We were in Greensboro, NC over the weekend and as usual picked up a copy of the Rhino Times, one of the few newsprint outlets in NC that tell it like it is. Unlike other papers in large cities of North Carolina such as the Charlotte Observer, they did not drink the kool aid and attempted to expose the truth about the real Barack Obama. Editor in chief, John Hammer, is in the forefront of exposing Obama with his column “Under The Hammer.”

April 30, 2009It appears we have elected a man president whose main claim to fame is that he reads well from a teleprompter. Whatever is there he reads with a predictable pacing that people seem to like. When it said “privacy” on the screen instead of “piracy,” he read privacy even though it made no sense.
When the teleprompter can’t keep up he motions for it to move faster and apologizes to the audience. Wouldn’t it be nice if he had some idea what he was saying and could give a five-minute speech without having to read the exact words off a screen?
I guess we are getting what we deserve. For years the media has allowed people who sit in front of cameras and read from teleprompters to call themselves journalists or reporters. Many are not. They don’t write the stories, they just read them, like Ted Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show or Ron Burgundy in Anchorman. These caricatures are all too real. But nobody wants to admit that the people reading the news on television are often just pretty faces who read well. We pretend that they actually go out, get the information and write the stories even though we know it isn’t true.
When Dan Rather got caught with a false story about former President George W. Bush, he of course blamed it on his producer – the person who actually researched and wrote the story – while at the same time not admitting that he didn’t write his own news.
So for years we have had people pretending to be reporters and the nation has gone along with the farce. Now we have a man pretending to be president. He has the same skill set as the network newsreaders: He reads well from a teleprompter. We know that he will read whatever is there because we do not have a problem with “privacy” on the high seas. The scary part is that Obama doesn’t flinch or get a puzzled expression on his face when the teleprompter is wrong; he just continues to read whatever is put before him on the teleprompter.
We know that he will stop reading when the teleprompter can’t keep up because he doesn’t ad lib. He stops and tells the technician to get it fixed.
When he was in France, Obama said that he didn’t know what the word for “wheeling and dealing” was in Austrian. It is a true statement because Austrian is not a language any more than American is a language. The people in Austria mostly speak German. Americans mostly speak English.
Imagine if former President George W. Bush had made that statement. In fact, former Vice President Dan Quayle said something similar about knowing Latin when he was going to Latin America. The press made great fun of him over and over again, but it is a statement that makes sense. If you know Latin you can understand some Spanish, as well as other romance languages.
The press made Quayle out to be an idiot for making a perfectly reasonable statement. Obama made a statement about a language that does not exist, and that is not even mentioned in the mainstream media.

On April 29th, Barack Obama spoke at a town hall meeting in Arnold, MO about his first 100 days. Over 200 people, representing the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition, protested the irresponsible overspending of Congress and the Obama administration. A few local TV stations broadcast snippets of the demonstration but not one major news network carried this story.
The President of the United States was inside, dissing the tea party protesters who were outside exercising their First Amendment right to freedom of speech and the right to peaceably assemble. SHAMEFUL!

Papers such as the Charlotte Observer, that endorsed Obama early and reported little about the
real Obama, are going down the drain fast.

Regarding the Orly Taitz, Philip Berg, 2 Lisas, Paypal controversies.
I often let the dust settle before I comment.
The Obama Camp wants there to be dissension.
I do not want to get pulled into a diversion.
Both Philip Berg and Orly Taitz have created a heightened sense of awareness
about eligibility and other issues surrounding Barack Obama.
Both have been somewhat controversial but they are not running for president.
I hope that their efforts pay off.

3. Civil rights

We must credibly inform as many citizens as possible and remain united.
Those running for office need our money and our votes.

CW…One of the things that I do not hear mentioned, and which is crucial to the coming elections of 2010 and 2012, is the factor of the crooked voting machines. It is essential that we try to do something, anything, to have these machines outlawed, or there is no chance in Hades that we will ever see an end to corrupt elections.
As it is now, the machines can be controlled by cell phones, and the votes manipulated. So with this factor, plus ACORN (especially with the nearly 5 billion dollars awarded to them with the porkulus bill, and all the illegals in the country who will able to vote (by hook or by crook) , and all the phony contributors who gave to the Obama campaign, none of which seems to have been accounted for. And the WH has shown that they will change precedent or law as they wish, to get what they want.
Hopefully we will be able to find some strong, charismatic, leaders who will stand strong against the Liberals, and hold the Dems feet to the fire about their disregard for We The People and the Constitution of the United States.
One thing that I always find helpful whenever I start to get depressed over the present situation is to remember this: We outnumber them by about 300 million. Yes, there will always be those who are either too stupid, too immersed in evil, or too in love with Marxism/socialism to give a damn. But at most, those “hardcores” likely number less than 5 million. There are millions and millions of others who either are beginning to wake up now, or will wake up soon, or will, at the very least, obey THE most powerful human instinct of all: That of self-preservation. It’s like people trapped inside a burning house. The overriding instinct of self-preservation drives them to escape in order to avoid what will happen to them if they stay in that burning house. Laziness, greed, uncertainty and apathy are temporarily abandoned.
I hope this made some kind of sense. It’s been kind of a long day.

Whether 300 million strong or not, the direction of the country will rely substantially on who has control of the military. Without that nothing can be done when there is a large opposing faction. Anyone who thought that Obama’s wish to have the military plead their allegiance to him is a joke, is either very afraid and/or in denial.
This has been the plan all along, since strong resistance to the major changes of course, is anticipated. Human beings do not give up their liberties, period. Right now those who support the current administration are counting on greater assistance, not diminished liberties.

He was again sued by the ACLU and that case resulted in an order to have the monument removed.
Judge Moore refused and was removed from his post as Chief Justice.

Agreed. The Military and their actions along with excessive gun control will tell us what direction everything is heading and fast.
Do not assume the entire armed forces is going to jump off the wagon and take action. Many are career service men and women with families and “desk jobs”. More service level in nature, they don’t receive the combat training others do. For example there is an extermely large number of service personnel in the Air Force who typically do clerical and administrative work to support aircraft, pilots, ground crews, and other mission critical positions. The same applies to other branches. This makes it challenging because the founding fathers never intended to have full time employees in the federally mandated military.

I am wondering if the Berg camp has had a visit from the green-eyed monster, and just can’t stand the fact that Orly is getting more attention than Berg. Back when I occasionally visited that board (before they discontinued my account for “not posting frequently enough”), everything I read there was a diatribe against everyone except Berg.
I’ve just about had it up to my eyeballs with those on various websites who tell everyone that will listen that ONLY THEIR case is worth anything; that ONLY THEY have the answers; that only if people listen to THEM and do exactly as THEY say will America survive and get Obama out of office.
All the preaching, talking down to everyone, and petty ego trips need to go! “A house divided against itself cannot stand”.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members – on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven’t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t!
Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that’s $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million – not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.
I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do.
We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you.
I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities.

Obama Deal Violates 5th Amendment
If Obama expected the senior creditors of Chrysler to fold their tents under political pressure, they may have gotten a rude shock today. Thomas Lauria, who accused the White House of threatening the creditors withn humiliation at the hands of the White House press corps, has filed a motion to halt the administration’s machinations on behalf of the UAW in the Chrysler bankruptcy. Lauria and his allies claim that the Obama administration has violated the Constitution in their bid to devalue the senior creditors’ holdings on behalf of junior creditors, and have some precedent to support the allegation.
The heart of the argument starts on page 8 (via HA commenter Outlander):
III. The Taking of Collateral through a Direct or Indirect Use of TARP Authority is Unconstitutional.
13. The Treasury Department relies on TARP as the purported authority to justify the disparate treatment under the 363 Sale, even though TARP was enacted after the Senior Lenders’ liens on the Debtors’ property were already in place. The Supreme Court long ago recognized, however, that a secured creditor’s interest in specific property is protected in bankruptcy under the Fifth Amendment. Louisville Joint Stock Land Bank v. Radford, 295 U.S. 555, 594 (1935). That case involved a Depression-era statute that was intended to help bankrupt farmers avoid losing their land in mortgage foreclosure. The statute in Radford provided that the bankrupt debtor could achieve a release of the security interests either (i) with the lender’s consent, purchasing the property at its then appraised value by making deferred payments for two to six years at statutorily-set interest rates; or (ii) by seeking from the bankruptcy court a stay of the proceedings for up to five years during which time the debtor could use the property by paying a rent set by the court, which payments would be for the benefit of all creditors, with a purchase option at the end of that period. Id. at 856-57.
14. Justice Brandeis noted that the “essence of a mortgage” is the right of the secured party “to insist upon full payment before giving up his security [i.e., the property pledged].” Radford, 295 U.S. at 580. In invalidating the statute, the Court stated that “[t]he bankruptcy power . . . is subject to the Fifth Amendment,” and that the pernicious aspect of this law was its “taking of substantive rights in specific property acquired by the bank prior to the act.” Id. at 589-90 (emphasis added). Thus, Congress could not pass a law that could be used to deny to secured creditors their rights to realize upon the specific property pledged to them or “the right to control meanwhile the property during the period of default.” Id. at 594. That is precisely what the Treasury Department would have Chrysler do here, with respect to the Chrysler Non-TARP Lenders’ property rights that were acquired prior to the enactment of TARP.
15. Relying on purported authority provided by TARP, the Treasury Department is demanding that Chrysler’s assets be stripped away from the coverage of the Senior Lenders’ liens — thereby impairing the rights of the Senior Lenders to realize upon those assets — so that those assets may be put in New Chrysler and used to the benefit of unsecured creditors in this proceeding, who will then be paid much more than the Senior Lenders. But, even assuming that TARP provides the Treasury Department with authority to provide funding to the Debtors and impose the transfer of collateral away from the Senior Lenders, TARP was enacted long after the Senior Lenders contracted with the Debtors and received senior liens on the Debtors’ property. Radford specifically disallowed the use of a law to retroactively alter existing liens on property.
16. Here, the proposed sale of the Debtors’ assets will leave the Senior Lenders with a diluted pool of assets and no further interests in the operating assets covered by their specific liens. The Constitution forbids this application of a law retroactively to undercut the Senior Lenders’ pre-existing property rights in favor or inferior creditors.
17. Finally, that the Treasury Department would take these unconstitutional actions to help the United States address difficult economic times is not an answer. Indeed, the same justification was expressly rejected in Radford, where Justice Brandeis noted that a statute which violated secured creditors’ rights, but which was passed for sound public purposes relating to the Great Depression, could not be saved because “the Fifth Amendment commands that, however great the nation’s need, private property shall not be thus taken even for a wholly public use without just compensation.” Id. at 602.
18. What is really striking here is that what is being proposed by the Sale Motion would strip the Collateral away and allow it to be put to use as new capital in New Chrysler for the benefit of existing and other creditors — even though the Chrysler Non-TARP Lenders have been given no opportunity to realize upon that Collateral to the point of full repayment ahead of at least $14 billion of selectively identified unsecured creditors.
One might think that a Constitutional scholar like Barack Obama would have already known that, but either this precedent escaped him or he doesn’t care about it at all. Brandeis acted to uphold contract law, especially in the face of a government interest in paying off politically-connected unsecured creditors ahead of the senior creditors. There is no other reason for Brandeis to make that decision, as only government could insert itself into the contractual relationship during a bankruptcy proceeding — just as Obama has done with Chrysler.
Lauria’s argument seems very compelling here, especially given Brandeis’ rather clear assertion that bankruptcy proceedings have to fall within the 5th Amendment — and that government can’t implement a taking to satisfy its own arbitrary aims by ignoring the relationship of the creditors to the default. We’ll see whether the court rebukes Obama.

Today–voting day with a local school issue
here. As I stood in line, people ahead of me were being asked for their identification. I kept thinking, wait a minute, why should I show mine, when Obama hasn’t shown “his” records
for anything?
When it was my turn, I said, “What if I don’t
have I.D.?” to the poll worker. She asked me
for a paid utility bill. I told her I didn’t have
that either. Then I told her I didn’t have my
birth certificate either. Then I told her I wasn’t born in the U.S. By this time, the poll worker
next to her was smiling at me. I told them
I didn’t need records, others in government
didn’t show them. By that time a man handing
out the ballots piped in saying, “We’re not

She has vigorously opposed the de-funding of taxpayer-funded clinics that promote abortions, despite the fact that a majority of Americans do NOT want their tax dollars to fund abortion providers.
7th Circuit Court of Appeals judge Diane Wood ruled AGAINST bans on partial-birth abortion in cases involving legislation from Wisconsin and Illinois.
Sonia Sotomayor, a Hispanic judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, who stated on a panel at Duke University Law School in 2005 that it is JUDGES who make policy, not legislators. And in a 2002 speech at Berkeley, she said she believes it is appropriate for a judge to consider their “experiences as women and people of color” in their decision-making, which she believes should “affect our decisions.”
Cass Sunstein, a law professor friend of the president and his current nominee to be head of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), has been an outspoken proponent of tough restriction on gun sales and ownership, a ban on hunting, animal rights and what has been characterized as a “Fairness Doctrine” for the Internet.
Hillary Clinton. Need I say more?
Remember, Barack Obama has spoken out in terms of “redistributive justice” (“spread the wealth”) and considered it a shame that the Warren Court, which is the most liberal court in American history, did not engage in wealth redistribution! He likely thinks that he now has a “green light” to begin reshaping the federal judiciary to reflect his own far-left beliefs. Based on his recent appointments to the Justice Department, President Obama will probably name a Supreme Court nominee who will embrace an extremely liberal judicial philosophy — UNLESS we can intervene in the Senate BEFORE that happens!
We CAN stop Barack Obama from getting his choice of an extreme liberal judge passed easily through the U.S. Senate. But it’s going to take HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of messages, POURING into all of these Senators’ offices, to ensure we AT LEAST end up with a more “moderate” justice to replace Souter. Maddie, there could’ve been a lot of ‘do-overs’ if the Congress and the courts weren’t so corrupt. The questions that Dr. Manning was asking were asked before the elections and nothing was done about it-this usurper just slid in. I remember ripping out my hair and thinking why isn’t someone *doing* something about this guy?
They just don’t care.
It goes to a bigger question as to exactly who is behind him-he’s nothing, just a puppet. Groomed and slipped in with an unsuspecting and uninformed public cheering, crying and fainting.
Dr. Manning, Ambassador Keyes and others are still trying; I just hope that people will begin to listen. Each day Soetoro is in there is one more day he damages this country.
