“As usual, the face of Emmanuel Goldstein, the Enemy of the people, had flashed onto the screen. There were hisses here and there among the audience. The little sandyhaired woman gave a squeak of mingled fear and disgust. Goldstein was the renegade and backslider who once, long ago (how long ago, nobody quite remembered), had been one of the leading figures of the party, almost on a level with Big Brother himself, and then had engaged in counterrevolutionary activities , had been condemned to death, and had mysteriously escaped and disappeared. The program of the Two Minutes Hate varied from day to day, but there was none in which Goldstein was not the principal figure. He was the primal traitor, the earliest defiler of the Party’s purity. All subsequent crimes against the Party, all treacheries, acts of sabotage, heresies, deviations, sprang directly out of his teaching. Somewhere or other he was still alive and hatching his conspiracies: perhaps somewhere beyond the sea, under the protection of his foreign paymasters; perhaps even–so it was occasionally rumored–in some hiding place in Oceania itself.”

“Goldstein was delivering his usual venomous attack upon the doctrines of the Party–an attack so exaggerated and perverse that a child should have been able to see through it, and yet just plausible enough to fill one with an alarmed feeling that other people, less level-headed than oneself, might be taken in by it. He was abusing Big Brother, he was denouncing the dictatorship of the Party, he was demanding the immediate conclusion of peace with Eurasia, he was advocating freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of thought”…George Orwell, “1984″

“Anti-tea party e-mail leads to slap on wrist for human rights investigator”

“An investigator for Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn’s human rights agency got a slap on the wrist for forwarding an e-mail before last November’s election that contended the Republican Party had been hijacked by “dangerous, radical hate mongers called the ‘Tea Party.’ ”

The e-mail, sent on a state computer, claimed talk show host Glenn Beck and former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin led the tea party effort to “take down President Obama and the government.”

Following an investigation, officials at the Illinois Department of Human Rights delivered a verbal reprimand to Alvin Forbes Sr. in the spring. The case came to light Monday when the state’s Executive Ethics Commission published the details on its web site.

The pro-Democratic e-mail urged readers to fight at the ballot box against a tea party political coup because “these people hate blacks. They hate Latinos. They hate Muslims and have at times made many anti-Semitic statements. They hate gays. They hate any moderate Republican who might be likely to cooperate with Obama.”

Forbes, 56, of Chicago, said in an interview that the case against him was “petty as hell.” He called the reprimand “bogus,” saying he sent the e-mail accidentally to some of his co-workers. He said his sister had sent it to him.”

Chad Fornoff, executive director of the Executive Ethics Commission, said the violation “was egregious enough to warrant publication” on its web site. The commission can opt not to publish a case unless discipline includes several days’ suspension.

Forbes said he was grilled about the incident by two officials and the executive inspector general’s office reviewed his e-mails back to January 2003. When he learned of the recommendation for discipline, Forbes said, “I’m looking at this thing and thinking, ‘Wow, we’ve got much bigger fish to fry.’ ”

In its explanation, the Human Rights Department noted Forbes was given an oral reprimand for political activity on his state computer and it took into account Forbes had “no prior discipline and his work performance has been good.”

“Even though I may think (the punishment) was not appropriate, it’s the lowest level of discipline that they could initiate,” Forbes said. “And they had to do something to justify what they are doing.””

    Good morning Zach, et al.
Vermont flooding was worst in 100 years.
How about your neck of the woods?

  2. If the demRats think CW is irrelevant then why do they spend so much time here trying to trash CW? Why did they create, at least, 3 failed anti-CW sites to desperately try to lure traffic away from CW?

As far as Gov Rick Perry is concerned, the more the demRats futilely try to smear him with LIES, the more I get motivated to do everything I can to support him.

The truth is that in two weeks Rick Perry has almost made all the other candidates irrelevant from Romney to Hillary to bo. The American People are sick of their BS!

“The response is classic Obama: patronizing, dishonest, syntactically muddled, and grammatically challenged. In the very first sentence Obama leads with his signature failing, one on full display in his earlier published work: his inability to make subject and predicate agree.”

Maybe now Americans will stop asking me why Republicans never challenged Barack Obama’s clear constitutional ineligibility for the presidency.

The answer is one of the following:

They are too ignorant to understand that the definition of a “natural born citizen” is an American born to U.S. citizen parents; or

They are willing accomplices in the dumbing down of a simple constitutional requirement for their own political reasons – so their own ineligible candidates can run.

  18. Free Speech et al,

How could Obama have been president of the Harvard Law Review when he couldn’t even write a grammatically correct article himself? Many people who post here correct their own spelling and grammar as demonstrated at 9:16 above but Harvard educated Obama published a poorly written article? It’s no wonder the media ignores his countless crimes against America. They’re as incompetent as he is!

Weprin Drops Out of Debate in N.Y. Special
    Roll Call ^ | Aug. 29, 2011 | Joshua Miller

Posted on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 9:43:52 AM by Palmetto Patriot

State Assemblyman David Weprin (D) dropped out of a scheduled debate with Republican Bob Turner on Monday, just over two weeks before a special election in New York’s 9th district that will send one of the men to Congress.

Weprin was tripped up in a recent interview with the New York Daily News editorial board when asked the size of the national debt. The Daily News reported that he had a “deer in the headlights look” and then said “[a]bout 4 trillion.” According to the most recent Department of Treasury statistics, the country’s total debt stands at about $14.7 trillion.

The Turner campaign framed Weprin’s decision to not participate in the debate as directly related to the Daily News interview.

Your logic here is convoluted. Whether or not somebody support Rick Perry right now in the early stages of our Republican primary process is not the bizarre litmus test that you’ve attached to it.

My biggest mental hurdle on supporting Rick Perry is that he was a big player on trying to get Al Gore elected. My distaste for Al Gore is so great, and always has been, I’m having difficulty reconciling this fact.

Therefore I am still sticking with a candidate who doesn’t have to “explain ” his past decisions. HERMAN CAIN.

  22. How can anyone living in the United States obtain a VALID Social Security card without being a LEGAL citizen?

Uncle Obama was 67 years old…does this mean he was retired and drawing social security payments from our government at taxpayer expense? Had he been actively paying into the system like all LEGAL citizens, or just another illegal feeder?

Anyone have an answer to these questions? Other than his last name happened to be Obama, therefore he is qualified to ripe the system off!

The more we know about Uncle Omar, the more questions there are.

It’s just political correctness. Politicians don’t want to do anything to alienate immigrants. demRats went to the extreme with bo. Hopefully the Republican nominee will not make the mistake of selecting Rubio. Rick Perry is already polling ahead of bo in Florida so Rubio brings nothing to the table.

  32. Is Impeachment the Proper Course of Action?

CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR SAYS IMPEACHMENT, THEN PROSECUTION

    by Neil Turner

(Aug. 30, 2011) — As many of you know, there has been an ongoing discussion and disagreement by various patriots as to whether ‘impeachment’ is a valid action to be brought against the usurper in our White House. The main argument against it is taken from an article written by Dr. Edwin Viera in 2008, BEFORE the usurper was actually ‘certified’ by the Electoral College, and before he was ‘sworn in’ by U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.

…if Obama does become an usurper posturing as “the President,” Congress cannot even impeach him because, not being the actual President, he cannot be “removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors” (see Article II, Section 4).

  35. Bob…

The big problem with impeachment of Obama is simple.

If impeachment become a reality, then ALL bills he has signed into law, all appointments he has made, all arrangements made with foreign countries, all commitments he has made to the UN and NATO, and all other actions taken by Obama BEFORE his impeachment hearing will be considered as LEGAL in any court of law….therefore….

Impeachment should NEVER, NEVER be considered to get rid of this USURPER. The only way is charges of high treason and legal punishments.

  36. There is only one former Democrat here pontificating on selecting candidates based on “demographics” rather than past deeds. No need to mention names, right FS?

Agreed – impeachment is not a good enough response. Nullification is the best course of action if we can do. Cannot wait until someone else is elected either.
Need to nullify and get those Judicial appointments reversed as well as all commitments.

The STUPIDITY of the MORON demRats who support Hillary is astonishing.

These stupid demRats actually think they can come on conservative blogs and win support for Hillary? LOL!

It would be a better use of their time to go to the demRat blogs and try to urge the few demRats who still support hillary to get Grand Jury Indictments of bo because that is the only way hillary will get the nomination. 70% of the STUPID demRats still support bo and the Republicans are too smart to do anything that will hand the demRat nomination over to hillary.
