From the ACORN archives:

“1 November 98

The [Working Families] party…was founded this year by an alliance of labor unions, politicians and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or Acorn, an advocacy group with low-income members…The party hopes to win 50,000 votes from union members, workfare recipients, immigrants, the working poor and other traditionally liberal constituencies…Its supporters say that the Working Families Party has the potential to energize apathetic or apolitical New Yorkers, especially poor ones, and to keep issues like health care and a living wage prominent on the Democratic agenda.”

The Working Families Party (WFP) (www.workingfamiliesparty.org) is New York’s most energetic, independent and progressive political party. Formed in 1998 by a grassroots coalition of community organizations, neighborhood activists, and labor unions, we came together to build a society that works for all of us, not just Wall Street CEOs and the well-connected. WFP is independent from corporate and government funding and in-addition we are community based; community funded and equally uninfluenced by both major parties. Our agenda focuses on economic and social justice, corporate accountability, job creation, environmental protection, and investment in education and healthcare.

For the past twelve years the WFP has been at the fore front of progressive politics,

Leading the fight and helping to frame the debate. The WFP has a proud record of fighting for issues that matter and has been instrumental in implementing key pieces of legislation such as Raising New York’s Minimum Wage, Enacting Living Wage Laws, Creating Thousands of Jobs In the Green Economy, Passing Healthcare Reforms on the Local Level, Fighting for Affordable Housing, Keeping Tuition Costs Low, A Progressive Tax Code, Reliable/Cost Effective Public Transit System, Public Financing Of Elections and Corporate Accountability . In addition, we have an unapologetic stance on supporting and pushing good candidates to enact progressive legislation

The WFP is seeking immediate hires.

You must be an energetic communicator, with a passion for social and economic justice.

Only outgoing, articulate dedicated, determined candidates will be considered for the positions.

For those candidates that qualify WFP offers substantial paid-training provided by senior leadership, on varied issues such as: advocacy, public speaking, mobilizing, fundraising, networking and organizing. “ACORN Spearheads Progressive Political Party in New York State

December 1998
Led by ACORN, the Communication Workers of America (CWA) and other unions, a new progressive political party called the Working Families Party is rapidly gaining a foothold in New York state. The Party’s first show of strength this summer was collecting over three times the required 15,000 signatures to get on the November ballot. Then, on election day, the Party turned out the 50,000 votes necessary to secure a statewide ballot line for the next four years.

Taking advantage of state law allowing fusion or cross endorsements, the new party nominated the Democratic candidate for Governor, Peter Vallone, and urged supporters to cast their vote on the Working Families Party ballot line. The ballot was so complicated that it took extraordinary effort to even find the Working Families Party and, at first count, it appeared that the effort failed to reach the 50,000 vote goal. But absentee ballots and a careful check of precincts that hadn’t provided complete reports finally put the tally over the top.

The results make it easier for the Working Families Party to run candidates in future races and demonstrate the strength of its grassroots base. Rather than spending large amounts of money, the Party built a “Committee of 1000″ volunteer organizers to identify supporters and then relied on door-knocking, phone banks, e-mail and large public events to get out the vote.

The two largest events of any of the New York gubernatorial campaigns were put together by the Working Families Party, an 800 person rally ACORN organized in Brooklyn’s Haitian community and a 750 person union-community rally co-chaired by ACORN head organizer Bertha Lewis. On Election Day, 500 ACORN members joined another 700 volunteers doing get-out-the-vote work.

While the Party had no expectation of its candidate defeating the incumbent governor, the election provided the vehicle to win a ballot line, define a progressive agenda and establish a durable presence. Having now created a strong coalition of white working class unionists and Black and Latino community activists, the Party has excellent prospects for future electoral success. The next major focus will be the New York City mayoral and City Council races in 2001.”

“POLITICAL UPDATE

April 1999
Working Families Party breaks
GOP hold on Long Island town

HEMPSTEAD, NY—ACORN and its labor partners in the newly ballot-qualified Working Families Party scored an upset victory in the municipal elections in Hempstead, Long Island on March 16. Taking advantage of New York’s fusion law that allows multi-party endorsement, two candidates ran for the Hempstead City Council on both the Democratic and Working Families Party lines. They both won handily over the incumbent Republicans, an amazing feat given that no Democrat had won a city council race since 1975. According to the New York Times, the victors credited their success “not to the county [Democratic] organization but to the fledgling Working Families Party.””

Chris Wallace Darrell Issa interview, Operation Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Attorney General Eric Holder congressional investigation

Chris Wallace Darrell Issa interview, Operation Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Attorney General Eric Holder congressional investigation

From Fox News October 9, 2011.

“Darrell Issa Talks Fast and Furious Fallout”

“The following is a rush transcript of the October 9, 2011, edition of “Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace.” This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.”

“CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: I’m Chris Wallace.

Congressional Republicans are demanding answers from Attorney General Eric Holder about a federal gun running sting gone wrong.
With “Operation Fast and Furious” in the crosshairs of investigators, what’s the fall for the Obama administration? We’ll ask the head of the House Government Oversight Committee, Darrell Issa — only on “Fox News Sunday.”

And then Chris Christie and Sarah Palin take a pass on the presidential run. Is the time right for another candidate to make a move? We’ll speak with a contender looking to fill the void, former Senator Rick Santorum.

Plus, the “Occupy Wall Street” protests gain momentum, spreading across the country. We’ll ask our Sunday panel if the new movement is the left’s answer to the Tea Party.

And our power player of the week — a pro-football veteran tackles an issue of life and death.

All right now on “Fox News Sunday”.

And hello again from Fox News in Washington.

The Obama administration is now being rocked by two scandals — “Operation Fast and Furious” and the awarding of a half billion dollar loan guarantee to Solyndra, a solar panel company that went bankrupt.

Our first guest is at the center of both investigation, Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Congressman, welcome back to “Fox News Sunday.”

REP. DARRELL ISSA, R-CALIF.: Well, thanks for having me on and covering two of the issues that are causing Americans to lose confidence in their government.

WALLACE: OK. Let’s start with “Fast and Furious” in which ATF agents allowed more than 2,000 weapons to be sold illegally to cross the border. They were going to try to track them to catch drug traffickers. They lost track of a number of them. Hundreds ended up with the Mexican drug cartel and two of them ended up at the murder scene of a U.S. border patrol agent.

I want to take you back to May when you had this now famous exchange with Attorney General Eric Holder. Here it is.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ISSA: When did you first know about the program officially, I believe, called “Fast and Furious”? To the best of your knowledge, what date?

ERIC HOLDER, U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL: I am not sure about the exact date. But I probably heard about “Fast and Furious” for the first time over the last few weeks.
WALLACE: Congressman, I understand that you are going to issue a new set of subpoenas to the attorney general this week. About what?

ISSA: About “Fast and Furious” and basically, at this point, about why are they denying knowing about something that they were briefed on? Exactly when the American people want to know how did it happen? Understand, we didn’t start off going after the attorney general or Lanny Breuer or anyone else in justice. We started off knowing that Brian Terry was dead, that a lot of —

WALLACE: The U.S. border patrol agent.

ISSA: The U.S. border patrol agent. And that a lot of weapons have been let to walk.

After that, we started being told things like by the Justice Department designated official that we never let weapons walk.

Now, we have literally e-mails in which they are concerned about so many walking and you said something and I don’t mean to correct you — but to expand. We didn’t just have a few not be tracked. The whole program was about not tracking them until they were found in the scene of crimes. And they didn’t just allow. They facilitated just one guy buy, one straw buy, over 700 weapons.

WALLACE: So, specifically, what are your subpoenas about?

ISSA: We want to know what and when they knew it. But more importantly, we have to understand — at what level of the authorization really come? It wasn’t an ATF operation. They were part of that. It was a joint operation in which DEA knew more than ATF.

WALLACE: Drug Enforcement Administration. ATF, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

ISSA: And, of course, these are all parts of the Department of Justice. And as we are beginning to see, and we’re not talking about Eric Holder at this moment, but the people in the top of justice were well-briefed, knew about it, and seemed to be the command and control and funding for this program. And any law enforcement person who’s ever been asked under oath or not under oath comes back and says this wasn’t the right way to do it.

Well, when did they know it wasn’t the right way to do it and why do they keep doing it?

WALLACE: Are you going to subpoena the attorney general to testify again?

ISSA: The Judiciary Committee in which I also served, that’s where that actual question got asked, is — has invited him to come and clear the record, because, clearly, he knew when he said he didn’t. Now, the question is, what did he know and how is he explaining why he gave that answer?

WALLACE: OK. The attorney general sent you a letter Friday afternoon, along with other top officials in both the House and the Senate.

I want to go through some of this push back. He acknowledges that several memos, and here you can see them heavily redacted —

ISSA: This is the way we usually get this, Chris.

WALLACE: — on these dates were sent to his office as much as 10 months earlier, not the few weeks before he testified in May of 2011. But he says — and I want to put up his comments from his letter, “I do not and cannot read them cover to cover. Here, no issues concerning ‘Fast and Furious’ were brought to my attention because the information presented in the report did not suggest a problem.

He’s saying I didn’t know about this program and I certainly didn’t know that we were letting guns walk.

ISSA: Well, I’ll take him at his word, but let’s go back. He answered before Judiciary Committee, myself, Jason Chaffetz, and others, that he didn’t know about it until two weeks earlier. That’s just disingenuous on its face.

Very clearly, he had to know when Brian Terry was killed and everyone realized these were “Fast and Furious” weapons, he had to know something serious had happened and that’s months before he says he knew. Now, if we assume for a moment he didn’t know, the question is, is he competent? If, in fact, a border patrol agent has been murdered, 2,000 weapons have gone, this program has completely gone off of the rails, why didn’t he know? And that’s probably a more important question for the chief law enforcement. If Lanny Breuer knew, why didn’t Eric Holder?

WALLACE: And Larry Breuer, one of his top —
ISSA: One of this top aides who is very involved much earlier on and works in the same office.

WALLACE: OK, Holder points out that top officials briefed you in April of 2010, just around the time that he was first hearing of all of this. He writes and let’s put it up, “I’m aware that Chairman Issa has said that he was not briefed on the unacceptable details of ‘Fast and Furious.'” In other words, the fact they were letting the guns walked.
Two questions, one: is that true? Were you brief and not told? And second, if it is true, how do you know that he was also not told?

ISSA: The interesting thing is he’s quoting a story that he planted, that justice shopped around to the newspaper. But having said that, I’ll answer it.

We were looking into the drug problems, we asked for a briefing. We got a briefing, including Kenneth Melson. We —

WALLACE: Of ATF?

ISSA: Of ATF, one of the people that knew about the program but didn’t all the other things that he ultimately read in a still sealed wiretap. That when he read the wiretap and understood how much they knew that this was deliberately letting bad guns go to the drug cartel, he became sick to his stomach. So yes.

WALLACE: But my question is — all right. So, you are saying you were not told about “Fast and Furious” and the gun walking. So, how do you know that he wasn’t told?

ISSA: Well, first of all, it was concealed from us by the Justice Department. That briefing, they were not allowed to know what Kenneth Melson later knew and made him sick to his stomach. Let’s understand, ATF is running an operation. They’re being told guns aren’t getting to the bad guys. Ultimately, the whistleblower came forward, when he realized, of course, guns are getting to the bad guys.

This investigation is not about an operation that was supposed to trace guns. This is about Justice Department knowing and this is where the American people have a right to know more, knowing that these guns were deliberately intended to end up in the hands of the drug cartels without any kind of traceability except if you find a gun in the scene of the crime. That is the reason that it is felony and stupid — and I use the word “felony” deliberately — program.

This should be criminal to let criminals have thousands of deadly weapons.

WALLACE: I have to point out, because Holder does in his letter, the Bush administration had a similar operation called “Operation Wide Receiver” that also, he says, let guns walk?

ISSA: Well, first of all, Eric Holder came in wanting to indict people from that administration. So, I think his standard of the — well, other administration did it, too, is not so good.

But understand, from what we discover from “Wide Receiver” and those, by the way, we have subpoenas for those and those documents have not been delivered. Very few weapons, very, very well-traced — overhead, observation and so on.

What you would think would happen if you let a weapon start to move, you trace it at every step. This was one where they let the weapons go and never looked until they showed up in the scene of Brian Terry’s murder.

WALLACE: Some of your Republican colleagues have called for a special prosecutor to look into Holder’s involvement. Some have called on Holder to resign.

Do you join either of those?

ISSA: Well, I’ve always taken the tack that the president picks the people he has full confidence, and the president still seems to have full confidence in Eric Holder — something I don’t share. When it comes to a special prosecutor, Eric Holder cannot investigate himself. Congress is well along the way of investigating this operation to find out what went wrong, who knew it and what we have to do in the future to make sure it can’t happen again.

If there’s a special prosecutor to look at the narrow issue of top officials who — and they beat political appointees, that’s a separate issue. Our investigation, along with Senator Grassley has to get to the bottom of this sooner, not later, because the American people and people in Mexico don’t trust their government right now.

WALLACE: Let’s turn to the other scandal, Solyndra. The Obama administration had a document dump late Friday, hundreds of pages of e-mails late in Friday afternoon.

ISSA: I don’t know what is about Fridays.

WALLACE: I mean, it’s — all administrations do it, to be fair.

ISSA: Fair.

WALLACE: Overview, before we get into a couple of specifics. What’s your take away from the document dump?

ISSA: Well, they are trying to bury it into the weekend. But just as the document dump a week earlier gave us the Eric Holder situation, what we are finding it is not just Solyndra. It’s a pattern of these sorts of investments. You know, understand, in the last day that the law was there, $4.75 billion was thrown into loans. And one of the questions we have for Secretary Chu is, tell us why that last day, somehow, you had everything you needed and you didn’t have it over a period of time before?

The American people have a right to know on the rare occasions in which their money is used to invest in private operations, if you will, take bets on capitalism, that is very well vetted, very well thought out and without political interference.

Solyndra is a story of political interference, picking winners and losers. It’s salacious because, quite frankly, there were a lot of people giving to President Obama’s campaign.”

White House emails reveal Solyndra Obama administration appointee ties, Steven Spinner, Obama fundraiser

White House emails reveal Solyndra Obama administration appointee ties, Steven Spinner, Obama fundraiser

From the Chicago Tribune October 8, 2011.
“Emails raise fresh questions on Obama energy loan”

“An Obama administration appointee at the Energy Department pressed White House analysts to sign off on a $535 million loan to Solyndra even though his wife worked for the failed solar panel maker’s law firm, according to internal emails made public on Friday.

The revelation adds new drama to a political battle over the administration’s backing for Solyndra, which has filed for bankruptcy and has been raided by the FBI. The newly disclosed emails reveal “a disturbingly close relationship” between the White House, campaign donors and wealthy investors relating to Solyndra, a senior congressional Republican said.

The emails show frequent inquiries from Steven Spinner, who was an adviser to the Energy Department on its use of economic stimulus funding to spur clean energy technology, on the Solyndra loan, according to a report in the New York Times.

On September 29, the Energy Department had posted a “fact check” on Spinner’s involvement in the Solyndra case on its website, explaining that he started his job after the company received conditional approval for its loan application.

The department said Spinner “was recused from engaging in any discussions on decisions affecting specific loan applications in which his spouse’s law firm was involved out of concern for the appearance of a conflict of interest.”

Allison Spinner is a partner at the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, which represented Solyndra.

Energy Department spokesman Damien LaVera said on Friday that the department’s ethics officer had cleared Spinner to “oversee and monitor the progress of applications,” although he was not allowed to make decisions on loans or their terms.

LaVera added that Allison Spinner had “agreed not to participate in or receive any financial compensation from her law firm’s work on behalf of any loan program applicant.”

Allison Spinner did not work on the Solyndra matter and the firm created an “ethical wall” between her and any of its work on Energy Department issues while her husband worked for the government, according to Courtney Dorman, a spokeswoman for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati said.

While Steve Spinner was at the department, Allison Spinner had agreed to not work on Energy Department issues for clients, and the firm did not discuss or disclose related issues or documents with her, Dorman said.

Steven and Allison Spinner did not respond to requests for comment.

‘BREATHING DOWN MY NECK’

The White House, which has aggressively defended decisions made on the loan guarantee, turned over the emails on Friday to the House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee, which has been probing the loan for the past eight months.

“The paper trail released by the White House portrays a disturbingly close relationship between President Obama’s West Wing inner circle, campaign donors, and wealthy investors that spawned the Solyndra mess,” Representatives Fred Upton, the panel’s chairman, and Cliff Stearns, the head of the investigation, said in a statement.

The emails show Spinner discussed the pending final decision often with Solyndra officials, Energy Department colleagues, and the White House budget office, the New York Times said.

“I have the O.V.P. and W.H. breathing down my neck on this,” Spinner wrote, referring to the office of the vice president and the White House in an email to an Energy Department loan officer.”

Morgan Freeman challenged by black tea party activist, Freeman called Tea Party racists, Ali Akbar invites Freeman

Morgan Freeman challenged by black tea party activist, Freeman called Tea Party racists, Ali Akbar invites Freeman

On September 24, 2011, after actor Morgan Freeman accused the Tea Party Movement as being racist, I posted the following:

“Morgan Freeman stated:

“The Tea Partiers who are controlling the Republican Party…their stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term,”

This is mostly true and is my position as well.

“Freeman said Obama’s election, instead of curbing racism, has “made it worse.””

Absolutely true!

“It is a racist thing,”

This is a lie!

1. Obama, with darker skin color, got the majority of the popular vote in 2008.

2. Obama is not a black man. His highest ethnicity is white!

3. Much of Obama’s past was hiddden or ignored in 2008. More Americans see him now for what he is, a narcissistic, radical, left wing incompetent.

4. I, like most folks in the Tea Party Movement, are not racist. My position is well documented.

So Mr. Freeman, have you been ,living under a rock for over 3 years?

Mr. Freeman, where do you get your information?

And for God’s sake wake up, Obama and the modern day Democrat party and such organizations as ACORN have been using people of color and poor people for years.

Morgan Freeman, would you care to compare research notes?

Or

Are you motivated by skin color?

Wells

I welcome your inquiries.”

https://citizenwells.wordpress.com/2011/09/24/morgan-freeman-calls-tea-party-racist-cnn-host-piers-morgan-get-this-black-man-out-of-here-freeman-racist/

A black Tea Party member has challenged Freeman.

From One News Now October 6, 2011.

“Activist to actor: Tea party not ‘racist'”

“A black tea party activist is calling actor Morgan Freeman to task for labeling the tea party movement as “racist.””

“Ali Akbar is a black tea party activist and publisher of TeaPartyBrew.com.

“It just got to my soul this time because this is a man I’ve looked up to,” Akbar tells OneNewsnow. “I didn’t grow up with a father so I looked for figures that I could find that were respectable, professional minority men — and he was one of them.

“So it broke my heart that he said that — and it was absolutely untrue,” the activist continues. “This is a movement I personally helped birth. I was part of the TaxDayTeaParty.com staff.”

Now Akbar is asking Freeman to attend a tea party event anywhere in the country. “He’s got to come and see that these are some of the most loving people he’s ever met, who are patriots just like him,” he comments.

Akbar has created a website called YourMoveMorgan.com to allow tea party supporters to send a message and a “Don’t Tread On Me” flag to Freeman.”

William Cellini trial opening statements, October 6, 2011, Stuart Levine drug use, Where is Tony Rezko?

William Cellini trial opening statements, October 6, 2011, Stuart Levine drug use, Where is Tony Rezko?

From The Chicago Tribune October 6, 2011.

“Defense, U.S. disagree if Cellini was shaking down or helping”

“After listening to a federal prosecutor for nearly 40 minutes lay out how Springfield power broker William Cellini allegedly plotted to extort campaign cash from a Hollywood producer, veteran attorney Dan Webb stood up and put a decidedly different spin on the story.

Cellini was only trying to help an old friend, Webb insisted Wednesday to the jury. And in the end, he did, Webb maintained.

“This story does have a happy ending,” Webb said with emphasis as Cellini’s long-awaited trial started in earnest following the selection of 12 jurors and four alternates.

The longtime statehouse insider is charged with trying to shake down producer Thomas Rosenberg in 2004 for a $1.5 million contribution to the campaign of then-Gov.Rod Blagojevich.

Cellini was no innocent victim of circumstances, contended Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory Deis in his opening remarks to jurors.

“The defendant didn’t slip, fall and find himself in the middle of an extortion,” he said. “He was in. Eyes wide open.”

Cellini’s federal trial on fraud and attempted extortion charges marks the last of the corruption cases arising from the scandal that toppled Blagojevich and many of his top aides.

On Wednesday, two rows of supporters, many of whom had traveled from Springfield, sat behind Cellini, 76, who has wielded influence behind the scenes in Springfield for four decades.

Webb attacked what he called six flaws in the governnment’s evidence, including the fact that Rosenberg won’t testify that Cellini directly asked him for money. Webb also said that it was Rosenberg who called Cellini for help when his investments at the Teachers’ Retirement System, or TRS, were threatened.

Webb also blasted Stuart Levine, the prosecution’s key witness, as unreliable. He warned jurors that they would be stunned by Levine’s “secret life” of serious drug abuse and “24-hour binge parties.”

But the prosecutor noted that secretly recorded phone calls between Levine and Cellini prove that Cellini was deeply involved in the extortion plot.

Deis portrayed Cellini as a consummate insider with access and influence who could simply pick up a phone and reach decision-makers in state government.

In a low and serious tone, Deis explained how Cellini’s longtime connections in state politics set the stage for the alleged 2004 plot.

After more than a quarter-century of Republican rule in the governor’s office, Democrat Blagojevich’s election posed a dilemma for Cellini, according to the government.

But he secretly made a deal with two of the governor’s key advisers, Antoin “Tony” Rezko and Christopher Kelly, that he would raise campaign money for Blagojevich to keep his influence at TRS, the prosecutor alleged. Levine was a corrupt member of the TRS board.

The government alleges Cellini had a financial reason for the move — an investment company he controlled made millions of dollars in fees from TRS.

At one point Deis noted Cellini’s considerable power by referring to his Downstate nickname — “the pope.”

Cellini, wearing a bright pink tie, sat calmly with his hands folded neatly on the defense table as the two sides told jurors what they believe the evidence will be as the trial unfolds over the next several weeks.

On a screen in the courtroom in the U.S. Dirksen Courthouse, Webb flashed a litany of Levine’s flaws, called him a con man and then listed five illegal drugs abused by Levine.

Webb told the jury of “24-hour binge parties” in hotels, including the infamous “Purple Hotel.”

“You’re gonna be flabbergasted by Stuart Levine’s secret life,” Webb told jurors.

The sordid details had played out at Rezko’s 2008 trial. Levine was a key witness for the government then as well.”

ACORN Behind Occupy Wall Street Protest, Obama Administration funding, Banks demonized and intimidated again, Obama community organizer tactics

ACORN Behind Occupy Wall Street Protest, Obama Administration funding, Banks demonized and intimidated again, Obama community organizer tactics

I was in the process of following up on Patrick Fitzgerald, the US Justice Department and who they did and did not prosecute during the 2008 election cycle and moving forward when I came across this article. It came as no surprise to me.

From Judicial Watch October 5, 2011.

“ACORN Behind Occupy Wall Street Protest”

“A famously corrupt leftist community organization with deep ties to President Barack Obama is largely behind the national movement to “end economic segregation” and social injustice in the United States.

Best known as Occupy Wall Street, the rowdy protests have received quite a bit of mainstream media coverage around the world. Besides New York, disruptive marches have been held in other major U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami and Boston and more are scheduled in the coming days.

Among the goals is to get major banks to stop preying on the poor and people of color, according to the organizer of a Boston offshoot of an Occupy Wall Street rally. The event, promoted as Take Back Boston, was organized by dozens of local community groups that claim big banks have a pattern of pushing “bad loans on people of color and the poor.” As a result of the “predatory lending,” foreclosures have skyrocketed in urban communities, the organizers say.

Among the Take Back Boston organizers is a spinoff of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Amid a massive fraud scandal and a series of criminal probes, ACORN supposedly dismantled but the reality is that it simply changed its name. In fact, Judicial Watch recently published a special report (“The Rebranding of ACORN”) about the organization’s transformation into various spinoffs and affiliated groups.”

Prior to the 2008 election, ACORN with the help of Obama and his left wing associates in and outside of Congress, intimidated banks into making loans to many who would not otherwise qualify. The economic downturn forced many into foreclosure, although many of them would have failed anyway since they were not on sound economic footing. Now the banks are blamed for a situation created by the very forces blaming them. Pretty slick, eh?

From Citizen Wells  October 8, 2008.

“Below is an exerpt from an official Acorn document.”

“ACORN Report
The ACORN Report is published by ACORN’s National Officeand contains up-to-date information. We have ACORN Reports indexed by date and topic available.”

“City Limits February 1999
During its 15 years in New York City, ACORN has helped squatters claim derelict city-owned property, forced bankers to invest in low-income communities, and organized a war against the city’s workfare program.

It’s also developed a reputation for no-holds-barred tactics—getting results through adversarial campaigns against bankers, politicians and bureaucrats using confrontation and concession rather than consensus. ACORN, unlike most social service non-profits, scorns charity. Their goal is to help poor people seize power.”

William Cellini trial jury selected, Opening statements Thursday, October 6, 2011, Teachers’ Retirement System extortion plot

The jury has been selected in the William Cellini trial and opening statements are expected Thursday, October 6, 2011.

From the Chicago Tribune October 5, 2011.

“A jury has been selected for the trial of Illinois powerbroker William Cellini.

Cellini, 76, is accused of conspiring to shake down the Oscar-winning producer of “Million Dollar Baby” for a campaign contribution to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Prosecutors say Cellini wielded influence over the Teachers’ Retirement System and plotted with top Blagojevich advisers and a corrupt TRS board member to try to extort a $1.5 million campaign contribution from producer Thomas Rosenberg.

The plot was hatched in 2004 after it was discovered that Rosenberg hadn’t contributed to Blagojevich’s campaign despite his investment firm’s extensive business with TRS.

The case is the last trial stemming from a federal investigation of the ousted governor, who was convicted of corruption earlier this year and is awaiting sentencing.”

“The case is the last trial stemming from a federal investigation of the ousted governor”

Perhaps not. Patrick Fitzgerald, Eric Holder  and Barack Obama should be next.

CBS reporter yelled and screamed at over Fast and Furious scandal, Sharyl Attkisson, Laura Ingraham Show, White House Nazi attacks

CBS reporter yelled and screamed at over Fast and Furious scandal, Sharyl Attkisson, Laura Ingraham Show, White House Nazi attacks

From The Daily Caller October 4, 2011.

“CBS reporter: White House, DOJ reps ‘yelled’ and ‘screamed’ at her over ‘Fast and Furious’ scandal”

“Did the White House try to strong-arm a journalist in the wake of the Justice Department’s “Operation Fast and Furious” scandal? CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson says government leaders took a very aggressive tack following her revelations earlier this year.

On Tuesday’s Laura Ingraham Show, Attkisson said DOJ spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler and White House associate communications director Eric Schultz yelled and screamed at her over the story.

“The DOJ woman was just yelling at me,” Attkisson said. “The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me.  Eric Schultz — oh, the person screaming was Tracy Schmaler. She was yelling, not screaming. And the person who screamed at me was Eric Schultz at the White House.”

Attkisson explained the vicious tongue-lashing:

“In between the yelling that I received from the Justice Department yesterday, the spokeswoman — who would not put anything in writing — I was asking for her explanation so there would be clarity and no confusion later over what had been said. She wouldn’t put anything in writing,” she said.

“So we talked on the phone and she said things such as ‘the question Holder answered was different than the one he asked.’ But the way he phrased it, he said very explicitly, ‘I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.’”

Attkisson also said the DOJ and White House representatives complained that CBS was “unfair and biased” because it didn’t give the White House favorable coverage on the developing scandal.”

It was clear to the Citizen Wells blog by at least July 8, 2011 that Eric Holder had commited perjury.

“Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says he does not believe Attorney General Eric Holder gave accurate testimony under oath to Congress during the House Judiciary Committee on May 3.
Asked in May when he learned of Operation “Fast and Furious” and “Project Gunrunner,” Holder claimed he ‘probably’ learned of it ‘over the last few weeks.’ In the testy exchange that followed, Issa pointed out that two Americans were killed by weapons associated with the botched operation, and that in the end, no major criminals were brought to justice. Issa also implies that the Department of Justice was deliberately slow-rolling the request for documentation about the program. You can watch the exchange between Holder and Issa here.

As for the Attorney General’s timeline of the last few weeks, Operation ‘Fast and Furious’ was reported in major news outlets across the country starting not weeks, but months before the May 3 hearing, including a 4-page article in the Washington Post in February naming the program and explaining how it was supposed to work.”

“Eric Holder made the following speech on April 2, 2009.”

“Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels.  My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion.  DHS is making similar commitments, as Secretary Napolitano will detail.”

“From the US Department of Justice website.

“American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009″

“The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides $2.7 billion to the Office of Justice Programs; $1 billion to the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program; $225 million to the Office on Violence Against Women; and $10 million to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.”

From the US Justice Department ATF plan June 1, 2010.

The Department of Justice’s (Department) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) received $10 million of the Federal aid issued through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). The Recovery Act provides additional funding for Project Gunrunner, an
existing ATF program, which is aimed at disrupting arms trafficking between the United States and Mexico.”

Occupy Wall Street protesters composed of Obama supporters Labor thugs and uneducated sheep, Imbeciles of America untie (unite)

Occupy Wall Street protesters composed of Obama supporters Labor thugs and uneducated sheep, Imbeciles of America untie (unite)

While viewing the Occupy Wall Street protest, I am reminded of a Far Side cartoon by Gary Larson.

Occupy Wall Street scenes.

The protest is composed of the usual suspects, Obama supporters, Labor thugs and uneducated sheep. Most of the protesters are the hard core Obama supporters who believe that the demonized Wall Street and Tea party folks are to blame for the economy and jobs situation. As Professor Kingsfield stated on “The Paper Chase” they have “skulls full of mush.” Glenn Beck stated earlier today that he was considering cutting off funding for his children’s college “education.” Beck is rightfully concerned. If the youth of today had been encouraged to seek the truth and make informed decisions, Obama would not occupy the White House. Of course it is not all Obama’s fault. The far left in cahoots with a incompetent Congress caused gas prices to climb and affect the price of nearly all goods. And let’s not forget banning coal mining which has led to importing coal in some areas.
They speak of destroying capitalism yet they enjoy it’s fruits.

Maybe if they were really educated they could understand what I just wrote.

Obama camp Nazi inspired Wall Street rage, Hitler Beer Hall Putsch, Diversions from Obama economy

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it”…Joseph Goebbels
“Propaganda must not serve the truth, especially not insofar
as it might bring out something favorable for the opponent.”
…. Adolf Hitler

I was listening to Glenn Beck this morning talk about the radicals who are protesting against Wall Street. He was spot on. He also spoke of the Hank Williams Jr. song being banned from the football game last night because Williams has compared Obama to Adolf Hitler. Both Williams and Beck are spot on.

As I watch the Wall Street protest thugs play out their anarchy I am once again reminded of the 1923 Hitler Beer Hall Putsch. This is all part of a grand diversion away from Obama’s failed economic policies and radical advisers once again much like Nazi Germany. In this case the Tea Party movement and Wall Street are being demonized, not the real problem, Obama.

From Glenn Beck October 3, 2011.

“Extremely dangerous people in Wall Street movement”
“The clueless media continues to try and paint the dopes protesting on Wall Street as some sort of heroic pillars of society who must be glorified for their bravery. The reality is far less appealing – communist hippies who hate everything about America and want to fundamentally transform it. How is it that the Tea Parties were ruthlessly scrutinized for their signs yet no one is concerned about the dangerous clashes and confrontations these radicals are having with police?

“I obviously believe that my ideas are persuasive enough and beneficial enough to society that people should subscribe to them at the conclusions of their own and their own sense of right and wrong,” one protestor said. But when he was asked if force should or would be used against people that disagree, the young man said “I believe that it’s the role of the government to use force.”

“We’re trying to accomplish the demolition of capitalism,” another protestor said.

“I want to replace capitalism with a more just economic model,” said another.

“Haven’t New Yorkers suffered enough for Wall Street? That’s why New York was targeted on 9/11,” said another.

“Now, if you think that they are joking, if you think that ‑‑ they’re not. They’re dead serious. There are extraordinarily dangerous people within this movement,” Glenn said.”

““If you think this is a joke, remember that Bill Ayers is involved. And let me remind you what Bill Ayers and his group, the Weather Underground, did. This is an FBI informant from the 1980s.”

Glenn then played audio from an FBI informant who reported on the Weather Underground:

I brought up the subject of what’s going to happen after we take over the government. You know, we become responsible for administrating, you know, 250 million people. And then there’s no answers. No one had given any thought to economics, how are you going to clothe and feed these people. The only thing that I could get was that they expected that the Cubans and the Vietnamese and the Chinese and the Russians would all want to occupy different portions of the United States.

They also believe that their immediate responsibility would be to protect against what are called the counterrevolution.

And they felt that this counterrevolution could best be guarded against by creating and establishing reeducation centers in the Southwest. Where we would take all the people who needed to be reeducated into their new way of thinking and teach them how things were going to be. I ask, well, what is going to happen to those people that we can’t reeducate? That are diehard capitalists? And the reply was that they would have to be eliminated. And when I pursued this further, they estimated that they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers. And when I say “eliminate,” I mean kill… 25 million people.”
