Health care reconciliation, Obama Reid Pelosi

It was bad enough when President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid tried to pass their health care takeover through vote-buying, closed-door meetings, and strong-arm tactics. But what they’re doing now is even worse…
Right now, Obama, Pelosi and Reid are working to ram their Washington takeover through Congress – without a real vote – using a parliamentary trick called “reconciliation.”
Democrats are hosting a sham “summit” this Thursday to “re-package” their failed plan before they attempt to force it through using “reconciliation.” The result of their dishonest maneuver: only 51 votes will be needed in the Senate instead of the 60 required by the long-established rule of law.
Working with grassroots allies, Americans for Prosperity has a plan to defeat this threat:

So, in other words, Obama is LYING about compromising on his healthcare plans, and Reid and Pelosi are preparing to use a parliamentary trick to ram ObamaCare down the throats of the American people!

I live in a small rural area with limited access to radio. These stations run on very small margins, and they will not survive this tax.
South, that is what I have been wondering how Medina is doing. It does smell that there has been no polls in Texas especially since this is such an important race. Nothing but Beck (liar) weighing in on it.

What is really going on? Are the Dems that crazy to think that their attempt at using reconciliation will help them politically? Or are they just delusional, and cannot accept it is over for ObamaCare, and do not have the discipline to turn to something the public actually wants, like deficit reduction?
The Dems cannot accept the defeat of ObamaCare and will try reconciliation because Majority Leader Reid is desperate for liberal support for his failing re-election effort; Speaker Pelosi is genuinely irrational about ObamaCare, and the President believes that the entire Dem Congress should politically self-destruct to save his bill.
Mainline Dem strategists like Charlie Cook call it a “massive miscalculation.” Cook’s interview is a MUST WATCH here, at the National Journal.
Meanwhile, today the Hill is reporting that the GOP says the Dems do not have the votes on the Senate floor. This intelligence is accurate, but the Dem Senators will not embarrass Senator Reid by contradicting him publicly.
Add irrational to desperate and you get the Dems attempting to pass ObamaCare via reconciliation.
But the tough problems remain. Like abortion. The whole idea of forcing the country through months more of health care, to make the bill more liberal, and then send it back to the House floor where you would force Members in an election year to walk the plank again on abortion, ObamaCare, Medicare cuts, tax increases, the individual mandate, health benefits for illegal immigrants, while spending $2.5 trillion to do it is, quite simply, nutty.
So, let the Dems try to pass ObamaCare via reconciliation.
They will find themselves in another three or four month political valley of death. And they will still not pass the bill.
The country is not in danger of ObamaCare passing via reconciliation.
The country is, however, in danger from politically desperate and irrational leaders who are intent on the political equivalent of self-immolation.
Herein is the drama from no-drama-Obama.

“The original House health care bill passed last November by a 220 to 215 margin. But supporters have lost four votes since then. Democrat Rep. Robert Wexler has left the House, and Rep. Neil Abercrombie is expected to leave this week. Rep. John Murtha died, and Republican Rep. Joseph Cao, the only GOP lawmaker to vote for the bill, now says he will vote against the measure. That leaves Democrats with 216 votes, one short of the 217 it will take to pass. (That number is one less than the usual 218 because of the vacancies in the House.)
In addition, it’s thought that some number of Democrats who voted for the original bill will likely vote against the Senate version because it lacks the House bill’s language on the subject of abortion (the president’s proposed compromise doesn’t help on that subject, either). This came into my mind as I was listening to tonight’s news. It about the big bonuses paid to Wall Street due to the munificence of the American taxpayers a/k/a Main Street. This is a germ of the thought, pick it apart if you would like it is just a thought. Many states have lotteries which benefit schools, education, etc. I have yet to think of a state lottery that went “dirty”. What if each state had a mortgage lottery? The funds generated less the prize, administration could be used to generate dollars for mortgages. I would do it the old-fashioned way 20 per cent down, current interest rate, that way it would cut out Wall Street corruption and the state would have income coming in, plus generate some competition. The states-counties, municipalities, cities issue the building permits and when all of this mess defaulted the states got penalized anyway. Just the beginning of a thought-pick apart-let me know what you think.

Well we thought we were going to get some melt off. I got up this morning and looked out the window to see that we had received some more snow instead. Bad case of cabin fever going. Lots of COFFEE.

You and me both…cabin fever, that is.
I have been cooped up for two weeks now after my stunning “flight and flop.” We had a dusting of snow last night, but nothing to write home about. Don’t know what to expect for tomorrow and Friday in the way of accumulations, but am sure to find out soon enough. We have slight melts here and there but for the most part, the snow will remain here until then end of March unless, of course, we have freezing rain…YUK!
However, cabin fever does become troublesome during the months of February and March…no way to avoid it…unless you go out and make snowmen/women.

Somebody tampering with numbers?
How does one reconcile these numbers with polls posted yesterday?

Yesterday’s polls were the result of unscientific online voting where a person could vote more than once…notice how they kept changing dramatically once people were aware of the vote?
Rasmussen’s polls are random samples derived form a pool of “likely voters.” You cannot vote more than once…
However, I might not agree with his results if he included Dems in the sampling because they would be more likely to skew the results.
This is a Primary where a Republican candidate will be chosen to run against White, the Democrat. Also, Medina is getting shunned by the Press as if there are only two battling it out instead of three. She is definitely the underdog.
Wouldn’t it be nice if, against all odds, she beat both of the RINOs?

I guess I should have been more specific. I have training in this area, so I’m quite aware of the difficulties with polls.
It’s true that the numbers shot up. Those were not the numbers I was referencing, but rather previous poll numbers that don’t show the large discrepancy. Also as I noted yesterday Rasmussen had promised to post numbers much earlier and didn’t. Instead they waited for Beck to do his shtick and then post the numbers.
I was trying to bring attention to the shenanigans
to light. Thanks.
