Mississippi primary results, Obama leads, is Hillary slipping? 2008 election

I have had a poll regarding Hillary Clinton’s chances for winning the democratic nomination for several weeks. This is not a scientific poll. The numbers have been very interesting and seem to echo the primary voting and other polls. This is a national poll with small responses. It will be interesting to see how the change in this poll correlates with the results of the Mississippi democratic primary.

The current results, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 are:

Yes  38.2%
No   55.9 %
Too early to tell 5.9 %

CNN is reporting

Governor Spitzer News Conference, indictment expected for prostitution ties, NY governor, Eliot Spitzer

Eliot Spitzer, the democratic governor of NY,  is holding a news conference. Eliot Spitzer apologized to his family and the public after a report that tied him to a prostitution ring.

“acted in way that violates his obligation to his family,”

“I apologize first and most importantly to my family. I apologize to the public, to whom I promised better,”

“I am disappointed that I failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself,”

Spitzer was also known for prosecuting several prostitution rings.

Ken Starr, Obama, Hillary Clinton, Howard Wolfson, compares Obama to Ken Starr

Howard Wolfson, a top Hillary Clinton aide, compared Barack Obama to independent prosecutor Kenneth Starr.

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said “Obama’s statement that he plans to be more critical of Clinton’s record is reminiscent of the attacks the Clintons endured during the investigations in the 1990s.”
“I for one do not believe that imitating Ken Starr is the way to win a Democratic primary election for president. But perhaps that theory will be tested.”

Ken Starr headed up the investigation that led to former President Clinton’s impeachment. Clinton is trying to once again  depict herself as a victim of enemies out to get her.

Once again, if you have any question or doubts about Hillary Clinton, I urge you to read “Rewriting History” by Dick Morris. Here are some interesting passages:

“While I was working for the Clintons, I had firsthand experience with the tactics they used to distract, delay, and derail the work of special prosecutor Kenneth Starr.”

“Most famously, Hillary sought to blame the entire Lewinsky scandal not on Bill, but on enemies of the progressive cause. It was on the Today show, shortly after the Monica scandal broke, that Hillary famously said of Ken Starr’s investigation: “I do believe that this is a battle. I mean, look at the very people who are involved in this. They have popped up in other settings. This is–the great story here for anybody willing to find it and write about it and explain it is this vast right wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president….””

Well, Hillary, I am writing about it. I don’t think I have to explain it though.

Gas prices, oil refineries, global warming, polar bears, environmental wackos, economy

Always follow the money.

We all want a clean environment. Most of us want a healthy economy, jobs and gasoline to get to our jobs. There are some, mostly environmental wackos, that typically don’t have to work for a living. They get government money, non profit money, live with mommy & daddy or just generally bum off of people. They don’t care how high gas price go, or if you can even get it. They don’t have to work for a living.

So, wondering why gas prices are going up? Number 1 reason. Lack of refining capacity. This already existing problem was exacerbated by Hurricane Katrina. Refining capacity was reduced approximately 20 % or more. We are still trying to recover from that. Secondly, we are not using our reserves. Alaska has a huge amount of oil.

So, what is hampering our oil production. Environmental wackos. Let’s take Alaska for example. Of course, they always bring up environmental impact. But they also bring up animals like polar bears and whales. They use pseudo science of global warming and terms like may and could cause. They consistently use false data and science. I hear talk of polar bears becoming extinct almost every day when in fact their numbers have increased. Alleged receding ice will fundamentally have no impact on their numbers.

So, when you fill up with gas, remember who is causing the problem, who only cares about fictitious polar bear issues and could care less about you.

John Coleman, Weather Channel Founder, Sue Al Gore, Carbon Credits, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh

John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, thinks Al Gore should be sued for misrepresenting the impact of carbon dioxide, CO2, and selling carbon credits. Here is an exerpt from Fox News about his recent statement:

“Not Fair and Balanced?

Weather Channel founder John Coleman is calling global warming a fraud and says the station he founded needs to stop telling people what to think about climate change. The Business and Media Institute reports Coleman was a speaker at the Heartland Institute’s Climate Change Conference in New York. Coleman was referencing what some call the Weather Channel’s global warming alarmism.

One of its meteorologists suggested two years ago that weathercasters who have doubts about global warming should lose their certification. Coleman advocates suing people who sell carbon credits — including Al Gore — because the attention in the courts could, in his words, “put some light on the fraud of global warming.”

The two-day conference is actually getting quite a bit of media coverage — with stories in the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Sun and many others.”

The trancript of John Coleman’s conversation is listed on Rush Limabaugh’s website. Rush members can listen to it. Here are John Coleman’s remarks:

 “BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: John Coleman, who founded the Weather Channel, wants to sue Algore on this whole business of global warming being a hoax.  I have loved John Coleman ever since he used to be the weatherman at Good Morning America. He was on Fox & Friends today, and Steve Doocy said, “Why should Algore be sued?”

COLEMAN:  The whole backbone of the global warming “science” is what they called CO2 forcing.  This is carbon dioxide, and they say that this little trace compound in the atmosphere — 38 molecules of carbon dioxide out of a hundred thousand molecules in our atmosphere, they say this little trace element — puts the carbon in the air that forces the water vapor to create this uncontrollable global warming. It’s gonna bring this climatic catastrophe.

DOOCY: Right. Right.

COLEMAN: All right, that’s what they’re finding.  Now, I don’t believe that’s the way it works at all.

DOOCY: Mmm-hmm. Mmm-hmm.

COLEMAN: I see absolutely no evidence that CO2, carbon dioxide, is causing any warm-up in temperatures.  I don’t think it’s happening. I’m asking the question:  If Al Gore knows that CO2 forcing is invalid — isn’t really happening — and he goes ahead and sells these carbon credits for millions of dollars, is he committing financial fraud?  That is the question.

RUSH:  Doocy says, “Well, John, there’s no disputing the temperature on the planet’s gone up by one degree.” Steve, it’s come down a degree! The whole century gain was wiped out before recent temperature readings, and here’s what Coleman said.

COLEMAN:  I dispute that.

DOOCY:  You do dispute that!

COLEMAN:  I think the whole statistics are somewhat questionable.  Where are they measuring this temperature?  Who’s measuring it?  How are they handling the data?

DOOCY:  The whole global warming thing is just a hyped scam?

COLEMAN:  Maybe over the last hundred years the temperature on planet Earth went up by close to a degree or so.

DOOCY: Mmm-hmm?

COLEMAN: That’s not a big deal.  In the last 12 months, the climate on earth has gone down by a full degree.  This has been the coldest winter in modern history globally.

DOOCY: Sure.

RUSH:  Amen.  John Coleman.  I love that guy.

Iraq War justification, Iraq War reasons, can we justify, George W Bush or Bill Clinton, media lies, political lies, truth

On February 23, 2008 I posted the following:

https://citizenwells.wordpress.com/2008/02/23/iraq-war-justification-iraq-war-reasons-can-we-justify-hillary-clinton-john-mccain-barrack-obama/

This post was a list of 10 quotes regarding Saddam Hussein. I did not provide the source of the quotes at that time. Many people, for whatever reason, believe only George W Bush took the posture indicated in the quotes, when in reality, the entire Clinton administration believed that Saddam Hussein had WMD, had used them on his own people, posed a real threat and that the US was ready to stop him. All of the quotes from the original post came from the Clinton Administration. Below are the original quotes, followed by the source and the dates. Also, below, I have supplied the links to the CNN articles that contain the quotes. Interesting, isn’t it? Think of all the lies that have been told about George W Bush and the acceptance of revisionist history.

” We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the
stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass
destruction.”  “The chemical weapons Saddam has used and the biological weapons we know he has tested pay no attention to borders and nationalities.”   Madeleine Albright, February 1, 1998

2.  “If diplomacy runs out, we have reserved the right to use
force and if we do so it will be substantial.”   Madeleine Albright, February 1, 1998

3.  “No one has done what Saddam Hussein has done, or is thinking of doing.  He is producing weapons of mass destruction, and he is qualitatively and quantitatively different from other dictators.”   Madeleine Albright, February 18, 1998

4.  “What we are doing is so that you all can sleep at night.  I am very proud of what we are doing.  We are the greatest nation in the world and what we are doing is being the indispensable nation, willing to make the world safe for our children and grandchildren, and for nations who follow the rules.”    Madeleine Albright, February 18, 1998

5.  “Saddam (Hussein) must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.”   Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998

6.  “If Saddam can cripple the weapons inspections sytem and get away with it, he would conclude the international community, led by the United States, has simply lost its will.  He would surmise that he has free rein to rebuild his arsenal of destruction.”   Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998

7.  “Earlier today I ordered America’s armed forces to strike
military and security targets in Iraq.  They are joined by British forces.  Their mission is to attack Iraq’s nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.  While other countires also had weapons of mass desctuction, Hussein is in a different category because he has used such weapons
against his own people and against his neighbors.   Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998

8.  “Along with Prime minister (Tony)Blair of Great Britain, I made it equally clear that if Saddam failed to cooperate fully we would be prepared to act without delay, diplomacy or warning.”   Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998

9.  “The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi goverment — a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people.”   Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998

10.  “But once more, the United States has proven that although we are never eager to use force, when we must act in America’s vital interests, we will do so.”   Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998

Liberal lies, media lies, Iraq war reasons, students misled, George W Bush, Clinton administration

I just received 2 comments from what appears to be a sincere college student. I am assuming this student wants to hear the truth. I will present the truth here. The 2 comments are below, just as submitted:

Comment on #4: this argument is thought provoking, however, I disagree with the assumption that the U.S is the world police. The U.S is not the world police. The UN was created specifically to take the position of being the world police, and to form stability among nations. The U.S needs to let the UN do its job.

Comment on #3 : I think this argument is right about Saddam Hussein being a bad man , but I respectfully disagree with the assumption that Saddam Hussein’s evilness was the only reason the U.S took it upon itself to invade Iraq. There is also an assumption that the Iraq war had nothing to do with oil, when it is painfully obvious that it did have a lot to do with oil and the power to dominate. The Bush Administration drove us to believe that the war effort was promoting humanitarianism and was to remove threats, “WMD”, but the truth is Iraq pose no threat to the U.S because there was no WMD, and the attack was obviously for personal reasons hold by the Bush Administration. The U.S is not a world police. It is not our job to attack every country that has bad leadership, if that’s the case we need to be attacking our self for our bad leadership.

First of all, all of the quotes of my original post were made by the Clinton Administration and not President George W Bush. I will respond with another post and provide the source and date of each quote.

Regarding the United Nations and the US playing the role of police: Just as in World War II, the US has had to come to the rescue of the world. The United Nations failed to perform it’s duty to deal with Saddam Hussein. Why did this occur? Fundamentally because France, Germany and Russia were “in bed” with him financially. As you now know, the Clinton Administration considered Saddam Hussein a serious threat and were prepared to take action against him.

Here is my answer to the second comment. Once again, you responded to comment #3 of my post which also was a Clinton Administration quote. Saddam Hussein used WMD on multiple occasions against Iran and his own people. There is absolutely no proof that he did not have them when we invaded or that he was not producing them. Saddam Hussein was a very evil man who was capable of doing anything that he was not stopped from doing. He murdred hundreds of his own people, invaded Kuwait, destroyed the habitat of people in the southern part of Iraq and raped and tortured many others.

I would like to know where you got your informatiom. Was it the media, your teachers, your friends? I hope that you will follow up on this and seek the facts and the truth. Also, read 1984 by George Orwell or reread it. Pay particular attention to doublespeak. If you have any questions or comments, please respond.

Sincerely,

Citizen Wells

John Stuart Mill, War, Good cause, Liberal Parliament member, War quote

John Stuart Mill was a British philosopher, political economist, civil servant and liberal Member of Parliament. He was also a  influential liberal thinker of the 19th century and a teacher of utilitarianism, an ethical theory developed by Jeremy Bentham. Mill was an advocate for Ireland, and the first Parliament member to propose that women be given the right to vote. Mill was a strong advocate of women’s rights. He believed that in some cases, war is the lesser of evils. Here is John Stuart Mill’s  famous quote concerning war:
“But war, in a good cause, is not the greatest evil which a nation can suffer. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. When a people are used as mere human instruments for firing cannon or thrusting bayonets, in the service and for the selfish purposes of a master, such war degrades a people. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice – a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their free choice – is often the means of their regeneration. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other.”

Marc Rich, Denise Rich, Clinton pardons, criminals, Denise Rich donations, Rewriting History

Dick Morris, in his book “Rewriting History”, addresses the Marc Rich pardon and large donations to the Clintons and Democratic Party from the exwife of Marc Rich, Denise. Here are some excerpts:

“Of course, that was not Clinton’s only problematic pardon. The most controversial went to Mark Rich, a fugitive who fled the United States, renounced his American citizenship, and settled in Switzerland to avoid answering federal fraud charges. National anger over pardoning a man who wouldn’t appear in court and was no longer even an American citizen-and still won’t come back to the United States as of this writing-was long and loud.

Rich’s estranged wife, songwriter and Clinton supporter Denise Rich, fought hard for the pardon, and distributed her financial largesse far and wide to win favorable consideration. Among her donations to Clinton-related funds was $ 450,000 to the Clinton Library, $10,000 to the Clinton’s legal defense fund, $ 70,000 to the Hillary Clinton campaign or committees that suppported her campaign, as well as a gift of $ 7,000 worth of furniture to the Clintons. Rich also gave $ 1 million to the Democratic Party and other Democratic candidates.”

“Rewriting History” by Dick Morris is a must read.
