CBS reporter yelled and screamed at over Fast and Furious scandal, Sharyl Attkisson, Laura Ingraham Show, White House Nazi attacks

From The Daily Caller October 4, 2011.

“CBS reporter: White House, DOJ reps ‘yelled’ and ‘screamed’ at her over ‘Fast and Furious’ scandal”

“Did the White House try to strong-arm a journalist in the wake of the Justice Department’s “Operation Fast and Furious” scandal? CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson says government leaders took a very aggressive tack following her revelations earlier this year.

On Tuesday’s Laura Ingraham Show, Attkisson said DOJ spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler and White House associate communications director Eric Schultz yelled and screamed at her over the story.

“The DOJ woman was just yelling at me,” Attkisson said. “The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me.  Eric Schultz — oh, the person screaming was Tracy Schmaler. She was yelling, not screaming. And the person who screamed at me was Eric Schultz at the White House.”

Attkisson explained the vicious tongue-lashing:

“In between the yelling that I received from the Justice Department yesterday, the spokeswoman — who would not put anything in writing — I was asking for her explanation so there would be clarity and no confusion later over what had been said. She wouldn’t put anything in writing,” she said.

“So we talked on the phone and she said things such as ‘the question Holder answered was different than the one he asked.’ But the way he phrased it, he said very explicitly, ‘I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.’”

Attkisson also said the DOJ and White House representatives complained that CBS was “unfair and biased” because it didn’t give the White House favorable coverage on the developing scandal.”

It was clear to the Citizen Wells blog by at least July 8, 2011 that Eric Holder had commited perjury.

“Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says he does not believe Attorney General Eric Holder gave accurate testimony under oath to Congress during the House Judiciary Committee on May 3.
Asked in May when he learned of Operation “Fast and Furious” and “Project Gunrunner,” Holder claimed he ‘probably’ learned of it ‘over the last few weeks.’ In the testy exchange that followed, Issa pointed out that two Americans were killed by weapons associated with the botched operation, and that in the end, no major criminals were brought to justice. Issa also implies that the Department of Justice was deliberately slow-rolling the request for documentation about the program. You can watch the exchange between Holder and Issa here.

As for the Attorney General’s timeline of the last few weeks, Operation ‘Fast and Furious’ was reported in major news outlets across the country starting not weeks, but months before the May 3 hearing, including a 4-page article in the Washington Post in February naming the program and explaining how it was supposed to work.”

“Eric Holder made the following speech on April 2, 2009.”

“Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels.  My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion.  DHS is making similar commitments, as Secretary Napolitano will detail.”

“From the US Department of Justice website.

“American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009″

“The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides $2.7 billion to the Office of Justice Programs; $1 billion to the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program; $225 million to the Office on Violence Against Women; and $10 million to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.”

http://www.justice.gov/recovery/

From the US Justice Department ATF plan June 1, 2010.

The Department of Justice’s (Department) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) received $10 million of the Federal aid issued through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). The Recovery Act provides additional funding for Project Gunrunner, an
existing ATF program, which is aimed at disrupting arms trafficking between the United States and Mexico.”

No, I missed it but have the same feeling. We have evil doers in our government that want to take away our rights and liberties. Just ask Alwaki if he got due process in a court of law as a US citizen…

Obama and Holder should be brought before the International Criminal Court. Mexico should file charges against them for the murder of up to 3,000 of it’s citizens as a result of this wreckless and intentional action to arm Mexican drug cartels.

Then let’s see how the libs respond since they advocated bringing Bush and Cheney before the ICC for war crimes in Iraq.

Instead of voting for one candidate in the primary, they should supply

Here is the blaring headline: “Perry built complicated record on matters of race.” What would normally follow such a headline is a story backing up that vague allegation. What readers are treated to instead is a story about how yesterday the Post ran a story calling Perry a racist. This paragraph has to be read to be believed:

The governor’s record on matters of race is attracting new scrutiny after The Washington Post’s account of a secluded West Texas hunting property that Perry and his father leased that has long been known by a name containing a racial epithet.

  13. Of course it is easy to see why the aforementioned scum bags believe everything that Soetoro says, he is cut from the same bolt of cloth that they were. This is also the sort of people who are involved in the alleged NYSE protest. They are PAID goons. If the Democrats’ proposed measure (Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011) becomes law, former presidents will be allowed to assert a new “constitutionally based privilege” against disclosing records of their liking. Here is how it would work; the Archivist of the United States would be required to notify the former president, as well as the incumbent, of intentions to make records public. Anything that either the former or current president claims should be kept private won’t be released.

The veteran Brooklyn congressman (Edolphus Towns) who recently introduced the law in the U.S. House has yet to explain why it’s necessary. …”

Yes. I was disgusted. Ken Burns argues that a nation founded on rights should allow people to drink. I as a non drinker and non-smoker think I have a right not to hit by drunk drivers, not to pay increased health costs from health effects of smoking, and I have a right not be bothered by second hand smoke. I can’t even go to the beach without people thinking they have the right to smoke there since they are outside. I have breathing problems and should have a right not to be bothered by smoke so I see both sides. So again, I find liberatarians and liberals wanting rights to misbehave. I want rights to be free of their misbehavior.

Try having neighbors in very close proximity who smoke anything and EVERYTHING. They sit on their porch, and exhale the smoke which often flows downwind, and in so doing passes over our porch and forces us to inhale the stink from their guts mixed in with the smoke from their exhaled POT. They are two years behind inpaying the property taxes, and in our county that is as far as they let you get. The property will soon be up for TAX SALE. Then they will be forced to move out,and their stinking smoke will go with them.

All members of Congress know Obama is ineligible for the Presidency. They are aware of the evidence substantiating his commission of felonies. And they are passively observing in real-time the execution of policies that will lead to the destruction of America.

Congress does nothing because it is now complicit in the Obama cover-up and because its members, both Republican and Democrat, value their political survival more than their country.

    Hey All,

Wow, my response to Tina went in to moderation.

    Maybe it was too long?

  39. Interested Bystander's avatar Interested Bystander

    Tina,

I know I respond to your comments far too often, but I believe that YOU are representative of where the Republican Party has evolved in too, and those of us who are, and have always been about personal LIBERTY and FREEDOM have to go elsewhere.

    Let me see here:

    Tina commented:

“Yes. I was disgusted. Ken Burns argues that a nation founded on rights should allow people to drink.”

Tina, they tried making alcohol illegal if you have read your history and the PEOPLE demanded that it be legal again.

    Tina goes on:

“I as a non drinker and non-smoker think I have a right not to hit by drunk drivers,”

What Article of the Constitution gives you the right to drive? Driving is a PRIVILEGE, and NOT a right. Maybe you need to learn the difference.

  40. Interested Bystander's avatar Interested Bystander

    Tina continues:

“not to pay increased health costs from health effects of smoking,”

There is no RIGHT to health insurance, although we are being indoctrinated in to believing that there is.

    And then Tina comments:

“and I have a right not be bothered by second hand smoke.”

Again, what Article of the Constitution gives you the RIGHT to breath fresh air?

I am serious, you can NOT just going around claiming that YOU have rights at the cost of others losing their LIBERTIES, without citing where in our founding documents these “rights” are found.

    Tina next comments:

“I can’t even go to the beach without people thinking they have the right to smoke there since they are outside.”

So because YOU or ANYONE else is on a beach and decides it needs to be a non smoking beach, then so be it? Who made you Queen?

I don’t like going to the beach and looking at those FAT bellies hanging out all over the place. It makes me sick to my stomach, and may cause me long term health consequences from having to endure this disgusting sight.

  41. Interested Bystander's avatar Interested Bystander

    Tina comments:

“I have breathing problems and should have a right not to be bothered by smoke so I see both sides.”

No Tina, you really don’t see it from both sides, you think YOU should dictate other people’s BEHAVIOR because you and only you know what is “moral” or what is a “right”.

I am sorry, but you are absolutely wrong on both of these issues.

You throw around the word “rights” like it’s something that needs to be monitored and people need to be watched to ensure they are adhereing to “rights”.

    Here’s what I believe;

The owner of a business should dictate what kind of clientelle he/she wants to cater too.

As far as PUBLIC property goes, smokers and drinkers pay MORE in taxes than you do, so following YOUR logic, since the MAJORITY of taxes are paid by smokers and drinkers, then THEIR rights should be more important than yours.

But that’s not what I believe, I believe there should be smoking areas in PUBLIC places, and non smoking areas.

You see, YOUR belief is that since YOU don’t like it, it should be illegal.

I will submit that YOUR side is winning in these battles, at the peril of personal LIBERTIES that are afforded by the Declaration of Independence.

YOUR side won’t argue for personal LIBERTIES until they are taken away from YOU, and then it may be too late. I suspect YOU think it’s wrong that the Ten Commandments, and any reference to God has been taken out of our schools (correct me if I’m wrong)?

I would submit to YOU that YOUR argument against taking these out of schools, is the SAME argument used in the instances you commented on above.

The Constitution states that Government can NOT establish a National Religion, and THAT clause has been morphed in to what we have today, where ANY reference to God is in some way establishing a National Religion when it is said in school. I just do not get it. AND I’M AGNOSTIC.

  42. Interested Bystander's avatar Interested Bystander

    Tina goes on:

“So again, I find liberatarians and liberals wanting rights to misbehave.”

There is no reasoning in this comment. I believe that “Libertarians” want people to be able to be RESPONSIBLE for their own actions, and make decisions without the infringement of what the consequesnces are, so long as they don’t infringe on other people’s RIGHTS.

Breathing fresh air is NOT a right.

    Driving is NOT a right.

Living life without risks is NOT a right.

You have a distorted view of how things are supposed to be. You seem that you want to DICTATE some kind of Utopia for YOU and YOU alone.

I believe it’s called being selfish.

    Tina concludes:

“I want rights to be free of their misbehavior.”

Again, and I’m sorry, but you simply do NOT have those rights.

YOUR supposed LIBERTIES (and these are liberties and NOT rights), are at the infringment of other people’s LIBERTIES.

The bottom line is, we are headed for an Oligarchy, if we aren’t already there, and with people thinking as you do, we are sure to stay that way for a while.

YOUR “rights” read more like a DICTATORSHIP than it does a REPUBLIC.

I guess it was too long, only the last part is in moderation now.

CW you can delet my LONG post.

Sorry folks, it’s just something I feel very strongly about.

ANYONE losing their LIBERTIES is wrong for EVERYONE.

Whether I believe it is right or wrong, it is NOT our responsibility to DICTATE people’s behavior. It is the responsibility of THAT person, and THAT person alone (with guidance from family, friends and “councelors” if needed, and NOT paid for by the Government I might add).

In my mind that is what FREEDOM is all about.

You SHOULD live your life in a “moral” and responsible way.

The Government will NOT be able to DICTATE what is “moral” or responsible, as long as you do NOT infringe on other people’s rights and liberties.

I have a right to live a clean life without you misbehaving. The police who direct traffic won’t let me leave my own subdivision via that route whem they are worshipping. Shouldn’t that church be banned too for harshing my mellow and forcing me to alter my life by taking the long road.

How about live and let live until your real rights are violated. Not just your moral sensibilities.

I can recall as a kid in the 40’s and 50’s, adults frequently uttering
“You know, there ought to be a law……………….”
Many of these of course were part of The Greatest Generation.
I also recall hearing them comment, mostly the Roosevelt worshipers,
“Wow, look what we can do when we pool our vast resources (tax money).
We kicked butt in WWll !”

Now look at where we are. Who let the dogs out??

Many of those fine folks were my HEROES, so I do not wish to denigrate what sacifices they made for us and our glorius country. I stood in awe of
their duty to country. Different times to be sure.

Clearly we should have been more watchful and diligent before things
got so far out of hand.

  56. Point is Paxson, and we could go round and round on this, is whose right is more important than others? My college roommate died when she didn’t smoke a day in her life because of all the smokers in the dorm. She died of lung cancer in her 20’s from second hand smoke. Didn’t she have the right to life? Whose rights are more important the smokers or the non-smokers? You keep saying the conservatives are about freedom. So are liberals. They hate the Patriot act because they think it stops their rights and lets the FBI listen to their phone calls. Liberals think they have a right to breathe clean air. You may think a business has a right to pollute that air and not be regulated. Whose right is more important? The country is founded on freedom.

  57. Newt is on CNN giving a strong defense of killing terrorists saying there is a long precedent for killing enemy combatants and that it is absolutely legal. He said if a terrorist gives himself up before he is killed, we can capture them and try and convict them, but if you are involved in activities that are encouraging the killing of Americans you are a traitor and an enemy combatant and can be killed immediately. Gotta love Newt.

  58. There is a fundamental flaw in the US Constitution in my opinion, and that is the 16 ammendment allows Congress to collect taxes, but it doesn’t limit how much Congress can take. As a result, it doesn’t force the country to consider what its priorities are. I think the greatest thing the next Congress and President can do is to introduce the idea of an cap on the amount of taxes that can be levied, assuming that is consitutional in itself.

I have a right not to be bullied, even if you think you have a right to bully.

Tina – We are raising a generation that is so insecure that it goes out and gets a tattoo so that he or she can be different LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE!!!
    Think about it.

  60. Tina, apparently you aren’t picking up what I’m putting down. I clearly said that we have right to freedom and liberty up to the point that somebody else’s rights are infringed upon.

One of the greatest movies I ever saw was the “Pirates Of Silicon Valley”.

There is a quote in the movie when Steve is having a meeting with Bill Gates over some copying of his patents by Gates. Steve quotes a saying by Pablo Picasso – “Good artists copy, but great artists STEAL”.
