On Saturday, June 26, 2004, Barack Obama sat in a recording studio in Chicago to give his party’s response to President Bush’s weekly radio address. The
speech offered the new Democratic Senate candidate from Illinois one of his first big moments on the national stage. In his remarks-written entirely by his
longtime media adviser, David Axelrod, and by his chief press aide, Robert Gibbs-Obama criticized Bush on a litany of economic issues, from rising health-
care costs and unfair tax policies to job outsourcing. The eloquent and well-argued talk hit all the right Democratic buttons. And the radio waves showcased
Obama’s trademark baritone-deep in pitch, authoritative and reassuring in tone.
But Obama thought the address came off flat. Something was missing. “It was good, but it was nothing awe inspiring,” recalls Gibbs. “It was kind of obvious
that he was recording the words of somebody else.”
So it was not exactly a surprise when, one week later-after John Kerry’s campaign manager, Mary Beth Cahill, called Obama and told him that he had been
picked to deliver the Democratic National Convention’s keynote address-Obama gave his aides a firm directive: he would write the speech himself. “One thing
that he was very clear about telling us,” says Gibbs, “-and I think it was largely out of that experience of the weekly radio address-was he wanted to write
this speech and write it in a way that was personal.””
“The keynote speech that Barack Obama delivered on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, galvanized the delegates who packed Boston’s FleetCenter and electrified a
nationwide television audience. The 2,297 words uttered over 17 minutes changed Obama’s profile overnight and made him a household name. Before the speech,
the idea of Obama running for president in 2008 would have been laughable; he was a lowly state senator from Chicago’s Hyde Park, and while he stood a good
chance at winning his U.S. Senate race, he would enter that powerful body ranked 99th out of 100 in seniority. After the speech, observers from across the
political world hailed the address as an instant classic, and Obama was drawing comparisons (deservedly or not) to Martin Luther King Jr. and John F.
Kennedy.
None of this happened by chance. Obama’s selection as keynote speaker was carefully plotted by all sides for maximum effect, and the speech itself was no
outpouring of inspiration scribbled on the back of an envelope. Obama labored over it for weeks, harvesting lines that he had already tested on Illinois
crowds. He is said to have been furious when one of his best remarks was cut by Kerry’s speechwriters. And even after all the preparation, the editing and
vetting by aides to Obama and Kerry, and the three run-throughs at the convention, the speech almost didn’t take flight-on the dais, Obama was slow to hit
his stride. But once he got going, the speech-and his career-took off: “Without that Boston speech, there’s a question whether Barack would be running [for
president] today,” says his fellow senator from Illinois, Dick Durbin. “His public image changed because of that speech.” Valerie Jarrett, a veteran Chicago
politico and one of Obama’s longtime friends, puts it more succinctly: “It changed his life.””
“Who the Heck Is This Guy?” Obama admitted in interviews at the time that he was “totally surprised” by the speaking invitation. (Through his spokesman, he
declined to be interviewed for this story.) As he put it in his book The Audacity of Hope: “The process by which I was selected as the keynote speaker
remains something of a mystery to me.”

I think you’re right! I’M highly pi$$ed already,because I know where the money is coming from………..you guessed it……Social Security System. Hyderabad – SEAL Team 4 Commanding Officer Job W. Price commit suicide. He was best known for finding and then killing Osama bin Laden.
Cmdr. Job W. Price, 42, died Saturday, Dec. 22, of a non-combat-related injury while supporting stability operations in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.
Suicide of the Officer of this grade raises many questions among the media, as the team was best known for killing Osama Bin Laden that assaulted his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 1, 2011.
Military officials are looking into the death of Cmdr. Job W. Price as a possible suicide, but that his death remains under investigation.
Price, 42, of Pottstown, Pa., was in charge of coordinating all Team 4 missions.
Price was in Afghanistan supporting stability operations in Uruzgan Province. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit based in Virginia Beach, Va.
SEAL Team 4 is among eight SEAL team deployments. SEAL Team 6 is best known among them for finding and then killing Osama bin Laden.

A US military official said the death “appears to be the result of suicide”. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the death is still being investigated.
“The Naval Special Warfare family is deeply saddened by the loss of our teammate,” said Captain Robert Smith, commander of Naval Special Warfare Group Two, which manages all Virginia-based Navy Seal teams.
“We extend our condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, and NSW community during this time of grieving.”
Smith added: “As we mourn the loss and honour the memory of our fallen teammate, those he served with will continue to carry out the mission.”.
A US military official confirmed Price was from Virginia Beach, Virginia-based Seal Team 4, which is part of the mission to train Afghan local police to fend off the Taliban in remote parts of Afghanistan.
Price is survived by a wife and a daughter.

……..one way to fight tax increases for an employer is to shut down his American plants,and hop on board one of the huge ships that are taking the production facilities to other countries where labor is available at still resonable prices. Tiny countries like Burma,and even some Central American
countries are offerring huge incentive packages for American companies to locate on their soil. I personally think that an American manufacturer owes it to himself to at least look at the idea of relocation to a foreign country. Most of the time an American manufacturer can cut his own deal with the prospective country. Often they will invest in building a new facility to house his business. TAX,and rent free for quite some time.

experience… I’d like to start by asking you to once again describe your
famous Christmas Eve, secret mission into Cambodia… Which I find most
interesting since you weren’t even in SE Asia during the Christmas time of
year? Then I would like to ask… is consorting with our nations enemies
part of your “Diplomatic Experience”… Like North Vietnam while we were at
war? The Sandinista’s while we were engaged in conflict in Central America?
The butcher Assad and Saddam Hussein in the Middle East… and the Russians
and Chinese when we were engaged in the Cold War?
And would you explain to us how you recruited your fellow “Winter Soldiers”
to come and testify before Congress about atrocities committed by our

avoid taxes on it in his home state”? “Ask him how he has accumulated such
grand wealth on the salary of a Senator”? “Is it true that your wealth was
derived by marrying homely, if not down right, butt ugly… rich heiresses
and widows”? “And ask him why the men who served with him in Vietnam…
universally hate his guts… along with 99.9% of all Vietnam Veterans”? “Ask
him if it is true that of all the men and women in the U.S. Senate… he is
known to be the most egotistical of them all… only his good buddy, John
McCain comes close. A man who also married well… Birds of a feather”?
And then… I woke up! Ain’t gonna happen… Politicians are gutless!
But I have to ask myself? Is this the face America wants to present to the
rest of the world? A man who has made a career of lies, falsehoods and
deceit? I can think of no human being… who symbolizes the term; “Ugly
American” more than John Kerry. A liar, a phony, arrogant, piece of human
dog squeeze if there ever was one!
Is this a man we should be proud to be hailed as a “Great American”? Can any
foreign leader ever trust a single word out of this man’s mouth… when it
is documented that he has lied to his own countrymen… time after time
after time… Is this the best we have offer? In a perfect world… this man
wouldn’t even be considered for “Dog Catcher”… even though he did manage
to capture two in his lifetime.
He is an insult… a mortal insult… to all who have served.

On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk , England , killed one burglar and wounded a second.
In April, 2000, he was convicted
and is now serving a life term..
How did it become a crime to defend one’s own life in the once great British Empire ?
It started with the Pistols Act of 1903.
This seemingly reasonable law forbade selling pistols to minors or felons and established that handgun sales were to be made only to those who had a license.
The Firearms Act of 1920 expanded licensing to include not only handguns but all firearms except shotguns..
Later laws passed in 1953 and 1967 outlawed the carrying of any weapon by private citizens and mandated the registration of all shotguns.
Momentum for total handgun confiscation began in earnest after the Hungerford mass shooting in 1987. Michael Ryan, a mentally disturbed man with a Kalashnikov rifle, walked down the streets shooting everyone he saw.
When the smoke cleared, 17 people were dead.
The British public, already de-sensitized by eighty years of “gun control”, demanded even tougher restrictions.
(The seizure of all privately owned handguns was the objective even though Ryan used a rifle.)
Nine years later, at Dunblane , Scotland ,
Thomas Hamilton used a semi-automatic weapon to murder 16 children and a teacher at a public school.
For many years, the media had portrayed all gun owners as mentally unstable, or worse, criminals.
Now the press had a real kook with which to beat up law-abiding gun owners.
Day after day, week after week, the media gave up all pretense of objectivity and demanded a total ban on all handguns.

During the years in which the British government incrementally took away most gun rights, the notion that a citizen had the right to armed self-defense came to be seen as vigilantism.

San Antonio Theater Shooting
On Sunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!
Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting?
There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened.
Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week.

I just listened to an interview dated 12/19/11 of author and former Presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin. He wrote a book “Romans 13, The True meaning of Submission”.
In part, Romans 13 says ” Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
Scripturally and historically he denounces the popular interpretation of this verse and explains that most people have a shallow understanding. He mentioned that tyrants used this scripture against Christians in the past (one was Adolph Hitler) in order to get them to roll over and accept what they were being subjected to.
I think it is a vital topic for today and I plan on ordering the book. Just asking, has anyone read it? If so, what did you think?
BTW, aside from of this interview. I just learned about the Geneva Bible which was published before the King James, but BANNED by King James because there were references (footnotes) that implied that the King is not above the law and can rightly be criticized.
It seems to me that our enemies take advantage of us because of our lack of understanding……… of both the Bible and our Constitution.

Chained CPI, which Democrats consider a “poison pill,”would change the way Social Security benefits are adjusted for inflation, effectively meaning Social Security recipients would receive less money over the years.
The Democratic source’s understanding is that the president offered this in talks with House Speaker John Boehner, but Democrats say that was in the context of a larger deal — in exchange for changes to the way the debt ceiling is approached, which is not in the plan anymore.

The source also told CNN that Democrats are currently “going outside their comfort zone” in these talks with regard to tax rates — keeping tax rates in place for higher income households than the president wants. The source also said Democrats are negotiating with Republicans on extending the current lower estate tax rate, a big issue for many Republicans as well as moderate Democrats.
A Senate Republican leadership source responded by pointing to the president’s comments in an interview that aired Sunday suggesting he is willing to look at chained CPI “in pursuit of strengthening Social Security for the long term.”

Kerry was presented the award in 1983, when he was Lt. Governor of Massachusetts. Kerry’s and others’ records of activism were also lauded by the military commander of North Vietnamese forces, General Vo Nguyen Giap, in his 1985 memoir of the war.
