In my opinion, that statement alone tells me she is a coward and has no business in future politics. She was willing to go along with the game, until… And she had to point to Karl Rove and other Republican think tank groups as the blame?
In my reality world of business and personal life, I don’t blame other people for my failures, that shows lack of professional character on my behalf and poor judgment. I certainly wouldn’t consider someone that so severely lacks such minimum standards as a trusted leader of this Country.
Col. West was another prime example of the same.

Sarah Palin was the only reason I voted in 2008. McCain’s choice of her as a running mate, made me think we had a chance. In fact, in this part of the country, there were many signs on the highway and elsewhere that said “VOTE FOR SARAH” and not even mentioning McCain. McCain is a disgrace. An utter disgrace. I think Sarah felt, I’m sure a certain amount of loyalty to McCain. And I don’t think the defeat was a reflection on her, nor do I think it was a total loss. She has been very influential in shaping the Tea Party, and the 2010 election results. To bad the Republicans don’t appreciate what the conservatives gave them. I’m tempted not to vote anymore unless a third party is formed.

I agree in part. But a little late in the game to claim I wasn’t allowed to say something, or do something. That to me is not a leader. I understand she “went along” with it, but that is the entire problem with Washington in any circumstance , situation or delima.
So my question is this:
Did she care more about being a politician as a Vice President, or did she care more about being a leader to the American people?
She answered the question as the possible future leader of America. ” I was told I couldn’t”, “I was told by the elitist what to do”, “I was told”… ect..

I honestly don’t think any of the conservative base would have turned out for the 2008 election if not for Sarah Palin. I know I wouldn’t have. If nothing else, it prevented O from claiming a landslide, and therefor a mandate. But he acted as though he had one anyway. Which is how we got this God awful Obamacare…. which is how we got the Tea Party….. which is how we got the overturn of the House in 2010….. which is how we got these namby pamby Republicans who feel very comfortable in DC and don’t want to rock the boat, which is why certain people such as Rand Paul, (not perfect mind you) stick out so brightly…. which is why Christie calls him “dangerous”….. which is why we so desperately need a third party, because there is no difference between the other two.

Just my humble opinion, but, Sarah Palin was rookie in the game of presidential campaigning and she had “handlers” assigned to her. Further, I believe she was loyal to John McCain and taking the advice as it was given.
Once it was over, she came out swinging.
Sarah Palin was chosen deliberately to blame and I am so grateful that she was.
And insofar as being a “quitter” that’s what Hillary Clinton was when she shut down the Democratic Convention at New York when she was winning. She deprived half of the State’s delegates from coming to the floor. That was despicable and contrived. Even Ted Kennedy went all the way to Wyoming in the 1980 Convention when he was running against the incumbent President of his own party.
The Republican and Democratic Parties are the Twin Towers and they need to come down.

Why? Why was she forbidden to discuss the obvious subjects of his past? Did we see the liberals pull punches on conservatives? Did we see the liberals NOT release sealed records? Did we see attempts to keep sealed records, like personal IRS records and FBI records private under the last Democratic administration (Clinton)?
William, I have to disagree with you here. I don't see Sarah Palin making excuses, just saying I "Told you so" to those leaders in the Republican party. Many, Many of my Conservative friends have stated that there is no longer a difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. The actions of McCain, Rubio, Ryan, and others, strongly suggest that the impetus for the destruction we see around us comes from both parties. They have an agreement about the changes we are experiencing. What Sarah Palin is saying is that the Republicans and the Democrats are "in on it". True, she played ball when she was supposed to, and likely regrets it now. Would you have played it differently at the time?
Has anyone been thinking about how the administration targeted the Tea Party people specifically? Don't you think it is strange that the "Republicans" didn't get realize what was going on and say something early? They knew, they just turned a blind eye and let the Democrats break the law. That's why Obama calls it "Phony" scandals, because the Republicans, the Democrats, and everybody is in on it except We the People. CitizenWells writes about daily corruption and illegal activity, it's obvious, there is plenty of evidence, and yet nothing is done. This can't be possible unless all the big players are on the same page.
We need to start really thinking about what the real agenda is, and were it supposed to be going. We have been betrayed by both political parties, they don't care about us or America.

I agree with your comments pertaining to both parties being involved. I highly disagree with any persons notion declaring or even hinting at the fact it’s not Sarah’s fault in this case, whereby she is simply a victim of poor choices made by staff members and Republican analysts. I’m sorry Pete, but I don’t buy that kind of BS of an excuse from “Anyone” that is supposed to be a leader; especially when it comes to the United States of American, our land, our Country.
Our Freedoms and Liberties that made America so rightful and beautiful came from many – many Generations of those that sacrificed their lives and embattled themselves against significant odds – for us. They didn’t peddle when far out-numbered; neither did they quail to threats. They had honor, integrity and did what was right, regardless of the cost.
What happens when you elect U.S. officials that are supposed to represent the United States, that only coward down to the “I was not to say”, “I wasn’t permitted to speak”, “I wasn’t allowed to tell”, and except them to not only do what is right for our Country, but expect them to hold standards with our Global and international relationships? Even those who say they support limits on immigration, like Mr King, do not understand the Constitution and the Declaration nor Natural Law. A natural born citizen does not have this status bestowed on them by government. Other citizens may, but not those who are NBC, born in the US of two US citizen parents. No government law or action can bestow this status or remove it. Part of the great tragedy of our country is that few understand our Founders legacy, and fewer still will defend it. We have lost the Republic and cannot preserve it as a legacy for our descendants. At this point it seems that all we patriots have to call on now is Jesus. But His power is beyond our imaginations.

The Republican Party record on freeing the blacks and giving them a chance at the blessings of liberty far outdistances the Democrats, who seem merely to cynically use blacks and hispanics to maintain their tyrannical hold on power.
Sarah Palin was a feisty contender in Alaskan politics, even doing battle against Republicans in her own state. Then she was thrust into the national limelight as a candidate in the most important election in the country. She was no longer campaigning at the state level, but now was up to her neck in the mire of Washington politics, an arena that she had never battled in before.
Sarah was the new kid on the block, the newbie who lacked experience in D.C. She was a rookie in the big leagues so she played the game the way she was told. She heeded the advice of political gurus who had vast experience in the strategies of national politics. I don’t fault her for setting aside her standards and following the direction of the well weathered campaign strategists. Unfortunately her advisers stupidly succumbed to the Saul Alinsky tactics used successfully by the Obama camp.
Sarah got knocked down and came up swinging. She’s nobody’s patsy now. She got her mojo back and she’s Sarah the barracuda once again. She’s doing battle again with Republicans but this time she’s taking on the likes of Karl Rove and the Republican establishment. I have never liked the idea of having a third political party but I am disgusted at the Rhinos we elected to Congress. Maybe a third party is the direction we need to go. And perhaps that’s where Sarah is intending to lead us. She is still one the most influential figures in American politics.
Obama, the Fraud is taking us one step further into a dictatorship while Congress rolls over and plays dead. God have mercy on us and remember the remnant who have stayed true to your word.

I feel you. When you build or create something, and run a business, you have no tolerance for fools like this. We expect leaders to be people of honor and integrity, but have you really looked around lately? Do any of the CEO’s of Goldman Sachs, GE Capital, GM, well….I could go on for weeks….Do they seem to have any honor and integrity?
I spoke with one of my business friends this week and said that honor, integrity, your word, and doing the right thing for people were business characteristics that were a significant impediment to advancement and success now. Christian values won’t get you ahead in business anymore. He agreed with me, but we both agreed that we would rather be poor and have some honor and integrity. “Connected” individuals in my business all make ‘side deals’ and cheat associates and lie, as well as default upon promises, any time they can: 1) get a better deal 2) the consequences of breaking the original deal are less than the benefits of the new one. By the way, the number one way to break a deal is to malign the individual professionally that you have the deal with in advance, quietly, so that you can look like you were “forced” to break your agreement.
This is what America is about now. Don’t believe me, go out and look around. I will go further and say that outright that people are selected to advance by their ability to, lie and cheat, and get away with it. The ability to build and create, to make, to think independently, is less sought after anymore.
We have the same ideals, the same nearly ‘extinct’ set of values. We see Sarah Palin differently because you are likely older than I am. You have to swim with the sharks now, you have to know their game and play and get along, while inside you keeping your own ‘directional moral compass’. They picked Sarah Palin for a reason, she was an unknown that would have to choice but to go along. They didn’t expect that she would go only so far, and then buck the system. Both sides attacked when she quit playing the game, even attacking her children. Sarah Palin proved in Alaska that she can do the right thing, that she isn’t corrupt, she can fix broken things.
Frankly, I would rather it be like you stated. I have no illusions that the modern world isn’t about testing the steel before it’s used in battle, it’s more like the emperor has no clothes. Sarah Palin isn’t the problem, it’s a system that punishes people whom use a moral compass, rewards people like Barack Obama, and doesn’t produce enough to support it’s lifestyle then looks to cheat people whom try to do the right thing.

Sarah Palin believed that she could still influence from within. She discovered the hard way that that is impossible. So she now continues to influence from without. Anyway it’s still a needed voice even if it cries in the wilderness. She didn’t go into hiding like so many so protective of their reputations. We shouldn’t be trying to silence any voices against the opposition for the sake of some perfection. It’s still evidence of more courage than the status quo….even of those who simply criticize in comfort.

William, I understand your viewpoint, too; however, my age and life’s experiences tend to make me more empathetic with the very odd and difficult position she found herself in when chosen to be RINO’s running mate. She had taken on her own party in Alaska and had become the darling of conservatives, and consequently she was a breath of fresh air as she stepped on that platform the first time. Naturally we expected much of her.
The problem is that our godlike expectations and her comparable naivete in equating Alaskan politics to the national arena greatly affected the outcome. When she found out what the real truth was (far beyond anything she experienced before), what was she to do? Drop out? There is often a point of no return, and I think only a very few would have had the courage to do that. Too often, we view past events in the light of what we know today. I haven’t walked a mile in her shoes and therefore can’t be too critical of her re. the McCain campaign.
Having said that, I do question why she has not openly (to my knowledge) taken a visible stand on the eligibility issue. In that respect she seems wanting. She is a pit bull when it comes to certain issues and has a great deal of courage then, but I am still in a quandary as to how strong she would be in battles which she has not chosen. That is the true test of a person’s real integrity. Just my thoughts, as usual.

You are absolutely right…….when you pick a battle you definitely need to be familiar with the terrain upon which the battle will be fought…..in addition it helps to have a great deal of both general,and specific insight about the enemy as well.
I personally have NOT passed judgement upon Sarah Palin. I simply have not yet decided. who she is,or what she is. I need to see a real test of her metal before I will decide. Perhaps 2016 will provide such a test for her. But I have to say that I have my doubts.
Somehow I have the vision that the only successful candidate will be a person who simply does not GIVE A DAMN what is said about him/her,and is willing to assail the enemy in such a way that they have no avenue of retaliation, and is not afraid to tell the opposition to GO TO HELL, and will say what he believes at the outset and will stick to his committments. The last person to come anywhere near such a level was JFK. Yet we all watched his extra curricular activities, and saw some HUMAN WEAKNESSES. Maybe Lee Iococca comes then closest to such a person.

I’m really inclined to be in your camp about passing true judgment on Sarah. The story is not complete, and this is really a work in progress. Yes, time will tell. She has a bully pulpit and says many good things, but the way things are now, the media will continue to decimate her.
Got a ‘survey’ from the RNC in Saturday’s mail; they wanted to know what issues were important to me (a multiple choice thing) and of course, they wanted a ‘contribution’ to process my form. They told me that even if I didn not wish to participate, I should sign the form and send it back.
Bull chit! That form saw the recycle bin pretty bloody fast; I was so infuriated by it I even ripped the damned thing up into pieces before tossing it.
I am ‘Unenrolled;’ that’s what MA calls an Independent and I resent these maroons asking for a contribution to fill out a lousy form for a party I do not belong to. The Repubs are Democrap light, IMO; both parties are no damned good.

I have angst with anyone that is supposed to be a leader; whether they are the in private life, professional life, and most especially if you are considering being a leader of the Greatest Country in the World, the United States; yet have fear and more concerned about you political career, or worse, you need to be told what to do as a leader. I don’t believe Kiltie was comparing Sarah Palin to Nazi’s. The point Kiltie is making was in reference to my comments whereby if you only take orders and do not commence in what is right as a leader, you are just as guilty. In Nazi Germany (which was Kiltie’s point) all the leaders and those that followed them, all the way down even to the simple guards, were found guilty of crimes. Their claims were that they were simply following orders, were told not to speak, couldn’t speak, was told not to tell, I couldn’t say at that time, ect…
That is the fine line in comparison that Kiltie is making. And Kiltie is correct. Many of them were hung, shot, or imprisoned for it. Here, they get a chance to be on T.V. and paid money for it. I have a big problem with that. I do not praise such actions of someone that is attempting to become a leader of this Country. But again, that’s just me, and my opinion.

I agree with you, but disagree that it’s the people in fear per se. I think it’s the politicians in fear, most especially the Republican party. I think the most important thing to lessen the incidence of these little vampires is to get rid of standing water around your environment; drain bird baths, old tires, and any containers that hold water. Standing water is their breeding ground, so make your environment hostile and they’ll go elsewhere.
EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) won’t show up for a while in the Eastern and Gulf Coast states, but it’s on the way. It’s far easier to prevent the problem rather than have to deal with it if you’re bitten by one of these bastids carrying these diseases.

And I’m thinking a good name for it would be the “Wacko Bird” party, in honor of the biggest disgrace in the Republican party…John McCain. That would be a label I would wear with pride. But what ever it’s called, it needs to be formed soon. Otherwise, I think many such as myself will no longer be politically engaged. We don’t even have the choice of the lesser of two evils anymore. Two-thirds of the poor blacks and single mothers in the United States, and more half of the low-wage workers without health insurance, will be DENIED any support for their health care under Obama’s “Affordable Care Act,” even while the cost of the coverage available to them increases drastically. A New York Times analysis of census data shows that the 26 states which chose not to expand Medicaid (a choice left to the states under Obamacare), comprise half the nation’s population but 68% of the poor, uninsured blacks and single mothers, who will not be eligible for coverage under the killer scheme.
The study estimates that eight million Americans are “impoverished, uninsured, and ineligible for help.”
The study did not even count the huge undocumented immigrant population.
It is no surprise that the winners in the Obamacare game are from Wall Street’s big insurers. This is inherent in the fascist (corporatist) nature of the plan, which unites the health insurance cartels with the government, in a drive to cut back health care for the “useless eaters” in the population.
Robert Lenzner of Forbes reported Oct. 1 that the “value of the S&P health insurance index gained 43%” this year alone. CIGNA is up 63%; Wellpoint 47%; and United Healthcare 28%. Since the passage of Obamacare in 2010, the stock values of these big firms have risen 200-300%!
United Healthcare, the largest insurer, with about 70 million insured, reported last summer that they had a particularly strong past year, with net income of $5.1 billion, up by 11% from the previous year; similarly for the others — even before the bonanza to result from the corporatist plan to force every American to buy their inflated products, beginning on October 1.
United Healthcare, it should be recalled, has as a top executive Simon Stevens, who was Tony Blair’s health policy advisor and the architect of NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) in 1999, the “reform” of the British National Health Service which imposed triage and genocide on the British people through selective denial of cancer drugs, surgeries, kidney dialysis, and other treatments.
