“Is This For Real?
It’s 11:15 p.m. on a Sunday night. I’m in a king-size hotel room bed in Athens, GA with a snoozing wife and a three-year-old who is still singing “he sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake” despite the long, fun-filled day she had. It’s late. And, yet, on one side of my sister-in-law’s fancy MacBook Pro is a live stream from the floor of the United States Senate.
It’s 11:15 p.m. on a Sunday night. And Florida Sen. Bill Nelson is speaking, right now, on the floor about the Senate’s health care reform bill, which will be voted on in a little less than two hours from now. He’s talking about how private insurance companies will be forced to spend 85 cents out of every dollar on patient health care costs. Where, may I ask, does our federal government have the authority to mandate the capital structure of private companies? Where?
Why else would the lights even be on in the Capitol building unless our government is up to no good? This is legislation which will not even come into effect until 2014, two years after the next presidential election, and yet the Democrats feel it so essential to work through the night as the last weekend before Christmas comes to a close?
Most of America is fast asleep. Most of the people whom these senators represent, even if they wanted to pay attention, are sawing logs (probably not literally, though I’m sure there are a strange few) and catching winks in advance of a working Monday tomorrow. These people have no business whatsoever working right now. It might be different if they were burning the midnight oil in an attempt to save the nation with legislation that would have an immediate impact, but they are not — instead, they’re planning the destruction of our economy and health care system through legislation which will not take effect (other than the spending aspect of it) for another four years. If this is a great bill, if it is so necessary, and if the 60 percent or so of Americans who vigorously oppose it just don’t have their facts straight, then they should be debating it during the day, when most of America is awake and attentive.

Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander made an excellent point — the reason they’re working now is because Harry Reid dropped a 400-page amendment on Friday, something that has been written and kept under the cover of darkness, and that they want to have it passed as part of the bill before Americans can figure out what’s in it.
I can count on the fingers of one hand when I’ve read 400 pages of anything in one day. One was Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park, which I read in the course of one night as a kid. Another was Bernie Goldberg’s Bias, which may not be 400 pages long, but was finished in the course of a single afternoon. Reading, digesting and researching 400 pages of legislative language in one day is nearly impossible.
Other things Alexander noted:
$470 billion over the next ten years will be cut out of Medicare, and about $1 trillion in total.
$548 billion in new taxes starting next year. So much for reducing joblessness. And the taxes on medical devices will be passed along to consumers, as will the increased regulation on private insurers, which will be passed along in the form of increased premiums. So much for reducing health care costs.
The CBO said that 9 million will lose employer-based insurance. So much for insuring everyone.
Changes the bi-partisan agreement not to federally fund abortion.
A political kamikaze mission toward an unfortunate mistake. Damaging to the Democrats, but worse for our country. Nicely put.”

Chris Dodd is up. I can’t even look at him, nonetheless listen to him, without getting irreversibly angry. The only time I want to see Christopher Dodd at 12:32 a.m., or frankly at any time of day, is if he’s wearing handcuffs. And not in a Barney Frank kind-of-way, either — I want to see Dodd being led into prison like Bernie Madoff.
More Ted Kennedy stuff. Good grief. If Ted Kennedy were a normal, everyday American in the aftermath of this legislation, he would have been cold and dead long before he passed with the benefit of the best health care that money can buy, the same health care innovation and ingenuity that the Democrats are poised to stifle, discourage and destroy.”

And, as if to show evidence of nothing good happening in Washington, D.C. at all, Harry Reid is up.
Every ten minutes, he says, another American dies because they don’t have health insurance. Oh, please. We have emergency rooms ready and able to care for illegal immigrants who have no identification, nonetheless insurance. What’s going to happen is that Americans are going to die because Democrats destroyed the American health care system. What’s going to happen is that Americans are going to die while waiting for six months for a biopsy.
I will dance a jig in my new living room next November when Fox News Channel calls the Nevada election for whomever is running against Reid. And then I’ll switch over to MSNBC–just for a moment–to watch them call it. In fact, I will keep champagne on ice to enjoy during his concession speech.
And, gosh darn it, health care is NOT a fundamental right. Freedom is a fundamental right, and what they are doing right now is destroying freedom in the name of the perpetuation of power.”

Here goes. Cloture on Reid’s amendment, and the vote which sets up a Christmas Eve vote on the destruction of American freedom and prosperity. I mean, seriously? They need to tear these people away from their families, just so Americans from coast to coast will be too busy eating dinner and enjoying their own families to notice?
Bayh is an “aye.” Burris is an “aye.” Byrd has been dusted off and wheeled in; he’s an “aye.” Bob Casey, supposedly a pro-life Democrat, is an “aye” to a bill which federally funds abortions. Susan Collins votes “no.”
Lieberman? Aye.
Lincoln? Aye.
Landrieu? Aye.
Nelson? Aye. Unreal.
Cloture passes by a vote of 60 to 40. At 1:18 a.m. Procedural votes will come at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday and 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The vote for final passage will come at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night. That’s Christmas Eve. It seems America will be getting a lump of coal in her stocking this year, and from this year on.”

1. Sen. Ben Nelson’s “Cornhusker Kickback.” The CBO says the Nebraska Democrat sellout’s special Medicaid expansion subsidy will initially cost an estimated $100 million.
2. New England’s Special Syrup. Vermont and Massachusetts will get similar (though less generous) special treatment by the feds in covering Medicaid expansion costs.
3. Corruptocrat Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd’s Christmas wish. A $100 million item for construction of a university hospital was inserted in the Senate health care bill.
4. “Some insurers are more equal than others” tax exemption. The WSJ reports that nonprofit insurance companies will be exempt from a new, nearly $7 billion tax to pay for Demcare.
5. The Frontier freebie. Several lucky states will see an increase in Medicare payments to hospitals and doctors, the NYT reports, — And which are the lucky states? The bill gives no clue. But the Congressional Budget Office has determined that Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming meet the criteria.”
6. More Democrat hospital bennies. Senate Democrats said this provision would benefit hospitals in Connecticut and Michigan.”
7. Bernie Sanders’ socialized medicine sop. He wanted a public option. Instead, he got socialized medicine satellite clinics funded to the tune of at least $10 billion
8. Fla.-Pa.-NY Protectionism. Via Politico: “Three states – Pennsylvania, New York and Florida – all won protections for their Medicare Advantage beneficiaries at a time when the program is facing cuts nationwide.”
And you know there are many more untold payoffs — paid by stealing your money — yet to be stuffed into this bureaucratic monstrosity.
Watching Fox news and just saw a commercial telling me that this is the health care bill we have been waiting for.
They must have made this commercial prior to the vote on health care. Talk about propaganda, this makes me sick.

I hope that the exhaust fan penetration is more than just a “pipe”. You more than likely have a 3 or 4″ diameter pipe going through your attic that penetrates your roof with a vent cap. Most vent caps have a damper. When the fan is on the damper opens, and when off the damper falls closed. If you do not have a cap of some sort, you should have one put on. The good news is that if there is no cap, snow will simply blow down the pipe and drip through the exhaust fan. The melted snow will accumulate on the exhaust grill and may do some drywall damage. Pull the grill straight down and allow everything to dry out.
If you are referring to just a plumbing vent, then you have nothing to worry about.
I would also recommend that you check your attic for blown in snow. Remove it as soon as possible to prevent damage.

One thing the Obama Democrats did succeed in doing, is turning other Democrats who once supported them, into folks that will not only NOT support them, but will actively work against them.
We will personally devote the next six years to making sure we do whatever we can to boot all 60 of these Democrats from the Senate, should they vote Yes and ram this monstrous legislation through. That means having to work against people we like, and a few we genuinely love. That breaks our hearts. It really is like having to stand on our principles and refuse to write those character statements for Zach, knowing we’d have to lie to give his lawyers what they needed. We just couldn’t do that, and we just can’t ever support any Senator who passes the Utopiacare bill.
EVERY one of these people is that 60th vote that passes the bill. Every last one of them is the reason this will be inflicted upon us. Every last one of them deserves to be defeated at the first available opportunity.
We won’t even get into the merits of healthcare reform here…because the problem we have with the actions of this Senate is on a much more basic level. The reason we are so furious is because these Senators should never pass ANY bill that’s been handled in the manner in which Harry Reid orchestrated Utopiacare in the Senate.

The following letter has been mailed to the White House. The time has, indeed, arrived for the beginning of revolt. Step #1 is a tax revolt. I’m pleading anyone who cares about their country – and I know all on this site do – to copy this letter and to spread it as far and wide as possible. We’re all trying to do something…please…spread the word.
Mr. Obama:
I’d love to begin this letter with ‘allow me to introduce myself’, but I’m obviously not that stupid. If I had, your unionist thugs, Black Panthers, and ACORN operatives – or should we just refer to the whole collection of them as your ‘internal military force’? – would be outside my house before I’d even had the chance to swallow my corn flakes the next morning. Suffice it to say, however, that by the time you’re reading this letter, it will have begun to go viral on the internet. I just love the internet.
See, what I have begun to stridently object to is your administration’s tactic of diversion and crisis, say, like, holding a vote on Cloture for healthcare at 1 am. I’m not fooled, and neither are millions of people across this country. Whenever one particular issue is at the alleged ‘forefront’ of the news (i.e., ClimateGate), I now see that your people are already onto the next one or two issues. The American People are always one step behind. I’ve decided, therefore, to move on this letter, because, quite simply, it’s something that your people were not expecting. There’s another word for this…what is it?…oh, yes…let’s call it a ‘politically man-caused disaster’.
Like many common sense, freedom-loving Americans, I don’t necessarily enjoy paying taxes. Nobody does. That being said, however, most common-sense Americans understand the necessity of paying taxes…after all, the government (a limited one, as laid out in the Constitution) has to be able to function. Indeed, even the true revolutionaries of 1776 had no issue with paying taxes per se; they simply objected to having taxes that they had never condoned heaped upon them without being allowed even one representative in the British Parliament. Ironically, one might put forth the argument that the people once again do not have a single representative. The colonists rebelled not over taxes – they rebelled over the point of being forced to live under the dictates of a soft tyranny.
With the advent of progressivism, communism, and Nazism at the beginning of the 20th century – no doubt in ideological reaction to the effects of the Industrial Revolution – we have witnessed (around the globe, not just in America) the drive for bigger and bigger government by those who have vested interests in power and wealth. These ‘players’ attempt to ingratiate themselves to the lower classes and the portion of the middle classes that are ignorant enough to fall for the rhetoric – either polished or emotional – that lambasts the ‘wealthy’, conveniently omitting that they themselves are also a part of the very class that they’re attacking. In its own way, it’s quite intelligent. Exploiting the sensibilities of the disaffected in populist outrage has always been the key to gaining and maintaining power, because, quite simply, there’s a lot more of those people than there are very successful, wealthy people.
Which, of course, leads my discussion to the current American political administration. Despite you promises of transparency, refusing to listen to the whims of lobbyists, and making sure to appoint people that have nothing to hide, you have surrounded yourself with a collection of outrageous tax cheats, no doubt expecting that the American populace is much too dumb to pick up on any of this, and, even if they do, who cares? We’re certainly well below your superior intellect. Don’t make me laugh.

Despite surrounding yourself with the likes of Tim Geithner, Tom Daschle, and Charlie Rangel (WRITING OUR TAX CODE!!), you expect that the people of this country – more specifically, the common-sense, conservative middle class – to fork over more and more of the wealth for which we work to feed our families so that you can pay for your potential centerpieces – universal health care (which any educated person can see through), cap & trade (based on a fraud), and amnesty (people who will be paying zero income taxes). You’re not really this stupid, are you? I don’t know…based on everything that I’m seeing these days, maybe you are.
Consequently, President Obama – if, in fact, you’re truly the president, which would open up a whole new ‘taxation without representation’ can of worms – I’ve decided to change my income tax filing so that I claim as many exemptions as I possibly can, and when income tax time comes, you’re more than welcome to come to get those taxes from me (or at least try), because I will not be paying them until which time you finally make the decision to behave like an adult and to actually lead your people as a president would.
I’m more than willing to spend time in jail, if it ultimately be necessary. Fear not, however…I’ve already taken pre-determined measures to ensure that my stay behind bars will, indeed, be a reasonably short one. If you doubt the veracity of my resolve, then I invite you to test me. I’ve a feeling, though, that there’s going to be so many Americans that follow the same course of action that I doubt you’ll ever discover the author of this letter. Good luck.
I truly regret that you’ve brought the American People and I to this point, but actions have consequences, just as elections do. Remember this – you’re not a god; you’re only a man. I fear NO man.

I worked out for 18 years at the same gym and same time as Arnold Schwarzenneger. I talked to him nearly every day. He was strictly into power. While he was very likable, I knew him well enough to not vote for him when he ran for governor. Both he and Maria are elitists and have no time for the ordinary person. When I say I had enough of California quickly this does not in any way impughn you or any of the decent folks who I know do exist in California.

Can someone summarize on where we are with the BC issue? To me, it seems that Hawaii is not giving up any documents. OB’s colleges are not releasing anything either. A question for friends here. I am watching Chris Mathews on hjs MSNBC show. WHY does he refer to former VP Chemey as CHEEENIE? Does it have an ethnic meaning to it? He has been pronouncing it this way for several years and I am getting tired of it.
Exactly, phone calls, emails, going to DC all were ignored!! Time to bring in the guns!!!!! Before it is too late. Beyond Disgusted with the scum in offices.
NancyDrew-I just came in from raking, it finally got cool enough to do some major outside work. Can you stick a rock on a string or rope and try to break thru the snow, or artfully positioned mirrors to melt it. A fishing pole with something on the end? Best I can up with. Guys are much better at stuff like this, my repairs are creative-sometimes they’re amazed. Or my personal favorite the laundry list of how you did it wrong.

ACORN critic Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is mystified that both the Democratic-controlled Congress and the Obama administration aren’t doing much about the tax-subsidized organized crime syndicate ACORN even as evidence of its wrongdoing continues to pile up.
In an exclusive interview, the House Judiciary Committee member describes the ACORN saga as “the largest corruption crisis in the history of America.”
“It’s thousands of times bigger than Watergate because Watergate was only a little break-in by a couple of guys,” said King. “By the time we pull ACORN out by its roots America’s going to understand just how big this is.”
Unlike the Nixon-era Watergate scandal, the ACORN scandal reaches not only to the highest levels of government, but also to states and localities across America. The president himself and his political advisor Patrick Gaspard used to work for ACORN and the radical advocacy group has allies throughout congressional leadership who are bending over backwards to protect it. President Obama has also hired as White House counsel Bob Bauer, whom King described as “the number one defender of ACORN in the country.”
ACORN has ties to unions such as SEIU and has business relationships with Wall Street. It has offices across the globe in places like Canada, Kenya, and India. Quite apart from the hidden camera videos that emerged in September showing ACORN employees providing advice on establishing a brothel and financing it with government grants, in the U.S. it stands accused of political corruption, election fraud, racketeering, money laundering, and countless other violations of the law. It is involved in major campaigns pushing for socialized medicine, green energy and cap-and-trade, enhanced welfare benefits, higher minimum wages, greater federal regulation of the financial services industry, and for a major expansion of the Community Reinvestment Act.
“The legislative branch will not investigate. [House Judiciary Committee chairman John] Conyers will not. [House Judiciary subcommittee chairman Jerrold] Nadler will not. It’s not going to come out of [House Ways & Means Committee chairman Charles] Rangel’s committee. It’s not going to come out of [House Financial Services Committee chairman] Barney Frank’s committee or from anybody in the Senate. They’re going to protect ACORN.”
Congress is deliberately dragging its heels on ACORN, just as Democrats did during the Clinton impeachment process in 1998, King said. As a member of the Iowa state senate, in December of that year King spent three days observing the proceedings against Clinton in the House Judiciary Committee.
“I saw the climate and the culture of the left’s shield of former President Clinton,” King said. “No transgression could have been too bad to cause their morality to flip the other way on him and for them walk away from him.”
Today defenders of ACORN in Congress are acting like the 42nd president’s defenders.
WE the people must start making more noise about ACORN….demand all Senators and House Representatives to push for and investigation that is done by an outside source…..no one from ACORN or the White House should be allowed to be part of the investigation……this immoral group must be taken down before the next election!!! Call your elected officials and demand they stop death scare bill and investigate ACORN …..NOW!!!

At Midnight, They’ll Wheel the Senate Patriarch In
In order for Sen. Harry Reid to have a final vote on the Senate monstrosity of ObamaCare by Christmas Eve, he must have the first of several votes at 1:01 am December 21, 2010. Any later than that, and the time fram disintegrates.
So, to have his 60 votes, he’ll have the caregivers of the Senate patriarch, 92-year old Sen. Robert Byrd, drag the ailing Senator from bed, the warmth of his home, into the 20 degree snow covered Washington to push his wheelchair through the Senate chambers to vote.
The West Virginia Senator has probably no knowledge of the specifics of what he will vote on, except his party says they must do this for their friend Teddy (Kennedy). The Senator has given no speeches, has only been wheeled infor votes, and then only raises his hand to gesture the vote. With no disrespect to the Senator, has anyone questioned his capability or capacity to vote on this matter, or does it not matter, so long as Harry Reid has his 60 votes. I dare say that the Democrats would question a 92-year old Republican Senotor’s capacity?
This same thing happened in Illinois, the welfare queens found out that there was great welfare in Wisconsin, we almost got run over in their rush to get there. I think they broke Wisconsins welfare in less than a year. They tightened their laws shortly thereafter.
For those who do not know it, there are signs in California in Spanish which state that Minnesota has thee best welfare in America. They go so far as to name the individual counties.
And guess what? Those counties are loaded with Mexicans and other miscreants who move into those areas because the government payments are so good.

For many years we owned a horse photography business which was number 1 in southern California and maybe number 2 in all of California. I had the pleasure of meeting and selling our photographs to many very rich and famous people (horse show competitons are an expensive interest). I found most of them to be real concerned patriots who brought honor and integrity to their lives.
All I’m saying is not all “the money people” in California are a**holes like Arnold and Maria. California has a lot of great people. Like America, California has been looted by the likes of Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Arnold, and a group of other snake oil salesmen.
Elections are coming–I hope Brown doesn’t get in–there are many actions a good leader can take to resore California to its past greatness.

Thank you for posting the long awaited Articles of Freedom from the Continental Congress2009. I have been studying them ALL day.
My personal conclusion is that…if we DO spread these far and wide…and we all read them and abide by them..it would be the answer to MANY ills in this Country.
If you missed it everybody…PLEASE go back and be sure to save them and read them over and over AND make sure they get the much needed attention they deserve!!

This kind of “we” talk manipulation profiles the machinations of the classic psychological abuser. Remember in “Gaslight” the wife abuser, in order to gain power over the wife and steal her own property of hidden gems (since on his own he’s worthless himself), the husband is commiting crimes practically under the nose of the naive, trusting wife, while using her trust in him and convincing her that she’s the one who is not rational when she weakly begins questioning him. Finally, after getting her totally dependent upon him psychologically (through scare tactics), he convinces her to believe that she’s the one going crazy and needs help. She’s the one who needs to be locked up and freedom controlled.
Hopefully the American people, so trusting in their “one”, will not totally lose their reason and sanity by continuing to trust someone who is obviously abusing them and their naive (willfully stupid) trust. Like the movie, hopefully the ones who know who he really is, will finally convince the others of the truth. And the resulting realization of that intentional abuse won’t be pretty either!
