Tony Rezko, a longtime associate and friend of Barack Obama, who was convicted in June 0f 2008 and never called as a witness, was sentenced today in the courtroom of Judge Amy J. St. Eve. Rezko was sentenced to 126 months.

  16. Hard to believe that Rezko is finally going to rent the farm. It all sure smacks of another person who spent some time in jail……………before they DONE HIM IN………his name was Jim McDougal. One of the stories is that one dark night about midnight a helicopter, painted black landed on the prison grounds, and a couple of people were admitted to the jail. They alleged told the head honcho that McDougal needed his injection for his heart condition. (But alas… truth McDougal has never had any sort of heart condition requiring any sort of injections.) Need I say any more?

  30. 48 year ago today an event happened which changed America’s direction forever in the world….That day, they took our president down.

    This is the day that Kennedy killed in Dallas….at 12:15pm. Less than 2 hours later, Lying Lyndon Johnson took the oath of office on Air Force One with Jackie standing beside him still in her blood-stained pink dress.

    Today, I purposely searched several major newspapers across America, and all the main steam media for any coverage of this dastardly event. Surely all the media would be on this today. I looked, and looked, and looked for just a mere mention of this historic happening…..not a word have I seen.

    That set me too thinking. If Americans can so quickly forget a president who was murdered, and their memory dims in a short 48 year….It just goes to show how quickly our footprints are erased in the sands of time.

    I wonder if John had any visitors today at Arlington.

The meeting was down right civil because of the attendance of public servants and citizenry. I believe that was the Speaker of the House who stated their would be an investigation into the conduct of the Representatives present. He told them to disassociate themselves from Dr. Taitz. Of course that didn’t sit to well with the Representatives and so the fur is flying still amongst the State officials. Right now its all wait and see. The ball is now with the Secratary of State, Gardner. He just may sit on it and delay. Public pressure and representatives of the House should force the issue with the current facts presented. Education 101. Most likely, Gardner can only delay for so long regarding the request for the rehearing.

    First of all, I had to look up the word “carmudgeon”, so thanks for expanding my vocabulary.

    Second (am I commenting like Cain sounds……..firstly……..secondly……….thirdly……..), I have commented before, and I continue to believe that Paul’s “delivery” has something to be desired, however, I believe his message is what we need to hear.

    Third, although I didn’t get to see the debate last night, I can assume by your comment that Paul’s message was one of SELF SUSTAINMENT and not “isolationism” as so many want to believe it is, simply because that’s the way the MEDIA portrays his message.

    Let me expand for a few:

    Last time I checked, we have military personnel deployed in over 150 Countries. Take a second and let that sink in 150 COUNTRIES.

    Let me ask this;

    what “GOOD” has this done us?

    I submit it has done us NO “good”.

    Did NO ONE listen to Bloomberg this week? The man who was arrested for planning to bomb police cars and such was motivated by our PRESENCE in other Countries. (didn’t Paul say EXACTLY the same thing at one of the debates, and wasn’t he BOOOOED for making that statement?)

    Don’t you people get it? We can’t even solve our OWN problems, let alone every problem that exists in the World, as our ARROGANT leaders think we can.

    Let me give you ONE example. How many years have we been trying to get Israel and the Palestinians to find “peace”? Decade after decade, almost 100 years now, and the bottom line is we have done NOTHING to bring peace to the parties involved. In my opinion, we have simply given BOTH parties reason to continue their hatred for each other. We throw money at BOTH sides believing that if we pay BOTH sides, we can buy peace. In reality, we are NOWHERE near finding peace for either the Israelis or the Palestinians.

    And “everyone’s” solution is to keep doing what we are doing. It’s pathetic, in my humble opinion. I say, let them settle their OWN differences. We have problems here that we need to be focused on, which to me are MUCH more important than ANYONE else’s problems.

    The United States in the last CENTURY has had the arrogant view that we know what is best for everyone else, when we can’t even solve our own issues.

    I would suggest that the way you LEAD, is to set the example. What incentive does the World have to form a REPUBLIC form of Government, when we can’t even live by the PRINCIPLES of a REPUBLIC form of Government?

    The answer is simple, there is NO incentive.

    Paul wants to get us back to the PRINCIPLES of what our Founders envisioned for our Country when the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written.

    In my opinion, those PRINCIPLES served us well for about 140 years, and then all hell broke loose with our Government believing that it knows what is best for our citizens, and then with our Government believing it knows what is best for the World.

    We need to take a step back, and fix what we broke when we got away from those principles.

    We shouldn’t have to depend on ANY other Country for our sustainment. We should produce every product consumed in this Country. We should provide ALL energy sources needed to sustain our Country. We should generate all revenues spent in this Country.

    But we don’t, we depend on China for the majority of goods, the Middle East for our oil, and numerous Countries for our spending habits.

    I would suggest we need to find out WHY we are dependent, fix the problem, and watch our Country thrive once again.

    Paul’s message of SELF SUSTAINMENT is spot on in my opinion.

    For example, you claim that smoking is wrong.

    I take this to mean you do NOT want smokers around you.

    My solution to this is for YOU not to go where smokers are.

    Your solution is to ban smoking in every place YOU want to go, including public places and private businesses.

    Don’t you see the difference?

    Your solution takes people’s LIBERTIES away by law.

    Another point you make is that people ought to live by the Bible.

    Look Tina, no offense intended, but IF we lived by the TRUE meaning of the Bible, YOU, being a woman, should be obedient to the male.

    You seem to be on a real roll today – More power to you, but, as you probably surmise, I don’t agree with you about Paul. I am too busy today to formulate a proper response to some of the issues you raise about him, but he doesn’t impress me as being really true to the beliefs of our Founding Fathers. He has some good ideas about fiscal policy but when it comes to foreign affairs, he is well…….naive.

    Yes, our military is spread too far and wide, and we have been unwisely engaged in certain conflicts, but the world is vastly different from Paul’s world viewpoint. His attitude is that our enemies are against us because of what we have done. Tell that to the boys who fought in WWII. Hitler was a despot who intended to rule the world. There ARE people who are pure EVIL.

    People like Neville Chamberlain of Great Britain thought that he could appease Hitler and thereby convince him of the error of his conquering ways. IT DID NOT WORK. Appeasement never works. Paul feels that we need to be nice to Ahmadinejad, so that he won’t be nasty and use a nuclear bomb.

    Our president needs a great deal of wisdom on how to effectively deal with Iran, but the soft touch will not work. Reagan’s policy of “peace through strength” is what helped to topple the Iron Curtain. A Ron Paul doesn’t have what it takes to stand up to our enemies.

    Shows it won’t hurt you to do some studying, IB. I agree with some of the things that you have said, but where you are incorrect is this, while it is true that husband are the head now and the wife under him, it means that they are a team. Think of it as a company. The husband is the CEO; the wife, his president. She runs the company (family) while he’s away at work and they confer with each other to make decisions. It’s only that way for now, though, as women will be equal with men in the kingdom of Yahweh.

    Next, it’s incorrect to state that women do not work outside the home. Study Prov. 31.

    But I tend to agree with you about the smoking stuff. While I don’t smoke now, I used to. It’s a shame that people are made to appear like they are evil because they smoke.     When you say it’s not OK to smoke and want to ban it everywhere. You are so very wrong. I am 76 years old. I smoked for most of my adult life, then quit on my own 23 years ago. No one forced me. Today, I have no problem of someone smoking in my presence in a public place, if they like, I do not permit anyone to smoke in my home, but that’s my right.

    You also said you would ban porn and dirty movies. I say, if someone wants to watch that in the privacy of their homes, who am I to object…and who are you to object?

    When we start messing with individual liberties in America, even the disgusting ones you think should be ban (like smoking and porn movies)….we are messing with basic freedoms that each of us are entitled too under our Constitution…..

    If we all adopted your attitude and approach to likes and dislikes, then we could also start banning fat people, thin people, Jews, blacks, Chinese, people who don’t like turnip greens….etc….get the point?

  78. The other thing with Ron Paul is he keeps making excuses for terrorists. He said terrorism is a tactic and we are not at war with anyone. But he needs to wake up because radical Islamists are at war with us. That is because of our lifestyle and freedoms. It has nothing to do with Israel, etc. If Israel went away, Islamists would still want Spain, Kashmir and the rest of the world, and Ron Paul doesn’t seem to care.

    But when your mission starts to step on people’s personal freedoms and liberties, therein lies the problem

    I put 27 years in the military, all in combat divisions protecting the rights of ALL Americans. Three years of that was spent in the jungles of South East Asia in a place called Vietnam. I wasn’t there because I wanted to be. I was there because my country said that communism was a threat to our way of life.

    Each time I came back home to America from Vietnam after a year long tour of slogging through the rice paddies, and fighting off the leaches in the jungle, I was approached by people who didn’t LIKE where I had been and what my mission had been. I’m sure if they could have had their way, they would have BAN me from going back to Vietnam.

    It was their right to object. But, I didn’t demand our government BAN the “flower children” who felt they had a right to protest. I personally didn’t LIKE being met at the airport by a bunch of long-haired hippies who cared little for their country.

    But that was their right. I respected it.

    Finally let me say, I too am a Christian and have been for a long time. But I do not go around knocking on peoples doors trying to sale my religious views. But if you wish to do that, then who am I to object. I try to live my faith on a daily basis.

    p.s. I too am not a libertarian. I am a “right-wing conservative”.

    rminc – I,too, smoked. About 3 packs per day of Winstons. I quit cold turkey on my 40th birthday and never looked back. For years I would dream I was smoking and wake up in a sweat that I had broken down.     As for putting my views on others. I think everyone who knows me, knows exactly were I am coming from, but I am not overbearing and demanding that ALL accept my way…or the highway.

    You are right when you say others have intruded on our society to the point of wrecking it. To that, I agree. But the solution isn’t to ban everything we disagree with. Take it too the ballot box for resolution.

    If we don’t like a politician…vote him/ or her out. If there is a law we don’t like, complain to our political leaders and change it. If enough people complain, then it will be changed, maybe.

  84. Bill…my story is similar to yours about smoking but I never got the DT’s from stopping.

    It was somewhere around 1998/1999 and it was the “Great Smoke-out Day” across America. My secretary was preaching to me on the virtues of quitting smoking and telling me to “put those nasty things out” they would put me in an early grave.

    Each time she would comment with her expert opinion about smoking, I would light up another one. At times, I would have three going at the same time.

    The next day, I put them down and never touched them again. The point is, I didn’t need my secretary’s medical advice on the dangers of smoking. When I put them down, I never wanted one from that point on.Of course, my secretary bragged to all her friend that she was instrumental in making me quit!

    I would just smile and say, “not in your lifetime, but if you want to tell everyone that…go right ahead”.

    You can’t save America by interfering in personal choice and freedom. The two are mutually inclusive, America stands for personal choice, prosperity, and personal freedom. I hate to quote, but so many have forgotten the past so….

    When I was just a small child, many years ago, in a public school, a WWII veteran, and survivor from the deck of the “USS Enterprise” Kamakazi attack at Okinawa explained this to a 3rd grade class. He said that this meant ‘You have rights, but those rights are limited when they violate the rights of another individual. More simply put, your rights end were my rights, as another citizen, begin’. Perhaps this is the ultimate political interpretation of the golden rule “Do onto others as you would have done onto you”.

    You may hate smoking, you may hate occupy ‘place site here’, you may not like unions, or many other entities. You may really want to help people and your country, and be upstanding. Be that as it may, you cannot save America by limiting other persons personal freedoms or liberties that do not interfere with your life.

    I have anticipated that you will say that these individuals are imposing upon you personally because you have to ‘pay’ or be ‘taxed’ for their misdeeds and bad choices. My answer to this is that with personal choice comes personal responsibilities, and without that reality, we will soon be a godless government that controls all people. That is socialism, and the road leads to some unbelievable human misery. So I leave you with this quote from famous Russian author “Without God, all things are possible”. They are not good things.

    I certainly agree with Rminnc, Pete and Mr. Bill about the personal liberty issue. Kudos for your successes in being able to stop smoking. My neighbor used to say, “Oh, it’s easy to quit smoking. I’ve done it a hundred times.” You have all probably heard that one.

    Tina, I have never smoked and don’t like to be around it, because it bothers me physically, but the answer to that is to avoid smokers if possible. There is just something about human nature that causes people to get stubborn and resistant if they feel that another person is trying to dictate their lifestyle. One can be much more winsome with honey than with vinegar.

  93. You can’t avoid all smokers. They are everywhere. Just when you think you are away from them, they light up next to you. I say stop the nasty habit anyway possible. But it is not just smoking. It is the whole liberal/libertarian way of life that is wrecking society. The porn, the dirty movies on TV, the whole gay marriage debate that you hear on TV daily, the filthy OWS movement, the filthy music rap videos, etc. They are wrecking society. That is the issue. You can’t get away from it. You have to work to change society for the better as the moral majority tried to during the Reagan years.

    On another note, I thought the debate last night was very interesting. Some conservatives like Erik Erickson are calling for another look at Jon Huntsman. I thought Huntsman had a strong debate last night and am willing to now vote for him if he wins the nomination. I am not saying he is my candidate, but I am willing to give him another look. He is obviously very well qualified and we need someone with experience. I continue to like Santorum, and while I like Newt, I am not thrilled with the stance he took on illegal immigration.

    As many verses that you can cite from the Bible, I can match you with what I commented above.

    NONE of your verses state a woman can work outside of the home. I would read them to mean that she would make “goods” out of stuff from the harvest of their assests. For example, if a farm produced wheat, the woman would make bread from it, keep what they needed, and sell the rest.

    But I digress:

    I REALLY do NOT believe that part of the Bible, that was my whole point.

    I’ve been fortunate enough to have been marride 29 years so far, and you will NOT tell me that my wife isn’t the BETTER HALF of our relationship. However, I would suggest that a relationship lasts longer when the woman allows the man to THINK he is in charge. As a man, we KNOW BETTER, but play along.

    WOMEN are much the superior human than men, at least in my opinion, they simply let the man BELIEVE that they are the head of the household.

    Just know that your service was NOT in vain, your heart was in the right place, and although you had no choice, probably, (not sure if you were drafted or not), your efforts were simply a chess game to the people in charge at the time.

    There is no higher person in my opinion, than a Viet Nam vet.

    You men and women should have a day set aside for YOU, not for the whole of the Country, but for YOU.

    If people would just go back and study what actually happened in Viet Nam, they would KNOW that our efforts were futile from the beginning, and NOT because we couldn’t do the job, but because the CONGRESS wouldn’t allow you to get the job done.

    Viet Nam should have been won in no more than five years, but we kept sending young men and women over there against their will in a bunch of cases, to play our political GAME.

    And the sad fact is that NOW we believe that is the way wars are fought.

    It really is disgusting to me.

    I would also submit that IF Paul runs as a third party candidate, that Obama has a VERY good chance of winning a second term.

    I would also submit to you that four more years of Obama may sway things even more to “our” side, and make it MORE likely that “we” could gain even more “attention” in another Obama term than “we” could if Romney or another establishment hack is victorious.

    I’m not hoping Obama wins, but I AM hoping that more people open their eyes, and see that the status quo, or status quo “lite” hasn’t worked out too well for us in the last 50 years or so.

    I disagree with this comment.

    WWII was the LAST “just” war.     We don’t fight wars like that any more. Just ask Rminnc.

    Could you even imagine the media coverage if the United States was even SUSPECTED of even thinking about using an atom bomb in today’s age?

    Did we have a choice? Absolutely not, unless you wanted to continue to fight that war for decades more.

    Our war tactics in today’s age are simply disgusting.

    We have ALLOWED those people to wreck our society.

    Look, if their wasn’t a “safety net”, we wouldn’t have the issues we have, at least in my opinion.

    Just one example:

    Teenage pregnancy and I’d even expand that to out of wedlock pregnancy:

    Once apon a time it was “taboo” for a teenage girl or an unmarried girl to have sex, let alone get pregnant. Legend has it that those girls were shipped off to have their child in Kansas or they had “back alley abortions” because doctors who had MORALS wouldn’t perform abortions.

    But the folks in power thought they could legislate their beliefs on the whole of the Country and told doctors that they HAD to perform abortions, and enough protested this that the Government decided that THEY would supply a place to go for abortions.

    And by golly, if you wanted to keep that child, no worries because good ole “Uncle Sam” would be there to help you get on your feet.

    It’s just that many decided they liked the “help” and never got on their feet. Not only that, but they also figured out that the more kids they had, the more “help to their feet” they got.

    And then those kids grew up, and seen how easy it was to stay on that “help to their feet” scheme.

    And then when the Government tried to stop that, these folks found out just how easy it is to be considered “handicapped”, and have rode those coat tails for the last couple decades.

    Don’t you get it, either way, dictating one way or the other, will NEVER solve the problem as long as you supply them with the means to sustain their lifestyle.

    They ARE wrecking our society, and that’s because the folks in charge ALLOW them too.

    I could make the same basic argument for any number of “issues” you want to dictate.

    That’s part of your problem. You’re doing stuff that Yahweh says NO! When you do think that you’ve been called to knock on people’s doors and tell them how to live? You’re bypassing everything that Yahweh teaches in the Scriptures. Never, never does he tell people to do something that goes against his way of giving people free will. I don’t know who the heck is teaching you to do this, but it’s against any scriptural at all. The words say over and over again, that “I will send out,” meaning Yahweh will send out prophets of HIS OWN CHOOSING. Those who are his prophets will only come in his sacred name, and they will only speak what he tells them to speak. And yes, that means the messiah Yahushua (aka Jesus) will.

    Again, you’re going totally against the scriptural teachings if you think you have to go out and tell others how to live their life. Let me tell you this, I have worked with a Jehovah’s Witness girl before, who was probably one of the nicest person’s in the whole world, but that’s one of the things that I hold against them, they have not been personally called to go door to door.

    Most of the whole thing, Tina, is we have to look to ourselves now, yes, that’s right. We have to look within ourselves and work out our own salvation. As a Christian, you should know this. Are you saying that you keep all the eternal commandments, all ten of them, you keep all of the high sabbaths, all of them, you are cleaned inside our innermost self? If so, then I want to personally meet with you. If you’ve done that, you’ve done more than anyone that I know who has been trying to clean out their innermost self for years.

    You consistantly comment about having this program or that, or having a “safety net”.

    Those things cost money you know, and you can only tax smokers, drinkers and the 1% at a 100% rate, and you will STILL be running a deficit.

    What is your answer to the FISCAL situation we find ourselves in?

Rick Santorum says every debate almost how he is for family, God and country. Rick Santorum wants zero taxes on firms that will manufacture and bring jobs back to America which I have endorsed. I don’t like Ron Paul and you do. While I would love for Ron Paul to eliminate five federal agencies, he is too wild on foreign policy to trust the presidency to. Bye for now.     I’ve been trying to think of something to say tomorrow that won’t bum everyone out, but I can’t think of a way to say what I want to say.
    Don’t try ahead of time to figure it out. Tomorrow you will have the good sense and wisdom to know what to say, if anything, and when to say it.

    Instead concentrate on being thankful for blessings and for the years you had with your dad. You are not being selfish when you miss him. Please know that. The pain of loss is heavy, but as Thistle has pointed out, it does diminish some over time.

    In seven and a half months I will round the 80 mark. Several of the CW bloggers are right behind me. For the most part I tend to think that the alleged GOLDEN years may be more hype than reality. My doctor now holds most of my “GOLD”.

  129. Happy Thanksgiving to all…..Yesterday I spend all day trying to remove some stupid virus on my pc….It is a phony malware scanner…if any of you should be infected with it….I found the cure. First I restored my pc to the day before, then ran a full scan and it found about 26 infected files. I searched and found this at microsoft.
    It scanned and removed all infections. Very easy.

    I was a smoker for over 44 years! I went “cold turkey” Started with a full pack five days later cut down five ciggerettes..until there were no more. It has been over five years and I am still smoke free! I can not stand the smell but as a past smoker when I smell the smoke I will wave my hand in front of my face and move on. And to all of the people that I offended I say that I am deeply sorry. If anyone who smokes and gives it their all to stop you will never regret it unless you wait to long and you end up with lung cancer!

    Now it is time to go work some of my calories off! 🙂

    Are you by chance typing in your email,and other ID in everytime you post a comment? If that is the case then the moderation might be the result of some incorrectly spaced letters or figures in either your email addy or your handle. Might be worth a check out. It doesn’t require much to cause the email addy to be wrong insofar as the moderation machine is concerned…….as I said something could be amiss in the info box. I had that happen for a time.

  137. New demands for Kagan recusal in SCOTUS hearing of the Obama care debacle. Senator Sessions is now demanding that she recuse herself. This was based upon the contents of two emails that were finally released. He is really upset because the content tells of her involvement in the IG thing. Big conflict of interest.

    I sign in once a week to wordpress, and when my puter does it’s weekly scan, it erases all of my passwords and I have to resubmit them.

    I believe Eric Holder is not only a disgrace to the position he holds, and the Country he is supposed to be defending, but he is also a CRIMINAL and should be tried for TREASON and hanged on Friday afternoon just as all of those who are supposed to be “Representing” us get off work, so that THEY can see the consequences IF they don’t do what they were elected to do.

    So much for that “transparent” pledge Obama made at his swearing in ceremony (well at least the FIRST ceremony).

    Obama ought to be tried FIRST, and then Holder, Pelosi, Reid, Panetta, Napolitano and as far as I’m concerned the whole lot of them.

    BOTH sides of the aisle are GUILTY of TREASON against this Country.

    The consequences of this CRIME should be swift and sure.

  141. There is a lot to this…….. Reszko is part of a major criminal system that involves too many to list here. He may be involved more in corruption but the peolpe he is connected to are involved in a host of other high level crimes.

    My second son was for a time working directly for Rezko in the early 2000’s. He called Rezko “his buddy” while we ate at Panda Express, his choice of where to eat. How he got that job was through my exbrother-in-law, Bruce Adreani who professionally is a property developer. But Bruce and his brother-in-law Clyde O’Connor also owned a Air Distribution business in Florida that was setup by Barak Obama in the early 2000’s while Barack was a lawyer working at a well known Shadow Government Lawy firm. Obama is understood to have been the company agent and may still be their agent to this day. This connection may explain why Obama owns so many suspcious properties as the drug system uses property for payment.

    It’s important to realize that the Adreani family has been laundering drug money since the late 70’s when they got started. It all started with the planned murder of a Bank President, another long story. Bruce’s interest with owning a distribution company started at my house when a family gathering took place and Clyde O’Connor visited. Most discussions about starting this business took place right in front of me. Later after my divorce started my younger son and I met for dinner. This is when he told me about his new relationship with Rezko. Sometime later just before Rezko was indicted, my son maybe through his waking up decided to leave. Rezko was introduced to my son by Bruce Adreani and being a property developer you should wonder why he drives a specially built bullet proof car.

    Clyde O’Connor and Bruce Adreani’s plane were distributing much more than drugs, they were shipping stolen children from the US, black market human body parts and nuclear materials and much more. Bruce and the Adreani family are considered “CIA Assets” according to Bruce never to be prosecuted for anything including murder.

    Don’t forget that Obama is directly linked to the criminal activities done by the Adreani family. There are two Drug Lord families in the MidWest; Adreani and Chinon (McHenry Il). They control more than $80Billion in drugs distributed and are linked to the Big Financial groups who are directly involved.
