Senator Tom Coburn, Physician members of the house, News Conference, Ultimatum

I heard this on Rush Limbaugh a few minutes ago.

Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma issued the following statements  at a news conference today of physician members of the House and Senate regarding Obamacare:

“I want to send a couple of messages to my colleagues in the House.
If you voted no and you vote yes, and you lose your election, and you think any nomination to a federal position isn’t going to be held in the Senate, I’ve got news for you. It’s going to be held.
Number two is, if you get a deal, a parochial deal for you or your district, I’ve already instructed my staff and the staff of seven other senators that we will look at every appropriations bill, at every level, at every instance, and we will outline it by district, and we will associate that with the buying of your vote. So, if you think you can cut a deal now, and it not come out until after the election, I want to tell you that isn’t going to happen. And be prepared to defend selling your vote in the House.”

Tom Coburn MD, OK Senator, Health Care Bill is Scary, Wall Street Journal, December 16, 2009, Harry Reid, Seniors will die sooner, Medicare cuts, Government coercion instead of patient cues, Empowers Medicare to deny treatment based on cost, Sections 3403 2021

From the Wall Street Journal, December 16, 2009, written by Tom Coburn, MD, a senator from OK.

“The Health Bill Is Scary”

“By TOM COBURN”

“I recently suggested that seniors will die sooner if Congress actually implements the Medicare cuts in the health-care bill put forward by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. My colleagues who defend the bill—none of whom have practiced medicine—predictably dismissed my concern as a scare tactic. They are wrong. Every American, not just seniors, should know that the rationing provisions in the Reid bill will not only reduce their quality of life, but their life spans as well.

My 25 years as a practicing physician have shown me what happens when government attempts to practice medicine: Doctors respond to government coercion instead of patient cues, and patients die prematurely. Even if the public option is eliminated from the bill, these onerous rationing provisions will remain intact.

For instance, the Reid bill (in sections 3403 and 2021) explicitly empowers Medicare to deny treatment based on cost. An Independent Medicare Advisory Board created by the bill—composed of permanent, unelected and, therefore, unaccountable members—will greatly expand the rationing practices that already occur in the program. Medicare, for example, has limited cancer patients’ access to Epogen, a costly but vital drug that stimulates red blood cell production. It has limited the use of virtual, and safer, colonoscopies due to cost concerns. And Medicare refuses medical claims at twice the rate of the largest private insurers.

Section 6301 of the Reid bill creates new comparative effectiveness research (CER) programs. CER panels have been used as rationing commissions in other countries such as the U.K., where 15,000 cancer patients die prematurely every year according to the National Cancer Intelligence Network. CER panels here could effectively dictate coverage options and ration care for plans that participate in the state insurance exchanges created by the bill.”

“But the most fundamental flaw of the Reid bill is best captured by the story of one my patients I’ll call Sheila. When Sheila came to me at the age of 33 with a lump in her breast, traditional tests like a mammogram under the standard of care indicated she had a cyst and nothing more. Because I knew her medical history, I wasn’t convinced. I aspirated the cyst and discovered she had a highly malignant form of breast cancer. Sheila fought a heroic battle against breast cancer and enjoyed 12 good years with her family before succumbing to the disease.

If I had been practicing under the Reid bill, the government would have likely told me I couldn’t have done the test that discovered Sheila’s cancer because it wasn’t approved under CER. Under the Reid bill, Sheila may have lived another year instead of 12, and her daughters would have missed a decade with their mom.”

Tea Party Express II, San Diego CA, Los Angeles, October 25, 2009, Bakersfield, Fresno California, October 26, 2009, Stop bailouts, cap and trade, spending, government run healthcare, and higher taxes!

From the Tea Party Express website:

“The Tea Party Express national bus tour will host a series of tea party rallies all across the nation from coast-to-coast and border-to-border. The effort will begin in San Diego, California on October 25th and travel eastward, building momentum as the tour reaches its final destination: a giant rally in Orlando, Florida on November 12th.

The tour comes exactly one-year before the November 2010 elections – and this will serve as a “Countdown to Judgment Day” for our elected officials. Those who are not serving in the nation’s best interest will be put on notice: we’re going to hand you a pink slip!

At each stop the tour will highlight some of the worst offenders in Congress who have voted for higher spending, higher taxes, and government intervention in the lives of American families and businesses.  These Members of Congress have infringed upon the freedom of the individual in this great nation, and its time for us to say: “Enough is Enough!”

The “Tea Party Express” tour will feature leaders in the anti-tax, conservative, tea party movement along with musical performances of “American Tea Party Anthem” and “A Bailout Song” at each tea party event.  The tour delegation includes:”

HELP US MAKE A FOOL OUT OF KEITH OLBERMANN !!!

Last night Keith Olbermann launched into a tirade against the Tea Party Express II: Countdown to Judgment Day.  Olbermann and other liberals are quite unhappy that We The People are rising up to take our country back from the liberal tax-spend-bailout politicians.

Olbermann’s central point of mockery of the Tea Party Express was that no one would show up at our rallies, and no one was signing up for our Facebook page.  Watch Olbermann’s rant against the Tea Party Express and then find out how you can fight back and help us make a fool out of Keith Olbermann:

Obama thugs?, Thought police, Oklahoma City police officer, February 18, 2009, anti-President Barack Obama sign, Free speech threatened, Secret Service, FBI, First Amendment rights violated

Are Big Brother and the Thought Police tightening their grip?

From Enid Oklahoma News,Ffebruary 18, 2009:

“OKC officer pulls man over for anti-Obama sign on vehicle

By Bridget Nash, Staff Writer

An Oklahoma City police officer wrongly pulled over a man last week and confiscated an anti-President Barack Obama sign the man had on his vehicle.

The officer misinterpreted the sign as threatening, said Capt. Steve McCool, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and took the sign, which read “Abort Obama, not the unborn.”

Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.

“I pulled over, knowing I hadn’t done anything wrong,” Harrison said in a recent phone interview.

When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.

“They said, ‘It’s because of the sign in your window,’” Harrison said.

“It’s not meant to be a threat, it’s a statement about abortion,” Harrison said.

He said he disagrees with the president’s position on abortion.

“I asked the officer, ‘Do you know what abort means?’” Harrison said. “He said, ‘Yeah, it means to kill.’ I said, ‘No, it means to remove or terminate.’”

Harrison said his sign was to be interpreted as saying something like: Remove Obama from office, not unborn babies from the womb.

The officers confiscated Harrison’s sign and gave him a slip of paper that stated he was part of an investigation.”

““The Secret Service called and said they were at my house,” Harrison said.”

NC hippies, Earth worshippers, NC went for Obama, Tennessee and Oklahoma are looking good, Youtube video, Time to leave North Carolina

I was born and raised in North Carolina. The characters we watched on the Andy Griffith Show were not
unlike the good people that have surrounded me most of my life. In recent years I have come to respect
the people of Tennessee for maintaining their values and common sense and rejecting such outlandish
characters as native son Al Gore and recently Barack Obama. Oklahoma gets the top award for common sense and good judgement for their sound defeat of Obama in that state.

I may start my search for property in Tennessee and Oklahoma.

First NC narrowly went for Obama.

And now this …..
