Michigan primary results, February 29, 2012, Romney wins, Santorum second, Paul third, Gengrich fourth, Mitt Romney winner

From Flint News February 29, 2012.

“Just 302 votes kept Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney from winning Genesee County in Tuesday’s Michigan primary contest, an area that history shows will be all but impossible for him to win in a general election should he become the GOP nominee.

Romney won his home state Tuesday while losing the heavily Democratic Genesee County to Rick Santorum. Santorum got 12,833 votes here, or 39 percent, to Romney’s 12,581 votes, or 38 percent, according to preliminary results.

Romney’s loss here comes despite his winning other industrial, blue-collar counties like Wayne, Saginaw and Bay.

Romney’s Michigan primary win, even if by only a few percentage points, “really gives him some renewed hope for Super Tuesday,” said Bill Ballenger, editor of the Inside Michigan Politics newsletter.

“You can sit around and scoff at the idea that he didn’t run up a huge margin. … Based on everything he went through. … I think it was huge,” Ballenger said.

Losing his home state would have been a huge blow to Romney’s campaign and secured Santorum’s place as a serious threat heading into super Tuesday March 6, when 10 states vote and 419 delegates are up for grabs.

Ballenger, a Flint native, said he isn’t surprised Santorum did well in Genesee County. Many outside the county misunderstand the area, he said.

“They look at Michigan and they look at these industrial areas, heavily Democratic areas, and they figure, well, that means the Republicans in that area are probably more moderate. … That’s not necessarily true,” Ballenger said.

Many wondered how Romney’s vocal opposition to the auto industry bailouts would resonate with voters in counties with ties to domestic auto companies.

Likely the bailout talk didn’t have a huge effect Tuesday, because all the Republican candidates opposed the bailouts, Ballenger said.

“If you’re an auto worker in the auto industry and you’re mad at someone who didn’t support the bailouts, how does Rick Santorum make you feel any better? I don’t think he does,” Ballenger said.

The bailouts, and their success, will likely be more trouble for the Republican nominee in the general election.
Clayton Township resident Clint Jahr voted for Santorum.

“I think he’s a good man, a godly man, a trustworthy man,” 68-year-old Jahr said.

Jarh went to see Santorum speak Sunday at a rally in Davison.

“I feel like he speaks what he believes, he stays with what he says,” Jahr said.

Romney won the state and Genesee County in 2008’s GOP primary, with 34 percent of the county’s voters, followed by John McCain, with 27 percent.

Hillary Clinton handily won Genesee County in her party’s 2008 primary with 56 percent of the vote. Then-Sen. Barack Obama and former Sen. John Edwards withdrew their names from Michigan’s 2008 primary race because the state broke party rules by scheduling its primary too early.

In the 2008 presidential election, Genesee County went for Barack Obama with 65 percent of the vote and 64 percent voter turnout.”

  1. CitizenWells,
Romney winning in Michigan, with Santorum on full court press, means we will get a Romney/Obama showdown. Well, that’s if Obama is eligible and receives the Democratic party supra-delegates. The Michigan voters must have been upset that someone who was against the “White House Bailout” won the Republican primary.

I would say this to those from Michigan: IF GM had gone through normal procedures for corporate failure the Unions would have made out much worse initially. No one disputes this reality that Obama saved the Unions and the those on a Union pension for now. What the GM workers don’t understand is that they can no longer sell automobiles to conservative americans BECAUSE of the Union Bailout. The sad thing is that Liberals usually buy foreign cars, and don’t support American workers. Therefore, while General/Government motors will sell automobiles in other countries, the company is doomed to fail yet again because it has cut off it’s base customer—the average conservative American.

The union and the union leadership, as well as the White House, practiced the same failed policies as those executives whom placed short term profits and bonuses over long term company stability and survival. Just ask the pensioner at Kodak how that worked out for them.

    Sunahara v Fuddy(Hawaii-DOH) – Plaintiff’s Memorandum in Opposition to Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss –
In the Circuit Court of the First Circuit State of Hawaii – 2/28/2012

Hearing set for March 8th, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. before Judge Rhonda Nishimura

Excerpts from local Hawaii attorney Gerald Kurashima’s memorandum:

PLAINTIFF’S MEMORANDUM IN OPPOSITION TO DEFENDANTS MOTION TO DISMISS COMPLAINT, FILED ON JANUARY 3, 2012

Plaintiff Duncan Sunahara is the natural brother of Virginia Sunahara, deceased. On or about November 22, 2011, Plaintiff requested from the State of Hawaii, Department of Health (hereafter referred to as “State”), an estimate of the cost and expense to obtain a certified copy of Virginia Sunahara’s original Certificate of Live Birth (hereafter “Birth Certificate”), pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statute § 338-13(a). As stated in the Complaint, the Department of Health did not provide an estimate of the costs or provide a copy of Virginia Sunahara’s original Birth Certificate. The Department of Health had previously provided a “computer generated abstract” of Virginia Sunahara’s birth certificate. (See Abstract of Birth Certificate as Exhibit 1). However, a “computer generated abstract” is not a certified copy of an original birth certificate.

Defendant State contends that because it provided a “computer generated abstract of the birth certificate,” the Plaintiff is not entitled to a certified copy of Virginia Sunahara’s original Birth Certificate, and Plaintiff also is not entitled to “have access to that original.” (State’s Memorandum in Support of Motion to Dismiss, at pp. 2-3).

However, HRS § 338-13(a) expressly states, “the department of health shall upon request, furnish to any applicant a certified copy of any certificate, or the contents of any certificate on file in the department. . .” (Emphasis added). (See HRS § 338-13, as Exhibit 2). HAWAII RULES OF EVIDENCE, Rule 202(b) requires “mandatory judicial notice of law.” “The court shall take judicial notice of (1) the common law), (2) the constitution and statutes of the United States and of every state, territory, and other jurisdiction of the United States, . . .” (Emphasis added).

Defendant State is required to produce a copy of Virginia Sunahara’s original Birth Certificate, and not merely a “computer generated abstract” HRS § 92F-11(d) also states, “Each agency shall assure reasonable access to facilities for duplicating records. . .” The Plaintiff has sufficiently stated claims for relief which precludes dismissal or summary judgment.

  7. One more day, and we will either be happy campers, or pissed off birthers.

Joe Arpaio’s long awaited report from the Arizona posse, looking into Obama’s eligibility to be on the ballot in the 2012 presidential election, is scheduled to be released tomorrow. I can’t wait, this is it folks!

I sure hope the posse had better luck than all of the other people who looked into Obama’s past, and ran into roadblocks, especially at the Hawaii DOH.

I would think that a properly credentialed posse would be hard to say “NO!” to, when they come seeking documents. Let’s hope they got what they needed to expose this fraud on the American Citizens, and that they drag the usurper and all of the other interlopers out of the White house, in those, fashionable, plastic hand cuffs.

  8. COOL….the Democrat from NC addressed RON PAUL as PResident Paul in the Federal Reserve hearings….thanking him for coming off the campaign trail to be at the hearings…….awesome! 🙂

    AMERICAN THINKER 29 FEBRUARY 2012
On February 27, a Chicagoland website, Illinois PayToPlay, cited the star witness in the Operation Gambittrials of the early ’90s, Robert Cooley, as a primary source for the information from Daniel Frawley claiming he gave $400,000 in cash to Tony Rezko, who then passed it on to Barack Obama.

In case you missed Cooley’s story, James Peterson, writing for Andrew Breitbart’s Big Journalism, noted that “[i]n the mid-1980′s, Chicago Outfit Lawyer Robert Cooley voluntarily went undercover for the FBI as part of an investigation called Operation Gambat. Cooley wore a wire on, among others, [Alderman Ed] Burke’s good friend and made-man, Alderman Fred Roti. The Chief Judge of Cook County’s Chancery Court and an Assistant Senate Majority Leader of the Illinois State Senate were also targeted. Cooley’s work eventually led to the only judge in U.S. history being convicted of fixing a murder trial.”

When reflecting back to the time the original Tea Party movement was inspired by analyst Rick Santelli on the floor of the Chicago Mercatile Exchange, the Tea Party was a non-organization. It was managed by community volunteers at the grass roots level over the internet. It had no organizational higherarchy, and formed spontaniously…..it was a ghost, as far as the government was concerned and, additionally, by virtue of it’s bi-partisan nature, was more effective than any political movement in recent history….and still is….It didn’t seem to need a whole lot of organization as it simply reflected the “will of the people” as it were.
It would appear now, people and(politicians being what they are, that the movement is/ was/ has been hijacked by those who feel that it needs to be changed into something that it never was, or was never intended to be. By it’s very nature, originally, it made the statement, “government hands off”!
By organizing to the level of requesting assistance from the government in the form of 501-3 exemptions, the Tea Party (whoever that is now) has given the government just what it wants in the form of power, control, and abuse. The very reason the (modern) “original” Tea Party was such a vexing force to the government in the first place was that, by it’s very nature (materializing out of nowhere as a ghost), it did not need or want the help of the government….

    coldwarvet…..

The Tea Party movement actually began before that with the Ron Paul supporters in 2007……Santelli only enforced it with his rant and thus got more folks involved……Here’s the proof…..

According to Conservapedia.com, an online Conservative database:

“The birth of the Tea Party Movement is often mistakenly traced to February 2009; however, while Rick Santelli’s famous impassioned speech on CNBC was perhaps the most visible spark that ignited Tea Party gatherings across the nation, the movement’s genesis was in progress long before that notable day in early 2009. One earlier manifestation of both the movement and the name occurred in the fall of 2007 when supporters of Ron Paul called for a ‘Tea Party 2007′ to promote Paul’s bid for the presidency and a return to limited federal government.”

  13. WHISTLEBLOWER SUIT FILED AGAINST THE FRBNY AND FRBOG

A pro se qui tam Complaint has been filed under seal and in camera naming the Federal Reserve as having received the value of inflation as hidden profit in violation of criminal laws.

The value of $7 trillion over the past six years is claimed to have been hidden in the accounting records of the FRBNY handling of Treasury security auction funds. All profit of the Fed is required by law to be given to the government.

In a simplistic succinct scenario, the payment of government (deficit) bills is essentially paid with money off of the printing press. That money is then in circulation and, after moving through the financial structure, eventually becomes the funds that will be used to purchase the (deficit) security owned by the Fed and sold at the auction.

These funds are mingled with the funds from securities rolled over from prior years for concealment. The first case produces inflation and a national debt. The second case does not.

The Federal Reserve scam is detailed at http://www.scribd.com/doc/49040689 RIP OFF BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

Whistleblower actions have been routinely dismissed if not represented by approved professional counsel. Would you believe that a search of the metropolitan area has not found a firm that wants to be involved ???

  14. coldwarvet……

You are right about one thing though….the RINO’s/Neo Con/Establishment GOP party hackers…… hijacked the Tea Party movement once it began to get recognition by the MEDIA……the Paul supporters have discussed this more than once and MANY want to reclaim what the campaign says they began in 2007……which is only RIGHT!

    Hijacked Tea Party?

“But it’s now a year later, and the Tea Party seems to be transforming from a libertarian gathering to promote less intrusive government and celebrate our freedoms to a neo-con group ”

  17. General question,

I am aware that many claims from multiple sources have procrastinated that Mitt Romney may choose Ron Paul as a possible running mate.

Personally, I never once gave this paring a second thought. However, I am now beginning to wonder if something so sinister as this is plausible for consideration? As we know, this rumor began when Ron and Mitt clearly teamed up against Santorum earlier this month.

There is no uncertainty in my understanding, Mitt Romney is Big Government, highly liberal, Big on Government spending and Bail outs. Mitt is a mirrored reflection of Obama! Mitt “should be” Ron Paul’s easy target when it comes to conservative values – least on would think. Right?

But in my today’s Ron Paul’s news letter, a caveat has presented itself. I’ll post a portion of if, as followed:

” ..This poll also shows that fake conservatives Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich would be defeated in a general election because voters are fed up with politicians who sell out their principles for party loyalty.

The Republican Party can’t nominate a candidate who will spend the entire fall campaign apologizing for their Big Government record if we want to defeat Barack Obama.”

Excuse me??? Not one mention of Mitt Romney as a “FAKE Conservative”? Not one mention of Mitt and Big Government spending? Not one mention of Mitt with Party Loyalty? Not one mention of of Mitt Selling out? Not one mention of Mitt’s support of federal bail-out?

Mitt is closer to Obama than any other candidate, yet Ron Paul in his letter, fails to address Mitt Romney’s liberal socialist Big Government?

    How can that be?

  18. CitizenWells:

    From hearings today:
“Gas prices will add to inflation,” Bernanke said, “while unemployment is falling faster than expected.”

Finally the Fed admits that ‘easing’ has resulted in inflation that, if oil prices rise, may become a problem. The second line, is double-speak for the figures produced by the government don’t match the reality on the ground. Nothing is as seems, or will be after they change history and ‘spin’ another reality.

    Pete

  19. Well, there you go….no difference between Obama and Paul foreign policy procedures. Remember, the Soviets played Kennedy as a young, inexperience, naive plus knowing certain other facts about his history, and thus forced him, during a crisis to give into them…or else:

Ron Paul cites Cuban Missile Crisis as right way to handle foreign policy

They keep saying — the previous administration, this administration — ‘Take nothing off the table when it has to dealing with our enemies,’” Paul said. “Well, what about — why should we take off negotiations? Why not diplomacy? Should we take that off?”

Paul cited the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis — when the world was taken to the brink of nuclear war right before an agreement was hatched out and war was averted — as an example of how foreign policy should be conducted.

“I remember very well after being drafted in 1962 during the Cuban crisis,” Paul said. “The Cuban crisis was dissipated rather rapidly precisely because John Kennedy called up [Soviet Premier Nikita] Khrushchev and said, ‘We have a problem here.’ And Khrushchev [said], ‘Well, we have a problem over here. You have missiles over in Turkey.’ So they made a deal. We took the missiles out of Turkey, he took the missiles out of Cuba, and we didn’t have to fight a nuclear war. Why can’t we talk to people who have weapons of mass destruction?”

Paul deemed he outcomes a success and said it is how U.S. foreign policy should be conducted when it comes to the situation surrounding Iran and its potential to acquire a nuclear weapon.

    General question,

    =====================
agree….people think rightly that Romney is no conservative. He, like McCain, for some reason won’t touch Obama in any meaningful way while attempting to obliterate fellow repub candidates with his big bucks. But….if you’re REALLY a conservative, why would you even want to govern such a historically liberal bastion like MA???? Unless you simply want the position and are willing to go along to get along…..therefore setting yourself up for some future run as a “limited conservative” or…..ta da….moderate!! I cringe at the thought of watching a debate between zero and Mittens. Obama will have the knives ready and Romney will have his pleaful look of hoping to be understood that he’s simply entitled to be the next “one”. He simply will have no ammo to match those knives since he is pretty much a reflection of same policies and approaches. IOW, he’s weak in his inner core.

  24. Observer,

As you know, there was much more policy and involvement during the Cuban Nuclear Crisis, than a simple phone call from the W.H. to Russia to resolve such issue.

Obama said the same thing during his run for Office pertaining to Islamic Terrorists, Iran, Russia, ect.. for policy. Call them, they’ll work with us. And you can clearly see the results.

  26. Mr. Clean
Has Arpaio given any indication that he, or those in his posse, understand fully and completely the Constitutional requirements for presidential eligibility?
He has alluded to, “doing the president a favor”…by clearing up the
    issues surrounding Obama.
I wonder seriously whether Obama will consider anything concerning his background being made public…a favor…
Sheriffs are politicians too and this particular one is running for re-election at the present time. What he has let slip out I do not find encouraging. Perhaps it has a political purpose to keep the heat off. Whatever the outcome of this press release, it has been termed “preliminary findings”…Does this mean an ongoing investigation? Why leak any statements at all? Just my two cents, but I will say this, he had better make the voters in his county happy.

  27. Observer,

Did you see in today’s news that Obama has agreed to send North Korea Massive shipments of food? At our expense of course!

But he claimed this food shipment was an agreement for North Korea to abandon and get rid of their Nuclear weapons for such an exchange!!!

Dumb question by me… How in the hell is America, the Obama Admin., the U.N., the IAEA going to step in North Korea for “Verification” of destruction of their weapons and ambitious Nuclear program? Based on a “Promise” from N.K. with a phone call to Obama only?

    Smoke and mirrors…..

On Thursday, March 1, 2012, Sheriff Joe Arpaio will give a briefing on his Cold Case Posse’s Report regarding their 5 month investigation into Obama. The Tea Party from Surprise, Maricopa County, AZ asked the sheriff’s office to investigate whether Obama’s name can be on the AZ presidential ballot. Our thanks go out to this courageous patriotic group for initiating and asking Sheriff Joe to get involved. For over 3 years, people questioning Obama’s known eligibility issues have been maligned, targeted, and ridiculed. But millions have refused to be silenced. We want answers, and hope to get them.

  32. I just did federal tax return today. On the form I had to fill out I had to place my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER along with other information.

At the bottom of the page was a statement that said; “Under the penelty of perjury charges, I declare the statements made to be true and accurate….etc”

The burning question that should be on every American’s mind at tax time this year is:
HOW IN THE HELL CAN AN ILLEGAL PRESIDENT FILE A LEGAL FEDERAL TAX FORM USING A FALSE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WITHOUT HAVING PERJURY CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST HIM”?

How can this illegal president AVOID perjury charges knowing that he, and the IRS ALSO knows, is filing a form using a false social security number?

Another shining example of: “Nothing to see here folks, move along, shut up and go back to sleep.”

  33. RMinNC,

Good Question, but an obvious one.

How does an Illegal alien with an obtained paid for false B.C. and S.S. file for tax returns as well?

    Same way….

  34. Bob Strauss
Good link Bob …so far, however, I remain uninspired.
What if, and this is a big ‘what if’, Arpaio merely “confirms” virtually all of the information amassed to date? That would be”all” he would have to do to satisfy me. It would indeed be phenominal however, were he to dredge up something we weren’t yet aware of which ,with a resource of some (3000?) volunteers, he might conceiveably do. All this is so awe-inspiring. So why am I so un-inspired? …and NO… I’m not an Obot…just uninspired. That takes me back to my original question…What if?…
I have researched prosecutorial proceedures for Arizona which still leaves me with the feeling that this discovery, if indeed there is one, will have a long way to go before it reaches adjudication. I use the term, ‘adjudication’, as the thrust of this investigation is merely intended to keep Obama off the ballot. Arpaio cannot act unilaterally to do this. He can only recommend to various other venues to act within their own respective jurisdictions. Anyone else have these feelings?

  36. RMinNC,

Just to quickly add. In the testimonies to the Congress on this problem of false Birth Certs., sold under fraudulent manners and fake counterfeits of Birth Certs., these are commonly referred too as based documents. What I mean by that is simply in all 50 States, only such a document is used to then gain a Social Security Card as well as a drivers licenses. This is also the basis used to gain a voters I.D. Prominent reason Democrats support DMV voter laws – it lacks verification.

The problem that was presented to congress many years ago, remains the same. If anyone obtains a fake Birth Certificate, they can in turn obtain a valid Social Security, as well as a valid Drivers License, which as I perilously stated, grants under the DMV voters laws, automatic voter rights.

Its not difficult of a fraud. Yet no political will touch it with a ten foot pole to ensure a protection of American citizens.

  37. I will send money ONLY if Joe actually produces something substantial. I agree with coldwarvet in that even if Joe confirms what we already know I’ll be happy to send him money. But i get the feeling it will be a where there’s smoke there’s fire and someone needs to look into it….which, of course, know one will. Looking forward to tomorrow but not expecting much. Here’s to hoping!

This is encouraging. I’m hopeful yet guarded. Thanks.

  42. No Jacqlnsmith,

I need dig no deeper than Ron Paul’s letter of “Attacking” every Republican candidate in his letter today, with the exception of Mitt Romney.

Mitt should be his easiest target as Mitt is no different than Obama. Yet time after time, Ron Paul teams up with Mitt. Yes, Ron disagrees Mitt on basic forum issues. But he certainly does not attack him as he does all the other candidates. Mitt – to Ron Paul, should be like shooting fish out of a barrel per se, but he dosen’t. Instead, Ron calls all others fakes, but Mitt?

Really? Mitt the “ONLY” True Conservative out of all?

Thats a Ron Paul Joke right? Or maybe Ron Paul’s writers forgot to get Ron’s approval – again, before they wrote that letter? Maybe that’s case – again….

  43. William | February 29, 2012 at 1:39 pm |

But in my today’s Ron Paul’s news letter, a caveat has presented itself. I’ll post a portion of if, as followed:

” ..This poll also shows that fake conservatives Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich would be defeated in a general election because voters are fed up with politicians who sell out their principles for party loyalty………..
Mitt is closer to Obama than any other candidate, yet Ron Paul in his letter, fails to address Mitt Romney’s liberal socialist Big Government?

    How can that be?
    **************************
William, this revelation directly from Ron Paul’s newsletter is indeed very revealing and troubling, to say the least. It supports a number of people’s theories – based on substantial information – about the unspoken, strange alliance between Mitt and Ron. In all of the debates it has been noted that Paul never attacked Romney, while his efforts were noticeably directed against the others.

One plausible theory is that Paul wants Romney to win the primary because he knows that R cannot win over Obama. It would be better for the causes that Paul espouses if we have four more years of Obama. (Paul already knows he himself will not win the nomination, unlike the opinion of some of his supporters.) Don’t forget, Paul is a politician, and politicians strategize.

Why four more years of Obama? Because by that time Paul feels the country will be so fed up with the downward trend that the electorate will then be ready to accept his (or, rather Rand Paul’s) libertarian views. He may have a point, but will the country even be standing by that time?

All I can add is that we now have the inmates running the asylum, having apparently locked up all of the staff!! There’s a lot of banging on locked doors by the kidnapped but unfortunately they allowed a lot of knives to enter the grounds while they unarmed themselves.

I think we were speaking earlier of only God’s intervention Himself will do the shaking up…..and behold I noticed the terrible tornado destruction today….already….hmmmm. I think the chaos that may actually take place isn’t going to necessarily be the “chaos” planned by the regime!!

  45. Here,

I will post Ron Paul’s full letter today:..

    Dear Fellow Conservative,

According to a recently released Rasmussen poll, I lead Barack Obama in a head-to-head match-up.

More and more Americans realize my message of liberty, sound money, and free markets runs in clear contrast to Barack Obama’s economy-wrecking, Constitution-shredding policies.

This poll also shows that fake conservatives Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich would be defeated in a general election because voters are fed up with politicians who sell out their principles for party loyalty.

The Republican Party can’t nominate a candidate who will spend the entire fall campaign apologizing for their Big Government record if we want to defeat Barack Obama.

But in order to get this message out to the voters in the ten states that vote on Super Tuesday, I need your help right away.

Please make your most generous contribution to help my campaign fund our critical Get-Out-The Vote efforts for Super Tuesday, so my campaign can receive as many of the 400 delegates at stake that day as possible.

    Click to donate

My consistent, conservative message is exactly what voters who want to replace Barack Obama are yearning for.

As each new flavor-of-the-week emerges, voters take a close inspection of their record and discover that they are nothing more than establishment, status quo candidates.

Rick Santorum rose after Iowa and then immediately nose-dived because voters realized he voted to raise the debt ceiling five times, doubled the size of the Department of Education, supported the budget-busting Medicare Part D entitlement, and helped kill a National Right to Work law.

This is not the record of a conservative and will make him unelectable in a campaign against Barack Obama.

I have never voted for unbalanced budget or to raise the debt ceiling.

And every vote I cast is in accordance with the Constitution.

No one will ever accuse me of changing my positions or selling out my principles in backroom deals because I caved in to pressure to “be a team player.”

None of my opponents can make this claim; they will all lose to Barack Obama if nominated. I am the candidate who can take him on and Restore Prosperity to America Now.

The stakes of this election are just too high to settle for another Big Government nominee who will spend the entire campaign backtracking on their record.

So please, click here to make your most generous contribution and help fund my campaign’s Super Tuesday Push. Help make sure we have every resource available to finish strong on March 6 and acquire every delegate possible.

I hope I can continue to count on your support.

    For Liberty,

    Ron Paul

P.S. Super Tuesday is just six days away!

A new poll just released shows that I am the candidate who can take on and defeat Barack Obama.

Over 400 delegates are at stake in the ten states where voters go to the polls on March 6, and I need your support right away.

Click here to make your most generous contribution to fund our Get-Out-The-Vote programs and help my campaign finish strong on March 6.

Anyone think WND is privy to more than we know because they have been active informers for the “posse”?? Or is this just hyping their coverage??

  49. By the way,

Did anyone else notice the part in Ron Paul’s letter whereby he stated “And every vote I cast is in accordance with the Constitution.”

But failed to mention the part when in comes to the U.S. Constitution, he may be laughed at by his fellow members of congress to uphold such statue?

Just food for thought for “The I’M ALL ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION”, candidate…

Lets hope if accepted as Mitt’s V.P., he doesn’t fear Iran laughing at him..

  51. Observer,

I honestly don’t know. But I do know this. If none of the ballot challenges nor anything produced by the Sheriff, convince in any way shape or form – for our currently elected congressional reps to get off their butts and address this problem, and completely ignore this crisis, then count on 4 more years of Obama.

Trust me, they know. The next several months should be reveling of their cowardliness or bravery… The results will be reflected in the election.

  52. observer, the “game changer” line by WND is just hype as far as i’m concerned. Corsi’s book was billed as a “game changer” as was the free on-line book they offered. Now, granted, in a normal world all of the things that have been uncovered about our Barry SHOULD have been actual game changers…in fact they would have had any other politician off the ballot and/or in jail.

  53. What did he vote for that wasn’t CONSTITUTIONAL William??

  54. observer
I notice Farah’s heavy use of qualifiers in his statements..he’s “confident” (not positive or sure)…a “significant”..(not major, serious or great)…”could” be (not will be )…as long as you qualify your statements you can always back out.
I believe it is sufficient to say that, minimally, WND has been a major beneficiary of the NBC issue and, as with ALL the other media outlets, will continue to flourish as long as the mystery persists. At least in this area. I also believe that WND will continue to do well as long as Obama does well.
The fact that the country is so profoundly divided along political lines has been a virtual wellspring for the media as a whole. Because someone is on the same side doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t profiting from your suffering.(Glen Beck) (Hannity) (O’Rielly)…think these guys are poor?
As far as I have been able to determine, no one has yet been able to say “checkmate” to Obama…or, as with Watergate, come forward with the critical piece of damning evidence. To be sure, ALL the media have been having an absolute ball with this. They are totally in their element so to speak and are doing exactly what they were born for.
These blogs are different. At least as far as I’m concerned. I’ve really got a lot of other things I could, and should, be doing personally but, as long as I feel I’m contributing I will stay. The day, however, Obama or the DNC go down for the stress they have caused me and the thousands of others out here in the functioning public, I’m gone. But I will be watching, along with a lot of others, next time around.

  55. Interested Bystander

    William,

It is just my opinion that Paul is after Newt and Rick to get them out of the race so that there is a head to head with Romney.

It is also my opinion that IF Paul can get Newt and Rick to quit the race, Paul would get much more press, and he could BEAT Romney head to head.

As far as the Congress “laughing” at Paul trying to get Constitutional legislation passed:

Paul would have the “bully pulpit”, and be able to argue his “side” to a larger audience.

Also, I believe that the “agreement” between Paul and Romney was supposedly for RAND Paul’s benefit. I haven’t heard Mitt is considering RON for VP, but a couple weeks ago it was “floated” that RAND “may” be on a short list.

  56. Jacqlynsmith,

The best and immediate constitutional question for Ron Paul, aside from him being laughed at by his congressional pals, is Obama. Same as all others.

Can he address this Constitutional Crisis? Yes. Will he? No. Why? again he fears repercussion on his career as a politician.

I don’t vote for U.S. reps that have constitutional fear over career repercussions. There is no need for me to go into Ron Paul’s voting record, historically speaking. No more than the others at this time. Its not necessary. I am merely trying to understand the relationship between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Complete opposites.

Nevertheless, you never explained (ignored) Ron Paul’s allegiance with Mitt Romney. Lets not get off on a tangent here Jacqlynsmith. I would truly enjoy an explanation of their future together, considering their complete polar opposites, but possible alliance if it helps Ron Paul to a V.P. position.

All about U.S. Constitution? Nothing about politics, power and positioning?

    Oh do explain….

  57. I.B.

That makes no tactical sense to me? Why attempt to eliminate 2nd and 3rd place, but say nothing about the front runner in First place? If the Front runner is near Identical to Obama, which Mitt is, and history proven as such, that is the easy target.

But we do know this. Karl Rove with his strategy has selected Mitt as the front runner. The GOP will select Mitt as well. The Media will also stand behind Mitt. Newt and Sortorum will be behind. Ron Paul….Well he is not in the picture for President, and even he knows that. We know this. Its not rocket science.

So again, why is Ron Paul “attacking” all others as not being “Conservatives”, with the exception of Mitt Romney? Ron will be far out of the picture before Newt… In other words, it will never come to a Head-to-Head debate between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul for the GOP Presidential Debate.

That will not happen. So why the support from Ron Paul towards Mitt the Socialist and Obama reflection?

I’m trying to understand this anew alliance between them…

  58. How is RP being laughed at by congress? Can you tell me William? I had not noticed.

  59. SueQ,

That was was with Ron Paul being asked to address the Constitutional issues pertaining to Obama’s eligibility for office. Ron Paul stated he could not address such constitutional issue as his Congressional peers “would laugh at him”, if he addressed it.

That is what I am speaking about. Hope that clarifies.

Lets hope if elected, Iran doesn’t laugh too… otherwise, he may back down.

  60. Interested Bystander

    William commented:

“That makes no tactical sense to me? Why attempt to eliminate 2nd and 3rd place, but say nothing about the front runner in First place? If the Front runner is near Identical to Obama, which Mitt is, and history proven as such, that is the easy target.”

First of all, I do NOT have access to Paul, my comment as always was simply MY opinion.

Look, if you’re running a marathon and you are in 4th place, you can’t “attack” the front runner WITHOUT first passing the 2nd and 3rd place runners.

As you probably know, Paul only has so much cash on hand, so it makes sense to ME that you go after the candidate directly in front of you BEFORE you go after the leader.

And you make my point for me actually, because Romney IS like Obama, so why not eliminate Newt and Rick, because the truth is that if people actually LOOK at Romney’s stance on issues, it seems to me that he would be “cake” to defeat. And if I may, you suggesting Romney is an “easy target” with all of the others in the race, and with everyone knowing Romney is the GOP’s “next in line”, is, in my opinion, wrong. The “establishment” is going to prop Romney up, no matter what is thrown at him, Romney is “their” man.

I don’t KNOW what the deal is between Paul and Romney, but this is what I suspect.

    William continues:

“But we do know this. Karl Rove with his strategy has selected Mitt as the front runner. The GOP will select Mitt as well. The Media will also stand behind Mitt. Newt and Sortorum will be behind. Ron Paul….Well he is not in the picture for President, and even he knows that. We know this. Its not rocket science.”

Exactly why you don’t go after Romney until your OTHER opponents are eliminated.

And your comment about Paul being “not in the picture for President”, really irks me.

It is MY opinion that the MEDIA, and the GOP establishment doesn’t want Paul to be the nominee, so they don’t even mention him most of the time, or do so in passing. Paul WON Maine and the election was TAKEN from him because the GOP establishment ordered that some caucuses be postponed, and then didn’t count the votes from those that did postpone their gatherings.

It is MY opinion that Paul has done remarkably well with what he has been dealt, and it is also my opinion that if given a “fair shake” by the media, Paul would be doing MUCH better.

    William goes on:

“So again, why is Ron Paul “attacking” all others as not being “Conservatives”, with the exception of Mitt Romney? Ron will be far out of the picture before Newt… In other words, it will never come to a Head-to-Head debate between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul for the GOP Presidential Debate. ”

For one thing, I take exception with the comment that Paul will be “far out fo the picture before Newt”.

I don’t think so, I think Paul is going to stay in the race all of the way to the Convention.

I’ll make a prediction, Santorum and Gingrich will, when they drop out of the race, pledge their delegates to Romney, even though during the debates I got to watch BOTH Gingrich AND Santorum AGREED with Paul on EVERY issue except for his foriegn policy stance.

And if I recall correctly, it was ROMNEY who after being asked a CONSTITUTIONAL question turned to Paul and stated,

“Why don’t we ask the Constitutional EXPERT.”

As a response to JS, William commented this:

“There is no need for me to go into Ron Paul’s voting record, historically speaking.”

I don’t have to explain Paul’s voting record because it SPEAKS for itself.

Paul has the MOST CONSERVATIVE voting record of ANY Representative OR Senator in the time frame between 1937 and 2002 and there were 3319 other folks in that time frame, and that would include Newt AND Rick.

And then this in response to SueQ:

“Lets hope if elected, Iran doesn’t laugh too… otherwise, he may back down.”

Let me first comment that I am VERY dissapointed Paul hasn’t discussed Obama’s INeligibility.

But for you to suggest that Paul would “back down” if Iran attacked us, or one of our allies, is simply YOU listening to the media’s BIASED reporting.

I have on more than one occasion linked to Paul’s stance on Iran, and if you want to listen to the way the media SPINS his position, then that’s on YOU, and I, nor SueQ, nor any other Paul supporter needs to respond any further, because it is my opinion that Paul would make sure CONGRESS declared WAR on Iran, you know, like the Constitution states should happen, and then, it is my opinion that if Congress did declare war, Paul would instruct the military to kick Iran’s behind back to the stone ages until they unconditionally surrendered, and then we’d LEAVE, VICTORIOUS, which should have been done in Korea, Viet Nam, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Just look at what we are doing in Afghanistan. All you have to do is look back 30 years ago to the Soviet Union and what happened to them for staying in Afghanistan for too long.

It is my opinion that we are on the WRONG track, both Republicans AND Democrats, and Paul is the ONLY “viable” candidate who is offering a different approach to the way we are doing things, not just globally, but also nationally.

Other than the FACT about Paul’s voting record, these are simply my OPINIONS reached by researching Paul’s stance on issues.

  61. Interested Bystander

    William,

I would also inform you that Paul isn’t running for re-election in Texas.

Not sure if you knew that or not.
