Rod Blagojevich has been sentenced to 14 years.
Today we also learn that Tony Rezko, long time associate of Barack Obama and corruption crony, has filed a notice of appeal in his sentence of 10 and a half years for his June 2008 conviction.

“Attorneys for Rod Blagojevich’s former top fundraiser announced plans Tuesday to appeal his corruption-related convictions and 10 ½-year prison term, viewed by some as a baseline for the former Illinois governor in his sentencing later today.
Antoin “Tony” Rezko was sentenced last month for his 2008 convictions for fraud, money laundering and plotting to squeeze more than $7 million from companies seeking to do state business during Blagojevich’s tenure. A federal judge derided him for his “selfish and corrupt actions” in giving him 10 1/2 years, minus time served.
Rezko’s attorneys filed a notice of appeal Tuesday, but had not yet made a formal appeal to the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
A different judge, James Zagel, will decide Wednesday on a sentence for Blagojevich, convicted of trying to sell or trade a U.S. Senate seat and shaking down officials for campaign contributions.”
“Rezko, 56, was a former Chicago real estate developer and fast-food entrepreneur who was well-known in Illinois politics. During Rezko’s trial, prosecutors said he raised over $1 million for Blagojevich and got so much clout in return he could control two powerful state boards. They accused him of plotting to squeeze payoffs from money management firms that sought to invest the assets of the $40 billion state Teachers Retirement System and said he plotted to get a $1.5 million bribe from a contractor who sought state approval to build a hospital.
Observers say Rezko’s sentence increases the odds Blagojevich’s term will be longer.
“Prosecutors are going to say, ‘Hey, Blagojevich was the grandmaster of all this – so he should certainly get even more time than Rezko,’” said Phil Turner, a former federal prosecutor in Chicago.
Rezko raised money for Barack Obama during his campaigns for Illinois senator, but not his presidential campaign. Obama has not been accused of wrongdoing in the case.”

I just read on Drudge Report where the Fort Hood shooter who killed 13 soldiers and wounded several dozen more in his rampage in 2009 has been classified. The White House and Department of Defense TODAY commented on that terrible incident.
Although the “Mad Major” shouting “Ala Ackbar, Ala Ackbar” while he was gunning down unarmed soldiers, the Department of Defense and the White House have classified this as nothing more than ‘WORKPLACE VIOLENCE”…not ISLAMIC EXTREMISM…..

“CHICAGO (AP) — Rod Blagojevich, the ousted Illinois governor whose three-year battle against criminal charges became a national spectacle, was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday, one of the stiffest penalties imposed for corruption in a state with a history of crooked politics.
Among his 18 convictions is the explosive charge that he tried to leverage his power to appoint someone to President Barack Obama’s vacated Senate seat in exchange for campaign cash or land a high-paying job.
Judge James Zagel gave Blagojevich some credit for taking responsibility for his actions – which the former governor did in an address to the court earlier in the day – but said that didn’t mitigate his crimes. Zagel also said Blagojevich did good things for people as governor, but was more concerned about using his powers for himself.
“When it is the governor who goes bad, the fabric of Illinois is torn and disfigured and not easily repaired,” Zagel said.
As the judge announced the sentence, which includes a $20,000 fine, Blagojevich hunched forward and his face appeared frozen. Minutes later, his wife, Patti Blagojevich, stood up and fell into her husband’s arms. He pulled back to brush tears off her cheek and then rubbed her shoulders.”

“Blagojevich, in a last plea for mercy, tried something he never had before: an apology. After years of insisting he was innocent, he told the judge he’d made “terrible mistakes” and acknowledged that he broke the law.
“I caused it all, I’m not blaming anybody,” Blagojevich said. “I was the governor and I should have known better and I am just so incredibly sorry.”
But Zagel gave him little leeway.
“Whatever good things you did for people as governor, and you did some, I am more concerned with the occasions when you wanted to use your powers … to do things that were only good for yourself,” Zagel said.
The judge said he did not believe Blagojevich’s contention, as his lawyers wrote in briefings, that his comments about the corruption schemes were simply “musings.” Zagel said the jury concluded and he agreed that Blagojevich was engaged in actual schemes, and the undeniable leader of those schemes.
“The governor was not marched along this criminal path by his staff,” Zagel said. “He marched them.”
FBI wiretap evidence proved decisive. In the most notorious recording, Blagojevich is heard crowing that his chance to name someone to Obama’s seat was “f—ing golden” and he wouldn’t let it go “for f—ing nothing.”
Blagojevich clearly dreaded the idea of prison time. Asked in an interview before his retrial about whether he dwelled on that prospect, he answered: “No. I don’t let myself go there.”

Tomorrow, J. Christian Adams, the Department of Justice whistleblower in the New Black Panther Party case, will release his new book, Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department (Regnery).

Obama seems not to be reviled by the Panthers in any of the video or photographs. And Obama’s own campaign website would post an endorsement by the New Black Panther Party in March 2008. As Adams writes in Injustice:
“Somehow, the fact that the future President of the United States shared a podium with leaders of the New Black Panthers, marched with them, and received a public, formal greeting from their party has vanished from the history of Obama’s campaign. Apart from [Juan] Williams’ single dispatch, no other media outlets ever reported it.
After NPR initially reported that the Panthers were present at the event with Obama, subsequent reports from Selma omitted any mention of the hate group appearing with the future President.
Had any of Obama’s opponents appeared at an event with the KKK or Aryan Nation, The New York Times would have had to double its ink buy.
Obama’s appearance does much more than expose mainstream media hypocrisy. It also exposes an association between a vile racist organization and a future President of the United States. Only the degree of association is subject to debate.
And only a few voices outside the mainstream media have continued to press the Obama administration about its past and present ties to fringe groups.

In so doing, the Senate gives authority to the President to have the military arrest and detain U.S. citizens deemed to be enemy combatants (called “covered persons” in Sec. 1031 of S.1867) without charge or trial.
In so doing, the Senate also legalizes sodomy and bestiality in the U.S. military, by repealing the Uniform Code of Military Justice’s Art. 125 (see S1867′s Sec. 551(d)).

“On Thursday, December 1, while we were busily tearing at each other about what the language of Sections 1031-1032 of Senate bill 1867 (National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012) means — whether or not the authority given by the bill to the President to have the military arrest and detain without charge or trial is over not just “terrorists,” but U.S. citizens — the Senate breezily passed the bill on a 93:7 roll call vote.
Amendments that sought to insert language into the bill, limiting the President’s carte blanche authority over U.S. citizens were rejected.
Here’s the partisan breakdown:
Of the 93 senators who voted “Aye,” 48 are Democrats, 44 are Republicans, 1 is Independent.
Of the 7 senators who voted “Nay,” 3 are Democrats, 3 are Republicans, 1 is Independent”

Liberty Legal Foundation serves DNC with Obama eligibility complaint
………Arpaio said the investigation was progressing and stated, “I’ve got a gut feeling there’s a little cover-up … We’re not out to hang anybody. I’m just doing my job.”
Noting MCSO may be the only law enforcement agency in the country looking into the issue Arpaio said even the Republicans don’t like what he’s doing.
He asked, “Why wouldn’t they want to get to the bottom of this?”
While he’s doing the investigation at the behest of the people of Maricopa County, Arpaio said, “If it affects the whole nation, that’s not my fault. I think people deserve to know the real story. Maybe there’s nothing to it. But, I don’t know. It doesn’t look good.”
Although MCSO doesn’t have subpoena power in Hawaii, he mentioned the Nordyke twins, born the day after Obama at the same hospital, have birth certificates produced from microfilm and said he wants to see Obama’s birth certificate on the same microfilm.
He said, “I think we’re going to have enough to show there’s something to it.”
Arpaio said, “I’m not doing this for politics,” and joked, “I can get elected with pink underwear. I’m doing it because it’s the right thing to do.”
Questioning why Congress wasn’t looking into the issue, he asked, “Who are you going to bring in, the FBI, the justice department? (met with laughter) I just want to get to the bottom of this to get the truth out.”
He stated what the posse was doing was interesting and said, “My guys are pretty good. Forget the birth certificate. We’re looking at other things. We’re going to do something – I promise you,” adding, their investigation “will not disappoint.”

This alert came on the heels of briefings on Fast and Furious which were sent to Holder at least as early July 2010. Yet although Fast and Furious was the topic of such correspondence and the focus of such briefings, in February 2011 Breuer told Congress he knew nothing about the gun walking tactics which had been used in the operation. His contention was that he only learned of the tactics once Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry had been killed in December 2010.

Senator Charles Grassley, for one, has had enough, and just today officially called for Breuer’s resignation from the Senate floor.
Said Grassley:
The Justice Department had publicly denied to Congress that ATF would ever walk guns. Yet the head of the Criminal Division, [Lanny] Breuer knew otherwise and said nothing.
It is past time for accountability at the senior levels of the Justice Department. That accountability needs to start with…Mr. Breuer.
I believe it is time for him to go.
While I view Senator Grassley as a strong ally in the pursuit of justice for the crimes associated with Fast and Furious, and I am grateful for his stand here, I urge him to go further and take whatever steps are necessary to have Breuer handcuffed and frog-marched out of DC immediately.
Breuer lied to Congress, and in so doing, he undermined one aspect of the very system of justice he swore to uphold.”
