I believe that the best way that we can honor fallen soldiers on Memorial Day, or any other day, is to do our duty to maintain our system of government and laws that they fought to protect. It was fitting today to connect more dots together about Obama’s past and why he may have refused to fill out and submit a Selective Service Application.
We have in recent months obtained stronger corroboration of Obama claiming to be from Kenya in the past. Why would he do so?

“On the previous FOIA response, they stated that it was filed on September 4, 1980. In my second request I mentioned that Obama could not have filed it in Hawaii on September 4, 1980 as he was attending Occidental College in California, the classes of which commenced August 24, 1980.”
The 1983 Obama article in the Columbia University Sundial takes on new meaning with the strong Kenya references we now know of.
“Also operating out of Earl Hall Center, Students Against Militarism was formed in response to the passage of registration laws in 1980. An entirely student
-run organization, SAM casts a wider net than ARA, though for the purposes of effectiveness, they have tried to lock in on one issue at a time.
“At the heart of our organization is an anti-war focus”, says junior Robert Kahn, one of SAM’s fifteen or so active members. “From there, a lot of issues
shoot forth – nukes, racism, the draft, and South Africa. “We have been better organized when taking one issue at a time, but we are always cognizant of

Robert believes students tacitly support non-registrants, though the majority did not comply. “Several students have come up to our tables and said that had
they known of the ineffectiveness of prosecution, they would not have registered.” A measure of such underlying support is the 400 signatures, on a petition protesting the Solomon Bill, which SAM collected the first four hours it appeared. Robert also points out that prior to registration, there were four
separate bills circulation in the House proposing a return to the draft, but none ever got out of committees, and there have not been renewed efforts. An
estimated half-million registrants can definitely be a powerful signal.
Prodding students into participating beyond name signing and attending events is tricky, but SAM members seem undaunted. “A lot of the problem comes not
from people’s ignorance of the facts, but because the news and statistics are lifeless. That’s why we search for campus issues like the Solomon bill that
have direct impact on the student body, and effectively link the campus to broader issues.” By organizing and educating the Columbia community, such
activities lay the foundation for future mobilization against the relentless, often silent spread of militarism in the country. “The time is right to tie
together social and military issues, “Robert continues, “and the more strident the Administration becomes, the more aware people are of their real interests.
The belief that moribund institutions, rather than individuals are at the root of the problem, keep SAM’s energies alive. “A prerequisite for members of an
organization like ours is the faith that people are fundamentally good, but you need to show them. And when you look at the work people are doing across the
country, it makes you optimistic.
Perhaps the essential goodness of humanity is an arguable proposition, but by observing the SAM meeting last Thursday night, with its solid turnout and
enthusiasm, one might be persuaded that the manifestations of our better instincts can at least match the bad ones. Regarding Columbia’s possible
compliance, one comment in particular hit upon an important point with the Solomon bill, “The thing we need to do is expose how Columbia is talking out of
two sides of its mouth.”
Indeed the most pervasive malady of the collegiate system specifically, and the American experience generally, in that elaborate patterns of knowledge and
theory have been disembodied from individual choices and government policy. What the members of ARA and SAM try to do is infuse what they have learned about the current situation, bring the words of that formidable roster on the face of Butler Library, names like Thoreau, Jefferson, and Whitman, to bear on the
twisted logic of which we are today a part. By adding their energy and effort in order to enhance the possibility of a decent world, they may help deprive
us of a spectacular experience – that of war. But then, there are some things we shouldn’t have to live through in order to want to avoid the experience.”

My wife’s older brother is buried there at Arlington. He was a young lieutenant who died on his first mission in Vietnam. He was against the war, but felt that serving first would add meaning to his protest. He gave up his life trying to pull his wounded point-man to safety.
He could have gotten a deferment for a year or two. He had already been accepted into a six year program at Harvard and moved there when his number came up. His widow never re-married. She still lives in Boston. His dad was a WWII Navy commander and worked for Wild Bill Donovan. He could have easily asked for an non-combat assignment. He didn’t think that way.
His younger brother was not allowed to go to Nam after his brother’s death, so he spent his time in Korea flying choppers.
My uncle was a paratrooper in Korea. His second jump in combat landed him in a POW camp for about two years.There wasn’t much left of him when he came home. He used to tell me ” I am wild and woolie, and full of fleas, but I have never been curried above my knees.” He witnessed the nuclear testing at Enewetok Atoll.
I served from January 1971 to January 1974 and again in 1982. I have been at Arlington for the Changing of the Guard.
When I think of “This Bastard”, all I want to do is puke.

What I discovered was that on January 26th, 2011 no less than 3 bills were introduced into committee to specifically allow law enforcement agencies access to vital records for the purpose of criminal investigations.

Ok, I’m having trouble posting. This is time 3 so hopefully it will get through. Old Salt, I have valued your posts over the last 2-3 years. You are NOT Rude and Crude. You are honest & forthright with a kick in the pants kind of Common Sense that seems to be so lacking in society today, & which worries and scares ‘spitless’ those on the left should your message get out. I’ve noticed the same from other vets in here and I dearly love you all for it because it is fast becoming obsolete in today’s culture.
For the record, I’m not a young thing but rather am a mother of 3 grown children, grandmother of 7 and wife of over 40+ years to the same man. This isn’t about me but rather I wish to honor all those who have fought for this great nation……every single one of you. I honor my dad who served in the Navy nearly 30 years and died while I was still in my 20s. I honor my ancestors going back to the RW clear down to my uncles, brother and son who served and did their part……not for honor or glory, but for love of country. This isn’t a black and white thing (I resent being called a racist and to tell the truth, my dad would have kicked me a new one clear into next week if he’d have seen any kind of racism coming from his children), but rather it’s a red, white and blue thing. God Bless every single one of you who have served this country and the freedom it protects for ALL under our Constitution (regardless of race or ethnic background).

Obama refuses to register for the draft, and then realizes in college that he can’t get student aid without registering for the draft unless he claims after the fact that he was born outside the country. Later, when it’s discovered he has no selective service card on file, they forge one to cover for him, and then the Cold Case Posse exposes that card as a forgery. In the meantime, Obama still can’t legally prove where he was born or what happened to his Indonesian citizenship.

It is entirely possible that your father’s and my path crossed at the Eniwetok Atomic testing in the Marshall Islands. I was there for the 1954 infamous Bravo test,and personally witnessed the detonation which ended up contaminating over 7000 square miles of the test area,and eventually necessitating the relocation of about 700 Micronesian natives to other islands. The test was supposed to yeild about 7 megaton. But because of a series of miscommunications,and other human errors the test actually yeilded OVER 15 megaton. As such NONE of the support fleet was in the correct position for a blast of that size,and several of these ships were heavily contaminated as a result.The US government is STILL paying for the Bravo blunder. Interestingly a few years back the USGS conducted a study of the bottom of the lagoon where the Bravo test was carried out. They found that the bottom is still VERY HOT and literally plastered by Cesium 137. Given the half life of Cesium it is probable that the radioactivity will go on for a very long period of time. I tend to think that while the AEC might have learned a little about nuclear weapons they actually MURDERED a geographical area in the Marshall Islands. It is doubtful that the area will EVER again be as it was before the nuclear testing began at Bikini in 1946.
Just wondering if Obama’s claim of graduating magna cum laude is the same kind of “factchecking error” that led to him being listed by his literary agent as born in Kenya. The only place it appears is in a bio that would have had to have been provided by Obama.

His mother was never in the hospital, they don’t know which hospital it was, his grandmother said he was born in Kenya. It all wouldn’t matter except if you’re born in a foreign country, you’re not allowed to be president so this is a minor detail. So the publisher comes out last week and made this statement and said we made a mistake. Is it an important thing? In a way it is because it says you’re not allowed to be president if you’re not born in the country. I’m not fanning flames. This is something that came out last week, a lot of people are questioning his birth certificate, questioning the authenticity of his birth certificate. I’ve been known as being a very smart giep (not sure what a giep is… will have to listen again) for a long time. I don’t consider myself birther or not birther but there are some major questions here and the press just refuses to cover it. Now, if that were somebody else, they’d be covering it and throwing people out of office but they don’t want to cover it. So it’s interesting. There is a weird — in that same report that was on some of the conservative web sites and i haven’t even confirmed it, Donald, but there was a quote from one of his debates when he was running for state senator, I believe and one of his opponents said, well, this was at the time when the Kenya thing was still on some of his biographies or something and the guy said you weren’t even born here, he said it doesn’t matter if I’m born here, i wasn’t running for president at the time — there was a quote, from him. But the question is whether there was a time in his life where he thought it was more attractive to be a more national type guy and maybe didn’t change the impression that he wasn’t. I don’t know. Joe, just to finish off, a lot of people want to see his college transcripts. They’re not looking at his marks, his grade, was he a good student. they want to see what they say about place of birth. Those transcripts have disappeared. nobody seems to be able to get them. i was able to get him to produce a birth certificate, if it was a correct birth certificate. A lot of people have very serious doubts. they want to see his college transcripts because they want to see what is he saying about place of birth. What did he say? Well, he is really stone walling it, to use an old nixon term, he is really stone walling it when it comes to — he just doesn’t want to give those transcripts. What does he say at Columbia and Harvard and his other college where he supposedly did not get good marks and got into Columbia. What does he say about place of birth? One other thing, the hospital. the mother was never in the hospital. These are minor details but they can’t find any records that the mother was in the hospital. So it’s a tough situation.

It would be one thing if Dr. Paul was even close in the total popular vote count, but he is only getting about 11%. The above statement is correct and valid if you have two very close candidates in the popular vote realm. That is not the case with Dr. Paul. Therefore this line of reasoning is less about the reasoning behind our “Representative” or “Republican” democracy and more akin to the Bolshevik revolution where a very small, but extremely organized group was able to impose their will upon the rest of their country.
