“Day Two Of Blagojevich Jury Selection Set To Begin”
“Before U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel begins questioning the next pool of potential jurors, prosecutors and defense attorneys will argue whether any of the 29 jury candidates who were interviewed Thursday should be dismissed because of bias.
Once that process is finished, Zagel will bring in another group of potential jurors for questioning.
Ultimately, the judge and attorneys expect to whittle down an original list of 100 potential jurors to about 45 likely jurors.
Then each side will be allowed to exercise peremptory challenges, which allow them to dismiss jurors without giving a reason. Defense attorneys get 13 such challenges; prosecutors get nine. The attorneys get unlimited challenges “for cause,” meaning there is a reason to believe a potential juror is biased.
The end result will be a panel of 12 jurors and likely six alternates to hear what is expected to be a three- to four-month trial. Jurors are paid $40 a day plus transportation costs for the entire trial.”
“Defense attorneys said both Rod and Rob Blagojevich will testify. They also said Patti Blagojevich will take the stand.
The defense has also subpoenaed White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.”

and ask them to advise Lakin and his attorney to use the evidence already in the public domain – Obama’s own admittance of his dual citizenship on his own websites which makes him ineligible as a NBC. The judge would then be forced into the position of having to either refute the president’s own admittance re his own history or take up the question of NBC definition!!! On his own he cannot decide that definition since historical precedent is there that demonstrates that no dual citizen has ever been President except in a later discovery of fraud in doing so.
There are just too many cases that have asked the court to help find the evidence that is needed through discovery and the courts expect the evidence to already be in the hands of those bringing the cases. Why do they NEVER present the obvious evidence in the “president’s” own words and let him hang himself???? Is Lakin’s attorney simply unaware of this … or clueless on the real NBC foundational aspects??

3) Charge CROOKED politicians and BO as co-conspirators in the commission of campaign crimes and you have a Criminal Case against BO that can be prosecuted in Court in your County Seat.
4) Of course, you add all the other Crimes that BO committed elsewhere to your INDICTMENT also. But to prosecute BO in your State you have to link him as a co-conspirator to crimes committed in your State.

“If Andrew Romahoff’s statement was read to a Grand Jury by a federal agent, that would be enough to indict Jim Messina for violating the Hatch Act. Then once he’s indicted he’ll be happy to speak to federal prosecutors so that they will go easy on him and then they can ask him ‘who else was involved in this? I suspect that several other members of Congress were promised jobs in exchange for their votes. Maybe that’s the reason some of them decided not to run for office this year. They think they have a federal position waiting for them come November.

Jonah, I heard the same thing and want to say in response to, “All the time…..this happens all the time….” – Yes, Yes – No doubt it does, and that is part of the reason this government is in the mess it’s in. Just because it has happened supposedly a lot doesn’t make it right. Other crimes happen all of the time, too – murder, rape, burglary, etc….. Does the frequency make it RIGHT? You know, I live in northern AZ, and although we have a number of illegals hanging around at times, there are many less; however, our mayor deplores that the law was passed. Can you believe that? Makes me sick!! We just installed a new council, however, and I’m sure that we will NOT try to avoid implementation of the law when it becomes active in July. Most of the council would be law-abiding, and we citizens will see to that, also.
I did hear, however, that 100,000 of illegals have left AZ for the homeland since the law was passed. This will reduce crime and save $$. And that is before any enforcement has taken place!

It is interesting that BO and the administration are taking a lot of heat about the spill and about the efforts of BP to stop the gusher. However, unless BO’s guys blew up the well in the first place (a real possibility), then this angst is misdirected. There is almost nothing the Federal Government can do.
The real problem is that the Federal Government ought to be more aggressive about cleaning up the mess, marshalling manpower, expediting red tape, etc.
Why aren’t people focusing on THAT? As usual, everything about BO seems distorted and makes no sense. It is like living in Alice in Wonderland (or a thick Tequila fog).
