Obama Romney debate moderator Candy Crowley liberal bias, Crowley selects audience questions , Crowley will not follow rules, Biased history

“I recall standing out in very chilly Springfield, Illinois, when Barack Obama announced. And a lot of people I talked to there said, ‘Oh, you’re an Obama supporter?’ I said no, but you know, this might be history. I wanted to bring my kid. Same with Hillary Clinton. I brought my daughter, you know, because I think this might be history.”…CNN’s Candy Crowley on American Morning, February 1, 2008

***  Update Oct. 17, 2012, 8:35 AM  ***

Candy Crowley did not disappoint us. She performed as her history and associations predicted. More on this later today.

From Media Research Center October 16, 2012.

“MRC Study: By 2-to-1 Margin, Journalists Favor Liberal Questions at Town Hall Debates”

“Tonight’s town hall-style presidential debate will ostensibly feature questions from undecided voters, but the evening’s agenda will really be decided by the moderator, as CNN’s Candy Crowley will select which of the more than roughly 80 voters in the room will actually get a chance to talk to the candidates.

Reviewing the five previous town hall debates, the journalist-moderators have tended to skew the agenda of these so-called citizen forums to the liberal side of the spectrum, but not always. In 2004, ABC’s Charles Gibson selected a balanced menu of questions, with questions from the left matching those from the right.

But Gibson is the lone exception. The other journalists who have moderated these forums — ABC’s Carole Simpson in 1992, PBS’s Jim Lehrer in 1996 and 2000, and NBC’s Tom Brokaw in 2008 — all favored liberal agenda questions as they chose which of the undecided voters would actually participate in the debate.

The bottom line: if history is a reliable guide, Mitt Romney has twice the chance of facing a hostile liberal question Tuesday night as Barack Obama has of facing a question based on a conservative agenda, as the record shows a 2-to-1 tilt to the left in past town hall debates.

The Media Research Center has examined the agenda of every town hall debate since the format debuted 20 years ago. In the 1992 Bush-Clinton-Perot debate in Richmond, we scored eight audience questions as straightforward requests for information, four liberal questions, and no conservative questions. One participant that year described the election as about choosing a father who would take care of citizens, whom he referred to as “children.”

The focus of my work as a domestic mediator is meeting the needs of the children that I work with, by way of their parents, and not the wants of their parents. And I ask the three of you, how can we, as symbolically the children of the future president, expect the two of you, the three of you to meet our needs, the needs in housing and in crime and you name it, as opposed to the wants of your political spin doctors and your political parties?

Four years later, we tallied ten questions as straightforward, five as conveying a liberal agenda, and three as conservative. That year, one voter asked Bill Clinton whether he had “plans to expand the Family Leave Act,” while another insisted during a discussion of health care that “the private sector is a problem.”

In 2000, moderator Jim Lehrer favored liberal questions by an 8-to-2 margin over conservative questions. Examples from that debate: One voter asked George W. Bush and Al Gore: “Would you be open to the ideal of a national health care plan for everybody?” while another targeted Bush:

We’d like to know why you object to the Brady handgun bill, if you do object to it. Because in a recent TV ad, it showed that the [NRA] says if you are elected that they will be working out of your office…actually, that kind of bothers me.

In 2004, anchor Charles Gibson picked an ideologically balanced set of questions: eight from the left/pro-Kerry, eight from the right/pro-Bush and two ambiguous/neutral. From the left, one voter lectured then-President Bush about the “intensity of aggravation that other countries had with how we handled the Iraq situation,” while another complained about the Patriot Act “which takes away checks on law enforcement and weakens American citizens’ rights and freedoms….Why are my rights being watered down?”

But balancing the night, Gibson also showcased a voter who posed this tough question to John Kerry: “You’ve stated your concern for the rising cost of health care, yet you chose a vice presidential candidate who has made millions of dollars successfully suing medical professionals. How do you reconcile this with the voters?”

Another voter aimed at Kerry’s cynical use of stem cell research to paint Republicans as anti-science. “Senator Kerry, thousands of people have already been cured or treated by the use of adult stem cells or umbilical cord stem cells. However, no one has been cured by using embryonic stem cells. Wouldn’t it be wise to use stem cells obtained without the destruction of an embryo?”

In 2008, NBC’s Tom Brokaw selected a dozen questions from citizens — three from the left, none from the right, and nine that were neutral/informational. The Obama-McCain town hall debate took place at the height of the financial panic that year, and one voter demanded to know “What’s the fastest, most positive solution to bail these people [retirees and workers] out of the economic ruin?”

Another voter wanted to see a flurry of legislation to create “green jobs,” telling John McCain: “We saw that Congress moved pretty fast in the face of an economic crisis. I want to know, what you would do within the first two years to make sure that Congress moves fast as far as environmental issues, like climate change and green jobs?”

As the Gibson example shows, a moderator has it within their power to ensure an ideologically balanced discussion of the issues — to serve all of the potential voters who might be watching. It’s up to Crowley to determine whether the candidates will face equally tough questioning, or whether the liberal Barack Obama will face a friendlier agenda than Mitt Romney.”

Candy Crowley has stated she will not abide by the rules.

From Politico October 16, 2012.

“In an interview with CNN this afternoon, Candy Crowley reiterated that, like past town-hall debate moderators, she intends to do more than just hold the microphone at tonight’s debate in Hempstead, N.Y. — an intention that has caused concern for both campaigns.

“They will call on ‘Alice,’ and ‘Alice’ will stand up and ask a question. Both candidates will answer. Then there’s time for a follow-up question, facilitating a discussion, whatever you want to call it,” Crowley said. “So if Alice asks oranges, and someone answers apples, there’s the time to go, ‘But Alice asked oranges? What’s the answer to that?” Or, ‘Well, you say this, but what about that?'”

(Also on POLITICO: 5 things to watch at the debate)

Crowley’s vision of her role at tonight’s debate is in keeping with past town hall debates, but it would defy the expectations agreed to by both campaigns in the co-signed memorandum of understanding, obtained and released yesterday by Time’s Mark Halperin. From section 7, part (c), sub-part (iv) (italics mine):

7. Additional Rules Apllicable to the October 16 Debate…

(c) With respect to all questions…

(iv) The moderator will not ask follow-up questions or comment on either the questions asked by the audience or the answers of the candidates during the debate or otherwise intervene in the debate except to acknowledge the questioners from the audience or enforce the time limits, and invite candidate comments during the 2 minute response period.

There is hardly any gray area here. Crowley is expected to do nothing except to acknowledge questioners, enforce the time limits, and invite candidate comments. Many people — especially journalists — would and have objected to that, but that’s the agreement. ”

Candy Crowley’s history.

From News Busters August 15, 2012.

“Affirmative-action lovers were thrilled that CNN’s Candy Crowley would be the first female to moderate a presidential debate since Carole Simpson’s sneering turn in 1992. Crowley deserves the opportunity after being in the field of political news for decades, and is the closest thing the current crop of moderators has to a Tim Russert type in being able to question firmly both sides of the aisle.

However, Crowley still fits within the CNN media-elite mold of liberalism, and not just with her unfortunate channeling of “some Republicans” on Saturday who anonymously felt the Paul Ryan pick “looks a little bit like some sort of ticket death wish.” Below are a list of some of Crowley’s more liberal moments on the CNN airwaves:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓
“Usually you kind of give the President a pass on leaking confidential stuff.” – CNN’s Candy Crowley on Obama’s self-promoting national security leaks, June 10, 2012 State of the Union.

“Let me talk to you a little about the swing state of Virginia, and I want to show our viewers your unemployment rate which has basically stayed two to three points below the national unemployment rate. It’s a success story really. Okay? You like this. I understand that. But, but, even as you embrace it as a Republican governor, does it not make it difficult for Mitt Romney, who has the same problem in other swing states, to come in and say, ‘The economy is terrible and, you know, you need to elect a new president?’ Because Virginia is doing very well under President Obama. – CNN’s Candy Crowley to Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, June 3, 2012 State of the Union.

“Do you have a problem with being inclusive, because most people do look at Republicans going ‘They’re a conservative bunch of white guys who want to protect Big Oil.’ And now you’re even hearing Republicans saying, ‘It’s not big enough. We haven’t opened up the tent door.’” – CNN’s Candy Crowley touting an Arnold Schwarzenegger op-ed to Newt Gingrich, May 6, 2012 State of the Union.

“We have a poll where the majority of Americans said you all need to compromise on this debt ceiling, you all need to raise the debt ceiling, and it out to be — the deal ought to include a combination of tax increases and spending cuts. You are opposed to both raising the debt ceiling and that kind of compromise. So doesn’t that put you outside the mainstream?” – CNN’s Candy Crowley to Rep. Michele Bachmann, August 14, 2011 State of the Union.

“There’s that term, ‘penny wise and pound foolish.’ Would you worry that, by cutting off those services, people…would have sicker babies, or certain people…wouldn’t have HIV testing…and that would just cost us more?” – CNN’s Candy Crowley questioning Rep. Steve King on Planned Parenthood subsidies while guest-hosting The Situation Room on February 18, 2011.

“So let’s get down to the basic question, who’s going to get hurt in this budget?…So you have said in an editorial you wrote that the budget is an expression of our values and aspirations. So if I look at this what we call discretionary spending, things we don’t have to spend on, you want to cut back community development block programs. That creates jobs in communities; it helps them with infrastructure, that kind of thing. Home heating assistance; education, as you just mentioned. You’re also going to do — the Great Lakes Restoration Fund Initiative is getting a pretty healthy cut in what they get from the feds, eight states involved, in trying to keep the Great Lakes economically viable. What does that say about our values and aspirations?: – CNN’s Candy Crowley pressing Obama budget director Jack Lew from the left on State of the Union, February 13, 2011.

“It’s probably less of a phony issue than a passe issue. This might have had some resonance had he done it early on, and he had a whole, you know, springtime to begin to, you know, chip away. The problem is, that the economy just came down on him.” – CNN’s Candy Crowley after the third presidential debate raised the issue of Obama’s friendship with radical Sixties bomber Bill Ayers, October 15, 2008.

“If you raised more than a quarter billion dollars in the primary season, would you limit yourself to $85 million in the fall campaign? Duh!” – CNN’s Candy Crowley’s spin when Obama decided to break his promise to abide by campaign spending limits to accept public financing, June 19, 2008.

I brought my daughter, you know, because I think this might be history.” – CNN’s Candy Crowley on American Morning, February 1, 2008.”

Obama DNC convention September 2, 2012, Obama house built on sand, Obama corruption past still haunts despite efforts to hide

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”…Matthew 7:24-27

“Why wasn’t Rod Blagojevich, Governor of IL, prosecuted before Tony Rezko, a businessman?”…Citizen Wells

“Why did Patrick Fitzgerald and the US Justice Department wait until December 2008 to arrest Rod Blagojevich?”…Citizen Wells

Just as Obama’s unwise “house of sand” economy has collapsed, symbolically, the sand sculpture bust of  Obama has been damaged by the water and wind.

From the Washington Times September 1, 2012.
“Rains wash away Mount Obama in Charlotte, N.C.”
“A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.

Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.

The sand sculpture was protected from above, and Mr. Obama’s face didn’t see too much damage. But the storm was so strong that its heavy winds blew the rain sideways, pelting the president’s right side and leaving the sand pockmarked and completely erasing his right elbow.

Democrats’ choice of Charlotte has drawn criticism from unions who don’t like North Carolina’s labor laws, and the state seems to be tilting away from Democrats politically.

The large Rushmore-style sculpture drew comparisons to Mr. Obama’s 2008 convention in Denver, when he accepted his party’s nomination on a stage that looked like a Greek temple.”

Deja vu for Obama Democrat Convention.

The Obama camp and mainstream media, in conjuction with the US Justice Department, spared Obama from more embarrassing questions about his ties to Chicago pay to play corruption with the delay of the arrest of Rod Blagojevich until after the 2008 election. This time around, the appeal process for Blagojevich has been delayed.

From Citizen Wells August 25, 2012.

“You have read it here at Citizen Wells for some time. The delays in prosecuting Rod Blagojevich were designed to protect Obama. You also read here that the appeal process for Blagojevich would drag on past the election. We now have more proof.”

“It’s been almost eight months since Blagojevich was sentenced on Dec. 7, 2011. His attorneys discussed how they’d appeal six days after that.

“Well there’s a tremendous amount of work to do now, we need to read through all the transcripts,” defense attorney Lauren Kaeseberg said. “There’s two trials, there’s a significant amount of work.”

“But FOX Chicago News learned that since then, that first key step toward an appeal – getting the 16,000 pages of transcripts – has not yet been accomplished.

“They have to file briefs. The briefs have to be based on alleged errors that occurred in the course of the trial,” Kent College of Law professor Richard Kling said. “Those errors, if they occurred, are reflected in the transcript.”

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals recently warned Kaeseberg that she could face monetary or disciplinary sanctions if she didn’t explain why the transcripts weren’t done yet.

Kaeseberg responded by producing these emails she had sent to Judge James Zagel’s court reporter, asking for the transcripts.

Finally, about two weeks ago, the court reporter filed her own motion asking for more time, saying she had taken a leave of absence for five and half months and has been swamped with work since her return.

She has now promised to have the transcripts done by late September, with any appellate review not likely for months after then.”

As you can see, appeals cases transcripts are expected to be produced in a timely fashion. There are numerous clearly defined rules for processing them. The responsibilities and contingencies are well covered.
So why is this possibly a perfect Chicago crime?

First of all, without a doubt, this protects Obama again during an election cycle. News from a Blagojevich appeal stays out of the media as does Blagojevich himself.

Secondly, this is another nail in the coffin of judicial misconduct during the Blagojevich prosecutions and another reason for an appeals court judge to throw out the convictions.

Who engineered these delays and who is responsible?”

“the Times of the nineteenth of December had published the official forecasts of the output of various classes of consumption goods in the fourth quarter of 1983, which was also the sixth quarter of the Ninth Three-Year Plan. Today’s issue contained a statement of the actual output, from which it appeared that the forecasts were in every instance grossly wrong. Winston’s job was to rectify the original figures by making them agree with the later ones.”…George Orwell, “1984”

In print in NC, the Rhino Times August 23, 2012.

“Four years ago the stars lined up for Obama. He got into the Democratic primary in order to get name recognition and maybe a slot in President Hillary Clinton’s cabinet. Then the accidental candidate won Iowa and realized that with one more primary win – South Carolina – he could be president.

Everyone loved Obama because of his unlikely story, and he gave great speeches. Some noticed that he didn’t really say anything in the speeches, but those who noticed were mostly Republicans and nobody paid any attention to them.

The media went gaga. They reported only the good stuff about Obama. And the Republicans couldn’t have helped more. They nominated an old worn-out, politically compromised senator who had been in Washington for so long he actually thought he could run with the same running mate as former Vice President Al Gore. Failing that he picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who, as it turned out, was a brilliant pick for about two weeks. But then McCain turned her over to the political buffoons who were running his campaign, and Katie Couric in one interview completely destroyed Palin’s credibility. But there you have it, the news media stepped in and did what Obama needed to have done to make certain he would win.

Apparently this election is going to be different. Newsweek has come out with a cover that reads, “Hit The Road Barack. Why We Need A New President.”

I subscribed to Newsweek for about 15 years. I stopped my subscription recently, and even when the renewals got down around $10 a year I refused to bite because I was tired of reading about the messiah who we had elected president. There was nothing that Obama could do that wasn’t wonderful in the eyes of Newsweek. Since I already receive White House press releases, Newsweek seemed redundant.

Now, Newsweek has on its cover that Obama must go and it is a well-written, factual article. The very fact that Obama cheerleader Paul Krugman felt the need to instantly challenge the article is evidence of its damaging effect.

The article goes through the promises that Obama made at his inauguration and how he has failed to keep them. The economy is the big issue. But there are others, like promising no middle-class tax increase when Obamacare is a huge tax increase on the middle class, and we know it is a tax because the Supreme Court said it was.

, , ,

Usually you have to wait until after the election for the dirt to come out about campaign staffs, but there is already an e-book out about the 2012 Obama campaign and how it is beginning to fall apart.

One of the passages in the book is about how Obama doesn’t make big economic decisions because he doesn’t understand what he is supposed to be deciding.

Obama has no knowledge or experience that would indicate that he understands economics at an international level. Obama thought there was such a thing as a “shovel ready” government project when he signed the $1 trillion stimulus package. It was only much later when the money wasn’t being spent that he found out that shovel-ready projects are a lot like unicorns, people may talk about them but you can’t really put your finger on one.

If the Obama 2012 campaign kickoff is a foreshadowing of things to come it is going to be a long fall for Obama. The kickoff did exactly what a campaign doesn’t want to ever do: It put the candidate in front of thousands of empty seats. Obama just doesn’t have the drawing power that he did and the campaign realized too late that despite all of their efforts they weren’t going to fill the arena.

It’s not the way you want to kick off a campaign. A candidate is better off speaking to a crowd of 200 in an overflowing room than a crowd of 10,000 in a 20,000-seat arena. That is campaigning 101. It wasn’t such a bad mistake but it is a sign that Obama’s 2012 campaign is not going to be anything like his 2008 campaign.

, , ,

If you are getting your news from ABC, it’s time to stop. The networks other than Fox all tilt strongly left, but ABC is willing to lie, or else is filled with total incompetence. All of us in the news business make mistakes. Last week we managed to misspell sheriff, but ABC has taken mistakes to a new level. First, it reported that the Aurora, Colorado, shooter was a member of the Tea Party. He wasn’t, but someone with a similar name was. This is a huge story and you simply don’t make that kind of mistake in an election year by accident. Second, when ABC called the shooter’s mother she said, “You have the right person,” meaning she was the mother of the young man they were asking about. ABC managed to interpret that to mean, “Yes, my son did the shooting,” which is a really bizarre interpretation and sounds a lot like the leaps of faith that the News & Record makes.

Third, ABC reported that filmmaker Tony Scott, who jumped to his death from a bridge in Los Angeles, had inoperable brain cancer. He did not. ABC, sadly, is simply putting rumors and innuendo on the air as news. Any of the three mistakes could be explained away, but all three is a pattern. Nobody is watching the store.

If you get your news from ABC try Fox for a while, at least until there is a housecleaning at ABC. Until they clean house, including getting rid of the parking lot attendant and the custodial service, they are going to keep having problems.”

The truth about Obama.

In print in NC from the Rhino Times, August 16, 2012.

“Four years ago President Barack Hussein Obama ran on “Hope” and “Change.” These are not policies and hardly qualify as slogans. When Obama was asked to flesh out the Change aspect of his campaign he provided the explanation, “Change you can believe in.”

In other words, Obama ran on pure charisma and won. If the economy had turned around, or if Obamacare were a popular program, Obama could run on his record. But the economy is still in the toilet and Obamacare is not popular with the majority of the American people.

It is such a radical program that Obama had a huge problem getting it through the Senate even though he didn’t need a single Republican vote.

And his new word, “Forward,” just doesn’t seem to be resonating with the American people.

Obama’s record of Change led to the Tea Party. And in the election of 2010 the Republicans beat the Democrats over the head with Obamacare, and the stimulus package with its shovel-ready sites. The results were a disaster for the Democratic Party. The Republicans won control of the House and came close in the Senate, which was a huge turnaround from the Hope and Change election of 2008, when Obama won a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

Obama also managed to do something that no politician of either party had been able to do for 140 years. Obama’s policies resulted in the Republicans winning control of the North Carolina state House and state Senate.

Obama can’t run on his record, which is a dismal failure, so he has to go negative, and he has certainly done that. The ad where Mitt Romney is implicated in the death of a woman because her husband lost his job and his health care is over the top; but it’s going to get worse. That, of course, is not technically a campaign ad, but the campaign knew about it and it went forward.

It is incredible, but many of those who support Obama don’t seem to understand business any better than he does. If you are buying companies in distress and hoping to turn them around, sometimes it isn’t going to work. Bain Capital had some huge successes, which is why Romney is worth a couple hundred million dollars; but they also had failures.

If every company was a guaranteed winner, we would all be buying companies and making money hand over fist. There is a lot of risk involved. Sometimes a company’s assets are worth more than the company itself. In that case you split it up and sell off the pieces. The reason some companies are not making money is that they have too many employees. In his successful ventures Romney created a lot of jobs, look at all the people that Staples employs, just to name one company. But companies also fail and people lose their jobs. That is business.

Obama, evidently having virtually no business experience, thinks that business is like government. Once you get hired, you have a job for life, even if you never do anything useful. As long as you don’t get caught using drugs at work or assaulting a fellow employee you have a job until you finally accept the unbelievably lucrative retirement that is being offered. The private sector just isn’t like that.”
“Romney is a serious guy. It’s one of the reasons he didn’t do better in the Republican primary debates. The pick of Ryan as his vice presidential running mate is a serious one. By choosing Ryan, Romney is saying he believes this race is about the economic future of the country. It’s the last thing Obama wanted to hear because the one area where he is weakest is in the area of the economy – unless you consider his disastrous foreign policy, or perhaps his health care plan that even hard-core Democrats don’t like. What about Obama’s plan for Afghanistan? It’s the war he said we should be fighting. How is that going?

Well, of all the areas in which Obama is weak, the economy is one of them.

Ryan has thick skin, has a lot of experience articulating his ideas and, according to a colleague in the House, knows more about the budget than the congressional staffers whose only job is to know the budget.

Even Erskine Bowles, who was President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton’s White House chief of staff, had nothing but wonderful things to say about Ryan before he became the vice presidential nominee. Of course, Bowles can’t be too pleased with Obama right now. Bowles took the job of developing a long-range budget plan, did the job he was asked to do and Obama has ignored it.

For Obama to attack Ryan, Obama has to talk about the budget, about Obamacare, about the Obama plan to cut $700 billion from Medicare. Ryan is going to be running all over the country giving articulate speeches that people can understand about what he believes needs to be done to get us out of the economy we are in and what to do long term to solve the budget crisis. The country cannot borrow money endlessly.

Obama can’t talk about Romney’s income taxes forever, or maybe he can.”

“I heard Obama speaking about all the jobs that he has created while president. I guess small business owners who paid employees out of their own pockets to get through the rough spots of this so-called recovery didn’t create those jobs, the government did.

But jobs have been created during Obama’s term in the White House. Obama can claim any number he wants because the answer to the question how many jobs is, “not nearly enough.” The 8.3 percent nationwide who are unemployed and still looking for work know that not enough jobs were created. Here in North Carolina the 9.4 percent who are unemployed and still looking for work know that Obama has not created enough jobs.

The problem is that given four more years, or 24 more years, Obama is not going to be able to create enough jobs. It takes entrepreneurs to create jobs, and those guys who put everything they have on the line for an idea deserve to be rewarded. Some entrepreneurs lose money for years, and if Obama gets his way when they start making money it will get taxed to the point where there isn’t much reason to make money.

Obama doesn’t understand that. He doesn’t understand that some small business owners make a lot of money one year – they may make well over $250,000 – but they also may not have made any money for the previous five years, or made far below minimum wage. Obama has no idea how business works. He thinks the government creates businesses.

But it’s not Obama’s fault. How would he know anything about business? He has no experience. He has been a community organizer, a US senator and now president. There just isn’t much business experience there.”

“The New York Times from cover to cover is in elect-Obama mode. Look at the so-called articles, actually editorials in sheep’s clothing, about the economy. Between now and the election the business section of The New York Times is evidently charged with finding the good news in every economic announcement or indicator. I liked this one: “A Hopeful Sign: Job Openings Rise.” Of course unemployment is up, not down. But The New York Times is going to be looking past the horse manure all over the place and desperately trying to find the pony in this economy.

It is reminiscent of the 1992 presidential race between George Herbert Walker Bush, who was the sitting president, and that upstart from Arkansas, Clinton. The recession actually ended in the spring, months before the election, but it didn’t get reported in the mainstream media until November, after the election.

The news media is extremely powerful, and with the notable exception of Fox and a few conservative newspapers, it is going to be an all out push for Obama.

It is another area in which Ryan helps Romney. Ryan is just a much better communicator and he has the ability to go past the mainstream media. He can do it with local stations and the morning talk shows. Ryan has no problem handling a room full of rabid journalists out to get his throat. In fact, it appears he enjoys it, which is not a surprise because it also appears he comes out on the winning end of those debates.”

Obama Occidental transcripts and scholarship facts, Truth about Obama full scholarship explored, Fake AP story emails clever diversion

“Why has Obama, since taking the White House, used Justice Department Attorneys, at taxpayer expense,  to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?”…Citizen Wells

“We have just gone through one of the most secretive administrations in our history, and not releasing, I think, these records at the same time, Hillary, as you’re making the claim that this is the basis for your experience, I think, is a problem.”…Barack Obama October 30, 2007

“We were both scholarship students,”Bill Snider, Obama Occidental classmate

When I first received notification about the alleged AP story about Occidental College releasing Obama’s transcipts, as I always do, I checked it out and found no reference to it with the Associated Press. I believe it was a clever diversion.

The question is, who created it.

The Obama camp is masterful at diversions and preemptively disarming controversies such as Obama’s drug use.

I believe this to be another example of attempting to disarm a story.

It is not going to work. The search for the truth will continue.

Here is some background on the controversy.

From the LA Times January 29, 2007.

“Occidental recalls ‘Barry’ Obama”

“U.S. Sen. Barack Obama is usually described as an alumnus of Columbia University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, and of Harvard Law School.

But the Illinois Democrat began his undergraduate education at Occidental, and the 1,825-student liberal arts college in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles isn’t shy about claiming him as an alumnus for his two years there (1979-81) on full scholarship.”

http://articles.latimes.com/2007/jan/29/local/me-oxy29

From Citizen Wells August 7, 2012.

“Downtown baker knew Obama way back when”

“Bill Snider bucked other classmates by calling him “Barack.”

“Everyone called him Barry,” Snider says. “I didn’t. I loved the name Barack.”

“Thirty years ago, Snider, who now owns Simple Kneads Bakery here, shared the proverbial battered collegiate sofa with Obama and others at Occidental College in Los Angeles.”

“We were both scholarship students,” says Snider, an Ohio native. “We came a great distance to Occidental. Neither of us had a father. My father died when I was 6. We were both broke.”

From Politico November 11, 2007.

“Obama records requests prove fruitless”

“On Friday, Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that she had asked Obama at a news conference: “Do your state senate papers still exist? If they do, just where are they? And would you ever intend to make them public to be responsive to some requests?”

Sweet wrote that he replied: “Nobody has requested specific documents.”

But the Chicago Tribune has reported that it “requested documents from his time in Springfield and never received a response.”

And Sweet wrote of her own paper, “The Chicago Sun-Times has also been asking about Obama’s papers.”

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1107/6821.html

As Obama began gaining in stature as a possible Democrat nominee, more questions were being asked about his past. Obama continued avoiding proving where he was born and providing records about his college years. He also minimized his contact with Tony Rezko, which was proven to be a lie during the Rezko Trial.

On August 21, 2008, attorney Phillip J. Berg filed a lawsuit requesting proof of Obama’s eligibility for the presidency and for copies of Obama’s records.

In Berg’s Motion for Expedited Discovery he requests:

“Any and all college applications and records, including but not
limited to Occidental College, Harvard College, Harvard Law
School, University of Chicago, Columbia and any other colleges
which Defendant Obama applied at;”

From the New American December 2, 2008.

“This story has gained credence, separating it from Internet rumors, because Obama has reputedly hired three law firms (firms, not lawyers) to make sure that
no one gets access to his birth records in Hawaii or his college transcripts from Occidental College and Harvard. (It is speculated that the transcripts will
show he applied for aid to foreign students.)”

“Alan Keyes, a presidential candidate of the American Independent Party, and Markham Robinson, a California elector, have now sued to see Obama’s birth
certificate (these men would definitely have legal “standing” to sue as plaintiffs in this case).”

Alan Keyes, et al attempt to subpoena Obama’s Occidental Records January 15, 2009.

Obama’s attorney.

The Fake AP article was dated April 1, 2009.

Snopes correctly debunks the article email as not originating from the AP and provides the following info.

“Barack Obama attended Occidental College in California for two years as an undergraduate from 1979-81 under the name Obama, not Soetoro (the latter is the surname of his Indonesian stepfather, Lolo Soetoro):

Jim Tranquada, Occidental’s Director of Communications, said: “Contemporary public documents, such as the freshman ‘Lookbook’ [a guide distributed to incoming freshman] published at the beginning of President Obama’s first year at Occidental, list him as Barack Obama. All of the Occidental alumni I have spoken to from that era (1979-81) who knew him, knew him as Barry Obama.””

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthers/occidental.asp

FactCheck.org provided a very misleading if not false statement.

“Claim #15, foreign student aid. The claim that Obama got “foreign student aid” is untrue. That wild falsehood began as an absurd April Fools’ Day hoax in
2009, which we quickly exposed.”

http://factcheck.org/2012/07/obamas-sealed-records/

Wrong! Since FactCheck.org nor anyone else that I am aware of has seen Obama’s Occidental Transcripts, we do not know if he received foreign student aid. We only know that the alleged AP article was faked and that Obama continues to hide his records.

To this date Obama has used private attorneys such as Fredric Woocher and Robert Bauer to keep his records hidden.

More damning for Obama is that he has also used US Justice Department Attorneys, at taxpayer expense, to keep his records hidden.

Here is a list of some of the US Justice Department attorneys who have assisted Obama in keeping his records hidden. Their representation of Obama is a matter of public record. This list does not include the support staffs.

Many of the references to Obama’s birthplace leading up to 2008 stated that Obama was born in Kenya.

And recently we learned.

“Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama’s then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”

The booklet, which was distributed to “business colleagues” in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.”

Real reporting about Obama, in print, in NC,

From John Hammer of the Rhino Times August 9, 2012.

“The presidential campaign is still not officially underway – since neither candidate is the official candidate of their party until after the party conventions – and it is already ugly and is going to get worse. Obama, with an unemployment rate of 8.3 percent, cannot run on his record. He spent the $1 trillion in stimulus money to get the unemployment rate down and it didn’t work. If Obama talks about the $1 trillion in stimulus he opens the door for a mistake that he has admitted to making – there is no such thing as a shovel-ready project. So the $1 trillion that was for shovel-ready projects was for fantasy projects. It reminds voters how little Obama knows about how the government works, how business works or, really, how anything other than a political campaign works. And the indications are that he really doesn’t understand political campaigns either.

Four years ago Obama ran what appeared to be a flawless political campaign, but in retrospect it appears that he was running against a Republican that all the other Republicans had beaten when he ran in his campaign mode. It was only when he ran as Sen. John McCain that anyone could tolerate him. When McCain went back to being the Republican presidential candidate, instead of himself, he had already lost. Also Obama could have been caught in the act with a creature from outer space and the media would not have reported it. How many photos did you see of Obama smoking? Do you think the media would have run photos of Sarah Palin smoking if they had them? The media was only going to report good things about Obama and they did. It is why we still know so little about Obama.

The only real source of information we had about Obama was his own book, and then we found out that it is far from a memoir in that he has a composite girlfriend. If the press vetted Obama at all we would know whether or not he was really Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s protégé as he once said, or was he just someone who attended that church on occasion because of its political clout in the black community in Chicago. If he was a protégé then Obama needs to explain when he realized that Wright’s racist rants against white people in general and Jews in particular went too far and he decided not to be a follower.

If the truth is that he was never really a follower of Wright’s, and that is the only church he has ever been a member of according to his book, is he really a Christian? He wasn’t raised as Christian. Neither of his parents were Christians. If Wright did not bring him to Christ, who did? And why did he decide not to practice his religion in a formal manner while president.

These are the kinds of questions that you would expect to have answers to about the president of the United States, but evidently asking any question about Obama that he has not already answered is wrong.

, , ,

Along those same lines, it is no surprise, but worth noting, that the mainstream media have become even more liberal and partisan. Back in 2010 and even 2011, with the election at least a year away, the mainstream media were willing to be critical of Obama and to admit that whoever the Republican nominee was that he or she might have some redeeming qualities.

Now that the election is less than three months away, the mainstream media pundits are back to proclaiming Obama the messiah, and Mitt Romney is just some rich guy who inherited a bunch of money, has never really done anything and now wants to buy the presidency. Four years ago when Obama raised more money than any presidential candidate ever had it was because he had the support of the people. Now that Romney is raising more money month after month than Obama it is because Romney is rich. It’s amazing how things get reported.

, , ,

One thing that has changed in this election is that no one can argue that Obama doesn’t have the experience to be president. He now has more experience than anyone still in the game. He will soon be tied with both George Herbert Walker Bush, and James Earl Carter Jr., but it is unlikely that either one of them will decide to run for another term.

Experience was a good issue for Republicans in 2008, since Obama had not completed a full term in the US Senate and had never been the chief executive of anything other than the Harvard Law Review and his own political campaigns, both of which are a little different from being president. But this time around Romney’s experience running a business, running a state and running the Olympics are all good preparation but Obama has him beat when it comes to experience being president.

Now it is easy to argue that Obama’s experience as president proves that he shouldn’t serve another term, because he hasn’t been able to get the economy back on track. It will be interesting to see what the real numbers are for the economy when the election is over. It will be a real surprise if the figures released by the government are not revised in November after the election.

I have no doubt that the government in late November will reveal that the economy is in worse shape than the figures released earlier would indicate. Unemployment will turn out to be higher and economic growth will turn out to be lower, and not reporting it earlier was simply due to an unfortunate mathematical error.”

“I am convinced that if squirrels had opposable thumbs, that based on their superior intellect, they would be overqualified to be journalists in the mainstream media”…Citizen Wells

Stronger job creation could help President Barack Obama’s reelection hopes.

Well duh, if we actually had stronger job creation and someone in the White House who gets it, and an honest media to report the facts, economic conditions in this country would improve and everyone would be happier.

But for the moment, we don’t.

From Breitbart August 3, 2012.

“AP: ‘STRONGER JOB CREATION COULD HELP OBAMA’S RE-ELECTION'”

“That headline is not made up, it comes from a quote from the very same Associated Press that just last week completely fabricated Mitt Romney’s Palestinian ‘gaffe’. Today the AP is spinning a rise in unemployment and a measly 165,000 jobs created as the kind of “stronger job creation” that could win Their Precious One reelection.

The writer of this nonsense is Christopher S. Rugaber and the shilling is nothing more than propaganda. Rugaber not only wrist-flicks the second uptick in unemployment in just a few month, he tries to pretend the increase is statistically meaningless.

Emphasis mine:

Stronger job creation could help President Barack Obama’s re-election hopes. Still, the unemployment rate has been above 8 percent since his first month in office — the longest stretch on record. No president since World War II has faced re-election with unemployment over 8 percent. …

The government uses two surveys to measure employment. A survey of businesses showed job gains. The unemployment rate comes from a survey of households, which showed fewer people had jobs. Economists say the business survey is more reliable.

Not that any of this surprises me, but watching the media hit new low after new low is nonetheless amusing.

In my lifetime, this is without a doubt the first time the media has ever celebrated a rise in the unemployment rate as a good thing.

Drudge was the first to find this AP story and includes the rare comment on his site:

THEY BOTH CANT BE RIGHT:

Reuters: Labor market slowed sharply after strong gains in winter, spelling trouble for Obama…

AP: Stronger job creation could help Obama’s re-election hopes…

And it’s only August.”

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/08/03/AP-Says-Unemployment-increase-good-for-obama

On August 3, 2012 the US Labor Department reported the following:

Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 163,000 in July.

The unemployment rate is 8.3 percent.

The labor force participation rate is 63.7 percent.

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

The unemployment rate rose .1 percent in July and .1 percent dropped out of the labor force. Those are large numbers of people not employed. Do the math.

On August 2, 2012 the US Labor Department reported the following:

“In the week ending July 28 the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 365,000, an increase of 8,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 357,000. The 4-week moving average was 365,500, a decrease of 2,750 from the previous week’s revised average of 368,250.”

http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/ui/current.htm

Using the 4 week moving average of 365,500 times 4, we get a general idea of jobs lost during July.

From the the US Labor Department.

“What do the unemployment insurance (UI) figures measure?

The UI figures are not produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Statistics on insured unemployment in the United States are collected as a by-product of UI programs. Workers who lose their jobs and are covered by these programs typically file claims (“initial claims”) that serve as notice that they are beginning a period of unemployment. Claimants who qualify for benefits are counted in the insured unemployment figures (as “continued claims”). Data on UI claims are maintained by the Employment and Training Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Labor, and are available on the Internet at: workforcesecurity.doleta.gov/unemploy/claims.asp.

Some countries base their estimates of total unemployment on the number of persons filing claims for or receiving UI payments or the number of persons registered with government employment offices as available for work. These data are also available in the United States, but they are not used to measure total unemployment because they exclude several important groups. To begin with, not all workers are covered by UI programs. For example, self-employed workers, unpaid family workers, workers in certain not-for-profit organizations, and several other small (primarily seasonal) worker categories are not covered.

In addition, the insured unemployed exclude the following:

  1. Unemployed workers who have exhausted their benefits
  2. Unemployed workers who have not yet earned benefit rights (such as new entrants or reentrants to the labor force)
  3. Disqualified workers whose unemployment is considered to have resulted from their own actions rather than from economic conditions; for example, a worker discharged for misconduct on the job
  4. Otherwise eligible unemployed persons who do not file for benefits

Because of these and other limitations, statistics on insured unemployment cannot be used as a count of total unemployment in the United States. Indeed, during 2008, only 36 percent of the total unemployed received UI benefits. The weekly data on UI claims do have important uses, however, and provide a timely indicator on labor market conditions.”

http://www.bls.gov/cps/cps_htgm.htm#ui

The AP, Associated Press, is awarded 4 Orwells for their pro Obama bias and attempt to misrepresent the unemployment situation with the jobs added. The reason the AP did not receive 5 Orwells is because they included the unemployment rate.

From WND July 22, 2012.

“PROOF! ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA CONTROLLED”
“There was a rather low-key confession made in the New York Times last week that deserves to be blared throughout this country so that every American understands what they are reading in the establishment’s ultra-controlled, government-managed “press” – and I use that last word loosely indeed.

The admission came in the form of a story by Jeremy Peters on the politics page of the Times July 16. I’ve been waiting for others to point it out, discuss it, debate it, express shock and exasperation over it. But I’ve waited for naught.

What this shocking story reveals is that even I – one of the kingpins of the new media and a refugee from the state-controlled spin machine – underestimated the utter and total corruption of the euphemistically called “mainstream press.”

It shows that most – not some – members of the print media establishment with access to the White House submit their copy to government officials for review, “correction” and approval before it reaches the American people!”

Here are some key excerpts from the piece, if you think I’m exaggerating:

  • “The quotations come back redacted, stripped of colorful metaphors, colloquial language and anything even mildly provocative.”
  • “They are sent by e-mail from the Obama headquarters in Chicago to reporters who have interviewed campaign officials under one major condition: the press office has veto power over what statements can be quoted and attributed by name.”
  • “Most reporters, desperate to pick the brains of the president’s top strategists, grudgingly agree. After the interviews, they review their notes, check their tape recorders and send in the juiciest sound bites for review. The verdict from the campaign – an operation that prides itself on staying consistently on script – is often no, Barack Obama does not approve this message.”
  • “Now, with a millisecond Twitter news cycle and an unforgiving, gaffe-obsessed media culture, politicians and their advisers are routinely demanding that reporters allow them final editing power over any published quotations.”
  • “Quote approval is standard practice for the Obama campaign, used by many top strategists and almost all mid-level aides in Chicago and at the White House – almost anyone other than spokesmen who are paid to be quoted. (And sometimes it applies even to them.) It is also commonplace throughout Washington and on the campaign trail.”
  • “Many journalists spoke about the editing only if granted anonymity, an irony that did not escape them.”
  • “From Capitol Hill to the Treasury Department, interviews granted only with quote approval have become the default position. Those officials who dare to speak out of school, but fearful of making the slightest off-message remark, shroud even the most innocuous and anodyne quotations in anonymity by insisting they be referred to as a ‘top Democrat’ or a ‘Republican strategist.’”
  • “Those [reporters] who did speak on the record said the restrictions seem only to be growing. ‘It’s not something I’m particularly proud of because there’s a part of me that says, Don’t do it, don’t agree to their terms,’ said Major Garrett, a correspondent for The National Journal.”
  • “It was difficult to find a news outlet that had not agreed to quote approval, albeit reluctantly. Organizations like Bloomberg, The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Reuters and The New York Times have all consented to interviews under such terms.”

Greensboro News Record job article misleading, Orwell exuberance or Democrat pressure?, Manufacturing, jobs up in Triad, Economist Don Jud quoted

Greensboro News Record job article misleading, Orwell exuberance or Democrat pressure?, Manufacturing, jobs up in Triad, Economist Don Jud quoted

“The United States economy has lost more jobs than it has added since the recovery began over a year ago.”…NY Times Sept. 20, 2010.

“Guilford (Large NC County) appears on it’s way to a third consecutive year with annual jobless rates in double digits. Economists say that likely hasn’t happened since the Great Depression.”…Greensboro News Record December 2, 2011

Winston’s job was to rectify the original figures by making them agree with the later ones.”…George Orwell, “1984″

Donald Patterson and the Greensboro News Record have done a decent job lately of reporting the facts on the NC jobs situation. However, yesterday, June 19, 2012, the front page headline stated:

“Manufacturing, jobs up in Triad”

and the article quoted economist Don Jud to paint a rather rosy picture of the job situation in the triad (largest city Greensboro). Any good news is welcome but this had too close a ring to Obama touting jobs created while omitting the jobs lost and drop in labor force participation rate.

From the Greensboro News Record June 18, 2012.

“It’s not often that our part of the world comes in first in anything . But economist Don Jud has found an example. And it’s a biggie.

In recent months, Jud says, the Greensboro-High Point metro area has far outpaced state and national averages for employment growth in goods production.

That means companies in Guilford, Rockingham and Randolph counties, which make up the local metro area, are hiring people to make stuff.

“That’s the best news I know,” Jud said.

But there’s just one problem: Jud and others can’t say with any certainty why we’re doing so much better than everyone else.

“I think I have spotted a trend,” said Jud, who defined goods-producing jobs as those in construction and manufacturing. “Why it is ongoing and how likely it is to continue, I really don’t know.”

Jud said that from April 2011 to April 2012, goods-producing employment in the area increased 6 percent. That compares to a 1.8 percent growth rate nationally and just 0.2 percent for North Carolina.

During those 12 months, Jud said, employment in the local metro has grown by 5,200 jobs, with more than 75 percent of that coming from the goods-producing sector.

Area people involved in economic development welcomed the surge.”

http://www.news-record.com/content/2012/06/18/article/manufacturing_jobs_up_in_triad

Now compare the above to the tone of a June report by Economist Don Jud.

“Tracking the Triad Economy

The recovery from the most recent recession which began in July 2009 has generated a very anemic rate of employment growth over the past 34 months. Nationally, employment is up just 2.2% since the recovery began, which is even slower than the tepid 2.3% pace of employment growth registered during the previous two recoveries. In North Carolina, the employment recovery has been even slower, with employment growing just 2.1%. The pace of the employment recovery in the state is much slower than the average 4.2% increase recorded during the first 34 months of recovery following the previous two recessions.

Since the recovery began, employment is up in 9 of the state’s 14 metropolitan areas, but it is lower in 5 areas. The most rapid rate of employment growth has been recorded in Raleigh, with a gain of 4.6%. It is followed by Burlington and Charlotte with gains of 3.9% and 3.8% respectively. The biggest decline in employment was registered in Durham, where employment is down 1.8% since the start of the recovery. It was followed by Rocky Mount with a drop of 1.3%.

The Triad as a whole (which subsumes the Burlington, Greensboro/High Point, and Winston-Salem MSAs) has recorded a 1.2% rate of employment growth since the onset of the current recovery, lagging both the state and the nation.”

http://www.uncg.edu/bae/tbi/gdp-triad.htm

Recently I applauded the Charlotte Observer for presenting factual data on jobs.

“Only 1,400 more people had jobs in April. More than 11,000 people left the labor force in April compared to May, the figures show. More than 21,000 people had joined the North Carolina labor force since April a year ago.”

https://citizenwells.wordpress.com/2012/06/15/nc-unemployment-rate-june-15-2012-may-rate-dropping-rates-due-to-people-leaving-workforce-labor-force-participation-rate-charlotte-observer/

From the Greensboro News Record June 16, 2012.

“North Carolina’s unemployment rate was unchanged last month at 9.4 percent, breaking a four-month streak of declining unemployment rates, state officials said toay.

The total number of unemployed North Carolinians dropped by almost 4,000 people, but the rate remained the same because the size of the work force got smaller.

The rate was previously unwavering at 10.7 percent between July and September, but had been gradually declining since October.

North Carolina’s May unemployment rate is 1.1 percentage points lower than its May 2011 rate. The state fares worse than the national rate, which rose slightly to 8.2 percent in May.

“The NC state economy is continuing to not grow at a sufficient enough rate to put much of a dent in the unemployment rate,” said Harry Davis, professor of banking at Appalachian State University. “We simply are not creating enough jobs to lower the unemployment rate and absorb people entering the labor force.”

The largest job creation was in the Trade, Transportation and Utilities sector, which added nearly 2,000 jobs. Government jobs slightly declined by about 700 positions. Davis noted continued declines in the construction and leisure sectors as particularly problematic.

“It’s not making the comeback needed to get the unemployment rate down very much,” Davis said of the construction industry. “It continues to flounder, and if it wasn’t for apartment buildings there wouldn’t be much going on right now.”

The size of the work force in North Carolina continues to shrink. Nearly 10,000 workers left the labor force between April and May.

“Unfortunately, I believe we’re going to live with an unemployment rate in the 9 percents for quite some time, at least for the rest of the year,” Davis said. “Hopefully, that’s not the new norm.””

http://www.news-record.com/content/2012/06/15/article/state_unemployment_rate_holds_steady_in_may

My impression was that the News Record article was placed at the top of the front page to prop up the economy  and Obama, as a kind of peace offering for telling the truth in previous months. Or perhaps it was just exuberance over good news.

Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to be correct; nor was any item of news, or expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to be on record.”…George Orwell, “1984″

“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed
–if all records told the same tale–then the lie passed into
history and became truth. “Who controls the past,” ran the
Party slogan, “controls the future: who controls the present
controls the past.”…George Orwell, “1984″

The results of the Sheriff Joe Arpaio Hawaii and other locations investigation of Obama’s birth certificate, Selective Service Application and other records will be presented soon. Mike Zullo, Cold Case Commander, was recently interviewed. This is one of the best video presentations that I have encountered.

The usual Orwellian mouthpieces for the Obama Administration were exposed and a few others written about here.

Real journalist Lou Dobbs contrasted with Big Brother spokesman Bill O’Reilly.

I questioned the Jana Winter Fox story about Jean-Claude Tremblay the Adobe-certified expert before I discovered he repudiated Winter’s version.

From Citizen Wells April 30, 2011.

“I am a computer and business systems expert. Of the many aspects of computer systems and data I was involved in, I worked for a software company in the early 1980′s that dealt with OCR software and readers. I provided my analysis of the document placed on WhiteHouse.gov yesterday.

“When you view the document placed on WhiteHouse.gov remember it was computer generated. It is not an image file of a complete original birth certificate. It is a composite of data entered into a database(s) in the Hawaii computer systems. The data is as good as the source and the procedures and personnel who controlled the entry and maintained the integrity. From a legal standpoint it proves, if authenticated as having come from the state of Hawaii, that Obama is a US Citizen. It does not prove that he is a natural born citizen.””

“The article heading is at least misleading or an outright lie.

“Expert: No Doubt Obama’s Birth Certificate Is Legit”

  • Jean-Claude Tremblay ia a Adobe-certified expert. He only addressed the issue of document manipulation.
  • No mention was made of whether or not Tremblay was a birth certificate expert.
  • Tremblay has not been given access to an original birth certificate.
  • Tremblay did not say that the document was an authenticate presentation of Obama’s original birth certificate.

Why does the article contain these statements?

“Expert: No Doubt Obama’s Birth Certificate Is Legit”

“But a leading software expert says there’s no doubt about its authenticity, and he dismisses claims of fraud as flat-out wrong.”

A disturbing trend has developed at Fox. Bill O’Reilly misled the American people for several years by stating that he had done research and that Obama was born in Hawaii. We recently got confirmation that he relied on the birth announcements. Now Jana Winter misrepresents what the Adobe software expert has said.

Did Fox make a deal with the devil?”

Remember John Woodman?

From Citizen Wells September 2, 2011.

“Mr. Woodman spends much of his efforts trying to debunk the layers and anomalies pointed out by others. He may be correct about some of his assertions. His explanation for most of this is a software program. By doing so, he is in fact proving that the image is not a photostatic copy.

He further compares the image to that of certified copies for the Nordyke twins. He states that they are from the same type of forms. However, the biggest difference between the 2 images is that the Nordyke twins certificates have a stamped seal and verbage that states:

“This certifies that the above is a true and correct copy of the original record on file.”

The WhiteHouse.com image has the following:

“I certify this is a true copy or abstract of the record on file in the Hawaii State Department of health.”  Alvin T. Onaki, Ph.D.

Abstract: “The term abstract is subject to different meanings, but in a legal sense, it refers to an abbreviated history of an official record.””

“From commenter Pete:

“Citizen Wells,
No expert can verify an internet document as legitimate, but you can declare it a fraud. Hawaiian law states that public display of private records removes the Hawaiian obligation to protect them. Simply put, if Obama displays his Birth Certificate copy on the internet or on a Federal Government website, he has no right to privacy.

Here are undisputed facts:
1. The Federal Government, via the Executive Branch, has published a Document they claim is Obama’s Hawaiian BC. Not disputed.
2. There is no legal chain of Custody for the document published by the White House.
3. The DoH (Department of Health) in Hawaii REFUSED a legal subpeona to review the Document by experts in person after pre-arrangements had been made.””

To the mainstream media, to CNN, To Fox News, to Soledad O’Brien, to Bill O’Reilly, to Wolf Blitzer, et al. You are awarded 5 Orwells for your Orwellian behaviour in propping up the Obama Administration and attacking anyone who challenges Obama.

Thanks to commenter Ron.

God bless Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

God bless Lou Dobbs.
