There was a time when I had respect for Bob Schieffer and CBS News. That respect and trust has eroded for years. Recently, any respect I had for Scheiffer completely evaporated.
Recently Bob Schieffer referred to the struggle against gun proponents in the context of defeating the Nazis. At CBS, the home of Edward R. Murrow, who knew first hand the tyranny and terror of the Nazis, who took guns away from the Jews, herded them up and destroyed them. Murrow did his best to inform America and the world of these atrocities.
Bob Schieffer and CBS owe the American public and victims of Nazi atrocities an apology.

“Now onto the second part of Schieffer’s diatribe. In his rant, he equates going up against the NRA with defeating the Nazis. Seems a bit extreme. Bob Schieffer is exaggerating to such an extent, that it goes beyond simple hyperbole; it moves toward irresponsibility.
So, when actually analyzed, the information in Schieffer’s quote is nothing more than simple lies through omission, and grotesque exaggerations. It is really disturbing to me that this man is regarded as a national treasure in the news industry. He distorts the truth, and propagates gross misrepresentations; which is the exact opposite of what a journalist should do.
I would admonish Schieffer; tell him that he’s better than this garbage; but I know he’s not. Schieffer is just one of a million “journalists” who are propping this President up. Don’t believe a word he says, because he is a snake.”

Is it in their own interest and that of the stockholders so to do? The sponsor of an hour’s television program is not buying merely the six minutes devoted to commercial message. He is determining, within broad limits, the sum total of the impact of the entire hour. If he always, invariably, reaches for the largest possible audience, then this process of insulation, of escape from reality, will continue to be massively financed, and its apologist will continue to make winsome speeches about giving the public what it wants, or “letting the public decide.”

I can remember watching Edward R Murrow on CBS evening news which he anchored for quite some time. He had his own way of saying things, and he was always a to the point,and no nonsense news anchor. I can’t help wonder how people like Dan Rather managed to infiltrate CBS and subsequently poison the entire CBS NEWS organisation. Rather was a classic example of a CHAMPIONSHIP WORDSMITH,but Edward R,Murrow didn’t NEED to TWIST,or bend words…….he simply told it as it was.

……..however……..I was a life member of NRA,but I no longer look upon the organisation as being what it was in it’s earlier existence. It has been infiltrated,by people whose primary interests now lie in a monetary requium. it is also probable that the NRA is now deservant of the mounting criticism that it recieves daily.
I have disposed of my entire collection of The American Rifleman,as well. I still had every issue of the magazine from the time I paid my fee to become a life member. I am no longer a member of NRA. They have been informed that they NO LONGER represent the same beliefs that I do, and they were directed to remove my name from their list of members.

This is even being SUPPORTED by our FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,and SLIME politicians who try to make the people of America think UP IS DOWN. After reading all of the posts on this thread today, I am again reminded of my own reflections of the Holocaust as it was occurring in the early 1940’s.
At that time the only pictorial news we got was in the movie theaters – in the form of newsreels at the end of a picture. There were definitely rumors sneaking out re. Nazi atrocities, such as the one where the Nazis were making lampshades out of the skins of victims. This was totally surreal to the mind of an eight-year old. (and still is, BTW, over seven decades later.)
At the end of the war we finally heard the real truth as spoken by those who went through it and/or later observers of what remained of the death camps.
How can anyone now – and there are a number of them – deny that it ever happened? What self-deceived fools that walk among us!!!

With his knee-jerk type of politics becoming perfected to a high degree, Obama is beginning to appear clown-like as he stumbles and stomps about smashing nearly all the Bill of Rights, one upon the other, trying to accomplish by smashing one, the nullification of another. He just does not see that with their overlapping protections, they (the BIll of Rights)were designed for just such an administration as his. Your comment reminds me of my reflections upon our country’s millions who don’t even seem a bit curious or concerned about just what goes on inside of those “clinics” that kill today within their own neighborhoods. Has there ever been any “in depth” undercover investigation by, say, “60 minutes”, that would go inside and photograph the machines, the mess of the deplorable conditions, the emphasis on the filthy lucre demanded up front, or record just how death of the innocent at whatever stage of development is rationalized by the human instruments of death to the mothers who, for whatever reason, have decided to end that real human life? We won’t ever see any documentary discussing how this human flesh, bones, limbs, delicate vascular systems and developing organs, is burned, poisoned, ripped apart now will we? The head of a Utah forensics company says it’s only fair that two liberal employees were let go because liberal policies are costing his business.
A Utah business owner says he fired two employees in large part because they supported President Barack Obama.
“They were Obama supporters. We just knew they were,” Terry Lee, owner of Terry Lee Forensics, a Cedar City, Utah, digital forensics company, told The Salt Lake Tribune on Thursday.
Lee first mentioned the firings in the comments section of another story in the Tribune about a Vernal, Utah, smoothie shop owner charging “liberals” a higher price than “conservatives” for drinks. That shop owner said “liberal programs” are costing his business more, so it’s only fair that left-leaning customers should pay more.
According to the Tribune, Lee showed his support for the tactic by writing:
“Love it. We had to let two employees go to cover new Obongocare [sic] costs and increased taxes. Found two Obongo supporters and gave them the news yesterday. They wanted the idiot in the Whitehouse [sic], they reap the benefits.”

If he isn’t a legal president, then does breaking an oath really mean anything? After all, the oath states that he is defending us from himself…how convoluted is that anyway? Biden’s oath states that he is going to help the usurper do it…so what does that mean?

Yes, YES, YES !! A thousand times so. You well remember, I would suppose, the valiant efforts of some in the pro-life movement years ago to have images of aborted babies printed or aired on TV. None of the usual media would touch the truth with a ten-foot pole. It was too gory, they said, and thusly the truth has been hidden, except those who seek out videos like, “The Silent Scream” by Dr. Nathanson, who had previously been an abortionist but realized that he was killing human beings and later became a voice for pro-life.
There is no question in my mind that the “choice” doctrine has and is demoralizing the conscience of our country. How do we assume that Almighty God, the Creator and Giver of life, is going to forever hold His patience? How do we assume that our country will not be held responsible for allowing this national holocaust to continue? Unless there is national repentance, judgment is coming. We can count on it. With most normal people there is a definite,and readable character in their facial expressions. There is absolutely NO CHARACTER,or personality reflected in Soetoro’s facial expressions.
