“Ten Commandment judge returns: Roy Moore sworn in as Alabama’s chief justice”
“In a ceremony heavy on references to God and scripture, Roy Moore took the oath of office today as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
Moore was joined by many relatives and a number of classmates from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, where he graduated in 1969.
An overflow crowd attended the investiture ceremony at the state judicial building to see Moore return to the office roughly nine years after he was removed for his refusal to follow a federal judge’s order to remove a Ten Commandments monument that Moore had placed in the state judicial building. Moore has said that order was wrong.
He did not mention the controversy during today’s speech. He did quote George Washington from an inaugural address on the subject of acknowledging God.
“It was right then to acknowledge God. And it will continue to be so,” Moore said.
He also said the foundation of the judicial system was laid in Deuteronomy 1:16-17.
“We’ve got to remember that most of what we do in court comes from some scripture or is backed by scripture,” Moore said.
More than 100 people watched the ceremony from an overflow area on closed-circuit television.
Tommy Bryan, a member of the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals since 2005, was sworn in as an associate Supreme Court justice.
Bryan was elected to fill the seat vacated by Justice Thomas Woodall, who retired.
Moore was sworn in Circuit Judge John Bentley from the state’s 25th Judicial Circuit, which includes Marion and Winston counties. Bentley attended West Point with Moore. Bentley introduced a number of other West Point graduates who came to Montgomery for Moore’s swearing in.
Justice Michael Bolin swore in Bryan, whom he called one of his best friends.
C.O. Grinstead, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford, drove to Montgomery to see Moore sworn in. He said Moore was a long-time friend.
“I’m thankful he ran and that is not a derogatory statement against the previous chief justice,” Grinstead said. “I just think the name Roy Moore is a statement in itself against crime and something for great morality.””

“Battle-scarred judge says Lakin decision ignores Constitution”
” The military judge who curiously noted without explanation that uncovering evidence about President Obama’s birth records could prove “embarrassing” and denied an officer the right to obtain potentially exculpatory evidence in a court-martial simply has forgotten the Constitution, the supreme rule of the United States.
So says Judge Roy Moore, who battled the politically correct climate as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court a decade ago and ultimately was removed from office by a state panel that refused to review the constitutionality of a federal court order.
His comments came today in an interview with WND about Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, who yesterday was denied permission by Army Col. Denise R. Lind to obtain evidence that could document Obama is not eligible to occupy the Oval Office.
Lakin refused to follow his latest deployment orders to go to Afghanistan, because he was unable through Army channels to document Obama’s eligibility, and the president himself has declined opportunities to do so.
Judge Moore, who now operates through the Foundation for Moral Law, has personal experience with challenging the powers that be to follow the Constitution. His dispute centered on a Ten Commandments display he put in a state building to recognize the God who inspired the Founders of America.
A federal judge opined that the monument shouldn’t be there and ordered its removal. Moore refused and ultimately was removed from office by a state commission that he says “blindly” followed the order without evaluating its legitimacy.
With her decision, Lind mirrored a number of federal judges who have ruled on civil lawsuits over Obama’s eligibility. They have without exception denied the plaintiffs’ access to any requested documentation regarding the president’s eligibility.
Lind ruled that it was “not relevant” for the military to be considering such claims, that the laws allegedly violated by Lakin were legitimate on their face and that the chain of command led up to the Pentagon, and that should have been sufficient for Lakin.
Moore said the ruling is a symptom of a judiciary across the nation that now believes in following “blindly.”
“The highest law in this country is not the order of the Supreme Court of the U.S., not the order of the commander in chief, or any subordinate officer,” he said.
Instead, it is the Constitution, which in this particular case demands that the president be a “natural born citizen,” a requirement not imposed on other officers.
There have been dozens of lawsuits and challenges over the fact that Obama’s eligibility never has been documented. The “Certification of Live Birth” his campaign posted online is a document that Hawaii has made available to those not born in the state.
“Lt. Col. Lakin has every right to question the lawfulness of the orders of the commander in chief. He’s not only the commander in chief, he dictates the whole war effort, as shown by the recent firing of [Gen. Stanley McChrystal],” Moore said.
It doesn’t matter, he said, that orders come from a colonel, or a general or even the Pentagon.
“The same thing applies in the military as in the judicial system,” he explained. “The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, it’s not the order of a higher officer, not the order of a judge.”
Lind found that since Congress allocates money for the war effort and the Pentagon was created, an order tracing back to the military hierarchy should have been sufficient for Lakin.
“That’s wrong,” Moore said. “They’re not the commander in chief.
“No order in the military can be issued without the authority that backs the order. The president didn’t give the order, but he is the authority that backs the order,” he said.
With the current protocol to simply follow orders, Moore warned, the U.S. will develop more incidents like that involving Lt. William Calley in Vietnam. The atrocities of My Lai were carried out under the guise of “following orders,” Moore noted.

A Wonderful Story
Several years ago I was sitting around thinking of my youth and all of a sudden the song “Jesus Loves Me” came into my head. I always loved this song in Sunday School and through the years I suddenly noticed I don’t hear it. I went to the computer and googled up “Jesus Loves Me” and it came up with the writer being Anna B. Warner. I did a wikipedia on her and got the Constitution Island Ass’n. Here is the story –
The Life of Anna Warner
In 1944, John Hersey wrote an article for The New Yorker entitled “Survival.” This was the story, told to him by John F. Kennedy, concerning the rescue of Kennedy and his crew after their PT boat was destroyed in the Solomons. After being stranded several days on an island, Kennedy and his men were discovered by two natives Through the efforts of these natives, who led a rescue boat to the island, the men were saved. Hersey concludes his dramatic account with this anecdote: “Johnston (one of the rescued men) retired topside and sat with his arms around a couple of roly poly, mission-trained natives. And in the fresh breeze on the way home they sang together a hymn all three happened to know:
“Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so:
Little ones to Him belong.
They are weak,
but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me;
yes, Jesus loves me . . . . ”
To Hersey’s readers, in the midst of World War II, these well-known words with their simple expression of faith must have had a special meaning. This familiar hymn, carried all over the world by nineteenth century missionaries, has long been a part of the Christian education of many children. The simple words and lilting tune are easily learned and thus make it a great favorite in Sunday school classes for young children. No doubt, it was this same simplicity that made it so popular with the missionaries for, apparently, once learned, it is never forgotten. Therefore, it is not so surprising that it should pop up as a common bond between the American sailors and the Solomon Island natives.
Jesus Loves Me first appeared in a novel, Say and Seal, published in 1860.
The book was co-authored by Susan and Anna Warner, and the hymn itself was written by Anna. In Say and Seal the hymn was sung to a little boy who was very ill by his beloved school teacher and friend. The child-like faith expressed in the words were inspired by Anna’s own profound faith in God. The two Warner sisters were writers who enjoyed great popularity during the latter half of the nineteenth century. Today their books are unread and out of print, but the two women, themselves, are not forgotten.
Susan and Anna Warner are the only civilians buried in the military cemetery at West Point. Their life long home on Constitution Island, directly across the river from West Point is maintained as a museum. The story of how this all came about is a charming vignette in the long history of the United States Military Academy.
The year following the purchase of the island, Mr. Warner suffered severe financial losses in the “Panic of 1837″. In 1838 the beautiful town house was sold and the family moved to Constitution Island. Here, Anna wrote, they would “live out our lives, fighting the fight, wrestling with sorrow, gathering up the joy—”. She concluded: “How little discernment a buyer has at first as to the capabilities of his new purchase! For what “palace” could ever have been as dear to us as our old Revolutionary nondescript house?”
Anna was thirteen years old and Susan eighteen when they came to the island to live. Young Anna, as she roamed the island, picking wild flowers, exploring the sites of old Revolutionary forts and rowing on the river, barely realized the financial difficulties of her father. Shortly after their move to Constitution Island, Mr. Warner became involved in lengthy litigation with his neighbors on the east bank over his property rights; a litigation which he finally lost. he next decade saw the little family reduced to desperation and faced with eviction; their beloved island property in the hands of a receiver.

In 1875 the opportunity came for Susan and Anna Warner to communicate their faith to the cadets at West Point. At the request of several cadets, Susan began a Bible class for them on Sunday afternoons in the Cadet Chapel. Anna tells us:, “The first day, there was a very large gathering, curiosity helping on the numbers. After that, it varied from week to week, as must be always, I suppose; especially among Cadets, where guard duty sometimes interferes; and where Sunday is the free day for seeing friends.”
“At home, in the summer, they met in our tent near the house, the forage caps tossed out upon the grass; the gray figures in all sorts of positions in and out of the tent”.
Following is a vivid account of these classes written by a former cadet and published in 1925 by Olivia Phelps Stokes in her biography of the sisters.
“The visits to Constitution Island were regarded as a great privilege, for not only did they make a break in the severe routine of the daily life but they enabled the boys to roam further a field than was possible at the Academy, where the restrictions of the cadet limits were pretty irksome to boys accustomed to the free run of the town or country. So the privilege of going to Constitution Island as one of “Miss Warner’s boys” was eagerly sought and highly prized. Every Sunday afternoon during the summer encampment the sisters would send their elderly man of all work after the favored ones. He pulled the old flat-bottomed boat across the river to the West Point dock, where the boys with the coveted permits were wailing for him. Usually the trip back was accompanied with more or less excitement, for the boat was always loaded to the last inch of its carrying capacity.
Miss Susan Warner awaited her guests in the orchard. She always sat in the same big chair supported by many cushions. She was a frail little woman with a long face deeply lined with thought and care, lighted with large, dark very brilliant eyes. As she sat in her chair with the boys in a semi-circle around her on the grass she looked like a print from Godey’s Lady’s Book of half a century before. She always wore silk dresses of a small flowered pattern, made with voluminous skirts of wonderful stiffness, and rustle, and small close fitting bodices. A rich Paisley shawl was always around her shoulders and a broad black velvet ribbon was bound around her hair, which was only slightly gray.
After each of the boys had read a Bible verse. Miss Warner, choosing her subject from some New Testament text, talked to them for perhaps half an hour until her enthusiasm and interest had obviously almost exhausted her small strength. Her English was the best and purest I have ever heard, and as she went on and her interest grew her eyes shone, like stars and her voice became rich and warm. There was never any cant or sectarianism, and she always gave to the boys the brightest and most optimistic side of the faith she loved so well. When she had finished and lay back pale and weary against her cushions her sister. Miss Anna, came down from the house with the rare treat of the whole week, tea and homemade ginger-bread. After that the two sisters and the boys talked over the things of the world that seemed so far from that peaceful quiet orchard. The boys confided their aims and ambitions, and the sisters in the simplest, most unostentatious way sought to implant right ideals and principles. Miss Warner never forgot any of her boys, and up to the time of her death kept up a correspondence with many of them. This correspondence must have been voluminous, for it embraced men in every branch of the service, and included alike distinguished officers and cadets who had failed. . . “
After the death of Susan Warner in 1885, Anna continued the Bible classes for cadets. Each week Buckner, her “elderly man of all work” would row her over to West Point to teach her Cadet Bible Class. She always brought with her individual nosegays of flowers from her garden to brighten up their rooms. Even though she often remained on the island up through early December, she never failed to meet her class. One time, in late November, this intrepid lady records that she started out, with Buckner rowing the boat, but was forced to turn back midway in the river because of storm and wind. So the classes continued up until the time of Anna Warner’s death in 1915.

Excellent post Gordo. Points out the obvious hypocrisy of the “General.”
But on a side note…………. and this really irks me ………. I hear so many liberals refer to the “food chain”. I’ve heard this term used for years. The first time I heard it, it made me cringe. It seemed they were stealing the dignity from hard working people who were striving to provide for their families, and relegating to them the status of an amoeba.
I for one am tired of this term! It’s about time the common man rediscovered his worth…… his dignity………..

I went to see “zero dark 30′ this weekend….one of the things that really popped out at me, which I have been noticing lately was; the NEW spelling of Osama Bin Ladens name to Usama??? They refered to him as UBL…So I ‘googled’ “Osama to Usama and Why” there are few theories most seem to be to seperate Obama from Osama but one pointed out that USA were the first three letters of the NEW spelling of USAma…..Why not just change Obama to Ubama?

There are several different spellings of many names, mostly due to how they’re transcribed; it was the same way with Kadaffi, Gadaffi, Qaddafi, etc.
The film has gotten good reviews however, bin Laden has been dead for many years. I still wonder exactly who was killed that night and whose body was thrown overboard with no eyewitness accounts or photos. Seems as if barky was trying to be the hero we know he’s not….

A couple of comments: 1) How is a gun going to protect Feinstein from a bomb? and 2) I agree with SueK–I still wonder exactly who was killed that night and whose body was thrown overboard with no eyewitness accounts or photos.
I am praying that the first case put to Justice Roy Moore will be from Orly with a overwhelming case against Soetoro,and hopefully she will be representing sombody who has standing. We will quickly learn if he has a pair of golf balls or not. We need to find somebody in Alabama who has standing then get Orly to file the lawsuit in behalf of that person.
Judge Pirro has torn the editor of the slimey liberal newspaper,a new anus. She laid it all out. Now all the people who were outed by the publishing of their addresses,and having firearms,should now file a class action against the newspaper,for a real chunk of change. I am thinking such an action is probably forthcoming against the newspaper,and against the editor as well.

I am praying that the first case put to Justice Roy Moore will be from Orly with a overwhelming case against Soetoro,and hopefully she will be representing sombody who has standing. We will quickly learn if he has a pair of golf balls or not. We need to find somebody in Alabama who has standing then get Orly to file the lawsuit in behalf of that person.

Zero Dark 30 was very well constructed, great acting, great production great direction however IT WAS clearly propaganda the script was not acurate…Anyone who does not know the story will find it very believable…..I just want to point out the clear and deliberate attempts by Hollywood to change Osama Bin Ladens name to Usama or UBL…Also…The movie did NOT credit Dr. Shakil Afridi which might be for his own good, down playing his role might be best for his current situation….Releasing this movie BEFORE they got him and his family out of Pakistan because of this administrations desperate need for self congradulatory adulation is not surprising but should be acknowleged…Are they doing anything to get him out? Did they leave him there on purpose?? Could the Pakistan be holding him at the request of this administration???
P.S. Dianne Feinstien came out before this film was released to make her opionion well known that ‘too many secrets’ were told in this film??? REALLY??? IF IF IF there were any “secrets” revealed, DO you think this film ever would have been released??? HELL NO…This was an indorsement of it’s validity in selling thier B.S. to the American people.

One thing is certain where MMMMSSSSSSS.Feinstein is concerned…..she seems to enjoy lots of HARE PIE. There have been well over 100 cases to date that were about eligibility and Natural Born Citizen status. Not one case has yet been allowed nor evidence to be presented against the usurper. When it looked like evidence would be allowed as in a previous case in Georgia the Judge residing over the case was blackmailed, intimided or something to rule in favor of Obama. I shall be real interested to see how this Judge rules after receiving overwhelming evidence that Obama should not be in our W.H. Will he be like all the other Judges to date or will he have the right stuff to stand against tyranny and allow evidence to be heard and make a decent ruling on such evidence or will he cave like all the other Federal Judges that aren’t worth his weight for Liberty, Justice and the American way. .
