Herman Cain receptionist disputes allegations, Eva Vachal, Godfather’s Pizza, Never once, she says, did a woman raise an eyebrow about Cain’s conduct

“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed
–if all records told the same tale–then the lie passed into
history and became truth. “Who controls the past,” ran the
Party slogan, “controls the future: who controls the present
controls the past.”…George Orwell, “1984″

From the National Review November 22, 2011.

“Cain and Women
A former receptionist comes forward to dispute the allegations.”

“In 1983, Eva Vachal, then 24 years old, was hired by Godfather’s Pizza. She began in the information-technology department. By 1986, when Herman Cain became president of the company, she was the corporate receptionist.

For the next decade — Cain’s entire tenure at the Omaha-based firm — she continued in that position, answering phones and assisting executives with various projects.

Vachal worked closely with Cain. They became friends. When he was profiled by Ebony magazine in April 1988, she was featured in the spread, chatting with Cain from her desk.

She was close with other young women in the office, especially the assistants to Cain and the rest of the Godfather’s brass. They frequently huddled over lunch and coffee, discussing, among other things, their bosses, including the company’s gregarious chief executive.

And never once, she says, did a woman raise an eyebrow about Cain’s conduct. In fact, in an interview with National Review Online, Vachal says that during her entire career at Godfather’s Pizza, she never heard about any improper conduct, harassment, or inappropriate behavior by Cain, even in the form of water-cooler gossip. “Believe me, receptionists know everything,” she says. “They see everything.”

After watching Cain work closely with young women for years, Vachal says she was shocked to learn of the sexual-harassment claims made by former Cain associates at the National Restaurant Association, the organization Cain led after he left Godfather’s Pizza.

The allegations have rocked Cain’s presidential campaign. With numerous allegations hovering over the candidate, many political observers have wondered whether Cain is a viable contender.

Vachal says she is speaking out because she does not believe Cain’s accusers. She also wants to shed a little light on his personality, to help voters understand who he is. She notes that she has not been in communication with the campaign or with Cain.

As she sees it, Cain was likely misinterpreted by the women who received settlements. At Godfather’s Pizza, within the executive suite, he was always a professional, she says. But he did enjoy complimenting staffers, be it on their work or on their sharp outfits.”

““Nobody ever came to me and complained about him,” she says. “And trust me, they would have. We talked. There was nothing like what you see on Sex and the City, or those other shows. We were pretty boring in Omaha, Nebraska.”

“Women, especially then, had a lot to deal with in corporate America,” she says. “I knew of other things that went on, but there was never anything with him.”

“He was a true gentleman, always.””

“Why haven’t we heard this on the news?”

My response:

Because we have a biased, leftist media that follows the mantra “The end justifies the means.”

The same media that promoted and protected Barack Obama.

  1. Good Morning All, I was just wondering yesterday…What happened to Gloria and her client/cohort Sharon Bialek? Haven’t heard much from them lately…After seeing Gloria Allred on “Sunday Morning” show a couple of weeks ago, there was little doubt that Sharon is more of a professional extortionist than she is a lawyer. She fell short of admitting taking $10 million from Tiger Woods for ‘shutting up’ and it would appear she was doing the same to Herman Cain…Any media outlets that would show up at her beckon is not a journalist but an accessory to blackmail/extortion….They are slow learners but I think they have finally learned that she’s “playing” them…

  2. sorry, I meant to say that “Gloria” was more of an “extortionist/blackmailer” not Sharon…

  3. Michelle Bachmann’s treatment on the Jimmy Fallon show should’ve been more of a wake up call to how leftist the media is.

The media is simply the far left arm of the liberal Hollywood elite.

Zero’s their man and they’ll protect him by any means necessary.

    For everyone else,

Our minds SHUDDER at what threats have been hurled their way…

“It is apparent that our national media has made the legitimate issues surrounding the fraud that has been perpetrated upon this nation appear to be vastly toxic, but the level of dishonesty and hubris that is still being displayed by those who falsely tout themselves as caring anything about our Constitution is a daily offense to those of us who continue to shine the light of truth into the dark crevices of their deceptive ways. We still have a long, hard road ahead of us, but at the end of it, these corrupt political creatures should be relieved of any possible life in the public arena, and should never again garner even a grain of the public trust!”

  5. Anyone else read “Red Army” yet?,

GREAT chapter on how the media sucks up to The One and condemns his enemies…

  6. TruthSeeker; Can you even imagine if that was Michelle Obama instead of Michelle Bachman??? That show would have been taken off the air….I have not yet read “Red Army”, I’m going today to get a copy I know it’s great Brenda Elliot is a fantastic researcher…Aaron Klein is pretty terrific too.

    Still gagging here…

Because the establishment has written Cain off as damaged goods.
    He will be ignored.
The d rat media, helped by the Cain campaign stupidity are to blame for his fall. I fail to see why Conservatives thought Cain was a serious canididate anyway.
Because he’s a minority and says a few of the right things?
Look what happened to the D Rat party for falling into that trap.

  13. P.S. Bessie,

In “Red Army” go straight to Chapter Eight, “Red Media Army”,

    I’ll respond to your comment;

I predict that Cain will once again rise in the polls, so long as he stays on message. I listened to an interview just prior to him rising in the polls a few months back, and he stated he was gearing up for a slow rise to the top. His sudden surge was good to get his name out, but for you to totally write him off as “damaged goods”, I would suggest is a little premature.

What “campaign stupidity” are you referring too? Are you suggesting that because Cain stayed on the SAME story all along, that this was “stupid”?

He denied the allegations of misconduct all along.

I would suggest that Cain staying on his response of denial, has turned out to be TRUE, and you suggest it is “stupid”?

Or are you suggesting that the media’s treatment of his Libya answer was Cain’s “stupid” moment?

If it is, then I would comment that NO ONE would have known how to handle Libya’s situation, and the FACT is we should have kept our nose out of it, because now we are being set up as a FAILURE in that Country. You can NOT tell me that other Countries won’t see how we dealt with Libya, and Egypt as far as that goes, and say to themselves, the US left BOTH Countries in turmoil. Disrupted the LEGITIMATE Government’s of BOTH Countries and then walked away.

Maybe Paul’s stance of keeping our nose out of other Countries business, is the right position to take. At least then the World can NOT blame us when things go wrong, and the World can’t credit us when things go right. The World can praise or criticize the PEOPLE for doing what was/is right or wrong.

And the reason conservatives took Cain seriously, and I predict will do so again, is because he has a DIFFERENT plan to take on the problems of our Country.

I can’t predict whether his plan will work or not, but what I can state with CERTAINTY is that what we have now sure isn’t working, and it’s time to try another tactic to tackle our problems.

No it’s NOT because he is a minority, or that he “says a few of the right things”.

It’s because he has a PLAN Pat.

And if you are suggesting that the GOP is falling in to the same “trap” as the Democrats did with Obama, you have a whole lot of history to read up on.

Cain’s past is ALL out there. Cain isn’t out there, as far as I know, mesmerizing people in to chanting “yes we can” or “O-bam-a”, or with a “hope and change” slogan.

Cain seems pretty up front about how hard it is going to be to turn this Country around.

I just think you are a little early to write Cain off.

But I have to comment that RON PAUL is what this Country NEEDS right now, and IF Paul runs as a third party candidate, I will probably vote for him, unless the GOP nominates Cain.

There will be plenty more “ups and downs” to come for the candidates in the GOP race. It’s still 272 days until the convention, and that’s plenty of time for things to change.

Maybe if the media didn’t write Paul off as a “kooky old man”, HIS message would have a chance to get out there.

Maybe if the likes of Tina would get her head out of the sand, and quit listening to the media’s criticism of Paul’s “Foriegn policy” stance, and her completely misguided belief that Paul is anti-Israel, then maybe, just maybe they will realize that Paul wants to fix the problems in THIS Country before walking around with our noses stuck high in the air believing we can fix other Countries problems.

I believe it is an arrogant stance to take, believing that we have the “right” to lead the World, when our own Country is in such terrible shape.

I would suggest that we are more of a BANK to the World, and our solution to just about everything is to throw money at it. And if that doesn’t work, then we use our bombs.

I say to hell with the World. Let’s solve our own problems. Our total concentration should be to turn this Country around. I honestly could care less about other places in the World, let THEM deal with their own problems. We have multi task issues HERE that needs addressed, and we need to use ALL of the resources at our disposal to solve these issues.

Until that happens we are doomed to continue the complete and utter failure that has been our Country for the last 5 decades.

  15. Hi Interested Bystander,
I agree with you on your comments to Pat about Herman Cain. We are going to see a lot of ebb and tide along the way throughout the primary season, imho.

As we have already discussed, IB, you favor Paul, and I and some others don’t. We agree to disagree on him. There is something that I would like to raise about Paul, and it has nothing to do with regard to his policies.

Paul has been in Congress for about thirty years. I have gotten numerous letters from him at different times on various subjects over the years, many of which I agreed with. One of my big problems with Paul is coined in a word: LEADERSHIP.

He has some good thoughts (some not so), but I don’t see him as having much leadership ability. He hasn’t demonstrated it during his long tenure in Congress. He can’t seem to often effectively garner fellow congressmen to co-sponsor bills of his choosing. His presence in the debates and in interviews demonstrate his seeming inability to “take the bull by the horns”, so to speak. Even his manner of speaking betrays that – swinging the head back and forth, hand gestures, lack of poise, etc., but most of all, what he says and how he says it.

His support is from a hard-core group of followers who will do anything to see him elected, but I doubt very much that he could be an effective president, based upon his prior performance. Thirty years in Congress is a long time, and it seems that he should have more to show for it than he does. Just my observations. To tell you the truth, I think he is foolish (maybe the word is “gutsy”) to even think he could win a general election.

The R candidate will be decided by Feb.

    Cain is done

Paul is still a long shot, and will probably go 3rd party.

It is my opinion that Paul HAS tried to pass legislation that would be benificial to the Country, but that others will NOT support it because it would be used against them in re-election.

He has for years tried to get legislation passed to audit the Fed, just as ONE example.

He has also tried to pass legislation to STOP all earmark bills.

One thing that gets me about the reports from meida is that Paul continually puts pork projects in to legislation up for a vote.

What the media doesn’t report on is that Paul votes NO on all of those bills.

Not sure how able Paul would be to “lead”, but what I do know for sure is that his MESSAGE sure does resonate with me.

  19. Interested Bystander

Although what you state is probably true, it is sad to me to think that “we” will allow the media pundits to pick the GOP candidate.

I will NEVER, EVER vote for Romney.

As I have stated before, it is my opinion that allowing Obama another four years is better than voting in another “establishment hack” who will simply slow the car down, and allow us to continue down the road of destruction we have been on for the last 5 decades.

It is my belief that it is time for a “U” turn, and Romney, Perry or Newt will simply slow the car down.

It’s time for “RADICAL” change. And by “radical” I mean reasonable reform that will get this Country BACK to the vision of our Founders.

My vision of “reasonable” is different than yours of course.

    Hey All,

Although this is off topic, I thought maybe you’d be interested in reading this memo from 1969 to Planned Parenthood:

    Click to access jaffememo.pdf

It’s only one page. Read it and see what ideas have been instituted in the last 4 decades since this memo was written.

Kind of scarey, in a disgusting sort of way.

  21. Interested Bystander

This is a memo supplied to the Population Council FROM Planned Parenthood.

  22. IB, that IS scary, but those World Population Control people have been working for a long time. Shamefully, in 1973 with the Roe v. Wade decision they achieved a big step toward their goals, and according to their memo they are well on their way towards the fulfillment of other steps.

  23. Cain is going to have a very hard time overcoming the caricatures that the media made of him with the general population. The press went after him hard and I believe that he got flustered and off message. If he is going to change the perception, he needs to go on every single high visibility news program out there between now and the first primary. He has a good message that got drowned out. I mostly blame his handlers.

  24. I just can’t get behind today’s rally on wall street….Europe is just delaying the inevitable….the crisis in the euro will certainly be a downer on our markets. This false notion that markets are skyrocketing today because of holiday retail sales, just doesn’t convince me that anything is good in this economy…at least in the long term. Someone or something is setting us up for a big fall. (IMHO)

Also, can someone with an economic mind explain to me why…..if Bernanke bailed banks out to the tune of 7.7 trillion dollars to cover their debt. (i.e. subprime loans, credit default swaps etc.) why didn’t that at least partially erase all the bad mortgages in this country. That was my understanding of this. So if the banks recovered their losses, then why aren’t they willing to renegotiate principal reduction plans on those mortgages that are either under water or in default. They appear to be unwilling to do so…they would rather foreclose and open that property up to vandalism, neglect., etc. I understand the point of the neighboring properties that have been duly paid off or in the process of being paid off by legitimate mortgagees…but in the long run, something has to be done to stop all these other homes being abandoned. Surrounding “good faith” properties are being devalued anyway. Perhaps working with principal reduction type solutions would at least keep most borrowers in their homes thus reducing the collapse of the entire neighborhood.

If the banks were bailed out and if these borrowers do pay off their mortgages, then aren’t the banks being paid twice for one mortgage. I simply don’t understand this….can someone please enlighten me please?

  25. Interested Bystander

    Honor First,

Although in hind site I do NOT understand why these banks were paid off.

I commented when the TARP “crisis” came about that one side of me said to let the banks fail, but another side of me said that the Government would do something.

I don’t understand why the money wasn’t given to the mortgage borrower, with the money being used to pay off the mortgage. Then the mortgage loan holder would have a free and clear mortgage, and the financial institution would have the “toxic asset” off of their books.

But that’s not how it worked. The Fed simply gave money to banks HOPING they would use it for “good”. The banks used this money to prop up their foreign branches and left the “toxic assests” on their books.

We are in for a very bad collapse.

“The Jewish group controlling Barack Obama had several Jews working in different roles. The finances were backed by George Soros, a Hungarian born Jew, who has been living in the United States for many years and is known by national governments as a “terror” to national currencies. If you do a research on this multi-billionaire, you will find that a number of nations had their economy crashed, due to his currency speculation. Two nations that have suffered greatly by this man were England and Sweden.

“The Bible tells us that in the end times before Jesus comes back; there will be a world leader sent by Satan, who will take control of the entire earth. His control will not only come from a strong military force but also by having total control of the global economy so that no one can buy or sell without being registered with his system. (Revelation chapter 13:1-18)

The Bible calls this the Mark of the Beast. The Bible also tells us that this Antichrist, also known as the Son of Perdition, will be of Jewish descent and a homosexual. (Daniel 11:36-39)

We also know that this world dictator will be tied to the nation of Israel and that he will rule from the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5)”

“To my knowledge there are no strong born again Christians on the Obama team. Instead they are all supporters of abortion and homosexuality. They don’t speak on morality or the fact that the United States was founded on Christian principles.

Our nation is now in the hands of men and women who have no regard for the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; they despise the Son of God and scoff at the mention of the Holy Spirit. They deny that there is a literal Hell, the Bible is the Word of God, and that only through Jesus Christ is there salvation for a human being.

America is now in the hands of the servants of the Antichrist! If there ever has been a time, now is the time to pray, fast and seek God.”

“God is in control of all things and He has allowed the current leadership to be elected. This is a judgment allowing the wicked to be put in power when God’s people have sinned and refused to repent.
If you look upon the people of America and the rest of the Western world, there is no doubt that after 1945 we have had the greatest time of prosperity that any generation on this earth has ever seen or experienced.

How did we use our blessings? We spent them on more and more luxuries and most people wasted their lives.

God does not look kindly when a nation spends billions on pet food but a pitiful sum for mission work.

Our women have spent billions of dollars on clothing, cosmetics, nail sets, etc. while the men spent billions of dollars on sports, fancy cars, gambling, prostitutes, pornography, alcohol and drugs.

God is humbling people in America and in Western Europe but the tragedy is that the unsaved people don’t know this because most pastors won’t speak the truth. Only the people who are born again in Christ can understand this if their pastors preach the truth.

One thing is for sure; our standard of living is going down and will stay down until God says differently. We have now come to the place that we need to be thankful if we have a job, a place to live and food to eat. God has told us what to do and we would do well to heed this Word from the Lord!

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:12-15)

What are you going to do?”
