This is the Citizen Wells open thread for Thursday, October 15, 2009. However, I have a request. Before the general election in 2008, we created the US Constitution Hall of shame. We contacted state election officials and congressmen regarding Obama’s lack of eligibility to be president and asked these public officials to honor and follow the dictates of the US Constitution.

As I have stated repeatedly, the biggest single problem in this country is Congress. They allowed Obama to be elected. They contributed to the mortgage and financial meltdowns and subsequently, in tandem with the illegal, corrupt and socialist Obama administration, exacerbated our financial problems with rampant government spending. Now they are trying to ram down our throats a unpopular health care plan that will greatly worsen our health care and financial situation.

Now, with the upcoming 2010 elections approaching,  is the time for united, single minded efforts, as Americans first, to change this un American, non constitutional, out of control Congress. We must put aside our differences of politics, religion and most certainly our egos.

Our efforts as well as other concerned Americans to contact congressmen and record their lack of respect for the US Constitution will be used as a springboard to move forward into and beyond the 2010 elections. We will use voting records on ACORN funding and the health care bill as score cards. Let them pass a health care bill.

 Congress has acted in utter defiance of the US Constitution and the will of the American public. Their day of reckoning is near. Let them ramrod a health care bill down our throats. We will replace these politicians with statesmen who will do the job they are elected to do.  

What I am asking you to do is this. Let’s begin the process of coming together to organize. This will not be easy and we will be fought to the end, tooth and nail.

First of all, provide your thoughts in comments here today. Begin compiling a list of trusted individuals, bloggers, talk show hosts, attorneys, etc. I plan to be part of this, however, we must combine our resources and efforts. When we choose who to align with we must be careful to pick only those who put God and America first, those with respect for the US Constitution and those who are not motivated by money.

Also, there are websites out there now that do a good job of covering certain aspects, perhaps they can be a central repository for that information.

SC Representative Joe Wilson, a patriot and statesman, will be our poster congressman.

    I have seen this woman in action on the House floor and she is one tough, common sense lady.

    I would put her right up there with Joe Wilson.

    P.S. She is currently on the top of Nancy Pelosi’s hit list. Any help her way is vital to keep her in office.

    CW–Great idea…and something that someone should have done long time ago re trusted sites, etc. Perhaps you should list the obvious ones so the thread doesn’t get bombarded with those. I nominate CW site first!! 🙂
    Then, we can work on the not so well-known or obvious. Also recommend listing by types of sites such as blog sites, radio shows, TV shows, etc, so we can be organized about this. Show identifying data such as phone numbers, email addys, etc. Perhaps, you don’t want to publish something that might not be so public. We could notify you first via this method, then you can contact us in return so we could provide privately.

    I am hopeful that then information I provided will be useful. I done this in the spirit
    of trying to help where Leo Haffey is concerned. I made no guarantees, nor did the judge. He simply stated that he would make some inquiries. While I have little knowledge about Lamar Alexander, I was given this name as a person to contact regarding Leo’s plight. When you DON”T know it is always smart to turn over all the stones, so that you might soon know. I hope that Leo is able to receive a little justice soon.     I have been in touch with several or Orly’s plaintiffs in her Barnett case, one state Rep. is very local to me.

    Also, I was asked to connect a popular conservative talk show host in the area to the tea parties-he ended up hosting one. I’m sure he’d come on board, if asked.

    It’d be no problem to reconnect with them.

    I think that at this point, we’ll need to list some common talking points so that our trusted colleagues could ‘speak with one voice.’

  28. But this isn’t the only Kenya paper that referenced Obama as a native. Besides this one they had a couple of others. Doesn’t Phil Berg have one on the banner at his web-site. It was on video when Obama went to Africa and skipped Kenya and it made the newspapers at that time also. It seems that Kenya is proud of it’s native son and has published this fact, possibly not appreciating what they are publishing. That or Kenya is determined to make the United States look like fools.

  35. Old Salt, my remarks about Alexander had nothing to do with you and the Judge you talked to. I lived in the same little(city) town that Alexander did, actually not very far from his residence. He is a Politician and has been a dirty one throughout from the state house to the Senate. I gave Citizen Wells an attorneys name and then called him myself. He has always been a fighter for things like this, however after reaching him, I learned he is under sanctions himself by a corrupt Judge.   36. Some times politics gets rough and tumble as we are well aware of. The tactics used against Jack Ryan and his former wife Jeri Ryan were unnecessary. These records were sealed for the sake of their 9 year old son. The only purpose served was to remove Jack Ryan. Again the innocent get punished. Just not right.

    For us to be more organized online, step it up on targeted actions. We have to focus our efforts simultaneously. Identify an elected official or issue that needs leaning on and act. Bloggers can help strategize how best to attack an issue.

    More cohesiveness with other blogs so we can spread info even faster. Find other blogs to bring in.

    Just as I reported what McConnell stated in my letter.

    List both R and D candidates who will be up for re-election. To me, if a R is rotten, then let’s get them out of office, and likewise if a D is good, perhaps they should be kept.
    I know that many on this site have much to report, which is good. But, I feel this is a topic that needs special attention and should be kept seperate from the daily blogs. Further, we need to target those who will be most vulnerable in 2010. Example: No hope Reid. Reid has to go in 2010 period.

    I’m from CA and we have some real dodo’s in Congress. Most should be in a rest home….. As I’ve previously stated its not easy to find qualified replacement candidates, but we need to get started.

    Here in Nevada Reid is working toward $25M in campaign funds. Danny Tarkanian has raised just a little over $200,00. I don’t know if enough people across the US want Reid out and will spend enough money to finance the winner of the Republican primary in NV. As far as I’m concerned the Pelosi and Reid elections are the two most important of 2010. If we could oust just those two it would be a huge message to the Dems and the WH. I think that is where we need to focus money and energy.

  129. Linda, I don’t discredit anyone, I simply do not use their “experience” as credential or just about anything else as “credential”, it’s part of what has gotten politics in the mess that it is – everyone wanting credential for personal experience.

    when a post and those who blog start speaking of “god” then an assumption is already thrown down. from that position much is inferred. to say that there is no “imposing” of ideology is simply not accurate as the facts show.

    the mere assumption of existence for anyone other than one individual who then speaks of it as though everyone just, of course, would be of the same mindset, is not about freedom.

    I would defend any person’s right to their religion or beliefs, irrespective of my own – what’s different about myself is that I find no need to reveal such since they are personal to me and no relevance in politics.

    there’s a difference between someone disagreeing, which I take no issue with, and someone espousing they uphold freedom when the facts do not represent such.

    mine is a genuine act as I respect any human being and seek to be certain my actions would not infringe on his freedom of choice to act in his own self-interest, so much as either choice is not at a cost to us without the consent of the other.

    can you say the same for yourself?

    morals espoused are mere weapons by which to elevate the self and manipulate others. why else would someone speak of such? what would be the purpose of spouting off about one’s values or morals?

    if a person is willing to elevate himself above others in one situation, what’s to stop him from doing it in all situations? to what end? to what degree?

    this is why politics is so ugly, everyone thinking they hold the key to morality and values, when freedom, which is self-evident, is what all humankind can reflect and decide value.

    it’s all about ideology, thinking you know how others should live, the way to live, even to the extent that you want me to believe it; somehow I’m lost otherwise, etc.

    well, that’s not freedom, that’s attempt to control and manipulate. it’s fine, for you. thinking everyone should is you acting just like liberals: thinking you know how everyone else should live – if they only would seek god, all would be right in the world

    how about if they would all just assimilate freedom which is self-evident and upholds all ideas of life.

    how about if everyone developed personal responsibility.

  131. Iconic Freedom: I do not believe “experience” should be excluded as a credential for forming an opinion and/or belief. While experience is limited and should not be the only qualifying factor, it is what people believe gives them a basis from which to form an opinion and/or belief. If I have not experienced “freedom,” how do I know what it is like to be “free?” My experience may only tell me it is the opposite of what I have experienced.

    I can appreciate his passion but he has contempt prior to investigation of understanding.

    Well…it seems to me that you have some sort of ideology as well that you are trying to impose here and I for one am not buying it…..you are welcome to your opinion though and have at it….whether you want to embrace religion or not is your choice but it is a fact that most of us here are Christians who embrace God as our leader first and country second…..we are not shy to tell you about it either as it is a sense of pride……the 10 Commandments use to appear everywhere in halls of justice and “IN GOD WE TRUST” used to be a motto that nearly every American embraced at one time…..the progressives have taken over and all we want to do is get our country and our morals back on track and as CW points out….for many of us….that means including GOD and religion in our ability to achieve freedom…..our inalienable rights first come from our creator…..re-read the Declaration of Independence and you will see…..this section is important….

    “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

    and so is the last part of the Declaration….

    “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

    Our founders were “believers” whether you want to admit to it or not…..that is a fact and it is also a fact that many believed our government could not stand up unless we were a religious and moral country…..thus the quote from TJ~~~

    Looking at the facts of today though that “limited gov’t, personal responsibility (I would add accountability to that too) and safety of the nation” is in obvious decline and felt by all. And THAT decline is owned by those with all of the obvious control of the gov’t. It’s theirs. It’s on their timeline. They own it – NOT the conservatives!!! Conservatives are basically powerless. There’s just enough of them. All others who back the policies of this decline are NOT conservatives. We certainly see that in both parties.

  143. The constitution is a complex edifice (the walls and roof, if you will) that was set on a foundation of Judeo/Christian morals. Without the foundation the edifice will crumble.

    One can imagine and hypothesize a constitution set on a different foundation. Or even a constitution was was self-contained and needs no foundation. But that is just an academic and philosophical exercise – not reality.

    It is not possible to be a ‘constitutionalist’ without understanding and accepting this fact. You can be whatever religion you want, or even an atheist. But you must accept that we are a Judeo/Christian nation. i.e. that the body of knowledge that is widely known as ‘Judeo/Christian Morals’ is an integral part of the constitution. You don’t have to believe it is divinely inspired. Just accept that it is there. Similar to how you might regard the 2nd amendment. I don’t think that these particular words are necessarily inspired, they are just ‘in there’.

    John Adams still said it best: “Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”

    Personally, I don’t elevate myself above anyone else and I believe in value for value in interactions. I give respect unless it becomes apparent you don’t return it. I trust (a little) until you show me I can trust you more or that you cannot be trusted.

    As for our Country, our founders embarked on a great experiment, a faith based idea that we are individuals with God given rights, not government given rights.

    It is those who have no higher power that seek to elevate themselves above other men.

CW, Et Al: in order to present a truly ‘united’ effort via this ‘open thread’ it seems imperative to weed out and clearly identify those of divided loyalties…ones not totally aligned with candidates and their supporters who stand together under the banner of ‘restoring the Constitutional Republic’. And that ‘call-out’ in and of itself may very well have the ‘appearance’ of being divisive…even difficult and provocative.

    So, I wonder if that can even be accomplished in such a ‘venue’ as this…aside from presenting whatever it is that it will take to make it simply ‘too hot and uncomfortable’ for those of divided allegiance to remain. Sounds like a monumental task to me. Or, maybe the unity can emerge in spite of the ‘feigned committed’?
    This still all seems kind ‘new and strange’, when trying to express thoughts without eye-to-eye contact and the added inflection and emphasis of spoken words. In order to not be misunderstood, sometimes you have to not only write what you mean…but also state what it is that you’re NOT ‘saying’….and that just becomes cumbersome; like right now! heh.
    (ah…’let my words be few’…)

    There are already a number of issues and topics that have been discussed and debated here for a long time…even ‘over-cooked’ by some measure;
    and there certainly have been very heated, even nasty, exchanges…some to the point of using ‘threating’ language. So I’m not sure how much of a ‘united front’ you hope to establish here: but it’s certainly a noble idea and ‘charge!’

    I appreciate being able to visit here and get perspectives on current news items in such a concise form….save for the ‘hunerts n hunerts’ of comments! heh.
