A reader watched this interview of Jim Demint on O’Reilly last night and was deeply concerned, not so much about Franken dissing Lieberman, but about comments Jim Demint made. About 5:30 into the interview he talks about the process of the Dems writing the health care bill. It is extremely disturbing to her, that Obama’s staff is involved in writing a Senate bill while Republican Senators are locked out.
Demint: We’ve been debating for two or three weeks now but they’ve been developing the real bill behind closed doors and Harry Reid and his office…
O’Reilly: Who is they? Harry Reid and who else is in there?
Demint: His staff, the president’s staff and they’re bringing different members in, seeing what they need, threatening to take their air bases, giving money to Louisiana. It’s become a bag of, I think, political promises and bribes. I mean I’m afraid I’m very cynical about the process. A bill of this magnitude and importance should be out for weeks before we have to vote on it. But they’re going to bring it out in the next day or two and Harry Reid will immediately file cloture to end the debate as soon as we see the bill. So we’ll have a couple of days to decide about it and it takes weeks to study these bills when they’re that big. Bill, this is outrageous. It’s not anything like a real democratic process here. I frankly think it verges on tyranny. I just hope Americans will look up from their Christmas shopping and see what’s going on here.
O’Reilly: Alright, so you haven’t seen the final bill. It’s changed from the initial 2000 bill that was a couple of weeks arrived upon. You’re saying that it’s Harry Reid and some of the President’s guys are behind closed doors doing this, that and the other thing. They’re going to throw it out there over the week end to you. You expect to get that big package, this thing, over the weekend. Is that what you expect?

Any 5th grader knows that the Constitution declares the separation of powers, The Executive, the Legislative and the Judicial. Why is the Executive Branch involved in this process, designated only to the Legislative Branch? This is clearly unconstitutional! Is anyone in Congress going to protest this usurpation of their Constitutional responsibility? Are Americans going to look up from their Christmas shopping to offer support to our Representatives and Senators and demand that Obama get his hands of Congress! Are we on the road to becoming a dictatorship? Where are the Patriots on this one?
I asked my elected republican official about why he is not bringing up the eligibility issue with obama. He said the candidate was carefully vetted through various channels and was certified by congress as qualified………CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS??
And this guy is one of the more traditional conservatives that I know. In my reply, I reminded him of obama’s own admission on his website that his father was a brit when he was born. Natural born does not equal only one US Citizen parent!

…The film, based on a book by Iranian-French journalist Freidoune Sahebjam, tells the true story of the stoning death of a woman in a rural area of Iran in the mid-1980s.
…The film opens when an Iranian reporter (Jim Caviezel) based in France has car trouble as he passes through a quiet Iranian village. Sure, the mechanic can fix his car, but it will take a couple of hours. As he waits, he is approached by a haunted-looking woman, Zahra (Shohreh Aghdashloo, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in The House of Sand and Fog), who tells him she has a story she must tell him urgently. The men in the village order her to stay away from him, but she manages to meet with him and the story she tells is both horrifying and shocking.
Her niece, Soraya (Mozhan Marno), was murdered the day before by the men in her village. In their justice system, she was found guilty of adultery and was given the punishment: death by stoning. This would be awful enough, if it were true. But Zahra tells a far more complicated story. Soraya’s husband, Ali (Navid Negahban), wanted to divorce her and marry a 14-year-old girl (he gets the girl’s parents’ permission for the match because her father has been accused of a crime and Ali promises to get him out of jail). But Soraya must agree to a not-very-generous offer of support for her and her four children that Ali proposes and she refuses. The mullah (Ali Pourtash) comes to her, trying to bully her into taking it, and offers another incentive – she can become his mistress by a loophole called temporary marriage and he will help support her.
She is disgusted by this and tells off the cleric. Her enraged husband now has the support of the local religious authority, and they persuade the mayor that she must be found guilty of a crime. Since she is helping out the recently widowed local mechanic, the father of a disabled boy, they press the mechanic into confessing to an affair with her. He knows it is wrong – but they threaten to take away his son and place him in a poorly run state mental hospital.
Now the die is cast. No appeal is possible, and no one listens to her. The last third of the film is an excruciating account of the stoning. She is buried up to the waist, and all the village boys are enlisted to find stones that are big enough to hurt her but not so big that they will kill her quickly. Soraya’s father and her sons are encouraged, virtually ordered, to hurl some of the first stones. Of course, her husband is the most eager participant. The sequence takes about 20 minutes but it feels like hours, or days. Nowrasteh does not spare us an instant of Soraya’s agony.
“I wanted people to respond to it as powerful drama,” he said. “I wanted audiences to become aware of what stoning is. I don’t elongate the experience. Everything you see, including the circus troupe coming along during the stoning and then playing music as it goes on, is from the account in the book. All the men in the village really were cheering as they stoned her. My responsibility is to tell this story as honestly and truthfully as I can.”
What is most fascinating in the film are the details of how ordinary men become complicit in the ghastly murder of a blameless woman whom they have known their entire lives. “It’s very much about mob rule. The husband is ruthless, but the mayor is conflicted… There is plenty of questioning going on, but there’s no moment when someone steps up and says, ‘We’re not going to do this.'”
…Zahra, the victim’s aunt, fights for her niece. “She’s passionate about seeking justice, but she doesn’t have power,” said the director. At one point, as the men in the village try to stop the journalist from leaving with a tape of his interview with Zahra about the killing, she taunts them, saying, “If everything was according to Islam, why are you worried that word will get out?”

With the Homeland security report, the government has created a system to legalize invading our homes without search warrants, removing any one it chooses based upon being a threat to the government, stop us in our vehicles or shoot us down in the streets if we protest to loud.
The government is still funding money to Acorn. Eric Holder still refuses to prosecute the Black Panthers who were practicing voter intimidation. The silence about Nidal Maliq Hassan’s Muslim terrorist attack on Foot Hood is so loud it is terrifying. The insistence upon bringing the 5 terrorist to New York for trial in spite of valid objections and millions of protest is appalling. Again, this type of rhetoric bothers me because
1) Mcconnell has spoken on senate floor over 40 times against deathcare bill and toured states speaking against it
2) Bunning has signed a letter for an investigation of the proposed threats to close AFB in Nebraska…(if it can happen there…..etc, etc.)
3)Both these senators voted no for most of the stimulus money payoff bills in 2008.

Ginger-Florida had to go with paper ballots due to too many mishaps. Robert Wexler was very instrumental getting that going in Florida. Those machines were terrible. People can research how Florida converted and the company that they are currently using.

The Battleground Poll and the Battle for America

There’s good news for conservatives in the latest Battleground Poll. The political implications are profound…if the already-energized conservative base takes even more initiative.
In the November 2008 Battleground Poll, for the first and only time, the straight question of “conservative” or “liberal” was not posed to respondents. Instead, the poll asked respondents two separate questions: fiscal ideology was asked in Question D6 and social ideology was asked in Question D7. The Battleground Poll clearly intended to refine Question D3. What were the results? Fiscal conservatives in Question D6 were 69% of respondents. Social conservatives were 53% of respondents and social liberals were 39%. While that sounds like social conservatism is a weak link, that is misleading: a whopping 34% of all Americans described themselves as “very conservative” on social issues, by far the largest very intense group in any Battleground Poll.
What it means in politics is that any true conservative against a true leftist should carry every state and win by a landslide. But it means more than that. Conservatives in the areas of culture, media, entertainment, and education are treated like unwanted stepchildren, or worse (despite the fact that conservatives on average are better-educated than liberals).

How much you want to bet that after all is said and done that Nelson will be stabbed in the back and WILL NOT get his big deal that he worked out with Barry and Reid.

Ginger….On Chris Wallace today on Fox that a-hole Ken Conrad alluded to this very thing that in the end…..Nelson probably won’t get the sweetheart deal he thinks he is!!! These Dems are SOB’s and need to be dealt with as SOB’S~~

We need FAR more activities than Tax Revolts.
I liked that avenue earlier, but we are rapidly
going far beyond that.
