Paul Ryan is absolutely brilliant! He knows about what he is talking, and makes mincemeat of anyone trying to refute his arguments!

I cannot believe he was introduced as a “man who knows as much about Health Care as pp does!” What does pp know about Health Care? Zero…Zilch…Nada.

Chris Mathews was at a loss for words; probably because he did not understand what Ryan was saying…the look on his face while Ryan was talking was PRICELESS!

Also, pp got so annoyed with Ryan when he spoke at the Health Care Summit; you could see the steam rising from the top of his head! He, too, did not have a clue about what Ryan was enumerating with such aplomb.

Republicans do have a “Better Plan,” not perfect, but better. However, as Ryan says, they were not even permitted to play in the “Reindeer Games!”

This interview is “Golden!” Thanks so much for posting this important story, CW.

PS Ryan also mentioned the Pelosi backroom deals and arm-twisting…

    http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_031010/content/01125107.guest.html

OBAMA: My cost-cutting measures mirror most of the proposals in the current Senate bill which reduces most people’s premiums.

RUSH: This morning on the Senate floor here is Senator Dick Durbin speaking.

DURBIN: Anyone who would stand before you and say, “Well, if you pass health care reform next year’s health care premiums are going down,” I don’t think is telling the truth.

RUSH: Dick Durbin has just called President Obama a liar. He just called him a liar. The rest of Durbin’s comment: “Nobody ever said we’re going to bring the rates down. What we’re going to do is slow the rate of growth.” (laughing) So his own party is under cutting President Obama.

Paul Ryan and actuarials tend to get a little wonkish but boy do they know there numbers. It would be easier to see on paper-Debit here-Credit there-I would like to see how the Obama admin doubles it. Part of the Obama plan that I see is wrong is it assumes all American citizens have fatal illnesses 100 per cent of the time.

    http://www.charitywatch.org/articles/eightrungs.html
Maimonides, a 12th century Jewish scholar, invented the following ladder of giving. Each rung up represents a higher degree of virtue:
    1. The lowest: Giving begrudgingly and making the recipient feel disgraced or embarrassed.
    2. Giving cheerfully but giving too little.
    3. Giving cheerfully and adequately but only after being asked.
    4. Giving before being asked.
    5. Giving when you do not know who is the individual benefiting, but the recipient knows your identity.
    6. Giving when you know who is the individual benefiting, but the recipient does not know your identity.
    7. Giving when neither the donor nor the recipient is aware of the other’s identity.
    8. The Highest: Giving money, a loan, your time or whatever else it takes to enable an individual to be self-reliant.

  22. Issa raises questions on Sestak
    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0310/34221.html

The top Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says the Obama administration may have broken the law by offering Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) a job in order to persuade him not to mount a primary challenge against Sen. Arlen Specter.

Sestak has said that the administration offered him a high-ranking government job if he’d stay out of the race. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has been asked repeatedly about the accusation in recent weeks but so far has neither confirmed nor denied that a job was offered.

But in a letter to White House general counsel Robert Bauer Wednesday, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said that, if Sestak’s allegation is true, administration officials may have violated a federal statute which makes it a crime for a government employee to use his authority “for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the nomination or the election of any candidate” for certain offices, including Senate seats.

“While the White House may think this is politics as usual, what is spectacularly unusual is when a candidate — a U.S. congressman no less — freely acknowledges such a proposal,” Issa wrote. “Almost always candidates keep quiet about such deals, and for good reason — they are against the law.”

Issa listed a series of questions he wants answered by March 18:

    1. At any time, did White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel have communications with Rep. Sestak about the 2010 race for the United States Senate? Identify the communications.

    2. At any time, did White House deputy chief of staff Jim Messina have communications with Rep. Sestak about the 2010 race for the United States Senate? Identify the communications.

    3. At any time, did any official within the White House Office of Political Affairs have communications with Rep. Sestak about the 2010 race for the United States Senate? Identify the political officials and the communications.

    4. Identify any other individuals at the White House that had communications with Rep. Sestak about his bid for the United States Senate. For each individual, identify the communications.

    5. What position(s) was (were) Rep. Sestak offered in exchange for his commitment to leave the Senate race?

    6. Following Rep. Sestak’s disclosure that he was offered a position in the president’s administration in exchange for bowing out of the 2010 race for the United States Senate, what, if any, investigation did your office undertake to determine whether the criminal activity described by Rep. Sestak occurred?

    7. Do you expect to make a referral to the United States Department of Justice in this matter? When should we expect this referral?

Sestak first made the accusation during a television interview in early February, and he repeated it when asked about it during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this week.

Asked about the allegation Tuesday, Gibbs said: “ I don’t have the update with me, but let me check and see if I do have anything.”

I think you’re going to like this.
    http://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf/2010/03/10/house-dems-try-to-pass-obamacare-without-a-vote/
Having determined that they lack the votes in the House to pass the Senate bills as-is, House Democrats are attempting one of the most breathtakingly unconstitutional power grabs ever witnessed – a maneuver to deem the Senate bill ALREADY PASSED by the House by rule, despite the fact that it clearly has not. Now, as we have constantly reminded our ahistorical liberal friends who have already forgotten all of 2002-2006, the filibuster is constitutional because it is a Senate rule of debate, which is expressly authorized by Article I’s delegation of power to each house of Congress to set its own rules of debate. Apparently, some Democrats can’t seem to tell the difference between a rule of debate and just declaring by rule that the House has passed a bill that they have not, when the Constitution itself expressly states that “in all [] Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays[.]” What Slaughter and Pelosi here are attempting here is a blatant violation of the principles of bicameralism and presentment.
And unlike other Unconstitutional things Congress does, there’s caselaw here suggesting pretty clearly that when Congress attempts to pass a law in the absence of proper bicameralism and presentment, a person negatively affected by Congress’s action (e.g., a person required to pay a fine for not having health insurance) has standing to challenge the law’s validity in the Courts. This farce is illegal and unconstitutional on its face, and someone has to be advising the Democrats in the House of this fact. They already know the American people don’t want this bill. They know by now that what they’re trying to do is illegal. The question now is whether they still have the shame to care about either

  51. Subterfuge in Nevada!

“Yesterday we posted a poll that asked Tea Party Activists whether or not they think Scott Ashjian, the third party “Tea Party” candidate for U.S. Senate should withdraw from the race. With more than 900 votes in, 95% say yes.

This morning, 20 grassroots tea party groups across the state of Nevada released a joint statement rebuking the candidacy of Scott Ashjian and the attempt to hijack the tea party brand through a third party filing.”

    http://taxdayteaparty.com/2010/03/20-nevada-tea-party-groups-release-joint-statement-against-tea-party-candidate/

Now for those of you who are not familiar with the situation… a few weeks back, Scott Ashjian, an attorney and a few others filed an official third party “Tea Party” in the state of Nevada. At the same time, they announced that Scott Ashjian would run on the Tea Party Ticket as the Tea Party Candidate opposing Senator Harry Reid.

There are several problems with this.

    1) We have not been able to identify a single tea party organizer or activist who can/will vouch for this Scott Ashjian
    2) The Las Vegas Sun found that Ashjian owes more than $200,000 in back taxes (sounds like the current Congress)
    3) Virtually every poll out there is currently showing that with Ashjian in the race, the simple fact that his name will be on the Nevada ballot under “Tea Party” could give him anywhere between 10% and 20% (depending on the poll) of the vote.

This would essentially hand Harry Reid the win in a three way race.

We don’t know if this Ashjian guy is a plant, a fake or just an opportunist, but we strongly believe he is NOT representing the Tea Party Movement.

This Thursday, March 11, 2010 In U.S. Court of Appeals…

    WHO: Robert “Bob” Schulz, Chairman

We the People Foundation for Constitutional Education and We the People Congress: Dedicated to citizen vigilance and holding elected officials accountable to their Oath of Office, the Constitution. http://www.givemeliberty.org

WHAT: Oral arguments against the Federal Reserve (Bernanke) and U.S. Treasury (Paulson/Geithner) challenging the UNCONSTITUTIONAL use of public monies for the multi-billion dollar bailouts of privately-owned AIG and other Wall Street institutions.

WHEN: 2 PM – Thursday, March 11, 2010 – Schulz is FIRST UP
WHERE: Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Manhattan- 500 Pearl Street Ceremonial Courtroom – 9th Floor; Presiding Judges Eaton, Wesley and Sack

HOW: Schulz will argue, pro se, the Constitutional argument that public funds can never be used for decidedly private purposes – regardless of any perceived necessity or general public benefit in doing so. He will also argue against the unconstitutional application of the “judicial standing doctrine,” used liberally to prevent federal lawsuits by ordinary Americans seeking to remedy injuries affecting all Citizens equally which arise from Government’s violations of the Constitution. A critical and growing issue as more Americans awaken to the inevitable question: “What are the next steps for a free People to take to hold their servant government accountable?”

  63. There are legal ways of not paying taxes:

1- Quit your job, no income no taxes due.
2- Get laid off and collect unemployment for up to 99 wks.
    3- Get fired and collect.
4- When you lose your job you can actually do something better than not paying taxes you can actually do double duty by collecting as much as you can, food stamps, welfare, etc.
5- If you are fairly healthy cancel your Health Insurance and join the illegal invaders health ins plan The Emergency Room and go as often as you can for hang nails, joint pain, back pain, stomach pains, etc. They do it and they never paid in don’t be ashamed you are doing it for Patriotic Reasons to wake up America so we can fight to save it from the INSANETASY PRESIDENCY.

This is what many have done for generations without ever paying a penny in, so don’t be ashamed you are doing it for Patriotic Reasons to drain the coffers so the Neo-Commies don’t have any money to do their evil plans.

  64. I think we all need to satrt having two religions like most in Rev Wright’s andd Louis Farrakhan’s Churches/Mosques. Your Christians Religion and then a Social Religion like Amish, Christ Scientist, etc so that you can avoid most of the Gov’t Impositions (HealthSCare, National ID, etc) on religious grounds.

  65. Hi Peter,

The problem with collecting unemployment is that it’s considered earned income.

When I got laid off in 2002, I collected but opted *not* to have taxes taken out of the unemployment check; if you do, you’re left with scratch by the time they’re finished raping your check. Come tax time, I owed a whopping 1700 + beans to the feds. I couldn’t pay it and had to negotiate a payment plan with the IRS bastids. I was worried about buying food, not paying the damned gub’mint!

I disagree that unemployment is ‘earned income;’ you’re laid off fahcryinoutloud, how the heck can you be ‘earning’ an income.

So, they’ll get you, even if you no longer have a job!

  66. SueK,

Agreed but you are still taking money from the pile and putting nothing in, that is the idea. If more at taking out and less putting in the pile gets SMALL QUICKER.

John Kerry and wife Teresa Simoes (Portuguese) invest in Municipal Bonds and collect Millions while paying ONLY 5% tax Because it is not EARNED INCOME but yet someone unemployed has to pay tax on earned income that is not earned.

They know how to stack the deck in their favor each and every time.

And you can be certain that Prince Harry & his pals are figuring out a way to get all the money they can into Ashjian’s campaign war chest, plus enough to pay off the $200K in back taxes. They want to make damn sure that Ashjian screws up the election for NV and sends Dirty Harry back to D.C.

  75. Here is news video of Obama in St. Louis today, promoting Obamacare at a local high school. Then on to a fundraiser for Missouri Senator, Claire McCaskill. There is something very evil about his appearance when he’s ranting about health care. Almost demonic. Scary!

Lawmakers Beware! — Health Care Is Just the Beginning For Tea Party Activists
By Deneen Borelli and Tom Borelli
    – FOXNews.com

The Tea Party movement’s agenda reaches beyond health care. — Soaring deficits and the dramatic growth of government are also major concerns

“With support for Obamacare seemingly slipping daily, the White House and their congressional allies want to get the bill passed before Congressional members go back to their districts.”

“FreedomWorks, the organization behind the massive Tea Party rally in Washington last October, is now partnering with Tea Party activists around the nation for a sunrise-to-sunset lobbying “People’s Surge Against Obamacare 2.0″ on March 16. Tea Party activists plan to storm the three House Office buildings to personally encourage their representatives to vote with the will of the people.”

“A government takeover of a substantial proportion of the economy presents a clear and present danger for liberty-minded Americans. This renewed effort to ram Obamacare through is proving to be a catalyst for citizen action, but the left should not deceive itself: Tea Party activists are likely to respond in force to every effort to dramatically expand the scope of federal power.”

Pro-Life Democrats Say Senate Bill DOA
The health care reform bill passed by the Senate on Christmas Eve appears to be dead on arrival in the House, as seven anti-abortion Democrats intend to join the ranks of lawmakers who plan to vote against the legislation, Fox News has confirmed.

Seven new no votes would be enough to kill the Senate bill, and several more fence-sitting lawmakers are under pressure from both sides of the aisle.

O kiss of death for Claire McCaskill!
    ==================
Maybe, but Claire won’t care about losing since she isn’t up for election until 2012. And the way Obama has been doling out judgeships for healthcare votes, Senator Claire McCaskill may end up getting a Missouri Supreme Court appointment for her support for Obamacare.

The Missouri Governor, Jay Nixon, is on Obama’s Council of Governors. Nixon gets appointed to the Council and he in turn, appoints McCaskill to the MO Supreme Court.

  80. j.b. – I TOTALLY agree. This has NOTHING to do with ‘health care”.

Here’s some good news for Michigan…

Former Detroit City Council President Monica Conyers was just sentenced to 37 months in prison. She is the wife of Far Left Representative John Conyers

Yeah, Katie, that was BREAKING NEWS here today. What I wanna know is; When will the old man get his ?!? ‘Cuz he’s a friggin’ law breakin’ thug, too!

  81. Doesn’t sound good.

Good reason to recall the MO governor right now.

  82. Sue K.

I like the sound of your lawyers. Gotta check out that firm.

  83. Good reason to impeach the president too!

said 23 YES dems had changed to undecided and that Hoyer wants to extend the deadline because they don’t have the votes.

  85. Amen to THAT!! Good reason to indict the faux prez for every law he’s broken.

I disagree with part of Rush’s statement above.

    O. has not acted within the democratic system at all. He has totally flaunted the democratic process in every way, including the election (which he didn’t win).

Time to remove all the corrupt players, if you ask me.

Time to stop letting the few dictate to the many.

  87. Time to resurrect the Constitution!

  88. Rasmussen says o.’s rating today is -21, with 22% strongly approving and 43% strongly disapproving. Overall: 56% disapprove to 43% approve.

    Only 42% dems strongly approve.

    Only 17% unaffliated strongly approve.

    72% of repubs strongly disapprove.

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

  89. Amen to THAT!! Time to remove those who ignore the Constitution. Time for our government to be of, for, and by the people again.

Say, would you like to run for office?

  90. Nope, How about you running for office?

  91. As of Friday, March 5 . .

“Sixty-five percent (65%) of Nevada voters also think it would be better for the country if most incumbents were not reelected to Congress this November. Only 32% say their local congressional representative deserves reelection.”
    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections2/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/nevada/election_2010_nevada_senate
    ++++++++++++
Happily, the incumbents are doing nothing to change people’s minds about booting them from office. On the contrary, they are driving the numbers UP.

    I can’t wait to see that 65% go up t0 95%.

    Oh, and two repubs are leading Reid: 51 – 38 and 50 – 37.

  92. I sure would like to see wholesome, trustworthy, tried and true, sincerely-committed-to-the-Constitution, responsible-in-handling-money, patriotic, people, who keep their word, elected to serve our country.

What hit me about the Amish story was that the “tagging” of animals was equated to the “mark of the beast!”

Maybe, when they try to implant chips in us we should object on religious grounds. I have heard the “chips” being equated to the “mark” as well.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Not only can we use this for reference, but every farmer in every state with a King James version can use this…….Revelations 14:9…
    A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name. (which was 666)”
