The Chicago Tribune has a new article that echoes what most of us have been thinking. The article came out today, Saturday, September 6, 2008. Here are some exerpts:

“First of all, it’s preposterous to suggest that Palin is or was a bad parent simply because her daughter got pregnant outside of marriage. I can’t imagine Palin has in any way encouraged her children to engage in risky and illicit behavior, and she certainly doesn’t encourage teenagers in general to do so. Granted, her daughter used poor judgment, but she is now making a morally acceptable decision to keep the baby and get married (the other morally acceptable choice would, of course, be adoption).”

I question the fact that she supports abstinence for sex education. Maybe had her daughter learned more about birth control, she wouldn’t be in this situation.
I’m surprised that Sarah Palin’s opponents would go after women, children, and the unborn. I guess that’s politics. However, common sense dictates that it’s not an argument her detractors will win. It is that kind of willful ignorance that gets kids in trouble with pre-marital sex and teen pregnancies. Yes, contraception is taught in every sex education and health class. But the fact remains no form of contraception, barring sterilization; is 100% effective.
You, I, nor anybody else knows all the facts of this matter. She could have very well been using birth control and her partner could have been using a condom at the same time. However, as the old phrase goes… Shit Happens.
Again no form of contraception is 100% effective, but absence is. If you don’t engage in sexual activity to begin with, you are not going to get pregnant. Period, end of story. Why is it so hard for individuals such as yourself to understand this simple concept?
This is not a matter of, or reflection upon bad parenting, bad judgment, bad Health and Sex Education Curriculum. It is statistically more probable that what ever forms of contraception were being used simply failed to do their/its job.
Thus I honestly have to ask: Why is it you would automatically assume to the contrary without all the facts and details of the matter unless you indeed had nefarious motives to begin with?
DOUBLE STANDARD IS ALIVE AND WELL.
OBVIOUSLY THERE IS ONE STANDARD BY WIHCH THE PRESS JUDGES AND WRITES ABOUT MALE POLITICAL CANDIDATES. AND, THERE IS ANOTHER STANDARD FOR WHITE FEMALE POLITICAL CANDIDATES.
THE PRESS DEFENDS AND MAKES EXCUSES FOR SARAH PALIN . AND, LET SARAH PALIN BY WITH EVERYTHING.

Then please explain why Obama has been given a free ride from public scrutiny more than any other political candidate in modern history.
There is a double Standard…. Liberals in general and most especially Obama and his goons get away with murder and it is never reported. Conservatives on the other hand have every bit of sleaze, true or not, reported about them and without question.

Nobody is attacking Palin’s kids, as everybody knows the Democrats would welcome her with open arms if she has 5 kids from different fathers. Not the question here. What is however, is the fact that after SHE broke the story so the Enquirer couldn’t, and then paraded the boy onto the stage, why is it nobody is supposed to talk about it? Bildo O’fallafel, made the comment regarding JLS, that her PARENTS were to blame. “Pinheads” he called them. Yet he turns around and whines that the media is attacking this “poor woman”. Yeah, poor snake lady, who couldn’t force her daughter to get married before anybody found out.
Palin herself, commented that Hillary was whining and hurting women, “does she think the enemy is going to go easy on her because she’s a woman?” Rove criticized the possible choice of the former mayor of Richmond, VA, as someone with so little experience that it would be like saying “I don’t care if this person has no qualifications whatsoever”. Then turns around and whines, “why are they picking on poor Sarah?” She has all the experience in the World!”
In other words it’s all just republicon bs. They are just trying to do the same thing they have always done, scare Americans into voting for them even after failing so miserably for the past 8 years.
