PBS, History Detectives, Wes Cowan, political views, answer from PBS

I watch a lot of public tv. I especially like the quality of NC public tv. When I watch a show, I do not wish to hear the political opinion or experience a political agenda unraveling, unless the show is about politics or the host has made it clear in the beginning. Yesterday, Saturday, February 23, 2008, I was watching History Detectives. Wes Cowan, one of the hosts, was narrating and mentioned that The Swift Boat Veterans had smeared the reputation of John Kerry and possibly cost him the election. This immediately caught my attention, because it is an outright lie. I know what a smear campaign is. We just experienced a smear campaign from the cowards and liars at the NY Times. They attempted to smear the character of a good man, John McCain, and it has backfired.

When the controversy about John Kerry surfaced again during his presidential bid, I decided to research the matter and bought the book. I also read independent material. Unlike the hypocrites at the NY Times, Kerry’s contempoaries and superiors brought the matter up years ago. One of the authors of the book, “Unfit for Command”, John O’Neill,  faced John Kerry on the Dick Cavett Show in 1971. Enough evidence to send anyone to prison has been produced by numerous witnesses from all walks of life. I will let the quotes from the book speak. If you have any questions, I urge you to do the research.

“I do not believe John Kerry is fit to be commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States. This is not a political issue. It is a matter of his judgement, truthfulness, reliability, loyalty, and trust–all absolute tenets of command.”

Rear Admiral Roy F. Hoffman, USN (retired), commander of the Swift Boats in Vietnam, 1968-1969

To really understand John Kerry, you have to listen to those who served with him in Vietnam.”

John Edwards

“When John Kerry got his third Purple Heart, we told him to leave. We knew how the system worked and we didn’t want him in CosDiv11. Kerry did’t decide to manipulate the system to go home after four months, we asked hin to go home.”

Thomas W Wright, USN (retired), Swift Boat Commander

Lt. Kerry returned home from the war to make some outrageous statements and allegations. Numerous criminal acts in violations of the law of war were cited by Kerry, disparaging those who had fought with honor in that conflict.”

Lt. Col. James Zumwalt, USMC (retired)

“Kerry’s turncoat performance in 1971 in his grubby shirt and his medal tossing escapade, coupled with his slanderous liesin the recent book portraying us that served, including all POWs and MIAs, as murderous war criminals, I believe, will have a lasting effect on all military veterans and their families.”

Captain Charles Plumly, USN (retired)

The book, “Unfit for Command”, is loaded with commentary and facts from those that served with Kerry. If you have any doubt, I  strongly urge you to read it.

So, back to PBS, “History Detectives” and Wes Cowan. To state that the Swift Boat Veterans smeared Kerry’s reputation is obviously a lie. Is it the old saying, “birds of a feather flock together” i.e., “liars stick together.” Are we hearing from Kerry supporters that are also liars?

I demand an answer from PBS for the american public. Was this the work of a rogue writer. Wes Cowan, is this your work? Yes, we deserve an answer and objective tv programs. If the program has a political agenda, we should be notified.

And yes, make no mistake, the author of the statement proclaiming that the Swift Boat Veterans smeared John Kerry’s reputation is a liar. John Kerry alone, ruined his own reputation.

Iraq War justification, Iraq War reasons, can we justify, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Barack Obama

Below are some of the justifications for the Iraq War. What are your reactions to these quotes with 20/20 hindsight? Were we justified to invade Iraq? Were these statements credible and based on credible intelligence? Did Saddam Hussein use weapons of mass destruction? Respond with your comments.

1.  “We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the
stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass
destruction.”  “The chemical weapons Saddam has used and the biological weapons we know he has tested pay no attention to borders and nationalities.”

2.  “If diplomacy runs out, we have reserved the right to use
force and if we do so it will be substantial.”

3.  “No one has done what Saddam Hussein has done, or is thinking of doing.  He is producing weapons of mass destruction, and he is qualitatively and quantitatively different from other dictators.”

4.  “What we are doing is so that you all can sleep at night.  I am very proud of what we are doing.  We are the greatest nation in the world and what we are doing is being the indispensable nation, willing to make the world safe for our children and grandchildren, and for nations who follow the rules.”

5.  “Saddam (Hussein) must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.”

6.  “If Saddam can cripple the weapons inspections sytem and get away with it, he would conclude the international community, led by the United States, has simply lost its will.  He would surmise that he has free rein to rebuild his arsenal of destruction.”

7.  “Earlier today I ordered America’s armed forces to strike
military and security targets in Iraq.  They are joined by British forces.  Their mission is to attack Iraq’s nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.  While other countires also had weapons of mass desctuction, Hussein is in a different category because he has used such weapons
against his own people and against his neighbors.

8.  “Along with Prime minister (Tony)Blair of Great Britain, I made it equally clear that if Saddam failed to cooperate fully we would be prepared to act without delay, diplomacy or warning.”

9.  “The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi goverment — a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people.”

10.  “But once more, the United States has proven that although we are never eager to use force, when we must act in America’s vital interests, we will do so.”

Enron, US president, media bias, NY Times

I have seen this email before and I received it again yesterday and thought it was worth posting. You won’t read about this in the mainstream media. You will read malicious, smear stories about an honorable man, John McCain, in the NY Times.

How Enron Worked the President!

(This is an interesting bit of information that you don’t hear much about.)

1. Enron’s chairman did meet with the president and the vice president in the Oval Office.

2. Enron gave $420,000 to the president’s party over three years.

3. It donated $100,000 to the president’s inauguration festivities.

4. The Enron chairman stayed at the White House 11 times.

5. The corporation had access to the administration at its highest level and even enlisted the Commerce and State Departments to grease deals for it.

6. The taxpayer-supported Export-Import Bank subsidized Enron for more than $600 million in just one transaction.

Scandalous!!

BUT…the president under whom all this happened WASN’T George W. Bush.

SURPRISE!

It was President Bill Clinton!

Pass this on so the whole Country will know. The Media Won’t!

ARE WE REALLY READY

FOR MRS. CLINTON?

The Daily Dish, Andrew Sullivan blog, Hillary Clinton, Why she’s losing

Hillary Clinton and her presidential, or even candidate chance. Many of us are wondering the same thing. Is it over for Hillary Clinton. Obviously by the numbers, it is too early to tell. But, is the handwriting on the wall. I keep hearing people from diverse backgrounds say and discern the same thing, that Barack Obama my be more electable.

Andrew Sullivan of The daily Dish blog isn’t holding back, Here is a recent post of his headed, Why she’s losing, referring to Hillary Clinton losing ground to Barack Obama and why. Here is an exerpt:

“There is a huge desire among many independents and conservatives in this country to punish the GOP for their betrayal of core conservative principles and basic competence and decency these past few years. These folks are plentiful enough to jolt the Republicans toward McCain. But a lot of these conservatives and independents like Obama because he’s obviously a smart, decent guy, because electing him would kill off Jesse Jackson style racial politics for a while, and because he seems like a liberal pragmatist who’s interested in getting things done. A lot of people will tolerate a move back to the center, even the left, if it means an end to this awful period in history and a fresh start for the country.

That’s my sense of things anyway. The Democrats are beginning to realize their choice is between a loss and a landslide victory that could change American politics for a generation. Moreover, I don’t think Obama is an ideological figure who would govern in ways that would affront the center. I can’t know that, of course. But there is a reason George W. Bush was so dismissive of him. Bush also knows that Obama is a rebuke. Clinton, in contrast, is a peer.

There really is no reason to vote for the Clintons again. It’s all about them; and this time, it really should be about the country.

Rush Limbaugh, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Carbonite

Most people either love or hate Rush Limbaugh. I love what he does. My experience has been that he attempts to base his opinions on facts. Is he biased, of course. Everyone is. Is he an entertainer. Yes by his own admission. I have listened to Rush Limbaugh for many years. I have also listened to NPR for many years.

If you want complete analysis of politicians like Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, John McCain or Mike Huckabee or want to find out about the latest and best quality products, listen to Rush. I find that most people who claim they don’t like Rush Limbaugh, have either not listened to his show or listened very little. Of course there are people out there that don’t care about the truth. They of course hate Rush and the truth.

I have been listening to Rush talk about Carbonite for awhile. Carbonite is an internet backup service for business and individuals. I glanced at the writeup and it sounds like a great idea. Off site backup is a great idea.

Anyway, if you have any comments about Rush Limbaugh and his opinions or products, give us a yell.
