Glenn Beck medical tests, Neuropathy diagnosis, Feeling in hands and feet

I was aware that Glenn Beck was having some medical issues. Although Beck has been dead wrong on the Obama eligibility issues, he is a likeable guy and I wish him the best. This was posted on TheBlaze.com recently.

“This morning on his radio program, Glenn Beck discussed in more detail some of the physical challenges he’s been facing. Glenn told his audience that he will be taking several days off next week to undergo tests at a hospital “out west.”

On recent broadcasts he’s discussed that he has been having problems with feeling in his hands and feet. Today he explained that “small fiber” issues may be involved but that testing will provide more understanding. “We don’t even know what all of the symptoms are at this point,“ he explained adding that he believes ”physical, mental and spiritual are all tied.“ By ”small fibers,” he was referring to the possibility of a small fiber neuropathy diagnosis. But that is just one possibility among many things that will be considered.

Glenn also said the listeners may have noticed a change in how he sounds on the air. He said he’s been having problems with his vocal cords and that doctors will also be examining this problem.

Glenn talked at length about how the bond he has with his radio audience has been built on a foundation of disclosure and that he felt it was important for him to share as much information as he could, “So that you will understand my mindset.””

Judge grants request for Amicus Curiae Brief filing, Obama eligibility, Commonwealth of Virginia, Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli, Citizen Wells open thread, October 9, 2010

Judge grants request for Amicus Curiae Brief filing, Obama eligibility, Commonwealth of Virginia, Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli

From The Post & Email October 8, 2010.
“Last March The Post & Email reported on an “Admission of Ineligibility” declared by a Florida man after he charged Barack Hussein Obama with “negligence” for failing to answer his request that Obama prove he is a natural born Citizen and therefore qualified to hold the office of President of the United States.

Mr. W. Spencer Connerat III, the author of the document which he deemed a “confession,” had originally sent it to the attorneys general of Florida and Virginia last March in the likely event that either or both of them decided to file a lawsuit over the impending passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).  Some have referred to the legislation as “Obamacare,” and its constitutionality has been debated since long before its passage.

Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli, on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, filed suit against Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius directly after the legislation was passed by Congress on March 23, 2010.  A group of more than 20 states filed a similar lawsuit led by Attorney General Bill McCollum of Florida.”

“On September 21, 2010, Judge Hudson granted Mr. Connerat’s motion to file an Amicus Curiae brief to be included in the Virginia lawsuit along with many others filed by interested parties, including Physician Hospitals of America, former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III, and the American Civil Rights Union.”

Hopium, Obama and pals need hopium for election, John Kass

John Kass wrote about hopium prior to the 2008 election and it was reported here.

From John Kass at the Chicago Tribune October 7,  2010.

“Obama and his pals need some scarce Hopium for the next election
As President Barack Obama returns home Thursday for some old-fashioned Chicago politics with his friends, let’s make one thing perfectly clear.
America’s Hopium farmers must increase production, because the nation’s supply is dangerously low, and the November midterm elections are only weeks away.
Even my personal Obama Chia Heads don’t produce as much Hopium as before. And this should worry the president.
Because as readers know, Hopium is the stuff that sends tingles up reporters’ legs and keeps everybody, even taxpayers, feelin’ all right.
If America has a Hopium deficit, we might have no way of altering political reality like we did a few years ago. And these days, reality bites.
There’s the rotten economic news. Unemployment keeps rising and the federal deficit keeps increasing because politicians in Washington keep spending money that we don’t have.

So in a few months, you might need half a bar of gold bullion just to buy a Happy Meal.

Then there are those federal tax hikes coming after the November elections — and don’t tell me that reversing a tax cut isn’t a tax hike. It’s a sign to employers not to hire anyone, not even their idiot brothers-in-law.

The polls say congressional Democrats expect a serious thwacking. And Obama will be blamed by the same journalists who once felt those tingles at his approach.

Here in Illinois, we’ve got Alexi Giannoulias and Rahm Emanuel seeking the president’s help so they can get elected. That way, hope can waft across the state and soothe our fears. Yes, we can.

Alexi, the famed Broadway Bank loan officer with those mob loans dragging him down, sure needs Obama to raise some big money at Thursday’s fundraiser. I’m betting on a staged man-hug for TV, with a couple of shoulder slaps. But open mikes can be treacherous, so they probably won’t be whispering, “Dude, how’s Tony?”

Remember Tony Rezko? He’s Obama’s personal real estate fairy and loyal customer of the Giannoulias family’s now-failed Broadway Bank. Rezko is also the convicted influence peddler who might testify in the retrial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
So fill a bowl of Hopium and tell me the story of how we had all transcended the broken politics of the past.”

Glenn Beck interview by New York Times, Weaknesses and failures, Glenn call me

“Why has Obama, for over 2 years, employed numerous private and government attorneys to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells and millions of concerned Americans

Glenn Beck is a likeable guy. I am not here to bash Glenn Beck, but to wake him up out of a stupor of ignorance or arrogance.

From the New York Times September 29, 2010.

“Glenn Beck was sprawled out on his office couch a couple of weeks ago, taking — as self-helpers like to say — an inventory. “I think what the country is going through right now is, in a way, what I went through with my alcoholism,” he told me. “You can either live or die. You have a choice.” Beck, who is 46, was in the Midtown Manhattan offices of his production company, Mercury Radio Arts, which is named for Mercury Theater, the company created by Orson Welles. He had just finished his three-hour syndicated radio show and was a few hours away from his television show. It was a Wednesday afternoon in the middle of September, and Beck had just returned from a week’s vacation in the Grand Tetons followed by a quick hop to Anchorage, where he and Sarah Palin appeared at an event on Sept. 11.”

“WHILE THE RIGHT has traditionally responded to its aggrieved sense of alienation with anger, Beck is not particularly angry. He seems sorrowful; his prevailing message is umbrage born of self-taught wisdom. He is more agonized than mad. He is post-angry.

Beck rarely speaks with the squinty-eyed certainty or smugness of Rush Limbaugh or his fellow Fox News hosts Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. He often changes his mind or nakedly contradicts himself. “When you listen and watch me, it’s where I am in my thinking in the moment,” Beck told me. “I’m trying to figure it out as I go.” He will sometimes stop midsentence and recognize that something he is about to say could be misunderstood and could cause him trouble. Then, more often than not, he will say it anyway.

In the middle of his analogy to me about his own personal crash and the country’s need to heal itself, Beck looked at his publicist with a flash of alarm about how I might construe what he was saying. “He is going to write a story that I believe the whole country is alcoholics,” he said. And then he went on to essentially compare his “Restoring Honor” pageant at the Lincoln Memorial to a large-scale A.A. meeting. “When I bottomed out, I couldn’t put it back together myself,” Beck told me. “I could do all the hard work. I could do the 12 steps. But I needed like-minded people around me.”

He needed support, just as responsible Americans need it now to reinforce the principles and values that the founders instilled and that, he says, have since decayed. “You need people to be able to reach out and connect and say, ‘Let me help hold you when you’re stumbling, and you hold me when I’m stumbling, because what we’re going through now is a storm of confusion.’ ” Fans approach Beck and give him hugs. Do people feel they can hug Limbaugh?”

“Beck is constantly admitting his weaknesses and failures, which he wields as both a crutch and a shield. “Maybe Glenn’s transparency is what keeps him out of trouble,” says Robert Beath, Beck’s drama teacher at Sehome High School in Bellingham, Wash. Beath, who was fond of Beck as a teenager, said Beck appears to now think that his revelations grant him license. “When he says, ‘I am not perfect,’ he seems to escape accountability for his various points of view. Yet he expects others to be accountable for their point of view without seeming to allow them the ‘I am not perfect’ exception.””

Glenn Beck is not perfect, nor are any of us. It is the human condition. However, when you make a mistake, admit it, humble yourself. Glenn, deciding not to cover the Obama eligibility issues is bad enough. It is your decision. However, to criticize and belittle those questioning Obama’s eligibility, including many in the military, military officers such as LTC Terry Lakin and then not cover the Lakin court martial, that is unexcusable and un American.

Glenn Beck, admit your mistakes.

Glenn Beck, call me.

LTC Terry Lakin court martial, New defense strategy

“Why has Obama, for over 2 years, employed numerous private and government attorneys to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells and millions of concerned Americans

From World Net Daily October 4, 2010.
“There’s a new lawyer and a new, still-unreleased strategy being developed for a career doctor in the Army who is challenging the president to prove his eligibility to be commander in chief, and therefore document the validity of the orders under his command.

The move is being made by Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, whose most recent hearing in the military judiciary found the judge essentially concluding that he would be allowed to argue only two points at a court-martial: whether he was issued orders and whether he followed them.

According to the American Patriot Foundation, which has been running the Safeguard our Constitution website and working in support of Lakin, that work will continue with minor modifications.

See the movie Obama does not want you to see: Own the DVD that probes this unprecedented presidential-eligibility mystery!

Specifically, officials confirmed links to a defense fund set up for Lakin will continue to provide the public an opportunity to have a hand in an issue that the officer considers so serious it’s worth endangering his career.
Neither Lakin nor his new attorney, who according to online reports is Neal Puckett, could be reached immediately for details.

But the firm’s website said Puckett served as a ground combat officer for the U.S. Marine Corps and for some time, the firm’s sole focus was military law.

Note: A legal-defense fund has been set up for Lt. Col. Terry Lakin. Click for information.

The American Patriot Foundation, in its announcement, said Lakin is repositioning his forces and will be focusing for the next several weeks on the court-martial, scheduled now for Nov. 3-5.

“LTC Lakin is consistent in continuing on the same path that he announced publicly six months ago when he released his first YouTube video – and consistent with his military training, to continue to request assurance from Pentagon leadership that his military orders, including his deployment orders to Afghanistan, are legal – authorized at the highest level by a commander-in-chief who is constitutionally eligible, per Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution,” the foundation confirmed.

“As a medical officer and not a lawyer or constitutional scholar, LTC Lakin is not laying claim to be the sole arbiter of the president’s constitutionality in attempting to determine, without any genuine evidence to make such a determination, the president’s ‘natural born’ citizen status,” the organization said.

“The burden of proof rests solely on Barack Obama to demonstrate to the American people and to the U.S. armed forces that he commands, that he is lawfully serving in his current capacity as head of the executive branch of the federal government,” the foundation said.

The foundation said Army prosecutors, along with the acting judge in the case, Denise Lind, have “made this determination of the commander in chief’s eligibility under the Constitution impossible – by denying discovery – and essentially denying LTC Lakin the customary due process rights that defendants in American courts enjoy when facing criminal charges.””

Mr. Smith goes to Washington, 2010 elections, People not platitudes, Citizen Wells open thread, October 4, 2010

Mr. Smith goes to Washington, 2010 elections, People not platitudes

I had already generally decided what I was going to write this morning by late afternoon yesterday. Later I discovered that TCM was playing “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” starring Jimmy Stewart. Of course I had to watch it again. Perhaps the movie is a bit sentimental, a bit schmaltzy. Well, I like it and I like what the movie and Jimmy Stewart stand for. I am also reminded of another favorite of mine, “It’s a Wonderful Life” also starring Jimmy Stewart where Stewart speaks of all the everyday people who do the living and the dying.

We often speak in platitudes that involve patriotism, the flag, the US Constitution and lofty ideals, but what does this really mean? Jimmy Stewart, in the movie speaks of being free when his ancestors were not. We certainly should never take our freedom for granted. But it also means justice for all and a level playing field of opportunity. In simple terms it means working together for our common safety and prosperity.

When I began covering the issues surrounding Obama, the 2008 elections and the takeover of this country by un American elements, many people in my life questioned my zeal. I explained to them that I had never experienced or read about anything so radical, so drastic happening in this country before. And when  I say that, I include the American Civil War. Many people I talked to could not understand my motives. Of course, they were not really paying attention. They were lulled into a false sense of security. Many were fooled by a promise of change, a sense of a better world, a better life, not unlike the surreal world that played out for the German people in the early 1930’s.

I was concerned then as I am now that the world that I grew up in, where there were people like “Mr. Smith” who believed in what this country stood for and were willing to sacrifice all to defend it was disappearing. That we were entering a world more like that of “1984” by George Orwell where people are not free to live and think and speak out.

Over the past several years I have been watching the economy falter and our Justice system decline. I have watched the news of the housing market and jobs data go from bad to worse. This has been troubling on the macro level. The big picture. But what does all of this really mean?

Here is where this really hits home. This is why I and so many of you have been fighting to save this country. In my daily life I have watched as those around me have lost faith in the institutions of our country. As they have lost faith in obtaining jobs and in supporting their family and most importantly in the future of this country.

It really hits you in the face in the despair you see in the countenance of a friend, who is fighting depression from struggles on many fronts. The economy is not helping. In the checkout line yesterday at the grocery store, the lady who took my money seemed frazzled. She told me that she was working 3 jobs and about to divorce her husband. God bless her.

It really hits home when you hear of a real tragedy. A lady I know recently lost her son in law. He committed suicide. He was around 40, had 3 children and had been out of work for over a year and a half.

This is what the platitudes are all about. People. People with a common bond to live free, raise their families in a safe environment with hope for the future. This is why we must continue to fight to save this country. That is what it is all about.

The 2010 elections are less than a month away. We must do everything in our power to change Congress.

Obama DC rally, Socialists, Marxists, Liberals?, Citizen Wells open thread, October 3, 2010

Obama DC rally, Socialists, Marxists, Liberals?

NPR describes the attendees at the Obama DC rally as liberals.

“Liberals had their Washington, D.C. march and rally Saturday about a month after conservatives had theirs.

A noteworthy element captured in some of the reporting on the progressives’ event was that people who are ideologically left-of-center are frustrated too, just like those in the Tea Party movement.

Economic anxieties and fears that the nation was headed in the wrong direction were picked up by reporters who talked with some of the estimated 175,000, who attended according to organizers.

Of course, attendees at Saturday’s “One Nation Working Together” event had a different analysis of the causes of the nation’s problem than those who attended the much larger Beck rally.”

Old birth certificates no longer valid, Puerto Rico, US Government requires valid birth certificate

“Why has Obama, for over 2 years, employed numerous private and government attorneys to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells and millions of concerned Americans

From The St. Petersburg Times September 27, 2010.

“Puerto Rican birth certificates issued before July will no longer be accepted as a valid form of ID at state and federal agencies beginning Thursday, officials say.

The change coincides with a decision by the Puerto Rican government to issue new, more secure birth certificates because the old ones, they said, were frequently used unlawfully to obtain driver’s licenses, passports, and Social Security benefits.”
