Half of the story is that 32,000,000 are going to be added to the alleged HC roles,and the rest of the story is that you,me and all other taxpayers will be the patsies who get to pay for it. Then Soetoro says if you like your present coverage you can keep it. Since when is he the one who decides that, His intention is to make your present insurance so expensive that you will be forced into the Government HC. The cost of your present Health Coverage (supplemental) will go up 40%. If you like me are on SS it will essentially cause your premiums to approx double, because your carrier will be forced by the government to cover a much greater amount of the cost. The idea is to eventually force the insurance provider out of doing any insurance business at all. Then you will be forced to either do without,and be fined heavily or buy the government coverage. Either way us seniors are going to lose big time.

And care will have to be rationed in those conditions. It’s the elephant in the living room.
And those “Cadillac” plans of congress itself will also be meaningless – something they didn’t plan for – the making of their own suicide!! Nancy et al will have to get in line too because their own physicians won’t be able to fit them in either since they will be mandated to see a pre-decided number of people or they won’t get paid!!!

Following the recent passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“the Act”), it is necessary to establish an adequate enforcement mechanism to ensure that Federal funds are not used for abortion services (except in cases of rape or incest, or when the life of the woman would be endangered), consistent with a longstanding Federal statutory restriction that is commonly known as the Hyde Amendment. The purpose of this Executive Order is to establish a comprehensive, government-wide set of policies and procedures to achieve this goal and to make certain that all relevant actors—Federal officials, state officials (including insurance regulators) and health care providers—are aware of their responsibilities, new and old.
The Act maintains current Hyde Amendment restrictions governing abortion policy and extends those restrictions to the newly-created health insurance exchanges. Under the Act, longstanding Federal laws to protect conscience (such as the Church Amendment, 42 U.S.C. §300a-7, and the Weldon Amendment, Pub. L. No. 111-8, §508(d)(1) (2009)) remain intact and new protections prohibit discrimination against health care facilities and health care providers because of an unwillingness to provide, pay for, provide coverage of, or refer for abortions.
So, IF they make those abortions seem to be for “health of mother” they’ll be paid for with taxpayer money, right?

I haven’t heard anything about the inclusion of birth control in this bill. It’s been a question in many minds for a long time. I can only guess that viagra is covered because it treats a physical disfunction, whereas birth control is not a medical condition. I hope this helps. Anyone else? Please feel free to jump in.

Good for you Jacqlyn Smith. It will be interesting to see how the state challenges go. The commerce clause gives a lot of latitude for Feds to regulate but probably not the right to require economic action (buying insurance) on the part of State citizens.

However, I do know for a fact most medical insurance these days do cover Birth Control in a variety of forms. I know our’s does, and has for the past 15 years.
Sue K – I would ask for an injunction to keep taxes from being confiscated, ask for an expedited hearing, and go all the way to Supreme Court. The thing with Appellate courts is they can choose to ignore. I would expect the Supreme Court to take this matter up given it’s immediate impact. If two Appellate courts in different jurisdictions come to different conclusions then the SC would surely hear the issue because of the conflict.
I have given up trying to predict what our so called justice system will do.
I’m going to eat some beef while it is still legal.

I agree that we need more affordable health insurance. I know we can’t afford ours. And I think no restrictions on pre-existing conditions is a good thing, but the rest of it STINKS. I’m having a hard time to find something else positive about it.

What would prohibit the doctors who will get out of this gov. run healthcare rather than go broke from “unionizing” – in a different sense – and form a second arm of private healthcare, based on private insurance again and have a shadow system for those willing to pay? People can’t be fined in this case since they will be able to show they are insured and the d0ctors can simply say they are opting out of gov. payment. If enough of them do this they will obviously get a big following, there won’t be enough to serve the number of patients the gov. wishes, and the rest of the public left will be the only ones to have some provision take care of them (like some conservatives want anyway) – clinics,etc.
Hospitals will go broke if there aren’t enough doctors cooperating with this Obamacare. They won’t have the expertise to operate sophisticated technology. Conservative doctors need to organize beyond the AMA (meaningless). Won’t do anyone any good to see doctors locked up. They need to use their present clout while it still exists.

As they justify most abortions as “for the health of the mother” they’ll be able to qualify birth control as for “infertility” reasons, etc. The creeps will get around any seeming “law” the way they slip in other stuff.

I have taken a time-out from listening. I think if they manage to pass this piece of junk, there will be a groundswell of opposition.
It may come in all forms; court cases, protests, angry calls to representatives, etc. However, nothing that happens today will change anything immediately. We have only just begun to fight.
People are engaged; they are listening to what is going on in the House today; the rudeness, the obvious bias, and the objections.
Besides, do you think CW is just going to sit back and take this? He won’t back down, and neither should we. Both he and many here are quite savvy in getting the message out. Mr. Charlton will let us know what we can do legally, SueK will keep us all healthy, GB America will remind us of our roots, Peter will remind us how fortunate we are, and Jackie will remind us to call our reps, withhold our taxes, and how to deal with the “idiot” staff, and Zach will write us a critique and summary of what it all means.
How can we go wrong? In the interim, we are all here for moral support so let’s help each other, mkay?

Ya know, I’ve never been much of a boycotter. I’ve just always been so into other people’s success whether or not I agreed with them or not. But I’ve reached a crossroads here. I LOVE going to movies…it’s one of my sweet pleasures in life. I’ve supported them even tho I know that it is a very liberal industry. I’ve turned my head while they make money off capitalism all while they bash it in the head. I’m ready to start starving the beast in all it’s forms at the moment. I suppose boycotts don’t really work…I’ve heard they just do the opposite of the goal…but boy, I’ve had it. Leftists are everything they “say” they despise. They are hypocrites of the worst kind. Soetoro is going to sign the XO AFTER the HC becomes law. This is because the XO is a sham. It cannot supercede what is already in the HC bill. If Stupak believes this then it seems that he might be STUPID.

US Govwernment CANNOT Constitutionally MANDATE anything against anyone. They cannot mandate a law to be used that DOESN’T EXIST. To require all people to subscribe to a government HC policy is clearly against the Constitution. I believe that all Americans should file a class action against this mandate immediately. According to Rowe Vs Wade the bill had to include abortion. In effect the HC bill is being illegally passed, because it is against Rowe vs.Wade. Krauthammer is the only one who has addressed this so far. I believe that it will get much more publicity, very soon.
