(CNN) – Rick Perry led the pack of Republican presidential candidates among Republican and Republican leaning voters in another national survey released Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac University poll showed the Texas Gov. and newcomer to the 2012 race with 24 percent, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 18 percent, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with 11 percent, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann with ten percent and Texas Rep. Ron Paul with nine percent. The remaining candidates received five percent or below.

  2. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Elections/President/2011/0831/Why-Rick-Perry-is-downplaying-his-front-runner-status

A wave of national polls has put Texas Gov. Rick Perry firmly in first place for the Republican presidential nomination, just 2-1/2 weeks since he entered the race.

The latest poll, from CNN/ORC, puts Governor Perry in the lead among GOP voters with 27 percent. And if former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani don’t run, support for Perry leaps to 37 percent, followed by 18 percent for former Massachusetts Gov. (and former front-runner) Mitt Romney, 12 percent for Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, and single digits or less for everyone else.

But the Perry campaign is playing it low-key. “The only poll that matters is on Election Day,” Perry spokesman Mark Miner tells reporters.

    President Obama

Announcing it’s “not her lucky day,” a federal judge in Washington, D.C., has told an eligibility attorney he has dismissed her case demanding information from the Social Security Administration regarding President Obama’s Social Security number, sought because of suspicions it may be fraudulent.

Matt Macowiak, a GOP strategist with ties to Texas, told RTTNews that he sees the GOP nomination fight turning into a prolonged slog between Romney and Perry – a fight he sees Perry ultimately winning.

Perry, Macowiak said, is one of the few GOP contenders that can challenge Romney’s proven fundraising record, and Perry’s skill at accumulating cash gives him a chance against Romney’s ability to pour his own funds into the campaign. What’s more, according to Macowiak, the other contenders in the GOP field are far more likely to back Perry than Romney, making him the more likely consensus candidate down the road.

Michele Bachmann may be the head of the Tea Party Caucus in Congress, but Rick Perry is the “tea party’s” presidential favorite, according to a new Gallup poll.

Thirty-five percent of Republican voters who support the tea party movement told Gallup last week that they prefer Perry out of a field of eight GOP presidential contenders. By comparison, just 14% favored Bachmann.

  7. On the post & email web site, there is an article that says Cody Judy is running as a democrat in the primary against the usurper and he will use the eligibility question against the usurper. 9. http://www.irishcentral.com/story/news/people_and_politics/romney-wins-iowa-debate-and-only-rick-perry-can-stop-him-127577898.html

Romney has clearly decided that it is the economy stupid and that he will not be drawn into personal battles with the other contenders.

He is telegenic, smart, looks the part and has hardly a hair out of place in contrast to several others who seem to flail away with Gingrich the worst in that regard.

His attack on the media was a predictable as it was lame. A once powerful icon of the Republican Party is going down to ignominius defeat before our eyes.

As for Michele Bachmann I already have the sense she is yesterday’s gal. The crazed looking cover in Newsweek, those attacks on her migraines and her husbands dotty ‘treatment’ plans for Gays has harmed her in the eyes of ordinary Americans.

The one misisng presence of course was Rick Perry and he will be Romney’s greatest rival it is now obvious.

As for the others they are really a nondescript lot, out of their depth at this level. Jon Hunstsman might be good but he seems far too mild-mannered for the red meat eaters in the GOP these days. Herman Cain rants about everything and should go back to making pizza.

Rick Santorum looks like a choir boy that lost his way to church and wandered into the debate. Ron Paul is a nice man but utterly off the wall withh his talk of a gold standard and no US Army.

My takeaway? it is Romney’s to lose and only Perry can stop him.

  10. Being the CEO of Godfather’s Pizza is only one portion of this distinguished man’s biography. They keep repeating the “making pizza” line to minimize the man.

As far as I can tell Herman Cain has the most detailed plan with respect to tax reform in the current field. He also has outlined his plan to “re-patriate” corporate earnings to bring that money back home.

Herman Cain is no wild eyed bs’er. People should support whom they feel most comfortable with in these primaries, but minimizing the rest of the field with inflammatory caricatures is counter productive to our party and plays right into the hands of our opponents.

  11. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/aug/29/why-mitt-romney-will-fail

First, if outspoken outliers such as Perry and Bachmann continue to do well in the modern Republican party, there is no longer a “next in line” theory of nominations. And, specifically to Romney, there’s this: voters’ familiarity with his name has failed to make him especially loved: of the announced presidential candidates, Romney has the highest name recognition but lowest “positive intensity” score, as tracked by Gallup. Mitt Romney belongs to a select group of politicians that fails to excite the emotions of the population either direction. (His fellow hopefuls, however, experience no such ambivalence: they loathe him.)

There is a name for this set of candidates: losers. Pundits’ predictions that Romney’s New England ties – he owns a summer home in New Hampshire in addition to having served in neighbouring Massachusetts – will clinch him the New Hampshire primary seem to gloss over the failure of those ties to make much of a difference in 2008. New Hampshire voters knew Mitt Romney then, and refused to vote for him. (Hint: pundits who think having a summer home in a state connects a politician to voters probably have spent too much time in their own vacation manses.)

  16. Playboy bunnies are coming to mainstream TV this fall. I find that to be disgusting. Young women should not have to see that on TV. They should not aspire to be bunnies and sex toys. That is what Obama’s liberal agenda and his supporters have led us to. I would much rather have female role models running for President. America should want the best for all of its citizens, male and female.

  17. http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2011/08/31/rick-perry-promises-pro-life-vice-president-

Surging Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry, the Texas governor, has pledged to influential Christian leaders that he will push pro-life policies, oppose gay marriage, and pick cabinet officials and a vice president who share his values, a promise that would rule out a Perry-Rudy Giuliani ticket.

  18. I hope President Rick Perry cleans up Hollywood and the liberal media while he’s at it.

  19. A Federal Judge, Royce Lamberth, ruled in Washington DC, in reference to Obama’s use of an illegal social security number by stating;

“There is no need or real interest in determining wheather the Obama Social Security number is genuine or fraudulant, and the need for secrecy for the president trumps all else”.

I cannot believe our country has stooped so low that no one in a position of authority is willing to stop this insanity and stand to be counted. Judge Royce Lamberth has disgraced his oath to the Constitution and should be removed from the bench.

Other than voicing our concerns freely over the internet in websites like this, exactly where can a common citizen turn for redress of criminal conduct that has engulfed our government and this once great nation.

We can’t expect the ‘FOURTH ESTATE” to be the standard bearer of truth any more. All major news medias are owned by only five large cooperations, who have defense contracts for the government and are part of the “deep pockets” military/industrial system. So don’t expect the news anchors to cut their own throats.

We can’t expect any justice from our JUDICIAL SYSTEM, be it federal, state, or local. Every case of corruption brought to any court has been thrown out for a “lack of standing”, or it “may be an embarassment to the president”. At the national level, we have an Attorney General who was part of a gun smuggling operation designed to cause a civil war in a foreign country, but has also caused deaths of federal agents within the borders of our own country.

We can’t expect our elected POLITICIANS to deal with the corruption that is openly displayed on a daily basis in Washington. They appear to run and hide when confronted with the truth. Immigration is a fine example of their neglect. States and local governments are stopped when they attempt to solve problems at their level that the federal government has ignored.

The top brass of our MILITARY has amply demonstrated they “do not the guts” to tackle the obvious glaring illegal leader who has his finger on the button of all the weapons of mass destruction on our country. So wars are being fought and young men are dying all over the world because of an illegal Commander-in-Chief.

So, cutting the chase and get to the bottom line leaves us with one burning question:

WHERE CAN THE LAWFUL PEOPLE TURN WHEN ALL LEGAL AVENUES FOR RELIEF AND REDRESS ARE DENIED THEM?

Answer: They have no place to turn. They are slaves who refuse to acknowledge their status. The pages of history are full of answers that other oppressed peoples have taken. Will it come to that for the American people ?

  25. Rush just announced that bo wants to schedule his next BS speech about “jobs” to be before a joint session of congress on Sept. 7, at the same time as the Republican debate.

  26. http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2011/08/31/140087053/obamas-address-to-joint-session-would-be-same-time-as-gop-debate

President Obama just told House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) that he wants to address a joint session of Congress on Sept. 7, at 8 p.m. ET, to lay out his latest jobs plan.

Worth noting: 8 p.m. ET is also the planned starting time for the Sept. 7 Republican candidates presidential debate at the Reagan Library in California.

  27. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2011/08/obama-to-address-congress-on-sept-7/1

President Obama plans to propose his new jobs plan in a prime time address to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 7, a week from today.

That’s also the same night as a scheduled debate among the Republican candidates who would like to replace Obama — and both are currently set to start at 8 p.m., eastern, on Wednesday.

In requesting the time from congressional leaders, Obama said in a letter that the nation faces “unprecedented economic challenges” and “millions of hardworking Americans continue to look for jobs.”

“Washington needs to put aside politics and start making decisions based on what is best for our country and not what is best for each of our parties in order to grow the economy and create jobs. We must answer this call,” Obama wrote.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Obama wanted to address Congress because it will need to pass legislation on the jobs package. “The venue is appropriate because of the action that needs to be taken,” Carney said.

Carney said aides were aware of the Republican debate, currently scheduled for the Ronald Reagan library in southern California and set to be televised by MSNBC. Carney said many political (and television) schedules had to be taken into account in planning the speech, and Wednesday is the best day.

The proximity of the Republican debate is “coincidental,” Carney said, adding that “there’s never a perfect date.”

  28. The Republicans should boycott bo’s speech, if boehner caves and schedules a joint session.

  29. http://www.politico.com/politico44/perm/0811/a_question_of_timing_370151e1-8b24-4482-800c-1c43a65c1485.html

The White House suggested Wednesday that the hosts of next week’s GOP presidential debate can change the time by an hour so it doesn’t interfere with President Obama’s planned jobs speech to Congress.

POLITICO and NBC are hosting a Republican debate Sept. 7 at 8 p.m., the same time the White House said Obama asked Congress to make an address.

Asked about the timing on Wednesday, press secretary Jay Carney said, “It is coincidental.”

“There are a lot of factors that go into scheduling a speech before Congress, a joint session,” he said. “You can never find a perfect time. … There are many channels, there are many opportunities for people to watch the president, and obviously for people to watch the debate.”

Asked later if the interruption is then an “added bonus” for the White House, Carney suggested that isn’t the case. “There’s one president, there’s 20-some-odd debates,” he said.

“There are many opportunities for the American people. There’s a choice they can make to watch the president, to watch the debate,” he said. “A network could make a decision to alter the timing of the debate by an hour.”

Carney later elaborated, saying that if “sponsors chose and the candidates so chose to adjust the timing of their debate … that would be completely fine with us, in the spirit of democracy.”

  30. Pro-Dems, Pro-media and Pro Socialists are pushing hard for the Republican party and voting citizens to quickly accept Gov. Perry as the next Presidential Candidate. Vastly throwing out polls in agreement, likability, and wonderful achievements throughout all blogs and various media outlets, all the while omitting baggage for the time being, until after being accepted. There is an obvious sound logical reason, especially the current silence of the media and support thereof.

Nevertheless, Gov. Perry is far too Pro-Muslim indoctrination of our educational systems for teachers and children, Pro-Muslim sympathizer whist avoiding Pro-Christianity (the actual founding of this Country), yet attempts – as all career politicians do so well – play “Both” sides of the Constitutional fence. There is only One side of a righteous constitutional fence, not two. Is that the sign of a Constitutionalists, obligated to his oath of office and limited powers of government? Certainly not.

This is a stigma out of the Karl Rove “electability” playbook being used to make benign and omit, any worthy constitutional challenge to the oval office that would certainly challenge the veracity of Obama’s claims to the white house in its infant stages, Neil and moot, thus validating his usurpation, never to be viewed nor investigated thereafter. Nay is the prominent sayer of any of those that promote such a violation of our great Country to promote any deviation of candidacy for such prestige office of accountability.

To date, I am amazed that “he who shall not be named in this blog”, was raised, in youth and adulthood, pro-democrat socialist, belonging to such said party all his life, ran upon such tickets for political office on said party affiliation, bragger of pro socialist democrat State and Federal Policies whilst running for office, all of a sudden, through a complete ill-thought “Eureka” moment, in 2008 after Obama won the election, then, without due notice to the world of self consistence history abated, nor deviation prior too, all of a sudden, woke up one day in his 50’s of years of aging, and said, damm, I actually think I am a Conservative Republic today.

Folks, it doesn’t happen that way. Be wary, be careful of flooded propaganda. Especially if it is repeated over and over and over again.

    Just saying the obvious,

  31. http://hotair.com/archives/2011/08/31/obama-asks-for-prime-time-joint-session-of-congress-for-jobs-speech/

Just to remind everyone, that debate has been planned for months. It will take place at the Reagan Library at the exact same time as Obama has requested. It’s too late for candidates to rearrange their schedules, but it’s perhaps possible for the debate to take place later in the evening. Even so, Howard Kurtz took to Twitter to wonder what the White House was thinking:
Wouldn’t it have been better for Obama to have night to himself for jobs speech, rather than being followed by GOP debate? Shares news cycle
Maybe Obama and his team figured that an address to Congress would outshine the debate in media coverage, but that would only be true if Obama actually has a significantly new plan — or indeed, any plan. The last time Obama asked for a joint session was during the ObamaCare debate, where the White House suggested through friendly media leaks that Obama would have something new to add to the debate. All he accomplished was to ramp up the partisan vitriol without presenting any new ideas at all.
Joint-session presidential speeches are usually reserved for either State of the Union addresses (and for a SOTU substitute for newly-installed Presidents, usually called “budget messages”), inaugurations, or for heavily-weighted moments. Both Obama and Bill Clinton gave health-care reform addresses to joint sessions. Otherwise, most of the historic use of joint sessions have to do with war, either their start or their finish. George W. Bush used it only once outside of the SOTU/budget message paradigm, and that was to address the nation after the 9/11 attacks and declare a War on Terror. Reagan gave one on the Geneva Summit in 1985, certainly a heavily-weighted moment in the Cold War.
By putting his jobs speech into the context of historical presidential addresses, Obama is setting a high bar on expectations for his new plan. If all he delivers is the same speeded-up infrastructure spending, gimmicky tax breaks, and social-engineering subsidies for Democratic hobby-horse industries, then he’s risking a spectacular failure — and even more questions about his political and economic competence.
Update: William Jacobson tells Beohner to reject the request:
I assume that protocol is that a President gets to give a speech to a Joint Session of Congress whenever he wants, but this is abusive and purely political.
    Just say No.
That may sound satisfying, but a rejection will put Boehner on the spot to explain himself. I doubt that there has been a precedent of a Speaker refusing a joint-session request, and I also doubt one will start now.
Besides, this actually plays well for Republicans. Usually, the opposition party gets a few minutes for a rebuttal speech, shot in an anteroom with none of the drama and flair of a joint session speech. Instead, the GOP will have eight or nine responses to Obama on live television in a dramatic setting. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Republicans at the debate decide individually to focus their criticisms on Obama all night long and his plan, especially if — as I suspect — the plan will amount to a junior-grade Porkulus.
At the same time, it’s going to be obvious to everyone that the White House manipulated this for his re-election efforts, which will further reduce Obama’s credibility and the credibility of his proposal. And the first rule of political campaigning is not to get in the way of your opponent when he’s busy shooting himself in the foot.

  32. As I recall the last time bo scheduled a prime time address, not all the networks aired it and it had very low rating.

boehner should grow a pair and deny bo a joint session. Hopefully the networks will not want to air another BS speech from bo that none but the MORON demRats are interested in.

  33. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2011/aug/31/limbaugh-boehner-must-say-no-obama-joint-session-d/

Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh put in his two cent on the matter and suggested that Speaker John Boehner deny President Obama that particular date for a Joint Session of Congress:

“What he oughta do is say ‘no’ and offer September 6th, September the 8th, September the 9th, September the 10th…whatever, but he doesn’t get September the 7th. He should do this. It’s very simple. He says to the president, ‘you did not consult me before you publicly issued the date. you were obviously are trying to disrupt the plans at the Reagan Library. You’re going to have to learn that if you really want to work together as you repeatedly claim, Mr. President, I’m gonna show you how it’s done. Here are the dates that you can have.”

Conservative activists are also pointing out this is the second time President Obama has gone out of his way to insult Nancy Reagan, by trying to sabotage the GOP presidential debate at her late husband’s presidential library. The first time was at his initial press conference when he made a reference to the former first lady’s astrologer.

Speaker Boehner Must Say No To Obama’s Request For Joint Session

  35. http://www.redstate.com/charliesalmanack/2011/08/31/obamas-joint-session-request/

Boehner would have to be out of his mind to give Obama this kind of platform, and on this of all nights (considering it is a GOP debate night, and will be the first one to showcase Rick Perry).

The Speaker’s response should be simple: a counter-proposal that invites Obama to address the entire Congress during the day, in either public or private, one day next week.

He should not let Obama have a national platform from which to lecture.

I envisison a response from the Speaker’s Office might look something like this:

“Mr. President, the Republicans in the House and the Senate are in total agreement that America’s lackluster economic growth and job creation are critical issues that deserve the full attention of all policy makers. And we’re convinced that, for all of the differences between our parties, there must be some areas where we can work together and find common ground.

Your request, however, is to come and address a joint session of Congress on the evening of September 7th. There are two issues with this request, as we see it: First, the suggestions for a way forward would only be flowing in one direction, and as a co-equal branch of government the Congress hopes to engage in a two-way discussion on this critical topic. Second, the specific time you’ve chosen conflicts with one of the Republican Presidential debates, something we seriously doubt you were unaware of when making your request.

Hence, since your request is transparently political, we invite you instead to a two-way discussion with a joint session of Republicans (both House and Senate) for any afternoon of your choosing next week. We are happy to hear your ideas on job creation Mr. President, and look forward to sharing ours directly with you.

  36. boehner should invite bo to a two-way question and answer session on the afternoon of September 7. No way boehner should give bo a stage in prime time for him to demogauge.

  37. This was an excellent response to bo’s planned speech, boehner should stick to it.

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/61576.html

Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck also jabbed the proposal via Twitter: “We really don’t need another speech — just a plan, like, on paper. Seriously, just drop it in the mail. Podium not required. Thanks.”

  38. Even the msnbc IDIOTS see through bo’s BS.

  39. Its funny too that this is the same date that Tony Rezko’s trial date is. Obama always has to have something on TV so we don’t have any mention on the news about Tony Rezko. I am so sick of politicians.

Three of the GOP White House hopefuls are sitting House members — Reps. Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Ron Paul (Texas) and Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.).

Jesse Benton, Paul’s campaign manager, criticized the White House announcement as a political move.

“It is undignified that the president of the United States would resort to such transparent tactics to step on our Republican debate,” Benton said. “The real losers here are the American people who deserve the opportunity to watch both events.”

There’s been some anger, particularly in Conservative circles, about President Obama delaying his big jobs speech. Well, today he set a date and now there’s been even more anger, especially in Conservative circles. Why? Because the White House is requesting a joint session of Congress to give it and the date they’ve found where that’s possible is the same as the next GOP presidential debate. Rush Limbaugh is one of those riled up, saying on his radio show today that Obama “is demonstrating exactly what he doesn’t have; class.”

Limbaugh pointed out that John Boehner has the ability to decline the administration’s request and strongly urged the Speaker to do so.

POLL: Should Ron Paul Ignore Obama’s Attempt To Remove Him From The Upcoming Debate?
August 31, 2011 by Trevor Lyman

Obama has requested a joint session of Congress to deliver a speech on the economy and jobs. The problem is the President has chosen the day of an important and long planned Republican Presidential debate for the session. Obama’s actions would effectively remove Ron Paul and Michelle Bachman from the debates by forcing their attendance to the joint session and making it impossible for them to attend the debates. Some say this is a transparent and shameful tactic on Obama’s part to play politics with the political process.

Ron Paul is mulling over his options. What do you think he should do?

If Obama is successful in blocking Ron Paul from an important debate would he use the same tactic again?

If Ron Paul does not attend the join session will the media attack him and say he doesn’t care about the economy?

Please vote in the poll and leave your thoughts and comments below.

What should Ron Paul do regarding Obama’s debate day joint session request?

Ignore the session request and attend the debate. (78% Votes)

Use any and all procedures to block or delay the session but attend the session if those efforts fail. (18% Votes)

Obey protocol and attend the joint session without resistance. (4% Votes)

  44. http://www.politico.com/2012-election/

    What if Paul objected?

It turns out there’s more to scheduling a joint session of Congress than just having the president announce he’ll show up.

Jon Allen and Jake Sherman point out on the homepage that a member of Congress could object to scheduling a session for Obama’s speech and force a recorded vote on whether to hold the event. The vote could very well pass, but it probably wouldn’t be held until the afternoon of Sept. 7, shortly before the address is supposed to take place.

And what do you know, there happens to be a Republican congressman running for president who might decide to throw a wrench in the works:

Texas Rep. Ron Paul, a Republican candidate for the presidency, is considering whether to use his power as a House member to object to President Barack Obama’s surprise request to address a joint session of Congress at the same time as a long-planned Republican presidential debate on Sept. 7.

“Dr. Paul is weighing his options,” the veteran congressman’s spokesman, Jesse Benton, told POLITICO when asked whether Paul would object to a voice vote on a concurrent resolution allowing for the president to speak from the House chamber.

Paul could delay — though not single-handedly block — House action on a joint-session resolution. But he could force a roll call vote on the matter. It’s also possible that an Obama detractor in the Senate could slow legislation creating the joint session. Unified Republican opposition to the speech in either chamber would block it altogether.

House Republican leaders haven’t yet signaled how they will respond to Obama’s request.

Several House GOP sources said Wednesday afternoon that they had no advance notice from the White House that the president would request an audience with Congress. While House Republicans are clearly displeased with what they view as political gamesmanship by the president, they would have to weigh the risk of a potential political blowback if they declined Obama’s request or invited him for another time.

If Obama’s speech gets delayed, but not postponed, it could — at least in theory — end up affecting the GOP presidential debate that Paul has committed to participating in. The POLITICO-NBC statement that confirmed the debate would go forward on Sept. 7 didn’t say whether it would still happen at 8 p.m. Eastern. But even if debate organizers are open to holding the forum after the president’s speech, that option could get less attractive if Obama’s address ends up happening even later than expected.

  45. It is admirable that Congressman Paul has objected to bo’s petty unpresidential ploy to disrupt the Republican Debate on Sept. 7.

I am disappointed that Bachmann has not spoken out against bo’s ploy.

  46. The Republicans could use this to their advantage. Reschedule the debate to start immediately following Obama’s Joint session of Congress. NBC won’t be making follow-up comments about Obama’s dog and pony show and the other networks will have some of the news staff busy monitoring NBC’s debate. This will steer a lot of wind away from from the Obama sail. And the GOP candidates will have two prime time hours to criticize the Obama plan. The GOP does NOT want Obama’s speech to follow the debate.

BUT I suspect NBC won’t go against Obummer and will probably broadcast him live, conduct the debate at 8:00 as planned, record it and show it later, or on Thursday night. The candidates won’t see the BO speech until the debate is over.

  47. Jonah | August 31, 2011 at 4:29 pm |

A much better option is for Ron Paul and Bachmann to object to the joint session. Then, bo will end up looking like the fool that he is when his request is denied.

    http://www.politico.com/2012-election/

    What if Paul objected?

It turns out there’s more to scheduling a joint session of Congress than just having the president announce he’ll show up.

Jon Allen and Jake Sherman point out on the homepage that a member of Congress could object to scheduling a session for Obama’s speech and force a recorded vote on whether to hold the event. The vote could very well pass, but it probably wouldn’t be held until the afternoon of Sept. 7, shortly before the address is supposed to take place.

And what do you know, there happens to be a Republican congressman running for president who might decide to throw a wrench in the works:

  48. Boehner slap down of Obama on Drudge!

  49. I hope bo refuses boehner’s offer and Paul and Bachmann object to bo’s ploy then the vote would not be held until right before bo’s planned his speech, if bo loses he is exposed as the incompetent fool that he is, if he wins there is still not enough time for his speech before the Republican Debate. Then, bo can give his speech 11 pm to an empty House without tv coverage. LOL!
    ————————————————————–
    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/179067-boehner-asks-obama-to-move-speech-to-thursday

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) asked President Obama to address a joint-session of Congress on Thursday, Sept. 8, when it wouldn’t conflict with the Republican presidential debate.

Citing logistical difficulties, Boehner requested that Obama hold his jobs address, which Obama wants to deliver next Wednesday – one day later.

The Speaker’s letter made no mention of the more obvious conflict: between the president’s speech, and a Republican presidential debate scheduled on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EST. That debate is the first of the post-Labor Day political season, and the first one in which Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) is set to participate.

Boehner noted that the House isn’t scheduled to reconvene until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The ONLY reason Perry is the “front runner” is because the media has deemed him as such, and people are too “busy” to research to find out where he stands.

Although I agree that Obama needs to be beaten next November, “any Republican” won’t do. Romney is simply Republican in name. I will vote for the candidate who will do what is best for the Country, if I deem that the best person has an “R” beside their name, or someone who has something else by their name, in the end it is MY decision.

  66. Have a good evening. Off to watch the panel discussion on FOX.

  67. bo is taking a beating on the msm networks for his unpresidential ploy and his failure to create jobs.

  68. All the analysts who know hillary like Dick Morris have predicted that hillary will run in 2012. Why else would hillbots like paxson keep pushing for hillary on CW?

  69. There were FOUR different events that took place on September 11, 2001.

IF EITHER ONE OF THESE IS PROVEN FALSE ACCORDING TO THE GOVERNMENTS VERSION, THEN ALL OF THEM ARE FALSELY GIVEN TO COVER UP THE BIGGEST EVIL EVER COMMITTED AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT.

The question is; IF THE GOVERNMENT”S VERSION OF THESE EVENTS WERE FALSE, WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE FOR SUCH EVIL ACTS ?

    Problem #1:

    1. The Bush/Chaney government had knowledge Saddam Hussain ( the dictator of Iraq) was going to switch currencies in the control of his oil from DOLLARS to EURO’s) This would have created a REAL PROBLEM for the US. With the possibility of the entire world SHIFTING away from a dollar based economy to a floating currency, thereby collapsing the dollar and the American control over the world currencies.

SOLUTION: Create a second PEARL HARBOR situation blaming a faceless enemy named TERRORIST. Tie that enemy to Saddam Hussain, thereby giving America the REASON needed to invade Iraq and remove Hussain by force. This is called a FALSE FLAG operation.

METHOD USED TO ACCOMPLISH: Identify 19 Arabs from Saudi Arabia, Train therm to fly SMALL planes. Paint them as devote Muslims. Make sure they get plenty of public exposure before giving them their missions. Photograph all of them going into airports at the same time supposedly to board major airlines for different locations, after heavily arming them with only simple BOXCUTTERS, which by the way were not discovered by the metal detectors (I wonder why). Tell them their mission is to take over four giant airplanes and fly them into the two largest buildings in New York City, the WORLD TRADE CENTER, BUILDINGS 1 AND 2, and the Pentagon in Washington, and perhaps the Capitol, or the White House.

ACTIONS: We all know the results of two of the alleged planes hitting World Trade Center Bldg. 1 and 2, and something hitting the Pentagon. High-jacked plane #4 supposedly crashed in an open filed in Shanksburg PA., yet no wreckage was found and no bodies were discovered. On the scene shortly after the crash, the local Corner stated “after 20 minutes, I quite being a Corner because no bodies were located”.

Then there was Building # 7 at the World Trade Center which is another big can of worms. This building collapsed in it’s foot-print on 9-11-01 WITHOUT a plane or anything hitting it. This building housed the IRS, CIA, FBI, SEC (Securities Exchange Commision), and other branches of the federal government. Larry Silverstein, the owner, who had just 5 months prior signed a 5 year lease on the WTC buildings told the press that an order was given ” to be pull the building “. That meant destroy it by controlled demolition explosives. For this building to have “been pulled” on the same day WTC buildings 1 and 2 were destroyed meant EXPLOSIVES THAT DESTROYED BUILDING 7 HAD TO HAVE BEEN PLANTED WELL IN ADVANCE OF 9-11-01. Digest that for a moment. I say again: Explosives had to be placed in WTC building long before the events of 9-11-01. Larry Silverstein, who leased the buildings only 5 months earlier, made over 5 BILLION dollars on insurance claims after the buildings came down. No more lease payments were made after the buildings were destroyed. A very lucrative deal for Mr. Silverstein. Does that tidbit of information raise your eyebrow a little?

P.S. Another interesting factor, George Bush’s brother, Marvin Bush, was in charge of security operations at both the World Trade Center and the airports from which the planes took off. The company he worked for later went out of business. Any questions you have for Mr. Bush?

Think about this. If Building 7 was intentionally destroyed by someone(s) in our government, is it not logical to assume the other two buildings were also! If any one part of the events of 9-11-01 is proven false, doesn’t it make sense that every version of events given by our government on 9-11-01 are also false?

CONCLUSION: There is NO theory here…there is only TRUTH and a big cover-up with false information put out by our government and sold to the public by a complacent state run news media.. All of that at the cost of over 5,000 Americans who worked in the WTC buildings, and hundreds of brave first responders who tried to save them,

THE BIG HIT: This was done to give our governbment an excuse to go into Iraq and other countries of the middle-east where TRILLIONS of dollars could be spent by the military/industrial industry. Now untold millions have died. To say nothing of the brave American soldiers who were put in harms way returning home broken or dead.

Recently now we are learning perhaps we will be in Afganistan until 2024! And we are now rattling our sabers in many other middle eastern countries. How much more will this cost the American taxpayer and how many more soldiers lives will be put on the sacrificial alter? Anyone not familiar with Major General Smedley Butler ( two time Congressional Medal of Honor holder) should read his book, “War is a Business”, which our government seems to be following to the tee.

    PROBLEM # 2:

One day before the events of 9-11-01, the Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, along with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force General Meyers, at his side, went on national television and stated that 2.3 TRILLION DOLLARS could not be accounted for at the Pentagon. Let me repeat that. $2.3 TRILLION dollars could not be accounted for at the Pentagon!

This announcement was never made again. No reporter has ever questioned anyone about the missing 2.3 TRILLION dollars and this shocking bit of information was never whispered again after the events of 9-11-01.
    I wonder why?

SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM: At the same time the operations were conducted at the World Trade Center, another false flag operation was conducted at the Pentagon by sending a MISSILE, or something other than a plane, into the side of the Pentagon at the EXACT AREA where the accountability records and computers for that missing $2.3 TRILLION dollars was located. Blame for this action was placed on the same people who supposedly struck the World Trade Center buildings and you have created the perfect storm.

METHOD USED TO ACCOMPLISH: Insure the hundreds of security camera video NEVER gets released to the public. Send a Cruise missile into the designated area, call it Flight 77. Cordon off the area, don’t allow anyone entry to the area. Threaten witness and confiscate all evidence. Put out the plane story and let the media run with it.

    PROBLEM # 3:

The crash of a commercial plane outside of Shanksburg Pa. is so unbelievable it requires little explaination. Nothing but a hole in the ground less than 6 feet deep and 30 feet long . No wreckage, no bodies. Yet our government said this was a plane perhaps heading for the Capitol or White House. The major media bought it and then proceeded to sale this version to the public.

So armed with knowledge like this, can anyone deny that 9-11 was an INSIDE JOB?

In 10 days, we will honor those who lost their lives in all the events. What better way could we honor them than to DEMAND our elected politicians get the truth from our government about 9-11-01. Then let the chips fall where they may.

    Lest We Forget.

A White House official said on condition of anonymity that the administration had consulted with Boehner’s office on the September 7 date before going public and received no objections or concerns.

But Brendan Buck, a spokesman for the speaker, said no one had signed off on the date before Obama’s public request arrived.

“It’s unfortunate the White House ignored decades — if not centuries — of the protocol of working out a mutually agreeable date and time before making any public announcement,” Buck said.

A president cannot simply call a joint session of Congress himself, as the House of Representatives and the Senate must pass resolutions to invite him.

  72. FS,
I must admit that, during the 2008 primaries, I told my daughter that I would vote for Hillary………. before I’d ever vote for Obama. She was flabbergasted because she knew how much I despised Hillary. I told her what Obama’s campaign did to Hillary was disgraceful. I tried to tell her that he was a fraud, but she ended up voting for him anyway. Hillary supporters have been coming here as long as I’ve been here. And that’s OK with me. Most people who come here have the same goal and that is to see Obama removed from office. That’s what binds us together.

And FS, it is good that you are back, but your penchant for calling people obots and demRats is disturbing to me and to the momentum of the group. I’ve been called an obot before and it is a vile word when directed to someone who has devoted three years to revealing the truth about the man. The name calling and ugly criticism only provoke anger. It must stop! And that is directed to all. We come here to learn from others and to voice our own opinions. We are free to comment but we are not free to personally criticize other people. Each individual provides some good information and offers unique insights. It isn’t necessary that we all agree with each other but we must be respectful of each other. Please!

“What’s dumb is to oversee an economy that has lost that many millions of jobs,” Perry said of President Barack Obama’s record in the White House, “to put unemployment numbers over his four years will stay probably at 9 percent, to downgrade the credit of this good country, to put fiscal policies in place that were a disaster in the 30′s and try them again in the 2000′s – that’s what I consider to be the definition of dumb.”

  96. Perry Mafia Punked, “Beclowned” Indeed …. Pamela Gellar

It was interesting to see the beclowned Red State, Ace (pronounced ass, I am sure), and the increasingly irrelevant Commentary jump all over me because I exposed Rick Perry’s dawah curriculum served up to our young children in the public schools of Texas. It’s telling that the “leading lights” of the rightwing blogosphere were so eager to rip me, to the point of journalistic malpractice, without so much as a cursory look at the evidence. Commentary is soft, we know, but did they throw research out along with
    integrity? Shame on Alana Goodman.

They learn ALL of the 50 cent words so that they can use them to mislead people. They tailor their statements to make people believe that UP is DOWN, LEFT is RIGHT, ETC. Then when a DUMBED DOWN society hears these words they stretch their arms toward the sky with tears running down their cheeks and chant…..”the Messiah has arrived.”

After The Daily Caller broke the story yesterday of a 1993 letter from then-Texas Agriculture Commissioner Rick Perry commending then-first lady Hillary Clinton for her efforts to reform health care, some Republicans are questioning the Texas governor’s conservative credentials.

The letter, along with his support for Al Gore in 1988, have fueled Perry’s detractors who now suggest the Texan is all style and little substance. MSNBC host Joe Scarborough is one of those detractors.

On his Wednesday “Morning Joe” program, Scarborough launched into a near 15-minute rant, complete with faux southern accent, ripping Perry for having a Democratic past before he became a Republican.

A solar energy firm touted by the administration in 2010 as a as a “gleaming example of green technology” today announced bankruptcy. 1,100+ employees will be fired.

  119. Interested Bystander

    Pat,

Just FYI I work third shift.

    “Pat 1789 | August 31, 2011 at 9:19 pm |

Where is Interesting Bystander now when the Ron Paul anarchists and 9/11 Truthers show up to divide the eligibility movement?”

To answer your question, I read CW almost every day, and only comment when I feel it is necessary.

If you would go back and see my first comments on FS, you will see that not only I, but almost everyone else tried to “reason” with FS until he pulled out the name calling, and then “we” pretty much defended ourselves.

I have NOT commented that I supported Paul, and I make it a point to state that in the comments I make about Paul.

I DO like MOST of his positions on the issues.

I also like Cain, but his message sadly doesn’t seem to be gaining momentum.

The more the MSM calls Paul “radical” or “extreme” or “right wing”, the more I listen to him.

As far as 9/11 goes, I believe that it is unthinkable that our Government would have ANYTHING to do with it. I do NOT believe they did, and argue that point to anyone who wants to debate the issue.

Look, I would hope that everyone who comments here would be respected for their positions. Although we may disagree on who or why or what it is we are debating, it would be nice if we could be civil in our debate.

Paxson has been WRONGLY attacked by FS and it is sad that FS doesn’t understand that all his attacking does is divide those who comment here.

I apologize to you IF I have wrongly lumped you in with FS.

  120. The government knew about 9-11 beforehand.

The incompetence and incooperative departments of the FBI, CIA, NSA etc. unwilling to share and coordinate what they each knew of the plot may be what caused the greatest disaster in American history.

My take upon watching a PBS FRONTLINE special last year whose title escapes me.

  121. If you’ll pardon me for going the Truther route on this thread.

    It’s distasteful and DOES detract…

  122. Good morning.
This just in from Steven L. Craig

In the Supreme Court of the State of Oklahoma #109 808
S.L.C. Vs the State of Oklahoma
The Honorable Mary Fallin, Governor et al

    APPLICATION TO ASSUME ORIGINAL JURISDICTION

    MOTION OF MANDAMUS

    MOTION
    CERTIFICATION OF U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL QUESTION
    TO THE
SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES

    [excerpt];
    Petitioner offers the following points as subjects suitable to be considered as Adjudicative Facts, revised and extended from previous versions of Motions filed which exposes the lack of “legal” action on the subject matter;

[a] As of this date (1) there is no acknowledged legal definition of the Constitutional idiom (2) of natural born Citizen (3) that satisfies the needs of the Constitutional Rule of Law insofar as the various Departments and Courts of the Federal Government is concerned.

[b] Only the Supreme Court of the United States has the Constitutional authority to interpret, for legal purposes, the definition, (as well as the meaning and intent), of the Constitutional idiom of natural born Citizen.(4) Further, the Political Question Doctrine does not apply to the interpreting and defining the definition, meaning and intent as there is no “discretionary language” that would defer to any other branch of the Government within the Clause. (5)

    [snip];
Any argument that asserts the State Election Laws concerning the National General Election of the Executive Officers is not unconstitutional is to argue that the subject Clause of the Constitution is meant to be without effect and that “nothing more needs to be done” by the Federal Government, the State, the Election Board or Political Parties in order to satisfy the needs of Article II Section I Clause V of the Constitution.

The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution, the State Constitution acknowledging the Supremacy of the U.S. Constitution and the Guarantee of the State to provide a Republican Form of Government under the Constitutional Rule of Law to its Citizens, as well as the admonition found in Marbury v Madison, each makes such an argument untenable.(6)

How can illegal aliens possess “valid social security numbers?” Were the numbers they are using assigned to them, or are they valid for someone else? Were the numbers stolen? Did Zeituni and Onyango commit identity fraud? Why did they not return to their “home country” of Kenya?

Does Barack Hussein Obama have any other illegal alien relatives residing in the United States? Is he an illegal alien himself?”

  126. There are some great Americans like President Reagan and Governor Perry who were once democrats, but there is no such thing as a good demRat anymore.

After all hillary and bo have done to destroy our country, anyone who would represent is misguided at best.

  127. http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/vernon/110901

Rick Perry shoots to the top of the polls just days after entering the Republican field, and in no time, he gets the “he’s stupid” treatment accorded Ronald Reagan (whose predecessors were not smart enough to figure out a way to bring down the Soviet empire or how to usher in two decades of unprecedented prosperity.)

The tough-talking Texan’s record as governor, as well as his fearless rhetoric, should be heartening for many conservatives.

  128. I am glad boehner finally grew a pair and stood up to bo a bit, but any Republican who votes yes to allow bo to give his latest political to a joint session of congress on Sept. 8 or any other date is a wimp.

“The president should pick another night. I’m planning to watch the Republican primary debate … and the president should watch it, too.”

The iconic South Carolina conservative said. “If he has a jobs proposal, put it in writing, give us a cost estimate, and send it over. I want to read the bill, not listen to talking points off a TelePrompter. If he insists on playing politics by picking the night of the GOP debate, I will object to the session.”

A lone determined senator can tie the chamber in knots for days, and the House and Senate must both pass a concurrent resolution to allow for the president to speak to a joint session.
