“Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) today took shots at those who are not supporting the health care legislation. During a floor speech, he excoriated Senate GOP members for holding up the pending health care bill and accused their supporters of being birthers and fanatics in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups. He started off by citing an editorial from the Manchester Journal Inquirer, which used the insult “lunatic fringe.”:”
“After explaining why absent GOP members who did not vote for the Department of Defense spending bill was tantamount to a “no” vote, he went on to say that Republicans and their supporters just want to “break” the momentum of President Obama.:
“Voting ‘no’ and hiding from the vote are the same result. Those of us on the floor see it. It was clear the three of them who did not cast their yes votes until all 60 Senate votes had been tallied and it was clear that the result was a foregone conclusion. And why? I am feeling better about this trainwreck of a bill. Even if the second cloture vote gets the 60 votes, by no means will the reconciliation between House and Senate versions go smoothly. Abortion, public option, and other issues are likely to tear this thing apart, and for the better. This thing is an unmitigated disaster, an disgrace of a bill. And everyone who voted for it has targets on their backs. Kick them all out. They are bums.

Just received an email from Democratic National Committee. Read it and almost made me barf. Here it is:
Early this morning, the Senate made history and health reform cleared its most important hurdle yet — garnering the 60 votes needed to move toward a final vote in that chamber later this week.
This marks the first time in our nation’s history that comprehensive health reform has come to this point. And it appears that the American people will soon realize the genuine reform that offers security to those who have health insurance and affordable options to those who do not.
I’m grateful to Senator Harry Reid and every senator who’s been working around the clock to make this happen. And I’m grateful to you, and every member of this community, for all the work you have done to make this progress possible.
After a nearly century-long struggle, we are now on the cusp of making health insurance reform a reality in the United States of America.
As with any legislation, compromise is part of the process. But I’m pleased that recently added provisions have made this landmark bill even stronger. Between the time when the bill passes and the time when the insurance exchanges get up and running, insurance companies that try to jack up their rates do so at their own peril. Those who hike their prices may be barred from selling plans on the exchanges.
And while insurance companies will be prevented from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing conditions once the exchanges are open, in the meantime there will be a high-risk pool where people with pre-existing conditions can purchase affordable coverage.
A recent amendment has made these protections even stronger. Insurance companies will now be prohibited from denying coverage to children immediately after this bill passes. There’s also explicit language in this bill that will protect a patient’s choice of doctor. And small businesses will get additional assistance as well.
These protections are in addition to the ones we’ve been talking about for some time. No longer will insurance companies be able to drop your coverage if you become sick and no longer will you have to pay unlimited amounts out of your own pocket for treatments that you need.
Under this bill families will save on their premiums; businesses that would see their costs rise if we don’t act will save money now and in the future. This bill will strengthen Medicare and extend the life of the program. Because it’s paid for and gets rid of waste and inefficiency in our health care system, this will be the largest deficit reduction plan in over a decade.
Finally, this reform will extend coverage to more than 30 million Americans who don’t have it.
These are not small changes. These are big changes. They’re fundamental reforms. They will save money. They will save lives.
And your passion, your work, your organizing helped make all of this possible. Now it’s time to finish the job.

A legal firebrand whose work fighting corruption left both Bill Clinton and Dick Cheney on the defensive today took on Barack Obama, suing the president for secret meetings with Planned Parenthood and other lobbyists on his plans to nationalize health care.
Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch and, more recently, Freedom Watch USA, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The law requires disclosure of records of meetings between the executive branch and outside industry lobbyists. It also requires access to meetings.
Klayman raised the same issues during the early years of the Clinton administration, contributing to the demise of the health care proposal championed by Hillary Clinton.
The lawsuit charges that in Obama’s “haste to socialize medicine in the United States, and increase government control generally,” he has “violated his commitment to transparency.”
“It is widely known that President Obama and his surrogates have been holding behind closed door meetings with health care industry lobbyists, cutting deals to win passage of his health care legislation,” Klayman said.
Klayman contends the president’s conduct falls within the scope of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, which “requires the president to come clean on why he has caved in to the pharmaceutical industry, preventing the importation of prescription drugs that would lower prices for consumers, why he has become the lackey of Planned Parenthood in championing government financed abortions, and why the AMA (American Medical Association) and AARP (American Association of Retired Persons

Good evening. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about our congress and the damage they are doing to this great country.
We (at least I) can see that they are violating laws and the Constitution daily. My problem is, since no American citizen can have standing to require obama to verify that he is a Natural Born Citizen in a court of law, how can we file charges against congress members for their criminal actions?
We would have to file in the same courts that have denied us standing already. Do you think they would reverse themselves now?
I am sorry to say, but I don’t think we have any peaceable means to stop the out of control congress any more. This is just my opinion and I am not asking anyone to do anything that they believe is wrong.
How can we fix the disaster that is coming???

1. Sen. Ben Nelson’s “Cornhusker Kickback.” The CBO says the Nebraska Democrat sellout’s special Medicaid expansion subsidy will initially cost an estimated $100 million.
2. New England’s Special Syrup. Vermont and Massachusetts will get similar (though less generous) special treatment by the feds in covering Medicaid expansion costs.
3. Corruptocrat Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd’s Christmas wish. A $100 million item for construction of a university hospital was inserted in the Senate health care bill.
4. “Some insurers are more equal than others” tax exemption. The WSJ reports that nonprofit insurance companies will be exempt from a new, nearly $7 billion tax to pay for Demcare.
5. The Frontier freebie. Several lucky states will see an increase in Medicare payments to hospitals and doctors, the NYT reports, — And which are the lucky states? The bill gives no clue. But the Congressional Budget Office has determined that Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming meet the criteria.”
6. More Democrat hospital bennies. Senate Democrats said this provision would benefit hospitals in Connecticut and Michigan.”
7. Bernie Sanders’ socialized medicine sop. He wanted a public option. Instead, he got socialized medicine satellite clinics funded to the tune of at least $10 billion
8. Fla.-Pa.-NY Protectionism. Via Politico: “Three states – Pennsylvania, New York and Florida – all won protections for their Medicare Advantage beneficiaries at a time when the program is facing cuts nationwide.”

Permit a health care provider to provide directly purchased lawful health services without paying any penalties or fines; and
Stipulate that subject to reasonable and necessary rules that do not substantially limit a person’s options, the purchase or sale of private health insurance will not be prohibited.
The amendment would not change what health care services a provider is required to perform or what health care services are permitted by law.

Health Care Overhaul GraysonCongressman Alan Grayson (D-Fla) likes to talk tough. I like that. As a TV reporter, I’m impatient with politicians who mince words.
But Grayson was very clear when he gave his opinion about Republic resistance to the Democrats’ health care power grab: “If you get sick, America, the Republicans’ health care plan is this: ‘Die quickly.’”
Of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who he said should “shut up,” Grayson said: “I have trouble listening to what he says sometimes because of the blood that drips from his teeth while he’s talking.”
He said that a woman who consulted with the Federal Reserve chairman was “a K Street whore,” and that Rush Limbaugh “was more lucid when he was a drug addict.”
I don’t agree with what Grayson says, but the clarity of his speech is refreshing. Especially for a guy who went to Harvard Law School.
But now it’s disappointing to learn that tough guy Grayson has a thin skin when it comes to criticism of himself.
This week Grayson wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder demanding the Feds lock up Republican activist Angie Langley for five years. Her crime? Launching an anti-Grayson website called mycongressmanisnuts.com.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that:
Grayson accuses Republican activist Angie Langley of lying to federal elections. His four-page complaint highlights the fact that the Clermont resident lives outside his district, but that Langley still uses the term “my” in “mycongressmanisnuts.com.”
“Ms. Langley has deliberately masqueraded as a constituent of mine, in order to try to create the false appearance that she speaks for constituents who don’t support me,” writes Grayson. “[She] has chosen a name for her committee that is utterly tasteless and juvenile.”
Poor Alan Grayson. Since the law school graduate must know something about freedom of speech, he must have been very wounded by Ms. Langely’s words to want to jail her for them.
Bullies like Congressman Grayson illustrate the danger of government power; government is the only entity that can legally use force. That makes government a fearsome master. It can use force to take our money, and homes, and our freedom.
Maybe next election, Florida residents will take away Grayson’s power

But here is what everyone saying this is no big deal is missing: to my knowledge and the knowledge of those who I have consulted with on this issue, there has never been any legislation passed by the Congress with a prohibition on future Senates considering changes to previously enacted laws or regulations.
We can argue over whether or not this would be upheld, but given the refusal of the Senate GOP Leadership to fight now, we can wonder if they would fight on this in the future.
Likewise, what exactly is Harry Reid trying to prevent future Senates from repealing? Bureaucratic regulations enacted by the Death Panels. So, for example, though the Death Panels are prohibited by statute from passing “rationing” regulations, under the definitions, the panels can pass regulations setting priorities for treatment. So, they can say a 40 year old must get treatment for the same condition suffered by a 70 year old before the 70 year old can get treatment, thereby letting the 70 year old whither and die waiting for their turn.
And Harry Reid intends for the Senate, in perpetuity, to be prohibited from every changing that regulation without a super-majority of the Senate agreeing to ignore that prohibition.
Lastly, why in God’s name would the Senate Majority Leader want to make the Death Panel regulations the only thing in the Obamacare legislation that is not subject to amendment, repeal, or change by the United States Senate?!”

This makes a LOT of sense. But I am not sure the Republican Machine is smart enough to have done this. But I do know, however, that neither the Democrat nor Republican Machines care about the Country or the Constitution. They each just want power. They ride the seesaw of the 2-party system and each hopes to be in power for a disproportionate ratio.
I now believe that the major reason that the Republican Machine did not attack Obama more strongly (especially in regards background and eligibility issues) was that they wanted him to win. They had come to believe that – due partially to the pendulum effect and partially to GWB hatred – the Republicans could not win the 2008 election. In which case I further believe they encouraged the most destructive candidate – for the EXPRESS PURPOSE of making the Democrats smell really bad – and therefore insure Republican victories in 2010 and 2012.
I actually once championed Obama. I wanted him to win the Democrat primary. Because I was sure there were not enough imbeciles in America to actually vote him into office. Apparently I was naive, and underestimated the extent of GWB hatred. It seems the Republican Machine is/was less naive.
That’s my 2¢ worth.

There is no longer any vestige of decency,honesty,or beleif in the US Constitution by SCOTUS. They are now publically committed to being Soetoro’s safety pin,and until such time that he does something which really conflicts their interest they will continue to lick his boots, and probably some of his body parts as well.
We now have the entire judicial branch in bed with Soetoro, and no longer care about the Constitution. They now are part of the Soetoro criminal enterprise which is about to swallow the entire US. Sadly we have no way to fight this except at the ballot box, or outright war. Unless the entire population of this country wakes up very soon the likelihood of there never being another election becomes more and more of a possibility. To perpetrate a war would require a level of coordination that would be next to impossible to acheive on short notice. While I do believe that via National Rifle Association we could put our hands on an extremely large number of weapons, you then must find people who are willing to use them, and still possess the skills to use them. Many persons volumnously state that they are mad as hell and will do whatever is necessary to take our country back to Constitutional law. This is all well and good but will they really act or will they chicken out when we need them the most. I personally think that a very large percentage would lay down their weapon and use some sort of excuse for having done so, at which point any forward progress would come to a very BLOODY halt. So we must temper our anger with reason,and wait for the perfect opportunity to present itself. This may never occur either, so which direction offers the best possible outcome? Until ALL people can unanimously come together in common bond, set aside their petty differences, and act in unison there is no viable option. However we need to keep in mind that we are getting closer and closer to the weir of the falls. If we wait too long we are finished, and we will NEVER be able to recover our country. So there you have it. Make your choice very soon! HINT–Whatever we do will require a COMMON BOND, NOT JUST WORDS, AND….COMMITMENT!

One observation…..since our premiums are sort of ‘rolled’ into one fund by the insurance companies……..aren’t we already paying for abortions??? just like we’re paying for lung cancer from the smokers, rehab for the alkies and druggies???
