I was encouraged to discover recently that a formal complaint was filed against Judge Gloria Dumas on September 21, 2009 by the Disciplinary Counsel for the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary. We will await the results and hope for justice in that matter. However, what is protecting defendants such as attorney Leo Haffey, from statements and rulings by Judge Dumas? I contacted the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary and spoke to Mr. Joseph S. Daniels about this problem. He informed me that it was not their duty. I spoke to a friendly press liason from the Nashville District Attorney’s office today. She was not aware of the complaint filed against Judge Dumas. Well, now they have no excuse. The district attorneys and prosecutors are officers of the court and their duty and obligation is to seek justice.

The Nashville District Attorney’s office is now aware of the formal complaint filed against Judge Gloria Dumas on September 21, 2009 by the Disciplinary Counsel for the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary. I notified them today, Friday, October 9, 2009. Joseph S. Daniels of the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary, is now aware that Judge Dumas presided over Leo Haffey’s hearing a few days before the complaint was filed. Once again, here is the handwritten motion written by Leo Haffey in jail.
Here is the formal complaint filed by the Disciplinary Counsel for the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary against Judge Gloria Dumas for judicial misconduct.
“1. Following a full investigation authorized under the provisions of Tennessee Code Annotated 9 17-5-304(b)(3), the three judge investigative panel composed of the Honorable Pamela Reeves, the Honorable Jean A. Stanley, and the Honorable Dwight E. Stokes found, pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated 5 17-5-304(d)(2)(A), that there is reasonable cause to believe that the Honorable Gloria Dumas has committed judicial offenses alleged herein in violation of Tennessee Code Annotated 5 17-5-302, and directed disciplinary counsel to file formal charges pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated § 17 -5-304(d)(2) (A).”

The more I read and experience the judicial system in Nashville and Tennessee, the more concerned I become for this nation and for citizens like Leo Haffey.

“Tennessee’s system of evaluating judicial misconduct is too secretive and does not include enough ordinary citizens in the process of disciplining judges, according to a new study by a legal watchdog group.
“Judges are being allowed to judge other judges in Tennessee when it comes to ethical breaches,” said attorney Suzanne M.
Blonder, senior counsel for Halt Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based, nonpartisan group that monitors accountability in the
judicial system. “That gives the appearance of impropriety and makes the system seem self-protective.
Tennessee’s commission responsible for overseeing judicial ethics is a 16-member panel called the Court of the Judiciary.
Halt’s 2008 judicial accountability report card, released this week, ranked the state’s procedures for disciplining
judges as 31st in the nation based on criteria such as public participation and transparency. Washington state’s system

The District Attorney of Nashville, TN has an obligation, as an officer of the court, to promote justice.

I remember Glenn Beck and other conservative radio hosts being very concerned about Harold Koh’s appointment a few months back. Have you read any articles about what the world thinks of awarding this moron a NPP? If not, I’ve yet to find one positive article on it.
He may have just shot himself in his size 12 feet by accepting this prize; people know he didn’t deserve it, and that it was a political move. If he had any integrity (which he doesn’t) he’d refuse the award and let someone whose *earned* it have it.
By accepting it, he’s showing that he received it only by his lying, twisted words, not his actions. He’s more of a fraud than I thought.

Yesterday, a few times, I had a little trouble getting on this site, as well. Generally it’s an indication of the amount of “traffic” on the site. Presently a number of other sites are referencing this site concerning Leo’s case. A number of us on here have also posted Leo’s info on other sites that we frequent. There are probably other, more broad technological issues that factor in, as well. What those are, I couldn’t say. CW & the techies on this site can weigh in with their expertise on this matter. So Nashville welcomed 9000 renters, home buyers, consumers, etc.
It is happening all over the nation, which is how this began during Clinton’s years, bring in illegals to ‘consume’ regardless of the negative effect to taxpayers footing the bill for their welfare and I bet most of those 9000 in Nashville receive one benefit if not more…..

the southern hemisphere’s flu season occurs PRIOR to the northern hemisphere. Their flu season was tracked and reported on a few weeks back trying to get a feel for what would happen here. How that relates to the map you posted a link to, I couldn’t say.
Sean Hannity said that Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for showing the World America’s Back Side. I’ll go even further. Jimmy Carter also won the award for the same reason. I think this is a very good idea. Too bad all laws aren’t written that concisely in the first place, then again too bad that all people don’t hold honor and integrity as a primary virtue. That is what this Obama fiasco is all about Plotters- How many (?) v/s WE THE PEOPLE. By stealth of night, and some fairy dust they are trying to make an ineligible candidate for potus look legitimate-with bizarre interpretations of something that resembles the Constitution. Spent untold hours and money on this plot for reasons unknown to the American people at present, could be one, could by several. They are much like the alchemists of olden days trying to turn lead into gold. It simply will not work.
One thing for sure they would not have put this much effort into doctoring documents if they didn’t have a mess to begin with in the first place. They can lie until the cows come home but they still can’t turn Obama into a legitimate potus. Never will. History will record this as the most corrupt assault to the Constitution that ever was. Their names will go down in infamy in our history and for what the sleaziest product ever to come out of that cesspool of corruption South Side of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. To say this one person is more important than all of our 300+million natural born or naturalized citizens all legal by the way is absurd.

I think we need to remember that the Southern hemisphere is going into spring, while we’re going into fall.
This H1N1 bug tends to like warm weather, so I think you’ll see a resurgence ‘down south’ as we progress through our ‘reversed’ seasons.
Also, I’m not quite sure of the reporting requirements in other countries…maybe there are a lot more cases, but the reporting of them isn’t quite up to the standard other countries have.
In the U.S., the age 5-18 crowd is still getting slammed according to the stats I got yesterday.

I remember a long time ago somebody put on a web-site you could type in Soetoro and be directed straight into the White House, I thought it was weird so I tried it sure enough it did. Months later it didn’t. Seems like he as used that name for eons, so what about the Barry Dunham material? Trying to keep all these lies straight is very TRYING. Accepting legal documents in that name is very telling also. JeffM – I agree, however, I would like to point out that I’ve been a strong defender of jbjd’s work b/c I want to protect her intellectual property b/c if it isn’t reported factually then it can screw up 18 months of damned hard work. And as a filer of a complaint, I want to be perceived by my AG as a credible source. Therefore, it is my best interest, other filers best interest, future filers best interest and jbjd’s best interest to keep a tight reign on how her work is presented by other well intentioned bloggers in the blogosphere.
That said, maybe Leo has a similar concern. Like you, I don’t know for sure, but if he does then I can relate to it.
However, I do want to point out the fact that Mr. Charlton made sure he did not present himself as an expert here. He requested in his post that an attorney weigh in and let him and his readers know if Charlton’s read was correct. Frankly, I found Mr. Charlton’s request both refreshing and humbling.
If Leo did post the above, I find his tone indefensible. To ban Mr. Charlton for simply asking Leo for his thoughts/opinion is rude and mean spirited. And like you said, it makes Leo look small and less credible. That’s too bad, b/c he’s got a sharp mind and we need him in this journey.
My hope is he didn’t post this and that ccwarrior can help us learn where it originated from.

I find some of Leo’s comments are very in your face and abrupt. He has been that way with others as he responds to the commentors at his blog. Having grown up and lived in NJ for 34 years I can somewhat relate to his style of speaking/writing, but in this very serious issue our country is dealing with I don’t believe we need to blast people also working their own angle to get to TRUTH. Should Leo have wanted to privately send his views to John and maybe make a mention on the blog is one thing. To do as Leo did could very well backfire in his own face. Just my take on things as I try to read and respect all the writers and commentors as I try to learn and stay current on the facts and the fiction of BHO.

Its time for the Speaker of the House to resign, as she neither speaks for nor represents the People’s House.
After months of calling Americans racists, Nazis, astroturfers, and radical right wing extremists, and accusing Tea Party patriots of inciting violence, how can Nancy Pelosi even dare to call herself the ‘Speaker of the House’? Of whose house? This must be The Audacity of Botox, puffed up beyond all belief.
Her promises, like her inflated self, are empty, full of hot, stale, air–look at what she promised in 2006. “the most open and most ethical Congress in history. “ Heh.
This woman from the smallest district in the nation, representing a tiny slice of America, is as far away from America as she can be. In fact, she is another one of the ’stealth’ ‘democratic socialists’ in the Congress, with known ties to and reverence of communist organizers in the United States.
This post is intended to lend weight to the effort to first, remove Nancy Pelosi as the speaker of the house, and second, to ensure her election defeat in 2010. Thankfully, the Patriotic Resistance has developed a resource page for ‘politicians to watch in 2010′ and one of them delves into Nancy Pelosi.
In my view, the work on Pelosi relates entirely to the Constitution and the protection of our Republic: we now have avowed communists in the White House, the Senate and House, and in the shadow czar government that Obama has assembled and that Congress is enabling.
Spotlight on the Speaker
(a) Extraordinary & Unnecessary Bias and Partisanship
One of the key architects of Obama’s ‘victory’ in 2008 was Nancy Pelosi. She, like many other so-called “democrats” as super delegates, chastised people to vote for ‘the people’s choice’ and then changed her mind and chastised people the other way when Clinton won the popular vote.
As Chair of the Democratic National Convention, she manipulated the vote on the convention floor in favor of Obama. Most crucially, Nancy Pelosi signed the documents allowing Obama to be on the state ballots as the Democratic Presidential nominee, the subject of the must read post by jbjd, The End Game. On January 8th, 2009, she presided over the joint session of Congress to certify the electoral vote despite the petitions of hundreds, if not thousands, of citizens to certify Obama’s eligibility before concluding the vote.
Nancy Pelosi has exercised no leadership during tenure. She has misrepresented legislation, imposed silly partisan rules that allow her to prevent legislation from even being presented on the floor or in committee by any opponent, and openly calls her constituents racists, bigots, and frauds.
This is conduct unbecoming of a “Speaker of the House”… acting like a Chicago thug transplanted to San Francisco.
(b) “You Lie!”
When Joe Wilson rightly called out ‘you lie!’ to Obama, Nancy Pelosi looked in disbelief, and of course, ‘made him’ apologize…for telling the truth of course. She is a petty tyrant as a Speaker, for sure. But when a fellow democrat Alan Grayson accused the republican health care plan of ‘wanting seniors to die quickly’–precisely the democrats plan–she refused to have him apologize. She refused to have him apologize for telling a lie, but demanded that Wilson apologize for telling the truth. Hmmm.
And I don’t believe for a minute it had anything to do with a Presidential address (Wilson) vs. a statement on the House floor (Grayson). “No Protocol Pelosi” has not a leg to stand on.
(c) The Speaker of the House is Calling us Idiots, and Worse
So Pelosi represents a tiny district in California, composed of a small, tiny, segment of the population, and she calls the rest of America thugs?

(d) The Speaker and Communism
In the Pelosi Dossier, Nancy Pelosi’s respect for and ties to several communist figures, including Harry Bridges, a union organizer in San Francisco, are exposed. Cliff Kincaid exposes Pelosi’s ties to the known communist family of the Hallinan’s, of San Francisco, and to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a member of the Socialist Democratic Party.
Regarding the Hallinan connection:
A 1961 subcommittee report says that Vincent Hallinan traveled to the Soviet Union with his wife to vouch for the legitimacy of the communist show trial of Francis Gary Powers, the American U-2 pilot shot down over the Soviet Union. Powers’ mission had been to document the Soviet missile build-up. It adds, “[Vincent] Hallinan’s glowing accounts of the Soviet Union and favorable comments concerning the fairness accorded Powers at his trial were sold in great quantity by the Communist Book Stores both in San Francisco and in Los Angeles.”
A 1953 edition of the report states that Vincent Hallinan was a participant in a meeting of the Committee to Secure Justice in the Rosenberg Case, a “Communist front organization.” The Rosenbergs were communists executed for committing atomic espionage against the United States on behalf of the Soviet Union.
A wealthy woman, Vivian Hallinan had contributed financially to one of Pelosi’s campaigns. Her only other political contributions on the federal level, as recorded by the Federal Election Commission, went to Senator Barbara Boxer and Reps. Barbara Lee and Ronald V. Dellums.
Regarding Sheila Jackson Lee, the connection is through the Campaign for America’s future,
Lee, who calls Pelosi “a magnificent woman” and “one of California’s greatest representatives,” began her career in the California state legislature as a secret member of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, a spin-off from the Communist Party. As a member of the staff of Rep. Ron Dellums, Lee was shown to have been collaborating with communist officials on the island of Grenada, according to documents captured after the liberation of that island nation. These revelations have not hurt Lee’s standing with Pelosi and other “progressives.” Indeed, Lee also served as the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Kincaid also points out a major flaw in the US political system:
Like the president, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not have to go through a background investigation in order to get a security clearance. This loophole in the law enables the president and members of Congress to automatically qualify for security clearances, even if they have controversial backgrounds and associations, by virtue of the fact that they get elected to high office in Washington, D.C.

* Create the conditions where it will be necessary for Pelosi to resign or for democrats to remove her from the Speaker position, or in the alternative, to make the Speakership extremely uncomfortable for her
* Create the conditions where she is a drag on other democrats in California and other states
* Create the conditions where she loses her bid for re-election

Doesn’t sound like Obama’s diplomatic skills are working here. This is a country they must keep close as their enemy, but it won’t matter. The Chinese have thousands of years of wisdom, experience and now wealth. People like Obama are not in the least a conundrum for them. They are very clever in the way they are positioning themselves globally and I doubt they will fail. If America wants to avoid this humiliating blow, the financial oligarchy will have to be neutered.

I am for anything that will help the cause and rid this monster of our White House….I went to jbjd’s site to see if I could file a complaint in Nevada but after a phone call to the SOS election’s office in Carson city and I received the certification I then discovered through jbjd that the state of Nevada is not applicable to filing one of jbjd’s complaints….we have to try and change the statutes or something so that this FRAUD does not take place again in future elections….this and other underhanded work by the DNC is what led to the Election of the imposter in our Oval office!!!

JS – couldn’t agree with you more. The work jbjd and others like you are doing to expose the election fraud perpetrated by the DNC, Pelosi and the state Party’s is critical.
I was talking to jbjd the other night and said ” the sheer magnitude and scope of this election fraud is mind boggling. Think about it, in order for the Democratic Club – from top to bottom – to pull off this type of election fraud must have taken months and months of planning.
They knew Hillary was going to win the primary which meant many of these asses would be out of a job and their socialist/marxist utopian vision would not be fulfilled (I know you don’t like her but let’s not make this about my like and your dislike. Let’s simply respect the fact we don’t agree. I’m never going to persuade you and you will never persuade me).
You know they had internal polling numbers telling them the other candidates didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell to win against her, so they did the next best thing – they intentionally developed an election plan based on fraud to get their marxist in there. They ripped the win out of her hard earned hands.
You see, the black voter was beginning to lose faith in the D party which means they were waking up to the bullshit they’d been fed forever and started drifting to other priorities. They didn’t vote like they once did. They weren’t volunteering like they once did. Churches weren’t as welcoming to D candidates on Sunday mornings anymore. Why? Because all they saw were more and more white men being elected. So they said enough. Who can blame them. I’d have done the same thing. Hell, I have done the same damned thing.
So, what did the D elite say to themselves, our base isn’t as strong and as committed as it once was, and we need to get the black voter solidly back in our ranks. Thus, Obama. Because he is perceived he is one of them said thank you D Party and returned in droves.
While these good American’s returned, millions of other Dem American’s left. These weak minded individuals thought we’d unite under their vision. Wrong!
So how did they steal the win? Here’s how they did it. In all caucus states ACORN/SEIU hired good and passionate folks from thug land, rented buses and caravaned to the caucus states. There, these folks bullied, strong armed, intimidated and ridiculed anyone who was caucusing for Hillary. I remain indifferent about Mike Henry’s Caucus Memo which basically advised the campaign to focus resources on the primary states and not the caucus states, but whatever his motive was, the campaign took his advice and the caucus states were left to ACORN/SEIUs thuggish tactics.
All the while Hillary was winning the majority of the Primaries. But the headlines were the caucus states. NOT the primary wins. Sure, the talking heads mentioned them but salivated all over themselves when announcing 0’s wins in the caucus states.
Then the DNC Leadership outright stole 59 delegates and awarded them to 0.
Then the DNC Convention. What a farce. Never in the history of the DNC has there ever not been a public roll call vote. Never. Yet, many of these Dems accepted Pelosi’s nonsensical declaration that 0 won the nomination and went onto support him for one reason and one reason only – he was a D.
And then the icing came when the DNC Leadership sent out certifications of nomination to the states under Pelosi and Germond’s signature omitting any and all language about 0 meeting federal/constitutional language regarding eligibility, that is accept for Hawaii. Nope. In Hawaii they left the Party Chairman out to dry. He is the one that signed the bogus cert stating “qualified under party balloting preferences” rather than the 2000 and 2004 cert language stating ““qualified under party balloting preferences”. He’s screwed. But was he screwed knowingly or was he threatened in some manner. Who knows.
The bottom line is Hillary supporters were screwed by the DNC Leadership b/c a) they had to rebuild their base so as to mislead them for many more years to come and b) they want their stupid, moronic and stupid marxist/socialistic vision for this country to be fulfilled. 0 was their guy so they did everything imaginable to get him in the people’s house at great friggin expense to their Party, to their base, to this country and so much more.
I want all of them tried and in jail! The Party needs to be cleaned from top to bottom and this time, all good people come to the table to rebuild it in their image as true and patriotic Americans.

BTW…. re that item you refer to….. things like these are in the eye of the beholder in many cases, and rather than seeing a “flag” it looks a lot more to me like something that came from a roll of toilet paper…… and upon closer scrutiny, it sure looks used…….at least that works for me……..

I’ve just received a letter from the U.S. Civil Rights Commission in which members demand that Attorney General Eric Holder launch an investigation of ACORN.
The money quote from the letter:
According to press accounts, a former ACORN board member –Marcel Reid– has asked the Department of Justice to investigate and root out ACORN corruption with a nationwide probe. We respectfully urge the Department of Justice to undertake a full-fledged, nationwide investigation of ACORN, including an assessment of whether ACORN’s conduct violates various applicable federal statutes, and to conduct its work with all deliberate speed. The integrity of our electoral system demands no less.
It is signed by commissioners Gerald A. Reynolds (chairman), Peter N. Kirsanow, Ashley L. Taylor Jr., Gail Heriot, and Todd F. Gaziano.

ARMY D.A.V-so our genius solution to this problem is to live in a lets pretend world. If I had to take lumps I would rather sooner than later. I especially would not want to be viewed as a traitor, enabling a traitor, committing crimes etc. All truth has a way of coming out, I would rather just face the music and get it over with, the longer the delay the worse the end will be. Mario Apuzzo puts out a rather compelling argument that according to Vattel, McCain could be classified as a ‘natural born’ citizen. Let’s take a look…
Under Sec. 217 of The Law of Nations transcribed by Vattel is reference to children born out of country but in the armies of the state. Apuzzo gives much weight to the phrase “reputed born”. What does this mean in legal terminology? I do not know, I am not a lawyer, and Apuzzo gives no definition of it (of which there are several for it at the time of the adoption of the constitution) in his article that he uses as the basis for his claim.
What I do know is that in the current FAM (foreign affairs manual), it clearly states that all children born in the Canal Zone, as well as the Republic of Panama are citizens by statute, Act of August 4, 1937, Sec. 1, 50 Stat. 558, codified at INA:
TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER III > Part I > § 1403
§ 1403. Persons born in the Canal Zone or Republic of Panama on or after February 26, 1904
303(a) Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States.
303(b) Any person born in the Republic of Panama on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States employed by the Government of the United States or by the Panama Railroad Company, or its successor in title, is declared to be a citizen of the United States.
We also know for fact that McCain’s birth certificate was filed with the Panama Railroad Company. If the natural born citizen were to apply, McCain’s birth would have been directly recorded with the permanent resident state of his parents at the time he was born.
As McCain said, judges have to faithfully apply the law that is already in place. Policies and personal choices are not to be legislated from the bench, therefore my conclusion of McCain’s ineligibility to be President stands as reported.
Well documented in Part II of my series ‘The Congressional Natural Born Citizen”, McCain had known of this problem decades before the 2008 election. There were numerous attempts to amend Article II as well as change the INA codified laws. They ALL failed and for good reason. Those in Congress, who held the gavel at the time, knew of the potential threat to our national security if the qualifications for President & Commander in Chief were open to those with dual citizenship.
As much as I sympathize with those who admire McCain for his service to our country (I am one of them), that admiration CAN NOT usurp the law. By trying to do so puts those people in the same corrupt circle of thinkers who pick & choose law at will for their personal benefit.
McCain has brought dishonor to himself by his own volition. It was his choice not ours and he will have to live with it every day for the rest of his life. He will also have to live with the irreparable harm that resulted from his willingness to skirt the law for personal political power which is in complete conflict of the opening quote of this article.
Leo weighs in regarding a request I had made to him regarding this issue. This response pertains to the UIPA requests that have been sent to Hawaii and Hawaii’s responses thus far:

If I’m reading this right, Title 8 talks about being a ‘citizen of the U.S.’-doesn’t say anything about natural born, just a ‘citizen.’ No act of Congress can ‘make’ someone an NBC…it’s determined by birth.

Ya, I have a bud in Asheville, NC, and she reported the same thing you did-not a tough summer at all!
In MA, June was a total washout-out of the 30 days, it rained 28 of them; July wasn’t much better. A few hot, humid days, but nothing much to carp about. I usually turn on the A/C in May, and shut it off in September to help me breathe, but I only used it sporadically this summer, mostly for the pollen.
It’s currently 43 degrees here, and dropping. twe is taking the Mums in, and they’re a very hardy plant.
Oh, and one heck of a hurricane season we had, eh? Global warming my butt . Al Gore is nowhere to be found. And that’s a good thing :).

What I do know is that in the current FAM (foreign affairs manual), it clearly states that all children born in the Canal Zone, as well as the Republic of Panama are citizens by statute, Act of August 4, 1937, Sec. 1, 50 Stat. 558, codified at INA:

I like the idea, God allowed him to be there, if BO were to have a true revelation thru the Spirit, he would own up to his lies and all. On October 6 the Washington Post reports on Dr. Orly Taitz, the California dentist and attorney from the former Soviet republic of Moldova who is perhaps the fiercest adversary of Obama in the “battle of the birth certificate.” The lengthy article contains numerous exaggerations and inaccuracies. The Post calls the Taitz charge that “Nobody has seen proper [birth] documents” a “breathtaking misstatement” when in fact Taitz is correct: nobody has been shown Obama’s long form birth certificate. “Obama’s staff has indeed provided an official record showing the president was born in Hawaii,” defends the Post—which then refutes its own statement by admitting that the document is a “computer-generated official certification of live birth,” and not a typical long form birth certificate. All that has been “shown” has been an image on leftist-sponsored Internet web sites—hardly proof, but sufficient for the Post. The article ridicules Taitz’s definition of natural born citizen as persons born on U.S. soil to citizen-parents. That is hardly an outrageous interpretation, and is supported by the contemporary writings of the nation’s Founding Fathers—which the Post no doubt did not bother to research. The author then relies on the race card to discredit Taitz, stating, “One might argue that her extra super-duper burden of proof has a racial dimension to it”—but offers no substantiation of its reflexive charge. As if a charge of racism is not enough, the Post blatantly suggests that Taitz is motivated by “…the PayPal button at the top of her Web site.” (Perhaps if the Washington Post had used some of its significant financial resources to research Obama’s past before the election, it would not now need to express its angst over “cluttering up the American court system.”) And while the Post takes delight in noting that Judge Clay D. Land “excoriated” Taitz in the dismissed Rhodes v. Obama lawsuit, it only casually mentions that “a hearing on a California case took place yesterday.” It apparently did not occur to the article’s author that her readers might be interested in knowing that Judge David O. Carter did not dismiss the case Barnett v. Obama and even scheduled a January trial date—much to the frustration of Obama’s taxpayer-paid attorneys. The author’s description of Taitz—“charming but ferocious tenacity, part Meg Ryan, part Madame Defarge”—may be exactly what makes her most dangerous to Obama. By failing to take the tall, Russian-accented blonde seriously, he may be underestimating her determinedness. After all, the revolution in which Charles Dickens’ villain Madame Defarge participated was successful.

Can a sitting president receive a Nobel Peace Prize?

There’s a problem for President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize victory and it’s not his inexperience. From Article I, Section 9 of “that neglected curio,” the U.S. Constitution:
“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
Per Wikipedia, the Nobel Prize is awarded as follows:
“…the Norwegian Nobel Committee consists of five members elected by the Norwegian Storting (the Norwegian parliament).[9] In its first stage, several thousand people are asked to nominate candidates. These names are scrutinized and discussed by experts in their specific disciplines until only the winners remain. This slow and thorough process is arguably what gives the prize its importance. Despite this, there have been questionable awards and questionable omissions over the prize’s century-long history.”
While the Norwegian Parliament has no say in who receives the prize, the role it plays in selecting the committee ties it to the state. Congress will have to vote on whether to allow Obama to accept the prize.
UPDATE: Well, Roosevelt and Wilson accepted it while in office, but does anyone know if there were similar questions being asked at the time?
UPDATE 2: Ed Whelan of the Ethics and Public Policy Center sends me this, U.S. Code Title 5, Part III, Subpart F, Chapter 73, Subchapter IV, Section 7342: Receipt and disposition of foreign gifts and decorations. (Of course.) It does specify that the President is included in this:
(b) An employee may not—
(1) request or otherwise encourage the tender of a gift or decoration; or
(2) accept a gift or decoration, other than in accordance with the provisions of subsections (c) and (d).
(c)
(1) The Congress consents to—
(A) the accepting and retaining by an employee of a gift of minimal value tendered and received as a souvenir or mark of courtesy; and
(B) the accepting by an employee of a gift of more than minimal value when such gift is in the nature of an educational scholarship or medical treatment or when it appears that to refuse the gift would likely cause offense or embarrassment or otherwise adversely affect the foreign relations of the United States, except that—
(i) a tangible gift of more than minimal value is deemed to have been accepted on behalf of the United States and, upon acceptance, shall become the property of the United States; and
(ii) an employee may accept gifts of travel or expenses for travel taking place entirely outside the United States (such as transportation, food, and lodging) of more than minimal value if such acceptance is appropriate, consistent with the interests of the United States, and permitted by the employing agency and any regulations which may be prescribed by the employing agency.
Depositing the money with the employer would mean, well, putting it in the Treasury I would assume. But what of the title of Nobel Prize winner?
(d) The Congress consents to the accepting, retaining, and wearing by an employee of a decoration tendered in recognition of active field service in time of combat operations or awarded for other outstanding or unusually meritorious performance, subject to the approval of the employing agency of such employee. Without this approval, the decoration is deemed to have been accepted on behalf of the United States, shall become the property of the United States, and shall be deposited by the employee, within sixty days of acceptance, with the employing agency for official use, for forwarding to the Administrator of General Services for disposal in accordance with subsection (e)(1), or for disposal in accordance with subsection (e)(2).
So to play it safe (and to get some kudos for constitutional-mindedness) he should have Congress do a quick vote to allow him to accept the award. (Perilous question: If Congress passes a resolution allowing him to accept this award before they pass health-care reform, they could face criticism for bad priorities. It also becomes even more of a political football.)
And, lest we forget, the law definitely appears to discourage this sort of thing:
(i) The President shall direct all Chiefs of a United States Diplomatic Mission to inform their host governments that it is a general policy of the United States Government to prohibit United States Government employees from receiving gifts or decorations of more than minimal value.

The California-based security firm, run by an ex-convict with a history of fraud convictions, is dropping its purported bid to take over a Montana jail — days after state officials launched an investigation and several key participants backed away from the controversial proposal.
American Police Force spokeswoman Becky Shay said Friday the deal with Hardin had “gone sour” after press revelations about the criminal past of company founder Michael Hilton.
The obscure company raised eyebrows last week when two of its new, black Mercedes SUVs bearing a “Hardin Police Department” logo drove through the city — which doesn’t have a police department.

American Police Force was drafting a contract that would have given it control over a $27 million medium-security prison that was built in Hardin more than two years ago, but has never held any prisoners.

The company faced a Monday deadline from the Montana attorney general’s office to demonstrate that it had financial backers.
Hilton has a history of fraud and theft going back at least two decades, including two convictions in grand theft cases, and allegations of being an con-artist who, according to some sources, utilizes more than 20 aliases.
Hilton signed a contract in September to take over the jail and run local law enforcement but it was never ratified.
Hilton acknowledged offering a job to the wife of the executive director of Two Rivers Authority, the city’s economic development arm. That official, Greg Smith, resigned Monday.

Now, love is truly more than that nice feeling we have for family and friends. It is wishing the best for them, which is eternal happiness in God. Sometimes, it is only through “tough love” that people understand what true love is. That can mean owning up to your actions and being responsible/making restitution for them. Believe me, I’m not a fan of O’s, by a long shot. Truly what is best for the country, and for him, and is family for that matter (think of what kind of damage this will all do to his daughters when they grow up and learn the truth) is to step down and be responsible for his actions/inaction. That’s a very tough thing to do when you are wrong. It takes a very big person to do it on their own.

that’s what the million plus people on the face book link I posted are praying for. Him to turn to God and repent. and for whatever remaining days he has in office to be convicted by the H Spirit to do God’s will in regards to eliminating abortion etc, the rest of whatever he makes decisions on.

DAR mom-When I was a small child around 4-5 I saw something very traumatic to me at least. It was at either the Museum of Science and Industry or the Field Museum in Chicago. This was before that horrendous operation “abortion” was “legalized”. It was babies in bell jars at various stages of development, there were maybe 9. I saw them and I’ll never forget thinking that’s some ladies baby. I was heartbroken. I assume they were miscarriages, but I don’t know. I absolutely do not know who could perform these operations-I just don’t– no wonder so many of those who do them become hooked on drugs and alcohol, well the conscience cannot be dulled by any substance on this Earth. Only the power of God’s Mercy when a person asks God’s forgiveness with a contrite heart.

Many folks I have met, read about, heard speak etc in my couple of years of being alive thru Christ, were in jail and criminal in many ways, They are now completely living for God.
Not possible in their own power, only happened thru God’s help.
Maybe I need to put it this way – I believe until the day we die – we are striving to live our lives through the example Christ gave us and I do not presume I will have tomorrow to get it right . I must be always trying , striving to be a saint even though I am not .
There are some who are incapable of hearing the truth and realistically the one sitting in leadership capacity of our country is one – and how many is he leading down that illgotten path to destruction through his pretty voice and smooth walk BUT he believes in killing the most helpless , the most vulnerable , the most weak – sometimes love is extremely tough and what is right is the hardest thing to do …. he alighns himself with the most evil – he doesn’t seek sacrifice – he seeks power , admiration , – mans worldy materilistic pursuit – I do not pray for his demise – I pray our country be spared his ineptness , his lack of wisdom his weakness – he is not what a leader of a great nation should be therefore we need to replace him – still pray for all leaders but replace this one swiftly . Like David and Golith / Sometimes we pray like it all depends onGod but act like it all depends on us.

Magna….I’m with you….I think we need to mount a campaign to him and publicize it….I for one am going to send that information out to all of my contacts tomorrow or Monday if I don’t have time tomorrow…..Glenn Beck should know about this if he wants to expose the truth….he should also know about jbjd’s research and complaints filed in some of the states now about voter Fraud in certifying ineligible candidates signed by PeLOUSY!!

For me Obama just splits-there is the person-there is the usurper. We can only follow our Constitution in regards to the usurper. Obama the person is a whole other issue, he will have to face the consequences of his acts. In the beginning he could have told the truth and simply said I am not qualified. He chose to break the law. This is one miracle along with many others on this website-one more profound than the other. This one is about the power of forgiveness when you find it difficult.
Marie M… is a working wife and mother of two young girls. Before getting married, Marie and her (now) husband (of ten years) were “living together in a typical American lifestyle”. They were married in an Episcopal Church and eventually Marie was led to “a conversion to the faith” after witnessing an alleged miraculous image in Clearwater.
Marie learned about the Divine Mercy through a television production hosted by EWTN. She learned the Chaplet, and the words of the inscription at the bottom of the Image “Jesus I Trust in You”.
“I prayed the chaplet occasionally and I taught this to my girls. That is as much as I practiced the devotion. It wasn’t a whole lot, but it was there and I believed!” Marie’s believes that it was exactly this belief and trust in Divine Mercy that brought about an experience that she says saved her marriage. This is her story.
“We have a neighbor family who were our friends. They are your biker type of people. We are not, but they have a little girl who I always felt sorry for and wanted to take care of her and watch her while her parents went out or worked late at night.
“T…, the mother, would always invite her life style into ours and I was patient with her for a few years, hoping and praying that she would change for the better. It turned out that things got really bad with the husband and wife, they took a turn down the wrong road. When I found out what was going on, I tried to counsel her the best way I could and gave good advice, but she didn’t listen and continued doing this horrible thing.
“Meanwhile, I began to have terrible nightmares with demons, and snakes and things that really scared me. So I would recite the Hail Mary, three times in my dream and those demons would flee right away and I would wake up. I told a friend of mine and she sent me the St. Michael Prayer – so I began to pray that prayer every night and over a few weeks, I noticed that if I forgot to pray it one particular night, then the dreams of the demons would come back. One time, while I was praying this prayer, I envisioned huge white wings and thought, ‘I would die if I ever saw St. Michael’.
“One night I got a phone call from my neighbor friend T…., she called me in despair and told me more of her problems. I began to get really frustrated with her. She was still doing this terrible thing and I told her she needed to stop and she needed to think about her daughter. She took offense at what I was telling her, my tone was different this time. She started to say things like, ‘Well you know Marie, it is happening more than you think and not everyone is perfect.’ I really did not understand what she was trying to tell me, but she said more and more, about how everyone is doing it and ‘even your husbands wants it!’ When she mentioned my husband’s name I began to get scared. I questioned her and she said, ‘I’m not going to say anymore about it’.
“I told her that she had better! So she explained to me about fantasies my husband had confided to her, and that my husband had confessed to her that he had cheated on me twice. My heart was being crushed during all of this. I knew deep down it was true. I cried for a few hours there, on the phone and it was about midnight when we finished talking. I then went into my closet crying and praying to Jesus and Mary to help me.
“I got up enough courage to approach my husband and confront him with T…’s story and he denied it exactly like she said he would. We went back and forth arguing and yelling. I told him that I wanted to get this over with right then, that night. I did not want to go on living a lie.
“We were both running to the bathroom for hours, with our nerves going crazy. Finally after almost three hours of debating, I just said that I didn’t need to deal with it now, but that I know that in the end when we both stand before God, we will be separated and it would all be on him. I told him that I did not need to put my trust in any man here on earth, only God and it was then, at exactly three o’clock in the morning, that I said the words of the inscription at the bottom of the Divine Mercy Image. ‘JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU. I prayed this prayer, said these words with all that I had in me, with all confidence.
“At that moment although it was not raining and there was no storm, lightening flashed outside, which both my husband and I saw. My husband turned to me and said ‘Marie, can you forgive me?’ I felt all this crushing pain in my heart lift. I felt this great joy. I told him , I forgave him and we held each other for a long time.
“But something had changed my husband. Something that brought him to admit what he had done and ask for forgiveness, and it came with that lightening. As the lightening struck, my husband saw an Angel with a sword (St. Michael). The Angel spoke saying ‘Tell her the truth’. The sword then fell to the ground in away as if to implicate he had to speak truth before it fell to the ground or the sword would pierce him as I felt pierced. At the same time, I felt all this inner pain lift and a supernatural joy and ability to forgive my husband and show true mercy.
“Since that night, I realized that it was not me that forgave my husband, but Our Lord Jesus, in me. I am not capable of such a thing. I now have a much deeper devotion to the mercy of Jesus, His Divine Mercy”.
You are right Michelle – I do not presume to judge Obama ‘s soul , I can only regrettably want him out of a postion where he is creating /causing great damage – I do not wish him harm – Our faith gives us strength beyond belief to forgive and hope for anyone who is lost to be touched by the hand of God – the Divine Mercy chaplet is a beautful meditative prayer and The St Michael / “defend us in battle ” prayer is very reassuring . When we are in most need , when we cry out we are never ignored – sometimes we simply must wait . Your story was beautifully sincere and honest . We do nt have a president with these qualities .

I am sorry you experienced that as a child. I can’t believe they would let children view those babies.
I cannot think of her name, a woman who managed an abortion clinic and was so focused on the money. I think in TX. If I can remember her name i will post info. She was so focused on making more money and opening a second location….
A Christian came in and told those working at the clinic that someone in the clinic would be leaving in 30 days. They laughed at the woman, but as God would have it the woman who was manager near the 30 days had an unexplainable change of heart and could no longer work there. She left and came to Jesus.
I am so grateful the Christian woman listened to God and walked in and spoke the words that stirred that conscience in the clinic manager. It;s sometimes slow work, one at a time, but it is happening as we all do the part The Holy Spirit stirs us to- that is the best we can do.

I’m not hesitating to pray for Barky, I’m flat out refusing. He’s not worth it. He *is* worth incarceration for life, or the death penalty.
Don’t mean to be overly critical of what you say however, I’ll direct my prayers to those who deserve them, and there are many; he’s not one of them.
I was thinking….any bill that the FRAUD signs that violates our rights especially the health scare fraud one….w0uldn’t we have standing…..just like my taxes….I am refusing to pay them until they prove we have a legitimate POTUS!!!

I think the one for my area is the Boston Globe building. Appropriate-the most liberal rag on the planet. They should’ve been allowed to go out of business back in the spring. Will get there if I can!

Guys, No one’s out of God’s reach. We’re all in His grip. remember “a rich man entering the kingdom of heaven is as impossible as a camel going thru the eye of a needle”. But that’s not the end of it. Jesus goes on to say “BUT with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”
I don’t think there’s a thing we can do about O’s soul or spirit depending on how you look at it. That’s God’s territory and He has that covered. I think what we need to focus on is stopping the destruction of this country by him and his mob.

I have spent many hours listening to all of the attorneys who are in play right now with the court cases involving the FRAUD in our house and I really believe that Apuzzo and Kerchner have the best chance of getting through. The are both level headed and they are the only case that was filed before the FRAUD took his oath. Their case is against Congress and the rest of them who knew the FRAUD was ineligible and did nothing to stop the Constitutional Crisis….they all should be locked up and the key thrown away….this is truly a despicable thing to do to a freedom loving country!!

This is true, and I do have problems with it……we are all made in God’s image…saying that then whereas we have minds for logic, therefore does God…….He’ll handle it and I don’t think that murderer, rapist, child abuser, Islamist terrorist killing hundreds will get to the heaven of my deserving………I think there is something for them other than the glorious eternity I will find.

The Montana Supreme Court just made it a whole lot harder to be a parent, and a whole lot easier to become one.
Every time a parent invites another adult into the home as a partner (even should no sexual relationship at all exist) there is a chance that the “partner” may eventually sue for custody of the children in the house.
This is so bizarre as to be unfathomable, but for legal purposes all that matters is that such a finding is based on some notion of “social justice” and not on law.
