“How (and why) Arlen Specter lost”
“1. Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter’s defeat at the hands of upstart Rep. Joe Sestak made him the second Senate incumbent to lose an intraparty battle in the 2010 elections — the largest number since four incumbents fell in 1980.
Specter’s loss will be endlessly examined (and then re-examined) in the days to come but, at its root, there were two main factors to blame for it: the perils of party switching and an anti-incumbent national environment.
Party switchers almost uniformly struggle the first time they are on the ballot after the switch. The party they abandoned detests them and will do anything to try to bring about their demise while the party they joined is distrustful of both their motives and loyalties.
Specter never seemed to adequately explain to Democrats why he switched parties — beyond the fact that it would allow him to be re-elected. Sestak, in what is the early frontrunner for ad of the year, brilliantly exploited Specter’s seeming lack of principle on the switch with a commercial that said the incumbent’s party switch was designed to “save one job…his…not yours.”
Specter’s inability to articulate why he had decided to go from “R” to “D” after spending nearly three decades on the GOP side was compounded by a strong sentiment among voters that the people they have been sending to Washington aren’t getting the job done and a course correction is required.
Specter, 80 years old and having spent five terms in the Senate, was a living and breathing embodiment of the traits that voters across the country seem fed up with these days. Sestak, again, brilliantly played to voters’ resentments about politics-as-usual — casting himself as a part of a “new generation” of leadership who could bring about real change.
While Specter’s defeat is somewhat unique due to his party switch, the loss will have considerable implications on how incumbents — in both parties — run their races moving forward this fall. Running with the establishment is clearly out; outsider messages are, ironically, in.”
3. Ophthalmologist Rand Paul’s (R) victory in Kentucky and Lt. Governor Bill Halter’s (D) pushing of Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D) to a June 8 “runoff didn’t come as big surprises. More telling than the head-to-head battles in each state, however, is what the ballots cast reveal about voter intensity this cycle.
Paul’s win wasn’t just big — it was massive. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Paul won with 59 percent of the vote, 24 points ahead of Secretary of State Trey Grayson (R). Over 350,000 voters took part in the GOP primary — all of them registered Republicans, given the state’s closed primary system. As Post pollster Jon Cohen notes, that’s the highest GOP primary turnout in at least twenty years with about one-third of registered Republicans casting ballots.”

In addition, I have reason to believe that the alternate accounts were used to communicate with US Attorneys involved in political prosecutions, like that of Don Siegelman. This is what I have been working on to prove for over a year. In fact, it was through following the Siegelman-Rove trail that I found evidence leading to Connell. That is how I became aware of him. Mike was getting ready to talk. He was frightened.
He has flown his private plane for years without incident. I know he was going to DC last night, but I don’t know why. He apparently ran out of gas, something I find hard to believe. I am not saying that this was a hit nor am I resigned to this being simply an accident either. I am no expert on aviation and cannot provide an opinion on the matter. What I am saying, however, is that given the context, this event needs to be examined carefully. If you want to understand the context more broadly, I suggest you read this article I did a while back about the break-ins and arson cases that Siegelman and others have experienced.

It would be manifestly contrary to the objectives of those who created the Constitution, as well as those who were responsible for the Bill of Rights – let alone alien to our entire constitutional history and tradition – to construe Article VI as permitting the United States to exercise power under an international agreement without observing constitutional prohibitions.

Here is a link on some vote fraud stuff plus I’ve been reading about what happened in NY state. It’s a real problem. In my town the TRue the Vote effort is being run through the King St. Patriot organization formed by a Tea Partier and is a hubbub of conservative activism designed to counter the Organizing for America machine who are regularly outpacing conservatives in registering voters. They are being paid off. True Vote is trying to get people trained and prepared by describing the various positions needed at polls and deputizing volunteers so we can get out the conservative vote.They have a full lecture and various speakers from Tax offices that describe what is needed. In my county we are short hundreds of volunteers which will leave all kinds of possibilies for botched elections. If you think True Vote is a “bad ” organization you can simply volunteer on your own realizing that if we do not we may lose through fraud. I enjoyed learning what types of methods were used to steal elections.My husband and I are ready to help out come November. It is so vital.

Yes the SCOTUS are there for life. But when they MISREPRESENT the law of the land, or pervert it there is justification to throw the culprits out. WE THE PEOPLE OUTRANK even the SCOTUS,and just because there is law that says they are there for life DOESN’t mean that WE THE PEOPLE cannot change the law. I firmly believe that if ANY of the SCOTUS JUSTICES were to begin acting against the law of our land, we would be justified in removing him/her, whether he /she was tenured for life or not. The SCOTUS is allegedly the final bastion separating fact from fantasy,or vice versa. It is absolutely imperative that the SCOTUS remain intact,and un corrupted. If they become corrupt then they are NO different than the now corrupt Federal Courts, and we would be remiss in our duties as citizens not to act to remove them.
Will the veil of secrecy finally be lifted on this case?

It has been at least alleged (and considerably proved) that Obama was some sort of CIA operative during the first part of the 1980’s.
This COULD account for his absence at Columbia, the use of numerous social security numbers, addresses, etc. (NOT THE HIDING OF BC). Because in clandestine activities many normally unlawful acts take place under cover.
Now, IF that is true, then would that in itself be construed to be criminal? If Columbia were complicit in the coverup for national security reasons, would that constitute illegality? My
uneducated opinion would be “No”, BUT why now the secrecy twenty-five years later?
Thoughts anyone? (Oh, we all know that this part of his life is just a drop in the bucket compared to all the other charges against him)

Due to the nature of my jobs in Illinois (aircraft parts/tool and die-engravers at another) I met T-Men, G-Men, FBI, Federal Marshalls or Federal Air Marshalls, and FAA guys. As far as patriotism goes I would call these guys super patriots, super straight, very professional, by the book breathing included.
They were discussing conflict of interest re: oil spill last night on the news. Our FAA inspectors were turned over every 6 months at work, the first time it happened I asked my boss why? He said lest anyone get to “chummy” leading to possible problems.

I have made this claim in the past. Follow the facts. Obama, his mother, the treasury secretary all connected via the Ford Foundation. The Ford Foundation is/was considered a front for many CIA activities in INDONESIA, especially with banking, which his mother was involved with.
Now, Manning has witnesses that place Obama with the CIA during his Columbia years. That's to much to be just an accident.
My point, is that as an American how do I know that Obama and his campaign didn't receive funding from the CIA or CIA affiliated corporations? Answer, I don't. However, if Obama was CIA….and has never revealed this to the public, and got ANY MONEY from CIA associations, then HIS PRESIDENCY IS CIA OPERATION ON US SOIL. That is ILLEGAL.

(in years), and sadly I have to say there are certain folks who carry the conservative label who espouse to anti-semitism. Personally I had a friend who, although he has passed, would be right on the same page as we are, BUT a publication that he was sending out reeked of anti-semitism. When I pointed it out, he really did not accept my observation – in fact, he agreed with the publication, and he was a real Christian, but not fully enlightened. Some of your white supremacist groups are anti-semitic but are as passionate as we are about removing the usurper. Anti-semitism can take on many forms and approaches.

In Jewish prayer
The phrase tikkun olam is included in the Aleinu, a Jewish prayer that is traditionally recited three times daily. The Aleinu, said to have been written by the Biblical Joshua, praises God for allowing the Jewish people to serve God, and expresses hope that the whole world one day will recognize God and abandon idolatry. The phrase tikkun olam is used in the longer expression l’takken olam b’malkhut Shaddai, “to perfect the world under God’s sovereignty.” In other words, when all people of the world abandon false gods and recognize God, the world will have been perfected.
The word tikkun is grammatically in the gerund (meaning “repair” or “perfection”), and olam means “world”; the two words together (tikkun olam) are in the construct (i.e. genitive), and mean “repair of [the] world”. By contrast, the word l’takken (meaning “to repair”) is in the infinitive, and so l’takken olam in the Aleinu prayer means “to repair [the] world.”

I’ve found he has a lot of enemies who, for one unjustifiable reason after another, criticize him unmercifully. There is a lot of apprehension regarding Rand Paul. There are a lot of people who think that he is a carbon copy of his father. This includes me. While I am apprehensive about his overall abilities, I still see him as a viable option to the LIBERAL offerring. It is my belief that this is only the beginning,and/or the tip of the iceberg. I personally believe that in November we are going to see lots of LIBERAL blood running in the gutter. There are a number of them who still think they will be elected by landslides. Remember the timing of the Rielle Expose? It was right after Edwards dropped out & endorsed AKAbo, i.e., the dirt on Edwards must have been in retaliation for his endorsement of AKAbo. That is a lot of homework. I have actively been trying to understand the distinction of Zionism and the Jewish faith. As you state, Zionism is a political movement. Any “political movement” with influence on American politics should be open for discussion, no? That was the intent of my post. To make a stand on the Jewish homeland, I need to educate myself further- all I see now is suffering at the hands of governments. Ours included.
My husband and I are ready to help out come November. It is so vital.

America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:
# Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”
# Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.
# They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.
# They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.
# They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.
# They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag.
# They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.
# They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.
So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?
Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?
Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?
What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?
Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?
Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.
Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?
Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.
Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.
Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”
In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.

He strongly believed Christian’s had to work with the Israelites to ensure protection of the homeland so as to prepare for rapture – the second coming. Some research (mine) shows that Palestinians have been shoved out of their homes and pushed off their lands and are now using whatever means to try and retain some of their rights given to all of us by God….by fighting back.
Our country has supported Israel in that it is the chosen people?? ……..well, there is a difference in the Biblical Israel and the modern-day Israel.
Be very, very careful how we view Palestine and their fight for human dignity……we may be soon be in their shoes..

It is a sad fact that those illegal’s who are paid “Under the Table” are also the vast minority of illegal workers.
The reason Immigration will never be reformed, enforced, or addressed by both R’s, D’s, or the Fed overall is quite simple really:
Most of the Illegal’s who come here obtain fraudulent SS numbers and other credentials in order to work. When they do so, those employing them without question or verification will still deduct Federal, State, Local, and FICA Taxes from their pay as required by law. Likewise those workers rarely make enough money to be liable for any Taxes at the end of the year because they are smart enough to claim 0 deductions on their W2 forms. That means Government on all levels will take the maximum allowable Taxes from their paychecks during the Tax year.
That translates to the Federal, State, and Local normally owing them money at the end of a Tax year. However, because they are illegal workers, don’t want to make waves, and certainly do not want to draw unwanted attention to themselves; most will not file for their Tax Refunds. This has given all levels of Government a “Holy Cash Cow” influx of money into their General Funds coffers every year, for many years now. That is precisely why Illegal Immigration Laws will rarely, if ever be enforced in a manner that will truly make a difference.

Maybe I’m too simple minded but I don’t know how you can be legal/illegal-honest/dishonest/moral/immoral at the same time. As far as their treatment of Rove and Bush, I don’t know what the truth is. But I do know neither of them have made any effort to prove or disprove Obama’s eligibility, and have lost all credibility with me. And, I’m sorry Leo, as much as I appreciate your loyalty, the way I see it, they let Obama steal our election and squat in our White House just like everyone else in DC, and are therefore also suspect.
I don’t think TrueVote is as non-partisan as they claim, which is a shame, because if we don’t get control of our elections and voter registration, our elections will continue to be a farce. That’s my greatest concern and priority (right next to forcing the truth out about Obama’s fraud).

Repubs should cool it when it comes to predictions, because when they don’t come true the media uses it against them.
For example, why would the Repubs announce so confidently before the election that Murtha’s seat would be filled by the Rep. candidate, WHEN Dems out-number Repubs two to one in Murtha’s district, AND both candidates were strongly opposed to Obamacare. Since the electorate was mostly opposed to Obamacare also, why WOULDN’T they elect the Dem.?
If this type of thing continues towards Nov., Repubs could end up with egg on their faces. When they set the expectations too high, then any shortfall of those expectations is a negative when it comes to news reporting.

People all over America are discussing freedom’s future. In short, they are worried. In fact, many are actually talking about State secession. In coffee shops and cafes, and around dining room tables, millions of people are speaking favorably of states breaking away from the union. Not since the turn of the twentieth century have this many people thought (and spoken) this favorably about the prospect of a State (or group of states) exiting the union. In my mind, this is a good thing.
Even many of those who oppose the prospect of secession understand the increasing tyrannical nature of the current central government in Washington, D.C., and that something must be done about it.
