Unemployment claims June 21, 2012, Initial claims 387000, Decrease 2000?, Moving average increases 3500, NC increases 3148, 13 states increase over 1000

“The United States economy has lost more jobs than it has added since the recovery began over a year ago.”…NY Times Sept. 20, 2010.

“Guilford (Large NC County) appears on it’s way to a third consecutive year with annual jobless rates in double digits. Economists say that likely hasn’t happened since the Great Depression.”…Greensboro News Record December 2, 2011

“the Times of the nineteenth of December had published the official forecasts of the output of various classes of consumption goods in the fourth quarter of 1983, which was also the sixth quarter of the Ninth Three-Year Plan. Today’s issue contained a statement of the actual output, from which it appeared that the forecasts were in every instance grossly wrong. Winston’s job was to rectify the original figures by making them agree with the later ones.”…George Orwell, “1984″

The Unemployment claims data for June 21, 2012 is just in. Initial claims are 387,000 with a decrease of 2,000 claims. The moving average  increased 3,500.   However, the big story is the number of states and the amount of increases in claims. NC is one of them.

From the US Labor Department June 21, 2012.

“In the week ending June 16, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 387,000, a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 389,000. The 4-week moving average was 386,250, an increase of 3,500 from the previous week’s revised average of 382,750.”

  1. Good Morning all,

Did you read/hear Mitt’s claims pertaining to vetting Rubio as a possibility for V.P.? Like you, I’m no Mitt Romney fan based on his belief and past government governing record, but I have decided to vote for him only if he chooses a NBC as his V.P.

This is Mitt’s chance to lose it. Not trying to be conspiratorial about his possible selection of Rubio, but I cannot help wonder if this whole ordeal is to place the rabbit in the trap. What I mean by that, is we full well know the Republican Party were aware of Obama NBC status, now if the Republicans do the same thing, the declaration becomes we the people are nutjobs by both parties and the media.

Again, my advice to Mitt’s selection is be very careful, least we the people will make sure that wabbit foot is cut off in the trap and have a keepsake for lesson learned on what not to do. We are serious……

  2. Ron Paul’s Route To Convention Chaos: The Vice Presidential Nomination
WASHINGTON — This may be the Ron Paul gambit we’ve been waiting for.

An obscure rule change made four years ago by the Republican Party has opened the door for Paul forces to cause a major headache for Mitt Romney when he tries to nominate his choice for vice president at the party convention in August.

  3. A Ron Paul Vice Presidency would mean more than just an empty suit

If I could vote at the RNC for Ron Paul to be president and if he doesn’t get it, then vice president, I would and here’s why:

  5. This is funny, Obama joke of the day sent to me by a friend. A retired Air Force Officer.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 70 year old , who’s hand was caught in the gate , the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually, the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president.

Jack said, “Well, ya know, Obama is a POST TURTLE ”.

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, what a ‘post turtle’ was.

Jack said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle’.

Jack saw the puzzled look on the doctor’s face so he continued to explain.

“You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he’s up there, he’s elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dummy put him up there to begin with.”

  6. Seaque,

To your soon-to-be disappointment, Ron Paul will not go against the grain at the GOP convention. Ron Paul was given a guest speaker position at the GOP convention for not running as a third party candidate. Something well know by Ron Paul many many months ago. For this privilege, RP will not step in bashing Mitt. Trust me….

    Sadly, it’s no joke.

  9. I agree, Mitt should be careful in his pick of VP nominee. I would not vote for him if Ron Paul is his pick. I would stay at home. I might stay at home if Portman or Pawlenty is his choice too. I would not vote for him if Paul Ryan is his choice. I just can’t get excited about these very boring candidates. That is my issue. The only person I like in this whole situation is Ann Romney.

  10. Nancy “have another martini” Pelosi is saying that the GOP is trying to suppress the votes in the upcoming elelction by holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt…She said yesterday that she could have had Carl Rove arrested…She is not a good spokes person for their cause, she comes accross bitter, angry and a little hung over…she can’t handle the heat, she’s starting to melt.

  11. Tina,

I agree there are not many exciting candidates for the GOP V.P. In fact, Mitt Romney does not have an enthusiastic historical background of governing. But, this was the lame Karl Rove GOP selection, a 1-step better at governing than Obama choice. If he chooses an non-qualified V.P., Mitt will lose and 4 more years of Obama. That simple…..

  12. Obama spokesperson Carney is calling Eric Holders contempt charges, ” a government funded fishing expedition”…Why do you suppose he waited 18 months to chime in with an opinion?

  13. Bessie,

As usual, Nancy is lying through her teeth. Nancy was only a single congressional member when Karl Rove was exposing Clinton. She alone had absolutely not single authority to arrest anyone. This is a farce with intent to pretend she authority when in fact she did not.

Secondly, what Nancy is trying to say, is that corruption investigations were forgiven and forgotten by the Democrats in house, pertaining to Clinton, when in fact, as history proves, the Democrats were covering up for their own Party.

One only needs to look into Pelosi voting history of congressional investigations to understand whom she wishes to investigate and call liers.

  17. Obama was born in Huwaii. Yes thats right. HUwaii. Not a spelling error on my part, but on the forgers part. That was the copy of his LFBC that Savanah Guthrie, the reporter hand picked by the White House, was allowed to touch and photograph at that April 2011 presser. It’s different from the one provided on line by the White House. So where exactly is Huwaii?

Obama Surrogate Calls to Make Voting Mandatory

…The irony, of course, is that the Democrats seem fine with forcing people to the polls, but object strenuously to people showing ID at the polls when they show up voluntarily. Forcing people to vote seems significantly more burdensome than asking them to show identification. But one measure prevents voter fraud, while one promotes liberal constituencies stuffing the ballot box. So that explains that.

  21. Does anyone know who Barack Obama really is?
Does anyone know who Barack Obama really is? I’m sure that someone somewhere does, but they’re not talking. American citizens know virtually nothing about Obama, except for his fictional persona with no credible evidence to back it up. I doubt very seriously that he produced enough credentials to land a job as his own bodyguard. And yet, Congress has let him get away with it. Such a supreme betrayal by those who constitute the only buffer between the American people and tyranny.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not traitor, he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. (Cicero, 42 BC).” So, before we proclaim Obama to be the enemy at the gate, let’s just see what we know about him.

    He’s black. (Maybe)
    He’s white. (Maybe)
He was born in Hawaii. (Maybe, but doubtful)
His father is Barack Obama, Sr. (Maybe, but doubtful)
His mother is Stanley A. Dunham. (Maybe, but doubtful)
He is a Constitutional lawyer (Doubtful)
He is a Socialist. (I believe it)
He favors Muslims over Christians. (Definitely)
He and his wife are racists. (I firmly believe that, too.)
He does not have America’s best interests at heart. (Definitely).

Marco Rubio calls on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign

    By Russ Vaughn

“For those who haven’t really followed the Fast and Furious scandal, here’s a five-step summary of how the operation was supposed to work:

    1. Allow guns to flow freely to criminal elements in Mexico, where they are naturally used in the extremely violent and deadly criminal activities of the drug cartels.

    2. When sufficient guns of American origin have been used in such criminal activities, enlist the willing services of the liberal media to announce the discovery thereof to the world.

    3. Enlist multiple prominent Democrats to untruthfully proclaim that 90% of the guns used in Mexican crimes originate in the U.S.

    4. Use steps one through three to substantiate the liberal fallacy that private gun ownership leads to increased gun violence by gun owners.

    5. With the compliance of a thoroughly duped American public, enact increasingly restrictive gun ownership policies through federal agencies, bypassing Congress and the Supreme Court.

When looked at this way, doesn’t Obama’s statement to a group of gun control advocates in March 2011 that he was taking steps to further gun control restrictions, but “under the radar,” now seem less cryptic than it did at the time? For those who still don’t believe Fast & Furious was an end-run on the 2nd Amendment by a liberal, gun-averse administration, here are five questions to consider:

    1. Could the possibility that this plan was concocted at the very top of the administration, putting it on par with Watergate, explain Eric Holder’s entrenched refusal to release the tens of thousands of documents being sought by congressional investigators?

    2. Is the liberal media’s refusal to investigate this scandal due to the fact that they suspect that the acts of this administration may rise to criminal and impeachable offenses?

    3. Has the reluctance of the Republican leadership to more aggressively support the House investigation been attributable to the same possibility — that full exposure could lead straight to the Oval Office and the politically unsavory possibility of impeachment of the nation’s first black president?

    4. Does anyone really think an ambitious politician like Holder would risk career-ending contempt of Congress charges to protect some incredibly stupid subordinates who supposedly, all by themselves, planned and implemented such a boondoggle?

    5. In an administration known for its quickness in throwing friends and associates under the bus in matters of self-preservation, is it not remarkable that rather than being so dispatched by Holder, many of the key players in F&F have been promoted despite denials by their bureau

“[…] But the true reason for wanting an unarmed public is because such a citizenry is powerless in the face of armed government and therefore compliant. Liberals and Democrats know full well that the key to unrestrained governing is to first disarm the citizenry.”

    “Holder-Napolitano Meet With Obama”

“The day before Holder was scheduled to appear before the House Judiciary Committee, U.S. White House logs show that Attorney General Eric Holder and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano met with Barack Obama in the East Room of the White House on May 2, 2011. Omitted from the log is the nature and purpose of the visit.

The timing of the meeting is quite suspect based on Holder’s planned testimony the following day, the mounting pressure from Congressman Issa’s committee, and Holder’s stonewalling Issa’s request for documents related to Fast & Furious.

Foreknowledge memorialized in a press conference – in 2009
Two years earlier: On March 24, 2009, a 30-minute news conference was held at the White House by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs that included Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, newly appointed Deputy Attorney General David Ogden, and Deputy Secretary of State Jim Steinberg.

About 13 minutes into the press conference, Ogden, a man already mired in controversy over his opposition to internet filters to block child pornography sites and opposition to requiring parental notification for girls seeking underage abortions, was introduced to discuss joint DOJ and ATF operations.

Ogden, who had been on the job for a mere 12 days, referred to Project Gunrunner and other ancillary ATF programs by name, and stated that he was working directly with the Attorney General on the implementation of these programs that included Project Gunrunner. For reference purposes, the entire news conference is memorialized here.

It should be noted that Ogden resigned his position in February, 2010, less than a year later after allegedly being at odds with Holder over undisclosed procedural issues.”

“Holder then offered the House Judiciary Committee, headed by Rep. Darrell Issa, a deal. Holder would provide all the documents the committee demanded for a pledge to close the investigation.

Issa, of course, reacted incredulously. What would be the point of an investigation if the results were predetermined by the target of the investigation? What investigator in his right mind would accept such a deal?

Then Obama stepped in and claimed executive privilege.

Now understand what this means. Obama cannot claim executive privilege for any member of his administration. He can only do so for himself and his inner circle of advisers, and should never do so unless it’s a matter of national security.

What Obama did, in apparent desperation, was to expose his own personal complicity in this scandal, making him, quite possibly, an accessory to murder.

Can you imagine how big this scandal is and how far it reaches for the administration to take such a gamble?

Even the once-friendly media are seeing through this charade.”

“Limbaugh explained Obama and his officials were actually creating crimes.

“There’s no other way to characterize this,” Limbaugh said. “They created, they manufactured crime. They enabled crimes. They saw to it that American guns ended up in Mexican drug cartel hands. And, of course, those people get the guns, they use them. When, in fact, it probably was difficult for the drug cartels to get the guns. It probably was not easy for the drug cartels to get the guns. Certainly not walking into gun stores in Phoenix and elsewhere, then crossing the border.”

  26. Since Soetoro (has invoked the so called EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE) regarding F&F it is NOW that Congress should MOVE TO IMPEACH. In addition his action tells the story……he is involved with F&F, and is therefore an accessory to MURDER. If Congress fails to go forward with IMPEACHMENT then Congress is also involved. You do not need to be a Phd. to see through this bullshi#.

  27. and now……….another LIBERAL has ABANDONED SHIP……..Artur Davis of Alabama has switched his political faith, and at the same time exposed his REASONS for doing so. He was on CSPAN this afternoon, and discussed some of his new convictions. He verbally confirmed what I have been saying for some time now………the LIBERAL LEFT is TWISTED…..UP IS DOWN! Then MMMSSS.IMPORTANT says that Soetoro should continue with what he is doing. She also says that Republicans are trying to suppress votes. Here is about the MOST DERANGED person I have ever heard. She should be incarcerated in a LOONEY TANK.

  28. The crime the White House is afraid will be disclosed is, the WH attempt to overthrow the second amendment to the Constitution.

That was their reason for letting the guns walk, so they could blame the second amendment.

Hillary made a speech about US guns crossing the border and blaming US gun laws for the problem. I tried to find it on you tube but haven’t yet. I’ll bet she was involved.

  29. Bob Strauss, I remember Hillary making that speech!

  31. “The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

So, who is Barack Obama? Are he and Congress just a bunch of empty suits? I don’t think so. As far as American ideals and intellect are concerned, they are. But, what their suits are filled with makes them dangerous . . . extremely dangerous. Wait and see.

  32. Bob Strauss…………………..
The involvement of Hillary Clinton in F&F would not surprise me…..at all! She is a FIRST CLASS………SNEAK! Never lose sight of a SNEAK!

  34. NAPOLITANO: Can Obama rewrite federal law?
President has usurped Congress’ role by altering immigration rules

Here we go again. Is the Constitution merely a guideline to be consulted by those it purports to regulate, or is it really the supreme law of the land? If it is just a guideline, then it is meaningless, as it only will be followed by those in government when it is not an obstacle to their purposes. If it is the supreme law of the land, what do we do when one branch of government seizes power from another and the branch that had its power stolen does nothing about it?
