObamaCare Grijalva got the payoff he was looking for while talking to Obama and will change his vote on ObamaCare passage. Grivalja’s press statement said “I was glad to hear…” Obama is “…personally committed to pursue a public option after passage of the current bill.” Grivalja’s statement continued saying Obama told him “the public option lacks enough Senate support to be included in the final package.”

There is no way to stop ObamaCare in the Senate since Obama has ordered Reid to use reconciliation, FORCING THE BILL TO PASS WITH 51 VOTES. But we can beat it in the House! Dozens of Congressmen who voted for the bill last time are re-thinking their support as tax increases and special deals to buy off Senators are included. And, since the bill passed by only 220-215, Pelosi has no Democratic margin for error.

This is the biggest gamble of Obama’s presidency. Nancy Pelosi may not have the votes to pass the healthcare bill through the House. So, Obama is telling the Blue Dogs that he is prepared to sacrifice them in order to get ObamaCare. Will they cave in and throw away their chances in November, or will they finally live up to their “conservative” label?

Americans have already rejected ObamaCare. A Quinnipiac poll showed Americans disapproved of Obama’s healthcare plan by 54-35 percent. Rasmussen said 56% opposed and 41% approved, and both Pew Research and PPP said 50% were opposed to it. WE MUST KILL THIS BILL AND CUT HealthCare COSTS NOW!

It was bad enough when President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid tried to pass their health care takeover through vote-buying, closed-door meetings, and strong-arm tactics.  But what they’re doing now is even worse…
 
Right now, Obama, Pelosi and Reid are working to ram their Washington takeover through Congress – without a real vote – using a parliamentary trick called “reconciliation.”
 
Democrats are hosting a sham “summit” this Thursday to “re-package” their failed plan before they attempt to force it through using “reconciliation.”  The result of their dishonest maneuver:  only 51 votes will be needed in the Senate instead of the 60 required by the long-established rule of law.
 
Working with grassroots allies, Americans for Prosperity has a plan to defeat this threat:

Lest we forget.

There is much going on, we are on the road to saving this country from collapse and we must continue to fight to save it. There are many unfinished stories to write and to stay on top of. Here are just a few of them.

John Brennan’s controversial handing of terrorists, his controvesial past and his very suspicious ties to Obama.

The Rod Blagojevich trial, Tony Rezko sentencing and what potentially will be revealed about Obama.

The suspicious MN senate race and seat that Al Franken obtained.

The continuing struggle of Larry Sinclair to keep his story alive and the efforts to silence him.

Aside from the Tony Rezko trial and subsequent indictments of Obama associates such as Rod Blagojevich, Larry Sinclair and his story may have been the single biggest catalyst for many to begin questioning Obama early in 2008. He has not backed down. As many of you know, from the moment that Sinclair came out with his Youtube video in January 2008, he has constantly been attacked and no expense has been spared to shut him down. This is part of a much larger story of the MSM being complicit in hiding Obama’s past. We were not going to let that happen then and now.

I want to thank everybody for their efforts last night to help Larry Sinclair. We are all connected as Americans and as voyagers on this planet. We need each other and I believe one of the lessons of this life is awareness of the plight of others. Mother Teresa certainly exemplified that. Our efforts to save this country also bear this out as well as our efforts to look out for each other. Thanks to all who responded to my plea last night. It is not just about money. Caring, praying for and just doing what you can are what it is all about.

There is a new story that has developed out of the Larry Sinclair struggle. This story reveals what can happen when the government has control of our lives, in this case, Social Security. I have first hand knowledge of this. Just as I was writing this article, I received an email.

“Citizen Wells,  What do you think about a mass petition to US Senators
from Florida with everything that has happened to Larry and demand that his Social Security be reinstated.  I have had a battle royal with them myself, they have stopped and started mine three different due to letters being sent to them from my enemies.  If we could get a petition together including the facts from the beginning and have it hand delivered, I really believe it might make a difference.  They all know this SOB is illegal but want to push it from someone else’s proof.  this might work, especially through the Republican side.  Who Knows???  After all, with Larry’s illness, Obama with his dirty tricks is denying him medical care that will save his life.  Just A thought.  I can’t donate, but I can help push a petition and information of whats going on.”

Anyone out there think that we need to give the US Government control over our health care?

SOVEREIGNTY
Senator Tony Fulton’s Sovereignty Resolution has been scheduled for a hearing before the Government, Military, and Veterans Affairs Committee, Friday, February 19 at 1:30pm.
It is currently the first item scheduded to be heard.
**WE NEED AS MANY BODIES AS WE CAN GET AT THAT HEARING –
THINK OF IT AS THE BIGGEST TEA PARTY WE’VE EVER PUT ON**

Linda Rohman and I had a meeting with Senator Fulton on February 1, prior to the hearing being scheduled, to offer what ever support we could in helping the bill to pass. We had a follow-up meeting yesterday to give a progress report on our plans.

Linda has had prior successful experience in coordinating legislative advocacy with the Nebraska Home Educators’ Association. A very restrictive homeschooling bill had been proposed which went no further because NCHEA coordinated testimony and rallied up HUGE attendance at the Education Committee hearing. 1200 homeschoolers descended on the Capitol that day.
*We need THAT kind of support for the Sovereignty Resolution*
Come to the meeting Thursday evening to hear about the effort underway to ensure the passage of the bill.
I will be putting out further details on Friday.

One aspect of these plans is now likely to involve testimony by Oklahoma State Representative Charles Key. Representative Key was the author of the Oklahoma Sovereignty Resolution, which was successfully passed over the OK Governor’s veto in 2009. He is considered a leader in the Sovereignty movement; his bill has been used as a “template” by other states. He has testified before other state’s legislatures, including most recently, Kansas in January.
We will have received additional information about Rep. Key’s ability to come to Lincoln by the Thursday.

In addition to the effort to get people to the hearing, we are planning associated events and we will need many volunteers.

While Obama was giving a  jobs speech, Friday afternoon, January 22, 2010 at Lorain County Community College
in Elyria, Ohio, a government report indicated that unemployment was up in 43 States in December. Consistent with Obama’s past and personality, Obama’s speech is driven by Lies and Narcissism. Commentary is provided by Karl Rove, Sean Hannity and Citizen Wells.

“WASHINGTON — Unemployment rates rose in 43 states last month, the government said Friday, painting a bleak picture of the job market and illustrating nationwide data released two weeks ago.
The rise in joblessness was a sharp change from November, when 36 states said their unemployment rates fell. Four states — South Carolina, Delaware, Florida and North Carolina — reported record-high jobless rates in December.
New Jersey’s rate, meanwhile, rose to a 33-year high of 10.1 percent while New York’s reached a 26-year high of 9 percent.
Analysts said the report showed the economy is recovering at too weak a pace to generate consistent job creation.
“A lot of states that had started to add jobs (in November) gave up those gains in December,” said Sophia Koropeckyj, managing director at Moody’s Economy.com.”

“Texas lost the second-most jobs: 23,900. That sent its jobless rate to 8.3 percent in December from 8 percent. The next-largest job losses were in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan.”
