“‘Fact Checkers’ AWOL After Obama Spokesperson Lies About Jobs Created Under Reagan and Obama”

“Obama campaign spokesperson Stepanie Cutter, appearing on MSNBC earlier this week, claimed that “over the past, you know, 27 months we’ve created 4.5 million private-sector jobs. That’s more jobs than in the Bush recovery (or) in the Reagan recovery.”

A Thursday Investor’s Business Daily editorial plaintively asked: “Where are those allegedly unbiased fact-checkers when you need them?” As will be seen shortly, the answer is “AWOL.”

First, to debunk Cutter’s lie (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics):”

“Thanks to the graph, yours truly doesn’t need to bore readers with lots of numbers. Outside of very small blips, there is virtually no point on the above graph where the trajectory of job growth under Obama is as high as that seen under Reagan, even though the Reagan-era workforce was about one-third smaller. If done on percentage of workforce, the slope of the Reagan-era ascent would be even steeper.

For those who crave some numbers — In its first 37 post-recession months, the economy under Reagan added more than 9.8 million nonfarm payroll (NFP) jobs, over 7 million more than the 2.7 million added under Obama. To replicate the Reagan-era performance, the economy under Obama would have needed to add over 14 million jobs since the recession’s end; it has really added less than 20% of that. The Reagan-era private sector margin is over 5.7 million jobs.

And of course, there’s an obvious point to be made about the unemployment rate, as IBD noted:

What’s more, after 29 months of allegedly stellar job growth under Obama, the jobless rate is still 8.3%. By this point in the Reagan and Bush jobs recoveries, the unemployment rate was 7.2% and 4.9%, respectively.
If we were one of those fact-checking organizations, we’d give Stephanie Cutter the “Lying Liar from Liersburg” award.
A Google News search done this morning on “Stephanie Cutter Reagan” (past week, not in quotes, sorted by date with duplicates) returned six items (the final result listed pre-dates Cutter’s lie). The results are from American Thinker, Real Clear Politics (2), National Review, Washington Examiner, and United Liberty.

The same search at the Associated Press’s main site returned nothing.

AP’s “Presidential Campaign Fact Check” appears to be limited to what the presidential and vice-presidential candidates say. The wire service is currently carrying its interview with President Obama, naturally headlined “AP INTERVIEW: OBAMA CALLS ROMNEY’S IDEAS ‘EXTREME’,” on its “Top Story” page. Zheesh.

As to “fact-checkers” like PolitiFact and others, nothing demonstrates that they have turned themselves into just another tool of leftist bias than the “fact” that they haven’t called out Stephanie Cutter’s lie for four days and counting while trying and failing to nitpick the Romney campaign over its true statement about women’s job losses during the recession several months ago. PolitiFact falsely claimed it was “Mostly False.”

Oh, by the way, as James Pethoukouis noted in his second crucifixion of Cutter’s comment (his original post relating to Reagan is here), “both the Reagan and Bush recoveries were stronger than the current recovery under President Obama.””


Obviously, congress is mostly at fault. The Democrats controlled both houses beginning in 2007 to create a “perfect storm” of failing liberal policies with the help of Obama.

Consider the following:

Reagan inherited an economic mess from Carter. Many of you remember the long gas lines and 18 percent mortgage rates from the Carter years.

In January 1983, 2 years after Reagan took office, the unemployment rate was 10.4 percent. In January 1989, when reagan left office, the rate was 5.4 percent.

When George Bush took office in January 2001, the unemployment rate was 4.2 percent. When the Democrats took control of congress in January 2007, the rate was 4.6 percent.

So, the impact of a Democrat congress with the addition of Barack Obama in January 2009 led to an unemployment rate of 9.1 percent in January 2011.

The Republicans took control of the house in January 2011. The stated unemployment rate is 8.3 percent but would be much higher if so many folks had not dropped out of the labor force.

    The smartest thing that the Repubs did for the convention was to put on display on large TV screens was “The Debt Clock” displaying the debt of the actual time the convention is being run and the Total Debt which is reaching $16 Trillion. !6,000,000,000,000,000.00 OR ABOUT $320,000.00 per person.     Just as with any awakening and change – it takes time – it’s a process especially with a vast amount of people asleep for so long. To use biblical people – the egyptians took many years in captivity before moses was born, grew up 40 years (went through all his issues and fear of change and stepping forward as he was meant to, confronting pharoah) BEFORE there day came to leave egypt.

    Though he may be NWO too, Romney, is likely a step to the side or at least some slow down for 4 years instead of the continued huge leap over the edge like we are experiencing with BO.

    My research is also indicating NWO is slowly and systematically being diminished. Maybe it will never lose it power 100% but it will be weakened because it is having difficulty remaining hidden in plain sight. The world is discovering who the NWO players are and it is revolting.

    So in light of that if the NWO slowly being exposed, if Romney’s loyalty were to be challenged by NWO over America, I truly believe Romney would choose America. Obama would choose Islam and has.

I don’t know why people allow themselves to be hoodwinked by such false propaganda? But it sometimes goes a long way. The whole German nation was seduced by that kind of propaganda. The jihadist Muslim world lives by weirdness and propaganda. Some people are attracted by it, for whatever reason.

    You are also fully correct and I agree with you. When referring to J.S. and her comments, she was not always like that in all fairness. She [J.S.] had initially begun posting at C.W. very early on and was actually quite nice, very respectful, and like so many others – had questions pertaining to reasons Obama not being exposed, ect…

    However, that all changed and so did her behavior when she dabbled and eventually bought into the R.A.P. kool-aid party, whereby they declared themselves electorates, voted for a new President (Tim), then themselves as Senators and House persons, declaring they are marching on Capital Hill to arrest and remove current members on various weeks, days, hours and the new President Tim had full control of the U.S. Military and they stood by him, as well as R.A.P. President Tim had told them he had financial authority to prevent all bankruptcy’s in the United States, 9/11 was an inside job, and on and on, and on some more. Of course, all a lie, all of Tim’s followers had been hoodwinked. During such time of getting deeper into R.A.P., is when her attacks on everyone and no longer the J.S. everyone once knew, became belligerent and derogatory, using the words she does – if you don’t believe in R.A.P. President Tim, and all else as humans are therefore ignorant.

    Although after that failure of R.A.P. and its exposure as a false kool-aid band of dim-wits of followers – closely related to Jim Jones escapade – they fairly disappeared on the blogging world.

    They [failed former radical R.A.P. members] then latched onto Ron Paul after he made his public comments blaming Bush and accusing America as being the ones behind 9/11 rhetorically claiming the White House was actually “cheering” the attacks on American soil,(perhaps tipping a glass of champagne) that R.A.P. members found a new home, a new person to stand behind. They all transitioned to Ron Paul. At that point, R.A.P. was Back and on the Blog again. Not because they believed in Ron Paul per se, but rather because Kool-aid Kid R.A.P. President Tim had failed them and Ron Paul was their new savior to justify their previous failures and cause. Thus the filth of derogatory language persists in personal attacks once again.

    You will find Dean M., that on occasion, many of the former R.A.P. members posting on Ron Paul’s site, will come over here after J.S. posts a comment – to support her comment in team effort.

    Your question would take many books to answer and is not quite a simple one. I will say this though, the NWO is not working out as planed so many, many decades ago. It is failing, Europe being the key economic indicator.

    One of the other indicators truefreedom is when Greenspan in an interview pertaining to the European economic failures, is when he described that they [world banking systems, Leaders, ect. ] the joining of the Unions towards a one world monetary currency (a quite complex plan) beginning in Europe as the example of success (which has now failed), he [Greenspan] stated they did not take into account individual country cultures within such plan. Primary reason it is and has failed.

    This NWO ideology relies primarily on the first step, currency. And that has failed. Of course there are many other factors, I am just pointing out the failure of the main experiment, which has lost.

    You are up very late (or should I say very early?)! 🙂 Your review and analysis of the R.A.P. episode is very astute and brings back many memories.

    I believe you are very correct in your observation that many of those let down and disappointed in failed promises then latched onto Paul. Those people’s allegiance to him became almost abnormal and irrational, and I do believe that in their case much of it was the result of the R.A.P. blowup. Such a psychological upheaval can have a terrible affect upon a person’s disposition and cause latent anger, frustration, etc.

    Dean M., there are many policies of Ron Paul that I agree with, especially concerning fiscal matters, but certainly share your feelings about his stance re. Israel. For that reason, as well as some of his libertarian views about legalization of drugs, etc., I could not support him.

    As far as multitudes having been seduced by such propaganda, like Germany and and now Islamic jihadism, this about sums it up: For so many, “It is easier to believe a lie than to believe the truth.”

  29. I wanted to state my opinion pertaining to Representative Todd Akin’s failed and ridiculously public blundered comments pertaining to “Legitimate rape, women’s bodies somehow blocked an unwanted pregnancy.”

    I don’t believe after many reviews of his comments that he was actually speaking for 100% of cases of rape and it was taken out of content with the media and many others to follow. I also don’t believe he should have made any public statements at all pertaining to the issue as a Congressman. I do believe his partial comment has been drastically taken out of place. But I will an must defend a portion of his statement with facts. Something the GOP and Rove are ignoring.

    It is my opinion that Rep. Akin’s was attempting to explain that in legitimate rape cases, there are proven medical cases supporting lower pregnancy’s. However, and again, he shouldn’t be the one explaining this to the public.

    For example. In thousands of Medical Studies, it is a proven fact that any woman under “stress” drastically lowers their chances of pregnancy. Is a legitimate Rape victim under such stress? Absolutely. Does it mean some will not get pregnant because of it? No. In thousands of other proven medical cases conducted, the same is true once pregnancy is established. If under duress and stress, the likelihood of miscarriage is 3 times as likely. The medical science has dubbed this as spontaneous abortion, aka miscarriage.

    Are Rape victims under high stress? Absolutely. Do some go through major chemical body changes because of it? Absolutely. Do many once pregnant have spontaneous abortions (miscarriages), absolutely. Does it happened to every victim? Absolutely not. No more than it happens to all persons under stress purposely attempting to have a pregnancy, such as married couples.

    Was rep. Akin’s somewhat correct in his statement? Yes. Should he have covered this medical topic? No. But he wasn’t wrong either. I don’t think he expressed himself correctly, nor will be given the chance, as the GOP has already crucified him, which is unfortunate considering the GOP is suppose to stand behind medical facts pertaining to their abortion stance.

    There’s my brief 2 cents for what its worth.

The only other speakers to follow “To Be Announced” will be Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Mr. Romney himself, suggesting that the unnamed guest may appear during the 10 p.m. hour when the networks all will be broadcasting the convention. Convention planners have spread the announcement of the speakers for this week’s gathering across a few weeks, slowly revealing the names of those who landed coveted slots. But until Monday, it appeared that all the blanks had been filled in, as most high-profile Republicans already had speaking roles or had explained their absence from the convention.     Read your exchange Over the last day. Sadly, as the liberals have well demonstrated, there is almost no way to grasp what is truth from propaganda anymore. I imagine it was the same for the German people in the 1930’s with Hitler and the democratic socialists of Germany (instead of America).     The kids will be getting up in a couple of hours, I’m going to stick it out and wait until the wake and see them off. I didn’t get to see them yesterday as they were off to school before I woke and asleep after I came home this morning. I am going to make them some pancakes for breakfast, see them off to school and let the wife sleep in so she doesn’t have to get up, then go crawl in bed with her and rest for a few hours.

    Psalm 33:12 states: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.”

    We should ask ourselves, however, whether the Lord is still America’s God—or, like the children of Israel, are we now pursuing other gods? Although our Founding Fathers based America’s important documents—such as the Declaration of Independence—on Christianity and the Bible, through indifference, ignorance, and neglect of biblical principles, we are in danger of losing our precious freedoms. However, it is yet possible to reclaim what we’ve already lost if God’s people will awake and rise up.

    As an immigrant—now a naturalized citizen—to this great country, I would like to share some of my concerns for America.”

    “We want the America of which the Supreme Court in 1844 said, “The Bible, and especially the New Testament [should] be read and taught as divine revelation in the [schools, otherwise] … where can the purest principles of morality be learned so clearly or so perfectly as from the New Testament?”

    We want the America of which New York Supreme Court Chief Justice Kent said in 1811, “We are a Christian people, and the morality of the country is deeply engrafted upon Christianity, and not upon the doctrines or worship of those imposters [other religions].”

    We want the America of which the Supreme Court of New York in 1811 also said, “Whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends manifestly to the dissolution of the civil government … because it tends to corrupt the morals of the people, and to destroy good order.”

    We want the America of which Daniel Webster said, “The principles of all genuine liberty and of wise laws and administrations, are to be drawn from the Bible and sustained by its authority. The man, therefore, who weakens or destroys the divine authority of that book may be an accessory to all of the public disorders which society is doomed to suffer.”

    Webster’s words are all too prophetic. And many immigrants, myself included, want to see a return to the America Webster’s words described—an America that looks to the Bible for guidance and direction. Today, far from heeding the words of earlier courts, our present-day courts have been busily striking at the Christian foundation of our nation. Moreover, the education bureaucracy is busy rewriting American history.

    Growing up in Egypt, I had a better grasp of American history and the Christian basis for its foundation than most students in American schools. Today, American children learn little about actual American history as a wide variety of grievance groups have conquered prime space in our children’s history textbooks.

    Textbook content is often influenced by pressure groups that inflict their agendas on children, taking up valuable space for feminism, environmentalism, Islamic advocacy, and other special interests.

    The most disturbing trend in textbooks is their treatment of Islam, where misinformation is used to portray it in the most favorable light. Islamic extremism is glossed over—even to the point of omitting the terrorists’ Islamic faith when covering the 9/11 attacks—and jihad is explained as simply an internal struggle to please God.

    ===> Such historical revisions should be repulsive to all Americans, but especially to Christians since they undermine the very principles on which America was founded.

    Who is responsible for those actions—and what can we do to change the situation? A leading educator clarified the issue when he noted, “If a foreign government had done to the nation’s schools what we have done, we would have considered it an act of war.”

    The media, too, does its best to make anyone who says positive things about the God of our Founding Fathers appear fanatic or stupid. People—especially the media—are careful not to say anything negative about Mohammad or Buddha or Krishna, but a person can blaspheme the name of the Lord continually, and no one will consider him politically incorrect. Such blasphemy is deemed part of a new era of enlightenment. In reality, it signals a return to the dark ages.

    For a moment, let’s look back at history. On July 4, 1776, one of the most important documents in the history of the United States was signed. This document marked the birth of this great nation, which, under God, was destined for world leadership. Although this document was called the Declaration of Independence, it was really a Declaration of Dependence. While America’s forefathers sought independence from the British crown, they signed a declaration of dependence on Almighty God. Further, while they desired freedom from foreign domination, they chose to surrender to the Creator of the universe. Their intentions are clearly stated in the closing words of the Declaration of Independence:

    “With firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

    The 56 courageous men who signed this important document knew their words represented far more than high-sounding rhetoric. They realized that if they succeeded, they would experience years of hardship and struggle to maintain this new democratic phenomenon. If they failed, they would face a hangman’s noose as traitors.

    These men were willing to pay the ultimate price because they believed that this country was, as the Pledge of Allegiance states, “One nation under God.” They knew that to be born free is a privilege, and to die free is an awesome responsibility. In light of the dedication of these men, don’t we have the responsibility to uphold the standards they set in place?”

    What began as a simple going-away party on Barracks Street in 1972 has evolved into one of New Orleans’ premier yearly events: Southern Decadence. Held annually in the French Quarter over Labor Day weekend, this celebration of GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) culture has begun attracting as many as 125,000-135,000 participants from all over the world in recent years.

    This year’s Decadence, the 41st, runs from Wednesday, August 29 through Monday, September 3 (Labor Day). Dozens of related fun events are scheduled over the fest’s six-day stretch.

    Inspector General (IG) draft report on Fast and Furious heaps blame on the Phoenix-based staff of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) according to those familiar with the document.

    Your post about Southern Decadence reminds me of a time when a dear friend and her daughter decided to rendezvous in New Orleans for a few days over the Labor Day weekend. They hadn’t seen each other for quite awhile, had never been to N.O., and were looking for a good time.

    The entire getaway turned out to be terrible – so bad that they couldn’t believe it, because the militant gays were out in full force and behaving very badly. One was posed as a statue, and as the daughter passed by he “came to life”, jumped down at her, and nearly scared her to death.

    Apparently Isaac is going to put a damper (no pun intended) on their crazy orgies this year. With such goings on becoming more and more prevalent, some say that God will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

For all those struggling with voting for the lesser of two evils… meaning that if you vote for the lesser, it is STILL EVIL, (I’ve heard this argument over and over), please note that we’ve ALWAYS had this choice, even from the very BEGINNING. Remember 1776? Well of course not, but you’ve read about it I’m sure. Many representatives opposed slavery, yet signed on to the Declaration of Independence, nonetheless.

    Romney is not a perfect candidate. But I believe he is a decent man. He doesn’t hate America. He doesn’t hate Capitalism. He doesn’t hate Israel. He doesn’t hate the unborn.

    Maybe if Romney is elected, many of us who’ve not slept well for nearly 4 years will get some much needed rest…

    The award — which touted the company’s “generous health care coverage” — was to have been presented Aug. 13.

    But Kniech, whose position is unaffiliated with any political party, pulled it when she discovered the company’s Catholic owners had received from a federal judge a temporary reprieve from the employer-sponsored health care mandate on the grounds that it infringed on religious liberty.

    The company’s owners, represented by a coalition of Christian attorneys, argued they believed it would be a sin and immoral for them to provide abortifacient drugs, contraception or sterilization through the mandated health insurance coverage.

    “Since Obama can’t run on his dismal failures with jobs and the economy; his devastating $5 trillion in new debt creation; his radical energy plans that have resulted in a hidden tax of thousands of dollars on the poor and middle class in higher gas and utility bills; or his pathetic foreign policy that has diminished America in the eyes of the world and made the Middle East a far more dangerous place; he and his socialist cabal (aka Democratic Party) have enacted a strategy to defeat and demonize fiscal conservatives (aka “sane people”) by distracting voters and instilling fear. The heart of that strategy is name calling, specifically trying to paint Romney/Ryan as “extreme.” Obama’s strategy is to paint Mitt as “extreme”…and if it doesn’t work…then say it again…and again…and again.

    Well, I have some advice for Mitt Romney and the GOP: Take control of the word “extreme.” Take ownership. Make it your word. Accept it. Wear it proudly. Put it right back in Obama’s face. Point out that extreme times call for extreme measures.

    If I was Romney, here is what I’d say:

    If instituting an economic plan to reduce Obama’s obscene unemployment rate over 8% for 42 straight months is extreme…if wanting to put the 30 million Americans out of work, or underemployed, back to work is extreme…then call me extreme.

    If reviving an economy where U.S. manufacturing activity has plummeted to the lowest level in 3 years, and California tax revenues plummeted in July by more than half a billion dollars (in one month, for one state), and demand for petroleum products just declined to 1995 levels, is extreme….then call me extreme.

    If creating an environment to stimulate and encourage new business start-ups, which under Obama have hit a 30 year low, is extreme… then call me extreme.

    If requiring welfare recipients to actually work, or at least be required to look for work is extreme… then call me extreme.

    If creating policies to help the 46 million Americans now on food stamps in this Obama economy get jobs and stand on their own…then call me extreme.

    If passing a budget, after Obama hasn’t passed one in four years, to begin to deal with $115 trillion in debt and unfunded liabilities, that without immediate action will drown our children and grandchildren is extreme…then call me extreme.

    If implementing a plan to reform Medicare, so it will actually be there for the next generation is extreme…then call me extreme.

    The fact is disaster is upon us. We are experiencing UNIMAGINABLE economic wreckage, crisis and collapse from coast to coast. The economy is in total collapse. The net worth of the average American is down a whopping 40%. And, that’s with the Fed running the printing presses day and night, so we can pay for stimulus…bailouts…keeping interest rates at zero…and pumping money into the banks and stock market.

    The answers to saving America, the U.S. economy, the American Dream, and our children’s future are actually simple and commonsense. They have worked throughout history. Here they are:

    Dramatically cut the size, scope and power of government; cut spending; cut entitlements; cut taxes; cut government rules and regulations that smother, damage and destroy businesses, prevent start-ups, and kill jobs; reform Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid; reform public employee pensions; stop the wars (we can no longer afford to police the world); end or reform the Fed; end bailouts and stimulus; end the Democratic obsession with green energy and high speed rail (let the economy pick winners and losers); encourage oil and energy exploration (ie drill, drill, drill and frack, frack, frack); encourage job creation by small business and the private sector by getting government out of the way and by rewarding and celebrating job creators instead of demonizing and punishing them; term limit politicians; institute school choice and roll back the power of teachers unions unions.

    Extreme times call for extreme measures. If these policies are defined by Obama and his socialist cabal as extreme, then God Bless Extreme.

    And let’s all pray for a double dose of it.”

    “Last Thursday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad posted on his website his most recent anti-Semitic tirade, saying global forces should join together to annihilate Israel. Meanwhile, in Orlando, Fla., President Barack Obama had a takeout plate of pulled pork and rice.

    The Jerusalem Post reported Ahmadinejad as saying, “Anyone who loves freedom and justice must strive for the annihilation of the Zionist regime in order to pave the way for world justice and freedom.”

    Those words came from the same international leader who called the Holocaust a myth and entreated that Israel should be “wiped off the page of time” in a 2005 speech.

    One might think Ahmadinejad’s caustic influence would play out with only extremists, until one realizes that his words preceded Iran’s annual “Quds Day” (Aug. 17), a nationwide event and national holiday (since 1979) during which massive crowds condemn Israel and the U.S. with chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”

    “Obama’s foreign-relations political waffling is not only a dismal failure but also a detriment to peace, stability and safety in the Middle East. One day he coddles Israelis, assuring them that America will stand by them. The next day he is the pro-Palestinian in chief, dissing Israel’s president to the French president. (Remember when Obama belittled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a hot-mic moment after French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he “cannot bear Netanyahu; he’s a liar”? Obama replied, “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him even more often than you.”)

    In 2010, The Jerusalem Post reported that only 10 percent of Jewish Israelis really believed that Obama is “more pro-Israeli” than pro-Palestinian.

    With Egypt granting the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power, Syria percolating with chemical weapons — which some are saying were possibly smuggled from Saddam Hussein’s alleged surplus — Hezbollah perched in Lebanon and Hamas working internal affairs, Israel remains in the cross hairs of the Middle East thugs.

    Imagine the volatility that will reign in the Middle East during the next four years! And 43 percent of Americans really want to re-elect a U.S. president who, rather than come to the active aid of our greatest ally in the Middle East, disses Israeli leaders on French soil?

    ===> Mark my words. America could very well aid and abet World War III with a leader like […] Obama who is in his second term. Foreign dictators and other extremists are praying U.S. citizens re-elect Obama. The truth is that the world’s stability is buckling under the lethal combination of a militant Ahmadinejad and a passive Obama — one pushing for the annihilation of Israel and the other sitting back and waiting for it to happen, one creating the bomb and the other sitting back and watching while the fuse is lit. <===

    "Fellow Americans, America and the world need a U.S. president who will restore our economy and steady chaos in the world, not usher in Armageddon with his anti-Semitic, noncommittal, conciliatory, laissez-faire leadership. The very personage of the U.S. president should emanate deterrence, not indifference.

    “[…] Barack Obama’s recent business-related comments in Virginia (“If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that; somebody else made that happen”) sounded more communistic than capitalistic, especially because the “somebody” to whom Obama referred was in fact the U.S. government.”

    “In fact, the entirety of Obama’s speech points to the prize in partnership with the federal government. Obama believes that it is not your business!

    Obama’s statements shouldn’t come as any surprise, as he has declared emphatically from early in his presidency that “only government” is our savior, and he has supported his socialistic platform through multiple company and corporate bailouts. To Obama, government is your business partner; government is your savior; government is your hero; government is the economic caped crusader who swoops down like the Dark Knight to save your soul, sales and pocketbook.

    In fact, Obama’s belief in government partnership — indeed, ownership — is at the heart of his justification to increase taxes on couples who make more than $250,000 a year, a levy that an Ernst & Young study just showed would cost 710,000 U.S. jobs.

    Obama’s business comments were an assault on free enterprise and entrepreneurialism. They were not a gaffe; they represent, at the very least, his preferred philosophy for a European type of socialism. The Wall Street Journal even editorialized that the president is “subordinating to government the individual enterprise and risk-taking that underlies prosperity.”

    The truth is that Obama’s statements in Virginia were in no way reminiscent of great capitalists and innovators. On the other hand, his words did smack of a few other societal manipulators:

    “Society does not consist of individuals, but expresses the sum of interrelations, the relations within which these individuals stand.” — Karl Marx

    “Production itself changed from a series of individual into a series of social acts, and the products from individuals to social products. The yard, the cloth, the metals that now came out of the factory were the joint product of many workers through whose hands they had successfully to pass before they were ready. (No one person could say of them: ‘I made that; this is my product.’)” — Friedrich Engels

    “All our lives we fought against exalting the individual, against the elevation of the single person, and long ago we were over and done with the business of a hero, and here it comes up again: the glorification of one personality. This is not good at all.” — Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

    “Comrades, we must abolish the cult of the individual decisively, once and for all.” — Nikita Khrushchev

    “We must affirm anew the discipline of the Party, namely: (1) the individual is subordinate to the organization; (2) the minority is subordinate to the majority; (3) the lower level is subordinate to the higher level; and (4) the entire membership is subordinate to the Central Committee. Whoever violates these articles of discipline disrupts Party unity. — Mao Zedong

    And now we can add these words to the lineup: “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that; (the federal government) made that happen.” — Barack Obama

    To the contrary, America’s Founding Fathers declared an independence from governmental tyranny and taxation over personal business and welfare.

    For them, America was a republic founded upon “We the People” and individuals’ rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Government was charged with the sole role of protector, not proprietor, of those “inalienable” rights with which all humans are endowed by their Creator.

    Thomas Jefferson explained, “The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.”

    And Benjamin Franklin said: “The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.”

    Dare I say that if they or any of our other founders were alive today, they would say, “If you want a business, you build it. You make it happen.”

    “Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) set high stakes in an offered “deal” with President Obama on Friday.

    Obama’s campaign isn’t backing down on requests to see Mitt Romney’s tax returns — on Friday, campaign manager Jim Messina offered to stop asking if he releases five years’ worth — but the freshman Florida congressman had a counteroffer for Obama.

    “Show us your sealed college records and Operation Fast and Furious White House memos, and we will all show you our tax returns,” West wrote on his Facebook page Friday.

    It’s not an original offer; businessman and Romney supporter Donald Trump has been suggesting the same thing via Twitter.

    “@MittRomney shouldn’t give additional tax returns until @BarackObama gives his passport records, college records & applications,” Trump tweeted earlier in the day.

    Washington State housewife asks the Court to check Barack Obama’s I.D.

    How many times have you been asked that question? “Can I see your I.D.?” And what do you do? You pull it out of your wallet or purse and show it. In Obama’s case the I.D. he’s using wouldn’t get him past the bouncer at a cheap bar. Not even if he was a pretty girl. It’s a lousy fake.

    So how did it get him in to the White House? And how did it get him on the ballot? That’s what Linda Jordan wants to know.

    You can’t get an I.D. without a birth certificate and a law enforcement agency[1] has determined that Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery. Jordan agrees. “I’ve cut up better fake I.D., much to the dismay of a “clever” teen. Obama’s birth certificate would never pass the “Mom test”.”

    Jordan, a housewife and mother from Seattle, took Obama up on his offer to look at his purported birth certificate. [2] “It’s a forgery. Plain and simple. You don’t have to be an expert to see that. This forgery proves nothing except that someone forged a birth certificate and Barack Obama is using it.”

    The election challenge, to keep Obama’s name off the 2012 Washington State General Election ballot, was filed today in Thurston County Superior Court. (No.12-2-01763-5)

    It is scheduled for a hearing on August 29, 2012 in Judge McPhee’s courtroom.
