Q4 GDP boosted by Obamacare spending, Obama lies economy dies, Market Watch orwellian version vs Zero Hedge reality, Healthcare largest expenditure, Economy in ruins as food stamp usage soars for labor force dropouts

“two-thirds of the “boost” to final Q3 personal consumption came from, drumroll, the same Obamacare which initially was supposed to boost Q1 GDP until the “polar vortex” crashed the number so badly, the BEA decided to pull it completely and leave this “growth dry powder” for another quarter. That quarter was Q3.”…Zero Hedge December 23, 2014

“One of the CBO’s most intriguing estimates is that by 2017 there will be 2 million fewer full-time jobs on the market than there would have been without Obamacare, and that figure could climb to 2.5 million by 2024.”…Market Watch February 4, 2014

“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.”…George Orwell, “1984″

The fourth quarter GDP was lower than forecast at 2.6 percent.

It would have been lower without the higher costs of healthcare brought on by Obama and Obamacare.

Here is the Orwellian spin from Market Watch.

“The U.S. economy slowed a bit more than expected in the fourth quarter after expanding at the fastest pace in eleven years during the fall, according to data released Friday.

Gross domestic product — the value of all goods and services produced by the U.S. — grew at a 2.6% annual clip in the fourth quarter, the government said Friday. That’s below the 5.0% pace recorded in the July-September period.

Economists polled by MarketWatch forecast GDP would grow by a seasonally adjusted 3.2% in the October-to-December period.”

“Consumer spending was a major positive in the fourth quarter, expanding 4.3%, the fastest pace since before the financial crisis.”

“Consumer spending was a major positive”????

And talk about Orwellian.

From Market Watch January 30, 2015.

“White House says economy grew 3.9% using a different measure of growth”

“On the surface this gives the appearance that the economy hit a sizable soft patch.Read full MarketWatch report.

But White House chief economist Jason Furman noted that all of the swings in the fourth quarter came from two notoriously volatile sectors—net exports and government spending.

In a blog post, Furman noted that the economy increased at a 3.9% rate in the October to December period, applying an alternative measure of GDP that strips out these volatile sectors. That figure is only a tad slower than the 4.1% rate in the third quarter.”

Now for the reality from Zero Hedge January 30, 2015.

“Thanks Obamacare: This Is What Americans Spent The Most Money On In Q4”

2014Q4 spending GDPobamacare

“If readers need clarification on what was the primary source of spending-based “growth” for the US economy in the fourth quarter, the same source that bumped up final Q3 GDP from 3.9% to 5.0%, please ping us: we will gladly explain the chart below. And just in case it is still unclear what Americans are spending their “gas sasvings” on, here it is one more time.”

From Zero Hedge December 10, 2014.

“The spin continues:

It’s a fair bet that most of the reduced energy costs are going to show up as added spending by consumers somewhere,” said James Hamilton, an economics professor at the University of California, San Diego.

Here’s the thing, Professor Hamilton is spot on. The only problem is what this added spending will be used on. Sadly, it is neither trinkets, nor gadgets, nor BigMacs, nor even surging cell phone and home internet bills. Unfortunately for the proponents of the “oil crash is unquestionably bullish for America” (as an aside, the falacy of a statement is directly proportional to how “unquestionable” it is), where the bulk of “savings” for those Americans who have to spend on gas (primarily those Americans who commute to work, i.e. the middle class) is… on Obamacare.

Here is confirmation that in a centrally-planned economy, it is the unintended consequences that always prevail in the end:

Example 1:

Iowans are feeling the heat from Obamacare’s rising premiums, especially Wellmark customers with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

As of January 1, 2015, Blue Cross Blue Shield customers will experience a 14.5 percent increase in premiums, while Wellmark Health plans will see a 11.9 percent increase.

Example 2:

Hundreds of thousands of consumers nationwide who bought insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act will face a choice this fall: swallow higher premiums to stay in their plan, or save money by switching. That is the picture emerging from proposed 2015 insurance rates in the 10 states that have completed their filings, which stretch from Rhode Island to Washington state.

In all but one of them, the largest health insurer in the state is proposing to increase premiums between 8.5% and 22.8% for next year, according to a Wall Street Journal review of the filings. That percentage represents the average rate increases for all individual health plans offered by that carrier

Example 3:

Aetna has said it is likely to seek rate increases of more than 10% for individual marketplace plans in 2015, according to a note from Citigroup analyst Carl McDonald. An Aetna spokeswoman said that with health-law fees, generally increasing health-care cost trends and other factors, “that level of increase would not be out of the realm of possibility,” but it was too soon to say what it would request.”

Example 4:

Americans increasingly have to dig into their own pockets to pay for medical care, a shift that is helping to curb the growth in health spending by employers and the government.

The trend is being accelerated by the Affordable Care Act because many private plans sold by the law’s health exchanges come with hefty out-of-pocket costs, which prompt some people to delay or put off seeking care. For the exchanges’ 2015 policies, which went on sale last month, “bronze-level” plans have an average deductible of $5,181 for individuals, up from $5,081 in 2014, according to a November report from HealthPocket, which publishes health insurance market analyses. Bronze plans generally cover 60% of consumers’ medical expenses.

And that ignores the fact that the average deductible for workers who get employer health coverage has shot up 47% to $1,217 from $826, and that one in three Americans said they or a family member delayed medical care because of costs in 2014.”

  1. “Q4 GDP boosted by Obamacare spending”

    # 1 on Bing already.

    Hope people read this.

  2. And Yahoo.

  3. # 3 on Google.

  4. $hit is about to hit the fan, when the IRS starts confiscating people’s IRS tax refunds, and forces people to pay the penalty for not having health insurance, and then force them to spend money to get coverage. I know some people who have no healthcare, but they are expecting a big refund.

The amount Americans spend on health insurance is about to skyrocket, and there will be a lot less money left over to stimulate the economy. Another recession is coming.

  5. bob, this could be a rough year.

  6. “The U.S. Census Bureau reported Wednesday that 16 million children living in America received food stamps in 2014, or about one out of every five kids.”

  8. Well folks, it looks like the elite republican establishment has etched their nominee in stone. They have just removed Romney from the game and have elevated their choice, Jeb Bush to the forefront. Its not we, the people who get to decide, its the big money donors!

I doubt the average, conservative voter had either of those candidates in mind. Yet the media is portraying Jeb as the one in front. Does anyone in their right mind think the name Bush is going anywhere?

We have a deep bench on the conservative side from which to choose. I have been saying Scott Walker would be a strong choice. However, I don’t know if he has the “star” quality necessary to bring in the blue dogs or the independents. I also don’t know his view on all the issues. Kasich is also a good choice, but I think he has some questionable issues in his past.

Until Marco Rubio came out along with the dems on the immigration issue, I thought he could be the rock star. His eligibility is also questionable. At this point, since the usurper in chief has been in office for 6 years without a smidgeon of evidence that he is a NBC, I don’t think it really matters to the low informed citizenry.

It is quite obvious, such things as constitutional requirements mean nothing. My feeling is just get the person who is committed to saving and protecting our country. One who understands the economy and is willing to protect and defend our borders. We need a patriot that is willing to name the enemy and take the fight to them.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe in our constitutional requirements for POTUS.
But we are facing a crisis similar to what we faced in the late 1930’s only now I think the potential dangers are far worse.

During the next year and a half, someone will rise to the top. I just pray its not Jeb Bush, or we will see the first female elected to the presidency. Clinton and/or fauxcohantas would be the death blow to this great nation.

  9. Jeb Bush is a likeable fellow but RINO.

  10. while I am in “rant” mode, there is something else going on that is extremely worrisome.

Have ya’ll noticed the recent “anonymous” leaks about Hillary and her Libyan war? Or the fact that not all in the pentagon were in agreement with the taliban 5 swap for the deserter Bergdahl? Or Chuck Hagel coming out recently saying he was pressured by the administration on Gitmo releases, the four 4 star generals (retired) that recently testified about our dangerous non foreign policy policies?

It appears once again this administration is in crisis mode about something that is about to be released. I don’t really believe it is the fact that they have determined Bergdahl is a deserter. That was a foregone conclusion. And there was a previous investigation before this recent one that I am sure was quite definitive. The fact that this administration refuses to name the enemy for what it is and now says the taliban is not an official terrorist organization gives them cover for negotiating the release of the taliban 5. Remember, we do not negotiate with terrorists. All this I believe is diversion.

What I fear, there is something else going on. Are they picking up chatter about another hit on the US? Is ICE or border patrol going to release some info on terrorists walking through our porous borders? Is the economy going to collapse?

Things are starting to unravel and too many people are scrambling out with info..as if to say, sorry, but its not my fault. I fear, something big and bad is about to happen…

This is just my gut feeling, but we have all seen this administration and how it works…diversion from the real story. Watch what the other hand is doing.

    Please stay vigilant. God bless.

  13. Ginger,
Some times old news is the best & still relevant.

We the People are going to have to hit this islamic takeover when and wherever needed. According to what Ms. Weick has said before, she feels called by God to be a voice against what CAIR and other muslim front groups are trying to do here in America.

  15. Honor First,
Staying vigilant is always good advice. We just need to do it now more than ever, as you have warned.
Jeb is a decent man, I believe, but he can’t win over Clinton. Talk about a lackluster campaign, another Bush vs. Clinton. Furthermore, as CW says, he is a RINO.
So far Walker is showing himself to be a strong communicator, has won the victory over the Dems numerous times against many odds, and is very conservative, both socially and economically. It is too early to decide, but he is among the top picks on my list.

Furthermore, although Dr. Ben Carson has not had political experience (that could be a good thing), he is a very intelligent, patriotic man who would surround himself with those with the right philosophy and vast experience in their fields. He is a God-loving, decent man also, and there is a vast campaign network already in place to back him up. Another important thing is that he would carry enough of the black and hispanic vote (according to previous polls) to overwhelm a Dem candidate like Hillary. I think we have yet to see what he is all about. If he could participate in debates, then people may be pleasantly surprised. Just my thoughts, of course.

  16. Jeb Bush is married to an Hispanic, and he speaks Spanish, and in the mind of the elite RINOS, this is what it is going to take to win the election. They believe republicans need to suck up to Hispanics, many of whom will be voting illegally, thanks to the usurper.

I would prefer Dr Carson, or Scott Walker, who have no ties to the crooks in DC.

  17. Spot on CW, am awaiting your next post.

Cabby, I agree with you with Dr. Carson, He is truly a gracious, brilliant man willing to serve. And I agree that being outside of the belt is a very good thing. As with all good candidates, no one comes with all the credentials, and I know he would seek the appropriate counsel for whatever issue arises.

I assume the other side has already deemed him a threat, especially because he is a black conservative. The mudslinging has already begun.

I honestly believe that the dems will not win the 2016 election no matter who they nominate…and the reverse for the republicans. 8 years of failed domestic and foreign policies will be enough for all voters. I just hope the right republican is elected. We cannot survive with the status quo republican establishment.

I guess its time, we here at CW start doing our research on all those running.

Hopefully the true cream will rise to the top. After 8 years of angst, I am starting to get excited about a new wave and restoration of my country.

That is if this “transformation of America” doesn’t destroy it before then.

  18. Mr. Wells…you are so right!

As far as Romney…..I feel he was called to a One World Order meeting and threatened as he was when he was called to the White House for lunch with Barry which only lasted 50 minutes! That was a fast lunch! His family was threatened! You do not get 125% of the vote when you are a Demo-rat in a Republican district! I will not vote for the one world order scum bags! And I see that Jed is one along with daddy and others in the Bush family! Let’s see I forgot their German name which they changed when they came here to America.

    All planned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Yes, Honor, the mudslinging will only get worse re. Dr. Carson. The liberal black establishment can’t stand him, plus the Dems will try every trick in the book to vilify him. I cannot believe that he is not fully aware of the slander and hard knocks he is going to receive. If he goes forward in the strength of his God, he will be able to overcome them like David did with Goliath.

What about a ticket of Walker and Carson? Of course, the V.P. choice is always that of the nominee. It is getting exciting, isn’t it? We are in for a very bumpy ride, especially as you say, “That is if this ‘transformation of America’ doesn’t destroy it before then.”

Here is a simple take on Obama’s view of the worldwide threat. You go Greta!

The usurper’s goal is to aid the Jihad’s effort at establishing a Muslim Caliphate, and for the usurper to end up being the Supreme Leader over the whole mess. A nuclear Iran is part of the plan, and so is the destruction of Israel. That’s pretty much all they live for.

The usurper and Valerie Jarrett are working with the Iranians, to give them an Atomic weapon, so the Muslim Caliphate will have what it needs to blackmail all of Europe, and the World.

The narcissistic usurper will probably try to be a leader of something after his term expires as Liar In Chief, so he will have to figure out how to put himself in charge of the Muslim arsenal of nuclear weapons, which will make him in his eyes, The Big Kahuna.

I am thinking the same thing, “Logan Act” is stuck in my mind for some reason.

  32. CabbyAZ
Personally of all the so called candidates available, I still personally fall on the side of HUCKABEE,.The liberals will try to NEIN,NEIN NEIN him to death but he has had substantial exposure in dealing with their BULLSHI#,and without a doubt would be able to turn their crapola around 180 degrees on them, and verbally ram it right back down their throats. The doctor would be my choice for VP. As such he might take on a presidential luster. At present I don’t think he has the necessary military,or foreign policy understanding that is needed by a POTUS. He is a DOCTOR and therefore I see him as trying to do surgury when a bad situation exists……which is NOW! We teeter on the brink of the abyss, and there is no longer any room for scandal or mistakes. Walker would be my second choice, but he is a youngster yet,and needs some maturity. Yes he handled the liberals in Wisconsin (TWICE) before they decided they couldn’t win against him. They DIDN’T try a THIRD time, because the total money that they wasted amounted to many millions, and now they are a little GUN SHY. har har. But still that doesn’t mean that he knows how to handle the BASTARD GOATLOVERS. That is an art form that we have yet to see anybody demonstrate that they know how to perform. Really it is quite simple ……just put lots of boots on the ground, and back them with lots of PUFFS (C-!30 GUNSHIPS), and A-10s……then proceed with a TAKE NO PRISONER POLICY.

  33. oldsailor82,
I like Huckabee too, and yes I love the way he can turn democrat $hit inside out, in words even democrats can recognize.

  34. Bob Strauss……
Yes they ARE MEDDLING in the upcoming election, but it is for the purpose of GETTING RID OF NETANYAHU,…. not getting him elected. The BASTARDS in the CAIR all know that if he is re elected they will be facing hell on earth. There is already substantial bias being caused by their meddling. NETANYAHU is probably the ONLY person on earth who can save Israel from becoming a second Jewish assault. Fortunately there are still people in America who are like Golda Maier, and are doing their part to just as she did to help her country of origin. It was Moshe Dayan, and Golda Maier who were largely responsible for Israel winning the 6 day war. They kicked the a$$es of several countries and they ALL ran for cover crying for their MOMMIES to come and save them.and…….if Netanyahu is re elected it could EASILY happen again.

  35. I hope the usurper fails!

  36. Bob Strauss…….

  37. Huckabee knows them well, and wordsmiths have to use caution around him, because Huckabee is good at countering the lies, and he has the most experience doing so.

  38. Bob, the video at this link has been pulled, but the comments are quite interesting. It WAS the Logan Act that was brought into question when U.S. Sen. Obama went to Kenya to support Olinga. Check out the following site. It all seems so long ago. I believe Alan Keyes also brought this up at the time.

  39. Huckabee is a decent guy – very socially conservative also – but there are some patriotic folks that live in Arkansas who did not like the way he governed there. He is very much the fence-mender between Dems and Repubs, and that is good to a point.

One big criticism is that he seemed to be a tax increaser and somewhat of a compromiser, but not in the mold of Pres. Reagan. I would take him any day if he is the one who gets the nomination. There is one thing certain: If there is an election in 2016 and I am still living, I WILL VOTE.

None of this stuff about not voting because both parties are for the NWO sets well with me. If we all sit on the sidelines and refuse to vote, then guess who wins hands down? NWO/communism. They have been trying to take over for a very long time, and so far they have NOT won – not yet. The battle still rages.

  40. This is not very encouraging news:

Warns America seeing ‘shortages of critical drugs’

Still, such hopes hinge on a unified Republican government, which is at least two years away, and on conservative victories in the Republican presidential primaries and a sweeping election win in the 2016 general election. In any case, Americans will have to live with Obamacare for some time.

Furthermore, conservatives still have to confront the political reality that Republicans receive much of their money from corporate lobbyists.

Viguerie goes so far as to say “Conservatives need to understand that their No. 1 opponent is not Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid or even Barack Obama.’

“It’s the Chamber of Commerce. Even the best of these young conservatives get 75 percent of their funding from K Street and corporate lobbyists,” he said.

When it comes to the Affordable Care Act, some of the biggest stakeholders donating to the Republican Party are insurance companies that enthusiastically support the new legislation.

Even Speaker Boehner’s trust holds quite a bit of insurance company stock in its portfolio. So little wonder that he is not anxiously pushing the overthrow of ACA.
