With a bit of sadness I report and mourn the loss of the Rhinoceros Times, a conservative weekly newspaper and website published in Greensboro, NC.

The truth in print in NC.

However, as the saying goes, every closed door leads to an open door.

Let’s hope so for the sake of publisher John Hammer and the truth.

“The Rhinoceros Times newspaper in Greensboro closes”

“After more than 21 years, Rhinoceros Times publisher John Hammer says Greensboro’s conservative weekly newspaper has published its last issue.

“We just ran out of money,” Hammer said in an interview Tuesday.

In a post to the free weekly’s website Tuesday morning, Hammer wrote that the paper is hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. He asked for reader donations to help pay off creditors.

The paper’s website will keep going for as long as it can, Hammer said — but having laid off all his paid staff Tuesday, he isn’t sure what it will look like.

“I’m still enormously interested in local politics,” Hammer said. “That hasn’t changed just because we’ve run out of money.”

Hammer said print advertising just dried up. An aborted attempt to expand into Charlotte also lost the company a lot of money, Hammer said. The paper pulled out of Charlotte in 2008.

Hammer said he met with a series of potential buyers and investors but couldn’t put together a deal to save the paper. It isn’t yet clear what will become of the paper’s offices on Market Street, he said.

Scott Yost, the paper’s Guilford County editor and columnist, said staffers will land on their feet but the community will feel the loss of the Rhino.

“I feel like we’ve been a real asset,” Yost said. “I feel like we’ve uncovered a lot of scandal, and a lot of politicians and leaders didn’t get away with things because of us.”

The Rhino freely mixed news writing with editorial comment and came at every story from a conservative point of view — something Hammer said they never denied.

But the paper also crusaded for more transparency in local government, Hammer said, reporting on politicians meeting in secret and publishing an annual salary list of every county and city employee.

The Rhino’s combative nature and conservative message made it popular with area Republicans, a number of whom it championed for local office.

“The Rhino was very important for conservatives and how we got our message out,” said Linda Shaw, the chairwoman of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners.

“I hate to see them go,” Commissioner Jeff Phillips said in agreement.

“I’ll miss the constant presence of their conservative message and Scott Yost at all our meetings,” Phillips said. “It’s hard to imagine Guilford County politics without the Rhino.”

Not everyone was sorry to hear about the paper’s demise.”

Mike Zullo was interviewed and answered questions from Callers on the Carl Gallups radio show on April 5, 2013.

One of the topics that Zullo most responded to and elaborated on was the massive effort by the Obama camp to attempt to discredit anyone questioning Obama and his records. This, along with threats, is why so many “conservatives” in the media and in office shy away from joining in.

Both Mike Zullo and Carl Gallups spoke about RINOs who had backed down because of fear of ridicule or attack.

One caller mentioned John Woodman, a supposed conservative and author, who had offered to help the Arpaio investigation. Zullo echoed what was reported here about Woodman. Woodman is another example of misinformation and someone being touted as an expert when they are not.

When asked about joining forces with Orly Taitz and others Zullo reminded us that his is a criminal investigaiton, with a higher standard of evidence and could not be combined with civil cases. He used the example of the OJ Simpson trials, criminal vs civil.

“John Woodman has written and published a book titled “Is Barack Obama’s Birth Certificate a Fraud?”.”

“The correct description and one that I have adhered to when writing about it is:

Is the image placed on WhiteHouse.gov a photostatic copy of a legitimate long form birth certificate for Obama proving birth in Hawaii?

The difference between these 2 statements is crucial in determining the truth.

Why is this important?

1. An image was placed on WhiteHouse.gov with absolutely no proof of chain of document, one that with a cursory examination is highly suspect. Even if proven to have come from the Hawaii Department of Health, it may simply be an abstract.

2. The Hawaii statutes in 1961 and today allow for a birth certificate for a non Hawaiian birth.

Mr. Woodman makes the following “hasty conclusion” or over generalization on Page 205 of his book:

“How Do The Experts Score?”

“So why do the “for’s” at this point, outnumber the against’s?”
Part of the answer is that a few of the individuals in the “for” group have experience and points of view that may not be adequate for, or not quite applicable to, the task. One is a teenager; one is mostly a business owner; another is mostly a financial specialist; one is a writer of non-technical books.

Another is a typographer working with distorted fonts.”

So business owners are incapable of analysis and drawing proper conclusions? This reminds me of the classic attitude of the left and so called intellectuals.

Mr. Woodman, I am uniquely qualified to offer my analysis.

Some of Mr. Woodman’s assertions are wrong or misleading.

From Page 207:

“Dr. Corsi has publicly promoted, either in writing or on the radio, at least twenty-three evidence-of-fraud theories that we cover in this book.
In writing and speaking about his own theories as well as those of others, he has publicly identified the following as potential indicators of fraud:

the nature of the layers
alleged editing of items on the certificate
the white halo
the duplicated characters
the date stamps
the “scanner with x-ray vision
the altered PDF posted at archiveindex.com by Doug Vogt
the supposed kerning
comparison with the “African birth” forgery
the supposed lack of text curvature
the apparent lack of a seal
the alignment of Ann Dunham Obama’s signature
the supposed existence of “hidden text”
the idea that a different document exists
the out-of-sequence birth certificate number
Paul Irey’s theory of different typefaces
the supposed misspelling of the word “THE”
the supposed “smiley face” in the signature stamp
the supposed record of the forger’s initials
the supposed lack of hospital records for Mrs. Obama
the discrepancy in Barack Obama, Sr,’s age
the allegations by Tim Adams
and the idea that Governor Abercrombie had stated that no birth certificate existed.

As we have seen, not a single one of these twenty-three alleged indicators or “proofs” that the document is a fraud or invalid really holds up under close examination..
Not one.”

Semantics! If we strictly look at only the image on WhiteHouse.gov as being tampered with, then perhaps Mr. Woodman can get away with this, although it makes me question his motives. Some of the items above are certainly open to inspection and questioning. However, if our objective is to ascertain whether or not the image represents a legitimate birth certificate, then Tim Adams affidavit and Governor Abercrombie’s statements are highly relevant. And has Mr. Woodman viewed any hospital records for Stanley and little Obama?

On page 217 Mr. Woodman states:

“Also weighing against the idea of a forgery is the fact that any conspiracy  would need to involve:

high officials in Hawaii state government (most likely, stretching across two gubernatorial administrations of both parties)

lower-level Department of Health staff.

probably at least one official from the White House

most likely some intelligence agency personnel

and Barack Obama himself.

As the number of people required for the conspiracy to work goes up, the likelihood of a successful conspiracy goes down.
Nonetheless, I will admit that it’s possible to believe that a fraud has been committed.”

Tim Adams, documented as having worked in the Honolulu elections office in 2008, has signed an affidavit stating that there was no birth certificate for Obama in Hawaii than and that it was common knowledge. Governor Abercrombie stated that he could find no birth certifcate for Obama. Only a notation.

Tim Adams and Governor Abercrombie may not relate to the image being a fraud, but they certainly do to Obama being one.

Mr. Woodman spends much of his efforts trying to debunk the layers and anomalies pointed out by others. He may be correct about some of his assertions. His explanation for most of this is a software program. By doing so, he is in fact proving that the image is not a photostatic copy.

He further compares the image to that of certified copies for the Nordyke twins. He states that they are from the same type of forms. However, the biggest difference between the 2 images is that the Nordyke twins certificates have a stamped seal and verbage that states:

“This certifies that the above is a true and correct copy of the original record on file.”

The WhiteHouse.com image has the following:

“I certify this is a true copy or abstract of the record on file in the Hawaii State Department of health.”  Alvin T. Onaki, Ph.D.

Abstract: “The term abstract is subject to different meanings, but in a legal sense, it refers to an abbreviated history of an official record

As you may recall, the NC unemployment data for January was released about a week ago. On March 28, 2013 the unemployment figures for February 2013 were released by the NC Department of Commerce.

The NC report as well as media reports from NC fail to mention the drop in the Labor Force Participation Rate. That failure will not be carried over here.

“NC jobless rate falls slightly to 9.4 percent”

“The state’s unemployment rate edged downward in February but remains just marginally better than it was a year ago.

“It was yet another month that didn’t really alter the status quo very much,” said John Quinterno of South by North Strategies, a Chapel Hill firm specializing in economic and social policy. “It’s very similar to the numbers we’ve seen on and off at least for the past 14 or 15 months.”

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate across North Carolina fell one-tenth of a percentage point to 9.4 percent in February, according to data released Thursday by the state Commerce Department’s Labor and Economic Analysis Division. A year ago, the state’s jobless rate was 9.5 percent.

Quinterno noted that since the beginning of 2012 the unemployment rate has moved up and down within a narrow band – never higher than 9.6 percent or lower than 9.4 percent.

The state unemployment rate continues to lag the national rate of 7.7 percent. The number of unemployed workers in North Carolina totaled 446,840 in February.

North Carolina added 3,300 jobs in February, a gain of one-tenth of a percent.

The state lost 327,800 jobs between December 2007, the pre-recession peak, and February 2010, Quinterno said. Since then the state has added 209,500 jobs.

“We actually have closed a significant part of the gap since then,” Quinterno said. “We shouldn’t ignore that. But on the other hand, it has been so slow that it doesn’t really feel like it is getting better for a lot of folks.””

It seems to me Charlotte Observer, et al in the media, that your readers should know that the Labor Force Participation rate in NC dropped .2 percent from January to February.
It seems to me that they should also know.

You have heard the excuses from Obama aided by the lies from the mainstream media. Obama blamed Bush for inheriting a mess even though he and his Democrat cronies and criminals helped create the mess. When Obama took the White House in January 2009, the Democrats had controlled both houses of Congress for 2 years and would do so for 2 more years until January 2011.

The Labor Force Participation Rate for NC recently has been difficult to locate (I will find it.) The unemployment rate for NC and North Carolina counties for January 2013 was reported late in March.

Sean Hannity on Fox News recently interviewed Texas Senator Tom Cruz about a possible presidential run in 2016. Hannity brings up the fact that Cruz was born in Canada and may not be eligible.

Carl Cameron on Fox News recently  commented about presidential hopefuls and in regard to Ted Cruz made the following statrement:

“But Cruz was born in Canada and is constitutionally ineligible.”

Thank you Carl Cameron. Now if we can only get you to challenge Obama’s eligibility.

Sean Hannity, et al. There are multiple sources that explain why Senator Ted Cruz is not eligible for the presidency. The US Constitution with it’s grandfather clause is one. However, we have a recent ruling from the FEC that makes it crystal clear that Cruz is ineligible.

Also, remember, John McCain was a citizen with 2 US citizen parents, but he was challenged because of his birth location.

Senate Resolution 511 from April 30, 2008, which Barack Obama signed, states:

“Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That John Sidney McCain, III, is a `natural born Citizen’ under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.”

I have reported several Obama controversies from early in 2008. The Larry Sinclair Obama sex and drug encounter, Obama’s ties to Rezko and corruption in Chicago and Illinois and Obama’s eligibility deficiencies and efforts to hide his records.

I do not often report on the eligibility issue but I have kept the Hassan vs FEC rulings in the forefront for a reason. The FEC has helped to clear up some of the confusion regarding the definition of Natural Born Citizen. This also explains why Obama refused matching funds from the FEC in 2008. He was not eligible for matching funds or the presidency.

The Obots, imbeciles in the biased mainstream media and politicians were either confused, ignorant and/or biased in 2008 when Obama’s eligibility as a natural born citizen was questioned. Many of them used the terms citizen, naturalized citizen and natural born citizen interchangeably. If Obama had requested matching funds from the FEC, as he had promised to do, his eligibility would have been challenged, as was Abdul Hassan’s.

There is no more controversy.

The US Constitution is a good starting point. It states:

“no Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President . . . .”

This confirms that citizen is not equivalent to natural born citizen.

The FEC ruling against Abdul Hassan on September 2, 2011 states:

“No, as a naturalized American citizen, Mr. Hassan is not eligible to receive
presidential matching funds under the Presidential Primary Matching Payment Account Act (“Matching Payment Act”).

The United States Constitution provides that “[n]o Person except a natural born
Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President . . . .” U.S. Const. art. II, sec. 1, cl. 5.”

Senate Resolution 511 from April 30, 2008, which Barack Obama signed, states:

“Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 193”

McCain had 2 US citizen parents. Lawyers and legislators must be specific in what they include and omit.

The founding fathers, some of whom were trained in the law, had a clear understanding of what a natural born citizen is and that is why they had to be grandfathered in.

Case closed!

We have come to expect biased reporting from Politico and of course The Blaze, owned by Glenn Beck, who is clueless regarding Obama’s eligibility, predictably mis reporting on the Natural Born Citizen clause.

“POLITICO WONDERS: IS TX SEN. TED CRUZ A ‘NATURAL BORN CITIZEN’ ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR THE U.S. PRESIDENCY?”

“Only one week into his tenure as a Texas senator, Ted Cruz, 42, is already drawing presidential murmurs. While it’s certainly too early to tell what sort of leader Cruz will be, in practical terms, Politico raised a larger issue on Monday evening. Based on the fact that the politician was born to an American mother and a Cuban father in Canada, the outlet wondered if he is eligible to run for the American presidency.

The question at the center of the discussion is hypothetical at this juncture, as there’s no indication that the new senator is interested in the role. According to some, the fact that he was born outside of the U.S. could cause constitutional complications and uncertainties that would potentially cloud a candidacy. However, there is no precedent to examine that answers the viability question definitively. Politico explains:

While there’s no legal precedent for Cruz’s situation, most constitutional scholars surveyed by POLITICO believe the 42-year-old tea party sensation would be OK. But there’s just enough gray area to stoke controversy, as Cruz learned during his campaign for Senate last year.”

There’s no indication that he’s interested or seeking the presidency and such prospects, even if he does show an inclination, are years away. Still, on a grander scale, the discussion about natural born citizenship is pertinent — and one that seems continually unresolved.”

“I can’t believe the level to which President Barack Hussein Obama has
sunk with this whole sequester mess. First of all it was his idea. He
can blame it on the Republicans all he wants but this was his idea.
Even noted liberal writer Bob Woodward has written that it was Obama’s
idea.”

“The federal government is on line to spend $3.8 trillion this year.
The sequester will limit the federal government to spending $3.715
trillion, so apparently the only thing in that entire budget that can
be cut are air traffic controllers, Transportation Security
Administration agents at airports, Border Patrol agents, education
funding and other services that directly affect people.

The truth is that nobody is really talking about cutting anything. For
one thing the federal government doesn’t have a budget. It has not had
one since the first year Obama took over as president. There is no
budget, so federal agencies just keep growing. All the sequester does
is cut back on the rate of growth a little bit.

Why should the federal government grow every year? If all the federal
services that were provided in 2012 were provided at exactly the same
level by employees being paid exactly the same amount of money would
that cause massive problems for the people of the country?

The sequester doesn’t even come close to doing that. It just calls for
across-the-board cuts that reach a level of $85 billion. Last year the
federal government spent over $2 billion providing cell phones to
people who could not afford them. I didn’t know that owning a cell
phone was an inalienable right like life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness, but evidently it is important enough for the federal
government to spend $2 billion on Obama-phones. Of course, that was an
election year. The federal government might not have to spend quite as
much on Obama-phones since all those votes have been cast.

Imagine for just a moment if the sequester meant that the Air Force
One pilot would be furloughed and the Obamas could not fly anywhere
they wanted at any moment. Imagine if just one week a month the Obamas
couldn’t fly anywhere because they didn’t have a pilot.

Or what if the sequester caused Obama’s favorite golf course to be
closed on Sundays. Or isn’t it possible that with the sequester the
White House chef would be laid off?

In fact, it is somewhat amazing that the American people are going to
be so inconvenienced by the reduction in anticipated spending that
this sequester brings, but the president will not be inconvenienced at
all.

Imagine – according to Obama the federal government can’t survive on a
mere $3.715 trillion without making drastic cuts to services that many
Americans use.

In 2008, the last budget of the George Walker Bush administration
total federal spending was $2.9 trillion. Obama has increased spending
during his four years by nearly $1 trillion. If the federal government
went back to the 2008 budget that would cut almost $1 trillion from
the current spending pattern (as noted, there is no budget). But were
things really so bad in 2008? I remember flying in 2008 and there were
no long delays because of a lack of air traffic controllers. The
national parks were open, and children were being educated. So four
years ago Bush was able to run the country on $1 trillion less, but in
2013 Obama can’t run the country on $85 billion less?

If Obama wanted to he could cut $85 billion from projected federal
spending and no one would notice except for the overpaid, underworked
administrators who would be laid off. The federal workforce is a huge
pork barrel. You have employees who work really hard and do an
outstanding job, and you have entire departments who do nothing
useful. Obama doesn’t want to eliminate the entire departments who do
nothing useful because that would be evidence that the federal
government doesn’t need to raise taxes. He is going to do everything
in his power to make the reductions in projected spending as painful
as possible.

One report said that although Air Force One will not be touched by the
reduction in the rate of growth that the Air Force might stop
providing planes for congressional junkets.

It is extremely hard to write about the sequester without writing
about cuts, but in reality there are no cuts. Imagine a child who
really wants a pony for Christmas and begs and pleads for a pony for
months. Christmas morning comes and there is no pony. Now can that
child say that she lost a pony? Can she say that she had a pony and it
was taken away from her? Not according to most people. But if a
federal department is expecting an increase and that increase is
reduced that is considered a cut.

Only in government can someone get 10 percent more than the previous
year and call it a cut in spending.”

“Most people in the country don’t read Under the Hammer, and far too
many simply take what is presented in the mainstream media as fact. It
is a sad day for journalism but, just like ABC editing Michelle
Obama’s comments, the reporting on the Obama administration is as much
fantasy as fact.

Even Bob Woodward felt the need to step up and remind primarily
reporters that Obama was the one who came up with sequester idea and
supported it.”

but if you are reading articles about Jackson going to prison you
don’t often see that job mentioned or any reference to what a close
relationship Jackson and Obama had at one time.

Jackson’s sister and Michelle Obama were good friends when they were
growing up. Jesse Jackson Sr. has said Michelle was over at his house
all the time as a teenager.

Does Barack Obama have any friends left in Chicago who aren’t in
prison? Obama’s close friend Tony Rezko, who was kind enough to help
Obama buy his house in Chicago, is in jail for fraud. Former Gov. Rod
Blagojevich is also in prison. Obama claimed credit for getting
Blagojevich elected governor. He used to say that he ran the campaign.
However, now Blagojevich is just some guy from Chicago that Obama may
have bumped into a few times.

Really, you look at Obama’s friends and you have to wonder what kind
of man we have elected as president. One of his best buddies is Bill
Ayers, who is an unrepentant domestic terrorist. Ayers participated in
bombings in that killed people and got off on a technicality. Back
when Ayers was running from the law, I’m sure he had no idea that one
day he’d be a good friend with the president of the United States.

Consider also that Obama’s brother, George Obama, lives in abject
poverty in Kenya. George Obama lives in a hovel made of old pieces of
metal and cardboard. In an interview he said he lived on $1 a month.
His brother is the most powerful man in the world and privately worth
millions of dollars, yet Barack Obama won’t send his brother George
$10 a year to double his income. It’s frightening to think of what
kind of man is running the country.”

I have read the reports, many misquoting NASA, of the meteors over Russia, Cuba and California being unrelated to the near earth Asteroid 2012 DA14. It appears that we are getting the same hasty unreliable reporting from the media as usual and possible ass protecting from NASA.

Near earth Asteroid 2012 DA14 was only discovered about a year ago. Smaller objects dislodged from the asteroid belt at the same time would not have been detected. Indeed, was anyone warned ahead of time about the meteors that just struck?

We know for a fact that asteroids sometimes travel in “families” of pieces that are the result of collisions. These fragments travel in similar orbits. The collision or catalyst responsible for dislodging Asteroid 2012 DA14 could have caused fragmentation of that or a larger asteroid and that “family” could account for the recent meteor strikes.

Why is no one reporting this plausible explanation?

“This is ANOTHER meteor which exploded in the sky – just two hours before a space rock crash-landed in Russia injuring 1,000 people.

The fireball – reportedly followed by a loud explosion some minutes later – was spotted above Cuba at 1am GMT yesterday.

That’s 6,000 miles away from Chelyabinsk where a meteor left a 20ft crater and caused a devastating sonic boom at 3.20am GMT.

China’s Xinhua news agency reported the bright spot in the sky was spotted in the Cienfuegos area, in central Cuba.

One eyewitness said his house shook slightly in the blast and officials are scouring for any remnants of the object.

Some meteorites can be very valuable, selling for up to £433 per gram depending on their exact composition.

Scientists do not believe the space activity was linked to last night’s 150ft wide asteroid 2012 DA14, which passed within 17,000 miles last night.”

According to media reports, a fireball streaked through the skies above California’s Bay Area Friday evening (Feb. 15), just hours after another bright meteor exploded over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk and a 150-foot-wide (45 meters) asteroid gave Earth a historically close shave.

The Bay Area fireball blazed up around 7:45 p.m. local time Friday (10:45 p.m. EST; 0345 GMT Saturday), NBC Bay Area reported. The meteor apparently had a bluish tinge and was visible over a wide swath of the region, from Fairfield north of San Francisco Bay down to Gilroy, which is south of San Jose.”
