Obama high gas price solution, Use less oil, Energy costs cripple business jobs homes economy, Obama lies and warnings, If they want to build coal plants they can but it will bankrupt them

“For the well-off in this country, high gas prices are mostly an annoyance, but to most Americans they’re a huge problem, bordering on a crisis.”…Barack Obama May 2008

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,”…Barack Obama May 2008

“if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them”…Barack Obama

You were warned….

By Obama.

From WCSC February 20, 2013.

“”Gas prices continue to be an ongoing problem,” said Obama. “I’m proud of the fact that under my administration, oil production is higher than it has been in a decade or more. We have seen a doubling of fuel efficiency standards on cars over the next several years, so that is saving people money at the pump.”

The president said one of the things that must happen in order to lower gas prices is to make the “overall economy use less oil.”

“Unfortunately because of world-wide demand, oil prices are going to keep going up and down until we put in place some of the energy saving proposals I talked about in the State of the Union,” Obama said.”

From Citizen Wells July 29, 2012.

Gas prices are going back up and currently average $ 3.49 in the US. One of the biggest reasons gasoline prices have not risen further is the downturn in the US and world economies.

From the NY Times June 13, 2012.

“Mark Juull, a construction contractor for public and residential housing, has something to be thankful for in this sluggish economy: With global commodity prices falling, he’s saving $200 a week on fuel for his three trucks and finding deals on aluminum, lumber and roof shingles, which are typically made from petroleum.”

“Over the last month, global oil prices have declined by about 12 percent, while corn, copper, lead, cocoa and coffee have all dropped by 5 percent or more. Prices of corn, cocoa, oats, cotton, rubber, coffee, aluminum, silver, zinc and nickel are all more than 20 percent lower than a year ago.

Gasoline prices are falling precipitously, too, down nearly 20 cents over the last month alone, to a national average of $3.54 a gallon on Wednesday. That is nearly 45 cents below the high for the year reached in early April. The average household consumes 1,200 gallons of gasoline a year, so every dime shaved off the price of gas translates into a $120 annual savings, according to the Oil Price Information Service.

“The world economy is in risk of a recession and on that possibility, commodity prices weaken,” said Allen L. Sinai, chief global economist for Decision Economics, a consulting firm. “Lower inflation comes with weakening economies.”

Oil is among the commodities that have fallen in price the fastest despite continuing tensions in the Middle East and the tightening sanctions on Iran. OPEC production has been soaring in recent months because of mushrooming crude exports from Iraq, an almost total resumption of exports from Libya since the fall of the Qaddafi dictatorship, and a concerted drive by Saudi Arabia to push up production. At a meeting in Vienna on Thursday, OPEC is expected to decide to keep production steady despite weakening prices.”

In 2009 when Obama took office, gasoline averaged around $ 1.85 a gallon. Here is a chart of gasoline prices for the last 3 years.

A long time commenter here brought this to my attention.

From WND February 16, 2012.

“The Obama administration, despite the nation’s economic woes, effectively killed the job-producing Keystone Pipeline last month. The Arab Spring is turning the oil production of Libya and other Arab nations over to the Muslim Brotherhood. Iraq is distancing itself from the U.S. And everyone recognizes that Iran, whose crude supplies are critical to the European economy, will do anything it can to frustrate America’s strategic interests. In the face of all of this, Obama insists on cutting back U.S. oil potential with outrageous restrictions.”

“Part of Obama’s apparent war against U.S. energy independence includes a foreign-aid program that directly threatens my state’s sovereign territory. Obama’s State Department is giving away seven strategic, resource-laden Alaskan islands to the Russians. Yes, to the Putin regime in the Kremlin.

The seven endangered islands in the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea include one the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabeds surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake.

The State Department has undertaken the giveaway in the guise of a maritime boundary agreement between Alaska and Siberia. Astoundingly, our federal government itself drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side. But as an executive agreement, it could be reversed with the stroke of a pen by President Obama or Secretary Clinton.

The agreement was negotiated in total secrecy. The state of Alaska was not allowed to participate in the negotiations, nor was the public given any opportunity for comment. This is despite the fact the Alaska Legislature has passed resolutions of opposition – but the State Department doesn’t seem to care.

The imperiled Arctic Ocean islands include Wrangel, Bennett, Jeannette and Henrietta. Wrangel became American in 1881 with the landing of the U.S. Revenue Marine ship Thomas Corwin. The landing party included the famed naturalist John Muir. It is 3,000 square miles in size.

Northwest of Wrangel are the DeLong Islands, named for George Washington DeLong, the captain of USS Jeannette. Also in 1881, he discovered and claimed these three islands for the United States. He named them for the voyage co-sponsor, New York City newspaper publisher James Gordon Bennett. The ship’s crew received a hero’s welcome back in Washington, and Congress awarded them gold medals.

In the Bering Sea at the far west end of the Aleutian chain are Copper Island, Sea Lion Rock and Sea Otter Rock. They were ceded to the U.S. in Seward’s 1867 treaty with Russia.

Now is the time for the Obama administration to stand up for U.S. and Alaskan rights and invaluable resources. The State Department’s maritime agreement is a loser – it gives us nothing in return for giving up Alaska’s sovereign territory and invaluable resources. We won the Cold War and should start acting like it.”

And now we learn.

From Patriot Update July 28, 2012.

“After Obama Blocks Pipeline, China Readies $15.1B Canadian Oil Deal”

“When President Barack Obama blocked the Keystone Pipeline, Republicans said the move would encourage Canada to pursue oil deals with China instead of the United States and cede a massive chunk of North American oil assets to the communist nation.

Now, with China’s state-run oil company CNOOC poised to cut a $15.1 billion deal–the largest ever foreign acquisition for a Chinese company–with Canadian oil company Nexen, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) are in full backpedal mode.

In a draft letter to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), Sen. Schumer writes:

I respectfully urge you, in your capacity as chairman of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), to withhold approval of this transaction to ensure U.S. companies reciprocal treatment.

Similarly, Rep. Pelosi is now sounding alarms of concern. In a statement, Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hamill said:

This deal prompts great concern about the Chinese government’s continued attempts to use its state-owned enterprises to acquire global energy resources.

Saying “I told you so” offers little solace to concerned Republican lawmakers.”

This has been confirmed through records requests filed with all of North Carolina’s 100 counties. The counting is not yet complete.

North Carolina does not allow online voting, but according to Civitas, SBE staff authorized an Obama campaign website, Gottaregister.com, to use a web-based registration program. The SBE’s chief lawyer responded to the charge with a plainly disingenuous 1984-newspeak answer:

Company With Ties to the Federal Gov’t Designs Unsettling Targets for Law Enforcement Community
    Feb. 19, 2013 8:33pm Becket Adams

“What if I told you police in your town could desensitize themselves to the idea of shooting a (armed) child, pregnant woman, or young mother, for just a couple of bucks?” Reason’s Mike Riggs asks.

For less than 99 cents per target, police officers can now shoot at real-life images “designed to give [them] the experience of dealing with deadly force shooting scenarios with subjects that are not the norm during training,” according to Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.’s website.

The company calls it the “No More Hesitation” series:

There are seven targets in the series: Pregnant Woman, Older Man 1, Older Man 2, Older Woman, Young Mother, Young Girl, and Little Brother.

    Really sick and disgusting!

  6. Sueq………………..
I now call upon Micheal Connelly to prove to the American people that the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution has officially, and LEGALLY been repealed. Until that time I as a VETERAN will CONTINUE to observe ALL of the rights regarding firearms that it guarantees. If anybody tries to confiscate my firearms,or in any way IMPEDE any purchase of a firearm of my choosing I will NOT COMPLY,and I will defend my property with whatever force is necessary. Sueq………..you MUST realise that UNTIL the 2nd Amendment is LEGALLY repealed that any such order to otherwise keep VETREANS from purchasing firearms is the product of a PSYCHOPATHIC WRITER,who THINKS that he can FRIGHTEN people into believing his TWISTED BULLSHI#.

  7. CW…………
I think that most of us knew LONG ago that something is wrong with an election when you have MORE VOTES than registered voters. Yet NOBODY even had the slightest IDEA that something smelled like dead fish,an/or even give a damn, anyway. TOO BUSY DOING THEIR GRUGS ,AND WATCHING THEIR PORN.

  9. CW………
Since when is LUMBER made from petroleum. The harvesting of lumber might involve the use of a petroleum distillate at some level but I hardly believe that lumber is a PRODUCT of PETROLEUM, either distilled or direct.

  10. …………If Mr.Micheal Connelly or any of his associates attempt to use the MAIL to make fraudulant Constitutional claims regarding the purchase of firearms by VETERANS, I will personally see to it that he is prosecuted for his INTERSTATE fraud….. WHICH BY THE WAY IS A FEDERAL CRIME!

I fully realize that……… believe me! I think that you misunderstand the author’s intent, though. (Maybe mine, as well). It was a warning. His dipiction of the letters at the end of the article was kind of fuzzy on my computer. Would like to get a better look. Maybe it is merely my “old eyes”.

Anyway, I brought it over from the last thread (thanks to Mortrey), because I believe it is VITALLY important.

  12. The letters were mailed from the VA.

  13. ……….The VA is STILL a FEDERAL entity, and nI have a gut feeling that they havn’t the the slightest idea that such a mailing took place in the name of the Veteran’s Administration. If such a mailing was made and if the VA was aware of it (WHICH I DOUBT) then the VA could be complicit in interstate mail fraud. AGAIN I POINT OUT THAT THE 2ND AMENDMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN FORMALLY, OR LEGALLY REPEALED. ANY SUCH INFERRENCE TO THE EFFECT THAT VETERANS MUST COMPLY TO SUCH A MAIL ORDER FROM ANYONE WOULD BE A FRAUDULANT CLAIM,AND ANYBODY WHO WOULD PERPETRATE SUCH A FRAUD COULD BE PROSECUTED UNDER FEDERAL LAW. EVEN IF THE STATEMENT IS MADE IN JEST. I REALISE THAT WHAT CONNELLY HAD TO SAY IS ONLY SOMETHING

U.S. facing ‘real meltdown’ if it doesn’t control spending, debt

Obama has repeatedly demanded a “balanced” approach that consists of spending cuts and higher taxes for the wealthy. The president also says he and Congress have already made painful cuts of $2.5 trillion. DeMint said the president is simply not living in the real world.

    Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2013/02/demint-obama-has-lost-contact-with-reality/#4cWCuAK2pIvdwiRS.99

Sen. Jim DeMint is a great conservative, and I’m sorry that he left the Senate; however, his new position as president of The Heritage Foundation is very important.

What’s bothersome, though, is the assessment that Obama ‘has lost contact with reality.’ I know that civility has its place, but it’s about time that we call a spade a spade.

Obama’s ‘reality’ is not ours. He knows exactly what he is doing, and it is in keeping with the subversives’ plan to bring down this great nation – to bring it down to its knees, and, yes, conquer it. Subversives? Yes, communists, islamic jihadists and all other enemies of freedom.

  16. OS,
    Accordinding to Connelly…………

“The letter provides no specifics on the reasons for the proposed finding of incompetency; just that is based on a determination by someone in the VA. In every state in the United States no one can be declared incompetent to administer their own affairs without due process of law and that usually requires a judicial hearing with evidence being offered to prove to a judge that the person is indeed incompetent. This is a requirement of the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that states that no person shall “… be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law…”

Don’t shoot the messenger, daggon it! Find out if it’s actually true……and if it is………………we’ll fight it together! We all need and appreciate our veterans! Especially you! You old codger! 🙂

  17. I as a Navy VETERAN OF THE KOREAN WAR, have yet to receive such a letter from VA, but I do use the VA for some of my health care. I still have a few connections within the organisation resultant of my radiation exposure processing for my claim resulting from OPERATION CASTLE, and the infamous BRAVO test. Many TOP echelon people within the VA didn’t have the slightest idea that anything had occurred in 1954. Knowing this it is entirely possible that the VA is NOT AWARE of this mailing to veterans,in the name of the VA, if there were any letters at all. It is easy enough to verify. Further if the alleged letters are on VA stationery, it is propable that the stationery was illegally duplicated when the letter was printed. Which is another FEDERAL CRIME. It is against FEDERAL LAW for anybody to reproduce any stationery without prior authorization,or written order. I also know something else regarding such a mailing, but at this point I won’t go into it. All I will say is that when I was a contractor to DOD, I made a lot of BULK MAILINGS involving tons of printed material,in one mailing.

  18. I have not, to date, received a letter such as the one I saw published on Drudge. I can, however comment on the fact it is based on the Brady Act. The Brady Act, as we might expect, was sponsored by Chuck Schumer and signed into law by then-president Clinton. It also resulted in the (NICS) background check for purchasing firearms. This was all a product of the attempted assassination of president Reagan by a guy by the name of Hinkley. Reagan’s press secretary, Brady, was also hit by the gunfire.
The Brady Act, which is also incorporated in most state constitutions, requires, among other things, that a person’s competency be “adjudicated”. I do know that there is a competency category, within the VA system, that determines whether or not a veteran is capable of handling his own affairs, (some of these guys ( a very few) are REALLY screwed up), which includes their VA benefits (among other things), which must then be administered by the VA or other designated authority. I don’t know if it would really be a good idea for these ‘particular’ people to be in possession of firearms.
There again, I don’t really know all the details of this letter, so I cannot comment further. Knowing the VA, howevr, it might not be a bad idea to have their competency checked out every once in a while as well. Additionally, I can say that, even if all we are speculating about is true, the VA does have an appeal process available as well which, unfortunately, puts the burden of proof, back on the veteran.
I do not know if the VA rating system (which is basically a mediation system) would qualify under federal or state law as “adjudication” which is normally handled by the courts.

  19. Just a small addendum to my previous post:
I would guess that, presently, veterans (in particular armed veterans) comprise the most feared element of constitutional protections.

  22. “Lawmakers “Accidentally” Legalize Warrantless Invasion Of Gun Owners’ Home”

“Lawmakers in Washington State have accidentally written a bill permitting police to invade private homes for the purpose of confiscating “illegal” guns and accessories, such as magazines that hold over 10 rounds.

But even with the Orwellian language now removed, SB 5737 is an affront to the God-given rights of the American people. After all, the bill still states that, should one inherit an “assault weapon,” he must either dispose of it by allowing law enforcement to confiscate it or permanently disable it. It is government literally authorizing the theft or destruction of personal property. Anyone who objects will be subject to one year in prison.

As for the claim by the bill’s authors that it was a mistake, a misstep? “It’s a “misstep” because they said what they want to do. They gave away what their plan is.” The truth is, “it’s not a misstep, it’s the next step.””

  23. A relative of mine joined the military 2+ years ago. At that time, if there was a background of phychiatric problems for any reason whatsoever, and drugs were prescribed, he/she was automatically prohibited from joining. Now, I understand that many of these young men and women in military service are prescribed phychotropic drugs while serving. Many are taking multiple drugs for varied reasons (prescribed by military doctors). Isn’t this the perfect storm? Not only are they a danger to themselves and others on the battle field, but when they arrive home, they are deemed unfit to attend to their own affairs……..unfit to own a weapon. If I didn’t know better………..

With all this recent hype regarding cybersecurity, I remembered an article that came out several months ago. Perhaps some of you here might remember it. It was from a newspaper reporter (I think)

If memory serves me correctly, the reporter had gotten an “inside” tip and was putting out a warning. He/she said that on a certain Friday, Bernanke was going to shut down all US banking due to a cyberthreat. But by Monday, all assets in the banks would be unattainable. The article suggested that we would have 72 hours to try and withdraw your money before the gov’t took it over. How one could do that is still puzzling to me. I have been a bit concerned recently with all the sudden talks of cyberthreats. Could we all be in the process of getting set-up?

I put nothing past this evil regime and the mess they have gotten this country into. It looks like their only recourse would be to confiscate the currency ….a perfect reason to call martial law.

I would have to say at this point that any CO who was aware of a combatant who was drugged with suppressive drugs, yet sent that person into combat would be BEGGING FOR DEFEAT,and if that occurred ,and somebody discovered that it was because somebody was drugged, and was therefore unable to do the job he was trained to do,and as a result an entire company was slaughtered by the enemy the CO who sent this person out could and rightfully should be awarded a General Courts Martial, and be thrown out of the military service on a BCD. I think most COs are aware of this. If somebody is under the care of a psychiatrist, and is being administered suppressive drugs that person should be either hospitalised,or forbidden to follow NORMAL ROUTINE, until he/she has been evaluated. During the Pacific war,if a person demonstrated obvious psychotic behavior he was removed from his normal routine and placed in the care of a doctor. He was deemed a danger to the others in the same space. Most of these people received Section 8 discharges.

12 More Gun Manufacturers Boycott New York, Defend 2nd Amendment Rights

Last week, I posted a summary of the 6 manufacturers who are boycotting the law enforcement and government entities in New York State, due to the unfair and unconstitutional restrictions imposed by the amazingly misnamed “SAFE Act”. Later that day, a note about Magpul threatening to leave Colorado was added to the lineup.

Despite the Magpul threat, and against common sense, the Colorado House of Representatives did pass a package of FOUR gun-restricting bills. There are quite a few things wrong with these bills, which I detailed in the post “Colorado Legislature Shoots Itself In The Foot”.

In addition to the boycotts, other firearms manufacturers are advocating against the gun-grabbing laws, with easy-to-use petition letters and contact info for elected representatives. Two examples (among too many to list) are Hornady (largest independent ammo manufacturer in the world), and Smith & Wesson. Serious names, with a lot of power & market demand behind them.

The online gun/ammo vendor CheaperThanDirt.com has donated an unprecedented $ 100,000 to the Second Amendment Foundation.

Now, even more manufacturers have joined Barrett Firearms, Extreme Firepower, LaRue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Templar Custom, and York Arms in boycotting New York.

This is a long post, containing the full text of the press releases, Facebook posts, and other communiqués issued by the involved companies.
