“FEC TAKES FINAL ACTION ON SIX CASES
WASHINGTON – The Federal Election Commission recently made public its final action on six matters under review (MURs). In one matter, respondents agreed to pay a civil penalty of $5,500; the Commission found no reason to believe a violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended (the Act), occurred in connection with another allegation and it dismissed the remaining allegations. In another case, respondents agreed to pay a civil penalty of $3,600. The Commission exercised its prosecutorial discretion and dismissed the other four matters.
Under the law, the FEC must attempt to resolve its enforcement cases, or MURs, through a confidential investigative process that may lead to a negotiated conciliation agreement between the Commission and the individual or group.Additional information regarding MURs can be found on the FEC web site at http://www.fec.gov/em/mur.shtml.

Obama for America and Martin Nesbitt, in his official capacity as treasurer; Barack Obama; Obama Victory Fund and Andrew Tobias, in his official capacity as treasurer; Democratic National Committee and Andrew Tobias, in his official capacity as treasurer; VIDA Fitness; Urban Salons, Inc. doing business as Bang Salon Spa; David von Storch; and Saul Ewing, LLP.

SUBJECT:
The complaint alleged that Obama for America (OFA) and Nesbitt, in his official capacity as treasurer, converted campaign funds to Obama’s personal use by paying some of his personal travel expenses during the 2008 presidential campaign. It alleged further that VIDA Fitness facilitated the making of contributions and made prohibited contributions to the Obama Victory Fund (OVF), a joint fundraising committee comprised of OFA and the Democratic National Committee, by using a corporate email list to distribute OVF fundraising solicitations and allowing OVF to use VIDA’s facilities for a fundraiser. The complaint also alleged that OFA failed to disclose the transfer of a donor list to Project Vote, an affiliate of ACORN, and that OFA intended to accept and Saul Ewing LLP intended to make an excessive contribution in the form of pro bono legal services.
OUTCOME:
The Commission exercised its prosecutorial discretion and dismissed the personal use allegations in connection with Obama for America, its treasurer, acting in his official capacity, and Obama, and sent letters of caution. The Commission exercised its prosecutorial discretion and dismissed the allegations in connection with Obama Victory Fund and the Democratic National Committee and their treasurers, acting in their official capacities. In a conciliation agreement, VIDA Fitness, Urban Salons, Inc., d/b/a Bang Salon Spa, and von Storch agreed to pay a civil penalty of $5,500. ”

These filings are penny ante stuff – nobody cares – why were they even filed. Perhaps to chum the waters?
Did somebody file “the big one”? How is THAT one coming along. Maybe FEC just dismissed out-of-hand as being too compliacated to figure out and that it might take 4 years to sort through- at which point it would be moot ! !

I agree. Considering the massive fraud on which they should be concentrating, this is minimal.
Are we going to be calling pp the “untouchable?”
It appears he is protected from all sides against We the People.
What little I could bear to hear of what he said in the Health Care Summit made my blood boil…he was rude and obnoxious, and has been since Day 1.
I am waiting for someone to take him out in handcuffs, but I am not holding my breath.

Oh, Nancy, good grief! I feel for you. When I was younger, I didn’t care if I fell on the ice because I was in good shape. Now that I’m in my late 50s, I do care very much. Bless your heart and hope that you’re okay. I hope that you didn’t break your hip, but did you break a leg?

Emerg. rm. at hosp. last Sunday said I had a bad knee sprain. Going to ortho. dr. on Monday-probably will order MRI to see any ligament or tendon damage. Was too much being laid up & no computer too!
Lucky I didn’t break my hip at 56 yrs. old. But hoping the leg heals soon. Geez.. had to lay out there on the ice waiting for someone to notice!

No, Nancy…I had a flying fall in my home onto a cement floor. I have a muscle hematoma and torn ligaments in the thigh of my leg that will take 12 weeks to heal.
What happened to you? On what did you fall?
Any fall on a hard surface is painful…hope you are okay! *Sigh*

No, dear…no immobilizer brace. Did not take an ambulance or go to emergency because there would have been nothing they could do but drug me to get me there and drug me afterward…not good for a naturalist.
No broken bones…and nothing would have shown up on an x-ray. It happened three weeks ago tomorrow, and I am healing well.
Incidentally, I have been through this kind of injury before, and I have been trained in falling to prevent broken bones.
Went to Chiropractor thinking I might have hip problem, but there was nothing he could do. However, he told me I did all of the right things, and that healing will just take time. I have a cane to help me walk; I can sit now and can get upstairs. Problem is I cannot sleep for very long so I take naps.
The first week or two is the hardest; it gets easier as you begin to heal.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers…Linda

So sorry to hear of your problem and you too, Linda. Hope that y’all heal good. Like I do understand why people my age fear ice, but I do think that you could hurt yourself at any age on it.
I used to listen to our older folks talk when they were around, which they’re all gone now, but they used to say, Oh, we can’t get on that ice, no way, will fall and break something.
Now I really do understand what they were saying and why. We’re not as agile as we used to be. At least I’m not, and I used to be agile.

Better still somebody needs to contact the leading newspaper in Hawaii and sk them if they will look back in their records,and see what the exact date was of the alleged fire at Hawaii State Board od Health. If they are unable to find any record of a fire,guess who is the CNN LIAR.
