“Another union has lost its enthusiasm for ObamaCare – or at least for one major feature of the federalized health insurance scheme.
The National Treasury Employees Union, or NTEU, is encouraging its members to write their congressmen in opposition to HR 1780, a bill that would have federal government workers use health insurance exchanges to buy health insurance. (Their sample letter is below.) The exchanges would take the place of the Federal Employee Health Benefits program that currently provides insurance to Treasury Department employees.
The creation of health insurance exchanges was one of the key features of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare. The exchanges were supposed to provide a means for workers who did not have employer-provided insurance to purchase affordable insurance on their own. Under ObamaCare, members of Congress and their staffs are required to buy health insurance through the exchanges. HR 1780 would extend this to all federal government workers.
The exchanges, which were originally to be managed by state governments, have proved difficult to set up. Twenty-seven states have passed on creating their own exchanges, and another seven states (Illinois included) have opted for a partnership arrangement where the federal government will still take the lead in setting up an exchange – rather than take on the task on themselves. The creation of the exchanges is behind schedule, and many health care providers doubt that they will be functional in timeto prevent disruptions in health care.”

H.R. 1780 would put federal employees in a special class where they would be prohibited from receiving health insurance through their employer. It would treat federal employees differently from state and local government employees and most employees of large private sector companies who receive health insurance benefits through their employer. The primary purpose of the Affordable Care Act was to provide a marketplace for the sale and purchase of health insurance for those who do not have such coverage – not to take coverage away from employees who already receive it through their employers.

This subject interests me a lot. If you listen to TRUNEWS, the host cites many scientists that believe we are entering another mini ice age that seems to be cyclical. It appears to have something to do with decreased sun spot activity.

Jonah, did you hear Sean Hannity today? One of the young ladies from the college was on the show and said she & others were turned away from the door even before Obama’s plane had landed. They weren’t only turned away from going inside, but they were banished out of sight so they couldn’t see if anyone else had been turned away after them. She said there was a group of campus republicans who were doing peaceful protests in a designated area quite a distance from where the speech was to be held and they put away all their signs and things before heading over to hear the speech. They have no idea the reason they were turned away except that the police or secret service said it was to keep Obama safe. Safe from what? Opposing views?

I was watching the JEWISH VOICE this afternoon, and they had a guest on the show…Walid Shoebat. He is a former PLO terrorist,and he has written a book called “God’s War on Terror”. Shoebat made some statements which I have believed for a very long time, and if he has done his book as well as I think it is probable that I will own a copy in the near future. One of Shoebat’s remarks was that Turkey is STILL the CENTER of ISLAM. Now I know why US arms going to Syria were funnelled through Turkey.

I think that there is a large percentage of people who think that Walid Shoebat is is still a TERRORIST, and is trying to use the Western People’s Christian beliefs to twist their minds into an Islamic sort of belief. He does advocate a Sharia based system of law enforcement. I disagree with him in that regard,because Sharia will never be allowed to happen in the US. A group of people in Dearborn ,Michigan have already tried to force Sharia law into the Michigan courts.. They got a big surprise WE THE PEOPLE rejected it.

I believe you are incorrect about Shoebat advocating Sharia. I recently heard an interview in which he and his son exposed Glenn Beck’s belief in “Chrislam” as a total heresy. I can’t imagine that he would be in favor of Sharia. He is a believer in Christ I’m pretty sure.

I’m no legal expert but in my opinion those students had a Constitutional right to watch the speech. We’re talking about a speech given by the President of the United States to students on a public college campus. It was widely televised to the public. It was NOT a campaign rally given in the private home of one of his wealthy contributors. Security personnel violated the students’ First Amendment Rights to Freedom of Assembly and Freedom of Speech when they denied admission to students with tickets in hand just because their t-shirts represented opposing political beliefs.
Where is the American Center for Law and Justice on this one?

There is a current book out that explains ObamaCare quite well and it reveals what a total nightmare this program is! It is going to be one very expensive job killer to say the least and what with 30 million more people coming into this scheme plus 30 to 40 percent of out Doctors quitting medicine, any kind of health care is going to be very difficulat to get. 750 billion being taken out of Medicare, well that is one way to cut down on the population, just get rid of all of the old people! Federal retirees will rally take a hit if HR 1780 becomes law and forces all Federal employees and retirees to come under Obamacare. One would indeed be better off to movr down to latin America rather than staying in the USA. Obama is indeed making huge strides toward converting the USA into the world’s biggest banana republic!
