Governor perdue veto, Override veto of Health Care Freedom Act, ObamaCare unconstitutional
Governor Beverly Perdue recently vetoed legislation to exclude NC from Obamacare. She claimed that it would be too expensive to fight and many other states were already doing so. It is my understanding that the NC Attorney General’s office has stated that the expense would not be great.
From the Beaufort Observer March 6, 2011.
“A year into ObamaCare and by any measure an honest person would have to say it has been a failure. And even if the Democrats were to contest that use of terms, they would nonetheless be hard pressed to show the numbers that would indicate anything but a failure to accomplish the goals that were outlined for it by the President in the 97 speeches he made in trying to get it passed.
You can read the numbers here but a quick overview shows that while Obama claimed the basic goal was to eliminate people without health insurance the numbers show that the percentage of Americans without health insurance has climbed, not declined. And on the objective of “making health care more affordable” the numbers show that that number of Americans who have employer-paid health insurance benefits has decreased. And the affordability factor for the taxpayer has also decreased as a larger percentage of Americans are now on government-paid insurance (Medicare, Medicaid etc.).
Moreover, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified before Congress last week and admitted that the $500 million “savings” for Medicare that Team Obama touted in getting the bill passed has not, and likely will never, materialize. And this was the reason North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan gave for voting for ObamaCare.
Meanwhile, we read in the news frequently about Team Obama exempting another of thousands of businesses from the law’s mandates and as recently as last week President Obama told a group of governors assembled in Washington that he would be willing to allow states to opt-out of some of the most costly provisions of the law.
Nonetheless, North Carolina’s Governor, Bev. Perdue Saturday (3-5-11) vetoed the Republican legislative plan to exclude North Carolina from the law and to contest its constitutionality before the U. S. Supreme Court.
So in summary, the law’s impact has had exactly the opposite effect from what Obama claimed it would have. The ‘bottom line’ is that more Americans have less access to health care and it is more expense than before ObamaCare was passed. And our Governor and Attorney General choose to stick with it.”

In 2008 NC echoed the national map in voting patterns. Obama stole the large metro
areas and the Charlotte Metro area in NC. The vast majority of the land mass, more rural
voted against him. That has been one of the problems with the rapid growth in NC. BO “won”
by an extremely small margin here. I would be willing to bet that voter fraud made the
difference. There was controversy in many areas such as Alamance County, adjacent to Greensboro.

Living in SE North Carolina and keeping active in our cause, I was appalled this morning, listening to local talk show host, Curtis Wright. Curtis is the morning host on WAAV conservative talk radio.
He is saying that after Bev Perdue meeting with Obama, she received a phone call from the White House , telling her to veto the Healthcare Freedom Act, or when they come to Charlotte, they will find a new govenor in North Carolina.

But in Obama’s case, regardless of proof of birthplace, we have a legal question that must be determined by the legislature and reviewed by the judiciary (or must go directly to the courts).
We have a legal question, but the relevant fact is not in dispute: Obama was born with dual citizenship. Obama’s own “Fight the Smears” website carefully avoids the question of whether the president is a natural born citizen. It reads:

There is a clear, concise definition of the term “Natural Born Citizen” in Vattel’s Law of Nations which was the principal legal reference book used by the Founding Fathers in writing the Constitution.
“The natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens…it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”

A few points to add to the discussion:
1. Personality disorders are unique in that they are exaggerations of traits we might all have. Example: if I carefully pack and plan for a trip including selecting which underwear I will wear every day and color coordinate my ties and socks I would not be accurately diagnosed as having an obsessive compulsive disorder. The traits observed must result in a dysfunctional impediment to carry a DSM code. If I was so careful about packing that I missed my flight (dysfunction) then we might want a diagnostic referral for me. So, it is completely possible to exhibit many of the traits of a personality disorder without meeting the diagnostic criteria.
2. If there is one personality disorder there may be more. They come in clusters. The Narcissistic Personality Disorder is part of the “B” cluster disorders. (Cluster B (the Dramatic, Emotional, or Erratic Cluster) is comprised of the Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic, and Narcissistic Personality Disorders.) So, if a person has one personality disorder he/she may have two or three more.
3. Obama exhibits several traits of the “B” cluster disorders but I do not think he can be seen as dysfunctional. So while a personality can be difficult and problematic it is not the same thing as being “diagnosable”.
4. I am sure we are all agreed that there is no such thing as an “In absentia” diagnosis.
5. So, in the interests of accuracy, it seems appropriate to say that Obama exhibits many of the traits associated with Cluster B (the Dramatic, Emotional, or Erratic Cluster) is comprised of the Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic, and Narcissistic Personality Disorders, but he probably does not fit the diagnostic criteria for any of the cluster “B” disorders. That does not mean that he is not dangerous to the public and a PITA to all who know him.
6. If one were to inappropriately do an “in absentia” diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder it would also be necessary to describe the behavior observed in Obama that is associated with the other cluster “B” disorders.

It seems to me (cue Twilight Zone theme) that several infiltrators have successfully posed as “one of us”, and like the one we continually condemn- have gotten away with it, without censure! Pot meet kettle! It’s quite disturbing.
Last year- year and a half- it was a very prominent blog that suddenly disappeared, then when it reappeared, the blog owner was…different. Not a different person, per se, just a completely different attitude. Many people noticed. This year, it happened to another prominent blog in the movement. It’s been completely co-opted. And now, it’s just wretched to watch the sniping going on here. CW, you are surely a more tolerant person that I would be. I will ask you though, are you concerned about how the sniping reflects poorly and diminishes the credibility of this great blog?

By now you’ve probably heard the news that the Corn Refiners Association has petitioned the FDA to change the name for high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) to “corn sugar”. They claim their petition is in the interest of “consumer clarity”.

People with low self esteem get really upset when insulted. Those with confidence usually ignore insults.

Dr. Sam, this can be a characteristic of low self-esteem, as you have pointed out; however, I have found through interpersonal relationships in my lifetime that symptoms a person manifests may be just the opposite.
For example, an individual who constantly feels the overwhelming need to commend himself to others most often is suffering from low self-worth. One who is constantly bragging and who has the driving need to force his opinions on others can also be afflicted with low self-esteem.
In other words, one who feels comfortable in his own skin, coupled with humility, is most often a well-adjusted individual. That doesn’t mean, however, that he cannot rebut or reprove another’s false statements about him/her. Meekness should not be confused with weakness.

First let me say that I will be supporting Trump, so I have “no dog in this fight” but I could have sworn that I heard Herman Cain say that he doesn’t support getting rid of the Fed since we have nothing to replace it with however he does support auditing it.
I don’t remember where I heard it, but I think it was on one of the Fox shows.

They are weak. They tip toe around the natural born Citizen issue as if they are afraid to hurt Obama’s feelings. Their ignorance of the requirements, to qualify to be President, and the meaning of natural born Citizen is criminal. They are not keeping their oath to protect and defend the Constitution. They are purposely avoiding what they consider to be a “third rail” while they ignore patriotic Citizens warnings of an ineligible usurper in the White House. Congress needs to get off of their ass and start defending this country against the foreign born enemy usurper. Obama did not break the law to become president because he wanted to make this a better country, he broke the law to usurp the presidency for nefarious reasons, and is a definite security risk.

idealism, and leadership.
It's OK to express your frustrations. We all have them, and we can

Managing my own blog takes up most of my spare time so I only check in here occasionally. Overall, I see this forum as far more civilized than other places I visit.
People with low self esteem get really upset when insulted. Those with confidence usually ignore insults. That is why you can get yourself killed for dissing someone in ht e “hood” or insulting a Muslim.
That is also why one never sees a bumper sticker that says, “I am English and I am proud”.
Only those who are self esteem challenged react to challenges to self esteem.

Hi Sam….I totally agree with you…..Pacman, indyMUCK, susiepoo and now Autistic man appear to be the folks you speak about with LOW SELF-ESTEEM……I am one of Charlie’s Angels and those reacting as all can see are immature cry babies and now as you point out…..probably have little confidence…..when they don’t get their way or they can’t take the heat back that they dish out then they WAA….WAA about it! We all want what we want now, including me.

national elections, we will have to settle for incremental gains as they

Is this true? Or a satire??
If this is true, this is a MOMENTOUS EVENT. To my knowledge, this is the first time that “born in HI” ever fell from his lips or pen – ever. It is “common knowledge” that he has claimed this numerous times, but that knowledge is wrong. Up until now, that information has ALWAYS come second hand from expendable mouthpieces.
Obama has previously kept himself personally at arm’s length legally from any of the lies or fraud. If my memory serves, the only time he has ever blatantly done anything is in signing a form were he self-asserted himself as eligible. But even that is “soft” in that he could claim “confusion” and “uncertainity” and “lack of definition” as to technical terms of art.
So – Is this a major break in the dike?
