“Alan Keyes among 22 arrested at Notre Dame”
“Former Illinois U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes and 21 other protesters were arrested this morning when they refused to leave the Notre Dame campus during a protest of President Obama’s upcoming commencement address there, authorities said.
Keyes and the others were arrested on trespassing charges when they refused to leave campus, a university spokesman said. All 22 were being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on misdemeanor criminal trespass charges, in lieu of $250 bond each, said St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Redman.
Keyes was among a group of 26 protesters, some of them pushing baby carriages with dolls covered in fake blood, who entered the campus and were greeted by Notre Dame police, said university spokesman Dennis Brown.
The protesters had “publicized their intentions in advance,” and were handed notices advising them that university policy bans protests unless they are organized by student groups and approved in advance, Brown said.
University policy is to arrest anyone who refuses to leave campus after being notified of the policy, and Keyes and other protesters who stayed were arrested about 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time, he said.
“We’ve got a long established policy that only members of the university community can organize or lead a protest, and they have to be approved by our office of student affairs,” Brown said.”
“Notre Dame announced earlier this spring that Obama would be the commencement speaker at its May 17 graduation ceremony. Since then, Notre Dame, a Catholic university, has become the target of protests by groups who say Obama’s stance on abortion should disqualify him from speaking at a Catholic institution.”

The truth is already coming out. It’s really a matter of time now. The Patriot Movement to get our country back is akin to a steam locomotive on the Liberty Express.
It slowly picks up steam. After about 4 miles the locomotive gets up to nearly 75 MPH.
Meanwhile the Soetoro administration and Congress is sitting in limos stretched across a crossing about 2 miles ahead, thinking the line has been shut down for decades…
I still don’t understand how the Usurper could be allowed to speak there in the first place. The Pope was PISSED when the plan first became known, and Notre Dame being a CATHOLIC university, you’d think they’d pay attention …. instead, they’re giving him the finger. And the defenseless unborn. And the protesters. And the millions upon millions to whom life is sacred.

Citing Notre Dame’s flagrant violation of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ express wishes, Harvard Law professor and former U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Mary Ann Glendon has declined Notre Dame’s offer of this year’s Laetare Medal.
The Laetare Medal is the highest honor the University gives. It is awarded to the Catholic layperson “whose genius has ennobled the arts and sciences, illustrated the ideals of the church and enriched the heritage of humanity” each year.
Professor Glendon’s letter to Father Jenkins declining the award also seemed to imply that she did not appreciate being used to balance out Notre Dame’s outrageous choice of President Obama to give the commencement address:
A commencement, however, is supposed to be a joyous day for the graduates and their families. It is not the right place, nor is a brief acceptance speech the right vehicle, for engagement with the very serious problems raised by Notre Dame’s decision—in disregard of the settled position of the U.S. bishops—to honor a prominent and uncompromising opponent of the Church’s position on issues involving fundamental principles of justice.

If you Google Notre Dame graduation protests
—lots of protesters coming to protest Obama’s
giving ND’s commencement address. Alumni,
charter busloads of pro-life supporters, clergy,
and Americans who do not support the invitation
to BHO who does not uphold the values of Notre Dame. On one site I read where a priest was
giving a speech during the commencement for families at an alternative campus location. Many Bishops have come out denouncing the Obama invitation. If Obama had had any compassion and wisdom, he would have declined the invitation. What’s next at Notre Dame, Bill Ayers??
This invite really makes no sense. I sure hope they’re going to set an example.
Then again the Catholic organization (not the regular congregation) has been harboring criminals for decades, so this isn’t surprising.

Not surprisingly, the local NBC station, WNDU here in South Bend, has hardly covered this story at all. They are on the southwest campus of Notre Dame and are highly favorable to everything related to Notre Dame. They didn’t even mention Dr. Keyes being arrested today and have only mentioned the scandal occasionally. I have emailed WNDU that they need to inform people that this is a national story causing a lot of controversy, but to no avail. Even an archbishop from the Vatican said yesterday that this is a scandal!! You just know that Obama loves to stick it in the eye of all these people who object to his being at ND. Such a jerk. More power to Dr. Keyes and everybody who protests!!

Dr.Alan Keyes was a 2008 presidential candidate, who is also a plaintiff in one of the many lawsuits challenging Barack Obama constitutional eligibility to occupy the White House.
Keyes has also stated that “Obama is a radical communist, he is going to destroy this country, and either we are going to stop him, or the United States is going to cease to exist.”

I see Dr. Alan Keyes as the next Martin Luther King leading all of us to the restoration of American under the mighty Constitution. As much as we don’t want to see any one arressted or harmed –especially for exercising their rights under the US Constitution. We must also recognize that Dr. Keyes and the protesters arrest will do more good for our cause than any thing else that can be done. The arrest of Dr. Keyes and the other protesteros will also weaken Obama’s position. Though it is a painful way to go, it demonstrates determination and brings focus upon this and the many other issues we have with Obama and their thuggery. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the cause.
Dr. Keyes is letting the world know–much to the Obama’s thugs denial–that America does not want Obama’s “change”. We, are supporting Dr. Keyes in every way possible. As a person educated by Catholic nuns, I can’t thhink of anything more disgraceful than having the likes of a thug like Obama giving the Commencement speech at Notre Dame. If there were any decency left in the man who made that choice, he would politely ask Obama to not come and find another speaker–like Allan Keyes.
The fact that a”SICKO” at ND had to have asked Soetoro to address the graduating class is enough to tell me that the person responsible will soon be EXCOMMUNICATED on ORDERS DIRECT FROM ROME. This was without a doubt another serious embarassment to the Catholic church. My guess is that the person who perpetrated the invitation is someone who is the same sort of slimey individual as were the CHILD MOLESTERS from a few years back. The church can do without the services of such people. I pray that he,and/or they will be excommunicated SOON.

I think the one who should really be arrested is BO. He is the one who is bad. Instead they arrest good people like Alan Keyes. They should be concentrating on arresting BO on the charges of fraud and treason. I really want to see him out of office ASAP! He doesn’t deserve an honorary degree from Notre Dame nor to speak there because of his hideous stance on abortion.
